U16 young women players are not playing for fun, they are playing to win.

Best to step aside, because they are about to barrel through...

Thanks, my bad
I thought there was new info. Seen this

The GDA couldn't find anyone with more experience to head the program?

Anonymous said...

Rosie O'Donnell wasn't available
She's on her way to Canada

Anonymous said...

I love the Rush parent predicting the BIG win at Jeff Cup! I think Rush is going to get crushed!

Anonymous said...

@12:16 - she has a lot of international experience and has been around the game forever. It's a solid pick. She is going to get the girls ready to play overseas as well.
And, wants to promote the leadership roles as far as girls and coaching. Most likely, future college and academy head coaches will come from these GDA ladies. It's probably a soccer distinction that will be needed on one's resume at some point.

Anonymous said...

I guess the head of ECNL turned them down.

Anonymous said...

Just read up on her, this is what took them over a year to find? I have been around the game forever too, you wouldn't want me running this train wreck.

Anonymous said...

10:36- PAC and PDA are in the same Group. Only one will go to championship.

Group A is loaded, Group B teams not as exciting. A- it'll be a battle for sure. B- no clue really. Not familiar with SJEB 02 team.

Anonymous said...

100% a team from B wins the final.

Anonymous said...

Who? No chance

Anonymous said...

Sounds like World Class won't be fielding GDA teams in the fall either. Going to farm them out to NYCFC so they can keep their ecnl teams and the $ they bring in. We'll see how many of the other ecnl clubs have a change of heart now that the ecnl has given them an ultimatum that they can't do both.

Anonymous said...

ECNL gave that ultimatum some time ago.

Anonymous said...

Just saw Whitney Engen is walking away from the Boston Breakers and Carli Lloyd just signed a pro contract with Manchester city. Top players continue to retire or defect to Europe on an almost weekly basis. At this rate I'm not even sure how long the NWSL holds on.

Anonymous said...

Yes but every club thought they were going to make exceptions.

Anonymous said...

The WCFC and NYCFC partnership must be the big news that was mentioned previously, very interesting development. If true, that sets up a whole new dynamic for the GDA, in that perhaps other MLS clubs will get involved, or perhaps NYCFC will start a NWSL franchise in a few years. For any female player with aspiration of pro, or NT exposure, this has got to be the place to be. There will be dozens of college scouts at their showcase games, with scholarships in-hand.

Anonymous said...

Have never heard about the ecnl rule. We were told that girls can move up from ecnl to play GDA during fall when others leave to play HS. And there could be as many as 7 allowed to play HS Ball and will be approved by DOC.

Anonymous said...

There will be no NWSL in a few years, it's not federal funded. Even if it stays around, it's a part time, low paying job. After college only chance to continue dream is natl team. All this for thirty spots among tens of thousands of elite players over ten years plus of age groups. And very subjective in the end. Think college as a realistic end game,

Anonymous said...

I agree, there is no future for 99% of all female players past college, so the GDA is just an additional revenue stream for USSF, nothing more. ECNL will continue to be the top league in this country for the near future, and my daughter is more than happy where she is, even if her HS team sucks, she likes the other girls, and its not that bad being the best player in her school, as a freshman.

Anonymous said...

Narcissism is a beautiful thing!
Plus she may get her name in the paper!!! Yay!

Anonymous said...

7:57, spoken like a real man, push your CPAC morals on everyone else, FU : )

Anonymous said...

haha, just put a smiley face after FU and it's all good!
The political butt hurt comes out everywhere!!!

Anonymous said...

7:43 - somebody has to stand out in high school. I run into some that peaked in high school. "glory days" I normally tip them well.

Anonymous said...

And they probably put a little "extra" in your food.

Anonymous said...

HOLD ON, SLOW DOWN!!! Yes, their are huge opportunities over seas for professional soccer for our young girls. remember that. It is much bigger over seas, number one in all time slots, stadiums are packed, sold out, Germany, South America, even Mexico sells out many games. The girls side can be an option for women soccer players over seas to continue a career.

Anonymous said...

Something tells me that Mexico and Germany may not be all that welcoming to Americans wanting to work there for the time being. Better plan on sticking it out in the "great again" old usa.

Anonymous said...

12:28 - kind of hard to do as the uber driver.

Anonymous said...

@12:49 - agreed. And, may be why WNT players are heading overseas, too.

Anonymous said...

1228 Ha Thus the reason why NWSL players are going over seas not because better training because more $. Uber Drivers make more money than the a NWSL player.

Anonymous said...

Why would you not go and play the game you love for better money?
These ladies are also going to some good clubs overseas
Especially if you're shoe in for NT already

Anonymous said...

You are talking top players with a NT rep. Not true for others - but each has an individual story.

