VIEWER REQUEST! U11G U11 Girls Youth Soccer

U11 girls' teams are facing the 11 v. 11 playing field for the first time. This is a time when players develop a true love for the game and the focus is a little more intense, on the field and on the sidelines...

How did Vorhees v SDFC pan out. Still looks like 2nd place on down not finalized in the 8v8 1st EDP division.
Good competition this fall in this division for sure!

Anonymous said...

Voorhees v SDFC was not played due to weather.

Anonymous said...

11/6, 10:29...

Are you stupid, ignorant or both?

You say that about Voorhees when they had only played 4 games. What's your opinion now? They're in second with one game still to play.

And no, I'm not a Voorhees parent

Anonymous said...

@8:35. Totally agree. Must be a PDA parent. Surprised they aren't on here boasting about their win over U12 NJX.

Anonymous said...

Voorhees v SDFC was cancelled due to the weather? Was there too much sun?

Anonymous said...

10 goals in 6 games against average teams. That's nothing to brag about. Beat world class then we'll talk.

Anonymous said...

Ok, you just answered my question...you're definitely stupid.

World Class, SDFC and NJ Crush are "average teams"? Ok pal

Btw, they lost 2-1 at World Class and tied NJ Crush 1-1. Those scores are sooooooo lopsided, I can see how you made your unintelligent statement. They still have a game left against SDFC.

Anonymous said...

I hope your children don't see you act this way. They are children. 10-11. That's what's average. Geez these kids are developing at this age. Anyone can beat anyone at any given time. You all act like your kids are going to the Olympics someday. Chill out. Sad part is I hear this crap on the sidelines allllllll the time. It's disgusting how parents talk about other people's kids and those kids hear it. Grow up folks. This is why kids quit or in your words are "average" because they hear it and think they will never succeed. How about everyone throw some positive comments out there instead of putting little kids down. Pathetic.......

Anonymous said...

Like I said beat world class.

Anonymous said...

This forum is a bad reality show. You know it is garbage but it can be hard to look away.

Anonymous said...

Regardless of the perceived level of competition 50 goals+ scored and 0 allowed is ridiculous for PDA Lyon.

You have to remember teams like Vorhees and SDFC will only dilute their concentration of talent when they get to 11 v 11 but PDA seems to accelerated their concentration of talent - so to say - by just pulverizing teams on huge fields.

Anonymous said...

Stop it, there is literally no competition in that division. That is such a joke

Anonymous said...

There is no competition in this age group period.

Anonymous said...

There might not be enough competition for you, but if you're a 10/11 year old girl, there's plenty. The problem is the 8v8/11v11 transition. In EDP, only a small percentage of teams have decided to move to the big field in U11, most have decided to stay 8v8. With such few teams in the two 11v11 divisions, it might have benefitted to have only 1 division consisting of 9 teams. This way a team gets rolled by PDA only once and the rest of the division can benefit from the different competition.

It will be interesting to see which 8v8 teams decide to go big field next year - or maybe even next season.

Anonymous said...

PDA Lyon is very very deep. The absolute last best forward/midfielder on the roster could be the best goal scorer on Vorhees for instance. Not one single player on SDFC will come to tryouts and then start for Lyon at U12.

Anonymous said...

I really hope this is not a real PDA parent. If it is, I have a good feeling for who it is. I am a real PDA parent and think we are good, but so are many other teams. Crush, sdfc, and vorthees are all very strong too. Vorhees for being a real town team is awesome. We were beat last year by breakers and have not played many very strong teams yet from other regions. The Midwest teams are usually very big and strong and I'm sure we will see that soon. There are several girls on sdfc that could come and take starting positions on PDA - some people don't understand the game.

Anonymous said...

Also a PDA parent here. I was in bed by 10 so it wasn't me. No way would a PDA parent post that. We know our team is good but also know it's a long journey. Please understand that we do not go on here and brag. It's being done by a bunch of trolls.

Anonymous said...

Does pda take many outside players, or do they
pull from their b teams?

Anonymous said...

Yes. Tryouts in the spring. Last year they had about 50. All are welcome.

