U13 Girls Youth Soccer

This is a time when players develop a true love for the game and the focus is a little more intense, on the field and on the sidelines...

I love how a 12 year old talked a ref out of a call.

Anonymous said...

I am having a hard time believing that a player talked a ref out of a call, let alone a goal. There were spectators at the game plus 2 linesmen and a center ref. The ball either went in the net or it didn't. It must not have gone in.
I am not from PDA, but we have played many PDA teams over the years. I don't understand their bad reputation. Great teams, very well trained, and parents have been just like all the other soccer parents we've come across. They cheer for their girls as they should. Nothing more. Can we stop the PDA hate already?

Anonymous said...

don't understand how sdfc is #1 in nj and lyon is #2?

Anonymous said...

Sdfc has played more tournaments so they have more points. Rankings are just that. They don't say who is best, just who has the most points. I don't think anyone would argue that PDA is better than sdfc, and I doubt anyone on PDA is worrying about being ranked 2nd instead of first. And like another poster said previously, it is all changing next year anyway. Let's worry more about soccer and much less about rankings

Anonymous said...

I think maybe that is what hapened. Ball went in the goal, goalie had discussion with ref and it was called a non-goal. Not a PDA, Aztec or even a parent from NJ - was just casually watching the game for a short time. Never seen anything like it and I have seen some bad calls in my time

Anonymous said...

At this point who cares. The final was 3-0. Hopefully the two will play again in a few weeks. Let's just see what happens.

Anonymous said...

Last time for the dense…The ball went over the post and hit the top of the net that runs parallel to the crossbar. However much it appeared to go in to Dad that just stopped by- the ball stayed on the roof of the net and never came down. Referee inspected and saw ball on the outside of net - no goal.

Anonymous said...

Ball was on the ceiling above the goal - never came down - adult referee inspected and said no goal. Goalie had nothing to do with it - no complaint from Aztec Coach - you guys here are despicable.

Anonymous said...

Based on these comments alone, it sounds like PDA Lyon goalie is awesome and her defense must be outstanding. Period. And NO, I'm not a PDA parent. And no, I rarely read most of the nonsense written here. SNL should take some of this comment thread and make a 10 part series. I will check in again in a couple of months to see how I've been verbally attacked for posting this. Maybe someone will even attack my daughter who they have never met. #pathetic #cya

Anonymous said...

I'm sure the goalie is great, I mean no goals all weekend? Vs teams that are that competitive? I''d be happy with 1 shutout on a weekend like that.

Speaking of goalies and PDA, one supposed roster oddity is that apparently(2nd hand info) there are no 2004 goalies at all - at PDA North.

2004 Goalie spots will be up for grabs at several NJ academies and top teams as everyone tries to moves up a spot or two to Pre-ECNL Lyon or NPL Zizzou if this is true.

Who does goalie training at PDA? Separate days? Before or after practice etc? Does a goalie have to go three days a week?

Anonymous said...

Why is the moderator permitting discussion of specific children. Should not be allowed whether it is the parent bragging or not. It is an invitation for the abuse that comes every single time.

Anonymous said...

No 2004 goalies at PDA on Lyon or Zizzou but what about U11 teams A or the B?

we're looking for a good place for our daughter (04)- penn fusion or continental?
Coming from a closer knit team- culture is important to us, but we obviously want her to develop the best she can.
If we're faced with choosing I have no clue which way to go .

Anonymous said...

12:22 - Continental if you want to homestead. You are more likely to be replaced at PF as the years go on.

Anonymous said...

@12:22
Other than teamwork, coaching, nurturing their love for the game, passion, and a sense of family, PF would be the best choice.

Anonymous said...

PF is very cut throat . Every player for themselves type of atmosphere . Everyone is replaceable .

Anonymous said...

I would certainly expect that if I paid the big big bucks for a program like that. Among other things, you are paying be on a team where the best players are chosen for the program and others are cut.

Anonymous said...

If you're daughter likes that kind of cut throat ,backstabbing ,environment then that's the place to go .

Anonymous said...

I just said that what these high level parents are paying for among other things.

Whether mine wants or does not want that environment is irrelevant. (unless she does a LOT more baby sitting and dog walking to help finance it LOL)

Anonymous said...

What non ECNL club should an 03 quality player be looking into in Southeast PA? FCUSA is trying to put together a showcase team, does anyone have an opinion of them?

