South Shore Select is ranked #1 in Region 1. What can you be making fun of them about???Lyon is ranked #1 in NJ and Midfletown #4.
PDA parent here that went to SJA tryouts and loved them. Looks like they are really pulling a great program together for a promising U12 fall girls team. I am going if my daughter makes the team. The coaching was involved and on point. Girls welcoming and involved. Looks to be s very challenging year soccer wise and that's what we are looking for. Good work SJA !! Wasn't sure you were going to do. Now I'm hoping to jump aboard.
10:59. You must be an SJA parent trying to promote your team. Pda is light years ahead of SJA. If your daughter plays for pda she will have no problem making that team although I don't understand why she would want to. They are a bunch of mosa players with a few skilled players. They have no style and play kick and run. The coach will tell you himself that they play a direct style (kick and run). They can not put two passes together. They will also have trouble adding any quality players in the future.
No your wrong.. I'm with PDA now and not happy coach has no personality. And I doubt any coach would say that. Believe what u want. They beat us by putting passes together.
Folks remember there are a few different PDA teams at this age. Doubt this person's daughter plays for Lyon. That coach is excellent.
12:22 in guessing your daughter plays for pda shore which is just the toms river town team with pda on the shirts. They play kick and run like SJA. My daughter has played both teams and trust me there is no passing with either of these clubs. They both boot the ball up field and never work out of the back. Why anybody would pay good money for this is beyond me. Do yourself a favor and find a club that teaches kids to play possession soccer. These kick and run teams will fade out in another year. They will have a hard time competing against properly trained teams. Don't be fooled into thinking a team is good because they win playing this style.
Good luck to the teams
I actually know the parent talking of moving to sja from PDA & they are ABSOLUTLEY RIGHT. And the club team you tAlk of that put PDA on their shirts beat academy teams time & time again including Lyon in TRFC Memorial Day tourn. Maybe if shore got what they were promised & didn't get fooled & lied to things would be different. We were a better team as a club team. Our club team did not play "kick & run". Our coaches & trainers cared about our girls. We have gone backwards. We "drank the koolaid" on this one. Hindsight is 20/20.
Looks like the pda shore experiment didn't last a year. Sounds like their are many unhappy families.
I don't think Lyon played in that tournament. Maybe Lyon Blue. If you don't understand the difference, you should not be posting about it.
No I understand the difference clearly we beat Lyon as a club team & haven't seen them since bc they are usually playing u12. The last I saw them play in a tourn at u11 was the PDA tourn. By no stretch of the imagination do I think what has happened to our team now do I think we could beat them. At the beginning of merger just about a year ago we beat Lyon blue now we lose to them. Shows a lot of progress & development????? I clearly know the difference btwn the PDA teams.
And I specifically remember a comment made by a mother on Lyon after beating them 2-1 as myself & my daughter walked past her that we would've never beat them without our goalie & the rest of our team wasn't good. My daughter was in tears. I sent her to the car & walked back & Gave this mother a piece of my mind.
11:38. Sure you did. You must get paid to bash PDA.
Yes I'm being paid to bash a club I have my kid play on that makes sense. No I'm paying and getting nothing in return THATS THE PROBLEM so if you see it as bashing PDA than call it what you want. There's plenty of great teams & coaches from PDA....we are not getting what was promised
Leave PDA Shore, Toms River had a pretty good team to begin with. People get all caught up with the name on the front of the jersey, some parents have to have their kids at PDA. PDA is not the only game in town and until people realize that, they will continue to milk you.
2:11 Did you discuss your concerns with PDA mgmt or the coach? Would think that would be the place to start. You also have the option for trying out with another team. Plenty of awesome teams in the area. If you hate PDA so much, just leave.
Does anyone know why PDA was removed from GOTSOCCER rankings, PDA Lyon and Lyon Blue?
PDA Lyon Blue is ranked 25 in NJ, I didn't see PDA Lyon
They are showing up in the U12 rankings. This always happens with PDA teams in the spring. Someone in the club must go in and roll their date forward in GotSoccer which screws their ranking up.
Yes trying discussing it w those at the top every question was answered w a question. I was like it was scripted. There's a part of me that wants to go straight to mike oneill but I'm leaving it's not worth the aggravation.