Anonymous said...

IThe transition from 8v8 ( small sided) to 11v11 larger field is huge adjustment. This a a huge reason there is not much competition at 11v11. They are in transition they are 10/11 yr old girls learning new positions on a bigger field some w new coaches & new teammates. My daughter plays for a PDA team (not Lyon). Lyon is a top notch team but reality is....they have a year under their belt of playing 11v11. They played up last year. Honestly, I give their coach credit. He got them ready early.

Anonymous said...

7:25 & 8:10 is the same PDA parent that has been on here for a while & we know who he/she is because you are always talking about this website../

Anonymous said...

Whoever it is they seem to know a lot about other teams in the age group. Get a life.

Anonymous said...

The one PDA Lyon parent polluting the blog is a well known troll. His daughter is a good player and a nice girl, it's too bad she has such an ahole for a Dad.

Anonymous said...

@958
I was the the 725 poster and was my first and I didn't post the other one. They were both fine, what is your issue? I have a feeling what it is, you troll.

Do you even know what a website is?

Anonymous said...

Anyone know who won in the Bethesda Tournament?

Anonymous said...

Yes, you did. Nothing worse than a comment like this. Did you just get home? My prediction is that you end up 4th in edp bracket, lucky the top 3 didn't show up. I think I will root for PDA if they ever play you, never thought I would.... Go sdfc.

Anonymous said...

Three guest players on Vorhees in Maryland.

Anonymous said...

I would take PDA -7 against vorhees.

Anonymous said...

Voorhees won Bethesda....Three guest players for Voorhees this weekend?? Who where the three, just curious since my daughter plays for Xtreme. We had one guest player who was a 9 year old from a u10 team. She was a defender. She replaced our very tall defender who could not make it this weekend. We had our rematch from Spirit United with Lower Merion for the final. The better team one. Not like the spirit tourney that went to PKs. Lower Merion is a great team their record proves that. They will win some and we will win some. Nationally ranked top 20 teams will spar back and fourth. We look forward to seeing them at Jeff Cup. Bring on the haters about Voorhees. Last 12 months Jeff Cup champs, NJ State Cup Champs, finalists at Spirit and Champions in Bethesda. Not bad for a town team...

Anonymous said...

If you already have a full roster, why would you need a 9 year old to replace your best defender? The coach doesn't trust his bench players? Hope the rest of the team isn't reading this blog.

Anonymous said...

Obviously 5:48 doesn't know much about soccer. Did you ever stop to think maybe the girl is good enough to play with older girls and maybe they are going 11v11 in the fall next year and are looking to add? I know I would allow a strong guest player to see if they mesh well with my girls and can handle the pressure of older teams if I wanted to take her on. "Common sense isn't so common anymore"

Anonymous said...

To 9:14. Please stop with the top 20 in the nation talk. You're embarrassing yourself. I'll give you top 20 in the region. Go chase some more points.

Anonymous said...

@914 - please learn how to write before you respond again.

Anonymous said...

Juz likes all you peoples on dis here blog iz never graduated from high schools. How abouts you play some good teams then you can how do you say pop off. You be just average. Wher do I find spell check on this site!

Anonymous said...

Gooooooo. Vorhees . We are 2nd raked team in the nation. Oh yeah.

Anonymous said...

Congrats to Voorhees, #2 in the nation is awesome. Glad to see someone believes GotSoccer

Anonymous said...

Don't you people know PDA Lyon is the greatest team in the history of youth sports? No matter what happens, we're PDA!

Anonymous said...

I'm a PDA parent and the last comment made was just ignorant & makes us all look stuck up & cocky. Any team can get beat on any given day. Give the other teams credit where credit is due.

Anonymous said...

Season is over!!!

Anonymous said...

Season may be over but history is not. Next season is another season. again if this is the same PDA parent you are showing how arrogant you are. Just go out on the field and support the kids . Plain & simple. As a PDA parent one to another our season is never over. We play year round. Jags, edp, outdoor tourneys maybe over til spring but it's never over.

Anonymous said...

