Hide the beating? Rush played in two state cups. They won 1 and didn't make it to the finals in the other. Wildcats played in two state cups. They won one but played in the championship game in both. Wildcats don't hide from anyone. If you want to take a shot at them all you have to do is sign up in the top tourneys or any state cup. Good luck. Have to book our flights now
It's all about the journey and the trips to Regionals and Nationals. Make the memories that will last a lifetime for your daughter and your family. The haters all wish they were going with their daughters, regardless of whether they win a National Championship.Everyone who reaches those events is a winner. Great experiences for your player. Enjoy the ride
Went to Region One Tournament with my older daughter 3 years ago. Parade of states was very cool 20000 players marching into stadium each state with their states name on their shirt. Also had contests like crossbar challenge etc.We had a blast.
Smaller clubs don't always have the quality depth the big clubs have which can be telling in tournament play if starters are playing the whole game in multiple games over a weekend as opposed to single games per week in state cup play.
2:26 not a mommy and far from jealous. My little Suzy is playing in the top bracket against ECNL teams and NOT getting their butts kicked! LOL!!! Have fun losing after spending 5-8 k and getting D-3 offers lol!
7 goals allowed and a whopping 1 scored your a top team Kitty Cats. Fly first class United needs the cash! LOL! I know, your resting your top girls for the big tournaments coming up!
If your daughter was playing in top flight with ecnl team why would you be spending your time every day obsessively sweating Wildcats results. Not buying it Mommy your Suzie didn't get into PDA event.
And the D1 coaches love watching the weak teams getting their butts handed to them. Lets see which crappy kid do I offer a scholarship to? Your right, none of them! First class here we come!
News flash You will see top power 5 coaches lining the sideline at the "showcase" level games in Chicago if a team on the field has a single stud player. They are there watching one kid. Sometimes however there is a splash over effect and a kid not on their radar impresses enough to generate some interest. Not all interest is the same there is "full ride" interest in the stud and 20-30% interest potentially in the splash over. Better to be the number 2 kid on a losing team with a stud than a. bottom half starter on a meh team. That said all the starters on a top 10 team can get substantial p5 offers.
That’s why, 9:11, we moved our daughter. We have been extremely fortunate so far, its all-good from our collective point of view. We wish everyone success, and happiness.
You are so wrong. FC Virginia ECNL and Penn Fusion ECNL both lost both games and as with Wildcats both had many D1 coaches watching individual players. MatchFit NPL had same two losses and same goal differential as Wildcats NPL after 2 games at PDA event and you never mentioned or attacked them. You are clearly sick with jealousy and bitter hatred and obsessed with Wildcats. Get off your computer you are spending your days sitting there waiting for their results to come in, ignoring big wins like in state cup run and coming on to attack them for any loss even in a showcase event. Get some help for yourself before its too late please.
That's because MF NPL are awful, hence why no one has ever brought them up on the forum. If they had been on here like the Wildcats parents bragging about how good they are then that's a different story. Wildcats parents, just accept that you didn't play well this weekend got beaten handily by better teams. Then people would stop mocking you. Until then you can brag all you want about making Regionals/Nationals but if you're losing heavily in every game then i'm sorry to say that none of your players will stand out. It's tough to find positives when 4-5 goals go past you in every game.
Parents bickering about which team plays the "best" kickball. Wildcats play kickball. Rush plays kickball. Keep chasing those irrelevant trophies and gotsoccer points.
2:01 okay let's talk what's important what schools were at your kid's games? How many players on your kid's team have verbals and to which schools? Is that more relevant for this board?
Dude it's a board about youth soccer teams. Relax kids have plenty of time before they grow up and enter the real world. Enjoy a little fun - who's better than who while you still can.
PS. Fact is Gotsoccer points are used to get teams in tournaments and kickball is called direct. When the other team is better or has good matchups you chill and wait for an opportunity to play over the top it's that simple. The object is to score more than the other team.
True that there are no style points in soccer. State Cup titles and trips to nationals and regionals and invites to big showcases only come with results.
PDA Storm ECNL went 1-1-1- and MatchFit ECNL won 1 lost 2. Looks like Ohio Premier was the best team at PDA in 2002 group. Ohio Premier beat PDA Storm, Eclipse, and MatchFit ECNL by multiple goals. Impressive.
Matchfit is not the right club team to join if you want your kids to excel personally or in soccer. Condescending staff who steal your money And a few parents with records for stealing kids town money as well Choose wisely
a bit more detail would be appreciated on the "a few parents with records for stealing..." That sounds a bit juicy. Por favor.
"Matchfit is not the right club team to join if you want your kids to excel personally or in soccer. Condescending staff who steal your money And a few parents with records for stealing kids town money as well Choose wisely May 29, 2017 at 9:06 PM"
According to 11:57 no players from fc Virginia ecnl or Penn fusoin ecnl will be recruited since they lost 5 of 6 between them. And guess Pda ecnl players also won't get looks since they let 5 goals get past them in one game. What a crock. Colleges are looking at individual player strengths not the overall teams strength and they could care less about results.the goal is to be on a team that can get into these events and get your player the exposure to the coaches.
12;53 I disagree they do care about the score as they want to see how the player reacts? Is the player complaining when they are down or is the player trying to pick up the team. Does the player that scores a goal run to the player that provided the ball or are they just about me? Does the goalie yell at the defenders after a goal, do the defenders make a face after the goalie gives up a goal, did the midfielder play it safe instead of checking and taking space? the score is important when it comes to this.
And yes the brand opens doors but the players get the deal done just playing for a brand isn't a guarantee. There is not a lot of difference between the 10% of the ~400k registered soccer players. We are not talking pros because that % is much smaller. They are looking for good kids.
12:51 - hahahaha...oh that's right because all the coaches looking at them went to cincy classics. Btw - was at the games of those teams. Many many coaches in attendance.
