True, it's a great gig for them, instead of traveling to tournaments over and over, they can go to a select few prestigious tournaments, but spend most of the summer making money while they recruit at ID camps. Formula for money= put ID after your camps name, hire a couple of college ast coachesfor the week and rake it in.
7/25@1:42major DI college coaches will pay far more attention to the USDA games, regionals, and nationals, and less to where EDP teams play. No disrespect to these teams, that's just the way it is. That's why so many parents have drank the Kool Aid and are sold on the academy system.I do agree with you in that you'd stand a better chance at the major tournaments ( Disney Showcase, Dallas Cup, Surf Cup etc, as opposed to local MSSL college showcases).
7:26 sorry but I have been through this. ID camps are the singular best way. Period
That's your opinion, that's not fact. There are many ways to get recruited by a college coach.
Of course there are many ways but only one best way
The best way is the one that ends up working specifically for your kid. Different strokes for different folks.
What teams are going to the Disney college tournament in Dec besides SDFC? Seams like a great venue with great teams.
IDK? How about the yesterday's news State Champs Marlboro?
11:28 you answered your own question from 11:25. Very obvious since no one has posted a thing on here in quite some time. You can deny it all you want but it is obvious to all that SDFC has at least one problem parent/player. I would think that SSC/Marlboro/SDFC could all get into almost any tournament that they want to at this time. If SDFC is going then they chose to, nothing more nothing less.
That's just really funny that someone would answer their own post if true. Why is there so much bad blood between SDFC and Marlboro? I don't see the point.
I dont believe there is. It seems that one person has an agenda and non one else cares. When do they ever play each other? Not often. Is there a connecting piece between the two?
I think is because Marlboro beat SDFC in the final (controlled most of the game) of this years state cup and finaly proved that they were worthy of the title.
Really who cares about a Marlboro / SDFC feud anyway? Are they even going to rank in the top five next season? It seams both teams are losing key players and will have to get new blood to stay up at the top.
7:28. Agree who cares about the fake feud but you keep telling lies. SDFC is just fine and I am sure Marlboro is also. Shut up already
Other teams are building also. Galacticos are one of them. State cup finalist and just got stronger.
Let son move to a better team, less game time or stay on present time and play almost entire game ?One team top ten, other top twenty.
10:10 do what's best for your son. Ask him toakebas the choice and support him in his decision.
10:10 - The better the competition the better your kid gets. That includes practices (which is where he spends more time).
Depends on what he wants out of it. To be honest, top 20 really means little as even some top 10 teams at this point really are not that good. If he is looking to get into college and be noticed he would want to take into consideration the visibility that will be made available (or not). Playing with better players will 100% make him better. On the flip side, if he does not want to play in college then play on a lower level team and be the man, have fun. Question for you. Why do you feel that he will play less on a better team? Maybe he will surprise you.
I would move son to 2nd team. Kids love to play in games. Games are exciting and you really get to test your skills Besides, not playing in games may damages confidence and self-esteem in a child.
That is the question, do you REALLY get to test your skills or do you lose the opportunity to really test yourself? Look at it this way, if he is on a team of 18 and the coach really only plays 16, make sure he is talent wise at least 14. Anything below that and you might be making too big of a leap.
So the team he plays for is very good but tends not to do many tournaments but plays is a high end league.(thus not many Got Soccer points) The second team is top 5. He good enough to start but comes in as the new guy. The coach made it clear that he would get play time and if he was not happy with the amount, he would play him in another postion also. He is confused. He does hope to play in college.
Not sure of the confusion. If the coach said he would play, and it is a step up then what is the question.
Your son cannot get better practicing with kids who aren't stronger than he is and will definitely not get better if he doesn't play in games. No game time means he plays against same kids over and over leaving little room to develop. Any coach that says otherwise is lying or just looking to collect a check.
Thanks for comments.
My son is a captain and starter on one of the best teams currently in NJ. He was a walk on player and worked his way to the top. Hard work and determination on the players part is very important. It took a couple of years but he was determined to be the caption and play at the highest level.Best of luck to your son.