I think we all know these comments were not made from a PDA parent. Anyone can go on here and make ridiculous statements. Anyone can bash any club without being held responsible. From here on out if you have something negative to say about PDA or any other club put your name behind it. Have a good holiday and see you in the spring.

Anonymous said...

Your posting anonymous as well...I don't have to post my name to prove I am a PDA parent nor post a picture of my daughter in her PDA uniform to prove I am a PDA parent. The point is you are giving us (Pda parents) a bad rep the way you speak about other teams & brag & boast. I'm sure I'll see you at our 24 hr soccer marathon that runs both at the north facility & at the shore. You just keep proving how ridiculous you are. Once again support ALL the girls they are 10/11 yrs old.

Anonymous said...

At 9:47. I'm on your side you freaking idiot.

Anonymous said...

Does anyone know if JAGS was played this fall in this age group? I heard some teams were playing, but I haven't been able to find any results.

Anonymous said...

JAGS was played. They are having major issues trying to get the results and schedules updated on got soccer.

Anonymous said...

Don't these people in ferguson realize they are representing the black race. Obama got what he wanted. Another reason this guy should resign. This country is a joke.

Can anyone shed some light on me in regards IGFA? Tryouts are coming up for U11 Girls and may be interested in going to take a look. I honestly don't know much about this club/team. Thanks.

Anonymous said...

I can't speak for GFA but I can tell you TSF had tryouts last night and several GFA u-11 and u-12 were there, it was a good turn out.

Anonymous said...

May I ask where is TSF?

Anonymous said...

834 did you attend the tryout ? Or just heard about it ?

Anonymous said...

Who has tryouts in December? Time to retool?

Anonymous said...

It's for kids who still play with their current team , whatever it is, and want supplemental practice and play with an addtl team

Anonymous said...

Do any of the ECNL teams offer a winter or summer camp? If so, is it worth the money? Thanks if anyone knows

Anonymous said...

Oh wow, I didn't know it was for supplemental training - I thought it was for the spring season after reading about the tournaments they want to play in ... now I wish we would have gone! Will there be more tryouts? Or was today it?

Anonymous said...

Can anyone recommend u8 girls tournaments in NJ that are NOT on Memorial Day? I'm new to this and since this is the youngest group, I thought you could provide advice. April and May ideally.

Thanks

Anonymous said...

I can't name one from personal experience, but you can go to "gotsoccer.com" and click on tournaments to see what you think works best for your team.

Anonymous said...

To october 5 644pm. It is a lack of organization

Anonymous said...

to 12/5, 4:15, Lincoln Park runs a one day spring tournament that includes U8s.

Great soccer weather

Anonymous said...

Over 60 teams at Jeff cup, went two years ago and I thought it was bad, I think it's getting to big and becoming all about money. Hope you get nice fields, refs, hotels and put in the right flight,.... What I enjoyed the most, was the drive through Washington dc region, almost 9 hours total. At the time I was told how prestigious it was for our team to be selected, I look back and laugh at myself. I think I would rather give pda the money and hang local this spring. Pray that you don't go and play the same NJ teams you always do, this happens often and should be rule number one for tournament directors not to do.

Anonymous said...

Just saw the schedule and vorhees is playing crush. Sdfc in the same bracket too. Lol.

Anonymous said...

Can you post link to schedule? I don't see brackets or schedule yet.

Anonymous said...

Schedule is not out yet won't be out till mid February

Anonymous said...

There are a lot Betters teams at Jeff cup the PDA...its a 5 hr drive what r u talking about 9 hrs sounds like ur bitter or just trying to start crab cause the blog has been quite there sunshine

Anonymous said...

4:50. Are you drunk?

Anonymous said...

Just saw the Jefferson Cup accepted teams. All the same top tier teams. World Class, Lower Merion, Breakers, etc. 11 of the top 25 Got Soccer teams in U11 are accepted and going I would assume. This will be the same situation these teams will face for the next few years. This is what true travel soccer is all about. Go to tourneys and try to get as many points as you can. Sad to say but thats it. Just wait a few years when the showcases start, that's the real pressure!

Anonymous said...