Yes i agree but my point was you don't have to be on a team that won their games this weekend to get noticed and be attractive to one or more of these college programs. Most of the colleges can't compete for the top kids they are looking for a fit for their program.D1 D2 D3 they all need players and most of the girls playing at PDA showcase can play at some of the schools represented at PDA this weekend. What matters is to be seen and to get the exposure. The feedback from The college coaches has already started as of this morning.
1:46 10% of 400k there is not a lot of difference between most of these kids. I think the schools go to a game and watch the kids that want to come to their school since I am sure they have been contacted by many kids.SO they go and watch the kid at all times. So if Penn State was at your kid's game and your kid didn't reach out chances are they never noticed her unless she was top 3 out of the 36 players playing. If she was okay maybe she gets added to an email blast to attend an Id clinic. That's what I think happens.
Exposure means nothing - if your kid can ball. If she attended their ID clinic that is all the exposure she needs. If she did good they will come watch her play at Delco or PDA, my opinion.
I think that movement hurts more girls than it helps. The top kids don't need to move they were identified already via team or odp already if not ECNL.
To 1:38 PM, from what I saw of an FCV 02 game, I bet the team wishes fewer coaches had shown up. This was not an impressive weekend for them. And Penn Fusion probably wishes that coaches only showed for the FCV game because they weren't much better. And it's not that their results influence who college coaches want to recruit, it's more that those results accurately reflect the poor quality of play that was on display by those teams.
2:41 - if can can ball, they will watch her against other top competition. No matter how well she showed at camp. I'm talking from experience. If the competition isn't there, they aren't attending. They will wait or watch someone else. Parents think coaches are looking at their kids only. They have a list. It's nice to think otherwise, but the reality is they aren't.
Your kid could be their top get or another and yours is the default. They do a good job in the sell. That said, it's nice to get good interest and any kid and their parents should be thankful for it.
2;41 - top players are identified, but that changes with age and maturation and competition. A top 15 yr old may not be at 16 or 17. If you are team jumping, then no it doesn't work in your favor. But any college coach will appreciate a switch into a more competitive league or team. They get that. Some recommend it.
If Penn State was at your kid's game, they don't care who wrote to them. They will reach out to the coaches of the kids that interest THEM as they watch over time. They will come to a training session or two if they are really interested in a PA/MD/NJ/DE kid, no matter whether the kids have written a single email. Same with other top soccer programs.
435 all true. One of the best kids in R1 wasn't even a starter at 14. Its a big disadvantage to be a late bloomer in the current YNT and College (they are very linked at the top levels) systems.
Penn State would go anywhere in PA/MD/NJ/DE to watch a practice of a player they don't know even wants to come to their school or go to games of these players with no idea of their interest?
Isn't the player writing and email or club coach contacting school on player's behalf the same thing if they are really interested in a player?
How does PennState identify players? they need to go all over the country to tournaments to find players? or do the players come to them?
I like this last post. Be realistic. Here is how you can tell if your daughter is DI or lets say top 100 DI school. Ask her what she thinks. Tell her she has to work hard, train, sacrifice. Tell her she may be better off going low DI or DII. See what she says. if you hear back from her and she says "watch me go DI top level" Well their is your answer. Nothing can stop your daughter at that point at this age. Give her the chance at that point, see what happens. Remember someone has to fill in those well over 200 DI schools every year.
I cannot tell if you are being sarcastic or not. Penn State at this point is a high level destination school and not just for soccer players, a good number of kids are diverted to the satellites to make room at main for the athletes and scholars. Look at the commitment sheets and you will see that a 15 yo who is not on the radar will not "Catch the eye" of a coach and be recruited. There are truly plenty of D1 programs that a player can get to, but if you think that a 15yo saying "I want to work real hard so I can play D1" is the motivator you need to have a serious talk with players who have made it to a D1 program and what it took. Right program, right parents, right coach, right skills check the outgoing class prior to your daughter going in to see how many true positions there are. Will the team be reloading or returning starters? Getting into a school is difficult, adding soccer to the criteria narrows the choices.
First off have your daughter review college rosters at schools they are seeking and review incoming freshman. As you can see many Top 50 D1 schools are picky, speaking from experience just because they like you at a showcase and are trolling to see you at clinics and other games it's will all be based on where your daughter stands against the others they are recruiting the same year. Let's take PSU for example since we are discussing this school today on this blog. There are 5 incoming freshman, all coming from ECNL Teams with very high level experience profiles on their resume.
Each are coming from different states and teams Sockers FC, PDA, Penn Fusion, Bethesda, Eclipse - Four of the five have Youth National Experience at u15 and above. If you do not have this on your player resume than you can pretty much can count out the school and tell your daughter the reality is a long shot so start thinking lower D1 or Strong D2/D3 School.
Sometimes giving your kid a reality check will also give yourself a sense of relaxation to not rush into things and just sit back and enjoy potentially the final years of their soccer careers. If she wants to play college she will, will it be in top 10 school that every girl in America is chasing maybe not but at least she won’t be pressured and get back to enjoying the game again.
1:03 - you are speaking from experience. Many at U15 are still pipe dreaming; and i'm speaking about parents. And, unfortunately, many coaches will tell a kid or a parent they should be playing at PennState when really, they shouldn't. That's how the club money machine keeps churning.
Excellent advice. There is definitely a type for the top schools and a mold that a player needs to fit. If you do not have NT experience or some other lofty accolade to your credit (Top ECNL team starter with consistent regional top 2 finish) you need to drop down a bit on expectations. As a parent it is sometimes hard to know when to have a talk with your player to set her expectations. If you have a good coach they may help with the conversation. With my older daughter we realized that her team rank and placement were not going to garner a lot of attention from the big name schools. There were some good local colleges consistently looking but girls who reached out to the East Coast power schools were never on the coaches rolodex.