Anonymous said...

Assuming your player is qualified to play where she wants, that is difficult advice to get from an anonymous chat board. Where are you located, how far do you want to travel, what is your soccer budget for training and fees, what coaching style suits your player, is an uber competitive sports atmosphere enjoyable or destructive for her, what is your time and money budget for tournaments? , For most players, answering those questions will eliminate a lot of clubs and visit and pick the best fit from those left on the list.

Anonymous said...

09:40 - Thanks for the reference to FCUSA. It made me look up FCUSA. I'm not sure if your post was a planted plug for FCUSA, or a legit question. Regardless, I learned something. Looks like LMSC might have a competitor.

Anonymous said...

Any relationship between FCUSA and Haverford Elite? Both are managed by UKElite.

Anonymous said...

Steve Wilman was a recent DOC at FCUSA, before moving on to DOC at FC Providence in 2015-16, I believe. I've known him from UK Elite training session at Nether/1776. Good guy, good coach, good trainer. FCUSA should be a decent place to play.

As I'm from that area, I also know Barnesy who coaches the Haverford Elite team. While I don't think the 02-03 team is affiliated with UK Elite, Barnesy and Ben Davey are UK Elite coaches and have a wealth of experience to draw from.

From what I hear, Lower Merion Fenix (03/04) are imploding. The Thunderbolts (02/03) are ok. Not sure what they're going to have for an 04, 03, or 02 team and who is coaching.

Probably not much difference between Haverford Elite and FCUSA, so whichever is closer would be your best bet. Or go to tryouts for both and try to get a gauge on what both clubs offer. If you can find more minutes on one club versus another, that would be my preferred choice. Don't chase wins over minutes. They have to play to develop.

Anonymous said...

Word on the street is Fenix are moving the team to FCUSA. If that is the case that will likely be a strong 03 Girls team.

Anonymous said...

Didn't the 1 Fenix player already leave and go to PDA ?

Anonymous said...

Multiple Fenix girls are already gone. One to PF too
FC Philly has tried to start a team w the fenix girls

Anonymous said...

In NJ FCUSA is a 3rd tier club at best.

Anonymous said...

The good one s have already left that team.

Any team going forward will be made up of the leftovers. Their craziness caused all the good ones to leave sooner than they might have.

No doubt the posts were those very same individuals trying to hype their scheme pretending to inquire. Past u12 teams stratify. Can't believe they they think they will rope in a bunch of top players to replace them and ride on their coat tails.

Anonymous said...

Voorhees Xtreme splitting up. Team is moving to Rush. Some girls not happy and leaving. What a shame. They were a great team and now they are unraveling.

Anonymous said...

which is it? The team is splitting up or the team is moving to rush?
Or some players going to rush and others elsewhere?

Anonymous said...

Some moving to Rush, others not happy about it are going elsewhere. They think changing to Academy will make them more prominent. Not a chance! They have a ring leader parent that is destroying their team. He thinks his daughter is the next Carli Lloyd. Give me a break! Not surprised by the implosion. They are not at all what they used to be!

Anonymous said...

@ 12:05 why so hostile on Easter Sunday?

Anonymous said...

I can see 03's wanting to go to rush.. 3 u13 teams. Most likey half of those teams are 03's. 03's will remain competitive with such large player pool.
Bad news for Voorhees's 04's - Rush's u11 and u12 teams not very strong.

Oh well! Kids are resilient! When one door closes another door opens.

Anonymous said...

@12:05 - you are so right. Agree with you 100%

Anonymous said...

This is why it is good to play at Pda. No parent drama. The club doesn't deal with idiot parents. You want to start problems you're gone. The team never splits up and looks to combine with another team. As long as you daughter can play at a high level there is no bs and no reason to leave. It's funny how all these town teams who claim to be the best around all split up at some point. It's just a matter of time.

Anonymous said...

Always one rotten banana in the bunch! Shame on that parent! I hope the other parents wake up and don't listen to that clown!

Anonymous said...

@12:05 I think I know the parent you are talking about. I think if his daughter goes to the Rush, it will be the fourth team that she will be on and she is only twelve. I think they change teams more times than they change their underwear! This is what you call a CLUB HOPPER!

Anonymous said...

OMG! What a surprise - NOT! I knew that team was going down the drain!

