It's all rec.
High school isn't that good..if u r on a top team with good players.. How many girls on the high school team are good maybe 2/3 girls and u have a coach that knows nothing and will teach your kid bad habits
The age year change will be much harder than you think. Take a club like Pda for example, the current u13 team has a bunch of 03 starters on A team according to the u13 blog. Then u have a two other very good teams at that age group with 2003 girls and then girls coming in from other teams. So going into 2016 season being an 03 in this age group won't be a cake walk getting spots on the team, especially if you are a 2004. Starting spots will be very hard.
Some strong 03s will want to play with 02 team and so on. Every age group will have new guidelines. It will be no different then it is now in terms of the total number of nj youth players. Age groupings are just shifting.
PDA Lyon moves from first division U12 to second division U13. So predictable.
In a less competitive division they can focus more on development.
Maybe they will be playing with some of the U13 players looking forward to next year's new age guidelines.
Why does Lyon, a great team with a proven track record of success Only play up in the second division of edp, yet the strikers with NO proven record of anything other than 7th place in the second division of Spring edp get to play in the top division of u12 edp? You'd think Lyon would be able to play in first division a year up not the strikers. Just doesn't make sense.
Because they can't win in U13 Div 1. Easier to brag and run up scores against weaker opponents. They are all bark and no bite.
The one thing I'll say about the Strikers, at least they play up at the highest level and don't duck anyone. Also, who in any of the 2nd flights beat them?
www.voorheesxtreme.comYou can say one thing for sure they are organized! Most is password protected. Xtreme camp? The picture is the old team on the cover. Not sure who they lost. Got soccer shows a roster of 17 now.
It's one of those things where you look bad if you play at your level and beat up everyone or you play up and get abused for the level they put you at!! Overall a team or individual player will not get better as a player if they aren't challenged. I'd rather take some lumps and challenge myself as a player. Beating up on less skilled teams does get old and pays no dividends in the end. I say let the better teams play up and stop knocking them!
Who is knocking them? Just trying to understand. The challenge would be to be play up in a top division, not a lower division.
Again stop worrying about what PDA Lyon are doing. Why do you care? Worry about your own daughter and her club.
You talk a big game about being the best team in region, but you never play any? If you guys are so good and an older team for majority, see how you do in top discussionThe second div has horrible teams.
Because PDA has a good reputation can I learn from watching what they do for their players and try to emulate it for my player?
Why does PDA Zizou play 1st division?

Lyon will be fine. Their coach has been coaching girls at PDA from start of the club. He has multiple state, region and even a national title. Who are you? A helicopter Mom or Dad jealous of the little girls who are the best at what they do? Jealous of a coach who knows what he's doing while you don't? You people are small.

BTW...Lyon coach done after this season
Do a favor. Put an @ x:xx (time) So we know who u r talking to.
REALNJSC will win in Marlton and Spirit--Heard it here first
"BTW...Lyon coach done after this season"It's great that the PDA DOC told you what's happening. With the age teams coming he could very well be coaching 1 or 2 or 3 more years with this age group.
Lyon coach will prob b done bc the team will be no more. the 03's that are good enuff will go to ecnl and 04's will be pre-ecnl or form another team. just a guess. Lyon blue just disappeared, same will happen.
"I had a dream last night. I dreamt I was a dove flying over the sea. And then I dove into the ocean... And I swam with the dolphins. I was two animals joined as one... which meant - good things are coming. Good things."
@4:28 Lyon Blue is now Zizou.
Could be worse....at least they're not called Kaka (like U13 boys).
High school is rec.August 11, 2015 at 9:02 PMIt may be where you are, but where I live the history is strong. The parade all americans that have come before and the state titles that have been one make kids want to play there. The starters on the varsity play at PDA, MFA, and a few other top clubs. I understand this the exception and not the rule.
Why did Lyon blue change name??
New coach changed it...
All the PDA teams do that eventually to create their own identity.
Why does it seem like all the bashing is directed towards PDA teams Lyon and Strikers? No one really ever bad mouths the south or shore Pda teams. Is it because they are good or just the ones that people choose to bash? Also, when reading some of the bashing about players or the coach on the Strikers, it seems like it is coming from parents from that team? Am I missing something? If this is true, then why play for them and stop complaining behind an anonymous identity!