What is a walk on player?
A player that contacted the club and asked to practice with the team to see if he would fit. No tryouts or offers from the coaching staff to join the team. Hence a walk on player.
Wow, he must really be good. To be able to just go to a practice and show that he belongs. Must be great.
Thanks he's just a hard working boy and worked his way up!
My son was also one of those kids, he didn't make the A team at first but worked hard kept going and is know a captain on one of the best teams in new jersey, he wants to play in college and does not know if to stay on his team or move to an academy to help his chances of being scouted. Any opinions?
Lots of captains out there.
I don't see the point in the academy's unless you have aspirations to try an go pro. No matter what you have been told it is not the best route but only one of many. My kids have played at both levels and my no academy son has received better offers from colleges.
Go pro.....HaDont forget your competition is the rest of the world.
Never say never! There's an MLS player from my town.
MLS, ok. IF you can live on 35k, go for it.
"College ID Camps have replaced tournaments." You are obviously clueless. Most coaches give a speech day one and head out on recruiting trips. Better option for a program this past weekend: A. Head to nationals and see several high level recruits on every field? B. Stay at "my camp" and watch kids who could shell out the coin play? College camps give you a preview of a campus... That is all.
I see you never had a child play in college. No problem, you can be ssen in different ways, and each option has it's flaws.
Question to a prior post. With SDFC and SSC in the area, why did you bring your son to the Galacticos? Not saying anything is wrong with them, just want to know what your thought process was.
12:29 - wow - and you are calling someone clueless? Pick the more attractive option: 1) stay home for 3 days and watch 300 players come to my place and perform for 3 days in ALL facets of the sport - not just play in a game - and find out if they can speak and write as well - oh - and make multiple thousands of dollars at the same time because they PAY for the campOR2) Pay travel and living expenses to go to some god forsaken place and watch games for 2 days (and by the way it is hard to watch multiple games at the same time) hoping I might all the players I need right there.Hmmmm - that is a tough choice.Sarcasm filter off - Anyway - 7:47 poster is correct- there are lots of ways and lots of things to be considered. Just going to national tournaments is somewhat narrow perspective.....or naïve.
Did I just hear right? Marlboro just list their very talented center back and awesome goalie? WTH? Where are they going?
They are going to Marlton
Continuous lies on here. Nothing but lies. Not sure why people find it necessary to post things about SSC, Marlboro, and SDFC that are completely false. Someone has an agenda.
Why would they go to Marlton? Has Marlton lost a couple of players or just adding depth to their already strong bench. What is the other team going to do for a goalie? That's a pretty big loss at this age.
I have a question. Why is it that this age group has the nastiest postings compared to all the others? It's not even close. Seems like there are a bunch of very good teams at this age so why all the snarky, angry posts?
There is one idiot who just throws false information out there just to see what happens. Think about it, nothing against Marlton, but why would a Marlboro player make that move?locationplay timebetter teamcheaperHow would any of those be marked a yes? It is just a stupid remark made by an even dumber person.
Better team in state cups, edp not so much. Marlboro vs Marlton is always one of the best games in this age group if not the best matchup!
Yes, they are. Both teams playing similar style of soccer.
please...no one was talking about marlboro or marlton last year or year before. very good teams now but not necessarily over the last 3 + years
Actually they were both top ten..... Even then. Not sure what 3 years Ago means. 3 years ago NJX was a team. 3 years ago Hudson was good. 3 years ago Ironbound was good. 3 years ago was a lifetime ago....... And yes Marlton, Marlboro, SSC, SDFC, are still thriving. That says it all
While Marlboro and Marlton is a great matchup, in my opinion it falls far short of SDFC v SSC especially over the last three years.
Those 4 Teams are far the best in the state and I would say all are top ten in the tristate are and maybe in the region
I wouldnt keep Holmdel out of this picture, have done a great job of getting back to the top.
Are you talking about region 1? Those teams are NOT the top teams in the region. Be a little realistic while self gloating.
