U12G - U12 Girls Youth Soccer

This is a time when players develop a true love for the game and the focus is a little more intense, on the field and on the sidelines...

Blah blah. Talk is cheap. SDFC and PDA Lyon should just play. Waste of time trying to guess/assume/justify who would win based on past results.

Anonymous said...

Also a waste of time being overly concerned about what team of 10 and 11 year old kids whould win a soccer match against another team of kids.

Anonymous said...

The person who posted the PDA scores is a troll. People are jealous of all the clubs that have success. Worry about your team. Stop posting crap that makes other clubs look bad. These girls are 11. How about we all enjoy our kids playing a sport they love.

sjeb east and west go to nj youth soccer forum for adds if you are such a mighty soccer power why blow up the blog with all your needs.

Anonymous said...

STA 4-1 over NJ Crush? Wow

Anonymous said...

@ 2:22 I think whoever posted from sjeb is posting on forums because they know these can be a good resource for any parent that might want to know about options for their 11 year old player. I also think whoever it is knows that not everyone on the forums are as much of a tool as you are for posting something that ridiculous and living transgressively though their kids soccer team.

a wise man once said, it's better to keep your mouth shut than open it up and remove all doubt.

Anonymous said...

Actually what the wise man once said was:

It is better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt.

But nice try...

Anonymous said...

These forums are are a resource but of limited use. Just check out the clubs in a reasonable distance. Evaluate cost, coaching, team mates, level of play, commitment desired/required and make a good choice for your player.

Anonymous said...

What has happened to CRUSH? Also heard the best players are moving on, looks like they may have already moved on...

Anonymous said...

Where did they go? Lots of movement this year as is expected when most teams move from 8v8 to 11v11.

Anonymous said...

I bet a lot of teams stay 8v8 or at least don't go to 11v11.

Anonymous said...

Just so that everyone knows, EDP made the announcement last month that for the Fall 2015 season U11 will go all 9v9 & U12 will have option of 9v9 or 11v11 (this will eventually go all 9v9)

Anonymous said...

I would have thought that as well, but I was wrong. Way more teams moving to 11v11 then I would have guessed over the winter.

Anonymous said...

Which top 8v8 team will get the right kids to stay at the top 11v11?

Anonymous said...

Teams go 11v11 for money if they can. 6 more players adds up to 12k plus. If they stay 8v8 it's only because they can't get enough good players or they have enough for multiple teams. It's a money grab, don't agree but it is a way to make a better living.

Anonymous said...

What was the Middletown-SDFC score from tonight?

Anonymous said...

@7:26 Probably not many.

Anonymous said...

@ 8:33 Who cares.

Anonymous said...

@8:33. It was a barn burner. Tons of defense.7-6 middletown. I'm glad these teams are getting more touches at 8v8. That score is embarrassing to the sport

Anonymous said...

Not sure how a 10/11 year olds playing in the rain can be embarassing. Definitely had nothing to do with the weather.

Anonymous said...

@SJB It really isn't age appropriate to be a goalie full-time at U11-U12. There are very few takers for this offer, and even fewer that are good. The latter will be playing up or a top ranked ECNL feeder. But even more likely, she will not want to be limited.

Anonymous said...

So 10 and 11 year old girls playing in the driving rain for the love of the game is embarrassing to the sport? You have zero clue what sports is about and even less of a clue of how to be a decent parent or human being.

Anonymous said...

Sorry I just wasn't happy with the outcome. The game should have been postponed.

Anonymous said...

"@8:33. It was a barn burner. Tons of defense.7-6 middletown. I'm glad these teams are getting more touches at 8v8. That score is embarrassing to the sport"

I'm going to try to interpret…I think this post means that these girls are obviously ready to be playing soccer on a big field. It is the end of U11(an age that for last 40 years has played big field soccer) and the girls are as big as they can be and as skilled as they can be - so a 7-6 score may indicate: It's time to play on a big field so we don't have football scores...