Lyon and Strikers are their A teams. My kid is not at PDA, but I can tell you both coaches are very good and could coach my kid any day.
What evidence do you have that the Striker coach is good? List his youth girls soccer accomplishments...
There is none. This is only his 3rd year of coaching girls soccer. He is literally the only coach at PDA who gets involved with the parents of the kids and its ton of side dramas and playing time deals and roster manipulations. He is grossly unprepared and failing in providing a nurturing environment for his players.
Thanks for clarifying 7:07 am!!reasonable answers but hate when parents complain about the team and coach they play for!! Makes no sense---if you don't like what's going on--speak up or leave!! It doesn't help when you only tell strangers to the situation. You are better off confronting the issue or just to leave. Bottom line is to do what's best for your daughter!!
Angry ex striker dad is back. When people make these type of personal comments it is so obvious that they were cut from a team. I'm sure the club and parents know who you are, can't stand people like this.
Not too sure who the ex parent is and actually don't care! Move on and find a place where your daughter is happy! People that like this will never be happy no matter, where they go....
If you want to complain about your current team shouldn't you do that facebook?
Yawn.... This is so boring! Next topic please.
Anyone hear anything about the barons 03g npl/east coach? Did he leave?
Are most of the Top U12 teams playing in the EDP Cup in October?
Sure, why not. Real will be there. And will beat you if in the same flight/division/bracket.
hey, someone answer the barons question! and don't give some crap about how 'you shouldnt worry about kids soccer-blah blah' if you feel that way get off the blog for u12 girls soccer.
what happened to nj crush fire? where are they playing?
From what I hear, the Barons East coach is moving.
From what I hear Crush is playing in some NY league
Hey 3:55Marlton will win their SJ league flight - you heard it here firstPDA South Barcelona will win the EDP Central 1st flight - you heard it here first See how we all can play the weak "trolling game"? Get a lifeThe difference between us is that we don't overvalue who we are. We just go out and play soccer and let things fall where they may. Voorhees is clearly the favorite at Marlton as we have never beaten them. Yes we probably do expect to win our flight (second) at Spirit so I guess you got it half right.Troll on loser...
Well, we know Real is represented in the blog!Who do you have winning 1st div north?PF in central has picked up much talent, them in central
CRUSH lost top three players to WCFC - they will be much weaker going forward and WCFC will be better and they were already strong.I think they dropped a few and added a lot.
WCFC might be the leader of the pack if they improved that much. Wow.
PDA Barcelona winning Central?? Seriously.... Please tell me your joking, Barcelona can't even beat the U11 PDA South team Milan! Barcelona has had so much turnover and drama, surprised they still call themselves Barcelona.
"WCFC might be the leader of the pack if they improved that much. Wow."They'll have a chance to prove that theory vs Lyon in a few weeks...
Voorhees will win central..they picked up 4 strong players...comment about the barons they lost there coach and at least 2 of he top tier players on the team already they r gonna have a tough year I think..
Voorhees will win BOTH state cup competitions this year along with every tournament they enter and be crowned U12 team of the universe! (You heard it here first)
voorhees picked up at least 5 players. gotsoccer shows 17 and their webpage shows 12 from last season. assuming they didnt lose any.wcfc vs lyon match will give a lot of info if nothing crazy happens. dont think voorhees will hang with them this year.
PDA Zizou will win central division.

Guess you found out where crush is playing.
The other side is NYSC, Manhattan, Brentwood, Massapequa, NY Rush and Intense SA. You play all five in your division and 4 crossover games. This league is only 9v9 and I think the competition is as good or better than the the north and central EDP 9v9 flights.
9v9 is weak at this age group
Tell that to the Federation, because with the age change 9v9 will be all that is offered at U12. I'm sure you know more than they do, so carry on.
If u can read I said 9v9 is weak that the teams are not as good..I didn't say 9v9 was bad or I was against it just that the teams playing in it are not that strong..
Tell that to my nuts
9:02 if you can read or form a proper sentence.....You said exactly what you typed, 9v9 is weak at this age group. You said nothing about teams in your initial post. See how this can be confusing ??? Deeeezzzzz nutsssss
Spirit united schedules are posted.
Hey 8:12, what exactly is so interesting about the flights? If you have something intelligent to say, spit it out. If you have no point, don't be on the blog.
1:09am, if you knew the definition of interesting, you wouldn't have made that comment. So I'm thinking 8:12 is one up on you on the intelligent scale............