Anonymous said...

HOPPY Easter!!!!

Anonymous said...

What is the Voorhees trainer doing..is he going to rush with the group of girls that is going over..

Anonymous said...

Who cares?

Anonymous said...

@9:27 eventually they will run out of teams to play on..what a disgrace..

Anonymous said...

I feel sorry for the rush.

Anonymous said...

The Voorhees trainer is very good .

Anonymous said...

Let's ask the voorhees trainer how he feels about the rotten egg parent on the sidelines?????

Anonymous said...

Voorhees trainer isn't that good.. Any real trainer would take control of the team..he let the parents run the team so he could keep getting a pay check no respect for that guy at all.

Anonymous said...

No trainer should let the parents run the team..the rush trainer should run for cover..it will never change

Anonymous said...

I got an idea. Maybe the parent should coach and train the team.

Anonymous said...

@9:27 I know who you are talking about also. Shame they find a problem everywhere they go. The Xtreme was top notch team until they got there. Their ship has sunk and they are getting desperate. Don't forget to paddle.

Anonymous said...

REALITY CHECK for that parent. Dude your daughter gets shown up by the 2005 players on her team.

Anonymous said...

I smell a rat! I'm sure it was that parent's idea to talk some of the other parents into moving over to the rush. I hope the rush has mouse traps.

Anonymous said...

How many voorhees parents are you talking about? Doubt one person can do so much. Sounds like someone stirring up trouble.

Anonymous said...

They are the laughing stock of south jersey!

Anonymous said...

You are Trouble with a capital T!

Anonymous said...

If you are all talking about who I think you are talking about - you are right! Even the mother was like our team mom and was always kissing up to the coaches and at the same time her daughter was trying out elsewhere. No couth!

Anonymous said...

when are they breaking up?

Anonymous said...

All town teams have been negatively impacted by the age appropriate rules that have been rolled out by US Soccer. Whether it is a Voorhees, Cherry Hill or any other town team these teams can't compete by playing up and keeping the team together. The end result is better players leaving and going to a academy level team like PDA, Penn Fusion maybe even Rush or the Baron's.

Anonymous said...

so much information. Voorhees team will be fine. 80% of team is 2004. Rush has already arranged for a new coach to take the 2004 team next year.

Anonymous said...

80% is not gonna be good enough. A new coach, that's a laugh. It's someone that is already coaching for DADDY and MOMMY Dearest's son and has been training the daughter. You think that he would be an honest trainer and tell them their daughter is just average. You're not fooling anyone. BOOM!

Anonymous said...

I don't understand the negative comments about the Voorhees team. If the parents are trying to put their daughters in a better environment to develop technically and compete why are folks against that. Some of the comments sound like folks have an axe to grind.

Anonymous said...

I don't think people are faulting the team, the girls are only 12. A better environment? Half of the negative comments about the Voorhees team on this blog are coming from their own parents. Start reading from the beginning! Don't think that changing environments is gonna help this group of parents. What is will always be!

Anonymous said...

College coaches know that when selecting a player you are also selecting the parents / family. Parents can lose opportunities for their children. High level youth sports are similar and a good program / coach will select accordingly.

Anonymous said...

Hahaha 80% that doesn't mean all the 04 r following u moses to the promise land of rush haha

Anonymous said...

These parents and many others are just dollar signs prancing around the heads of these clubs.
Sounds like vorhees parents on here should be chatting with each other directly instead of through some anonymous blog that is probably run by one of their own parents.
real madrid going to sjeb. teams going to rush. players going to pda. pf and continental infighting. pda north laughing at everyone.
the smartest people are the people with kids just having fun playing soccer somewhere with no knowledge of blogs and ecnl.

Anonymous said...

@1:48 college coaches, ha-ha. We are talking about 12 year old girls. Also, college coaches don't deal with families at all - they deal strictly with the player. If you're a college coach and you are on a U12 soccer blog, you can't be a good one.

If it is Voorhees parents (current or previous)making negative comments about another parent or child on the team that's a sad state of affairs. Voorhees has a paid coach. Why isn't he making the decisions? I think the changes in the landscape make it very difficult for a town team to succeed, which is sad. If a child wants to play at a high level, the only options seem to be the Penn Fusion, SJEB, PDA and Rush. I've been on this blog twice hoping to see a healthy conversation about changes in the soccer arena. Other age brackets have useful information. Why does this age just knock teams and players?