Anonymous said...

Why not try out for a team that plays on 11 x 11 if that is what you want to play?

Anonymous said...

Middketown had a great year and can finish with 22 points. However, if World Class wins out, they could end up with 23 points. Other scenarios could occur but I think it's Middletown or WC as the winners. If this very competitive league...

Anonymous said...

You can't count out Vorhees, they can finish with 25 points. Crush will probably finish out of the top 5, but won the 8 V 8 state cup. Very good division with talented teams.

Anonymous said...

Has Voorhees and WC gone head to head yet? If not, that game will be a big factor for how the top 3 spots place out. Voorhees vs SDFC couldl be another key game.

Anonymous said...

What teams are staying small sided in the fall?

Anonymous said...

Not many. I mean you goat let the horses run so to speak. Goalies are punting to goalies, defenders are shooting on net from mid-field. 10-15 goal games... Its just not soccer as I am used to seeing it.

Anonymous said...

IMO 8v8 is a waste of time for U11. Field is way to small to allow girls to move the ball around. It becomes goalie kick ball. My daughter plays 11v11 and gets plenty of touches on the ball and 50/50 situations. She also has enough opportunity to pass the ball around. I think it's sad that some teams have to remain 8v8 in order to remain competitive.

Anonymous said...

Just by sheer math, you get more touches with 8 V 8 opposed to 11 V 11. America is going to start to follow the European model and steer towards staying short sided longer. You can love it or hate it, but it is the future.

Anonymous said...

8V8 is not about touches, it's about operating in tighter spaces and forcing quick decisions. You lose that when you put 10 year old girls on a big field. Amazing how awesome the kids look on that big field with all that space.

Anonymous said...

@ 8:18 "...the girls are as big as they can be and as skilled as they can beAt this transitions age.."

I hope that's not true for your daughter - it's definitely not true for mine. Most girls this age are in the early/middle stages of puberty and their bodies have much developing to do. Height, weight, chest, hips...this all will affect these players' game in the next few years. Some will benefit from their body types, some will be hindered by it. Skill, technique, and tactics will also continue to be developed and refined.

I see the pros and cons of each (8v8 and 11v11) at U11, but the plain and simple truth is; any team that can't make the transition to the big field by U12 is because they lack the number of skilled players to remain competitive. Is that reason for ridicule?

Anonymous said...

5:12 is 100% correct except the part about early to middle puberty. They are ALL in early puberty at most right now. At least 99.9999999999999% of them. The rest of your comment is spot on.

Anonymous said...

Real should have replaced nutley. Then the division would have been legit top to bottom.

Anonymous said...

Not top to bottom.

Anonymous said...

Who wouldn't have been legit?

Anonymous said...

you can start with Nj Wildcates…6 goals score and 17 allowed is terrible.

Anonymous said...

STA too, 14 goals for 24 against.

Anonymous said...

Do you think they may be struggling because they are playing really good teams. They aren't bad, just not as good as some of the other teams.

Anonymous said...

From what I've seen wildcats play good technical soccer. You could replace them with rush, copa or strikers but not anyone from 2nd division north. gfa is a kick and run team.

Anonymous said...

@6:47 The Wildcats do attempt to play good technical soccer. They are well-coached. I don't think any of the three teams you list would do any better or be any better for the division for different reasons.

Anonymous said...

LOL @ U11/U12 8v8. Might as well play the game on a Futsal court. Don't get me wrong, I think Futsal is good supplementary training but not where they should be playing at this age group. Not a reason to ridicule because teams can't get good players but on the other hand, don't claim being the best either.

Anonymous said...

Why can't someone be the best at 8 V 8 and then struggle to add players of the same caliber? Not every team is a soccer machine.

Anonymous said...

Who claimed to be the best?

Anonymous said...

Anyone know when Voorhees and World Class are scheduled to play?

Anonymous said...