1:03 here again. This is the time to have a talk with you daughter incoming freshman players or sophomore year will become critical. It they continue chasing top schools and get off any radar from any mediocre school then they will be chasing once again later down the line. Set expectations athletically and academically, I know many on this blog are probably not pushing there kid to apply to Columbia or Harvard but are pushing top 10 soccer school come one people think about that. Let your kid dream but help guide them on true expectations and goals.
1109 are you really that clueless? Penn State already know in whom they are interested if they are attending a training session. They are watching one kid on he field that they identified usually through her national team invitation. No one said they are randomly showing up at a training session.
Probably not a full list but here is the commits for Penn State. Looks like they are going to start looking at 2021s. While this is just a sample from a specific college you can see where a non-committed player stands if they were hoping for a Penn State offer. High School Freshman may still have a chance, if they play for the caliber of teams below. It also does not look to be club specific however only 3 clubs have 2 players represented. .

I know for a fact that my daughter is better than the (2) 2020’s listed, she would smash them, and crash them, and mash them to dust, she would send them, and bend them, until they were mush.
2:32 Isn't that what i'm saying? Not random - meaning player has showed interest already for them to know she is considering the school otherwise it would be random.
okay I guess i'm just clueless
2:49 2017 Roster 28 players Current Freshman 5 to be replaced by 2021 players = 0 Current Sophomores 9 to be replaced by 2020 players = 2 Current Juniors 7 to be replaced by 2019 players = 5 Current Seniors 7 to be replaced by 2018 = 6
2020 players very much the target age group for Penn State, but what do I know i'm clueless.
Best advise someone gave me. If your daughter is interested in a school look up the roster of that school and see if your daughter has the same accolades. This will give you a much better group of schools to focus on. Good luck
Agree with 1:03 but I will add that not only are man toy parents pipe dreaming but unscrupulous coaches play into this by recognizing parents with unrealistic expectations and playing them by blowing smoke about the kid could play at Duke uva psu etc. These parents eat that up and actually resent the honorable coach who tells them those schools are unrealistic for their kid. Youth soccer parent madness. They then leave their team and honest coach to go play for bullshit artist.Happens often.
Tell her save her pennies. TDS is a waste of money. One of our games had 5 US Nat'l team scouts and no one from that game (either side) listed as a Game Day Standout. That's BS.
ANy of you looking for information on rosters for 2017 fall at colleges, just look at school soccer page. Most schools have annoouncement of who the new recruits are.
Not close to true. About 15-20% of the 500+ Big conference scholarships will have YNT experience. There are another 2000 scholies out there as there are a ton of D1 women's soccer teams. Just look at the local teams. On average PDA and MFA send 30-50 kids every year to D1, a small % have YNT creds.
Many girls going D1 yes, and many from clubs other than PDA and MF in NJ, but most of these players are going to mid-majors, not penn state, Duke, etc.Only 2 or 3 per year from NJ really getting significant athletic money from top ten D1 programs, yet how many of those made the sacrifice to drive all the way up north and back multiple times per week all these years with pipe dreams of Duke, UVA, Notre Dame, Stanford,UNC, etc. in their pipe dreams. If truth be told it is most of them, dozens in each birth year.
Not true again. This year there are 20+ kids from NJ who got big 5 scholies, the great majority play at PDA or MFA, and they all got money. May be much more than 20, I don't have time to research it.
That changes every year and most would put Penn State at the end of any such mix. Top 10 mix of soccer and academics right now:
Stanford, UCLA, Notre Dame, Georgetown, Duke, UNC, Virginia, Southern Cal, Florida all have a better mix. Penn State would be in the mix for the 10th spot IMO.
BTW, almost every one of these programs has kids from PDA and MFA, many with multiple players from those clubs.
Academy schedule is out. What a mess. 5 hours to boston 3,4 times in a year. Virginia and back. 4hrs Connecticut and back a few times. this is about when you realize that 7 to 8,000$ was about right despite everyone saying it wasnt. #wasteofmoneyforaveragesoccer#ooops
You sound like a coach who is scared of losing players or a parent sad that your daughter didn't make the cut. DA is the place to be! ECNL is second best and all the college coachs know it. Stop this fear campaign.
DA=Top D1 ECNL=Low D1 or D2 NPL=Low D2 or Top D3 Everyone else, good luck at ID camps
Don't be fooled. My son played DA and had his choice of 2 top D1 schools. He never sent an email, hired a recruiter, or went to an ID camp. Also, he was not tin the top 4 of his team. He started his sophomore year and would not change missing HS kick ball.
6:55 PM You sound like a pompous A$$ Happy for your "son" Hopefully the college he went to was far enough away that he was able to enjoy his college experience. As long as you were able to buy your kids spots it all works out in the end. If you are speaking truth what were the D1 offers?
6:55 stop kidding yourself . GDA is nothing more then the same players , same coaches, but on a different channel . What about that makes you think it's so superior ? Plenty of talented girls declined the GDA and some of the ones that accepted shouldn't even be there. So tell me what's so special about that?
10:05. "Plenty of talented girls declined the GDA and some of the ones that accepted shouldn't even be there". You couldn't have said it any better. Best blog sentence I've seen in months maybe years.
Hard to believe that anyone seriously went to try-outs, made the team, and then turned it down. I don't know a single player who has turned down an offer to the DA. Keep trying to justify why you think ECNL is better. College coaches have already decided and DA wins their time.
There were girls that tried out for multiple DA teams, and declined to play except for one. What's so hard to understand - there are kids that will decline DA offers.
For those who say they will 'travel to Virginia and boston' - that's not DA. They are split in 2 divisions - Atlantic and Northeast, so that you don't have to travel to both extremes. Although girls from Connecticut or Pennsylvania probably have the shortest trips.
I know of quite a few girls who received calls from a GDA DOC trying to get them over to play DA. Guess what ? Those very talented multi sport players declined to go DA . Not sure why you refuse to believe this . Maybe you need to keep feeding your ego .