Funny how Voorhees is at a tournament this weekend and the board is quiet. Hmmmm...
And they are playing up a year winning. Great little town team. I hope they remain together for a long time. Don't see much of that happening anymore.
There's Voorhees for you. Bragging about winning "up" at the great Marlton Classic. All those teams are weak. Even Real is "winning" in that flight, what does that tell you?
FYI I'm not Voorhees! Are you the intelligent idiot questioning the interesting flight guy? Stfu when you have no clue what you talking about. I'm sure your a sour parent who's kid tried out for Voorhees and didn't make it. Dumbass......
Of course you're not from Voorhees. Too bad your trailer trash mouth gives it away that you are.
But it was ok for Lyon to play up a year and second brackets or weak tournament and win that was ok cause it was PDA what a joke. Voorhees is also missing 3 strong players and doing well that tells you the whole team is good
Wait a second, you said you weren't from Voorhees BUT you know that they are missing 3 of their better players. Nice try!Have fun playing town travel U13 B teams. By the way Voorhees is far from a town travel team. 4 of their best players are from out of town.
Obviously there are 2 different people talking about Voorhees because im not the one who said anything about missing players. But you so smart you know everything hahahaha LOSER
Relax everybody. It's pre-season soccer. Marlton tournament is a tune up for for Spirit United. Nothing worth bragging or bashing about. The girls are just getting a few runs at 11v11. Lighten up.
Saw some Barons East girls guesting this weekend- rumor has it they lost 2 kids already at the end of the season- are more kids leaving that team. I heard a dad coach was taking over- wonder if they will have anyone left.
Daddy coach at the barons are you serious. Why pay all that money for a dad coach that is funny. That club is a joke every year there kids leave. That shows something about the club. If your better players keep leaving something is broken
So obviously a dad coach doesn't know anything about soccer.
Seriously! Run. Im sure some teams still have open spots.
Who were they guesting with?
It's obvious the ones commenting about a dad taking over the barons east and that the kids better run or a dad can't run the team, goes to show you know nothing about any of the parents on the team. There's a father that can easily take over the team BECAUSE HE ALREADY WORKS FOR THE BARONS ugh this is why people need to worry about their own kids and their own teams.
Several of the Barons East kids were guesting with Voorhees this weekend.
Yeah he works for the barons doesn't mean he should be coaching his daughter team plenty of other coaches and teams he can coach. Not saying he isn't a good coach just shouldn't be coaching his kid is the point. Most the parents on that team are not happy he must be your husband that's y u r so upset.
Well we know that is a barons east parent hahaha so defensive
Why not? One of the Barons owners coaches his daughter at another age.
Yeah well when you own the club u can do whatever u want. I think that is stupid to he can coach other teams. Just to much money to pay a dad to coach no matter what there back round is. That's y parents choose academy teams to get away from that
@12:06. Please don't compare voorhees to lyon. Voorhees struggled with pda's u -11 team. Maybe you guys do need a reality check.
12:06 should also include the fact that they guested players from SJ Barons when they say they had "3 strong players missing". No problem with it but don't act like you were short handed. Guess they were worried their lower level players couldn't step up?
hahaha- thats ridiculous to pay that much money to have daddy coaching your team at an academy. Lets all guess who gets the most play time. Well, they didn't do very well with 2 players down in the summer tournament and I can bet more people will leave being told dear daddy is now coaching their kids, even if he is a Barons coach (defensive Barons parent!). I doubt anyone has to worry about the Barons this season- sounds like they are on their way out.
11:44 You Sound bitter lmao
Anybody watch the Voorhees matches? Did the Barons girls look strong on that team?
are we going back to talking about individual players on here. Real classy. Either your someone who has shit to say or you are trying to get a little bragging in for your kid on the forum. We've seen that here before. We don't need to talk about indivual players. Move on.
Don't want to point out any particular player but the whole team looked good. Real was their only real competition.
Not trying to single anyone out. Want to know if they were game changers. Not individual performance or names or whatever. No need to get pissy. Also don't need to answer. I'm not with any team that was in Marlton this weekend. Our team doesn't need to get tuned up by playing weak teams. Let alone bring guest players from other teams to go beat up on lesser squads. Someone mentioned earlier that Barons east kids were guest playing and you failed to attack them. Sounds like you need to get something to make you happy instead of being so miserable.