There should only be two teams from NJ in top flight. GS shouldn't count - some teams play twice as many events. I'm guessing vorhees and sdfc?

Anonymous said...

@450? How do you know what teams are going to pda? It's a 6 hour drive without any traffic, 5 is impossible. considering the major cities you drive through, plan on 8. No bs - it took us 8.5 last year. I agree Jeff cup should be the best, concerned they are getting to big.

Anonymous said...

Driving 8 hours to play 3 maybe 4 games at this age is a waste of time and money. It's all a money grab.

Anonymous said...

I don't know why anyone cares that NJ teams want to travel to Virginia (or any other state) for a soccer tournament. Aside from gas and time in the car, the cost is no different than any other tournament.

Anonymous said...

I have a question, is njx going back this year for their last beating?50

Anonymous said...

Does NJX even have a u11 team? I don't follow the "humor"? And what is 50? They should have a breathalyzer hooked up to the keyboards on this blog.

Anonymous said...

Why does it matter where OTHER teams are playing or how LONG their drives are? Do you want to be a part of their team? How about you worry about yourself for once.

Anonymous said...

It's a blog u idiot - this is what you do.
Some people have experience and want to share - good and bad. If I bought a shitty car and you were on a car blog - would you want to know?
Is this your first child playing and first time on blog.
How about this - the Manhattan tournament is bad too, weather always sucks, good chance of being cancelled and the kids are miserable playing. Does this offend you too?

Anonymous said...

Blog? It's more like BLAH........you idiots talk about the same thing over and over and over. No wonder why they keep deleting comments on here. So we don't have to read the same comment over and over and over again.

Anonymous said...

I thought we just come on here just to read about PDA Lyon?

Anonymous said...

I thought the BLOG was for how many ways people can misspell Voorhees.

Anonymous said...

LOL @at 9:31 AM. Funniest blog comment of the year, so far.

Anonymous said...

The idiots are back. Not 2 weeks into the new year and they still can't stop thinking about PDA and how to bash them. Can we at least wait til the season starts in 3 months.

Anonymous said...

I agree with the 2:31 post. Everyone needs a villan. That obviously is the Lyon team. Until you beat them stop talking about them. I'm sure they feed off that. I've seen them play and currently no one can touch them in the state. So let's all worry about our own teams and stop saying negative things about them or anyone else.

Anonymous said...

I don't see anyone "bashing" Lyon. Great team, great club. Its just the 1 idiot Lyon parent who posts all the time we all can't stand (including parents from his own club).

Anonymous said...

Agree 100 percent and yes I'm from pda

Anonymous said...

Why don't you call the PDA parent out on here? Other clubs do it.

Anonymous said...

I don't know who it is - they just need to shut up.

Anonymous said...

I realize this is a u11 blog, but any recommendations for my daughter who will be u11 next year? STA? SDFC?

Anonymous said...

It is on and on and on and on about PDA teams on every age group on this blog.

As far as Manhattan Tourney weather goes...IMO warmly dressed kids are just fine playing outside if it is cold/windy. My girls are out playing school yard recess/afterschool soccer all winter. They only complain when the school says they cant go outside. It is not fun for the spectators however.

Anonymous said...

Hat and gloves with some grip for throw ins are critical. Single or double underarmor on arms and legs depending on temperature. Warm jacket and blanket for the bench.

One player on my kid's team had warm apple cider in a thermos this fall...I am going try that next cold game.

The rest of the flight will be posted on the Jeff Cup website Monday

Anonymous said...

Looking at the bracket above some of the EDP teams are playing 11v11. I like that idea. Might as well start now since they all will be playing that way come fall. Not sure I would pick Jeff Cup to start but, go for it! Knowing what I know about Bracket A U11 8v8 Voorhees should be able to cruise thru. Lower Merion is one of their biggest rivals but I think Voorhees will pull it out again. Voorhees is gunning for World Class. Lost to them this fall and it did not go well on that team. Can't wait to see what some of these teams do come September. Bigger teams adding players, who from what team will jump ship? Who is going to Academy teams....

Anonymous said...

