U12G - U12 Girls Youth Soccer

This is a time when players develop a true love for the game and the focus is a little more intense, on the field and on the sidelines...

Accepted teams list out for the Bethesda tournament. Looks like some great competition!

Anonymous said...

So many jersey teams, why not just stay home and play each other here?

Anonymous said...

Because Aztec, Braddock Road, Horsham and South Shore aren't coming to NJ. This is as good if not better than WAGS. We get it, the PDA's don't travel. Maybe you can squeeze in another grueling match with Wall Lizards or the NJ Unicorns.

Anonymous said...

Congrats on all the teams who advanced in the State Cup!

Anonymous said...

Looks like the Quarter finals will all be very good games.

Anonymous said...

Anyone know who won the Middletown- Sussex state cup game?

Anonymous said...

not suggesting anything about their value, but does gotsoccer only keep the last 12 months of events/points for each team? i presume its not an endless aggregation that just keeps going up an dup over time? id imagine its a 12 month window of points. is that right?

Anonymous said...

Correct..it is a rolling 12 month period for the points acquired from league and tournament games. In the game history for a team you can see a date called ranked until xx/xx/xx. The points from that event stay with a team until that date and then will drop off.

Anonymous said...

When did or does the Middletown v Sussex game get played?

Final?

Anonymous said...

Who cares?

Anonymous said...

10:25 - The person who posted the question cares.

Anonymous said...

I'm with 10:25...who the heck cares. How dare somebody actually make a legitimate inquiry on this blog. After all, the only team worth discussing is the one my daughter plays on!

Anonymous said...

8:15 - let's talk about your dd's team. What's new?

Anonymous said...

Voorhees 1-0 over PDA South

Anonymous said...

Voorhees 1 - Barcelona 0
Nail biter

Anonymous said...

What is wrong with Voorhees?

Anonymous said...

Township teams tend to crumble. This was predictable. Spring will be more interesting for them.

Anonymous said...

Why will spring be more interesting?

Anonymous said...

They probably mean that's when tryouts are and when things tend to get crazy.

Anonymous said...

Maybe it has to do with Voorhees moving to 11v11 and getting accustomed to the larger field. Looking at the results from the spring, Barcelona won the U11 11v11 1st division while Bergen (now in first) finished in fifth. I think it takes time for the 8v8 teams (township or otherwise) to make the transition.

Anonymous said...

Does EDP run the 1st / 2nd / MAPS divisions as a promotion / relegation system?

Anonymous said...

Nope but I wish ECNL, NPL and & EDP were run that way. Some of the money making clubs wouldn't be were they are if they did. What player movement (and their money)there would be if some of these "academy" clubs were booted from ECNL or NPL...

Anonymous said...

I think they meant if they are in the 1st division & finish at the bottom will they be moved down a flight & the answer is yes they do just as some teams will move up as well.

Anonymous said...

Except Lyon, they did not want to move up

Anonymous said...

@10:25 the spring will be a circus when tryouts roll out for the new age groupings. Town teams will be left in the dirt.

Anonymous said...

@ 10:24
Don't kid yourself, its going to be a circus for everyone.

Anonymous said...

Most high profile town teams don't make it past U12 on purpose. They merge into clubs for access into ECNL/NPL. The name may change but it's still the same team with some new players. For awhile the team will be referred to as the old "team name." For example, the new club team ----- they are the old -----. With the new age status starting, its truly every player for themselves.... Let the poaching begin!! For New Jersey, I can see a super team being formed for U13 with all new players.... Just a hunch, many elite 04's available.... Going to be great to watch!

Lyon 1 East Meadow 1
WC 5 East Meadow 4

Points:
WC

Anonymous said...

WC can actually win tourney with a tie. Lyon needs to win for the tourney win.

Anonymous said...

Can you please provide a link

Anonymous said...

I doubt there will be a link. Tourney is somewhat off the record. At this age I believ MFA really has no A team. 3 very comparable teams and you won't know what they really have until next year when ECNL and Pre-ECNL teams are formed at U13 and U12.

Anonymous said...

