U16 young women players are not playing for fun, they are playing to win.

Tough games this weekend against the Virginia DA teams, they are fast, aggressive and good...

Anonymous said...

agreed. they give you a good game, but in u16/u17 standings VA teams are 3rd, 4th and 7th
and in u18/u19 in standings VA teams are 3rd, 4th and 7th. why the cheerleading?

Anonymous said...

Because it annoys you, that is why I cheer-lead, want some more?

Anonymous said...

Not annoying at all. plenty of empty barrels out there. continue with your senseless babbling.

when do the national league and regional league (is there still one?) games begin? Any early favorites?

Anonymous said...

The USYS National and Regional leagues have both folded, RIP.

With GDA has there been any assistance in playing college soccer; anything more meaningful than scouts might attend games. Do GDA programs provide any assistance in finding a college that is a good fit for the players.

Anonymous said...

Yes 2:23, I am on a conference call right now with Duke, Stanford, and Harvard, how about you guys?

Anonymous said...

Tab Ramos connects with college coaches at CSA.

Anonymous said...

Kaz knows dozens of college coaches, but talent and effort is what gets attention, NOT who you know.

Well, except, maybe in your case....

Anonymous said...

GDA insists that college soccer is incompatible with US Soccer. They do not allow players to contact colleges and to attend ID camps

Soon all the ECNL families will be coming to their team practices, and although they will appear friendly, be forewarned, for the most part, these people want to see the GDA fail. It's not so much that they have to win everything, everyone else has to also lose, otherwise it's not a good day.

National League starts with their Fall Showcase in NC on 12/1. All NL teams nationwide attend. This is a Thursday to Sunday showcase that runs along with CASL Showcase that runs during that weekend. The National League season starts in the Spring regionally.

To ask who the favorites are is hard to determine.

PA and NJ are sending three teams each this year.
CA is sending four teams
MI is sending three teams

Anonymous said...

All these States are sending teams, are these State-best teams?? Also, do they know where they are sending them, do they have directions??

Anonymous said...

Also have these teams been impacted by GDA as in lost players in particular impact players? All of this is based on last year.

Most teams were impacted by GDA either losing kids directly or kids leaving hoping for spots that didn't happen so others in those old spots. This goes for ECNL too.

Anonymous said...

11:05pm what team told you this? It's false.

Anonymous said...

From GDA FAQ Page:
http://www.ussoccerda.com/faq

Ask your DOC if GDA kids are allowed to attend College ID camps during GDA season. (they can during offseason).

---
Can Academy players participate with non-Academy teams during the season?

Full-time Academy players are only permitted to participate on their Academy team, and National Team duty.

Which teams participate in 10-month programming and do not allow high school participation?

The entire Academy program does not participate in high school programming.

How does participating in the Academy affect players being seen by elite coaches?

Academy competitions provide ideal opportunities for coaches to scout players in their natural environment. Over half of all Academy matches are observed by a member of the National Team scouting network. During the 2015-16 Development Academy season, for example, over 1,849 games were scouted by our expansive network of technical staff and scouts.

1:17 Just one correction "The National League season starts in the Spring regionally." is False.

December Showcase are also the first 4 games of the season. The remaining 3 will be played in either FL or NV. The Division champions advance to the National Championships in July and the top 3 qualify for next year's national league. The Eastern Regional league starts in the Spring with the top 4 teams advancing to the national league next season and the champion qualifying for the Region1 Championships.

I agree with your comment in regards to who the favorites are. Since Clubs accepted to the ECNL and GDA will now be sending their B teams or will be missing impact players. This is where the USYS NL dropped the ball.

Anonymous said...

8:15 is there a history of learning disability in the family?

Anonymous said...

2:13 - i'm 1:48. agreed. I would ask your club DOC. But, as some in our club have found, if the id camp does not interfere; then you can. for instance if you have a sunday game and camp is saturday, attend. if you have a sat game and sunday is camp, attend. and, college coaches are still recruiting. GDA isn't the conduit. The club is still the point of contact.

5:25 - hilarious.

Anonymous said...

