Organization is important. Experience is important.Continuity is important. PDA 99 has a coach that started PDA so 19 years at this level. The 00 Coach not as long but with PDA 5 years and and an A license. 01 Coach just 3 at PDA but a multiple state champ winner in high school soccer. 02 Coach is the head coach at RU and been at PDA 14 years. The O3 Coach at PDA over a decade. The 04 coach Sal so 19 years from the start. Another thing is these guys are not coaching 2 or 3 teams(The 00 coach does the 05's but its not his first responsibility. So just having 1 team, being experienced like say 10-20 years at one club, Continuity -04's same guy for 6 years, 03 for 7 years, 99's for 11 years and the reputation that keeps bringing them from all over. I'm sure Cedar Stars, MFA, SJE have lots of talented people but they don't have all the ingredients to compete at all ages.
nobody's got anything good to say?
Serious question for anyone associated with SDFC. What are you guys doing for the fall? Are you staying, leaving as a team, or just breaking up? Just wondering.
@ 6:58 why are you asking? Are you just curious or interested in the team? If you are interested in the team, I would recommend reaching out to the coach instead of listening to anonymous posters who may not even be from the team giving you answers that may or may not be true.
@6.58 SDFC sticking together, girls enjoying and well-liked coach. We have been told adding some players as have small squad, some good players have come training so far. As above poster, anything more detailed than that would reach out to coach.
Does it matter what team a player came from when looking for a new team? For example, If a coach is selecting one of two players of similar skill set - would the coach consider the teams the player played on in the past? Would a coach second guess taking a player that looked good in tryouts cause they came from a less competitive team?
No they would take the player that best fits with the existing team and has a similar style as the rest of the players on the team. Sometime coaches are only looking for certian position at try outs to fill gaps in the team. Like PDA north Sjeb any of the big name clubs they are only looking for a few spots. If you don't crack there top 6 to 7 they might pass on you. Just the nature of the beast.
7:08nobut a player from a lesser team may go unnoticed if she does not doing something to GET noticed at the tryout. In other words - with no big team history coming in the coaches need to have their eyes opened by something your daughter does at the session.Just going there and playing solid soccer may not suffice.Hope this helps - and good luck
If there is a specific team you r looking at contact the coach and go to a practice. This way the coach can get a good look at your kid and how she measures up to the existing team. Try outs r tuff when there r 60+ Kids on the field to get noticed cause everyone is doing me ball to impress the coaches cause that is what happens at try outs kids r trying to stand out.
Manalapan GPS (Global Premier Soccer) 2004 Girls have tryouts;4/27, 7.30-9pm, Field A Zone 25/4, 7.30-9pm, Field A Zone 4 93 Freehold Road Manalapan, NJ 07726
@8:19 is this the current Manalapan Sting team?
What happened with Cedar Stars/TSF Cup game? It's says the game was halted by ref with 15 minutes left in game and must be replayed in its entirety. Weather? Was there any score when it was stopped?
6:49 The score was 0-0 when the game was stopped due to poor field conditions. Wouldn't the teams go to OT and then penalties? Where is the rule that allows the game to be replayed in it's entirety.
Poor field conditions? So the field was fine the first 50 minutes of the game and now its not? What a joke. Go to PK's and be done with it.
8:18That was the correct thing to do if it happened that way. You can't go directly to pks if the full game isn't played. If he deemed the field unplayable, it was correct to call a replay. It sucks they couldn't look at the forecast and see they weren't going to get the game in.
Daughters friend plays for Cedar Stars, said the ball was stopping in puddles on the turf, rained all day.
9:48The game was on turf? not grass? That changes everything. If the game was on turf and play was started, it shouldn't have been stopped unless there was lightening.
If the referee deems the field unsafe they will call the game. If the turf was holding water as the one poster mentioned, the ref will call the game regardless of the score or whether its turf or grass. Safety first.
There's no logic from the ref then. So a wet slippery field in normal rain is safe but small puddles that actually slow the game down is unsafe? Why do teams play in the snow then? No logic at all in stopping that game - unless the home team was worried about losing in pks to an inferior team and hounded the ref to stop it.