There won't be a link, as it is a scrimmage fest. And this parent PDA DAD I'm 100 percent sure of wants all to hear. The sad part is ecnl pre ecnl really doesn't matter. The teams next year will all have different looks at age change time, also to even ask about match fit a.k.a. Hamilton wildcats confirms my point about ecnl crap. Remember 75 percent by u14 of your snowflakes will be out of soccer.Enjoy your time with your kids, be happy, because as fast as they are 11 they will be gone. Then you will have plenty of time crazy house wife to get treated for bi polar.

Anonymous said...

Maybe it is what you want to call it but it feels like a tournament to all teams staying in the hotel. There was no gotsoccer setup but there are 24 teams and six brackets of U11 & U12 all playing 11 v 11 on pristine all grass fields. Our entire team stayed in a hotel along with other teams. We had to pay our coach's expenses for the weekend...So I'd say it is a like tournament but probably more of an "invitational".
World Class hosted it lad year.

Anonymous said...

@8;42 I hope you take on the soccer world . God forbid other kids grow or get faster in next three years. Save that hotel money for college have another bbc on a cracker.

Anonymous said...

World Class 1
PDA Lyon 0

Anonymous said...

Please provide score of FC Stars game if possible

Anonymous said...

8:42, new ECNL rules mandate each club do a certain number of Pre-ECNL events at U12. There will be more in the Spring.

Anonymous said...

What were all of the brackets/teams?

Anonymous said...

Nice work wc - u made everyone's day a little brighter

Anonymous said...

The prob with Lyon is the one forward looks like she is running in quick sand. Absolutely no threat. That gave our d teams time to rest.

Anonymous said...

They will have much bigger problems next year when they have to compete for spots with the current older team.

Anonymous said...

Will the Lyons be the new PDA 04 team? Doesn't look like many will stay there because of age. I would assume PDA will take all the 03 girls from Lyons and have them try out for the new PDA pre ecnl girls 03 team - that would be comprised of current 03 u13 girls on the A and B teams or galaxy and crew. Everyone will start over and have to tryout for new teams - gives people from outside a solid shot at tryouts. If you are a starter and coach stays put - always helps your cause. Same will happen at WC - although they have a much weaker current u13 team - red storm - so the current u12 girls will have a decent shot at starting positions with WC. This team needs the change for many reason. They need a new coach at both u12 and u13 - both are horrible right now. My daughter is a current 03 on WC u13 and we will try out for PDA next year - live half way between both clubs. I think our younger team is solid - as you can see from results - but not sure of the age mix between 03 and 04's. All options are open - but I would give PDA advantage next year with 03 age group because of the current teams at u13. MF will be left for anyone who is unhappy with new teams. All the other clubs will struggle next two years with all the change.

Anonymous said...

IF by "struggle" you mean less wins, than perhaps, but some other team will get the wins and "struggle" less i suppose.

Stop focusing exclusively on win loss record and find a good match for your kid in terms of coach, competition level, and cost and all will be fine.

Anonymous said...

Struggle with transition to age group change - but thanks for your feedback. Said nothing about wins - loss. And I don't need to worry about cost - but thanks for your concern.

Anonymous said...

It was just a general comment as many parents I speak with are very focused on the win record and many parents spend significant sums on soccer.

Anonymous said...

How is it a general comment when you accuse someone's prior post and out in quotes?
And people who question about how other people spend their money says it all...

Anonymous said...

Love someone from WC saying MFA will be left with the castoffs. Not sure what color your world is, but last time I looked their ECNL program was a little stronger than yours. Just looked again. WC was dead last in 3 of the 5 ages in the Metro Division and your total GD across all 5 ages was-33. MFA GD was +62. Their teams aren't great at U12/U13 but that can and will likely change over the next two years. Just my advice, PDA at U13 (2003s) your kid better be a special player.

What is going on with PDA South? They lose at home to Barons East who hadn't scored a goal prior to today.

Anonymous said...

PDA South - Barcelona. Still short on individual talent to consistently compete at high level. Will improve after 1-2 more recruiting classes.

Anonymous said...

PDA Lyon 3
Wall Lizards 0

Anonymous said...

"PDA South - Barcelona. Still short on individual talent to consistently compete at high level. Will improve after 1-2 more recruiting classes."

That's great - so anyone looking to go to PDA South, you only have to wait until U13 or U14 depending which side of the birth year you fall on to "consistently compete at a high level".

Anonymous said...