None of them are going to academy teams since there are no girls "academy teams" in New Jersey.

Voorhees will do well because they are a very good team but they won't "cruise" through anything. What do you know about the Charlotte or Cleveland teams that lead you to believe that? Trust me when I tell you that those two clubs are way more respected and successful than 99% of the clubs from NJ.

Anonymous said...

7:08AM, who said anything about "all girls academy" I was referring to players moving to academy teams like PDA, Barron's etc. Players seeking more training, and options then town teams can offer. Second question, cruising thru the competition in regards to Voorhees, I simply looked up their ranking on got soccer.com, reviewed who they played and their record and I formed my "opinion" that way. If you have a better formula to form a conclusion, please share with the blog. My daughter has played against Voorhees for two years, the team is extremely strong. I wish them luck, and hope they play state cup this year so we can play again and try to beat them! I know they have a new trainer this year.

Anonymous said...

Yeah new trainer

Anonymous said...

Does anyone know when manhatten accepted teams are posted?

Anonymous said...

Sorry manhattan with an a

Anonymous said...

Three jersey teams in same bracket, same group - at Jeff cup. Long way to go to play each other. Thinking twice about play 11v11?

Anonymous said...

It's only because there is only one 11v11 flight. 99% of the country is small sided at U11. There are seven 8v8 flights at U11

Anonymous said...

Turn the page

Anonymous said...

What 3 nj teams are in the same bracket cause I didn't see it....the 11v11 brack all 3 nj teams are in different brackets

Anonymous said...

They changed the bracket - someone probably complained and rightly so. Weak bracket at u12 for 11v11.
Easy points for sdfc because IGFA isnt playing...

Anonymous said...

My daughter's team plays both 8 v 8 and 11 v 11. I personally like the 11 v 11 game better, however, the competition is better at 8 v 8. Should be really fun once all the teams go 11 v 11

Anonymous said...

EDP Spring Flights posted.
http://events.gotsport.com/events/Default.aspx?EventID=43269

Anonymous said...

Another great job by EDP to schedule the first weekend of league play during Jeff Cup weekend. More then half the teams will be away, more make-up headaches!!

Anonymous said...

Liverpool Elite is the number one ranked u11 girls team out of Texas. Most of the girls on that team, or for that matter teams in Texas period, have been playing 11v11 for over two years now. Will be interesting to see how the East coast teams match up against them. That team is a juggernaut.

Anonymous said...

Really Texas? And when are our local teams going to play them? If you are following youth soccer thy closely then you obviously have no life.

Anonymous said...

According to got soccer vorhees is better than the Texas team.

Anonymous said...

Middletown will play Liverpool at the Jefferson Cup

Anonymous said...

Got soccer is a joke. Vorhees still plays 8v8. That team would crush them. I wouldn't rank vorhees on the top 100 nationally. They may be top 10 in the state.

Anonymous said...

Anonymous said...

The teams will be playing at Jefferson cup...this is at 11:37 it's called top tournament where all the better teams go to play...I take it your team isn't that good that's y u ask a ??? Like that

Anonymous said...

If you call Middletown a top team then you're kidding yourself. Relax you're average at best and you know it. Go voorhees.

Anonymous said...

Middletown won the 11 V 11 state cup, how did Vorhees do?

Anonymous said...

Voorhees is #2 team IN THE COUNTRY.

Anonymous said...

And yet you couldn't get to the state finals for 8 v 8. Seems like maybe the rankings on got soccer are not that accurate.

Anonymous said...

Voorhees obviously does better in events that allow guest players. Don't compare the number of GotSoccer points with actual team rankings.

Anonymous said...

Let's not forget they still play 8v8. It's not real soccer.

Anonymous said...

9:58 just showed how little he/she knows about soccer.

Anonymous said...

The point is until you have 15-17 talented players and can field a solid 11 you are just average. Any team can throw out 6 good players in 8v8 and be somewhat successful. You are only as good as your weakest player.

Anonymous said...

Got Soccer rankings is a joke. PDA Lyon best team in the country. Period.

Anonymous said...

I'm pretty sure that last comment did not come from a PDA parent. Keep stirring the pot.