The Middletown Sonic Dynamite U-11, soon to be U-12 team is holding tryouts:Monday May 11 & Wednesday May 13 from 6:00 - 7:30 PM atFairview Fields 3 & 4. Our team competes in the EDP League, NJ State Cup, EDP Cup and many high level tournaments. For field directions and to register for tryouts, please visit: http://www.middletownsoccer.com/
PDA only cares about their top team. B & C teams are just funding the club. TRFC got screwed and now we're paying for it.
1:01 - why not form your own team, hire an excellent coach, reserve training facilities and show PDA how it's done?
6:20....you think like myself & a handful of other parents do. Problem is the core of our team is split about walking away. They are stuck on the promise, the PDA letters, the opportunities that the club will offer blah blah blah. The girls have been together for half their lives we were trying to keep them together but bc the parents are split on the decision it looks like that won't happen. But showing PDA how it's done is exactly what we want to do & plan on doing. Even if only 4 or 5 of us leave.
This takes the cake, and that is saying something.
I like cake.
How was the PDA Lyon tryout tonight?
Parents are the epitome of what's wrong withyouth sports today.
Kids team not winning or playing all that well is not solely on the program and coach. Who shows up for tryouts, development level of each player, how team gets along and supplemental training will also have a great impact on how the team is performing. Don't get me wrong, coach matters immensely but they can only do so much with the talent that shows. If you truly believe PDA is the problem, move on. Based on their tryout attendance, they have a deep pool of replacements to pick from.
Biggest problem with coaches today is that they let their desire to win impede the development of their players.
@9:40AMSo very true.
Good luck to all teams playing state cup this weekend.
SJEB East 5PDA South Barcelona 0
Barcelona will rebound we are a tight unit, our girls play better on turf .It was alot closer than score.Sjeb will play or elite team tommorow
PDA Lyon 3, Middletown 0PDA completely outplayed them. Would have been worse but M'town goalie made some nice saves.
You are a tight group alright, all 12 or 13 of you. Please stop with the score should have been closer. We should have beaten you 8-0 today.
Gotta love the humility of some of the parents on this forum!
These posts are not from PDA or sjeb parents; these comments are from a classless human being that obviously was not present for the games and is trying to get people fired up.....Pathetic!!!!!
Anyone know outcome of Voorhees vs U10 PDA team?
As good as they are technically, and as well as they are trained, no way they beat Voorhees.
Voorhees squeaked by 2-1
Go PDA Strikers! Always nice to see a team play up and do well. Congrats to both sides. 2-1 against Voorhees is a great result.
11:56. You can do all the talking you want after tomorrow's game. Make sure you get plenty of rest.
The team my daughter is on has played all the good teams other than Lyon. Very impressed by the Strikers, and they keep getting better. That is going to be a special group. They get beat playing up, but they are very technical and play the game the way it should be played. as good or better than Lyon age wise IMO.
"as good or better than Lyon age wise IMO."They were very very good in the state cup but to claim being better than Lyon may be premature because of the big field. You may not be factoring in the importance of overall team speed and goalie on the big field. As technical as you are, there is not speed everywhere on the team like there in on other of the elite, elite PDA teams. By the time you get to the big field, Coach better have found additional speed at tryouts and a US or Regional level goalie before you can say you are better than Lyon IMO.
Ok Striker parent nice team LetsJust leave it at.
@7:55 pm a special group ya ok if the fathers don't kill each other and rip apart all there teammates, talking about teammates and other parents would be a great team for dr.phil
Hard for an outsider to know about team chemistry, I was just commenting on what I see on the field. God forbid anyone compliment another team on this board.
It's funny how you all cry about Lyon! It's more of a laugh that your best players show up to our tryouts all humbled and wide eyed! Then I start crying with laughter at the fact we send your little Alex Morgan to our B team! Hysterical!
10:42 are PDA fees that much more than other clubs? They do offer financial assistance for those that can't afford the full fee. Not sure what "best team money can buy" comment comes from?Congrats to PDA Lyon. Well deserved win against some tough competition.
What was the Lyon-Barons score?
Lyon won 4-0. Barons had 3-4 shots on goal, Lyon pretty much controlled the whole game. 4 different players scored and defense was solid. Looks like they had a more difficult time with Middletown yesterday.