What is going on with the state cup? Looks like 3 of the 4 quarterfinal games are set for this weekend, but one of the games is not. Did Middletown ever play their round of 32 game? Otherwise, do Bergen Bulldogs just advance to the semis? All the other matches look like they should be great games with no clear winner in any of them. Fun, challenging soccer which is what it should be all about

Anonymous said...

The NJYSA site is updated, Middletown won 5-0

Anonymous said...

October 19, 2015 @ 9:25....... The game of the weekend I think from following the EDP Central rankings has to be Vorhees v. Marlboro. Both teams tied 1-1 last time they met up. Good luck to both...

Anonymous said...

Semi finals will be:

Middletown vs Voorhees

SDFC vs Zizou

All four games this weekend are mismatches.

Anonymous said...

Something is up with Voorhees. According to the Bulldogs they had only two subs. Their Got Soccer shows more players then 13. Anyone know whats going on?

Anonymous said...

Supposedly they have several girls who are hurt.

Anonymous said...

If your not on the team why do u care. People are so worried about everyone else rather then there own kids. Voorhees is fine didn't they beat Bulldogs 3-1 so it didnt matter how many kids they were missing!!!!!

Anonymous said...

It appears that Voorhees is good enough to beat Bulldogs and PDA Shore with only two subs.

Anonymous said...

Someone hit a nerve. Relax Voorhees parent, looks like someone was just wondering. Rare to have a 11v11 team show with just 13 players... And with Voorhees having a player leave a few weeks ago, people wonder.

Anonymous said...

Player movement for U12 and up is going to be constant as players and or parents look for the right situation whether for better training, better facilities or just for the name.

Anonymous said...

Real NJ Madrid is a great team. They can beat SDFC. They beat Zizou 1-0 last week and have been winning everywhere

Anonymous said...

According to Bulldogs, Voorhees also had more left footed players than what's posted in Gotsoccer. Hmmmm, I wonder ...

Anonymous said...

I heard the rumor about the left footed players as well!! I also heard more rumors, Jimmy Hoffa is actually alive and sharing a nice two bedroom loft in Soho with Elvis.

Anonymous said...

And there it is didn't take long for Voorhees to come back out in the fold again. Over rated team that is just winning games. This is the last year for them and if they stay together good for them but they wouldn't be able to handle teams. Every year they r taking steps backwards.

Anonymous said...

Not sure how you define "winning everywhere"? Everywhere but the tournament over Columbus Day? Looks like Real dropped 2 of 3...

Anonymous said...

Rumor has it that middletown borrowed some players for their cup game. They only have 12 on their regular roster but had more for the game. No secondary passes allowed though, tsk, tsk. Conveniently their roster is no longer available on gotsoccer

Anonymous said...

Dear jackass, Middletown has 12 players and only had 12 players for their cup game vs Bergen(the old Sparta). Great job trying to stir the pot though.

Anonymous said...

Voorhees has to worry about players one of the kids was at PDA south the other night. They said they are losing 2 more before spring season.

Anonymous said...

So let's recap the 2 latest tumors:
Sources out of Bergen who scored 1 and gave up 8 against 2 teams with 12/13 player rosters is that Middletown sneaks in guests.
Sources out of PDA Barcelona (EDP: 0-1-4) is that Voorhees is falling apart.
Sounds like a great opportunity to pull talent out of 2 over rated cheating/floundering town teams.

Anonymous said...

Does anyone know if Voorhees drops one of the "o's" in their name depending on the size of their roster, hence the reason we keep seeing it spelled "Vorhees" by at least one blogger? Maybe that's the mystery behind the various spellings.

Anonymous said...

Voorhees Township is a township in Camden County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the township's population was 29,131,[9][10][11] reflecting an increase of 1,005 (+3.6%) from the 28,126 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 3,567 (+14.5%) from the 24,559 counted in the 1990 Census.[20] Voorhees is a New Jersey suburb in the Greater Philadelphia Metropolitan Area. Census indicated they have great soccer players. LOL

Anonymous said...

9:18, that is the most informative info I have ever read on this blog.

Anonymous said...