I agree if you tried out for the team you accepted an offer or you declined an offer to another team within the club. Remember ECNL and ODP mean nothing when it comes to GDA for girls in these programs HS sports mean nothing if they want the Olympics.
In regards to travel it looks like 26 league games per season (1 per week), looks like a lot of travel pal. Plus events: 1. SUMMER SHOWCASE & PLAYOFFS 2. CHAMPIONSHIPS 3. Futsal Showcases
Northeast 1. Boston Breakers Academy Watertown, Mass 2. FC Fury NY Bay Shore, N.Y. 3. FC Stars Acton, Mass. 4. Long Island SC Plainview, NY 5. Sky Blue - NYSC Chappaqua, N.Y 6. Oakwood Soccer Club Glastonbury, Conn. 7. New York City FC Orangeburg, N.Y.
Atlantic 1. Cedar Stars Academy - Monmouth Tinton Falls, N.J. 2. FC Virginia Chantilly, Va. 3. PA Classics Manheim, Penn. 4. Penn Fusion Soccer Academy West Chester, Penn. 5. Sky Blue - PDA Bernardsville, N.J 6. Virginia Development Academy Woodbridge, VA. 7. Washington Spirit Academy Maryland Boyds. MD. 8. Washington Spirit Academy Virginia Fairfax, Va.
You can try and hype the GDA all you want but it's still just the same players with the same coaches. What do you think is going to be so magical about that ? Either your daughter is a top 1% player or she's not . I'm willing to bet most are not . Your daughters are just being used as the practice players and teammates needed to help advance that one player who is in the 1%. Nothing too magical about that.
Somewhat agree. If you look at the National Team rosters across the board there are not too many that include players from the same club team at the same age. U15 through U20 may contain a trending set of clubs but for the most part the selections are varied throughout the US hence "National Team". The second tier for DA players is that set of players that will be drawn into the umbrella of scouting and be able to catch the attention of a better school by having DA in their team name. The next issue is ECNL vs DA, If I were a college coach I now need to make a decision with my wallet on where to spend my time. Will coaches who have been successful recruiting from ECNL teams cast them aside? I don't think that will be the case initially, but I do believe that over time the ECNL may drop a level as the DA grows legs. I find it all fascinating because there is a lot that goes into scouting a player and having a smaller pool to fish in with bigger fish just makes it easier. I also believe that enterprising minds have found a way to make a good living being a professional coach/DOC/administrator in an amateur environment.
The top 1% not playing at DA will have a hard time being seen. Top College coaches will only go to DA events, that is fact. Other schools will be at ECNL games but in fewer numbers. The soccer world is changing and you must too. Remember when scouts came to HS games? That was not too long ago. If you are not on DA now, you already missed the bus!
Girls Top power 25 power soccer schools will radar in GDA girls. There are over 300 more D1 schools knowing they will not win that race to get those girls so they will look at other leagues and avenues. Soon enough you'll see more girls skipping college for NWSL sorry once I showed my daughter the average salary of a NWSL player first thing she stated "Not Worth It"
girls schedule is on US soccer website. so if i understand it right, its 4 days a week of training. hauling to the facility, 4 training sessions. then leave friday night to boston, va, ct, etc. drive friday, stay over, play sat, stay over sat drive again sunday, two trips to va, two to boston, to far away ct. doing homework in a hotel room or in the car while the girls run around the hallways. say goodbye to grades say goodbye to your wives or husbands say goodbye to money, to sanity. say goodbye to high school ball though there i understand the argument
US Soccer has this all wrong. this is not how you develop the best kids.
Im sure you'll respond saying your daughter didn't make it. Guess again. If you dont agree this is silly, then you must be the person who wants to be away at a tournament situation every single weekend. Respect to you for that, but you have to agree, 99.9% of the kids and families do NOT want that, and worse, many who have signed up don't want it , just feel the need to jump off the bridge with everyone else.
So lets look at the math. 75+% of girls leave soccer from age 13-15. Mostly due to burnout. Now we are going to double the load and think this will make better players.
How about injecting more fun into the game. Less pressure situation play.
I truly believe true freeplay is what will take us to the next level.
DA is the same amount of travel as the Region 1 league. No more chasing GS points so less games per year. Same amount of training days as HS but quality from professional not the art teacher. You don't need a hotel for a field that is less than 3 hours away. Mommy will burn out a kid who doesn't really want it. You can't stop someone from pursuing their dreams. If it is truly the kids dream to play at the highest level possible, DA is the best pathway to fulfilling that dream!
I agree that ECNL is the best now, but get ready for big changes. Your programs who don't offer DA will lie to you and tell you different but remember that this is a business and they need your money more than you need them. Just look at the boys DA and how successful it is.
The question is with the weak pool of talent, mostly weak girls teams across the board with maybe 2 exceptions, and very shady coaching staff on the girls side how long will Cedar Stars keep the DA designation. Now they did recently pick up a very very well traveled player this week, but I hear to get her they agreed to not only she plays free but Cedar Stars will pay all of her families travel, food and hotel bills.
408 is dead on. I'm doing it one year, getting into college and moving on. I can't believe so many girls who have great rides are still doing this. Sad and they will look back and regret. Parents fault for pushing them.
5:40 here. Def not a wildcat parent. Otherwise I would have talked about how my daughter can kick the ball from box to box. Very little good socc r played here. Just diluting talent and iq with DA.
You only have to worry about the travel if you are carded. The worst will be the kids who travel and play 15 minutes. DA is designed for a tiny few kids and a lot of suckers who are along for the ride.
Of course. It's other leagues; clubs; teams are about $$$ too. It's not just ECNL. I am not defending ECNL at all, it's the nature of the sport anymore. Soccer is a business as well.