What was Middletown score?
Middletown looked tougher than SJEB but that team won't exist in 1-2 years. Town teams can't keep it together. Even voorhees is not the same as a year ago. Get ready for womens academies in the near future because there is money to be made.
Middletown score was 0-3 vs LyonThis team may end soon. They are posting on here for tryout info. Not to mention one of their star players has been at many MFA practices and tryouts.
Heard Lyon didn't take anyone from tryouts.
Not true about the lyonTry outs there will be somecall backs to train with theTeam next week after the thatthe decision will be made atThat time.
How many girls got call backs for Lyon and Lyon blue team? I heard only a couple.
We hope We don't have any Middletown players joining our team. Nothing against the girls, we just don't to associate with any of their parents. No class.
No money in the women's game, that is why if they do academies it will be interesting how they pay for it. The USWNT wins the cup, that movemeny may have trouble keeping momentum.
Where are the other girls from that got call back from?
Only the coach knows.
Nothing like class withlanguage like that see!!Lol.
So PDA wins the 11 V 11 state cup and all the PDA parent is worried about is what Middletown is doing?
I think it's more about Middletown parent worried if her kid made Lyon.
Why would a star player go to MFA? That makes no sense at all.
SDFC has their tryouts posted on this blog, are they in trouble?
"Why would a star player go to MFA? That makes no sense at all."1. A year from today the MFA team will be better than most in the Monmouth Ocean area. Yesterday the U13 MFA with mostly MOSA girls won the state cup.2. A year from today the Pre-ECNL team will be out of Raritan and kids from great town team will be fighting for the one or two spots available.3. Not every kid on town teams like Vorhees, Middletown or Marlboro are from those towns. They have no allegiance to that team. Just as they were recruited to leave their own town teams to join yours, it is now happening to them again because they are good.
BTW - All these supposed negative posts making PDA out to be bad people supposedly concerned about Middletown or whatever are really coming from nervous Middletown parents try to make it look that way.In my experience MFA or PDA parents care nothing about other teams. You see nothing on here about SJEB or Marlboto etc. That is because it's probably people afraid of the end coming so they bash a MFA or PDA so bad as to scare the star player from leaving. I'll bet the administrator can confirm that...
The person posting as a PDA parent is probably a PDA Lyon Blue parent upset that her child can't make Lyon so she is trying to stir the pot.
9:35. I don't think so. You're probably just a sad, angry parent who lost a state cup match this weekend. Good thing your kid didn't make PDA, otherwise you would know that Lyon and Lyon Blue parents are a tight knit bunch of good people. Might want to steer your kids to dance. There is a reality show that you would be a star on.
I want to clarify I'm not a PDA or Match fit parent. With that being said all top level jersey soccer players will eventually look to be playing for an ecnl club. That does not mean other town teams will not be competitive. If you feel your daughter has what it takes in no way will these clubs not be happy to welcome you aboard. There are 100''s of talented players in the area. Unfortunately there are only a limited amount of spots on these teams. Good luck in whatever direction you may choose.
Why so bitter PDA parent? Such anger and vile coming from you. Just know, you will be the reason your daughter doesn't succeed, you are a terrible role model. I am going to laugh my ass off in a few years when the rosters changes and you are left out in the cold.
If my daughter is happy and doing well at a non ECNL club, why should she look to move. What is the end game that only the ECNL club can provide and why is it even a thought at this age.
i love this. this is good drama. you people are all nuts!
IF your eyes are on the "prize" (not sure it really is a prize) of collegiate soccer, it will be argued that ECNL league is beneficial.
Real question, no sarcasm. Can a Town team go to the national tournaments? If so what are the benefits of playing for SJB or an other big name as opposed to a team close to home with a legitimate trainer/coach? If such a team exsits? Please don't go on a bashing rampage, just looking for real information here.
Of course they can. Bigger clubs make it easier to get in those tournaments because of the sheer number of teams they bring make them more attractive to the tournaments. PDA, MatchFit, NJ Wildcats, NJ Stallions, SDFC, Continental, lower Merion and even younger clubs like Real and NJ Rush have an advantage because they can bring several teams. It can happen at the town level though as long as the team established itself early. For instance, as long as Voorhees stays together, they will always be accepted to any tournament they apply for. The same goes for a few other town travel teams. The hard part is staying together because you'll always have the bigger clubs drawing these kids away. If your daughter gets a on a high level town travel team and enjoys it AND you're getting good training from a professional trainer, than stay put.