Anonymous said...

many of the elite youth coaches are college coaches, asshat.
you must really think you are cool making your dumb assumptions.

Good move for south jersey players!

Anonymous said...

I have been reading through these posts, and some people are saying that the academy teams will be okay and that the club teams are screwed. I think I may have to disagree. My daughter plays on an academy team and I have been hearing rumors of a couple of academy players on different academy teams jumping ship. Some academy teams did very poorly this past season. My daughter is an 04 and has asked me about taking her to try out at TBAA Sonics. They are located not too far from PDA in Westampton and closer than SJEB barons. I have had the opportunity to see that team play a few times, and they are quite impressive. The team is very talented. I think they may be the dark horse! I have been asking about their team, and was told that they are mainly 04's and have a few 05's, but their 05's are beasts and are extremely skilled. I hear they are looking for a keeper and to add a few players. I researched their trainer/coach and he is the women's soccer coach at Rider University. I'm not plugging for their team (although my daughter will be attending their tryouts), just saying that the academy teams will also feel the effects!

@3:08, are you implying another town team is going to Rush just like the rumors flying about Voorhees Xtreme?

Anonymous said...

Sonic is mediocre They are moving to Rush which is an academy you dingbat.

Anonymous said...

I see. Some of Voorhees 04's are going to Rush to play with the Sonics under the Rider coach. Sonics get the club hopping player/parents. Exteme gets the Extremly skilled 05 beasts. Except someone from sonics wasn't clued in on the plan and advertises for their team here.

It's a great day in south jersey soccer!

Anonymous said...

@3:08 trying to talk like you in da hood isn't fooling anybody that you're those "parents" from Voorhees. They should have never let you on the team. Like we all don't know that the last 5 posts are from you! You got played! Now you are trying to pick on a different team thinking that people are going to start ripping on them instead of you being the joke of all south jersey soccer. I sure hope that the Sonic players do move over to the rush because they can run rings around your daughter. Oh that's right, your daughter will still make the team because the trainer/coach is a personal friend. Or so you think? Don't think that the Voorhees parents are that naive and don't know that your daughter trained with the Sonic during the winter. So much information? Someone in your circle of trust is such a talker. Nice though. Baa-ha-ha.

Anonymous said...

I know. Maybe your daughter could take up piano or art. Maybe she is more skilled with her hands, since she most certainly isn't skilled with her feet!

Anonymous said...

interesting. did you think your plan all the way through moses? how are the Voorhees parents going to feel when they practice and scrimmage with the sonic. those girls can probably school your girls. after all, the rider coach that you have been bragging about has been training and coaching them for about 2 years now.

Anonymous said...

@3:08 Now I see why people have written all these posts about you! You stole a post that I wrote on another blog and put it on here like another parent did it. Duh - people on these blogs go on more than one page. You are an idiot. Obviously, someone should tell the sonic to stay away from you.

Anonymous said...

All town teams that have competitive teams will have to eventually move. They are not attracting many players anymore and now the byc is going to kill them. Good for the rush.

Anonymous said...

NO WAY posts made about TBAA were from their coach or parents. Their team name is not the sonics. If you are gonna try to make up stories and comments about them, please do your research first and get there name right!

Anonymous said...

2:51 I see you're posting your same spiel on the u11 blog as well .

Anonymous said...

How many teams does PDA have at u12 ?

Anonymous said...

PDA's website would have that info

Anonymous said...

PDA has 4 teams at U12 according to their site and supposedly no 2004 goalies at according to this blog...

Anonymous said...

It is really sad and disturbing that if someone comes to this blog to look for real information about South Jersey soccer all they find is negative and disparaging comments about 11 & 12 years kids. It also appears that some of the comments have racial overtones. What does that say about the South Jersey soccer community?

Anonymous said...

There are crappy people everywhere!

What does it say about you who makes a blanket statement characterizing the whole South Jersey Soccer community based off of what you read on this blog?

Anonymous said...

@7:56 Maybe not the u12 version but YES WAY! the u11 version of the post is from the teams coach.

Anonymous said...

@ 7:54 Dude, just like on the u11 blog NO ONE CARES! Stop posting your stupid crap. Didn't your mama tell you, if you don't have anything nice to say than don't say anything at all.