8:18 No one who was there would question the referee's decision to stop the game. They might question why the game was played or was not stopped at half time. There is a specific rule on the NJ State Cup website (F.1) "Games terminated after the first half is completed will be considered a finished game and the score will stand." There is another rule that says when games finish in a tie you go to OT and then penalty kicks. That would make sense here since the game was about over and the teams would just be finishing things as if the game had continued, seems fair to both teams and practical since they only have 4 days to get a result. Is there some other rule that allows the game to be replayed.
The home team hounded the ref? That is what your sad paranoid ass is suggesting? You are a complete toolbag. Paranoid much.
Awwwww, the little simple minded Cedar Stars parents got their little feelings hurt.
Not a Stars parent, just tired of seeing ridiculous posts based on no evidence made by anonymous adults, who are so caught up in their daughters U13 soccer team, that they feel the need to constantly rip everyteam to make themselves feel better about their daughters obvious lack of success.
settle down skippy and get a grip
Anyone who still uses the name Skippy, I obviously a douchebag
Okay chief, we hear you. Go back to mommies basement now.
Now you go with chief? What year do you live in? Go back to rec soccer where your kid was a star and you were happy.
Ouch, the old tired "rec" comment. What year are you from? My daughter plays ECNL and is probably going DA next year. Got it spanky?
What happened with the PDA/STA State Cup game? Score is posted as 0-0 with no winner.
It says pda won in shootout u have to click on the game when it's a tie.
It says penalty kicks to be taken.
Spanky? Your douche level keeps rising. If you daughter were as good as you say she is, you wouldn't feel the need to rip other teams on a message board. You are a sad human being.
Ok junior, what brings you here then? You sound like white trash with your constant references to "douche". Pathetic
it said PDA won 5-3 in pks the other day. wonder what happened? between this game and the cedar stars game, what the heck is going on with this tournament?
Junior? I feel like I am watching a Dice Clay special from 1991. I certainly don't come here to rip 12 year old girls. Sometimes people post scores here before they are posted elsewhere. Sometimes you can read about someone's experience with clubs. Why do you come here? Seems like you just want to bash clubs, brag about your child and act like some kind of blog tough guy. Do me a favor, let me know where your kid plays so I can avoid being associated with someone like you.
Hickory dickory dock...oh, never mind sizzle chest.
Did liverpool fade away?
Lots of talent at Liverpool.
From where? I heard it's just a high cost rec program that didn't even get enough girls in our age group to field a team. I heard a few girls paid to commit and he said no team but kept deposit anyway. Sounds like a real jerk.
Sounds like a Barry move. I have dealt with him first hand. I would stay far away from anything he is involved in. I am not saying that to start crap just informing people before they get screwed. Soccer is already drama but I don't agree with adults trying to get over on parents and kids over this game.
Who cares about all these Jersey teams, PA soccer is better!
PA has one good team penn fusion
Not for long . A lot of PF kids are leaving to go to CFC and now with PAC getting a DA PF will not be getting all those Harrisburg, Lancaster kids etc that they recruit . Also people are getting sick of the Tino bullshit at PF .
It should be an interesting night at USTC with PF DA and CFC ECNL tryouts happening at the same time and place!
Philly soccer has the best PA team at this age.
Meh...yet to be impressed with any team from Philly.
I 2nd the Liverpool situation and his current IG situation. He has a habit of BS-ing parents. He will offer things on paper, families pay, he takes things away then doesn't inform families and doesn't offer a refund on what he took away. Comes up with all sorts of excuses for doing it when a few parents do figure it out. He should be ashamed of himself. The fact he is doing this to a handful of kids on the team that are really good, sucks even more. He doesn't deserve anyone's kids to train or coach. Funny thing is he's so worried about people talking negative about him ahaha, I wonder why! People have the right to know what he's doing. STAY AWAY!