2:31, do you have a child that plays? If you dont consider those teams part of the top teams in Region 1 then why not? I dont believe that anyone said they were the best, did they? If your son is not on one of these teams chances are you would never have played the top teams so where do you get your opinion from? SDFC plays nationally.
3:00 I do have a kid playing soccer at this age level. SDFC would be your best bet at performing well against Region 1 competition. Marlboro has done well winning tournaments the past season. The other two teams are not ranked in the top 10 Regionally. There may be others besides you with some knowledge on what is going on at this age group. Why would you assume my sons team does not play top level teams?
Since rankings are tied to how many tournaments you enter, I don't understand why so many people get carried away with rankings. A top ten team can be competitive with a top 30 team that doesn't enter a lot of tournaments and doesn't collect points.
No top 30 team would compete with a too 5 team. If your son played on a top team you would know how good SSC is and better yet will be
good for you. go for it!
SSC will be #1 in the world someday. Those other teams aren't even ranked!
Yeah right!!! DOOMSDAY.
Rankings are flawed, yes, but they do mean something. You cant gain points without wins and you cant get in the top flights without points. So those of you without points, keep saying how they mean nothing and keep playing in the 3rd and 4th flights of tournaments.
There are plenty of out of state tournaments that aren't as competitive as in state ones but you get thousands of pts. for winning. It's such a game. If parents are willing to pay thousands of dollars for this , their son's team will move up in rankings. You don't even need to win. You get pts. for coming in 4th in a group of about 10 teams. Then your highly ranked NJ team goes to Dallas or Disney and gets destroyed by Mexican teams that aren,t ranked.
Please show us a history of out of state tournaments that arent competitive but get thousands of points for winning.
Look for yourself at Got soccer tournaments. There are many.
If you have little points then you can earn points at a lesser tournament but the top teams can not.
12:57 Really interested to find out about the tournaments you are talking about. Personally don't know of any and the Got soccer Tournaments are not like what you are implying. It is time now for the individual talent of the boys to come through and being on a good team playing high level games/tournaments is beneficial.
12:57 and 12:03 (same person), show your brilliance and give us an example. It will work if you are not highly ranked but once you get highly ranked you have to play teams as good or better to earn points. I have seen very good teams play in mid level tournaments, win the championship and get ZERO points. That is factual unlike your statement.
For those bashing SSC they have been the most consistent team since u-11 In these age group and now they are national champions.. I see lots of sdfc parents patting themselves in the back but no titles to show for..Marlboro deserves credit they won both state cups and did well at regionals but came home with zero wins at nationals.SSC is the best team in this age group..
Yet SSC cant beat Marlboro. Just saying.
Marlboro beat SSC once in 5 years. SSC has good track record vs Marlboro I believe they knock them out of state cup two years in row in the last three years.
I do believe that SSC is the better of the two but SSC you cant have it both ways. You cant continually come on here telling people that the past doesn't matter and that you are the team of the future AND not go by this years results. Again, I believe you are better then Marlboro but my facts have it that they beat you and tied you and you have not beaten them in recent events. Why recent? Because teams change every year and they have to be taken that way. Hell, from what you said on this blog your team changed during this year right? You brought 5 guest players to Nationals right? Again, your words.
well said 4:32, well said.
Correction SSC posted 1 returned from Rec bull, and 1 rejoined team from world class.. Not 5 guest players
Marlboro was scared of SSC at nationals they defended with 10 in the box and only played the counter attack with 1 attacker
No SSC. You said Red bull, WC and you brought others from your other SSC teams. Those are guests you said you had. You SSC posters should get your stories straight.
SSC has the best results this year. National champions
I know this is late but reading these comments are hilarious, where did the rumor of the two Marlboro players leaving for Marlton come from...HAHAHA Hilarious rumor
Reality is they are going to NJSA team
Time now for SSC to get asphyxiated by the actual National Champions. If you don't know who they are, do some research and spend some $ and go play them.