"The minimum salary for an NWSL player is $6,842 for the course of the six-month season; the maximum is $37,800, made primarily by international-level players. The team salary cap for 20 players is $265,000, which doesn’t include the top U.S., Canadian and Mexican players who play on club teams but whose salaries are paid by their respective federations." YES the USSF pays their salary and you want GDA to be free also?

"WSL from anywhere from £5000-£10000 on the lower spectrum for players who aren't professional up to around the £35,000 mark for the top earners. “The majority of centrally contracted players earn about £20,000 from their clubs, but there are players in the WSL who are on as little as £50 a week”.

German "Clubs provide players with jobs. So it is hard differentiate what they earn from playing at what they get from their other jobs. Most players probably can get a long with their pay but there's not much left for after the career."

"Sweden may be a candidate for point 3 since female Soccer players earn about the same as in Germany and France"

"In France l'equipe had a great article about the economy of women's football.
Number of professional player is 96 out of 234 in the Division 1 feminine.
Highest wage is 17 000€/month for Lotta Schelin average wage is 3 700€ per month.
The average wage figure is distorted by the PSG and OL contracts, without those 2 teams the avarage wage is below 1 000€ per month"

Anonymous said...

My point is they are going over seas for the quality of play not the money or maybe the money for some.

Untile they come up with a World league

NWSL - North American Conference
UEFA - European Conference
Japan - Asian Conference

take the top 2 teams every year and play a champions league with some serious $$$ payouts the womesn game will never get paid. What I just would be easy for TV and stadiums would be full if you market the right way. But then again I have an idea for pro/rel in the USA also for the MLS. MLS1 = 18 teams and MLS2 relegate 6 of the 24 teams from MLS1 and add the 12 cities that want an expansion team - two leagues of 18 teams. Work out a revenue sharing plan first to pay back teams their expansion fees then add MLS3 and let teams earn the revenue earned. Simple.

Anonymous said...

Carli and Alex both are headed overseas. Both, were on the "Equal Pay" campaign for US Mens v. Women's team. Funny, how both crossed the pond but each is getting 7 figures. Now, the pay is not wrapped up in team salary. Signing bonus, appearance fees, european sponsors not counting US sponsors. Carli and Alex are both huge draws in Europe. Carli is the FIFA player of the year! More players are going to head over. Look for Hope Solo to be next. She is in Europe now "vacationing!"

Anonymous said...

They deserve 7 figures
Hope is also far away from cops and courtrooms in Europe :)

Anonymous said...

plenty of opportunity for ladies in future years. Coaching, training, any college coach or asst coach is going to make decent money. And they can also play wpsl, or whatever, nwsl. Then train, coach on the side. One team can create revenue of $5-$10,000 per year in training and coaching, maybe more if a doc or private training. A ladies soccer career certainly go on and on till you retire especially now that more ladies are playing. look at u16, u15 etc.
AD positions, so on and so forth.

Anonymous said...

And Yes, Hope will find a home in Europe I believe. 7 figures, sure, why not. girls love soccer like boys. hence why we are on this blog.

Anonymous said...

HaHa pay to play to train in U.S. from youth levels only to move on over seas. Do I see something wrong with that picture. Isn't it the other way around for other sports in the U.S. players flock to our professional teams Hockey, Basketball, Baseball. Again you people are looking at it all backwards. Build up the soccer brand here in the U.S. pay the women a better market value and market the MLS/NWSL better.

Build it and they will come!

Anonymous said...

Why rob a bank? "Thats where the money is!" Why play overseas? Thats where the money is!! Simple terms. Longevity in professional soccer is short. Go to where soccer is loved!!! Why do you think baseball players defect from their own countries to play here... TO GET PAID!!! They did build it, and they came but they built baseball and not soccer. Then we took the word football, the worldwide term for our beloved sport and gave it a new identity with helmets, pads, and an oblong ball that cannot be dribbled and paying these players millions. Oh well!! Have great weekend!

Jeff Cup Predictions:

Championship
NJEB Rush over PDA
Very tough call, like Pipeline a lot...

Elite Orange
North United over NJ Wildcats
CASL ECNL is the darkhorse here...

Elite Black
South Shore over NJ Crush
HMMS has had a rough year, can they rebound...

Anonymous said...

Lol Rush your smoking crack. How about stop fantasizing and making predictions and let the girls play and then come in this stupid form and say wow great job girls!

Anonymous said...

Agree with Rush - they are playing well again after the age group change. PDA should be a good challenge though.

Anonymous said...

Here's my prediction. Rush doesn't make it out of the bracket.

Anonymous said...

Isnt that the same Rush that Pipeline and PAC both beat at Bethesda?