2:19 I'm really shocked and sorry to hear that about Barry. My daughter trained with Barry when she was younger and he was great .Hearing he is acting like that is very disappointing .Did the parents ask for a refund and were refused ?
It's my understanding someone asked for a refund and he claimed prices increased that was his excuse. He may get over on families that don't know any better but a few parents are holding on to their last payment. It comes down to the ole mighty dollar anymore if you have ever read all the crap on the u14 blog. And if he ever reads this I hope he sits back and thinks about the non sense he is causing himself and others and it is true what people are saying so he can't cry or feel attacked. The truth is the truth and facts are facts. No one is dragging his "good" name through the mud but him. He also needs to stop talking about money issues with the kids.
3:25 Sounds like he's also not a very good business man .Like I said, my daughter trained with him when she was younger . At that time he was working for a club as their coach . He was well liked as a coach but of course wasn't handling money and running it at as a business at the time . I hope the parents get their money back. I
When does PDA DA offers go out?
Many are out. Many more to come...
Anyone trying Cedar Stars DA? How was the turnout for session 1?
So now STA is listed as the winner in their game with PDA? What the heck is going on with this tournament?
10:01 STA appealed because of a ref mistake in the initial pk's and the pk's were redone yesterday.
Blown ref call on PK's last week. Teams had to reshoot PK's last night. STA advances 4-3 result.
That sounds like bs. So PDA won, the ref made a mistake and they made them re-take the whole shootout? Sounds like NJ Cup shenanigans at it's finest. Wouldn't expect any different with the guy who runs it. Don't refs make "mistakes" in every game?
So the ref tried to help PDA and got caught. The only surprising part is that they actually corrected things.
"So the ref tried to help PDA and got caught"You must be a special kind of stupid.
If part of the game had to be replayed due to a referee mistake that favored PDA, that statement is true.
How did the ref supposedly try to help PDA?
Straight from The NJ Cup website - pay close attention to #2:F. MISC. REGULATIONS 1. Inclement weather - In case of severe weather that begins after the start of play, Cup officials in consultation with referees may reduce the length, postpone, conclude, reschedule, relocate or cancel any game. Games terminated after the first half is completed will be considered a finished game and the score will stand. Games terminated during the first half will be considered a 1-1 tie regardless of the current score. 2. Protests - There are no protests. Cup officials reserve the right to decide all matters pertaining to the Cup and Cup rules and regulations. The judgment of the Cup Director is final.
He attempted to give them a victory they didn't earn.
Tryouts are almost complete. Lets do a survey!Has it been a good tryout season? Thumbs up = my daughter is happy with team invite and committed! Hmm = Have yet to decide, but pleased with options!Thumbs down = daughter got cut, not happy with options, or team is falling apart.
What was the mistake?
9:40 you can't be that ignorant can you?If the ref made a bad call during the first half that benefited STA and PDA protested because it was unfair to them, should the game be replayed as well? It's a never ending circle. It sucks but wrong decisions are made by refs all the time, by not accepting defeat, you just taught your little Suzy a terrible lesson - that if she complains hard enough, she'll get her way. Great job mommy/daddy!
I give it a one thumb up! Didn't make her first choice but very excited to join her second choice!
STA - PDA game was not a judgement call by the ref - that was appealed - it was black and white missed rule call. PK rules state they are FIFA rules, and the ref disallowed a goal without a retake not because of unsportmanship. Blatant rule call blown. That is why they were retaken.
Thanks for chiming in Bob - You continue to show how much of a joke you are.Refs make errors all the time.
The referee made a clear error in my game; can we replay the game . . . it's a slippery slope. At the end of the day SDFC and CSA are the best two teams by a wide margin.
PDA/STA - the girls moved on already. Parents should do same.
should of moved on after the initial result...
And you should move on now
I'll decide when to do that
It's U13 soccer, get over it already, it's pathetic.
CSA a best team by a wide margin, lol, thats funny! What lemonade are they giving you to drink at CSA. VERY VERY FUNNY!
6:22 you have an axe to grind - or don't know soccer.
Semifinal results from cup?