Anonymous said...

@7:54 get a life and stop living through your daughter!

Anonymous said...

Why are specific players and their families from the Voorhees team mentioned on this blog? It's one thing for an adult to read this, but it's another if a child reads this. How do you think they would feel? Or maybe you don't care. Is it your place to say a player is mediocre or to call out their parents? I find it funny to see religious references (example - Moses), but the text associated with it, is not very Christian like or even decent human being like. If a player is mediocre, that should be addressed by the coach. And if it's not being addressed by the coach, why is the child blasted? Why is the family blasted? The coach is paid, correct? If people have an ax to grind, you should go to the person not post on a blog. It's just stirring the pot. Why stir the pot? Worry about your child and your family. At 3/28 @2:45pm, if it is a Voorhees parent making these comments it's a shame that this family doesn't even know that someone is smiling in their face and at the same time stabbing them in the back.

Anonymous said...

I find it funny that I planted a seed and watched how fast the thorns grew. I know it is going to be like walking on eggshells at practice now, not knowing which parent is talking behind your back. I wonder if the Rider coach knows that you ruined his plan, or even better, your friend that is the coach of the other team that you just threw under the bus. I'm sure he won't be happy when he finds out all of the "Daddy Coach" posts that you made about him. I am guessing that he and the team's parents will not be too happy with things that you said, especially when they were kind enough to let your daughter train with them. There goes your plan b. You won't even be able to lower yourself down a peg to join their team when you wake up and find out some of the 04s are not going with you. After all, they are just mediocre - isn't that what you said about the sonics?😬

Anonymous said...

Their team name is not the sonics. It is Sonic. If you are gonna try to make up stories and comments about them, please do your research first and get there name right!

Anonymous said...

Why are the Voorhees parents going back and forth on this blog did things end that bad over there ur spring season hasn't even started yet let the girls enjoy the last spring season together before everyone goes there way the girls have been together for years. Ok parents have a bad taste in there mouth let it go and grow up move on. Can't change the past so move forward.

Anonymous said...

Does anyone know the future plans of the Voorhees trainer ?

Anonymous said...

@5:35. Are you unfamiliar with the Internet? Look him up and ask. Probably a more useful way to obtain accurate info than an anonymous blog posting. Might want to share that tidbit with your daughter. Might help her with her studies.

Anonymous said...

thanks but my daughter doesn't need help with her studies . She's in advanced classes with an IQ over 145 . Maybe you should focus on your own daughter. With an ass like you for a Dad she's gonna need all the help she can get . Good luck to her !

Before you criticize someone else's spelling, please learn the difference "there" and "their". The person you called out probably just hit a wrong key by accident, you on the other hand, have an obvious intelligence issue.

Anonymous said...

Difference "between"

Anonymous said...

Do you have to tell your coach if you are going to a try out at another club? Our club has said we must tell them if we are going to other try outs. They said it is a small community and they will find out from the coaches at other clubs when they "hang out" together. Can you share thoughts, opinions, experiences on this topic?

Anonymous said...

I can see a coach asking for a courtesy heads up if players may possibly be leaving, The club doesn't own your daughter. There are too many variables to consider to predict the 'consequences' of them finding out you went to another tryout. That may be a good question to ask them. What would happen if I my daughter attends another team tryouts. if the coach is angry or vindictive about your daughter trying out elsewhere, is that really the type of coach or club you want?

The more upfront and transparent you are with the coach the less likely you are to burn a bridge. if it was my daughter, I would discuss my concerns and reason for considering the move with the coach.

Anonymous said...

Agree with 10:08. At this young age, playing time and development are all you should be focusing on. If a coach is trying to intimidate you, then that tells you everything you need to know. While you don't want to be a nomad traveling from club to club, you have to be willing to do what is best for your daughter.

Remember, you are the consumer. You are paying them.
Be honest. Ask questions.

Anonymous said...

I do not believe that you need to tell the coach. Depends on your relationship and if you are really leaving. They will almost certainly find out. BTW, tryouts are not the best route, and many teams are pretty much set by tryouts with just a few slots at most left. Very hard to sort through the chaos in tryouts. Go to a training, much better route to a team.

Anonymous said...

You don't need to tell the coach but it is obviously disruptive to the entire team to lose players. 99 percent of the time good, mature communication will be helpful to everyone involved.