From NTX:I wanted to update you on the changes that are underway with the USSF Player Development Initiatives. This is what we believe to be true at this point in time. We are still verifying some aspects of this and will let you know if changes take place. This will affect all:- North Texas Member Associations' registration of players and formation of teams- North Texas Competitive Club team formation- North Texas league playing rules and field layouts- All other Federation organizationsI have attached some documents to help you understand the initiatives. The Player Development Initiatives presentation was provided to us by the Federation to help explain the small sided game plan. It outlines their recommendations on field size as well as the number of players on the field, game length, etc.The highlights of the small sided formats are:U8 and below - 4 v 4, no goal keeperU9, U10 - 7 v 7, goal keeper, but no puntingU11, U12 - 9 v 9We are expecting some lattitude on the sizes of fields as associations and playing leagues are working with any field modifications necessary.I have also attached a spreadsheet that has two tabs. One tab compares where we are now with where we need to be by 2017 on small sided soccer. The key differences for NTX are the U7/U8 age group, where we will need to move down to 4 v 4 and the U11/U12 age group where we need to move down to 9 v 9. We are recommending that we move the U7 to 4 v 4 and the U11 to 9 v 9 next year, so that when they move up to U8 and U12 the following year, they will be keeping the same playing format. Then going into 2017, everyone will have transititioned to the desired format. There is another tab on the calendar year age groups. North Texas Soccer is planning to make this change for the 2016/2017 playing year. We are in the process of confirming with USSF that these are the correct birth years for the correct age groups for 2016/17 and that all of the other programs that we interact with are changing at the same time. It will mean that half of each current age group will repeat their age group, if they decide to play within their calendar birth year age group. We will be extensively revising the North Texas rules, submitting them to the membership for approval at the mid-year AGM in January. To minimize the disruption to already formed teams, we are recommending changes to the rules regarding playing up. Keeping in mind that a team is always designated by the age of their oldest player, we are recommending that players be permitted to play up at any age group. Then teams with half of their players with one calendar year birthdate and half with another can continue to play together, just designated as the older age. Associations and clubs could then begin at the youngest age groups with players all from the same calendar birth year and phase into age pure teams. In addition, any new players added to teams could be added to their own calendar year age group. If a club or association wanted to go ahead and make adjustment to existing teams, hopefully with minimal upset to players and parents, theywouldhave the ability to do that.We will plan time at the AGM to discuss the implementation of these changes, so we are all ready to start with registration in next summer. I will also be working with the Competitive Committee to make any rules recommendations necessary to help make this a smooth transition. This is a lot of changes in a very short period of time and we are very fortunate to be working with a great group of associations and clubs that I am sure will work together and get this done.Thank you for all you do for the players and your organizations.Sincerely,JanetJanet CampbellYouth CommissionerNTX Soccer
Who cares what Voorhees does. Good for them they won a weak tournament. With as many points they have on GOT SOCCER they don't gain anything from winning. They will get zero points. Why not get your foot on the ball before your season starts in game play besides practice. Did anyone watch the games? Any Voorhees parents wish to comment on this past weekends games?

Voorhees should have no problem advancing to semi's beyond that its really a toss up. Bracket B is a toss up as well. SJEB has a chance but not sure who will show up to play. brackets C & D South shore I would assume. Finals Voorhees v. South shore with Voorhees winning. Voorhees was a finalist last year and lost in PK's against Lower Merion. Voorhees has to many new weapons. But, its soccer so who knows. Voorhees could show up and get crushed. Just my opinion. Good luck to all teams. Stay healthy!
People have been posting some negative comments, but SJEB is stronger then ever and should win this weekend
Hahaha sjeb is done they lost 2 players and now 2 more just left I don't think they win a game at all this year. Sounds like you rather be on the west team at this point
Spirit hard to guage since so many good 8v8's are now playing 11v11. Teams could have added talent or just bodies. Hard not to pick the reliable names; Voorhees, BRYC, South Shore, HMMS, etc as top flight contenders. Penn Fusion is a great club so they should show well. Hard to tell until teams start getting real games under their belt.

1:13 and 12:58 said it better then I could.... Its anyones tournament.