Most soccer clubs are not classified as a business, they are "Non-Profit." Which means absolutely nothing, since the head of these non-profits take huge salaries for running the program. Even more amusing is that the the head guys don't do much. They pay trainers to teach the kids and pay them an obscenely low amount of money. Steal from the rich (parents) and give to the poor (trainers) but only give enough to survive, not enough to grow!
Bucks might do better now that the ECNL is the new NPL.

They are selling putting players into college not winning national championships. Would winning (attracting better players) help populate the list below with more high profile universities sure it would. But you would have to ask the players if FC Bucks was worth it and if staying at their local would have ended up with the same result.
From what I am told FC Bucks has good coaches but the parent organization is not managed well. The best thing for the kids and ECNL would be for FC Bucks to somehow split away from the CRUSA organization and become their own entity. I'd go as far to say the Ukrainian Nationals would be a better home for the FC Bucks program.
I also think the really talented players who would play FC Bucks end up at PDA or Penn Fusion by the time they are U15 or U16. From Bucks County PA, Eastrrn Montgomery County and NE Philly you can get to both PDA and Penn Fusion (driving right past Continental) in about an hour. With PF no longer in the ECNL I suspect you will see FC Bucks start to get better results.
2017 and 2018 players will be playing at the following colleges:
Allegheny College Arcadia Barton College Bloomsburg Brown University Bucknell Charleston Southern Colgate Columbia University Connecticut College Drexel George Washington Hampton University Kutztown LaSalle McDaniel College Millersville Monmouth Moorehead State University Moravian Mount St. Mary's NJIT Notre Dame Philadelphia University Point Loma Pomona Rochester Institute St. Joseph's University UMBC UNC Charlotte University Villanova Wagner West Chester
They are a few players away from turning it around. That's all. And that's all it takes. Friend's kid on a team that was bottom of conference when she joined. I tried to talk them out of it because the team wasn't good. Now, they are.
And, team I tried to get them to was Bucks because they have good coaches and bones and they were best in PA, then. Mom considered but it was too far for them. Daughter liked what she saw in other team/club.
Only one age group had a respectable season. The rest are pretty abysmal. Club is extremely weak. It should improve some with the DA and ECNL being the new second level, but still will be weak.
The post said "then." It was referencing a friend's daughter that moved to a different club but poster was trying to steer her to Bucks a year or two or three ago. And, that friend's kid went to a club not Bucks which team was not doing so well then and apparently, is now. It's all about timing. And, I agree a few top players can make the difference, still. It will turn around. It's a good club.
FC Bucks is a mess starting at the top and then trickling down. Basically the people of Northampton Township are being robbed. No facilities, coaching and leadership. FC Bucks girls are alive at this point because of ECNL, or else YMS would have completely taken over. ECNL will fade over the next couple of years and so will FC Bucks. You are witnessing the end.
I have heard that about many clubs. btw - Jenn Hoy (NWSL) - FC Bucks alum. Interesting you say that about YMS. Didn't they lose a team to Patriot's FC and some kids are playing with a Pittsburgh team instead of playing at YMS? Not trying to diss YMS, nice club, too, but every club has its down times and turmoil. Part of the business of soccer.
Penn Fusion is currently by far the best club in PA 3 teams 15, 16, 17 in champions league. However, many of the top players on all three of these teams are from Central PA. If PA Classics can get its act together, they could rise up and surpass PF in a few years. Central PA kids including reading and possibly even lehigh (although they have easy access to PDA) area, would be happy for an alternative that keeps them far away from the city.
I agree 9:19 AM. Things need to get better and the current teams at the PAC would have all finished in last or close to last place this year in all the ECNL divisions. There is no doubt that PAC can turn things around and if they do a better job they will pull kids from Central PA and Reading that are now traveling to other clubs.
Recruiting and winning go hand in hand at PF. Without the players they have recruited from central PA over the last few years they would be no better than CFC or FCBucks. No wonder the current animosity on here between PF and PAC. And if the CFC/Philly Union rumor pans out and CFC fields a free GDA in the coming years, PF is done.
It's a shame PAC let their girls programs go to the dumpster. They have a long way to climb up with no credibility in the older ages. their best hope is that some of the 02s come back and the ulittles never go to PF.
If they had done a decent job of offering developmental opportunities to the best players who ultimately went to PF some directly from PAC, they may not have left. No one wants to be the best player by far, pulling everyone else up around them. They needed to offer advanced developmental play ups/boys to some of these kids. Maybe if these players they would have stayed put in Central PA PAC wouldn't be in a hole now. Its going to be embarrassing watching their 01/02 and 99/00 teams this year get destroyed in the DA.
Does anyone even think SK will focus on the girls now anyway? They are at risk of being tossed out of the DA if they can't perform.
Isn't that why they got TW? SK can stay focused on boys as always. The best scenario is to reset with U14s and hope for the best. The club was supposedly into player development while PF was only worried about recruiting. Now classics finds itself looking for recruits bc they realize the results are all that matter as TM figured out many years ago.
The GDA is going to be filled with poor teams. Many of these clubs, like classics have no history of producing top girls teams. Many didn't even exist until this year. Going to be a train wreck. But hey good luck!
PAC never had a good girls program to let "go to the dumpster". Until very recently they were getting PL's leftovers. I believe far more players went to PF from PL than from PAC. Those 2 clubs really should merge. PL's youth development is superb but they have little interest in fielding elite teams. PAC is the exact opposite..
y'all need to give it a chance. I believe the powers that be know this will a couple years of growing pains. Truth is if all but 1 coach are the same at the club, does just adding a new emblem to the team make it better or different? The girls that left are now too old to matter, the local girls see the results and that's where they go. Word is most of the older girls opted for school ball so what does that tell you?