Anonymous said...

11:11 what sort of competitive team is already set prior to tryouts?

Anonymous said...

I would assume coaches have a good idea of which players are staying and possibly new additions. There is a good chance at least 70% of the roster is probably already decided. Maybe some don't give it much thought prior to tryouts if their club has multiple teams in age group. Don't you think it would be poor planning to not know before tryouts. I pity the players whose team folds after tryouts. Poor planning or maybe coach was blindsided. Who ever is to blame, there is always a few players who get left out of the loop searching for a team after tryouts.

The past couple days of post is a good example. Two SJ town teams hoping to have their roster set before tryouts. (If you believe any of the past couple days of posts Yikes!)

Anonymous said...

Only a fool believes what is posted on an anonymous blog. Last couple of days is perfect example. Lots of hostility, very little substance. Fully agree that this years tryouts will see kids getting multiple looks. All the more reason why rosters can't be set.

Anonymous said...

At the top clubs, say you have a team of 16 kids and you want 16-18 for next year. You have say 8 coming back as 2004s, and you like 6 of them. Those 6 already have offers. You have another 6 from the U11 team that you have to keep because the club is not burning the younger players who will leave if they aren't on the A team. So now you have 12 filled spots and can bring in 4-6 more. We'll you have had 10 kids at practice in the 3 weeks before tryouts and you have offered 4 and they have strongly indicated they are in. so now you have 16 kids in, and two spots left if you should find someone that shows up at tryouts that blows you away. chances are you hold those spots for some kids at PDA are other clubs that are real players and may want to move. That's how this plays out this year in most places where the teams are good and content.

Anonymous said...

@6:06. There is a little bit of truth in all those posts.

@6:26. yup! Just like that.

Anonymous said...

6:26 is spot on!

Anonymous said...

You are not getting into the DA. STOP already.

Anonymous said...

The GDA won't be decided till after tryouts and offers have been made. Parents can try to move their daughter to a GDA after announcement if team has roster spots available. Why so much jockeying for something that is suppose to be fun.

Anonymous said...

Maybe their club will. Surely somebodies kid one these blogs will have a daughter make a gda team.

Anonymous said...

That GDA is going to load up They will rake it in even faster than the ECNL.

Anonymous said...

Tryouts coming up!! Who's going where?

60-80 at MFA 2003 and 50-70 at MFA 2004. This include current players...
Probably 70-90 at PDA 2003 and close to that for 2004.

2003 goalies should be at MFA since they have nobody great.
& All 2004 goalies should try-out at PDA since they have none and will probably need 3 or 4...

Hey millersville, go back to your trailer and leave the bragging at the door. You're s SJ wannabe team who packs the box and prays for a lucky bounce. Come back if you actually win something.

Anonymous said...

That's Mr Millbilly to you. Good day sir..........

The SJEB 03 West is looking for a scrimmage on either 4/16 or 4/17.

If interested, please email barons03west@gmail.com

Thanks

What does PDA 222 and lucky 10 mean?

Anonymous said...

Millville is actually bragging about a win against Rush? The U12 9v9 Blue team? You won in PK's! Huge honor! Now play against one of the quality 11v11 teams on this page. It would be 6-0 within 15 minutes! When you want to play with the big girls let any of the teams know.

Anonymous said...

Lucky 10 will get the privilege of paying thousands a year to learn to play soccer well and be on a winning kid soccer team.

Anonymous said...

Do some players try out and make these high level teams without having any means to actually join the team? How many players decline offers from high level academies?

Anonymous said...

PDA South Barcelona 1-0 over Penn Fusion

Looks like PDA is becoming the powerhouse of South Jersey.

Anonymous said...

Oh please Millville! NJ rush tied an 05 team the other weekend. Believe me, your win means nothing. When you decide to stop riding out the sjgsl then talk the talk. Yo couldn't even make it to the final at Jeff cup.

Anonymous said...

Go PDA South Barcelona !!!!

Anonymous said...

I think the number should be lucky18. Most will come from current u13 teams/Galaxy/crew and other top players on other teams like SDFC at u13 who are 2003 BY. The PDA north ecnl team will probably only take on 5 or 6 players on current u12 teams and one being gollie who should count as a player. Not to worry though, the following year spots will open when the DA takes a few that wants to deal with them.