3:38 you may be right for some teams, but I believe there are some teams in National League that haven't lost players to GDA or ECNL and would be very competitive or likely beat must ECNL teams. Again I expect there to be less of these types of teams than in the past in NL

Anonymous said...

i think that is the argument too. the measurement of ECNL is an unknown as well.
if the team you reference can beat ECNL if ECNL is watered down, then what is the true measurement this year of all teams. ALL of it is an unknown.
Maybe it will flush out by the end of the season when roster adds and drops occur after try-outs. This year is going to be a wide open soccer season for sure.

Anonymous said...

Agree all three platforms are watered down now although the most "best" players are likely in GDA. ECNL and NL will have strong teams and players and some weaker teams. GDA has a couple of weak teams.

Anonymous said...

Some of the top non ECNL clubs that used to do national league joined GDA. At least 5 clubs that I can spot. They cant send their GDA team.

Anonymous said...

Like Empire Disjointed, is that a top USYS non ECNL club???

Anonymous said...

I agree these teams can't send their top teams or top players.

clever. they played each other (va and md) so a spirit team won in each age group.

So Scarpelli is not helping her CSA to win? Isn't she a national team player, doesn't that for like 3-4 players worth of talent?? Sorry for this tired old quote, but I just gotta, so what goes around, comes around....

Anonymous said...

Stop dropping names here. If she is on Nat Team or not - kudos to her if she gets same exposure but better Training. At this stage it should be about getting ready for the nat team competition and not making some dad happy with a win.

My #1 question would be whether PDA will make playoffs - it seems that on paper there are 3 teams that will end up above them in the division.

Anonymous said...

Better training, at CSA?? Hahahaha, please, bunch morons running that place, more-rons...

Anonymous said...

CSA is having tough time. NT player is out for next year with torn ACL. They have great facility with 4 lighted turf fields right off parkway. That is going to attract in future.

Anonymous said...

Really, ouch, sorry to hear that, like I said earlier....and lighted turf fields only attract moths at night.

Anonymous said...

Well If you are counting LS, future Penn State superstar as the Nt player, she has played in 7 games and scored 2 goals according to the DA site. However, I think she's a centerback at least she was on the NT so that may be good production.

Just posted final above for Bethesda. Great for Wildcats only team from NJ in the race with 14 flights. They had a real good 2017 that got them into this bracket.

Anonymous said...

Massapequa? You think they are better than Bethesda ECNL, are you from Massachusetts, getting going early on the recreational weed up there?

Anonymous said...

1:53...how in the world are Loudoun and Beach FC not in the top bracket at Bethesda? Wildcats and Century V both didn't make it out of their group at USYS R1 championships in July. Beach FC was the R1 finalist and Loudoun won the championship. Beach FC beat Massapequa and Loudoun beat LVU there. According to GS, it looks like Loudoun also beat Bethesda ECNL last year when they played. Doesn't seem to make a lot of sense.

Anonymous said...

Scratch that, Beach FC did not beat Massapequa in regionals. That was wrong, but Loudon beat Massapequa at Jeff Cup

Anonymous said...

Scratch that, never heard of Beach FC, or Loudon, or a Massapequa, and I don’t see them in the GDA national standings page, so I guess they are NOT relevant, anybody want to talk politics?

Anonymous said...

Lot of scratching going on...fleas?

Wildcats are gritty winners. They are the great players from area resisting PDA and DA. Add fuel to fire NJ Wildcats Averbuch top bracket at CASL. They had decent year playing top teams in 2017 spring.

Resisting? More like they lack the technical skill to make PDA DA teams, but CSA will take anyone with a heartbeat, well maybe not anyone, let me rephrase, they will take anyone with a heartbeat and an old soccer ball, heard they were running low on both.

FC Maximus is in 2nd bracket from NJ. otherwise in top two brackets only wildcats and maximus. Maximus are now stallions. Been around long time and just merged.

Anonymous said...

Maximus beat Wildcats last year

Anonymous said...