9:04. The only thing funnier than watching 11 year olds playing on a small field is watching them kick the ball all over a field that is clearly too big for them. Kick and run, poor first touches and terrible technical is what I see. the rest of the world agrees with small sided at 11 but you know best. Lol

Anonymous said...

Funny thing here. 9v9 is what it is going to for future u11's. Even more crowded by the futsal logic. Haha

Anonymous said...

8v8 should be done by u 10. Once the goalies are punting to each other it's time to move on. That's why in baseball they move the fenses back. It's common sense.

Anonymous said...

Or you could teach possession and roll the ball out. BTW soccer and baseball are totally different sports. By your logics 10 year olds should play on the same size field as 18 year olds.

Anonymous said...

1:04 I've seen plenty of 11v11 games where teams knew how to play on the field. But you're right, if kids can't handle the space, they should stay at 8v8 until they can develop the skill. Maybe you can ask for an extension for 8v8 at U13/U14 if you need more time. I think those teams at 11v11 will be at an advantage when the kids from 8v8 come into play.

Anonymous said...

june 4 you my friend is the reason usa soccer is so far behind .If you know anything the longer you stay small sided the better. Please check the youth models in Europe most stay small sided till 13 good luck with your stupid comments and world domination at 10 years old also by 15 60 percent of all your great superstars wont even be playing. Thanks for a good laugh cheers.

Anonymous said...

10:43AM Your percentage rate is too low, the actual rate is 70-75%, but you need to take into consideration the geography of those giving up this wonderful sport we ALL seem so passionate about. Northeast and West Coast are the true soccer hot spots and have been for the past many years. Top D1 school are pulling players from these locations. The feeder programs are the main reason. NJ alone is full of top programs to get players where they want to be if they want to achieve their goals themselves not their parents goals. A truly great athlete will excel on any size field, and will start pulling away from the so called "average" player. Most not all 2nd string players or 2nd rotation players in the EDP 8v8 league can start in other states, easily! Be thankful you're in an area that has strong competition. Also, the 70-75% figure came from US Youth Soccer. Good luck to all players this weekend.

Anonymous said...

10:43 you can convince yourself all you want. If an 11 year old girl can handle the big field, what's the harm? Why does she have to be held back to a small sided field? But go ahead, be happy watching goalie kickball.

Anonymous said...

So an 11 year old should not be playing on the same size field as an 8 year old, but should play on the same size field as an 18 year old? That is your belief?

Anonymous said...

228 and 215 you just don't get it obviously good luck with your all stars

Anonymous said...

So you know better then the Europeans and the people running American soccer? You are a complete moron.

Anonymous said...

@8:52 - Best post in some time. I love the way you suggest someone is an moron and, at the same time, use 'then' incorrectly the way an elementary student might do from time to time. Fantastic!

Anonymous said...

2:28 you are an idiot. Enjoy your "soccer".

Anonymous said...

If you have a good coach who cares about the players over winning, you don't get goalie kickball because the goalies are told only to punt as a last resort. Also, fields are much bigger this year at U11 than they were in the past. This is nice medium. I do agree that at U11 the kids are 2 big to play on the same field as the U8s.

Anonymous said...

Everyone here focuses on some border states who play 8 v 8 at U11 or U12. But in California - the number one Division 1 producing state and the #1 national team member producing state - They play 11 v 11 at U11. Just another perspective...

Anonymous said...

PDA LYON is running roughshod over Monmouth county's best U12 girls teams this week...
Beat Freehold Arsenal Blue, Monmouth Coast FC Storm and NJ Wildcats Schwenk NPL in last seven days according to GotSoccer!

Anonymous said...

Those U12 teams are not good. Lyon kids themselves by playing bad U12 team. Try beating some good U11 teams first.

Anonymous said...

Any u 12 team Lyon plays and beats are not good. No one will admit they are a good team. And find a u 11 team in the area worth playing.

Anonymous said...