Wash vs tbaa in final
Congrats to them, how about the top flight?
Yellow vs stallions
what was score?
6-1 yellow and 1-0 stallions
Wrong. 4-1 SDFC and I believe it was 2-1 Stallions
Anyone know the score of the final?
Stallions lost?Ahhhh.... too bad....
Stallions were off their game on Sunday. Usually give SDFC a better fight and only lose by 1.
9:34 - Maybe yellow raised their game this spring. They had three lopsided wins.
At least there weren't any protests. Ooops, sorry I meant "appeals"
11:27-They beat up some bad teams. Congrats.
Out of curiosity, if all those teams were bad, which teams are good? The Pda teams that are too chicken crap to play in the cup for fear that they might actually lose a game in the state like Barcelona did? Are there any other good teams in the state?
Curious what everyone is thinking about DA at this age (2004)? CSA vs NYCSC vs PDA, the whole concept in general.
CSA??? Come on! DA will take time and doesn't mean a thing at this age? But PDA will be the power house on the girls side. They always have been and between DA and ECNL they have it all. CSA doesn't even have a successful girls program and is hoping to bring together decent teams from tryouts??? PDA doesn't even have to look outside their own program to build these teams and eventually the best players will end up at PDA. How does anyone think CSA will be successful on the Girls DA side when they have never been proven successful on the boys side. Red Bulls for the boys and PDA for the girls. Always has been always will be!!!! Their programs are run the right way with great coaching that stick around for the long hall! Don't waste your time or money at CSA. Other local programs will get you further then CSA!
The boys want nycfc if they can get it. Always is not a useful word to use about anything youth soccer related unless you mean always changing.
GDA needs to maintain a level of super selectivity to achieve the objective of developing world class players. Tryouts for GDA should be invite only, the number of GDA programs kept to a minimum, and players should be able to billet so they can live and go to school near the facility.
Nycfc made a smart move by deciding to run a GDA. Lots of families have boys and girls involved in the sport and appreciate nycfc's involvement in the girl's game.
A soccer boarding school would exclude even more talent from the game. Who can afford that?
A billet system is different from boarding school. US Soccer or the club pays a family to house the player. That would add players to the program.
Still.sounds like adding costs of reducing costs.
Meant sounds like adding costs and not reducing costs.
You do realize by having the mindset that PDA is the only game in town is exactly the narrative that PDA wants out there.
There is so much soccer in New Jersey. I'm just stating fact since I have been around all levels of New Jersey soccer for 30 years. And no I do not have a player at PDA! No comment on the boys Red Bulls? Like I said its just facts! Many players from all levels of NJ soccer have been successful. I'm just sick of listening to not knowledgeable people on this blog trying to convince themselves and everyone else that their daughters are the best because they make "CSA" and most likely played politics to make that happen. You deal with the devil you will get burnt. If your daughter is that talented and that committed to the game of soccer she can play wherever makes her happy now and by the age of 16 an organization like PDA will add her if she is that talented. Just make sure you have a great trainer wherever you are and stop wasting your money and burning your daughter out at a young age!
Sorry PDA, for players on a budget...the tuition free age groups at the csgda are pretty irrisitable.
Someone else drinking funny lemonade that Cedar Stars is giving out!!!!!!
So you would rather have your daughter be the 18 th player on PDA DA and pay for her to not play in games over going to CSA DA, having them cover it and her playing meaningful minutes in games?
Is that a trick question?
2:49 - The conversation on this blog was about GDA which is supposed to be about finding and developing super elite soccer players throughout the U.S. PDA is the only club in NJ that has super elite girls teams at every age group and does so year after year. My daughter does not play at PDA but anytime they've beaten a PDA team it has meant something. It remains to be seen whether CSA will ever challenge PDA. CSA has no proven track record for developing super elite talent and bought their way in to GDA. It will be 10 years before we know whether CSA can deliver at the super elite level or is just a big club with a lot of very good teams. I am not going to knock them for trying.
