VIEWER REQUEST! U11G U11 Girls Youth Soccer

U11 girls' teams are facing the 11 v. 11 playing field for the first time. This is a time when players develop a true love for the game and the focus is a little more intense, on the field and on the sidelines...

JAGS is a complete mess.

Anonymous said...

Why do you think JAGS is a mess? Not claiming it is or isn't....

Anonymous said...

I understand that there are teams still waiting on schedules. So, it should be that the scheduling is a mess.

Anonymous said...

All leagues seem to have a lacking in the scheduling department. A good team manager is key!!

Anonymous said...

LOL at JAGS. Schedules are out, but for some reason they have been unable to figure out how to use Got Soccer. We got our schedule over the weekend. Most of the best teams went to EDP, but still some good teams in JAGS. JAGS has become the best of the town based clubs.

Anonymous said...

JAGS going to Got Soccer changes everything because it becomes about points as suppose to development which this age should be about. Now you have to play everyone in a flight to be judged instead of playing as many teams you want to develop. This ruins the older age groups a team start to chase points.

Anonymous said...

Yup.

Anonymous said...

Anyone want to preview/predict the round of 32 state cup games for this weekend. Obviously we aren't focusing enough on results for matches between mostly 10 year old girls ... (jk) ;-) ... I am interested in people's experiences working with the various leagues, particularly the experience of EDP vs JAGS. My impression is EDP has more resources (people) to bring to bear, while JAGS is run by just a couple people, which is probably why they have struggled with schedules, etc ... Are the costs much higher for EDP to pay for those extra resources? Any other major differences besides possibly the level of competition available?

Anonymous said...

EDP is almost 4x the cost of JAGS due to volunteers compared to paid administrators. You get more for your money in JAGS for this age but as you get older the better competition is playing elsewhere.

Anonymous said...

The Volunteers at JAGs can't figure out how to use Got Soccer. Anyone know the JAGS flighting?

As far as the state cup, on paper Crush and Voorhees are the two best teams at 8v8.

Anonymous said...

I agree with crush n voorhees 8v8...11v11 draw isn't that strong I have to say Sjeb or Middletown will win 11v11 n voorhees will win 8v8

Anonymous said...

It seems like this year very few teams are doing State Cup compared to the past. I know when my daughter was u11 there were far more teams. Any theories as to why? More teams playing multiple leagues?

Anonymous said...

@415 i agree maybe pda couldn't field 23 teams lo any predictions this weekend in edp 11 vs 11

Anonymous said...

It's too bad more teams aren't playing. Maybe more will play come spring. It's fun facing new teams. Gives the girls a change from playing same old teams.

SJEB 6 - PDA South 1

Anonymous said...

6 to 1 sjeb over pda south wow what happened to pda south I heard they had alot of problems over there I didn't see that coming I heard they also lost to a u 10 team time to get your house in order

Anonymous said...

Sounds like the barons have gotten better

Anonymous said...

Seems like things not going well in nirvana, aka paradise, aka PDA.

Anonymous said...

My daughter is new to pda south we need players asap we need a goalie and field players asap please feel free to come out 6 girls would help

Anonymous said...

Let's hope they work it out- we can't afford to lose an 11v11 team. There aren't that many of them out there right now. Every team goes through issues- they'll figure it out.

Anonymous said...

NJ Wildcats 12-1 over Rage today in EDP game. Way to keep it classy coach TN.

Anonymous said...

8:30

You're not new to PDA, you're the guy that just got booted from the team. Nice try though

Anonymous said...

Yaa you tell um! So many tough people in soccer today. Oh funny thing is, all the tough people in soccer on on the sidelines.. Parents should just stay home and the girls play soccer.

Anonymous said...

453pm

U have no idea what you are talking about.
Please do not comment on PDA if you do not know the whole true story. NO ONE GOT BOOTED FROM THE TEAM.

Anonymous said...

I agree! Parents are so ruining this game! I heard parents yelling to check players green cards at a game this past weekend! We live in the greatest country in the world, but some of us should stay away from competitive events if you can't stay positive! Please your an embarrassment to the sport, and sadly to your children!

Anonymous said...

I would say if the referees controlled the games from the opening whistle things would be better. The fact that one week you have Ref that knows a push from behind is unacceptable and the following week it's ok to slid tackle from behind and that is ok is what leads to most of the yelling on our side lines. Give it time. I have older kids who play also and the referees get better. Unfortunately the younger kids get the worst referees and it truly hurts the game.