Well as far as Monmouth county goes - where I watch a lot of games - those are three of the four best teams at U12. The other is Match Fit NJX - PDA Lyon beat them too 4-1 in 8 v 8 U11. I think Match Fit is #10, Monmouth Coast #13 and Freehold is #15.

As for U11 - I'm pretty sure Middletown has had the best overall year besides Lyon. They won the NJY State Cup in the fall. They challenged themselves and played 11 v 11 state cup this year and knew Lyon would be there, the joined the best 8 v 8 league in New Jersey and finished 1st or 2nd there and beat the current 8 v8 star cup champ NJ Crush. …

All that said Lyon handled Middletown easy 3-0. SJ E Barons EAST is a top u11 team, 4-0. C'mon man.

Anonymous said...

Lyon is just at a different level. There's really no comparison at the same age level. There only going to get better too.

Anonymous said...

Love Lyon or hate them (there doesn't seem to be much middle ground on this blog), you have to give credit where credit is due. Lyon has proved to be the top U11 team in the state this season. Now they're taking care of business a year up....not too shabby in my book.

Anonymous said...

PDA Lyon in the U11 world is an urban legend as far as I'm concerned. They have not played any of the elite U11 teams this year. Playing U12 B-teams doesn't say much. I think many of the U11 elite teams could beat the U12 B- teams on any given day. Sorry!

Anonymous said...

"Lyon is just at a different level. There's really no comparison at the same age level. There only going to get better too."

This is true. Three new players added to the squad.

Anonymous said...

I bet they could on a given day, maybe...but they'd have to have the guts to do it, the roster to do it, the size to do it too the talents and then they'd have to go WIN all those games - every one! BTW, there has not been one u12 b-team on their schedule. All club's top teams. Come out tomorrow & see a tourney final for yourself vs the #1 U12 girls team from Connecticut. Girls are bigger than any Mom on our team.

Anonymous said...

The 3 new girls are on Lyon Blue.

Anonymous said...

Their may be new players on the Lyon Blue team but there are also new players on Lyon. Size and speed has been added. One of the players came from one of the very prominent teams discussed here a bunch.

Anonymous said...

If Lyon is so good why don't they play u-12 in the top tournaments and not some second rate tournament...top u-12 teams ok keep thinking that Lyon is a great team but the parents get a little ahead of themselves..other teams will catch up to them there kids r big and strong but everyone will get there soon

Anonymous said...

Lyon plays u-12 second division in edp...play in the first division against A teams then say u beat top u-12 teams...

Anonymous said...

What is the prominent team the new Lyons players are from?

Anonymous said...

It's not really important where the new Lyon girls are from. To start talking abou this would be close to singling out specific girls (as it's not going to be hard to figure it out) and that is inappropriate. Let's just keep to bashing eachothers teams.

Anonymous said...

My daughter does not play for Lyon. There is no doubt they are a top team at U-11 in NJ. To be able to play up a year in EDP and have success is impressive. Maybe next year they will move up to the U-12 top division in EDP. Regardless who they play or where, they are an excellent team. You can hate them all you want, but you can't deny they have a ton of talent. It will be interesting to see how the dynamic is when girls are moved down and new girls are added. That is all.

Anonymous said...

How many of the Lyons are 2003 girls?
They will be playing against some of the best current u12 girls within a year anyway.
Will be competing for spots against Pda current u12 teams.

Anonymous said...

Is Middletown prominent enough for you? How about Lyon Blue?

Anonymous said...

PDA Lyon claiming they beat the top u12 girls teams? SJEB West is the SJEB B team. Monmouth Coast? Freehold? Strongold? And the meeting against Summit now wearing a MF uniform was postponed. Thanks for the laugh Kool Aid boy.

Anonymous said...

The cumulative score of Lyon vs all 3 SJEB teams U11 & U12 is 13-0. Why would u mention that club? Think about that...13-0 in 3 games

Anonymous said...