SDFC is going to easily win the match vs REAL. Just the way it is. SDFC is the best team at this age in NJ hands down. They will win the final quite easily.
Most of vorhees roster probably isnt from vorhees. Vorhees does have a good program and a few quality teams.
Town teams don't tend to succeed in the long term for many reasons but usually because parents have too much access and power.
At PDA people leave because they don't have power and don't like that their kid isn't special anymore. They don't leave because the training is crap or name or whatever else.
This time is fleeting and most of these kids aren't playing anything beyond high school even if they stay with soccer. Some will play other sports and move on. Make sure their grades are decent and enjoy this time whether your kid is the best on a town team or the worst on a club team. Make sure they are having fun and developing. if they aren't then something is wrong. And the wrong thing is probably the parent and their own goals and ambitions.
In a few years you all will be losing to one of the PDA teams anyway. Might as well get your kid over there while you still can.

Anonymous said...

Voorhees and Middletown are fine, did you ever think some of the other teams just got better? This is sad.

Anonymous said...

Middletown and Vorhees can't draw the talent that the club teams can. What it comes down to. They are still really good.

Anonymous said...

10:32 is right, SDFC "should" easily beat Real like they did last year. They "should" also roll to the title. They just beat Voorhees 3-1 so they're probably the best team left in the tourney. But you never know and that's why they play the games.

Anonymous said...

So tired of hearing about Borehees. Who even cares.

Anonymous said...

Please start an fascinating conversation about girls youth soccer so we can enjoy.

Anonymous said...

Any update on calendar year implementation at NPL or ECNL? EDP is still evaluating. Do the academies have a stated position yet? This going to be effective 8/2016 or 8/2017?

Anonymous said...

Thought the calendar year mandate was for fall 2016. I didn't think there was choice unless I missed something.

Anonymous said...

Are the schedules for Qfinal state cup games posted anywhere? Would be nice to see some of these games. BBSC at Middletown tomorrow night.

BTW SDFC is by far the best team left in the field. They are the only team that has technical ability at most positions and play with a purpose. All other teams predominantly kick and run. I'm not saying SDFC will win, but from what I have seen this year, they are by far the best team.

Anonymous said...

You are mistaken that everyone other than SDFC plays kick and run, that is just an ignorant comment.

Anonymous said...

Calendar mandate by USSF is 8/2017. Individual leagues can institute earlier if they would like.

Anonymous said...

Hopefully all four quarter finals games are well played and let the best teams move onto the semi-finals.

Anonymous said...

SDFC is a solid, well coached team. They clearly had Voorhees number in Hammonton yet just got by Harrison 1-0. There is still a lot of parity and game results vary day-day/week-week. I have yet to see any team consistently dominate the U12 field. Don't rule out REAL. They can be a spoiler. As to the kick-n-run comment, very few elite level SJ teams play that style. Most train and play possession ball. With the clock ticking and results on the line then yes some teams resort to a more desperate style of play. Rarely is that promoted or taught. That applies to both academy and town.

Anonymous said...

Calendar year mandate was adopted by US Clubs effective 8/16 for all leagues that card through US Clubs. Has NJYS indicated what they are doing?

Anonymous said...

All hail SDFC, the only team in NJ that plays possession and not kick and run.

sick of it said...

Thanks Lou from vorhees and Brian from real you too should date and merge your elite teams nobody cares daddy

Anonymous said...

Hey "Sick of It', don't forget Andrew from PDA South.

Anonymous said...

2:10 - That's so cool calling people out and then signing your name "sick of it". Way to go tough guy/girl.

Anonymous said...

All of you crappy South Jersey teams keep arguing with each other while the best teams in the state up North keep beating all of you.

SDFC rules!

Anonymous said...

No offense to your teams but its rare to see an entire team play quality technical soccer at this age. There's just not enough talent and commitment in one area. Don't hate, its just a function of your player pool. When the better players from each team come together on select teams, id2, regional/national teams, etc. you see how the game should be played. Even then the quality is questionable. Go watch an ECNL game and you'll see the difference. Whatever your kid is doing now with their club or town team is garbage. IMO SDFC and maybe Lyon are only teams coming close to playing good soccer.

You're only as strong as your weakest player.

Anonymous said...

Drink much of the SDFC kool aid? Didn't they come in 4th in their league last spring?

Anonymous said...

SDFC is not even close to Lyon's level of play. Please don't try and lump your team in with Lyon.