Wildcats beat Maximus in both state cups winning 1-0 in the quarters in NJYSA and 2-1 in the Finals in NJ Club Open Cup State Final. Must be talking about Maximus winning a league game.

Anonymous said...

CASL looks like a big tournament. i wonder if they grabbed some of the Disney groups that didn't want to screw up a national holiday? our Club is still going to Disney, should be fun, but i'd be lying if i said i wish we hadn't.

Anonymous said...

is there a real difference in teams between any of the elite brackets?

Anonymous said...

Disney will get plenty of good teams same as CASL always does. Some will enjoy a weekend at Disney almost a vacation. They both look fun.

Anonymous said...

Not affiliated with max or wildcats. At the end of spring they were very even (ranking), and the last game went to maximus. So, it all depends on how the coaches recruited. My assumption is that a some kids went to CSA GDA and to NYCFC GDA from each club.

https://youthsoccerrankings.us/team.html?teamId=1920131

Anonymous said...

Difference with wildcats and max is wildcats played at regionals and semi finals at nationals. likely pushing them into top bracket. Maximus is in great shape at 2nd bracket at Bethesda. believe me. Most players can only dream at U16 in being top two brackets. Their are 12 lower brackets.

Anonymous said...

Believe you? Maybe, but its really the B league now, or C league, depending on who you ask.

Anonymous said...

Guys it's U16 which is the magic year for college recruiting. If you are in top flights in the big college showcases then it doesn't matter what league you are in because you will be showcased at CASL, Jeff Cup,ets in front of ALL the college coaches and programs in Region 1.
Was there last year at CASL and at main site it was wall to wall college coaches for top flight games in U16 age bracket.
Those who are still focused on results this year moving forward at U16 are foolish.
The results mattered BEFORE U16 to get the resume up to snuff to have their team accepted and flighted in the upper flights this year.
If your team is not there this year then it's probably too late for a major college offer. Much tougher to get ANY athletic scholarship offers next year at U17/Junior in hs as top 5 power conference schools are already finished with their classes at the end of that classes sophomore year in high school. If your daughter is looking at lower D1 or D2 or D3 then it's not as important as those schools wait for what's left after major D1 programs and Ivy League schools take their pick.

Anonymous said...

1:24 hit nail on head. Wildcats have been great since U13 and earned this spot. And had one of their best years in last year or so. Also with Maximus. Maximus is very good and has been good since about U13 as well. And now Stallions Maximus. Of course you would have DA and ECNL events as well. But no doubt being in the top flights at Jeff Cup, CASL, Disney, Bethesda and PDA look real, real good on resume. And of course top coaches will look mainly at the top brackets based on invites from players in those brackets.

Anonymous said...

Yes and many of the ECNL Teams are in those same flights so that will only raise exposure of NPL teams in top flights who play them in these showcases as every college coach who comes to see ECNL players will see the players on the opposing teams play as well.

Anonymous said...

Agree about results no longer imperative(state cups, regionals, nationals, NPL finals appearances), that hay needs to be already in the barn at U16.
It's all about exposure now

Anonymous said...

1:24 I disagree - and I have some questions?

1. How does a team get into the top flight at these events?
2. CFC Delco or FC Bucks will be in the top flights at these events, if not why not?
3. So your kid is playing U16 again? Isn't the 2019/2020 age group the most important (Juniors and Sophomores?
4. Results are foolish? For GDA, ECNL, NL, Regional Leagues and NPLs results are very important.
5. Arent' these the teams in the top flights (the teams that win)?
6. Results mattered before Birth year Change but in year 2 they don't?
7. So only playing in top flights gets you a major college offer?
8. if college is the goal why do you value "power 5" more (that's how your post reads)

2:37 You agree? I disagree - College coaches care about the flights the kids they identified play in.

2:41 Why are many ECNL/NPL teams in those top flights? I argue that this is what's wrong with soccer in the USA. If what you say is true teams are in the top flights even if they are bad teams. So why isn't CFC Delco, FC Bucks, Brentwood, Quickstrike, TSF or Copa in the top flights? They are ECNL/NPL? Must be the coach connections?