Anonymous said...

11x11 results in less time with the ball per player. If that is what you want for your player , play 11x11.

Anonymous said...

Let's hold off until next fall. We will see how the 8v8 teams adapt. Good luck.

Anonymous said...

Does anyone know anything about the current u10 PDA team? I am looking for a more competitive team for my daughter for next year (u11), but have heard very mixed reviews about this age group (politics, crazy parents, etc.). Any other club recommendations would be appreciated.

Anonymous said...

The current U10 team for PDA South is Milan. They are VERY good. They play right now in SJGSL in the premier U11 bracket. This team will be playing in State Cup this year but age appropriate. From what I have heard this team will be going to 11v11 this fall and is looking at joining U11 EDP league. The parents of this team are great, a majority of this team are younger sisters of current travel players. Hope this helps.

Anonymous said...

Thanks 11:02. Great information, but anything on North? I heard they are also going full-sided.

Anonymous said...

The PDA Strikers are a U-10 team team that plays U-11 out of Zeraphath. They are pretty good, little on the small side to be playing U-11.

Anonymous said...

Has anyone heard of Bergen Bulldogs? What is up with that team? Heard they were awesome.

Prediction:

SDFC vs PDA Lyon in U11 11v11 final at Manhattan.

Anonymous said...

All day long but I think Lyon will win they r big and strong...u have to beat Lyon with speed tire the big girls out they can't run for long time....I am not a Lyon parent but lyon is a very good team will be nice to see how they do against good u-11 teams instead of playing weak teams all the time and then bragging how good they are here is ur chance to beat good team Lyon lets see how u do

Anonymous said...

SDFC will win. They are the higher ranked team. Top 15 in the country. I've never seen PDA play but don't think they will win.

Anonymous said...

IMO the two teams are not comparable right now. Lyon Is better. Technically PDAs U10 team is as good as SDFC.

Anonymous said...

9:45, you are clueless and you obviously have no idea how the rankings work and just how useless they are at this age.

Anonymous said...

I love cocky PDA parents. First make it to the finals then we will see who wins. You think it's automatic. You'll be playing some better talent.

Anonymous said...

Did that retard just say they are higher ranked wow anyone that goes by got soccer ranking is a retard I will tell u that now.......

Lyon has already played SDFC Galaxy at U10 8 v 8.

5-0 drubbing and they pulled their goalie to let her run around up top.

Anonymous said...

PDA's U-10 is not beating SDFC, that is just silly.

Anonymous said...

I didn't say they would beat them, I said they were better technically, which they are. SDFC is a very good team, I just don't see them beating Lyon. Hopefully for people that care, they both get that far and play that game.

Anonymous said...

Looking for state cup match ups. Are they out or just the accepted teams list?

Anonymous said...

I don't see SDFC making it to the final

NJ Cup:

Disappointing to see so few teams participating. Yes, its unlikely any teams not registered would win it all. But I think its a great experience for girls to play teams outside their own league who they may otherwise never face. Also gives you an iea of what the soccer world is like outside your own fish bowl. And you never know, sometimes you see some upsets.

Anonymous said...

I would pick Middletown over SDFC given their experience playing 11v11. Pretty even teams. PDA should win out

Anonymous said...

How come Van Voorhees, Voorhees
Van Voorhies, Voorhies
Van Vorhies, Vorhies
Van Voorhis, Voorhis
Voorheas, Voorhease, Voorheese
Voorheez, Voorheis, Voorhes, Voorhies
Vorhees, Voorhis, Vorhes isnt playing?

Anonymous said...

Because they are an average 8v8 that doesn't want it get exposed

Anonymous said...

Sdfc never played Lyon at u10 or at any other age.

Anonymous said...

9:23, 90% of the teams at this age are 8v8 and most of these teams know each other pretty well by now. There are a ton of teams in the 8v8 tournaments, so you do have a decent change of seeing a new team in that group.

Anonymous said...

It looks like it will be Lyon for Sjeb east in the finals like to see how that games turns out....hear Sjeb has a pretty good fast striker any truth to that

Anonymous said...