SSC club players are not guest players. SSC always moves players around from their 3 teams
Ok SSC. U can swing it any way u want. U won a tournament U r good. Keep tooting ur own horn. SDFC will still win and u know it. If u were secure u wouldn't have to brag.
stronghold guested kids, those kids are retuning back to academy. I'm not saying the tournament is easy but its very easy to get in to comparing it to npl finals.
btw njsa is a very bad academy team. only reason why they are still in the academy league is because of money and tab ramos
The SSC kids are returning to Red Bulls? Since when! So much false information on here.
Enough about the top teams, SDFC, Marlboro, SSC will all be competitive again. Lets talk about the next tier and did they do anything to make a move on those three. SJEB, Marlton, Holmdel, STA, or anyone else make additions that will help? These teams are right there and one player may tip the scale.
I know this May be a stupid question but recently watching the mls all star game they should do that for youth players, I know odp is basically the but somethig cheaper and for only a game or two vs other states teams. If that were to happen which it probably won't were would the players come from Marlboro, SSC, sdfc and Marlton ???
Sorry, do what?
Make an all-star team
Who would be on the selection committee? Not a bad idea.
Yeah no favoritism at all.
odp is a waste of time
So why do SSC players tryout.
If there was an Allstar team for New Jersey the players would come from SSC , sdfc Marlboro and maybe 1 or 2 from Marlton. Who would be on te selection commite is a good question?
The best "teams" was not the question. The best players.
1:37 seems to understand that best players is what matters right now, not only your kid being on a good team. Reality will hit soon. College recruiting will get serious next season.
For the most part, almost all of the players on SSC, Marlboro, SDFC, Marlton, SJEB will all be able to play in college.
The reason these are the same teams spoken about time after time after time is what? Training? Recruiting? Ability?
All of the above.
Consistency with winning in general and I would say player/coach development too. The good coaches know how to build a team rather than the socially inept ones who find themselves constantly rebuilding.
what are you saying 2:06? Your coach needs to be social with the parents?
Not talking about the parents. A good coach will motivate and grow the passion for game. A bad one will often make the player seek that trait elsewhere regardless of what the parents think. I think SSC Marlboro and Marlton do a great job in this respect and it translates onto the field.
Dont you think that many other coaches "grow" their players passion for the game also? Maybe it doesn't show because they dont train properly.
Or, maybe they don't have the talent. Can still love the game.
What is FC Berna?
Strongholds quest of pretending to be an academy.
12:36 Good sense of humor. Really FC Berna!!!!
OK I have been reading this forum for awhile. Here is a reality check. Bethesda Academy..all 18 players on the U18 committed to a D1 school. Most of them top tier schools. How many of your players will play for Big 10 ACC Schools?http://www.bethesdasoccer.org/Default.aspx?tabid=280004
1% probably. All this banter is actually pointless. Boy's should be focusing on education. That is the only thing which will matter for the vast majority of these kids.
FC Bernal is another established club that SSX merged with. Not an attempt to act like a academy
If so good in development why merge
They merged because they now have a feeder program and doubled their age groups....momoney
True That program is great
Great program? Where? Who? please advise
Stop the SSC hate please. My son plays and it is a good program. Yes, they added players. Yes it will be difficult for some to get play time now, but isnt that what you want? Competition will bring out the best in all. We hold no ill feelings toward SDFC or Marlboro unlike the earlier posts would suggest. Both are excellent teams and will challenge us. Again, isnt that what we want.
I dont think anyone ever said that SSC wasnt a good program. The issue is that they claim to develop and really what they do is add players from other programs. See merger. It isnt wrong, just understand who you are. Good luck to your son, and hopefully he isnt pushed out as they keep bringing new players in.
Pray tell what program grows players and keeps them til college..it is all a free for all with us parents drinking the cool aid.
Yes, but if you are a top team/program like SSC why would you have room for 4 new additions?
Every team will make moves for an impact player. Every team. SSC is no different then any other so that should not be held against them. The issue comes into play when they or anyone starts offering up a position and they already have 18+ kids. I know teams are moving to the 22 player number, but that doesnt make it right. It shouldnt even be allowed.