Thanks to all of you people obsessed with PDA and what they do. You truly give me something to look forward to reading on a daily basis. I hope you put as much energy in to your own daughters club. Keep posting.

Anonymous said...

most of the top players from Lyons are are 2003 and will have no problem taking the leading spots when they change to calendar year.

Anonymous said...

Lyon ties U12 Connecticut's#1 1-1, then plays them again in final, ties the 1-1 after regulation & OT but fall is PK's. Literally, they were the attraction and talk of the whole tournament. Keep the hate coming!

Anonymous said...

Any other u11 teams play today?

Anonymous said...

811 has it right. I was there and heard it with my own two ears. No matter what field I wandered, all were abuzz with pda pda pda chatter. The legend grows!!!

Anonymous said...

Yes SDFC beat Vorhees.

Anonymous said...

I saw the Lyon highlights on Sports Center! Amazing.

Anonymous said...

I heard Lyon will play the German women next.

Anonymous said...

And I'm pretty sure all of the Germans are older than 12.

Anonymous said...

"Is Middletown prominent enough for you? How about Lyon Blue?"

The forward from town or the defender from out of town?

Anonymous said...

New Topic: Favorite fields to play on in NJ - could be 8v8 or 11v11.

Anonymous said...

NJ Crush north field.

Anonymous said...

"NJ Crush north field."

That's a funny one. Where's the grass?

Anonymous said...

Cross Farm in Holmdel is decent.

Anonymous said...

PDA Field 3. Let the bashing begin....

Anonymous said...

What tournament was played over weekend?
Who Is CT number one u12 team? I have never seen a decent team from their clubs at this age group.

Anonymous said...

Should be interesting end in edp with vorhees and WC playing against each other, could have impact on outcome for second place and or take WC out of running for first place. Looks like crush has dropped down this year and losing top players won't help them going forward. Nice win sdfc, are you losing any players to WC like others? WC will be dominant team at this age group in 2016 - when it becomes the 2004 team in ecnl.

Anonymous said...

A win by either WC or Vorhees will most likely give them the division. If they tie, the division goes to Middletown. Great season.

Anonymous said...

WCFC has the nicest complex, great food and nice bathrooms as well. Could use a few more fields, but love going there and watching games. You also don't need to wash your car and can wash your hands too.

9:31 Conn club question...

These guys. #1 by three times the points of #2,3 etc. only great team in Conn at U12.

https://home.gotsoccer.com/rankings/team.aspx?TeamID=701757&History=yes&compact=

Anonymous said...

Good news is that you will be playing with these kids next year anyway when they make the age change, get used to it and their are much better players than you are seeing in your b flights. Have you ever played you own u12 teams?

Anonymous said...

This tournament was a town team tournament, stallions and wildcats would get beat 7 to 0 by the good u12 teams in the state. They play in the north division and bottom of it, it's the weakest division by far and you can see by the points being awarded. Look at your GS ranking, why would you believe others? When you can't even win you own tournament at your age group, this should tell you something. And most all of the good teams still play 8v8.

Anonymous said...

You mean next year as in the fall of 2015? That's when the age change is going to be?

Anonymous said...

No, I think they mean fall of 2016

Anonymous said...

@ 1:07 is still waiting for the Lyon callback!

Anonymous said...

You wish, then you might be able to win your tournament. Funny thing is that we thought about it, until reading this blog. Always liked pda, but have a real bad taste recently and its to bad, because i think it's one of the best clubs in the country. I wouldn't want anything to do with this age group because of what I read here.

Anonymous said...

PDA's problem is their parents. Great teams, good coaching...shitbag parents. Not all of them, but enough of them.

Anonymous said...

Only an idiot would make a decision about where your child will attend school or where they play a sport based on what they read in an anonymous blog.

Anonymous said...