This is what a blog should benice info to read.Lets keep ltUp.This blog should be used foradvise not bashing.
I agree with the above poster but NJ Stallions should not be in the same category with the other clubs. The doc is a maniac and from what I heard, has been fired from every club he's worked with and from the looks of it, seems to be struggling with his current status with stallions since they only have 4 teams. They don't even have a u11 team
Funny that you say that, his reputation is over the top nuts from parents in that program. Very good older teams, but seemingly a club in decline. ECNL is the highest level of play, but not the end all be all. Also, we have no idea if the talk of structural changes with calendar year and academies is real or just talk. If your kid is an elite player they can move to one of those programs at U13 or U14, you have to be truly elite to move after that. Colleges will find you, no matter where you are as long as you don't hide.Key now is to make sure you put your kid in a good program and they have fun. Good programs at this age don't chase got soccer points and don't sacrifice growth to win.
Goal Keeper looking for a new home. Looking to play U11 or U12 EDP 11v11 next season. Does not have to be an A level team. For keepers more touches helps in the long run. She is an extremely strong player. Keeping our options open. I do not like the direction her team is heading. I know most tryouts are over but I figured I would give it a shot. South Jersey area home field would be nice. If interested just repost with an email address and I will reach out. Also, just to end any confusion she did make her team for the fall, which is a VERY high level academy team.
Would say pick a team that's convenient travel-wise for you and give them a call. Most teams are always open to evaluating dedicated goalies, regardless of official tryout schedules. Good luck to you. You mentioned South Jersey - try SJEB. They appear to be well organized.
curious on what others have to say: do you feel being on an academy team is enough to develop your daughters soccer abilities? My opinion is the academy route provides the level of competition needed & the exposure but the "work" still needs to be done on your own. This is assuming the basic ability is there and that one wants to achieve the highest level.
Couldn't agree more 12:09. Keepers in the area are few and far between. The keepers I know practice with trainers privately. Most clubs don't offer training for keepers till around U14.

12:09, agree no way to become an elite player with 3 hours of training a week. I'd guess most players are doing 2x that or more plus games. You have to watch burnout and each kid is different. Important to have some down time in the winter and summer, and especially the summer because the break from your team can be way to short. In the winter teams train together, but at this age you get 4 months away from the in season training.
And so it begins. The great town teams of U11 begin to stumbleGirls from Vorhees training w SJEB and PDA South, Girls from Middletown at MFA training,PDA training and NJ Wildcats training. Girls from Marlboro at MFA and NJ Wildcats. Bergen Bulldogs heading to NJ Crush...What town teams do your daughter's play for and what club/academies are they trying out for / training with?
And there we have it, 11:48 becomes the troll of the day to try and stir the pot. It'll get better as he starts answering himself.
11:48, there are no actual town teams on your list. Players changes clubs, who cares.
Long live town (or at least town-like) teams!
My daughter practices twice a week with her team and plays at least 1 game on the weekend and sometimes 2. She also does training one day a week outside her team. She would play everyday if she could, but we try to giver her 2 days off per week.
exactly the same, 5 days of soccer is enough. Occassionally she'll do 6.
Multiple sports has been helpful for my player. In her case LAX - lots of fitness, agility, enjoyment of learning something new with different girls. Some girls on her team also run track which is great for fitness.
i have been noticing the pattern of multiple sports in viewing the current women on the US National team. Same also applies to many male top soccer players (and others over the years). While soccer may be the primary sport the others provide the body movement, agility, fitness and hand /eye coordination that the best athletes possess.
PDA north acceptances are out.
Not to get into a PDA pissing match, but offers and some acceptances were made and accepted after the first tryout.
ok so my other post seems to have disappeared....yes i am very cognizant of burn out, i am constantly asking my daughter how she is doing and is she having fun, so far so good. We do train a lot bought with the academy team, one our own and with outside group. If she goes out and just plays with the ball i don't count that training per se....sometimes we just fool around in the kitchen but a lot of our down time is soccer related. How about the rest of you?