Maybe that roster of 22 is what SSC is doing. Many teams are doing it, some even have more. NOt sure why anyone would want to be on a team where there are that many players but seems like it is happening.
Absolutely a money thing. My son was on a team where he was playing 5 min a game. The coach kept telling me he's a good player. Made no sense to anyone, Finally, we got tired of their excuses and left. Shame on clubs who take advantage of people this way.
Reality is that if your son was playing 5 minutes a game, you didnt need to ask the coach anything. His actions told you what he really thought of his ability and how he could help the team win. Why would you believe the coach when in fact he was trying to ask him to leave. How is it a money thing? There will always be a last man on the roster, regardless of the size of the roster.
They wanted our money and kept lying to our faces. You don't call that a money thing? How could you even think this is acceptable?
When choosing a club there are no guarantees of play time made in most cases but at the end of the day the cream rises and the lead sinks unless there is a player/coach issue. Before agreeing to any team that's not town based you need to grasp this concept first before wasting your $$. Not saying the coach is right for taking him just saying its to be expected when your son is on the bubble.
They kept lying to your faces? Meaning you kept speaking to the coach? At this age, if the player has an issue, he needs to address it. NOT Mom or Dad. If they kept telling you that he was doing fine and still didnt play him then in all honesty you are the dope here. Why did you believe the coach? Proof is in the play time and he proved to you every game that your son was not needed or wanted. You chose to continue.
In this case there was a guarantee of playing time so please stop acting like you know the situation. It's a long story and I'm definitely not explaining it to an ignorant person like you. Let me guess, you're a coach who does this all the time and you see no problem with it. Speaks a lot about your and your club's integrity.
NOT a coach. You had a guarantee of playing time? No good coach would do that, so you have that on your side. If there was a guarantee then why did you have multiple conversations about it? First game after the guarantee you knew you didnt get what you thought yet it kept happening and you continued to believe them. Too many holes in your story, sorry not believable.
1:25 may be a bit to direct and you might not like their approach but they do make a good point. You should have known after game 1.
in defense of the parent - what was he supposed to do after the coach started playing his son only 5 minutes a game? The son is carded, he is basically locked in to that team for the season (all the other teams are full up). You talk as if he has all these options. You really don't. When the season is over - then you can move. Not clear to me why you are busting balls over this.
Who says he didnt leave, in fact his orignal post states he did leave. To answer your question, yes you can leave. US Club, which most teams utilize mainly, is very easy to manipulate and change. The point I was trying to get across to him was that no coach would play someone 5 minutes a game if they wanted him to stay. They wanted him to leave and the coach didnt have the balls to tell the parent. He didnt want to see it. I do feel bad for the kid, I am sure he is just like any other kid and just wants to play.
No one is locked into playing with a club for an entire season. There is a process you can follow to remove a player off any roster as long as you honor the monetary terms of the contract. Assuming you're paid up and not playing why would the club hold you? That part doesn't make sense. Perhaps the club wanted the $ for the release?
Not a lot of it makes sense, of course he could have left. Seems to be a star in parents eyes but not in the coaches eyes. Coach always wins.
1:51 I go even further and say they should off known before the season started. All you have to do is watch a few practices and from there you can gauge more or less where your kid is going to be on the lineup. If you are the 14 player and below on that roster you know playing time is going to be limited. Anyway, I don’t think a coach should guarantee any kid playing time, if a coach does that then he is not a good coach.
If the coach is only playing his #14 player for 5 mins on a roster of 18 I would assume the ones below that player would also be getting little or no time as well. In that case its the coaches fault for filling the bottom portion of his roster with below average players for the purpose of collecting a check. In that scenario the club is guilty as charged.
No one said he was the #14 player, that was an example. No #14 player is getting 5 minutes per game. 5 minutes per game is as good as saying, hey player will you please leave because we dont have a spot for you.
Can't argue with that thinking.