What parents do you know? I am a parent of a different age group girl and actually U11 has the least drama of all the age groups above it. We have spent time with their parents and their are no issues and I would say I am an insider in that respect and my best guess is most of these super negative posts are by outsiders trying to get people to their way of thinking and putting a negative light on a club that teaches, leads and guides a lot of very successful young women. two of who will be representing our country in the World Cup tonight!

Anonymous said...

"Is Middletown prominent enough for you? How about Lyon Blue?"

Another new player comes from a current U12 team that was undefeated in league play this season...Only talented kids with tons of potential get added to any PDA team.

Anonymous said...

With all the people who claim their daughter is on PDA Lyon, they must have a roster of about 50 kids

Anonymous said...

The only u12 teams I can find that are undefeated in u12 is your own team called Galaxy and a team called FC Maximus. They look like a very strong team from the north, but playing 8v8 and no one else is. I would think they would be looking at WCFC as they are affiliated on website and a very strong team at u11. It's important to add now, WCFC is a solid team and they are making major adjustments. So my assumption is that you have your own players moving down and that usually means they probably couldn't compete and are age appropriate, but not grade.

Anonymous said...

Did anyone see the Nike commercial with the PDA players in it? Just another reason to hate on them.

Anonymous said...

No, would love to see a link. Thanks, I don't care what club, just like seeing girls from nj

Anonymous said...

@3:34 WCFC is a strong team. Have they ever played Lyon through EDP or tournaments?
Also, did they pick up players? If so from where?

Anonymous said...

This 8v8 EDP top flight is down to wire. Looks like a few teams can still win.
Very competitive division

Anonymous said...

Not a PDA parent but some of you need professional help. A grown up hating on a kids soccer club, wow.

BTW to 4:09, reading this blog I interpreted one post to infer that kids from the NJ Crush have moved to WC, which makes sense with how close they are.

Anonymous said...

Check out U.S. soccer facebook. The commercial is on there.

Anonymous said...

How is PDA shown in a Nike Women's Soccer commercial a reason to hate? It's cool that a club in NJ is part of it.

Anonymous said...

I was being sarcastic. Everyone hates on them any other time. Figured someone would cry their kids team wasn't in it but PDA was duhhhhhhh! Of course it's great a NJ girls team is in a Nike commercial.

Anonymous said...

Blah blah blah. If you think you have a great team and sick of hearing that another team is better, challenge them to a scrimmage. They can say no and you can come back here to gloat. Beat them, come back here to gloat. Otherwise STFU. Let these kids play soccer and settle it on the field.

Anonymous said...

SDFC keeping the team intact going into large sided play in the fall.

Anonymous said...

"Is Middletown prominent enough for you? How about Lyon Blue?"

New lyon player is the town forward who just put a bunch of goals on SDFC last week. I am not associated with lyon in any way. It was mentioned by their coach to the sdfc coach.

SDFC has added some talent and could be at or near the top of EDP next season...

That is completely false. Better check your facts.

Anonymous said...

I don't think Lyon has to add any new players in order put SDFC away. Hope SDFC agrees to a scrimmage or plays up in U13 EDP next year so we can see them play.

It's not like everyone on their team doesn't know this. This was known a month ago. There are other kids from town already at PDA at this age an older. It is a known thing.

Warren Buffet acquires new company, The Patriots get to the super bowl, PDA attracts great players - even this one. We are happy for her.

So what tournaments are teams playing in this summer? Are teams taking time off?

Anonymous said...

^ ^ ^
^ ^ ^
I believe this is a reference to The Rocky Horror Show for those folks playing at home.

It's understandable (to a certain degree) how gossip about player movement between girls U11 soccer teams could be so titillating, but some of the above seems on the verge of cyberbullying. Worry about you're own daughter/team and stop embarrassing yourselves.

Anonymous said...

How many girls are on Lyon and Lyon blue?

Anonymous said...

About 18 or 19 each. No updated rosters out there yet that I can see on ECNL site or gotsoccer

Anonymous said...