Was looking at some edp results. Really PDA 10-0. Real classy.

Anonymous said...

To pay all that money & not face competition seems like a waste of time as well as money. Wildcats never beat a team 12-1 before EDP.

Anonymous said...

Wildcats also not playing in top bracket....12-1 hope they enjoyed that win no class there...

Anonymous said...

Not going to help them recruit when that club already has a bad reputation.

Anonymous said...

Who?

Anonymous said...

Wildcats Club has a terrible reputation just ask the older age groups.

Anonymous said...

The problem is not with the wildcats winning 12-0. The problem is with Edp letting any team that writes a check join. There are many other lopsided games so far in this age bracket and we are only a couple of games in. At this age and level of soccer teams should not have to give mercy. This is not Rec anymore. I also blame the club for entering their girls in Edp when they must have known they were not ready for this.

Anonymous said...

Look who is playing in the November Howell tourney:

http://www.gotsport.com/events/teamlist.asp?eventid=39688&showall=true

I think Howell is 11 v 11. It would be nice for some of the elite MOSA teams, or southern Jersey JAGS teams to sign up and test themselves.

I have forwarded this to our coach(MOSA premier)...

Anonymous said...

There is no excuse for winning 12-0. It is very easy to control the score of games when talent levels are so different. Running up the score shows a complete lack of character and sets a terrible example for the players.

Anonymous said...

The reason coaches do this in EDP is because the tie breaker is goal diff and there is no limit. Now it forces everyone else to do the same thing which is sad - especially for Rage who is obviously in the wrong league.

All EDP has to do is limit goal diff in games to 4 and it will stop.

Again, shame on TN for doing this.

Anonymous said...

So a developmental league is all about winning, if goal differential comes into play! Shame on all who support this garbage.

Anonymous said...

So a developmental league is all about winning, if goal differential comes into play! Shame on all who support this garbage.

Anonymous said...

12:35

Your comment makes no sense. Of course it's partly about winning, it's a sport and there's a winner and a loser. The issue is, they should limit goal diff to prevent teams from running up the score.

Anonymous said...

PDA South is kind of a mess now. Their facility is under major construction, no home games so far this season. Practices are scattered all over the place. Don't look for any teams to be sharp this fall from PDA South. Hopefully when their new complex is finished things will improve.

Anonymous said...

5:44

You CAN'T be serious. Please tell me you're joking. The team is struggling because the fields are under construction?

The team is struggling because your best player left at the end of last season, two more bolted for SJEB a few weeks ago and another was booted, sorry I mean "she left". So keep telling everyone you're the up and coming team, if you say it enough maybe you will even start to believe it.

Anonymous said...

The only team PDA cares about at this age is Lyon. All the other players are just supporting their club financially. That's the reality.

Anonymous said...

I have a long question comment.. We left our travel team for PDA- my daughter is U8. I know she's young and she may be playing a different sport in two years but for now, she loves it and she is very talented.. Anyway we wanted to go to PDA shore, that folded, so we wen to PDA south, nice coach , terrible parents plus we only had 7 girls on the team so every time we played , there were no subs- that was good and bad. Anyway, we decided to pull her out for now. She will continue to play some travel and I have her enrolled in other stuff like Futsal for the winter. But, what do I do for the spring? Try out for PDA North or for NJ Crush or FCCopa- can someone please give me advice.. Thank you in advance.

Anonymous said...

You have to do some research and find out what teams are good at this age if she is a good player you want to to play with good players so she can grow and get better..PDA north is hard to say no to expensive but the north is good PDA south and shore are there to support the north....nj crush puts good teams out...the barons have good training but hit or miss on teams being good..u should contact a few clubs and take her to a practice to see what she likes and see how the teams are..at u-8 ur looking at the training and how good girls are around her to push her

Anonymous said...