Looking out for your son is never a bad thing. Just don't blindly believe everything you hear, but do believe what you see.
Most every team has a player that does not receive a lot of play time and the parent believes his son/daughter is a top 5 player on the team. We all look at our own with rose colored glasses on.
Glasses or not it's poor business for the coach to not openly communicate the play time issue honestly with the parents and player. Coach should have said Little Tommy isn't playing because he's not good enough. If you have another team we will let him go. If you don't you should start looking for one because we are moving on without him. To bench a kid and keep quiet is an awful coaching practice.
9:57 you are correct. However, in the scenario that was given I am more apt to believe that the parent heard what he/she wanted to hear. I put full responsibility on the parent because after one discussion with the coach he still played 5 minutes. Seeing is believing! I can only assume that it is over now and this boy has found a new team.
New to this forum. Does anyone know anything about the U16 MFA team?
Yes, I know about the U16 MFA team. It currently has 16 committed players, most from the '99 Academy team and some kids from the '98 team. Also picked up a couple of kids from PDA and other good teams. This team last played together in the Delco Cup and made it to the finals in top bracket, and also played in the National final of Super Y a couple of summers ago. Should be a very competitive team in EDP. Think they are looking to add 2-3 more players.
MF has not been mentioned on this site and within 40 minutes you get an answer? That is because you answered your own question. You are weird.
Why would someone pay MF Academy prices and not get the Academy benefits? You should just call yourself Cranbury again.
Match Fit, I wish you the best of luck, but really are you selling what you did a year ago and a couple of summers ago? You are not even close to having the same team and you lost key players. I am sure you will be fine, but take a step back before NJX comes on here telling us how good they were years ago too. Again, good luck but please dont act like NJX or pretend not to be looking for players. Be better.
Wow, 26minutes after my post I have 3 sngry replies. And I am weird? Yes a couple of players are not with the team from back then but we picked up a few. Not looking to fight, call MF and check, we are looking for 2-3 more players just like every other team at this stage. See you all in the Spring and good luck with your high school seasons!
No, you were called out on asking the question and then in return answering it. Yes you did.
Do you know any way that I could prove you wrong? If so I would be happy to do it.
To 1:25's point. MF has not been discussed on this forum and in 1/2 hour 2 MF posts one answering the other appeared. I, like 1:25 and the prior poster find it to be very fishy and if it stinks like fish it is fish. Dont worry, you are not the first to try, you just didnt do a good job at it. So, to answer your question, no I do not think there is a way to prove it and I would not try. Lets just move on.
In defense of 12:22, I'm 11:40. My son plays in PA now and is looking for a new team. I see the MFA trains in Mercer County and that's not a terrible commute to make if the MFA team is a good one. So thank you 12:22 for your input. I probably will avoid using this forum in the future. Good luck all.
We have a few kids from PA., Bucks County area. May help with the commute if you decide to give MF a shot.
Lol. U did it again.
4:02 you should give MF a try. Very good organization and very good coaches. My son played there and we liked very much. Only left because the commute was a bit too far.
MF a good organization you say. Please give some examples of how they are. What has MF done to gain that reputation in your mind.
Everyone has a different experience. For us, was the fact that my son enjoyed playing with the kids there, team was good, my son liked his coach very much and he thought he was very good. Also, everyone from the president, DOC and other coaches knew who your kid was. We did not few our kid was just a number.
Match Fit does not have a strong reputation. They do have a reputation for taking entire teams and calling them theirs. Not much development going on with that business model. Fake academy at best.
And what academy do you know develops a good number of their players. Most players when they go to an academy already have the soccer skills and that is how they were able to make the academy team in the first place. If you check the roster of Red Bulls,PDA, NJCSA, CSA most of their players come from somewhere else within the pass one or two seasons.
Point was, I believe, that MF would always take a team and call it theirs while RB, PDA would take individual players. If you are paying you are not in a real academy system.
MF was officially kicked out form the academy system last year
Wrong you are.