2:46 How do you get this exposure? What criteria is used by these events to compare teams from all over the country if results mean nothing? Oh I forgot U13 results are used

Anonymous said...

Well I will try and answer some of your questions. First off I said results "moving forward'for NPL Teams are not very important because the resume in place are what determines the flighting for this current year and U16 is the most important year by far. for D1 recruiting. There fore my comment that the hay has to already be in the barn as far as results and resume by U16.
Also you can disagree but it's a fact that for these schools in D1 (other than lower level d1 schools) the sophomore year is when the classes are filled in and the $$$ are promised out to the recruits.
Classes are mainly completed by end of a graduating classes sophomore year for these D1 Programs. As far as criteria for flighting look at Raleigh they have a designation next to each team that is a state champ, regional champion, national finalist, etc because it raises the profile of their tournament so that answers your question about the main criteria for flighting for the NPL Teams. And yes the ECNL Teams also get a boost from being in that league.
And of course coaches care avbout the flights you are in as college coaches care very much about seeing a potential recruit play vs the top competition as the lower the flight the less they can base what they see from a player as representative of what they could do vs the top level. for high level D1 schools they need to see you play vs other D1 recruits of it's not a realistic look for them.

Anonymous said...

How many of Maximus' players left. I spot a few on DA rosters

Anonymous said...

3 left in the spring. They were very shorthanded by the end of last year.

Anonymous said...

Any designations that teams had will be re-evaluated this year. The teams got changed 2 years ago due to age group change, and then again last year due to DA. I'm sure coach's reputation and assessment means just as much as the results from previous year in these circumstances.

Coaches will come out disappointed. Even in the top 3 brackets at CASL quality of selection is suspect - there are many that belong, and many that do not...

What are these teams ?? in the top 3 brackets:
Lonestar SC U16 DA Pilot - no results most likely a B team to a GDA team
Penn Fusion SA Npl 2002 (craigie) - results against bad teams - also a B team to a very good GDA team
FC Bucks - team that has a 1-19 ECNL record and allowed 100+ goals last season

Anonymous said...

We loved playing against FC Bucks, it made us look like Barcelona, ah good times!

Anonymous said...

National league showcase this month same dates as CASL and in spring ERL same dates as Jefferson. Where will college coaches go?

Anonymous said...

To their nearest GDA game!

Anonymous said...

College coaches will be at first day of National League on Thu and Fri. Then likely at CASL rest of weekend or at least that is what they usually do. You GDA parents need to get over yourselves. Coaches find talented players and there are players at NL and CASL.

Anonymous said...

We need a system like that in place to build world class players and need to stop being politically correct. The GDA is to find NT level players - if a player doesn't make the NT then they failed at that level.

You don't play GDA to get into college - you play GDA to play for the NT.

Anonymous said...

Maybe someone should of told the Syracuse coach that, before he drove to our game, or did he get lost on the way to grandmas house?

Some stats
D1 D2 D3 NAIA Total
2018 = 1015 105 39 17 1176
2019 = 577 15 3 2 597
2020 = 188 1 0 0 189
2021 = 24 0 0 0 24

18/19 were u17 last season - 1773
19/20 were u16 last season - 786
21/22 were u15 last season - 213

Stats don't support u16 being the age group to see sorry.

Anonymous said...

above are stats of what? Just go to the games on Saturday at around noon and see which age groups top flight games has the most coaches watching.

Anonymous said...

I think he is listing how many in each class are committed at time of casl but of course older classes have more commits. If you show 2019/2019 last year that includes almost all juniors and seniors. Naturally more players in junior and senior classes are committed in December than sophomores at that point. My point is U16 is getting the most looks and exposure because many juniors have already committed.

Anonymous said...

All he has to do is look on any recruiting sites stats and he will see most of top 150 juniors are already committed at this point. They are much more focused on sophomore class, (which is mainly 2002-U16) from now thru PDA Tournament.

Anonymous said...

9:15, so true dude, but you meant the GDA Playoffs in June, not the lousy PDA Tourney, so shut-up with that already!

Except the "top 150" juniors aren't really the top 150.