The comment I posted about PDA South and their facility under construction was in regards to the entire organization not just a particular team. Sorry for any confusion. I also agree with the 9/27 12:59pm comment. Look around, jump in some practices, see a game or two. Watch the trainer, and more importantly the parents. Many parents can't keep there mouths shut on the sidelines... You will get all you need to know just by listening. The best teams in the area are VERY tight knit groups. NJ Crush and Barrons, seems to be that way and Voorhees as well. By the way just curious is Voorhees a club team? Keep seeing posts about them but little info. Saw them play in Marlton this summer.

mad sja sol parent said...

pda barcelona coach shame on you we had a game scheduled for yesterday and you cancel to say your team is not prepared this is un beleveable people have lives and schedules girls look foward to the game ,thanks pda now i see why your team is always talked negative about

Anonymous said...

It was a Jewish holiday. Show some respect.

Anonymous said...

So why were the game date and time agreed upon to begin with? Doesn't sound like a lack of respect,
but more like a lack of organization.

Anonymous said...

There were games in all age groups cancelled and rescheduled. Deal with it. It's not all about you. Now go do some dishes and make some dinner. You b*tch.

Anonymous said...

What the heck is wrong with you calling someone the B word? Bet you're a parent who screams on the sideline telling your kid what to do instead of letting the coach do their job. Or are you sexually frustrated? Either way watch your mouth and stop trying to be a big man behind the keyboard.

Anonymous said...

Sounds like you should check to see if you have
scheduled anything for November 27th. Most standard
calendars have holidays on them. Oh. And I say that with all due respect. Calling people names? That's classy. There should be an education level requirement
for posting here.

Anonymous said...

PDA Lyon vs SJEB score 8-0. Seems like EDP teams are not evenly matched.

Anonymous said...

Relax PDA parent, that was the SJEB B team.

Anonymous said...

It's a shame that all the talented teams are using 8v8 for a cover up.

Anonymous said...

Like how PDA parent puts Sjeb and not say it was Sjeb west team...I like to see Lyon vs Sjeb east team..but that will never happen

Anonymous said...

I'm not a PDA parent but I can guarantee the SJEB east would not win against Lyon. Ive seen both teams play. And you're right.....it'll never happen.

Anonymous said...

10:34

I like how all the UNtalented teams are playing 11v11 when they're not ready for it.

A U11 south division team plays the same team 3 or 4 times in the regular season - yeah, that's what I would want for my daughter.

Anonymous said...

Yes you are right thanks to all the team's running to 8v8 you figure!

Anonymous said...

Why did sjeb put there "A" team in the weaker bracket?

Anonymous said...

That's a great question not fair to the b Team A team is a good squad.

Anonymous said...

Quite frankly why didn't they just put all the 11v11 teams in one bracket? Play each other once and get a taste of each team. I heard through the grapevine there is a parent on sjeb east and a parent on Jersey premier soccer who can't get along and the two teams have been staying away from each other till the dust settles. Whether it's true 100% or not I don't know. Anyone see Jersey Premier soccer play? I hear they have a couple strong players but collectively as a whole they struggle at times.

Anonymous said...

I think EDP league is crap. Teams need to be more evenly matched for benefit of all. Losing to a team 5+ points and having the winning team pull players and play keep away for remainder of game does t help anyone. EDP should allow better teams to play up a year.

Anonymous said...

Not sure I know Jps plays the Sjeb east this weekend at EDP cup tourny..u said u seen both teams play and PDA will beat the east u r probably right Lyon is top team right now but when is the last time u seen the east play they r ok they have a strong striker ok mid ok def but that's not enough to beat Lyon yet

Anonymous said...

Jps lost to Marlboro spirit..I say the east will beat Jps with ease but we will find out this weekend...I like to see underdog win it drives other team parents nuts

Anonymous said...

My daughter plays in the Sjgsl and we are local to were JPS and Marlboro played so my daughter wanted to stop by and see the game. I have to say jps was very strong the first half. The two goals they did score were pretty much right off the bat. If they could get stronger and not look so tired the second half there may be good things to come for them. Only time will tell I guess. Would love to see them play the barons east. Hoping me and my daughter can get over to see it.

Anonymous said...

Would be interesting to see SJEB team play Lyon, even as a scrimmage.

Anonymous said...

It's not like that was a real 8-0 score with Lyon over SJEB.

At 8-0 with 20 minutes to go Lyon went to 10players, then 9, then 8 players with 10 minutes to go. Then those 8 were told to practice passing in their own half! It was a possible 12,13 or 14-0 game if they tried...

Anonymous said...