Will you explain please because I was told that Match Fit will continue as a club but has lost academy status.
To be an academy team at Match Fit, there has to be no cost to the player. See Red Bulls. For the most part they told everyone that they would not be on an academy team any longer but the U15 boys for example pay nothing and are in the academy system.
As an update, Stronghold did add some additional players and will be better then ever. Added resources will allow players to compete to even be on the game day roster. Looking forward to HS season but really cant wait until it is over.
Waw, better then ever. Our teams better watch out now!!!
stronghold is pre-season favorite to win it all
Stronghold is the greatest. Just ask them!
Doubt if above posts are from stronghold, just the usual of someone trying to stir things up
I agree that they are all not from SSC, but to think that none of them are is naive. Stronghold does think they are at the top, just speak to them and they will tell you.
Any HS teams projected to be elite this year?
CBA is supposed to have a very good team this fall.
Gill St. Bernard should be a team that no one will want to play. Good talent, work well together.
Montclair High... Loads of SDFC and TSF players of all ages.
That makes sense 1:08, good luck to Montclair HS.
Montclair HS boys are doing so far this season 3-0
West Orange vs Montclair this Tuesday. Both are 4-0 I believe. Should be an interesting game. Both sides carry SDFC, TSF, PDA players....
What is the big deal about TSF and PDA non academy players? They are fine but nothing special.
They're good club players and when you put them all together, the results are interesting.
Depends if the coach plays them. Some HS coaches play Sr's and Jr's regardless of skill level. Some HS coaches play the big kids, some look for speed and dont care about footwork. Most HS coaches dont know where to play them and put defenders at forward. Comical.
True. HS soccer is very different from club. HS Coaches try to make up for lack of skill with physical play. I've seen good players get injured playing HS soccer.
Montclair High school boys now 5-0
Go Montclair HS!!!!
Regarding post above asking about tsf "non-academy" players. tsf isn't an academy - even if they use the term - so all their players are non-academy.
No kidding it says TSF and PDA non academy players.
They have great players but the coach is also excellent. He's had winning teams for about 20 yrs.
PDA is an official academy so they have academy players and non-academy players. TSF just pretends they're an official academy but don't let them fool you.
Who has great players? TSF or PDA Messi? IF they do have great players then they have coaching problems because neither team does anything well as a team.
I meant that Montclair HS has some good players but the Montclair HS coach is an excellent coach. He gets the best out of his players.
No such thing as a good HS coach.
You don't know him because if you did , you would know he's an excellent coach.
Really annoying. The stupid SDFC parents on here now talking about Montclair HS team. It's the same kids for the most part and neither team can win a championship in either league.
Why are you so annoyed and angry?...winning to me is the continuation of developing a player at this age, not just winning a tournament. I get it High School is not developmental, but SDFC is. Sometimes we take for granted the little things in life....let your child enjoy the moment wether winning or loosing, they both have learning curves.
The Montclair HS team isn't only SDFC. I recognize names from 5 different clubs on the roster.
Just let the boys enjoy playing and be happy for them.
11:13 "no such thing as a good hs coach". What a very narrow minded thing to say, especially when some top club coaches happen to be high school coaches as well....St Benedict's coach has done PDA and now Cedar Stars, Seton Hall Prep coach does Copa teams, Delbarton coach has done FCNJ teams, Gill coach is the coaching director of Stronghold SSC, Pingry ast coaches , who run the show there, have done PDA, Mo- Beard coaches run Jersey United, Princeton Day School coach is director of Matchfit, MKA coaches involved at TSF, Franklin coach does PDA teams, Bernards coach does FC Berna teams, .....the list can go on and on........
Well said, case close.
Yes you are right, of the thousands of High Schools there are 10 quality coaches. Moron.
SSC has many playing on one team also, I don't recall seeing a SSC post about their great HS team. Why does SDFC feel the need to constantly be on this site pounding their chest? I just don't get it.
Why don't you make one? I'm sure you'll get lots of support. Nobody's trying to say that one high school team is better than the other.