Anonymous said...

Same team went 10-3 since then losing once to a lower ranked team.

Penn fusion and pipeline are within .5 ranking points - they have a good chance of winning too.

Anonymous said...

10am, why don’t you just take your soccer ball, and go home, no one wants to play with you...

Anonymous said...

What points?
Got soccer?
Really believe you are that good?
What happened last year when you went out west and played real teams?

Anonymous said...

Because Got Soccer is so accurate with their rankings????? Ha! The only thing you can judge these teams by is what they have done since Fall. Rush won't win JC. Either will PF. Mediocre performances at best so far.

PDA will.

Anonymous said...

Gotsoccer? that's so yesterday dude. Youthsoccer rankings gives a clear picture based on the teams they played and the score in those games.

38.05 SJEB RUSH ACADEMY BLUE (NJ)
37.85 PIPELINE SC BLACK (MD)
37.47 WORLD CLASS FC ECNL (NYE)
37.43 PENN FUSION SA ECNL (PAE)
37.35 NJ WILDCATS AVERBUCH NPL (NJ)
37.22 NORTH UNITED SC FC RUSH (PAW)
37.04 PLAYERS DEVELOPMENT ACADEMY STORM ECNL (NJ)

And this includes all their games played regardless. SJEB would be the favorite by a goal head to head vs Storm based on their games played this season. Storm's score might below since they played only 3 games but it will adjust once they start playing their league games.
But as of now -SJEB tops in the region, let's check back after Jefferson cup and see if they still are.

Anonymous said...

LOL! You people and your rankings.

Anonymous said...

My daughters team played Rush in the Fall. I was not impressed with anything i saw so this talk is a head shaker.

Anonymous said...

The PDA teams do NOT chase points! When will you all get it through your heads! The teams are all changed this year and I guarantee the PDA teams are going to Crush these other teams. Like what I did with that? (Crush). Again I am predicting Rush will not make it out of the bracket so we'll see in a few weeks. For you Rush parents, PDA will have some openings this tryout rotation due to the DA so come on up and try your luck!

Anonymous said...

Rush is not very good. They have a couple good girls but not a ton of technical skill love to kick and chase.

PA Classics plays a much nicer controlled game of soccer.

Pipeline big and fast and athletic. Not that skilled. Like to kick and chase as well.

Anonymous said...

This is the year kick and run teams collapse. As the good teams have been training their kids to play the game gracefully. Lots of control and passing. The defenders will be matched step for step with the fast forwards. These kids have all evened out for the most part regarding speed. Teams are doing speed and agility and lifting weights now. U15 soccer is the real deal and we will see who is left standing in May. So enough with you parents bragging about got soccer points and rankings it means zero! See you all in May to see which of you are crying and making excuses!

Anonymous said...

7:44

I would agree. Have seen all 3 play. There will be some great games I'm sure. Colleges will certainly be present.

Anonymous said...

Keep in mind, colleges are looking for the big, fast, athletic girls. Careful what you wish you.

Anonymous said...

Who cares about technical ability right?

Anonymous said...

8:05
You're probably right. Judging by the ecnl way and women's soccer NT currently.
Long ball to the forwards, see who stays on her feet to collect the ball

Anonymous said...

I think the top of college is changing a bit. Look at usc and west va. Both played giod soccer and not all girls 5-8 plus. I wish west va was a better school because they play really nice soccer.

Anonymous said...

Sorry but, my vote is for Rush 02 as well for Jeff Cup. Looking who they beat on YSR, you have to lean toward them. Should be great to view.

Anonymous said...

But they couldn't beat Pipeline or PAC in the Fall.....

Anonymous said...

I think PAC is the underdog in this one.
I now I'm not placing any bets!!! This will a tough but great to watch weekend!!!

Anonymous said...

9:13 YSR tells a different story. They do well vs teams under 37

but vs teams 37+

Wins
4-1 SOLAR SC CHELSEA ECNL [37.56]
2-1 ARSENAL FC BROWN [ 39.0]

Lost
0-2 NATIONALS UNION BLACK [39.65]
1-4 LEGENDS FC ACADEMY 1 [ 39.20]
1-2 TENNESSEE SC TN SHOWCASE [37.13]
2-3 PIPELINE SC BLACK [ 37.79]

Anonymous said...

Rush has lost their size advantage with age change.

Anonymous said...

Oh and here so it begins....
Next will be "their top strikers and goal keeper were injured and didn't play this weekend" !!! You're killing me!!!

Anonymous said...

1:00 sorry that's been a PDA excuse for many years already taken.

Anonymous said...

How about a honest "our girls choked vs the competition"
It happens to every team at some point.
This will a great weekend, some tears but some cheers too hopefully!