Plenty of juniors still to sign with top collegiate teams.

Was at the National League Showcase last year in NC. It was a who's who of D1 school evaluating. Thursday and Friday were busy, Saturday was less coaches and Sunday was a ghost town. Very exciting for the players to see that. They are looking forward to it again at the end of the month.

Anonymous said...

^^^ is there a list of coaches attending?

Anonymous said...

at CASL?

Anonymous said...

So, given there are 300 div 1 schools its really not that surprising that nl tourneys would be loaded with div 1 coaches. What would be interesting to know is how many are power 5 or top 50 programs. At ecnl last year there were prob 20-25 top 50 coaches over the period.

Anonymous said...

what is bizarre is that it's the same time as the college cup, still. worked when college cup was in NC, but now in FL. And college cup is immediately before DA Showcase starts. So, will coaches be in NC at CASL or NL; or in Florida for College Cup and GDA? Or will they take in a day in NC and a day or two in FL to attend both showcase events?

This is what will be interesting. How was WAGS this year? A lot of coaches or not? Used to get a bunch. All of this is new even for the coaches. Thanks US Soccer.

Anonymous said...

They will be at both.

Head Coach to FL
Assistant Coach to FL
Intern Coach to NC

Anonymous said...

7:02 is pretty close actually. Many coaches go based on invites. If they are invited by a few players on one team, or teams playing against they send someone. Most DI schools have a few coaches on staff. Be sure to invite coaches.

Anonymous said...

10:23, thanks for the link, and I agree GS is a flawed measure of success, but that link belongs on the u12 thread.

Anonymous said...

7:02 nice snarky GDA parent comment. No doubt the most top players are likely playing in GDA. But everyone said the same thing about ECNL last year and look at some of the team's ripping it up in the GDA this year...Nationals from Michigan a USYS team has won nearly every game. Cincinnati also from USYS is doing excellent in GDA. Bottom line is that there are excellent players and teams sprinkled across GDA, ECNL, and USYS/NL. Coaches will be at NL games and showcase tournaments for non GDA teams and not just sending "Coaching interns"

Anonymous said...

Of the NL teams updated U17 has 7% of it's players committed vs 3% for U16. The math doesn't support U16 as being the place to be (next year this age group for sure). Schools will pick from their list who they want to cover. If ECNL/GD/NL only has 2 players interested in their school and CASL has 15 then guess what they will be at CASL. Come on man, they don't just unless they have an interest and it's a two way street.

Anonymous said...

12:36 so now it’s best ECNL and best NL teams from last year that are in GDA? What are you trying to say?

Anonymous said...

12:49 PM

Interesting Map considering the ever changing landscape. College teams with bigger budgets can do more, and if that means sending a scout to a lower tournament because there may be a top player they will find a way to get there. I agree that most college women's soccer coaches are not staying at 5 star hotels or eating steak every night (unless they are looking for the NCAA police to come calling), so they want to maximize their recruiting budget by catching as many players as possible that fit their 4 year plan. If this means making a decision over a busy weekend they will most likely choose wherever the players who are on the radar and have shown interest are. I also know that for the next few weeks at least the top programs are busy with the NCAA tournaments so the coaches focus is most likely on his current team. Bethesda will probably be missing quite a few scouts as this week kicks off playoffs.

Anonymous said...

11:27 - can't just post on U12. i can't tell you the amount of teams including older that still beat their chest or advertise about their Got Soccer Rankings. We learned years ago that it's a meaningless ranking when older daughter played. But it allows teams to crank up the schedules and go to a bunch of tourneys (some good and some not so good) just to get points that have very little value in the real soccer recruiting world.

Anonymous said...

12:36 - but you answered your own question, those teams aren't in NL anymore. they moved to GDA.
i'm not trying to be snarky at all and not other poster, but it has to be very confusing even for the coaches where to go as the talent is all over the place.

Anonymous said...

1:16 I am not sure what is confusing about my post.