Anonymous said...

Lou says vorhees is brian says real is bbc on a cracker says eat up?

Anonymous said...

Lyon is great haters

Anonymous said...

oh, and Andrew says PDA South is, Polly want a cracker?

Anonymous said...

Player development should still matter right now. If you are practicing and playing soccer in the wrong manner, it hurts the players. If you are interested in developing players the league season shouldn't need to be all wins. Tournament play and cup play should include attempts at winning. But also include trying to win while playing high quality soccer. Not just winning with athletes but winning with a team. Most of the good to very good teams are stacked with quality players from top to bottom. The clubs that have real weakness on the bench are clubs that are not developing players but are replacing players. When your kid looks back at their soccer years, is it going to be a bunch of quality, learning, fun memories or are they going to need therapy.
A good coach and club will not ask your kid to plat crap soccer for the sake of winning. They will ask a team to play quality soccer and learn.

Practice doesn't make perfect. Perfect practice makes perfect.

Thanks 343 rainmaker

1. Why are you looking at other teams rosters? I am sure no one is cheating.
2. Why is it a bad thing to have a good group of teams in NJ for your daughter to compete against?
3. It all changes next year, nothing happening now will matter, enjoy your daughter.

Anonymous said...

Lyon is amazing, we've heard that plenty. If they are as talented as this blog would suggest, why is it that they can't play 1st Division EDP at u13?

Anonymous said...

I don't know why Lyon is even discussed on here. Lyon hasn't played any of our teams this fall so there is no point of comparison, yet we are constantly reminded that they are far superior. It is tiresome.

Looking at numbers on EDP Standings and it looks like Real Madrid has the chance to clinch the bracket. 1 less played game from Voorhees and only 2 points behind. Looking ahead, Voorhees has 1 easy match and 1 strong opponent (Fusion) left while Real has 2 easy matches and 1 strong opponent (PDA Shore) left. Will really be an interesting finish.
Also, while stalking the 2 teams rosters looks like Reals 2003 girls are the meat of the team, straight up the middle, while Voorhees 2004 girls are the meat of their roster.... For the up coming "new birth year changes" looks likes they should do player-exchange system and create two hefty teams!!

Anonymous said...

@130, isnt pda barcelona in the 2nd division? what are they in the 3rd?

I have a question regarding the PDA teams.
I was almost certain that PDA Strikers was U11 A team and the Sounders were the U11 B team ...yet GotSoccer has the Strikers listed as u12. Are they now the u12 A team? I'm confused bc I thought we were playing U12 teams, not U11 (although I know they play up), its just confusing. So there are 6 U12 teams??

Also, next year with the new rules ... will the U11/U12 girls playing 11v11 have to go and play 9v9? I don't understand how it works with the repeat of the age group change (All 2004s will be U12 again).

Please explain! Thanks~

Anonymous said...

PDA strikers has to be coded a u-12 team cause they have u-12 age kids on there team.. You have to play to the age of the oldest kid on the team that is y they r u12 now and not u11.. That's y they did so good at there age they had older kids just got caught doing it.

Anonymous said...

Strikers are a u11 team that started playing up a couple of years ago, as they play up in u12 edp, they added a new gk that is a u12 therefore technically they are a u12 team because of the one player. The rest of the team are 04, 05 and a couple of 06 players too. The other girls that played are guests from the Zizou, as they are in the same club they are allowed to play. Next year the go will move to age group and they will be the u11 team again

If sdfc won today they are not the ones posting that it is a weak tournament and not the state cup. Having played sdfc, I can say that the parents on that team are the same as on every other team- in all my years as a soccer parent I have never been to a game where ALL of the parents on both sides weren't way too into the game, screaming and cheering. So yes the sdfc parents are crazy but so Are we all. And if you claim you aren't, you are lying.

Anonymous said...

obviously if they WON they are posting it's weak.... They are just skating through Duhhhh

Anonymous said...

Real had to win one game against a very weak town team to make it to the quarters in this tournamanet. Is this really a big accomplishment?

Anonymous said...