PDA will always carry at least 18 girls on each team. No need to leave money on the table.

Anonymous said...

I love how money is always brought up. All clubs are within 500-1000 of each other. For the cost you get much more from ecnl clubs.

Anonymous said...

Soccer has become a business. Do you think think PDA cares more about their players or making money? Everything they do is based on profit, don't fool yourself.

Anonymous said...

Not all clubs are within 500 -1000 of each other. And even if they were, that statement just illustrates the problem with youth sports.

It indicates that the poster sees $500 or $1000 per child per year as an insignificant sum that could not possibly affect a family's decision..

Anonymous said...

Sounds like you may have a 2002 child? The prior advantage reverses for some.
My daughter is currently playing u13 and is 2002, so I'm okay with this. I do agree it will be difficult transition next year.
Who knows, we may be on the same sideline next year.

Anonymous said...

Wrong blog, I think you should be on u12 if I can read between the lines.

Our girls are playing Spirit United for sure this summer. Great tourney, strong teams always come, I consider it a small Jeff Cup locally. Locally, within 100 miles at least! Really excited about this fall, really strong EDP U12 11v11 Premier Div. I assume most of the Premier teams that run 8v8 right now are going this route. Excited to play PDA Lyon, LMSC, Voorhees, Crush, WC, SDFC, etc. Whats up with Voorhees, are they an academy now?

CRUSH may have to play second division, losing top 4 players and not doing well as is.
WCFC and PDA will dominate, but they may be in different divisions. North and central like current u12 edp.

Why do you think WC will dominate? They might not even win their division this year. They will be solid, but dominate may a bit much.

Anonymous said...

I'm sure WCFC could beat south shore every time

Anonymous said...

WCFC who?

Anonymous said...

How is the barons east team are they any good

Anonymous said...

SJEB East is pretty good. Top 8 team in this age bracket IMO.

Anonymous said...

Who is your top 7?

Anonymous said...

PDA Lyon,Vorhees,SDFC,WC,Middletown,Lower Merion,Crush. SJEB East can be better than some of these teams on any given day. I just picked 8, could have been 6 or 7. Not bashing SJEB East at all. Quality team.

Anonymous said...

sjeb east lmfao pda north should and could have won by 11 we played keep away for whole second half enough already.

Anonymous said...

Here we go with the bashing of good teams. I love that the biggest academy in NJ is bragging about having the best team, you should have the best team.

Anonymous said...

Not a bad top 8....I'll go with it. I also agree that SJEB east is a strong team.

Thanks PDA dad, we all know Lyon is good. Way to show some humility!

Anonymous said...

11-0 get a grip Lyon dad...there was no keep away played... Lyon got 2 goals that should not have been...Lyon was the better team....I don't think wcfc would beat Lyon they are a strong team...but they should be with the amount of girls in that area....the south will never compete with the north unless teams merge the best talent...sjeb east,Voorhees,Medford,,would be smart to make one team...

Anonymous said...

3:22 what does that mean? Please elaborate.

Anonymous said...

When did Lyons play them?

If the score was 6 or 7 to 0, then I can see keep away.

Anonymous said...

State Cup Final, I think it was 4-0.

Anonymous said...

It would be smart for a team like Voorhees to merge. They are a very diverse team. They have a handful of players that are elite to say the least. I'm sure they are approached about leaving and heading to a club team a lot. My daughter played them a few weeks ago. They have two wings that are super fast that they primarily feed too. Defense is strong too, could contribute to their low GA this year. Plus, their keeper is full-time I believe, never seen anyone else play that position for them.

1:12PM, I give Vorhees one more season till they either merge or break-up. Their team is good, but they will get there butt handed to them by PDA when they go 11v11.

It is not so much fun to consolidate talent on one team to the point where there is not one left to compete with. Not every good player wants to travel and far and wide and incur that crazy expense. Can't we please keep some good teams good and not great so we can have some quality localized leagues? Just say no to insane youth sports travel.