PDA does a great job for affluent talent. Does a whole lot of nothing for lower income talent. You don't need to respond about all the scholarships available.
Only thing CSA has going for it is Tab Ramos investment. No TR, No DA. CAA hasn't done squat at this age group ever. I'm a town parent and even I know that.
Agreed, Soccer, like most elite sports in the US, has a pay to play model. Finances is an area where CSA has an advantage but only because a wealthy club owner is covering the costs. US Soccer is not doing nearly enough to address the costs of youth soccer.
If you live near Toms River or south of that, CSA is a decent option. It is better than the Wildcats and the money grab knows as PDA Shore.
@ May 12 1:45 pm--what do you mean that they made a smart move by adding GDA at NYCFC? Wondering if this is a worthwhile option for girls or just an extension of WCFC.
Meant they can maybe sell more tickets and merchandise and attract advertising. Here families choose between two mls club to support. One runs a GDA.
This entire thread makes me so incredibly happy that my classy, athletic daughter plays rugby. What a bunch of crazies ya'll are...
1107. Then why are you on a soccer board? My kid plays soccer-can you direct me to a rugby group?
His daughter plays soccer- but the way his daughters Pda parents are- it's like a rugby team.
Rugby parent is on this page because it's the most entertaining site on the 'net.
Just curious, where do 12 year old girls play rugby in NJ. Although its more likely that 11:07 is from West Virginia.
http://www.rugbynewjersey.com/pages/spring15s2015hsgirlsprogression from soccer for an athlete, otherwise you can stick with soccer or lacrosse.
Does anyone know how girls PDA took for their DA team?
Wow, SJEB got crushed by SDFC
SDFC beat them in the fall too. Not as bad though. What happened in that game for SJEB to loose 1-6?!
It's called soccer sometimes teams have a bad game and you play a team that has a great game.
or not....Sometimes a team is just better
Played both SJEB and SDFC teams this spring season and although SJEB team is very good I think SDFC is at another level. They will easily win the EDP league.
I have seen both SDFC and PDA Lyon play this year and SDFC moves the ball better and looks more organized. PDA has the better athletes and deeper bench.
Don't forget to register for the Liverpool FC summer soccer camp !
CSA is a Money grab. The Mens devision does not have one competitive team. The women's teams are not looking very good. I asked as many parents at the second tryouts who the coaches were going to be. Not one knew. Not ONE. I will not just blindly give my daughters development or my money to a club that can't even tell you who their coaches are going to be. I looked on their web page, no coach has been with the club for more than 10 months. Says something when you can't keep your coaches. PDA, PDA south, SJEB and even NJX are better clubs. Its your money and kid!
So a billionaire is spending millions on a state of the art facility, to make a few thousand dollars? Your logic is flawed.
MFA wins DELCO. Tough ECNL schedule seems like it paid off.
Watched my daughter play MFA at Delco...that team is legit
well that didn't last long.
Mfa now we have officially lost your minds . Pda is all any of you town players should strive to be .
How many 04 teams are the Monmouth Cedar Stars putting together for the fall? DA, ECNL, NPL, EDP?
I am pretty sure Cedar Stars doesn't have ECNL. I would guess DA and then maybe NPL and if they have enough kids an EDP team. Just a guess though.
Great job today Average-Game with your 2005 team. We know they looked better than the other teams even though they lost 2-4 and 0-6. The flair and style was such a pleasure to watch. Ha. #fraud.
this blog is pretty quiet. Did SJEB get any better for the 2017/18 season?
Any better? As in did they swap their bottom three for stronger players?
One of their starters went to pda
When does 04 become u14 officially?
So who did you see SJEB play? And what exactly made them unimpressive?โกเด้นสล็อตสูตรบาคาร่าGclub จีคลับ
SDFC lost 8-0 to San Diego Surf, just wow.
phan son ?? what??seriously, none of these teams are impressive. They may be better and win games. But no teams in this region at this age are "WoW - Amazing"
Amazing how fast news travels for girls soccer. Did you watch SDFC v San Diego game? In Texas?