Watched Real play Voorhees on Sunday. Real played well, just a few shots on goal. Mostly roll ups. They tend to feed their center forward who is fast. Voorhees is not a big team size wise. Forwards and midfielders are fast and constantly feed the balls. Seems they have a few set plays and they stick to it. Not much to say. It was a good game but not great. 0-0 first half and then two quick goals by Voorhees early in 2nd half and that was it. Lots of subbing due to the heat I assume.
Was under the impression age changes would be 2 years out. Sounds like Texas interpreting as next year.
Should be a lot of good soccer to watch at Spirit!Hope the girls have fun!I am intrigued by the completely contradictory SJEB comments.Would be nice to catch one of their matches.
@1:48 the contradictory comments are interesting. I looked at their gotsoccer roster just because I was interested- I don't know how accurate those are, but they have 16 on their roster- even if they lost 2 more players, I'm sure they might have picked up some new players so they are probably not in bad shape. I guess this weekend will show how all the teams are doing with player changes going into the new season.
Unfortunately their gotsoccer account is not updated. Out of the 16 listed on roster 3 of them are not on team for the upcoming fall season and if 2 more really left (if there's any truth in that)that would only give them 11 that's tough for a team playing 11v11.
Thats strange- you would think the roster would be up to date.
Lazy team manger on that team
Do most of the top teams in NJ have full-time keepers? My daughter likes the position, but not sure playing it all the time will help her? Thoughts......
Accounts were frozen until recently and you could not make changes. There are very few rosters on Got Soccer that is accurate right now. Some teams still have last year, and some have both.
Yes, most of the top teams have full time keepers at U12. This is about the age where you need to start thinking about making a choice.
My daughter is a full time keeper. If the score is large enough she will get field time but she starts and usually plays the entire game in goal. If the player likes the position then everything is good. You almost have to love it. Goalies are a little nuts, lots of pressure and lots of anxiety every game, but also a lot of pride when a great save is made. A great analogy, a golfer makes bad shots all round, and feeling miserable, last hole makes a great shot and it was a great day! Keepers do the same thing, can get lit up in the game but one great save and she or he will be right back in goal the next game. Need too be able to shake it off. No more tears at this age.
"Do most of the top teams in NJ have full-time keepers? My daughter likes the position, but not sure playing it all the time will help her? Thoughts...... "Don't do it. Yes, they all *want* a dedicated goalkeeper.About half of the small group of elite goalkeepers that were being looked at for u12 Region One goalies turned it down at camp, including the top prospect. Even more in the non-elite group were stopping. If a girl is athletic enough and has potential to be a top keeper now, she should be doing something else, until much later, and most also want that. Let them run around the field. All the greats -- Hope Solo, Jill Loyden, Tim Howard etc. started goal late. It will not make one bit of (positive) difference where she ends up, if she decides on goal, if she starts now. Starting early produces shot-stoppers for the benefit of the club and the other players, not sweeper-keepers that will last and develop. She will lose the big picture game perspective that she will need to make her a top goalkeeper. Most that specialize now will get discarded around u15-u16 when it gets competitive. Without having done field for several years, there will be no place left to go. U12 and under keepers tend to be the overweight and/or awkward. If she's athletic, stay away for now.Make no mistake, if she is a full-time keeper now, she will be spending money and time to perform a service to the club and other players, with little or no benefit to her. All it will get her is endless stalking by coaches desperate to fill this hole (or alternatively those worried fixated on her because someone else has filled theirs or angry that she left), so they can concentrate on soccer.Tell the coach you want to see at least 3 other girls doing keeper and everyone rotating in once in a while, before she ever sets foot between the posts. It's a waste for a top keeper to be standing for an hour in a 10-0 blow out. She should be getting experience on the field. Put strict limits on goal time vs. field time before in writing before you join a team.
Very very good advice from 7:48. Kudos to you.
That is why I moved my daughter from a one keeper team to a team with a keeper. This will enhance both keepers they both get a little field time and they both push each other to be the best they can be. A full-time goalie at U14 and under is not for the development of the keeper its for the team basically your being used. Standing in a goal for 20 plus games at U11 is a disgrace and it happens all the time.
two keeper team makes sense for many reasons but 7:48? "3 other girls doing keeper" (so a FOUR keeper team) and "everyone rotating in once in a while"...that's never going to happen. why would you want this? which games? you expect someone to play keeper "once in a while" and do a decent job of it? why not have everyone rotating all positions all the time?