Anonymous said...

You better hope u are in pda bracket and college coaches come to see them. I saw one coach at Bethesda. College so bad i cant remember the name.

Anonymous said...

Jeff Cup much better venue.
Don't forget this is U15 either...

Anonymous said...

NYCFC Confirms the rumors. They are in the GDA.

New York City FC are delighted to announce the NYCFC Girls Soccer Academy.

The new Academy program will provide an elite training environment for girls across four age groups (U-14, U-15, U-16/17 & U-18/19), offering the highest level of technical standards and competition for New York’s brightest young talent.

Launching in Spring 2017 and in conjunction with NYCFC Youth Affiliate World Class FC, the New York City FC Girls Academy will join the U.S Soccer Development Academy. The Academy will play out of World Class FC’s Orangeburg location, one of the nation’s top soccer-specific facilities, and opposite the Club’s under-construction City Football Academy elite training facility.

Sporting Director Claudio Reyna said: “We’re delighted to be launching this Academy which will provide high quality soccer coaching, and a genuine pathway to U.S Youth National teams and top collegiate programs.”

“This is a significant moment in the history of our club as NYCFC make a commitment to girls soccer and announce an Academy which we believe will contribute to the bright future of the women’s game in the tri-state area.

“With more than 1.5 million girls playing soccer in the US, including more than 200,000 in New York, there has never been a more exciting time to be involved in the game.”

Jon Patricof, President of NYCFC, said: “City Football Group has demonstrated its dedication to the women’s game with the launch of Manchester City Women in 2014 and Melbourne City Women in 2016. Both teams have since gone on to win their league titles, and we are so happy to build on that success with the launch our own girls Academy program.

NYCFC Girls Academy will be led by Director of Coaching, Kazbek Tambi, who has significant experience as a coach and player, taking the U.S U-17 National Team to the final of the 2008 FIFA Women’s U-17 World Cup, and coaching current U.S. Women’s internationals and professional players, including Morgan Brian, Crystal Dunn and Lindsey Horan. Tambi joined World Class FC 7 years ago and has developed many of the top metropolitan players over the last 20 years.

The program is part of the new U.S. Soccer Development Academy Initiative, also supported by four MLS clubs FC Dallas, LA Galaxy, San Jose Earthquakes and Orlando Soccer Club.

Girls aged 14 to 19 years old who are interested in playing for NYCFC Girls Academy should inquire about registration by emailing info@nycfcgirlsda.com and visiting our website to register for more information.

SJEB Rush was not playing as well in the fall. They had a new coach and with the club merger there was significant player turnover. Their performance later in the National League in NC and FL, against very tough competition, leads me to think that they are on the rise. Very talented, don't understand the need to disparage them.

Conversely, Pipeline was playing extremely well early in the season but has had some surprising results since then. Again, very talented group.

7:44. Pipeline has defeated Pa Classics THREE times this year. I think Pipeline is better.

Anonymous said...

Pipeline was able to tie PAC in the Wags final, with 1 second left in the game, thanks to a bad ref call who gave them a PK and then only by winning a very close PK battle and at Bethesda on a late corner kick that curved into the goal. Doesn't make them better. Makes them lucky. They will lose to PF in their bracket.

Anonymous said...

Great job WC. Who will be left to play ECNL. Not the NPL team?

Anonymous said...

This is Great for WC, will have players playing DA, ECNL and NPL. Great move.

Anonymous said...

What exactly is under construction at WC? Their facility is already a good size and one of the better ones in the tri state area. Whoever posted the DA announcement must have inside info on the new facility.

Anonymous said...

NYCFC is building their training fields across the street from WC.

Anonymous said...

Wow NYCFC that's huge news

Anonymous said...

Stating that a team plays kick/run is a not a knock on the kids. They can only do what they've been taught. It's directed at the poor training they've received over the years. I've seen Rush play a few times. Very athletic. Very determined. A few with good feet. But they play kick/run. They don't play as a unit. They play as 11 individuals. That's the fault of the prior and current coach, not the kids. Athletic kick/run may get you a lot of points and trophies when you're young, but not being taught how to play as a team will eventually catch up with them.

Anonymous said...

Penn Fusion will win their group (squeaking by in points) and will face PDA in finals but not stand a chance. 3-0 PDA. Group A games will be great to watch. That's where I expect most college coaches to be.

Anonymous said...

2:50 The only teams able to be beat a athletic "kick/run" team is an athletic team that can move the ball with a strong defense or a better"kick/run"team.