"Sdfc never played Lyon at u10 or at any other age."

I stand corrected at U10 PDA Lyon beat SDFC's U11(now a U12 powerhouse) team 5-0 in 8 v 8 scrimmage at PDA. Sorry.

How comical, PDA parents who always say scrimmages mean nothing - especially when the lose one are now chirping about a scrimmage they won. The PDA sheep are so annoying.

Anonymous said...

Who beat them?

Anonymous said...

Voorhees beat them in a scrimmage

Anonymous said...

And yes my daughter was there before u say it wasn't lyon and some other team don't try and pull that card

Anonymous said...

That doesn't surprise me. They are the top team in the country. Was that last fall?

Anonymous said...

Lyon is the best team in NJ at U11, but they are not the best team in the country. Didn't they get beat pretty bad by the Boston Breakers U11s last spring?

Anonymous said...

Breakers would have been U10 at that time same a Lyon.

Everyone will need to just watch tourney and league results this Spring. All these debates will end this fall on who is the best in the state and at what age bracket. Fact, EDP U12 11v11 will be one of the strongest "leagues" in the country! Over 7 of the top 20 teams in the nation will be playing. The debate over PDA Lyon and Voorhees will be decided, and decided where it should be, on the field. A lot of new teams are joining and PDA will be playing new teams like Lower Merion, and World Class! It's up for grabs and any team can win. Going to be a great Fall season! Hoping for a nice Spring, this winter stinks!!

Can everyone relax. The bottom line is PDA is a top 5 team in the country in pretty much every group. They have been the #1 ranked girls club in the nation I believe the past 3 years. Don't beat yourselves up trying to compare your team or club to them. It's a waste of time. Let's all just worry about our own team and having a good experience with or children. Yes they do play the villain but don't give them any fuel for the fire. Good luck this spring.

How do we know how great Lyon is if they havent played anyone outside the region? Maybe they have, I'd certainly be interested in hearing. Are they playing in Jeff Cup? Do they travel to other tournaments, and if so, how did they fare? I'm sure the Lyon dad will be quick to enlighten us.

You have to watch them play and judge for yourself. There are apparently some decent teams still playing 8v8 for some reason. Not sure what the benefit is to squeeze 16 players on a small pitch. It will take them a season to adjust to the big field. Bottom line is PDA won't be challenged for another 2 years. By that time they will add another player or two from the area and be that much better. Just saying.

Got soccer has them with 20 wins 3 loses and a tie. It looks like the loses came over the summer. Not a parent so not sure if that was the same team. They did score 120 goals and only gave up 15. They are doing something right.

Anonymous said...

@6:19 PM

Was the same team. Lyon was playing up during Summer Select and was just getting started on the big field. They got used to it by the time fall season came around. NJ Cup is going to be interesting. Hope to see Lyon vs SJEB East play.

Those 3 losses and the tie were vs U12 teams, just saying.

1. Got soccer points are a joke.
2. PDA Lyon is one of the top teams in the country for U-11.
3. PDA Lyon is not unbeatable

Can we please agree on those 3 statements and move on.

Anonymous said...

Agree no one is unbeatable. Remember the 80 USA hockey team. Hey the giants beat an 18-0 patriot team. Upsets happen. Go yanks.

Anonymous said...

I agree on 2 of your 3 points, and maybe Lyon is one of the top teams in the country. All I ask is how you judge that? Have they played outside the region? They are top team in NJ no doubt. If I'm arguing with a friend in California who thinks they have the best team out there, how does one quantify who is best if no one has played each other or played the same opponents? I know PDA will continue to attract the best players in the region, more so as they get older, and many girls on this team won't be on it down the road.

High temps of 34 next weekend in manhattan. Not counting the winds. Cancel this tourney and save us all a lot of money.

"Real feel" in the 20's. 60% chance of snow on saturday

Anonymous said...

Global warming, er, Climate Change, is making these early March tournaments unfeasible. Move 'em to June!

Anonymous said...

Is anyone familiar with PDA shore located in tomsriver Nj

Anonymous said...