7:48 made some very good points. My daughter is the starting keeper for her team. I will keep some of your thoughts with me for the future. Thank you
Sounds like good rec soccer advice, not for the premiere level. Look at Lyons keeper, she is the real deal and invited to natl camps. No, can't stand Lyons, but she is one of the main reasons they do well and this is great for team and she knows she is a keeper for the long.
110 make sure to go in with your demands in writing
At u12 should be considering specializing (if elite level) but in order to do so, the technical skill should be in place. If the goalkeeping ability is there but technical ball skills are not, the player will be limited in the future. If she gets stuck in goal, for whatever reason, you should try to get additional training for the ball skill. Even just doing some coerver or beastmode drills on her own could be sufficient, if she is driven enough and does them often enough.Ultimately comes down to desire and athleticism of the player. If they are good enough and want it bad enough, they will succeed.
What if the girl is a fantastic keeper but only an average field player?
3:39 - then play her in goal
Elite keepers are very rare in region 1 and even more rare at U12. Keep dreaming
All our little U12 darlings are elite, getting college scholarships and playing on a world stage!
@August 20, 2015 at 9:18 AM Would you like to be formally known as "the dream killer" HahaYou should sign your posts with that name.
10:03 can be known as "the dreamer"
@ 1:46 Don’t think you can predict how anyone will do at anything based on 11 yo performance. A u12 national trainee got cut from her club by u13, just this past year. The numbers pick up a lot at u13, the quality picks up a lot around u15, u16 and beyond. The premier clubs drive this phenomenon because an ahead-of-the-pack goalie at this age is such a total game changer for the team. That doesn’t make it a good idea, nor make it pan out for the girl. The team advantage won’t last past the teen years, when all premiers have a good goalie. So, why make a good but not great field team look stellar by sacrificing one girl’s development? It buys the coach time and helps attract better field players in the next try-outs. The coach will swear your girl she will be everything from a D-1 goalie, to better than Hope Solo to get her to perform this service for him. He will swear she will have 90% field time to get her to do it. Promises. Writing. Also, carefully check out the other “goalies”. If they are field players with no desire to be there or fumble fingers who can’t be on the team otherwise, you have no back-up goalie. If your girl is much better than the alternatives, you have to look at the schedule. Are there enough “easy” games that this/these girls can handle? If not, you have no back-up goalie. @ Aug 19 1:00 pm I can dream, can’t I? It is roughly what US Youth Soccer guidelines suggest. And if the rent-a-goalies aren’t good enough to get it? You pick weaker opponents and scrimmages. Then your 10-0 blow-out turns into a 4-2 win. Don’t have enough of those? Then the goalie is propping up the team.It won’t happen unless the parents/girls refuse these fulltime positions and the governing organizations step in as well. All should experience goal, if nothing else so they know how hard it is and won’t be so quick to blame their own goalie. @ Aug 19 2:47 There’s nothing that replaces being on the field as far developing soccer IQ and foot skills. The above hypothetical coach may tell you this is true/it doesn’t make a difference to get her to perform a service for him. But, you are right, can’t coach height, can’t coach fearless or drive. These will be there at age 16 or 17. @ Aug 19 3:39 Maybe join the best team she can play field. Otherwise she risks being discarded in a few years. She will be a much better goalie, in the long run. ODP is a good place to get extra goalie experience in.
@12:34You shall be known as "the Sage" or simply "Sage"To the keeper parent: The Sage is wise and I, for one, concur.
I'm loving all this "keeper" chatter! Definitely, going to see some peppering of keepers this weekend at Spirit United. U12 bracket is severely uneven. Did they use a dartboard to chose brackets?
Which brackets? Championship level?
Who do we think comes out of each of these brackets?Bracket AAztec LerouxMassapequa Fury - BlueVoorhees XtremeBracket BPenn Fusion Elite '03Premier SC StormSJEB '03 EastBracket CBryc 03 EliteCouncil Rock United FC Bucks InfernoPHWM SC Bayhawks PremierBracket DSouth Shore Select u12 EliteHMMS Eagle FC 03 LegendsLTSC Lightning 03/04 (PURPLE)My guess is Leroux / SJEB / FC Bucks / South ShoreElite Bracket AHarrisonMechanicsburgSJASJEB WestBracket BFox ChaseFreehold Flash BluePDA Shore FreedomReal Madrid My guess is SJA / Real
A VoorheesB penn fusion C byrcD south shore Sjeb your funny that team is over. They are brining u-11 players to fill the roster just so they don't have to forfeit
SJEB could be in trouble. Voorhees and South Shore in the final. South Shore victory!