10:10, I'm assuming your kid is probably on PF's DA roster next year? Congratulations. But will your kid leave the bench next year is the real question? If she's not top 11 on that 22 player roster I feel far more sorry for you than envious. I'd rather see my kid out on the field anyday than watching her sit the bench wishing coach would put her in the game.
9:19 there is a reason the central pa kids thrive at PF. It's because of the other top kids there that compliment them. So, it's a co-mingling of talents from a variety of areas. It's nice that central pa wants to take the credit, but not the reality.
Like anything. It's the right mixture of the right kids at the right time very little to do with where they live.
true. some teams that are having current success had central pa kids on them and were not very successful.
i would chalk it up to getting better (all of the kids)/more high level soccer does wonders; some very good players that came in and/or moved up; and playing together. And most importantly, chemistry is the key to most successful teams. you don't get it without playing together.
One central PA Penn Fusion player already made the move to PAC for next season. Wont be a shock if the others follow next year after getting sick of sitting the bench once they combine with the 01's.
@1:11 First off...a little creepy that you're on this blog at that time of night... Second...do you even understand how state cup works? If one player made the move for next fall, how can she be on the primary roster in the last couple months to be eligible for state cup? Stop the hate if you're clueless.
The 99 would not have come off the bench for the PF99/00 team. That team is loaded. If that's the kid you are talking about. And another 2 kids 99 and 01 went to PA Strikers. The question to be asked is were they going to be starters on the 01/02 team or 99/00 team? Answer: not even close. The kid going to PDA? now that's a PF loss...
I'm not the original poster but the real " lol" is that PDA shore attempted to lure many of Boca's players then took a beating. I expected much more from Shore last night. 4-1 and it wasn't even that close. Before any one starts, I'm not saying Boca is the best but they are getting healthier than they were early on and are a reputable team. PDA parents must be asking why they didn't take a look at Boca for half the price.
@856 some one referenced PF going to PAC or PDA in and out of 01/02 age group. There are a few kids doing that. Some will be missed (PDA) others not (PAC).
8:48 Maybe same girl or a 4th but one tried out and was offered but turned down offer. She's 01. Other 01 is def moving over Word is she likes tryouts at multiple clubs.
BOCA has always been good. They challenge the best teams in the region. Rough spring but they get results on a yearly and consistent basis. Due to byc many teams had rough spring here and there. BOCA does not go to PDA tournament, Jeff cup, Bethesda, casl from what I can tell. You have to be at those places at U15. Perhaps Disney this year, or those in the fall at the least at U16
Boca certainly could not be accepted to Disney, CASL or Jefferson Cup with their slim resume. Those events are very selective. P;us next year at U16 there will be many, many more strong teams applying so it will get even tougher to be accepted.
10:43 - ah come on. don't put your search lists on this, i may have to investigate further. and 1 am isn't me. I just do shift work as well you know after roll call.
My turn to chime in...with regards to the pf players supposedly leaving, going to pac etc... How about if I know 100% the state cup play with future pf player didn't happen? Many things are said on here by trolls just to get a reaction. This could've been a pac parent, pf parent or just an everyday blog troll hater. :) PL parent #yeshesaliveandwell

Wildcats are the most overrated team in the state... To bad they couldn't hide the beating they took from Rush!
Good luck. Have to book our flights now
Ouch!
Go ahead and book your flights to lose your games! That's one expensive scrimmage!
Never saw so many college coaches at a showcase as today. Went to two different sites and both had many big schools in attendence.
10:40 - where? PDA tourney?
Yes pda
Go away troll. US soccer was at our game.
Saw MatchFit NPL lost both games this weekend so far. Why isn't Matchfit 2002 ECNL in PDA Tournament?
Matchfit ECNL is playing. Check the ECNL website. The won yesterday and lost today.
On the flip side, gratz to Rush for winning BOTH of their games against top talent! Kitty Cats keep hoping for that win tomorrow! Lol!
If your daughter was playing in top flight with ecnl team why would you be spending your time every day obsessively sweating Wildcats results. Not buying it Mommy your Suzie didn't get into PDA event.
It's not about results anymore guys. It's all about being on a team that can get accepted into these events like PDA.
Yes its about getting your players and teams in into big showcase events. There are no semis or finals.
And the D1 coaches love watching the weak teams getting their butts handed to them. Lets see which crappy kid do I offer a scholarship to?
Your right, none of them! First class here we come!
LVU a powerful team? They got smoked in Jeff cup so again kittens are a thing of the past
Good job Wildcats, don’t let the bastards get you down!
News flash
You will see top power 5 coaches lining the sideline at the "showcase" level games in Chicago if a team on the field has a single stud player.
Parental Confession #1:
I would say you are spot on with your diagnosis of her illness. These are the types of sicko parents who give youth sports a bad name.
Just ignore her she is probably on her laptop spewing hate in the break between games at the Manalapan Memorial Day Tournament with her team.
Cincy cup gold also very impressive this weekend.
Nice work at columbia classics
a bit more detail would be appreciated on the "a few parents with records for stealing..." That sounds a bit juicy. Por favor.

1:26 - all of that is true. And, do kids ball hog; do they stop their runs; do they go after a ball if they lose it; all of this comes into play.
I have to say though some schools if they are not used to getting top kids will take them flaws and all.
Yes but if you are not on a team that gets into these events and gets you exposed no one sees what you can do on the pitch. Exposure is the key.
Very true. That is why you see so much movement in the older teams to the higher level leagues. It's all about getting seen.
Just make sure your player is a starter or at least first or second sub off the bench on a team playing in these events and the exposure will come.
1:42 agreed.
Again just an outsiders opinions.
Otherwise the results reflected that sjeb rush blue is in fact very good. Better than many of the ecnl teams.
9:13 let me see if I get this I'm a little slow.
Foremost, remember that PSU will only take specific players. Don't get fooled into shooting for something she can't achieve. Be realistic
And if she trusts her coach, he/she should be telling her if she's D1,2 or 3 caliber.