4:01 Agree with you that those teams moved to GDA and are not in NL anymore. Was trying to make the point that ECNL parents would come on this board last year and say that all the top players and teams were in the ECNL. As former NL talent moved into GDA and compete with former ECNL players this year they are doing quite well in many cases. I was making the same point as you that there is talent across all three leagues. Agree that it must be difficult for coaches.

Anonymous said...

6:49 are the former NL teams you are referencing that are now GDA the former NL teams entirely? Or are they combined with former ECNL kids too?

Anonymous said...

3:58 They are right those results mean a lot if you read back a few posts. From u12 to U15 they set the team up for top flights. So all those points and wins do matter.

Anonymous said...
1:24 hit nail on head. Wildcats have been great since U13 and earned this spot.

people will always change their opinion depending on which side of the fence they are on.

Anonymous said...

10.37 they are not an ECNL club. Yes there are strong clubs that are not ECNL.

The 2017 Fall MRL season suports the u17 team not being as strong as the GDA team probably has more 01s than 02s since the 02 teamis still tops

Anonymous said...

Wow the jealous Wildcats Hater continues to step on her dick. Oops I meant his dick.No her dick. Aw whatever.

Anonymous said...

Also the 2001 Averbuch girls who moved up after birth year s;lit all committed, 1 to Lehigh.

Anonymous said...

Wow Illinois and Lafayette

Anonymous said...

Oops Lehigh

Anonymous said...

Very good schools. Excellent academics at both.Good luck to those girls.

Anonymous said...

Wildcats has many DI commits yearly. But so does PDA, Match Fit, Copa. Wildcats is great club for certain ages and girls. It is on smaller side and certainly worth look.

Anonymous said...

No thanks.

Anonymous said...

Doubt it is a full ride. Very very few get full rides in girls soccer

Anonymous said...

My daughter is getting a full-ride for fencing, soccer is just something she does for fun!

Anonymous said...

Agree but she is o
Ne2 of the few who did.

Any update on kittens at Bethesda?

There are many ways to skin a cat, just ask WCFC, 4-1...

WC ecnl will be one of the top ecnl teams this year. Ecnl is a mixed bag with DA taking a lot of the star players away. I thought maximus was playing bethesda. Most ecnl teams are now b-teams so the ones that stayed intact will be much better this year. There are some stinker ecnl teams now. Especially in the 01 range with clubs that have affiliate DAs. Even match fit will be decent. I predict pda will be middle of pack ecnl this year.

Anonymous said...

816. First if you know the ECNL and DA landscape, you will know majority of top players did not go to the DA. yes a few did, but coaches are saying the DA games is a very low level, painful to watch. One club PDA does have majority of ECNL playing DA. But rest of country is not the case. ECNL at u15 and above has the better players playing.

Anonymous said...

Dude Bethesda is a weak tournament. See what happens in Sanford before you open your trap!

Anonymous said...

1019. I am not talking about bethesda. Not even there. Just pointing facts about DA and ECNL teams.

Anonymous said...

10:08 - you have no clue. MOST did go GDA; some did not; in particular in most other parts of the country. stop trying to justify your decision to not go GDA by dissing those that did.

Anonymous said...

10:42. You obviously have no clue. Go search ECNL rosters and compare to last year, oh man wait .. Hmm so many teams stayed... Obviously not looking at teams no longer in ECNL.

Anonymous said...

And the WC poster thinking a 4-1 win over the weak Kitty Cats your going to get stomped on. Enjoy Bethesda see you in Sanford.

Anonymous said...

PDA moved their best 01/02 players to DA, Penn Fusion and Breakers left ECNL completely, so what does that tell you? As far as the rest of the country, don't really know, and don't really care. Seems to me that the ECNL parents are a little nervous, and I can't blame them, so are we. Don't we all want our daughters to be seen and recruited? WC 02 ECNL is a good team, not sure if they are a great team, but only time will tell, but it was a great start, no more, no less. Pretty sure that poster was not with them, they realize that bragging on this forum is insecure, and moronic, besides it's not easy being a B team at their own complex.

Anonymous said...

Yes pda ecnl team is mainly old dragons which was their c team below storm and ajax.