At the end of the day it's about the kids, if they play "kick/run" and win then they have players that finish no? There are a few players in PA that have nothing but speed, no one cares they don't have a first touch or can't pass because they score that's what they will get paid to do and that's what they do and that's all that matters. Big defenders that just boot the ball,so they can't play out of the back but the player's don't get past them either so they are doing what they do, who cares the style of play of the team. By now you see all that matters are the results.

3:57 I like your PDA pick.

Anonymous said...

It will be a battle, but I predict PDA teams in all three bracket finals.

Anonymous said...

American society is all about the results, not about the process or training
Quick, feel good, emotional and that's why our soccer is in the shape it's in.

Anonymous said...

6:42, I would say 2/3 finals at Jeff Cup, since we are going to smash the Dragons.

Anonymous said...

Except there are 4 PDA teams there. #stepdaughter

Anonymous said...

Your right I stand corrected there are 4 PDA teams in Jeff Cup and looking at it the Dragons probably have the hardest schedule playing all ECNL teams. So it might be 3/4 lol. I tell you what it will not be though is RUSH! LOL!

Anonymous said...

Dear God, the Realfeel temperature for Saturday mornings Manhattan KOC, is 17 degrees!!!!!!!!

I truly pity the girls, and some parents, but not all, some deserve it, and please don't hide in your car, try to show your child you are there for her, set an example.

Anonymous said...

Look, I doubt Storm makes it to finals. I saw them play at casl, unless improved I cannot see them making finals. I watched 75% of the match. Cleveland Pipeline versus PA Classics. But again with byc still all falling out. Cleveland is very good, lethal attack, we played them in fall. PF has hard time scoring. Pipeline is most improved team in the brackets.. although I do not really know about East Meadow, MD

Anonymous said...

8:08 not just American society. The euros or latinos even more. Talk to one about a game they will straight up tell you who sucks and who is good in their opinion with no PC stuff. They are all about results, their results are just better when it comes to futbol.

Anonymous said...

Did anyone watch the WNT last night and see Press's amazing drive to the net. Hmm! She was a HS standout USSF. Actually most of the WNT were HS standouts.

They are going backwards.

Anonymous said...

Give it a rest...
Your daughter doesn't need to play GDA
She can shoot to be a HS standout
Some else's daughter may choose differently.
Get over it...

Anonymous said...

THANK YOU 10:43

Anonymous said...

Give what a rest the failing system that is going in place of something that isn't broken. WNT #1 in the world nothing what is there to fix.
Oh my daughter did choose GDA I feel sorry for because she is sadden she will miss her teenage social life for HS. Hopefully she will pull what many boys have done committed early and play Sr. year of HS at least.

GDA Mom

Anonymous said...

Tough choice but a choice to make nonetheless
So will you stand on the sidelines cursing and jeering USSF?

Anonymous said...

I will be cheering on my daughter just like every other mom will be. Nobody cheers for the team anymore at that level because it's all about the individual statistics to play and continue to gain recognition to either stay or be pulled back in YNT rosters.

Anonymous said...

Then you're not the normal U15 mom!!
Goodness, there should be a reality show for the sidelines!!! :)

Anonymous said...

Regardless of path, pray that your daughter does not fly too high, too fast. Mine did, and now she's out mid-year, likely not to return to the game, even HS. I look back to see what could have been done differently. We probably should have held her back at a less intense level of play, but we did leave her decisions up to her. However, she may have been making her decisions based on what she thought others wanted, not what she wanted. An important distinction.

Anonymous said...

I agree with u mom
At least in high school it's a team sport and it's about winning and losing.
It's not about just one two kids
You guys can give it a rest, pretty sure u are the freaks on sideline

Anonymous said...

10:26 - you know how old she is right? She played hs 14 yrs ago. The high school game in 2003 mattered. College coaches came out to games. Not as many girls played club soccer if at all. Soccer was not the #1 sport; not even close. A child could play multiple sports even in DI college back then. The landscape of sports have changed forever in all sports. Club sports has done that to all of them, unfortunately.

Anonymous said...

I'm sure you GDA fans know all about the Training centers. How long do they last and when will the next round start? Do they still have combines and do you think this will continue when the new league starts?

Anonymous said...

It wasn't 14 years ago and I'm sure every girl at that team would say they loved playing for their HS. I have not spoken to a single parent or girl who likes this, not one. Quick qustion, what is your home life like and how many friends does your daughter have?

Anonymous said...

And here we go...
Why must the defensive claws come out?
There's the U15 sideline I'm used to...
IT"S A TOUGH CHOICE but make one and stop belittling other people with differing opinions.

Local ECNL teams in action this weekend:

Albertson Fury ECNL
Boston Breakers Academy ECNL

PDA ECNL
World Class FC ECNL

Anonymous said...

Can anyone answer why there are ECNL teams in the fourth bracket playing NPL teams when they could have been in the second bracket? Fourth bracket seems a mess!