Can you tell us the names of the individuals you are speaking about?
It goes to show you that every club has flaws. Just go to the one you feel most comfortable with. Anywhere from PDA to a local town team. Just make sure your daughter has a good experience.
How many new girls made the team?
How many new girls made PDA?
Lyon or Lyon Blue?
How many for Lyon and how many for Lyon blue?
Not sure how many made it but they will start on Lyon Blue.
Who cares who made what team... Come fall lets see who put the best team together. Settle it where it all belongs! Many new teams entering the 11v11 EDP league. Going to be a great season..... When the so called "BIG" teams go head to head this hysterical blog/post will be a buzz. Oh, and to figure out who the BIG teams are is pointless till the fall. Everyone have a great end of season, enjoy a few weeks off. This blog is not going anywhere. The fun will begin again come September...
9:34AM...... Good point! I would like to see what the smaller teams did. Hearing rumors that many of the academy teams have been stealing trainers from the smaller teams. Offering incentives. Funny thing is, most of the academy trainers also train the smaller teams on the side for some extra beer money.
Agree with above poster. I can't say from experience but have heard many things about the club and ownership and from what I now see with their better players trying out for my daughters team, guess they are not doing anything right.
Wow, $3200? That's a lot more than most other academies. What is the coach's name?
3200 is more then PDA and Sjeb that is crazy...is Bergen a academy or town team...I know they played Sjeb east today anyone know how that game went
50% more than MFA.
SJEB won 3-0.
TSF also charges around 3200. I think that's too much.
Mf (and others) will have add ons so that cost is misleading. Pay to play tournaments. Winter extra.consider that base.
Any scores today
Middletown 1 SJEB 0
Sjeb out played Middletown...one shot on net and Sjeb should of had 4 goals just couldn't get the ball in the net that is soccer any team can win on any day congrats to Middletown.....
No need for "sour grapes" comments here...
Middletown is the better team
How is Middletown the better team one shot on goal all game...Sjeb had the ball on Middletown side more just didn't finish it happens I don't think Middletown is the better team...they have one really good player that's it and just hope she gets a goal and play the rest on defense learn the game then talk
So Barons are the better team yet couldn't score one lousy goal on the inferior team. Do you realize how bad your logic is? Just like the teams that out shoot another team 15-2 but lose 2-0 and "dominated the game". Parents are so delusional. Why was this game played anyway when Barons play 11v11 and Middletown 8v8?
I love when the team that lost claims to be better, if you were better you would have won.
Parents please relax its just a gameand on any given day you can win orLose.
when does this blog officially become U12. I wouldn't want to miss out on any of the amazing insight and game analytics!
Have most clubs given offers for next year yet? My daughters hasn't and people are antsy
Yes I know most have given out offers already. I know PDA is done.
There are some clubs that have not sent all offers. Hope it works out for you and your daughter.
2:20, I understand that. Other reason they are less is that they play less games and don't chase points.
So is there any info on player movement at PDA? Did they add any great players? How about MFA? Going forward is their southern team going to bet he ECNL or the northern groups? Did they add talent?
Nobody cares about MFA. Stop fishing for information. Worry about your own team and not others. You need the work. All your teams at this age are terrible.
The SJEB 03' West girls team is looking for a full time keeper. If interested, please contact email@example.com.Thanks
"So is there any info on player movement at PDA? Did they add any great players? How about MFA? Going forward is their southern team going to bet he ECNL or the northern groups? Did they add talent?"PDA added several players to the age group. This was the year to get in. No way they ever ADD 9-10 kids ever again to this age group in one try-out season.
You're obviously talking about PDA north right?
Never say never. If you read this blog, you would have thought PDA was set and didn't need or want anyone else. Times they are a changing.
They drop & add kids like they are seasonal employees. And just like in any club there are politics involved.
All depends on who shows up at the tryout. If a player shows up that is better than yours, well, see ya'.More and more folks are willing to make the drive.
"Never say never. If you read this blog, you would have thought PDA was set and didn't need or want anyone else. Times they are a changing."The tryouts - with over 90 girls - had some serious talent so I'm not surprised North added players.