@7:57 same thing for Voorhees and SDFC. Sounds like luck of the draw in a lottery Soccer Genius

I heard they will have 8 staying from current team, all very good and most of them starters, according to u13 blog. That leaves 3 open spots potentially and one being the goalie, which I assume takes one. They will also have second team girls as well as outsiders coming in. Pretty scary times for some during the transition. Sdfc, MF or WC may be nice options as a fall back. This is when you really want an 2004.

Middletown over Voorhees 2-1
SDFC over PDA 3-0

has sdfc ever played their current u13 team? They are a very good team too and should make a good mix next year. Not many clubs have strong teams at both age groups.

@ 1:05 Please explain why you want a 2004. What does it matter what year your child is born?

Middletown over Voorhees 2-1? Middletown had trouble with PDA South's U11 Milan team last week and only beat Bergen by 1 goal... Come on, Voorhees will smoke them.

I'm starting to think that 2:06 is the same person who keeps trolling every team on this site. I think she has a daughter that has played for about 6 different teams now and currently plays for MatchFit. She is by far the biggest gossip queen around and her life totally revolves around girls youth soccer. Come on mom, give it a break, don't be pissed at every SJ club that has cut your daughter, just be happy that she's on a team with a good name - not a good team but a good name.

Someone asks for predictions, someone else gives their opinion and you complain about it. FYI...Voorhees beat Bergen 3-1, so it's not like they ran them out of the building, plus they are 11 & 12, anything can happen.

How did Vorhees play against Marlboro?

Anonymous said...

Voorhees is about to loose a few more kids. They can win all they want now but some spring it isn't looking to pretty for them.

I think right now Voorhees will focus on the upcoming games so they don't "loose" to Middletown.

And can the moron who still spells Voorhees wrong absorb anything? Even my 5 year old will correct themselves after seeing the word spelled correctly. You have spelled it wrong for 2 years straight. Thank God for the academies so you can spell PDA and SDFC correctly.

"Vorhees" is "loosing" players? Someone has inside information or spreading rumors. Spring is a long time away. A lot can happen. There will be plenty of players moving onto different teams. This is the age that starts the constant player movement.

Well there was a Voorhees player at PDA last week trying to get on the team. We didn't take her but she said another girl is leaving the team and 2 players were moving out of state. Trouble in Voorhees land ahead is coming.

To all the Xtreme players... Keep it up! Undefeated in EDP league so far this season... Must be doing something right!

Anonymous said...

Based on the records of all three PDA teams in the EDP Central division I would assume the teams are constantly having players coming out. They need to really try to improve their squads for the spring season.

Voorhees is a very good team and will continue to be a very good team. There will be turnover in the youth soccer world for many reasons. This year and every year.

Don't know what spring will bring until it is here.

Next thing you know, it will be tryout time again. That season starts about 6 months from now.

The Voorhees team should put themselves on eBay for the state clubs to bid on them! They truly have elite players for every position. They have great forwards, midfielders, and defenders. Anyone want their team to go from last to first???? Ummm PDA... Get these girls...

Could it be that the PDA "D" team doesn't know talent if it smacked them in the face.

Div 1--C--open contest still but I think Voorhees wins on head to head tiebreaker over Real
Div 1--S--HMMS
Div 2--N--WORLD CLASS FC LA ROJA on head to head tiebreaker over CFC
Div 2--C--Harrison in a runaway...say hello 1st division in the spring.

If Voorhees goes to PDA South, 75% of the current PDA South girls lose their position and end up on the B team

Anonymous said...

PDA south is already a "D" team. Much worse than a "B" team.

The ECNL team will probably pull from Voorhees before they pull from PDA south.

3:19 - If Real wins out, they will have 21 points. The most Voorhees can get is 20

Voorhees has a great trainer , I wish them much success .

Good luck to all this weekend. A few EDP flights should be finalized by Sunday.

Anonymous said...

PDA ECNL doesn't need to pull from a south club or town. There is plenty of talent in the north already.

The competition is going to be a lot tougher in divisions higher than n U13 D2.

Bethesda Brackets are out.
South shore and Vorhees in same half of top bracket. SDFC and Braddock Road in other top half...... Guessing a south shore v BRYC final.

SDFC have met BRYC twice first was a 1-1 tie at 8v8 then a BRYC win 2-1 at 11v11. Both play a similar style, possesion and good movement. Braddock lost in PKs in wags top flight final.

Should be a good one