Anonymous said...

It looks as if if we're not top bracket they just moved teams around that would never play each other or never seen each other. Again this was difficult for Jeff Cup as well, I'm just be glad they didn't group them like CASL did.

Anonymous said...

7:22
You better hope those ecnl teams win then....or you may have to eat crow

Anonymous said...

7:22 definitely a Dragon’s parent, trying to throw you off his trial, which is too bash.

Anonymous said...

Ecnl has weak teams just like every other league. Look at the bucks and most of the MF teams. That why these teams are in these brackets.

Anonymous said...

looking back on comment about kick and run. My daughter is a goal keeper and can punt deep, well over 50-60 to other keeper even, by mistake. as most can I am sure. she has had assists on her punts. And most matches are 1-0 0-0 2-0, yes edp top level. So Yes, you can score on kick and run. and of course to play feet, possession is key. But if you have a lethal striker and you need a goal, my daughter will punt deep and give a chance for striker, it works, rarely, but it works. do not discount kick and run, ever. it happens even in professional soccer, just watch. it is more of a through ball lets call it, but it happens every day

Anonymous said...

PDA cancels ECNL game against WCFC, rumors that the Russian’s hacked their offensive playbook.

Stay tuned

Anonymous said...

Yes, 12:07

This is why the posters that degrade "kick and run" are not responded to on these boards. Part of the game.

Anonymous said...

I agree Kick and Run an aspect of the game some teams DO it more than others yes. DO other teams play build up from the back yes, DO some teams play the wings more yes. Again many variations of how to mold parts the game in 90 mins of play. It's up to the coach to figure out what suites the team the best as he is dealt the players he chooses.

Some people confuse kick and run to Backs & Midfielders playing kickball, when a ball approaches them there first instinct is to kick it up the field versus controlling and making a smarter decision with it afterwards.

Anonymous said...

12:07 - watch the NT games. They very rarely punt the ball. We went to the US vs. Germany game. I didn't see one punt. And, in the prior game, maybe just one. It's about possession not outkicking coverage.

One of my daughter's is a keeper as well and can punt and put the ball just outside the other keeper's box. She has learned to place her kicks. And, has had many assists, before she started playing high level. It's not recommended. In fact, she has been specifically told not too.

Anonymous said...

Yeah you don't see punts very often in international play. Frankly it is very seldom the go handles the ball

Anonymous said...

Instead of punt the gk rolls it to a back and they pass it back and forth developing "possession" minutes. Then when pressured they boot a fifty fifty upfield and hope. Not the kind of possession with a purpose to which I personally think we should aspire. Also who got the assist on our only U17 WC run of play Goal against Japan? Yup the GK although off a goal kick. The second goal in stoppage was a gift after a great tackle. Just sayin...I hope my children are trying to gain the skills and tactics to play a more sophisticated game than our US NTs seem to be content to demonstrate. But that's just me.

Anonymous said...

7:22 come on man... everyone knows there's bad ECNL teams just like there are bad NPL teams. Just cause you play in that league doesn't mean you are necessarily good

Anonymous said...

10:01 you refuse to understand that tactics can be dictated by opponents

10:01 - oh wait how did U17's finish in the WC? Oh right. Didn't get out of pool play. An occasional goal against the run of play (btw my daughter's friend (a GK) has had those too; actually has several goals as a gk). But, now that she plays high level, does not punt it as much.

And, it's not our NT's, only. It's how it's played. And agreed, punt to release pressure not just to punt. As you said it's a 50/50 wish ball. Most times, not won by the kicking team. And also agree, the kids have to play the game not by a script.

Yeah, Japan had 13 goals and 2 against; conversely, US had 9 goals and 6 against. And, Japan 3 wins and US 1 (Paraguay). Lastly and most importantly, Japan was in the finals that went to PK's. Not sure that's a good example (10:01) as far as how to play to get the best result.

Anonymous said...

And, 6 of the US goals came against Paraguay and 1 against. So, but for Paraguay, US may have had (would have had) a negative goal differential.

back to GDA talk...
How are clubs evaluating their existing players? Was told of scrimmages and some early looks before tryouts

Anonymous said...

PDA has their 10 locked up. To unseat them you will have to demonstrate you are much better than their kid in that spot in the games you play against them. You dont play them? Uh-oh. You may not have any shot. But dont worry you didn't have a shot anyway.

Cedar Crush and NYC dont have many good kids so you have a shot there. Nyc will have at least one ubertalented girl. Not sure with cedar crush. Not much to work with.

Anonymous said...

Everything is on hold with GDA. More changes coming soon.

Anonymous said...