Not 100% on coach though...
12:19 PM
1:03 PM
Signed,
Mrs. Soccer Therapist
It also does not look to be club specific however only 3 clubs have 2 players represented. .

Again PSU recruits from ECNL clubs bottom line. If your not on a ECNL team 0% chance to play PSU. Facts are Facts.
I know for a fact that my daughter is better than the (2) 2020’s listed, she would smash them, and crash them, and mash them to dust, she would send them, and bend them, until they were mush.
Thank you Dr. Suess. Your daughter Miss Suess would certainly be a top prospect
Survival of the fittest (or fattest wallet)
I think its fattest, like 3:40, he is really fat, like a cat?
2:32 Isn't that what i'm saying? Not random - meaning player has showed interest already for them to know she is considering the school otherwise it would be random.
okay I guess i'm just clueless
2:49 2017 Roster 28 players
Current Freshman 5 to be replaced by 2021 players = 0
Current Sophomores 9 to be replaced by 2020 players = 2
Current Juniors 7 to be replaced by 2019 players = 5
Current Seniors 7 to be replaced by 2018 = 6
2020 players very much the target age group for Penn State, but what do I know i'm clueless.
3:18 I agree.
Best advise someone gave me. If your daughter is interested in a school look up the roster of that school and see if your daughter has the same accolades. This will give you a much better group of schools to focus on. Good luck
2:49
where did you find the list of commits? Appreciate it.
3:37 - hilarious. thank you for the chuckle. Fractured fairytales; love it.
World Class also has another 2019 Commit there, she just doesn't use topdrawer so she is not listed.
May be much more than 20, I don't have time to research it.
didn't say big 5 conferences meant top 10 nationally in academics and soccer.
9:19 pm
Top Drawer lists the commitments by school.
79 bucks for 2 years is a good investment - for the articles, etc - but you get the commit list for free.
10:54
The journey is its own reward.
DA=Top D1
ECNL=Low D1 or D2
NPL=Low D2 or Top D3
Everyone else, good luck at ID camps
Don't be fooled. My son played DA and had his choice of 2 top D1 schools. He never sent an email, hired a recruiter, or went to an ID camp. Also, he was not tin the top 4 of his team. He started his sophomore year and would not change missing HS kick ball.
6:55 PM
You sound like a pompous A$$
Happy for your "son" Hopefully the college he went to was far enough away that he was able to enjoy his college experience. As long as you were able to buy your kids spots it all works out in the end. If you are speaking truth what were the D1 offers?
Where is the DA schedule posted?
Plus events:
1. SUMMER SHOWCASE & PLAYOFFS
2. CHAMPIONSHIPS
3. Futsal Showcases
Northeast
1. Boston Breakers Academy Watertown, Mass
2. FC Fury NY Bay Shore, N.Y.
3. FC Stars Acton, Mass.
4. Long Island SC Plainview, NY
5. Sky Blue - NYSC Chappaqua, N.Y
6. Oakwood Soccer Club Glastonbury, Conn.
7. New York City FC Orangeburg, N.Y.
Atlantic
1. Cedar Stars Academy - Monmouth Tinton Falls, N.J.
2. FC Virginia Chantilly, Va.
3. PA Classics Manheim, Penn.
4. Penn Fusion Soccer Academy West Chester, Penn.
5. Sky Blue - PDA Bernardsville, N.J
7:41 AM
There are 150,000 registered female soccer players, and only 2 da clubs in NJ (~180 players). That 1% sure plays in other clubs as well.
Really 10:06? Stop drinking the kool aid
Current top ECNL programs are moving to DA.
Their B team will become the ECNL team and quality of league will drop like a rock!
Girls Top power 25 power soccer schools will radar in GDA girls. There are over 300 more D1 schools knowing they will not win that race to get those girls so they will look at other leagues and avenues. Soon enough you'll see more girls skipping college for NWSL sorry once I showed my daughter the average salary of a NWSL player first thing she stated "Not Worth It"
College coaches know where to find talent, they will still go to big tourneys. Plenty of talent outside of the DA even if ECNL loses its luster.
6:44 - get the listing of the clubs right (yes, there is one more) and please contrast travel to other comparable opportunities:
- ecnl travel?
- regional + national league travel?
- multi-sport olympic meets?
Where can you find the DA schedule?
http://www.ussoccerda.com/sam/standings/regevent/index.php?containerId=MzgzNDM0MA%3D%3D&partialGames=0
11:04, its up your arse, get a flashlight.
What's wrong with you?
That link is for boys DA. Where is girls DA schedule?
Simple question no need to be rude...
probably a troll; but humorous, still. Real question is, what size flashlight or do we need a latern?? lol
I see the girls schedule when I open that link. It says 2017-2018 Girls Regular Season in the top left corner
girls schedule is on US soccer website.
so if i understand it right, its 4 days a week of training. hauling to the facility, 4 training sessions. then leave friday night to boston, va, ct, etc. drive friday, stay over, play sat, stay over sat drive again sunday, two trips to va, two to boston, to far away ct. doing homework in a hotel room or in the car while the girls run around the hallways.
say goodbye to grades
say goodbye to your wives or husbands
say goodbye to money, to sanity.
say goodbye to high school ball though there i understand the argument
US Soccer has this all wrong. this is not how you develop the best kids.
Im sure you'll respond saying your daughter didn't make it. Guess again. If you dont agree this is silly, then you must be the person who wants to be away at a tournament situation every single weekend. Respect to you for that, but you have to agree, 99.9% of the kids and families do NOT want that, and worse, many who have signed up don't want it , just feel the need to jump off the bridge with everyone else.
Yeah 4:08, that sounds about right. Its not for everyone, us included, but we wish the girls all the very best...
Boys da successful for pro teams. There is a bonafide reason why the pro teams have an incentive to develop kids. Not so with girls. I dont buy it.