They have to play them again in the final.http://tournaments.usyouthsoccer.org/events/2017-National-Championships/Schedule/13U-Girls/Division+1/
11:14 has pretty high standards for 13 year olds. The team makes a national finals and you cannot given them any credit.
Watched some of the SDFC v San Diego game on YouTube San Diego team was impressive. Overall stronger team. Doesnt mean SDFC is a 'bad team' just isn't at the same level as the San Diego team.
Nice job by SDFC finishing 2nd in nationals, congrats and well deserved.
Except San Diego Surf is a middle of the road GDA team. They didnt do well at Surf Cup against other good GDA teams (0:4 and 2:5). In order for the very good SDFC team to go to the next level - they should consider GDA, or find higher level competition in the region. They have a good coach - they know where they need to go next.
If only it was that simple. The club has to be accepted into GDA program, not just one team and USSDA doesn't make it easy.
NYSC got their DA very late in the game - so not impossible. SDFC can merge with CSA - instant gratification. CSA will do anything to stop PDA.
The San Diego team finished 3d in the 12 team GDA bracket which is hardly middle of the road. Maybe SDFC is doing just fine where they are. There are paths to development other than GDA or ECNL.
3:00 - SDFC really played the Surf ECNL team - not the Surf DA team like someone else mentioned. So the results are skewed. The ecnl team was pulled in at the last minute after being done with nationals - and played only 1 DA game against burlingame - they will play surf cup next week (officially)http://events.gotsport.com/events/schedule.aspx?eventid=59034&FieldID=0&applicationID=4084327&action=Go
No doubt they are a very good team, one of the best in NJ, but it's a different reality out there when they play west coast teams.
The Surf DA team was at nationals not the ecnl team. If you check the rosters of both you will see the coaches and players for the DA match who was at nationals. SDFC was not good enough to beat them, but I give them credit for adapting and improving from their horrible loss in game one
6:48 - not likely. The DA team would have to fly to texas, then back to cali, back to texas and then cali again to make those games.25, 26, 27 - texas28 - surf cup29 - texas final29 - back for an evening game at surf cup31 - surf cup
The ECNL (2nd team) played the first two games at Surf Cup, the DA team flew home and completed schedule after Nationals
thoughts on the EDP brackets for the Fall?
Hard to say without knowing player movement. Looks like most competitive is Central. More teams, more brackets. Most likely lopsided mafcbes in all brackets.- Captain Obvious
SDFC will go undefeated again
And I thought all the bad sports were in this forum. The Surf mom in this thread brings things to a new level...questioning the existence of soccer outside the great state of California. SDFC folks best avoid reading or responding to this wicked troll.http://www.socalsoccer.com/threads/usys-national-championship-livestream.3811/
You mean like:"Absolutely horrified that the team that lost 8-0 to Surf won yesterday 2-0. Again absolutely horrified at the lack of meaningful competition at the National level. I hope Surf wins the championship 10-0 no kidding! Roll on!"Wonder what was going through her head when her team tied that 2-0 loser. Probably that the game didn't matter so why try. The 3-1 loss in the final for SDFC against such a good Surf team is very respectable. More than I can say for that mom. Bet she blew a gasket when it was tied at halftime.
I can see why you would think it's a Surf mom, but I think it's just someone who spends a lot of time on a youth message board. Her daughter is likely on another California team that failed to get past Surf, and now SDFC's performance in game 1 somehow proves that all the teams in the the regional league are better than every other team in the nation. Because that's how it works.
IF a club has an A and B team, are the A team players considered guest players when they play for B team in a tournament?
for tournaments yes they r guest players. in most leagues they are not guest players. Leagues let u play with any team in the club.
Which genius from here went on the SoCal Soccer forum to stir trouble. Bringing the value of "gotsoccer points" made you look desperate. Just look at the difference in YSR and gotsoccer credibility - you can have to look in the mirror sometimes and ask yourself if perhaps the entire Region 1 is not on par with Cali/Texas at this age group - and I do believe that SDFC is the top echelon of Region 1 at this point in time.