9:02
What does that mean?
9:00
So PDA only has 10 on their roster ?

Anonymous said...

With Youth Soccer Rankings USA now shut down, looks like Got Soccer is it!! The horror!

Anonymous said...

Crush has nothing to do with Cedar Stars GDA

Someone needs to take this job over from him!! I don't have the time either!
GS has become worthless. Just focus on the fact that it's all about contacting colleges now....

Great ecnl game yesterday, WC 7 PDA -3.

Was a joy to watch, almost cried...

Anonymous said...

I thought they were all cancelled? What age group? Sounds like a rec score.

Anonymous said...

SAY IT ISN'T SO!!
I thought PDA was the best global team!!!!

Anonymous said...

Lt em steal the upcoming posters' thunder....

"it wasn't an important game"
"our main gk didn't play"
"our best players didn't play"
"my daughter had a dance recital"
"it was my daughter's bday"
"it was really cold"

Nice team, WC '02s

PDA Storm's top players went to U16

Anonymous said...

HaHa let the PDA excuses begin! What will be Storm's excuse at Jeff Cup as well.

Anonymous said...

So explain how WC is in the third bracket at Jeff cup? Wondering if I should change my Jeff cup prediction from PDA to East Meadow? :o

Anonymous said...

Isn't PDA's 02 goalie on the U15gnt? 7 goals against?

Anonymous said...

Jeff cup needs to change bracket quickly. Is this fake news?

Anonymous said...

Correction: WC 02's are in the 4th bracket.

Anonymous said...

Schedules are out. Nothing changing.

Anonymous said...

Are they that good? Or is storn that bad? 7 goals against?

Anonymous said...

hahaha, bunch of Trump supporters in this bunch, hahahaha.

PDA did not play WC on Sunday, morons.

Anonymous said...

Trump supporters don't post fake news, sounds more like your people.

Anonymous said...

And a Duke commit as a defender for PDA

Shows just how good WC has become with their new additions

Anonymous said...

I thought I heard it was 9-1 WC

heh

Anonymous said...

I think the Russians are involved with PDA. They misread their name as Pravda

Anonymous said...

Jeff cup brackets were unpredictable just like many others tournaments this year. Outside the top flight they spread many teams apart who normally do not see each other is the way I see the bracketing logic. If you look at all the ECNL teams bracketed together at CASL and how close those games were and look how they are bracketed for Jeff Cup there is no other explanation.

The big question is if PDA Storm moved girls up to 01's will the 02's end up as a bottom tier team along with (Bucks, Match Fit, Conneticut FC, Continental FC), heading into the ECNL spring season. Will they move good NPL players up?

my bad, I watched a game yesterday at WC thinking it was PDA vs WC. It actually was WC 2002 Scrimmaging another team. I am a dumb a***.

Anonymous said...

Our club had a scrimmage too. Why was it too cold to play a game but warm enough to scrimmage?

Anonymous said...

Hahahaha - no just leather goods on the brain. Reminds me, I need a new pair of shoes.

Anonymous said...

Makes sense then... I could see WC 02 beating PDA 02 in a close game but not 7-3 or whatever the poster said it was. Can't trust this board.

Anonymous said...

PDA was the one that cancelled so not sure how it was the weather that caused that game to get cancelled. And the WC 2002's did scrimmage. Weather was a bit chilly but girls were fine

Anonymous said...

It's based on the weather forecast for bitter cold weather. Happened in December too and other clubs still played in bitter cold.

Anonymous said...

Yes, weren't the PDA vs. Continental games cancelled in December when it was cold, my recollection? Seems like ages ago. Soccer is like dog years anymore. :)

Anonymous said...

I think you are right. The PDA ECNL games were cancelled. I don't think the NPL games were.

Anonymous said...

Dumb idiots! Fake news! There was NO PDA-World Class game was cancelled! Idiots!

Anonymous said...

Yikes! Not a big deal. Calm down now 10:29.

Anonymous said...

It was a little cold but C'mon.

EDP Flight 1 had games TSF Academy 2002G 4-3 win FC Berna Legacy 02 Black

Move on PDA parents. You're the best. Get off this page!

When your the best there's going to be haters! LOL! Everyone wants to be you because little Susie can't make the cut so you can be in the cool kids club. LOL!

From yesterday:

"Everything is on hold with GDA. More changes coming soon.

Please enlighten us with this. What are you saying or just contributing to rumors?

Anonymous said...

Continental FC Delco tied SJEB 2-2 in a friendly this past Saturday. SJEB will struggle this year.

Anonymous said...

The "one game" analysis is always fruitless.
We all know that every game is a new game at this age.
Why bother...and my daughter plays on neither team.

Anonymous said...