Fyi my kid did not try out but was offered to play da. No interest.
540 is wildcat parent
408 is dead on. I'm doing it one year, getting into college and moving on. I can't believe so many girls who have great rides are still doing this. Sad and they will look back and regret. Parents fault for pushing them.
5:40 here. Def not a wildcat parent. Otherwise I would have talked about how my daughter can kick the ball from box to box. Very little good socc r played here. Just diluting talent and iq with DA.
8:21 Except for the fact that colleges will expect you to continue to play and train at the highest level until you head their way......
Good luck to my beautiful daughter today, and remember, your inheritance depends on how well you play.
Love you lots, toodles!
WC over PF today 4-1.
Wildcats 6 to 1 over tsf in npl edp flight one tuesday
02 PDA ECNL 3
02 PF ECNL 3
You only have to worry about the travel if you are carded. The worst will be the kids who travel and play 15 minutes. DA is designed for a tiny few kids and a lot of suckers who are along for the ride.
Not any different than the bloated ECNL rosters.
Because no other leagues have bloated rosters? Give me a break.
Bloat= $$$$$
nuff said
Congrats to our local ECNL teams for making the National Playoffs, Rockford, Ill, 6/22-6/27.

Great job by all the players, and good luck wherever you play!
No Continental or FC Bucks going to ECNL playoffs. That will be a good showcase, tough one to miss.
PDA makes it across all age brackets for ECNL - Impressive. Saw they knocked PF out at u14 yesterday too, that was not nice..
FC Bucks 2002 ECNL Team is a joke. Non competitive.
BUCKS in general are a joke and should get removed from ECNL
Bucks might do better now that the ECNL is the new NPL.

RE: FC Bucks
Allegheny College
Arcadia
Barton College
Bloomsburg
Brown University
Bucknell
Charleston Southern
Colgate
Columbia University
Connecticut College

They are a few players away from turning it around. That's all. And that's all it takes. Friend's kid on a team that was bottom of conference when she joined. I tried to talk them out of it because the team wasn't good. Now, they are.
And, team I tried to get them to was Bucks because they have good coaches and bones and they were best in PA, then. Mom considered but it was too far for them. Daughter liked what she saw in other team/club.
FC Bucks best in PA at what?
I dont think there will be "poor" teams in GDA
But there will be some SUPERteams that set themselves apart. Those that had an abundance to choose from at tryouts.
Yes FC Stars and PDA Sky Blue teams will be incredible. Many of the rest are going to get slaughtered.
Pretty comparing apples and oranges.
Look at the regional draw...slight difference in population.
Again...give it a chance.
I would expect the Breakers teams to be excellent.
1030 Which team are you saying the older kids elected school ball?
I love when we play against PA ECNL teams, they always bring extra German Potato Salad to drown their sorries, and some even bring utensils...
@11:35 I know classics has this issue. Perhaps others too
PF as well
Wow. Do you people work or just play dress up in your kids soccer uniform all day?
Can't answer for all but I'm sitting here in my tighty whitys..

@1258. No worries buddy. No need to educate me on my kid's future. We are all good. Hope yours are too.
Maybe grow up then and stop spewing hate on this board?
Maybe from PF but probably lives in Central PA judging by the personal beef with PAC
149 what hate?
9:19
there is a reason the central pa kids thrive at PF.
12:14 - best post ever. hilarious
better than being in a diaper playing cards, though
Boca spanks pda shore yet again... lol
One central PA Penn Fusion player already made the move to PAC for next season. Wont be a shock if the others follow next year after getting sick of sitting the bench once they combine with the 01's.
One. wow. Did she play in the state cups for PAC, too?
@1:11
First off...a little creepy that you're on this blog at that time of night...
Second...do you even understand how state cup works?
If one player made the move for next fall, how can she be on the primary roster in the last couple months to be eligible for state cup?
Stop the hate if you're clueless.
Are yoiu perhaps referring to the girl who lost her ride to training for next year?
Wrong age blog no?
9:41 the 'lol' is you felt the need to proudly post that. Now that is funny.
7:19
I believe you are on the wrong blog. I'm talking 02.
Then there are 2 pf girls going to classics in the fall
Word is a third tried out-was not offered. No doubt more 02's next year will head to PAC too once they realize the bench is their new best friend.
What part is a loss? Her bad attitude or how amazing of a teammate she wasn't?
No one is talking about a 99.
8:48
Maybe same girl or a 4th but one tried out and was offered but turned down offer. She's 01. Other 01 is def moving over
Word is she likes tryouts at multiple clubs.
6:52 - creepy you are on so early in the morning. I do shift work at my job too. Gotta make the donuts.
6:52 - it's called discovery player. Want to call me clueless? #smacked arss go back to tipping your cows.
Boca certainly could not be accepted to Disney, CASL or Jefferson Cup with their slim resume. Those events are very selective. P;us next year at U16 there will be many, many more strong teams applying so it will get even tougher to be accepted.
1:11am is that you?
Get some sleep buddy!
discovery player is ecnl bud not pac
#smacked arss go back to surfing porn and youth bloggin in the middle of the night
read the 12:14 post on the above recommendation and agree; thumbs up; very clever.
now if i could just cut myself out of kid sized soccer shirt.
10:43 - ah come on. don't put your search lists on this, i may have to investigate further. and 1 am isn't me. I just do shift work as well you know after roll call.
Hey 1043 i'd like to chime in - the comment had to do with an ECNL player and PAC. discovery player certainly could have been an option.

Discovery player = guest player.
They train with their main club and can play in ECNL games.
Who is PL?
11:32
Penn Legacy but I think his daughter plays for Rage now .
ahh. t/y. no wonder they are enRAGEd.
someone told me about this site. It's informative, nasty, sarcastic and witty. Feels like holidays with relatives. good stuff. keep it up.
12:22 you got it!