Anonymous said...

Real only beat Harrison 1-0. Has Harrison gotten better or is Real packing it in?

Anonymous said...

If the da is as pricey as ecnl type teams, yes it will attract the same players. If it a low price point, competition for spots will be very tough.

Anonymous said...

GDA will be valid when our kids are sophomores in HS at best. They have a many building years ahead to prove they can pull this off. I think 90% will want to play in high school. how many 2003 players does PDA have on current u13 rosters?

Anonymous said...

Valid? Weird word choice. It is a place for kids to learn soccer like lots of other places. What makes soccer instruction invalid? Don't see why they would have poor coaching.

Anonymous said...

Did you mean relevant?

Anonymous said...

.... it's an adjective that means legitimate.

Anonymous said...

I think you are confusing the concept of legitimate with the concept of higher and lower levels of play. Soccer is a game with the same rules at every level.

Anonymous said...

Maybe you meant the slang "legit" as in the real deal?

Anonymous said...

131- please apologize so this guy moves on. I agree that the da will take a few years to get their shit together and won't be a "valid option" until 2019 or beyond. Most of the top high school girls playing now won't move. I know this for a fact, I have a freshman playing and she will be committed to college by the time she is eligible. I'll admit she won't be going pro for 25k a year if it's still around and she won't make the natl team, but she will get into a better college of her choice. Coaching is only one aspect and plenty of clubs and leagues have that now. Even Colorado Rush. You need a lot of solid players to train well and then you need other good teams to play against. You also need willing parents, fields and everything else it takes to build a new league. Just because they are the federation, doesn't mean they are the almighty and this thing will just appear. Look at the boys side after 8 years.... Most of the clubs looking at the da have no money, so I hope they have a plan in place to fund this baby...

Anonymous said...

Poor coaching? What does that have to do with 1:38? I'm not following.

Anonymous said...

One thing you do not need is air plane rides.

Anonymous said...

ECNL now considering boys divisions? Stop worrying about the future and concentrate on the present. Who knows what US soccer will look like in a few years.

Looks like ecnl has their backs up. I guess I don't blame them, the federation blind sided them and is trying to take away everything they built. What does this mean for us, more options and competition. Would be great if they both succeed, let the freaks go to GDA(we have all met them) and let the rest of us enjoy the game without controlling our kids lives. I know of at least 6 or 7 kids on my daughters team that would make the DA and only two that will end up going. And when they go, we all win.

Anonymous said...

What? The ECNL directly copied their league model from the federation boy's DA.

Anonymous said...

Trying to compete is not "taking away everything they built" (or copied). It will provide some competition and will be good for the consumer, especially if they start to compete on price. That is the american way.

Anyone go to MFA tryouts last night.

Anonymous said...

crickets

Anonymous said...

Matchfit tryout 2003. Aprox 50 girls tried out. 2004 aprox. 40 girls tried out.
Some good players on 2003. Moved the ball well.

Anonymous said...

You're stretching the truth a bit, I was at the MFA tryouts and there wasn't close to 50 2003s or 40 2004s.

Anonymous said...

We really want our daughter on a competitive 04 team next year, and we don't know whether to stick it out at our current club or look elsewhere. I assume that half of each u12 team is 2004, and not every u11 team has strong enough 04s to fill in the gaps, so it seems like if everyone stays with their clubs, the team's are going to have a big drop off between the top players and the rest. We live in northern nj, so clubs like PDA are too far for us to consider. Any thoughts on teams in north nj that you'd expect would attract top 04s for next year?

Anonymous said...

could have been 40 at each age. MF has four teams at each age. Next year they will only have two teams at each age. So expect them to keep everyone and have 26 per team

Anonymous said...

1:45

If that's the case, that club is in for a world of hurt. There was maybe 3 or 4 kids last night at the 04 age that were "quality" players. We will not be going back for future tryouts.

Anonymous said...

Inflated rosters seem to be common at "good" clubs as the girls get older. Why would anyone agree to this? Our club packs 18 girls on a team (and has a B team with that many girls) and we have often said 18 girls is too many. I know why the clubs do it---for money even if they say it's to protect against injuries, but how would this benefit our daughters?

Anonymous said...

Barons 03s had about 70 to 80 girls

Anonymous said...