I think Aztec and SJEB are being underestimated here. Will be fun to watch and it looks like the weather is going to play along nicely.
now, now- I am sure SJEB will fill in the holes with strong u11 players so maybe they will be okay.
I agree the side with the Aztec team is a toss up. Could be Voorhees or Aztec, last time they played Voorhees only beat them by 1 point. You never know if they both teams picked up or dropped girls. But saying SJEB is a contender right now is a long shot. At least 4 of their better half of the roster has left and trying to find quality replacements last minutes wont help them this weekend. It's unfortunate as that team was actually pretty good.
@3:55 - the "now, now" almost had me spit out my soup that I was crying in.@4:02 - Aztec is a good side in that match. May be one of the best Saturday matches in u12.If Voorhees runs through Aztec, they should make the final.
Scores don't always tell the story. Voorhees/Aztec at Bethesda was one sided. That was 8v8 and no one knows how that transitions to 11v11. I don't see much MA soccer but Voorhees on paper looks awfully solid. Should be a great match.
Voorhees on paper looks solid what does that mean..do you know all the names of the kids on the team and how they play..if you are not a Voorhees parent then you are a loser
It means they added talent to an already strong team. Duh.
They also a few players, one of them being their best player who played center back. Still a strong team though
They also *lost* a few players...
Voorhees lost their best player? Not singling someone out but this seems like breaking news. Did this just happen? Is there drama in the house of Voorhees?Additionally, what happened to NPL? Don't see any NPL brackets. Might not be looking in the proper location.
Voorhees didn't loose there best player at all. Just a parent trying to stir the pot. NPL doesn't start till u-13
Can a team "play up" into NPL if their club is a member?
Not sure of this center back that you speak of ???????? They lost 2 kids I believe from last year both were ok players. Best your pushing it now.
if the team is good enough I am sure you can play up. Just have to prove that you should be there
Anyone who says that the center back wasn't the best player is just plain being silly.
They also added a few U11s who are good players but clearly not difference makers playing up a year.
Someone is stirring the pot on this fine Friday.
Pretty sure 2 years ago MFA Pre-ECNL played up at U13 in the NortheastNPL.
We will find out tomorrow. Funny PDA and Voorhees get a lot of crap on this blog they must be doing something right! Aztec Voorhees game should be pretty good first game of the day. Penn fusion is gonna smoke through SJEB. South shore will coast to the finals and win it all. Voorhees/south shore 4-1 south shore final.
PDA will take over Voorhees out of camaraderie. Become the PDA "even more south" team.Aztec plays a match before the Voorhees match. Posit that Voorhees will be flat as it is their first match of the day and Aztec comes out strong due to a nice warm up match.Of course, if the previous poster is correct that Voorhees was dominant in the prior meeting, this could be an easy victory for the town team. Also sounds as if the former Voorhees fullback has a coach or parent on the blog. I don't know her but I am sure she is a fantastic player!Welcome!
Voorhees has never had a team score more then 3 goals against them in any game EVER! Check GOT SOCCER, it goes back to 2012. Never under estimate the town teams. Their keeper is full time and very good.
Maybe the fullback was their best player. Not to take credit away from the keeper.
Voorhees had two players who decided to move on after the Spring season. They were an asset to the team, as all their players are. Both moved up to U13. Players move on, and the team moves on as well accordingly.
All the adults should have some alcohol and put the kids to bed nice and early. Throw on some slow jamz, maybe some Barry White, and wake up in a great mood. Worst case, pack the Xanax.
One can't judge a goalie only by the low score.Does she win in PKs?Are the opponents weak? Are the defenders strong? Do her parents rant and rave about how she is being fouled the second a striker is within 30 paces to try and intimidate the strikers get the refs to call stuff?Does she flop and cry whenever a striker comes within 30 paces to elicit same?Does she genuinely foul strikers? Grab them by the ankles in the box, etc?See the above rhetoric on young goalies. Peace.