Stay far away from that group as they are NOT PDA but the Toms River team wearing different uniforms. Team doesn't play any different then they did as TR but you will pay more. Go watch them play & they still play rec style soccer by sending it to the fast girls up top. There are much better choices like going North to the REAL PDA.

Another useless post from the PDA Lyon troll. You certainly offer a lot of "colorful" insight. If PDA is such a great program, why would their affiliate teams be coaches so poorly, as you indicate?

Anonymous said...

Assuming they play, interesting game to start the tourney. BBSC is probably the most improved team in the state. No better measuring stick than Lyon.

Anonymous said...

Bbsc is just a ok team Lyon is gonna kill them...no I not a PDA parent I have seen both teams play watched Sjeb east beat bbsc 3-0 and it could have been more....

Anonymous said...

For all the parents who decide to pursue the ECNL route. When would you make the switch over to the ECNL club? Before the pre-ecnl starts? Or would you wait until U13-14 when they are in the ECNL league? Am I reading correctly that PDA has a U12 pre-ECNL? Can someone please explain how that works?

Manhattan KOC canceled for this weekend.

Good

"‎Teams who did not purchase the insurance will receive a 75% refund to help us cover our most basic costs."

So they schedule this tournament in early March and get cancelled every year now seemingly. Its actually seen so infrequently they should rename it the Sasquatch Classic.

Teams lose 25% of their tournament cost, as well as have their schedules impacted. Most if not all teams plan a set schedule and budget for tournaments accordingly. This tournament will continue to diminish in stature going forward in my opinion.

Saw a few post about Texas team Liverpool. Saw them play in Colorado and they are a legit team. Wont surprise me if they won Jeff Cup U11 11v11 division.

Anonymous said...

Also Voorhees have been invited to Premier Super Copa in Dallas TX in June but not yet have accepted. Here is a good chance to for them to prove they are the best or pretenders.

Why wasnt the best team in the country, PDA Lyon, invited to play?

Anonymous said...

I guess they never heard of PDA. Lmao just kidding. I guess they're going off them crazy got soccer points. Good luck vorhees. A top 10 nj 8v8 team in my book. Actually top 5.

Anonymous said...

I wonder if we'll ever get to see any of these "top" teams play each other in the spring. All this trash talk is getting boring. Save it for the field. Let's see Voorhees+NJX+SEJEB East+Lyon+World Class+Bergen Bulldogs blah blah blah get it on. I'm sure any of the "top" teams wouldn't walk away from a scrimmage right?

Anonymous said...

NJX a top team at U-11? I don't think so

Anonymous said...

Voorhees won't do the Dallas tourny it's 11v11 not 8v8 so they won't play unless they get guest player like they do for every other top tournament they play in..maybe they can play with there real team and no guest players and see if they win then..I understand guest player but not for every top event....win something with your real team then talk

Anonymous said...

I ask again, why wasnt the best team in the country, PDA Lyon, invited to play? Maybe they can take Voorhees invite?

Anonymous said...

Why travel to Texas in June? It's another money grab.

Anonymous said...

Here is my totally unbiased opinion of U11. Lyon is the best team, World Class next, Crush, SDFC, SJEB, Voorhees are all in the mix for the #3 team. There are a few other teams knocking at the door, but these 6 have consistenly proven to be the best for now.

Does anyone know anything about the current u10 PDA team? I am looking for a more competitive team for my daughter for next year (u11), but have heard very mixed reviews about this age group (politics, crazy parents, etc.). Any other club recommendations would be appreciated.

I've seen the Middletown U10 girls play and they're a pretty solid team. They play the PDA u10 Strikers straight-up. They will have to add players for 11v11 next year.

Anonymous said...

Strikers are technically very impressive for a U10 team. They are small, so I assume when they play a team like Middletown who is likey much bigger and more physical they get pushed around a bit. PDA has a tremendous program, if I lived closer and my kid could make the team, that's where she would be.

Anonymous said...

@ 12:28, I think you have a pretty decent list there. My daughters team has played 5 of the 6 teams and they are all pretty good. What teams do you think are knocking on the door?