90 kids did not show up for the south & the shore....if both those areas want to build a team like the north they shouldn't be adding & dropping kids. Let the kids start to mesh together & learn to play together. Keep some well trained coaches that want to be there & train girls at this age & see what happens
Pda south had alot of quality girls coming out for our team.We will be a btter team than we are now in fall.
7:59 seriously? I guess if you keep saying it maybe you'll start to believe it. Everybody knows what's going on at PDA south, no need to try and fool anyone.
Thought PDA north was only taking 3 new girls. How could they have taken 9-10 new?
This blog is funny. You spend most of the year bashing PDA and then get all concerned about who they added. If your daughter didn't hear by now, she didn't make the team.
Once again people are clueless. No one on this blog thinks PDA is a bad organization. They have quality teams and good coaching. Their problem is their parents, they are stuck up and delusional with little actual soccer knowledge. Maybe if the parents were a little humble, the hatred would subside.
PDA South has a couple of top players from Fenix. A few more might be added in the future.
I know a few PDA Lyon parents and they are a good group of parents. Not sure where the negative posts are coming from.
Stand on a sideline with them and you will see all you need to see.
Now it sounds like you are just upset your team loses to them. I doubt they are making comments to your team. Beat them and then maybe they won't say anything.
It has nothing to do with winning or losing. It has to do with understanding the game and being respectful that these are 11 year old girls competing. They just come off ass classless and entitled.
Well, PDA parents do spend one of the highest fees for the season. They are a bit entitled.(I know, there are much more expensive places.)Classless, neh. At the most competitive levels the adults tend to get upset if parents cheer for the other team with vigor. The adults get sensitive. A lot of the time the kids on the field couldn't care less. Or even notice. There are some exceptions to the rule but they don't paint the picture for all parents of any club.Heck, it isn't like they get a special class in how to be as obnoxious as possible on a touchline. Hehe
9:59 ok parent manager, I'm sure Lower Merion kids are just lining up to leave a top level team for PDA South.
Lol that's real funny!!! Top level toLow level.
10:55 maybe you should try rec soccer
Interesting factoid: EPYSA doesn't have 11 v 11 until u13. In the Keystone State, top players have to move from local clubs to an ECNL at U12 to get it. Typically, they do this in packs to ensure the team they’re creating is as successful as they on they left. So, over yonder, in the Birthplace-of-America, the Daughters of Ben have a long tradition of transforming those pre-pre U12 ECNLs to something dramatically better than their U11 predecessors. They care not what the track record beforehand was. It’s all about who else is coming.Whichever nearby ECNL gets the bulk of the top players from this group will be a strong contender. The first ones are headed to PDA. So, unless a calorically challenged NJ head of state blocks the Ben Franklin Bridge, this is happening. Another interesting factoid: The river they will be crossing is called the Delaware. Denial is a river in Egypt.
6:22. Maybe they can backfill the void with Middletown players. Parents would fit right in with South Philly crowd.
6:22You must be referring to PDA North as there are no ECNL teams in South Jersey nor will there ever be. South and Shore are just money grabs because some people will always believe that three or four letters will somehow make them a superstar. So no we're calling U12's "pre-pre ECNL"??? ECNL doesn't start till U14, so just relax.
ECNL in 2015/2016 is requiring their clubs to participate in ECNL events at U12 as they did with U13 this year.
Correct but ECNL teams don't start until U14.
You are correct, but I think that is splitting hairs. If ECNL clubs are designating Pre-ECNL teams at U12 and U13 and they are playing in official Jr ECNL events. I assume for PDA Lyon will be the team at these events. For MFA, not as clear as I understand they will have two teams with the Pre-ECNL designation.
When I read this blog, it's kind of like listening to charlie Browns teacher.
Will all change next year, 2016. New age change will be in effect. Half these girls will be 2004 and the others 2003. The ones with advantage in past will be at disadvantage. This will be a messy transition, but better off now then later. I have a older daughter at u14, this age group will really be effected because of college recruiting. I was told this weekend by Doc that this is happening at start of fall 2016 season.
Very talented players are not only strong because of where they fall due to an arbitrary age cut off. Changing the age cut off will effect some rosters but talent is talent and will make a great contribution to whatever team they are on. The one year window is too narrow anyway. A two year or larger window would allow for much for effective grouping of players based on ability rather than simply age. As it is now and will be in the future, with a one year grouping, very talented payers will have to continue to play up to seek a challenge and appropriate skill and speed of play level.