PDA had a scrimmage last night against Solar Chelsea TX, it was played in Carson, California, attendance 103,000!!!

Anonymous said...

real quick on pda thing. We are non-ecnl, played them a couple of times, and always beat them. not recently, but certainly last 2-2.5 years.
With playing the ball back to keeper. You have to be dynamic and do what is best at that time. If down 1-0 and 5 minutes left why not punt up to ODP striker standing at top salivating for ball with tired defenders. Mostly for sure you should maintain possession, play feet, switch field as keeper between left and right. Roll ball out, throw out. Even goal kicks should be played to defender who can beat a 1 on 1 or pass ball up to mid or strikers. And be sure to pass back to keeper under pressure so keeper can re-distribute

Anonymous said...

ODP striker? Wow. I bet she's awesome.

Anonymous said...

PDA will win all divisions. Even the ones their not playing in.

Anonymous said...

Real quick, on the real quick about PDA, contrary to popular belief, yes they can lose.
However, this ODP striker, does anyone else support her work stoppage??

Anonymous said...

Hysterical game analysis in regard to Continental FC v. SJEB Rush. Scrimmage ends in tie, Rush will struggle. LOL.... Yep, you called it! I'm shocked no article was written about the game on Soccer Wire.

Anonymous said...

Yes 9:53
I'm a Bernie supporter and also support the ODP striker.
After having played in the championships, all the kids are tired.
Let's please allow them to all be strikers. Their the ones that win the games anyway...when they're not striking.

Anonymous said...

Great scrimmage last night

NJ WILDCATS AVERBUCH 0
ALBERTSON FURY 3

Anonymous said...

I doubt the wildcats lost to albertson. They just played all weekend in their own tournament. And the point the other person was making about punt and run is understood. Whether the player is odp, striker or whatever you want to call her.

Anonymous said...

9:45 LMAO

Who the hell plays ODP anymore?

Anonymous said...

Let me understand for a second a team has an ODP Striker (i guess that means she is good else why say ODP striker and just not striker), so the team has played 75 minutes and this striker is not tired but the defense is. That tells me the striker didn't work hard since no goals were scored and she is salivating while the defenders are tired or she didn't play much and the defenders were in the entire game. Something doesn't add up. When someone is saying ODP striker - I expect goals or creating opportunities by holding the ball for team not down 1-0 zero with 5 minutes left what is punting the ball to her going to solve that she couldn't do earlier in the game. I would say try a different option since the ODP striker option hasn't worked.

Anonymous said...

9:22 - the played Solar already. Thought they lost. And, was surprised at the low attendance.

Anonymous said...

11:58
Was a great game
At least 18,000 in attendance.
126 college coaches, 52 of them from the west coast
Jill Ellis was seen, trying to hide, but she was seen in the stands
67 verbal commitments will be announced before the weekend

Anonymous said...

Haha Nobody played this past weekend games or scrimmages all stories! People are telling in hopes to stir the pot.

Anonymous said...

There were scrimmages 02 v 01 of the same club I hear
Da rosters are 95% complete before tryouts
Hope they tell outsiders this

Anonymous said...

The DA needs to finish their plan before any clubs can move forward. No need to pick rosters when everything is still in limbo. This is why everything is on hold and no clubs are providing information at this point.

Anonymous said...

Interesting, yeah our club had inter club scrimmages as well so did others, I've heard. So you think it was for DA looks?

Anonymous said...

1:29 - not sure about the limbo comment. They are advertising a lot at the She Believes' Cup and inviting GDA clubs to the training sessions to view. Several clubs have posted presentations too, including Spirit.

Anonymous said...

Wildcats had a tournament that Averbuch played in. I guess they played U19.

Anonymous said...

You are all so funny and critical. lol. I mentioned odp pool player, yes is on our team. and yes plays forward. And yes my daughter has punted to her before and had an assist. geeze

Anonymous said...

12:18 - 9:45 here. That was sort of my point.

Anonymous said...

1:54

Dont talk about other players on your daughter's team. Cant end well here

Anonymous said...

1:54 - is this EDP? I thought we were talking ECNL.

Anonymous said...

That's awesome. When my older daughter played EDP, she had 0 GA's as well as several assists and a goal (from mid-field). And won a showcase bracket at Jeff Cup. She's in ECNL now. It's a much different game.

Anonymous said...

Can i talk about the USWNT? Down 2-0 to France after losing to England here in the states, yeah we don't need to change anything. To much dribbling

Anonymous said...

Ha, they probably learned that in HS. Maybe we shouldn't be playing three back? Although they do that in HS. I think they should play by age year and practice 4 days a week, that should fix everything.

Anonymous said...

US ladies played terrible soccer tonight vs a team that schooled them