I heard 160 and they are good, fast and can juggle dem balls.

Anonymous said...

PDA had 200+.

Anonymous said...

sjeb only had about 50 will have more tonight for those that didnt want to travel to hammonton
very talented group coming out of the woodwork

Anonymous said...

Great clubs but completely unaffordable for most players no matter how talented. And accepting financial assistance is embarrassing and not for most even if they need it. There will always be great players at lower cost options that are simply cut out of that environment based on cost.

Anonymous said...

2004 RUSH will be the team next season!! It will be the best of the best of South Jersey!!! Rush recruited the players! The team is set up to match their hot 2003 team! Just wait till the roster is posted!! Its a who's who of South Jersey!!! Players from Madrid, Xtreme, Barron's, PDA and a few others!!!! BEEP, BEEP, BEEP, BEEP..... SNOOZE BUTTON!

I believe that was not a dream but a nightmare!!!

Anonymous said...

That actually could happen!!! Any of the major clubs could pull that, not just Rush! That seriously could happen and no one would know till its all over!!! Thats how crazy this age requirement has become. One team will come out as a powerhouse.

Anonymous said...

Powerhouse is and always will be PDA.

Anonymous said...

April 6, 2016 at 7:10 PM

WOW..what did Rush do to you?

Anonymous said...

I think it will be a toss up between barons and rush next year at the 04 age group this coming season.

Anonymous said...

Haven't Barons and Rush merged? That's what it says on Rush's website.

Anonymous said...

U15 and older for college showcase ages.

Anonymous said...

They r separated until u-15 then merge to make a show case team

Anonymous said...

Another fabulous day to play soccer!

Anonymous said...

That's what makes sports great. You have to play in all different kinds of conditions.

Anonymous said...

Separates the committed from the not so committed. Interesting who is "sick" today.

Anonymous said...

Nobody on any decent team is calling out sick today, unless they are sick.

Anonymous said...

PDA Lyon had girls out sick or something - only like 14 or 15 out there today...

Anonymous said...

I was talking about all the indecent teams. Sometimes people are on this forum not from the almighty super awesome decent teams. Some teams have wide ranging rosters - imagine that!

Anonymous said...

Thats good for the girls who came! More playing time!

Anonymous said...

Is the skill level relevant when it comes to commited vs not committed? I don't think so. Maybe the weather had nothing to do with why they were missing.

Anonymous said...

"I was talking about all the indecent teams."

I have a couple degrees but i don't get this comment. Is it some sort of sarcasm or inside joke with yourself?

PDA Lyon is down a few girls at the PDA tournament but i'm pretty sure they are at the US Soccer YNT regional camp this weekend. You guys just make up funny stuff on here…The PDA and MFA hate is awesome here. Why?

Anonymous said...

"Nobody on any decent team is calling out sick today"

Anonymous said...

Go Lyon! No goals allowed again.

Anonymous said...

Aztec dominates ECNL teams in their bracket and scores 10 goals then plays PDA Lyon and gets steam rolled 3-0 in PDA Tourney final. Lyon was supposedly down two of the best players at US Soccer camp and they don't give up a goal all weekend?

Seriously. Are they just that much better than everybody? What is their training like?

https://tgs.totalglobalsports.com/public/standings.aspx?eid=164&fid=782

Anonymous said...

Aztec was on this board a lot before jeff Cup and after jeff Cup and have had two chances at them.

What do they say?

Anonymous said...

Any thoughts on San Diego Surf FC opening up shop in New York? Are they angling for a DA spot?

Anonymous said...

All these teams only have a few more weeks together as a team. Next fall will be interesting.

Anonymous said...

2:51 soccer is a business. No different that PDA opening up shop in Florida or Tom Collichio opening a restaurant in Vegas.

Anonymous said...

Lyon in last three tournaments. Manhattan Jeff Cup and PDA Kickoff. 12-0. 35 goals for 1 against.

Anonymous said...

The gotsoccer state ranks of those 12 wins 12,6,6,1,2,3,2,5,2,5,2,2. That is ridiculous.

Anonymous said...

Thank you to the Lyon parent who posted at 1:16, 1:46, 2:20, 2:53, 6:15, 7:27 and 7:43 for updating everyone. Clearly you have spent a lot of time and effort. Luckily you have a lot of spare time on your hands. Some may even say "no life".