Anonymous said...

So what u r saying is that u want a bunch of ok teams....that makes no sense for your kid to get better she has to train with players that are as good or better to get better...I would rather have a strong team and go play better teams then play the same mid level teams....how do u think you could ever compete against Lyon wcfc and other teams if u don't get better...just saying...you might not want to make one team cause ur daughter might not make it but that is the point of travel soccer best players play

Anonymous said...

If you dissolve all the good teams in an attempt to build a great team, who the hell are you going to play?

Anonymous said...

The reality is that as the kids get older, PDA and MFA dominate NJ soccer. At some ages they have the top 4 teams in the state. At U13 right now, they have 7 of the top 10 teams.

Anonymous said...

A bunch of OK teams make total sense. A talented soccer crazy kid wants to play with other good players. IMO this is essentially a kid's game. It is worthy of pursuing at an appropriate level of time, energy, and $$$$. Beyond that the returns relative to the time, energy and $$$$, cost diminish considerably. She can play at an very competitive level.

Are there lots of families our there with soccer crazy kids that want to have a great time with this sport without traveling all over creation for a game?

Anonymous said...

I will travel as far as my kid is good. That's our choice and I totally get deciding that's not for some other family. Bottom line is that if your kid is on an ECNL or NPL team they are going to travel. Most of these girls at U11 are already doing a fair amount of travel.

Anonymous said...

Fine. But the converse is not true..."the kid is as good as the distance she travels." The kid is as good as she is good. How far she travels is up to her parents.

Voorhees beat NJ Crush yesterday. EDP league comes down to WC v. Voorhees. Anyone know when this game will be played and where? Looking on Got soccer, looks like this team only has played once and WC beat Voorhees 2-1.

Anonymous said...

I do think the "We have to travel because my daughter is so good" mentality is not for every family. You need excess time and money. There are good players and teams all over. I think these girls are too young for a lot of travel and the pressures that come with it,

What teams will take a step back and what teams will improve for the fall? I think Voorhees, Middletown, Marlboro, Nj rush, Nj Crush all get worse come fall

Anonymous said...

Nj rush was never good.

Anonymous said...

Yeah. I wouldn't put Rush with the others.

Anonymous said...

Marlboro is not very good either

Anonymous said...

Heard Hamilton/Rush may have lost some pretty good players is that true? Good team, handful of very talented kids. Not a ton of depth.

Anonymous said...

Would not classify Marlboro in that group. Good travel team but not in same league as the other teams mentioned.

Anonymous said...

6:57 that's true about Rush losing players

Anonymous said...

Going to MFA I assume?

Anonymous said...

Marlboro had a great 80 minutes vs Lyon in the state cup quarters...

Anonymous said...

Isn't MFA too far north from Rush's vicinity?

Speaking MFA, I'm a little surprised that they lack a competitive team at this age - not too familiar with other ages. They're in an area with no shortage of soccer talent and parents willing & able to pay the cost of admission. Could it be that consumers are not pleased with MF's quality of product/service?

Anonymous said...

MFA formed a team at U12 that will be based at Mercer County Community College.

Anonymous said...

Did Marlboro beat Lyon? Wow! Guess they are a contender for sure.

Anonymous said...

@8:33

Rumor has it that there will be a pay per view event for the match to determine the u11 EDP 8v8 1st division title.

Rumor also says will be promoted by Mayweather Promotionz.

*sarcasm* :p

NEWS ALERT: FOX SPORTS has purchased the rights for this match and has decided to televise this game rather then USA v. Nigeria.... Local commercial feeds will be the new Nike ads that state if you don't play for PDA you cannot play in college..... Also a commercial for all the soccer parents who need psychiatric help because your certain your 11 year old daughter is a step away from playing in the World Cup! EDP pick for the final 3-0 Voorhees... Shout out for a town team!!