9:31No it isn't changing next year. Even if it did, it's only if the girls development academy gets started. Even then it would only apply to the development academy teams like it is on the boys side. So in other words at this age, PDA Lyon would change their age dates. Lyon Blue, PDA Shore and PDA South would stay with the current date structure.
Hope you guys are right. Going to be a mess. As of right now, US Club is on board with change so I assume that means all teams when they do it. I don't like it when they put soccer development ahead of kids/teams/fun, and that is what they are doing here. Kids naturally want to play with their classmates and this ends that. This age will be impacted the most. Younger ages have time to transition, and older ages are fine because physically the kids have almost all done their growing. U11-U14 is tough because there can be so much physical development in just a year. In the end it is just a game and the kids who work hard and play hard will be fine.
The cut off is arbitrary so it does not really matter where you put it. Right now, the US is not aligned with the rest of the globe. There are many advantages to getting to know kids outside of your classmates in school. Kids (and plenty of parents) could use some practice at social skills, group dynamics, etc. Plenty of girl drama i have seen could be minimized with some basic instruction and follow through about how treat other human beings.
This may be a dumb question, but I'd bet the average team at this age is half 2003, half 2004 or around there. The 2003 kids will go from U12 to U14 and not play U13. That is true for all ages, so half the kids will skip a level. What happens to the kids who will be U15 in 8th grade?
They will play U15.
Half the team will be in HS and unavailable in the fall.
They will be two teams next year - 2003 and 2004 for this age group.Nobody loses a year - just placed in you age year team. Some of the older girls may be challenged, because they will be now competing for spots against some of the best girls from current u12 teams.
Would it surprise anyone if the composition of the best teams right now, Lyon, etc is around 90% 2003 kids.
@3:44pm. It wouldn't be a surprise, it is actually the norm. That's how you win at "jungle ball", pick the oldest, biggest and strongest kids and you're set to dominate.
Lyon's biggest and best player is 2004. This board is a cesspool of lies and most posters are imbeciles - like the one who posted the question at 3:44, then his own answer at 4:05. Think about how sad you life is...
May be far less disruption than people think. My guess is most of the better teams are 80% or more 2003 kids. Some are probably 95%
Nobody said they didn't have 2004 kids, they said the roster is probably around 90% 2003. What's the big deal? It does not take away from anything they have accomplished if that is true. Team has wonderful players for this age group.
What's funny is you're wasting your time posting about SOMETHING THAT IS NOT HAPPENING!!!
This is happening. I saw that sdfc was able to beat breakers at delco, the team Lyons can not beat.
Breakers is not the team Lyon lost to, it was South Shore Select. Carry on.
Anyone can win or lose a game. SDFC should play Lyon directly, and play them a few times too.
632 - this will happen.
what percentage of girls will be on the PDA 2003 team/2004? Sounds like you will have a very good team if your older girls have solid players in 2003 too. Will clubs like Crush and sdfc and other premier clubs go this way as well? What happens in tournaments and state cups? I would assume the PDA, MF and WC ecnl clubs will just play their younger age groups in the older brackets so they are age group eligible.
8:50 It will eventually happen but as stated before, it will only be for the girls development academy teams, not the whole state. Some of you are so clueless.
There is no girl's development academy at this time.
"This is happening. I saw that sdfc was able to beat breakers at delco, the team Lyons can not beat."PDA Lyon beat Boston Breakers West 6-0 at the PDA tournament. SDFC beat the 1-0.They also beat Boston Breakers Elite(east) 3-0. So by your math PDA Lyon would beat SDFC around 5-0. SDFC beat a B team - Big deal!
10:05Since you're not paying attention, let me help you out. SDFC beat the West team in round robin play, they beat the EAST team in the finals.
Well...isn't that special
So SDFC does well in a tournament and immediately the PDA parent gets involved saying they didn't beat anyone. You are a loser, a complete loser. People like you ruin sports for kids, I feel so bad for your daughter.
According to the PDA schedules/results from the PDA tournament, PDA Lyon (not Lyon Blue- I know the difference) beat both Boston Breakers teams (east and west) 1-0 and 1-0, not 6-0 and 3-0. Where did those inflated scores come from?