Anonymous said...

WC without NT player this weekend right? Missing other players in their HS state games. Ouch Cats, what happened?

Anonymous said...

word on the back of the net forums was that some wc, stars and east meadow teams/players tried to stick it out for 1 more year of ecnl. we'll see from the results.

for comparison, right now the u14 team for ecnl pda team has 5/10 wins - and non-gda teams (match fit and east meadow) are ahead on points. most of the old - pure ecnl teams (cfc/marylan/bucks etc.) still way behind.

Anonymous said...

Its very naive to think the best players stayed in ecnl. Yes certain teams llike socal blues stayed intact like world class and match fit as well. But also please remember that da is 01/02 and they will keep the best players they can which in general seems to be about a 75-25ish split. Plus DA is like a merger between top ecnl and top national league teams. Look at the midwest you have 3 top national league teams 4 ecnl teams and a newly formed teams. The east seems to have a lot of newly formed teams.

Ecnl is going to be very mixed as well. Many of the very athletic or very skilled have moved to DA. Assume on many teams top 2-6 players have moved on to DA. Then you have the ones that stayed together the ones that lost a few and the ones that lost most. Like in philly you pf was tge only good team. Now they are gone so its just continental and bucks. What does that say for competition.

This year 03 will be a joke in ecnl (da has 20+ 03 per team) as will 01. Next year if you are not DA you will see a major drop across the board. This is the last year ecnl will be solid in my opinion.

10:30, thanks for the update WC Dad, just wait until you guys play London, I heard they are from England!

WC dad how did you do vs Lehigh Valley this morning

WC dad how did you do vs Lehigh Valley this morning

Anonymous said...

It was a tie 0-0

Anonymous said...

A tie against a NPL team that’s as weak as Copa! ROFL!

Anonymous said...

I watched 20 mins of the LVU vs WC game today. Not a parent from either team. Very even game with a slight advantage to Lehigh

Anonymous said...

Oh and Kitty Cats are doing awesome!

Anonymous said...

Wildcats lost 2 1 to Cleveland FC in top flight game on late pk. Very competitive match. Tough call.

Anonymous said...

A slight advantage to Lehigh. Now that's funny

Anonymous said...

10:34 am - wait what? are you moonlighting on another forum? thought we were your enlightened group?

Anonymous said...

The players at these tournaments play equally or supposed to. It's a showcase, get players seen. However some teams do play to win and sacrifice the players time to be seen to win at all cost. I am glad our coach told our players that all will play regardless of score, all playing equal time. Good coaches in attendance

Anonymous said...

9:42 why is that funny?

Anonymous said...

Good coaches in attendance, where? From the list Bethesda provided, it's The Who's Who from Whoville.

Anonymous said...

We had 13 at first game 11 at second game.american manhattan lehigh new hamphshire drew umbc njit gettysburg dickinson salisbury state albany stockton barton. Longwood. Desales mostly small D1 schools

Anonymous said...

7:46, I would feel a little better if you lied, not a lot, just a little, just enough to justify the gas money.

Anonymous said...

Oh my god Salisbury Steak University is there!!!! Damn it!!!!

Anonymous said...

Sure, you laugh now, but I heard SSU has a great meal-plan, and that is half the battle, and tuition.

Anonymous said...

Some different D1 coaches at our game today george mason towsend st marys and campbell

Anonymous said...

Not every player can play in big ten or acc. Its all about the right fit.

Anonymous said...

I take it US Soccer was not in attendance?

Anonymous said...

World Class goes 1-0-2 against non ECNL teams, with 1 goal in last two games, ouch...

Anonymous said...

Good job PDA DA team, a tie against PF is as good as a win these days, enjoy the moment.

Anonymous said...

I thought PF won? I must have misread.

Anonymous said...

LVU and Bethesda ecnl take top bracket. Congrats. Well deserved. McLean ECNL nice showing taking their bracket. STA and Cherry Hill not bad. Wildcats at least played great teams. But coming home 0-3 with no points. Psa finished off well. These teams are all so different from spring. At least a couple of top players per team went DA.