Love all the keeper chatter. I hate to upset people here but Lyon seems to have - by far - the best young keeper. U.S. Soccer training since she was 10 -according to some parents, maybe bs and what is she like 5 feet 9 at 11 years old??? We played her twice last season. My daughter played up at U12 last season and we saw her up close twice. The punts go 60 with hang time and the side winder drop kicks go 50 but than run far and her throw outs go far and wide. Even though we were a very good U12 team - one of the very few to ever beat Lyon - I'd say she was the best overall player we faced last season...
So then why were the coaches using all their cell phone minutes all summer trying to recruit another goalie in the area to replace her?
@ 2:27 aka boorhees goalie daddydont forget that there is a defense out there. And what's so great about not giving up more than 3 goals? That could be said about a lot of teams.
Voorhees lost 3-1
Voorhees beat Aztecs 3-1. What are you talking about??!!
Maybe someone could answer this for me????? Is there a certain age where players are not allowed to play up or at a certain age where others on the team will leave and the girls who have played up for years will have to stay and play with the same age??
Generally, kids can play one year up only until u13, then two years.Whether or not to continue playing a kid up is decided at try-outs.
That's funny cause I was at the game Voorhees lost 3-1 website is wrong.voorhees should have one just couldn't finish the ball there striker up top was just out played.
Website wrong? Seriously? What a joke
US Club rules mandate kids being allowed to play up.
Voorhees is finally a town team in a club world... Word is Voorhees was dominate in first half but out coached in the 2nd... 3-1, two nice goals and one PK that was stopped but the rebound was strong. Voorhees should have, could have closed the game out first half. Better team won. God help Aztec if they meet again. Voorhees is not happy!
God help? U12 soccer?
I watched some of that game to Voorhees was strong in the first half. I watched Voorhees coach leave the new barons girl on the back most of the game. I have seen her play and was weird to see they didn't use her on offense at all.
Voorhees will win BOTH state cup competitions this year along with every tournament they enter and be crowned U12 team of the universe! (You heard it here first)- I've been around it so much over the years but it's always sad when a great or formerly great town team starts to slide down. There is no stopping it either. Several years ago there was the great team from Howell. Coach V and his daughter who is now at Syracuse. They used to beat PDA Slammers who went on to be the greatest youth girls soccer team of all time - then the slide happened and the star went to PDA & they just ended at U13...it was sad...Vorhees you are on notice...Losing to a tier 4 Massachusetts squad is bad news...
Some interesting wins and losses today- makes you wonder if some of the teams were just off today or if they are weaker/stronger going into the fall with some of their new roster changes. Can't wait to see what tomorrow brings. Good luck to all the girls and teams!
I love fantasy football. When will the U12 NJ EDP fantasy draft take place this year? I hate to break it to everyone in Southern New Jersey, It is U12 youth soccer, but interesting book reading.U12 Barons East vs Voorhees? Thoughts? Anyone see that coming? Spirit United games result from Day 1 looked interesting, I only can go by the website results for my opinions? Was not at the tournament.Have a great U12 youth soccer season everyone!!!!
Looks like voorhees isn't quite ready for the next level.
Based on 2nd half performance vs. Aztec I would have to agree.
They caught a break not having to play south shore. That team looks dangerous. That may have been an a** whooping.
Based on website scores, south shore is the real deal.
South shore would have killed vorheesThey beat the team that beat them 3 to 1 /. 9 to 1.
@ 3:05 ... You my friend are a genius. It take you all afternoon to come up with that one?
They should be playing up. Honestly, team is a little mismanaged. You get very little out of 9-1 wins.
South Shore is real deal. I watched 1st half of final vs. Aztec. Very solid team. The striker is a rock star; fast, great footwork and unselfish. Whole team plays with confidence and speed.
They play Lyon in 2 weeks. I guess we will see how good Lyon is . Or not.
The last time Lyon played them was in final of the PDA tournament in April. 0-0 after regulation and overtime. 1 pk made by SS vs 0 made by Lyon for the SS win.
I saw 1st half vs Aztec too. They were up 5-0. At one point a group of SJ E Barons older girls walked by and yelled her name like she was famous and she waved back during the game! One thing I'll say - Lyon is like the biggest girls team I've seen at U12 and these girls are uniquely tiny. Great but very very tiny and almost U10ish. Lyon should mark up or do whatever they did to shut her out in April. They're goalie was not all that honestly - tiny also and did allow 3 goals this weekend.,,,Goalie could be their weakness in my opinion.