The post looks like it was saying that the SoCal person is looking at GS points as a determining factor for how good teams are - it wasn't saying that GS is the be all end all.1 - If you're so worried about what's said on the SoCal boards, then why make the original post complaining about what they are posting?2 - SDFC is not the top echelon of Region I. Accept it and move on.3 - You aren't the God of youth soccer forums so stop acting it. People can and will post in whatever forum they want to. If you don't like it, then don't look.
here is the top 10 in region. Aren't most of them be DA this year? will DA teams be ranked on youthsoccerrankings ? If the teams only play each other then they can't. right? FC STARS OF MASSACHUSETTS PRE ECNL (MA) EAST MEADOW SC PRE ECNL (NYE) WORLD CLASS FC PRE ECNL (NYE) PENN FUSION SA PRE ECNL (PAE) ALBERTSON SC FURY PRE ECNL (NYE) PLAYERS DEVELOPMENT ACADEMY LYON (NJ) SOCCER DOMAIN FC YELLOW (NJ) ATLETICO FC NY BRENTWOOD SC FC (NYE) SEACOAST UNITED NPL (NH) HERNDON HURRICANES BLACK (VA)
Herndon in the top 10? Really? How did they do in ERL? Regionals? Did they make National League?
Top ten per youth soccer rankings
Sdfc is going to get crushed in the National league. This is just a new flavor of Kool Aid the coach is serving up. So now they will pay more travel expenses to get beat. And looking at the competition it looks like all the left overs that couldn't make ecnl or da...
Does it bother anyone else that both girls in the blog picture have their eyes closed while heading the ball?
Kind of a natural body reaction but I get your point. I actually noticed the girl in the blue shirt committing a clear foul with her forearm buried in the other girl's back.
Whose ready to watch some soccer this weekend?
First surprise of the season. Barons beat South Shore in Spirit United final. that's a solid win for them.
why is it a surprise? What's the difference between a win and a solid win?
Liverpool had a solid weekend.
9:53Because most people would expect SS to beat the Barons. It's a win that you can't say, "well they beat a crappy team". They beat a very well respected team in the region. Do you understand now, or do you need further clarification?
Is it your opinion the Barons have a less respected reputation in the region, so much so, a win against a respected team is a big deal? With a one goal differential, a little clarification on the difference between a "win" vs a "solid win" ????
I get it. You are stating Barons has a hollow victories reputation. That makes your post a bit of a compliment and a dig. Looks like Spirit was missing some talented teams compared to last year.
I get it, you're the kid who got picked last in sports as a tyke so you find solace in over-dissecting things said on a blog. Run along now and leave the commentary to the adults who actually understand the sport.
a very mature adult, you are, indeedSo sour and bitter. Lighten up man
"a very mature adult, you are, indeedSo sour and bitter. Lighten up man"You come on here and over analyze my original comment obviously trying to stir things up and when you get exposed, you whine. So sadBack to mommy's basement junior.
My daughter has played it of good teams in the area, SJEB beating South Shore is a bit of a surprise. Not saying SJEB is a bad team, but South Shore was an elite team and beating them is a good win.
1:17 did you see the game?
3:25Thank you! That's all I was trying to say. I wasn't trying to start any problems. Sad that someone had to try and stir things up. You can't even compliment a team anymore.
All this great win conversation is great- but that Liverpool team in setting marks in futility. Liverpool rocks!
Liverpool u14 team ????? Never heard of them .
Why wouldn't SJEB's top team be entered into the EDP open cup?
They aren't. But even if they were, why would that matter?
@1:28 i'm thinking they are probably a top team in NJ. They seemed to have improved a bit from last year. They could give SDFC a better game this year. Should I keep giving reasons?
Who knows, maybe they got smart and realized it's a joke of a "tournament" that does nothing but cram up a team's schedule.
They play SDFC in the regular season. They did spirit united, bethsda, EDP fall cup and nj state cup. How much more u want a team to do.
ECNL PDA vs MF @ 3PM - any predictions?