Anonymous said...

Albertson ECNL showed well in their bracket. They also lost players to DA

Anonymous said...

4:16 - PF vs PDA scores; U16/17 - tied. And US Soccer was at those games we heard. Good job NY & NJ teams at Bethesda

U14 DA: W 3-1
U15 DA: L 0-2
U16/17 DA: D 1-1
U18/19 DA: W 3-1

Anonymous said...

For those teams at Bethesda did the coaches get the memo about this being a showcase or were they coached to win with a short bench in close games instead of all players playing a minimum of half the game. If we are comparing apples to apples then great showing for all 5:54.

Anonymous said...

Our coach played everyone each game.

Anonymous said...

Nice 10:03 everyone played 50% of the game.

Anonymous said...

The post didn't say kids played at least 50%. It said everyone played. hopefully everyone did get ample playing time in order to be able to showcase. that's the purpose of those tourneys. scores don't matter. not all coaches or parents buy into that though.

Anonymous said...

Why would he/she post they played if it wasn't 50%? I don't think there are coaches out there that still do that, why would they? The results mean nothing and have nothing to do with future placements that's like common knowledge.

With State Cups, ECNL, NL, NPL and ERL for Region 1 teams there is enough to place teams. Every premier team falls into one of these categories am I wrong?

Anonymous said...

Some of you parents need to think of a few things:
1. this is not u12 anymore
2. reality check-very few girls will make top D1 teams
3. not all girls want or can do D1-your daughter is not the best, be real
4. get a life, stop living vicariously through your daughter

Anonymous said...

12:10 it didn't say played 50%; it said everyone played. getting in for 20 mins in second half isn't 50%. Playing 1 full game and not seeing field time the rest of the tourney isn't 50%. some teams do honor 50% playing time for all. some don't and value the points instead. these type of tourneys should have a percentage play rule.

Anonymous said...

Are you speaking from experience 1:11?? Are you frustrated about the drive, hotel fee, and crappy dinners with parents you truly dislike? Yeah, me too, but in 2 years you will look back at these days, and be saddened, not because of the events mentioned, but because the process is over.

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe.
Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion.
I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate.
All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain.
Time to die.

Anonymous said...

12:33

1. Correct not U12 anymore - showcase events are SHOWcase events for ALL.
2. Correct so why don't we let the D1 coaches be the judge of who is or who isn't, why are you so worried?
3. Correct, study and bus rides plus training and passing exams are not for everyone
4. What exactly are you doing posting on a youthsoccer message board? Aren't you living your life through your daughter, she's playing and you are posting.

Just 2 ways to see things - go ahead you can say your way is the right way, I opened the door

Cedar Stars players are running for the exits.Players are calling other clubs to secure place on teams for spring. Another very shady coach who got fired from PDA years ago for history of inappropriate behavior with his minor players, including a suspension from coaching for drinking with players in hotel room at away tournament just hired by CSE. Guess that fits the profile of what they have on that staff on girls side.

Anonymous said...

Hahaha, guess things are a little shaky at CSA?

Anonymous said...

He should of gone to World Class, some of the older ECNL girls have already started their drinking games at tournaments.
Yes, this story is true, sad, but true....

Anonymous said...

Where do they think they are Epcot?

Anonymous said...

Good one!

Anonymous said...

I don't get the Epcot reference, but you responding to your own post doesn't help, either.

Anonymous said...

Google alex morgan epcot

Anonymous said...

you're welcome 8:23
8:32 - i'm the epcot reference poster and don't have to give myself a digital backpat. i have other interests. may want to read something other than youth soccer blogs.

Anonymous said...

Hahaha, oh, that was only a story because it was a female player, if it was a male it would not of made the news.

Anonymous said...

let's not poke that bear this early in the morning (male vs female athletes and accountability). look at how long it has taken for Elliott to be suspended.

I was relating my comments to the posters who trash tournaments if those perfect D1 schools aren't there.
Too many parents misjudge their daughters' potential.
I read and post on here bc sometimes there are mature conversations...although very little anymore.