Who cares if they could have scored more goals. Games that lopsided don't do anyone good. Would be interesting to see the SJEB East team play Lyon. Bet that game would be more competitive!

Anonymous said...

I agree that the EDP brackets are miss matched. I assume most teams will be in Hammonton this weekend. Looking forward to seeing a few good games. Looking at the schedule for 8v8 where is Voorhees? Does PDA South have two u11 teams? Who's Milan? Teams are coming out of the woodwork is seems!

Anonymous said...

Per 8:26AM post.... Rumor has it Voorhees did not have enough players available for the tournament. PDA South Milan is their U10 team that plays U11 in SJGSL. This is one of the teams PDA South is focusing on. New trainer this season after the original trainer went two seasons undefeated. New trainer is from across the pond. They will be in EDP next year age appropriate.

Anonymous said...

Top five in NJ right now, Lyon IMO is above the rest at #1. Next five in no order right now, Crush, Voorhees, SDFC, and SJEB. I'm sure there is some other teams that I just don't know that are very good as well.

Anonymous said...

PDA Lyon and Voorhees are the best teams in the state flat out. But since Lyon plays 11v11, neither will play for awhile. But to raise an argument PDA Lyon has not won any national tournaments. But, PDA rules clearly state U10 and under are not allowed to leave the state for tourneys. Regardless, it would be a great game to watch. It's difficult to compare both teams.

Anonymous said...

Voorhees just had a 1-1 game with Crush, and only beat MFA 2-0. I don't think they are on par with those other three right now. Between EDP and the state turney there is lots of very good soccer to go this fall.

Anonymous said...

If you look at Voorhees's GOT SOCCER site it will show Voorhees does not score many goals. Most scores are 2-0, 3-0 etc. Look at the goals against ratio, one of strongest in the region if not the country. The defense on that team is a wall! The team has only one game since 2012 that the team was scored upon 3 times! No need to run up scores. No need to play pass around. I'm sure Voorhees would love a chance to play PDA on 8v8! That whole team would say bring it I bet.

Anonymous said...

I think Voorhees would win small sided. Lyon's speed and passing ability lend themselves to be better at 11v11. 8v8 ends up becoming a Futsal game.

Anonymous said...

At this point I don't think the field size would matter.

Anonymous said...

Just saw the last few posts. I agree Voorhees would win. I wish they were playing this weekend at the EDP event. I just looked at their GOT SOCCER. The team has only lost three times since March, and only by one goal. The only team close to them is Lower Merion, and Voorhees has beaten them plenty of times. Face facts Voorhees in a unique team. Town team that plays better then club teams. What is seems to me is a strong group of girls from the same town that just happen to be great young players. Their record speaks for itself, Jeff Cup winners and State Cup winners.... We will have to see what happens this season, but from the looks of it, they are on the same path as last year.

Anonymous said...

Why did Voorhees (and the rest of other "top" teams) choose to stay 8v8 for U11?

Anonymous said...

The overwhelming majority of teams are playing 8v8 at U11, not just some of the other "top" teams. Kudos to Voorhees and the other town teams that keep school friends together at the younger ages.

I'm hearing of a trend towards 8v8or 9v9 next year at the U12 age. Is anyone hearing the same thing?

Anonymous said...

8v8 field is too small for u 12 girls. Even for some u 11 teams. Seen most teams play at this age group. IMO PDA Lyon is far more talented and deeper than the rest.

Anonymous said...

Yes, majority of the regional leagues are going to be 8v8 at U12. EDP and JAGS will offer both as the do now. They are close to adopting a larger field size requirement for u11/u12.

Anonymous said...

Think the top the teams are doing each other a disservice by not playing directly with each other. EDP u11 is a joke with lopsided match ups. How do these "top" teams expect to do well nationally when they aren't playing the best at the local level. 8v8 or 9v9 is a joke at u12.

Voorhees, world class, crush, PDA Lyon should be playing each other every other week if they are the top teams. Waste of time playing other teams.

Anonymous said...

I watched the Jps vs Sjeb east game today wow what a blow out 7-0 and barons played keep away the second half it was crazy thought Jps was better

Anonymous said...

My daughter and I came over to the farm early (she plays u11 8v8). I wanted to see the Jersey Premier and Barons E game. And I have to say that there are a couple decent players on Jersey Premier BUT there seems to be an issue with some of the girls. Seems like they didnt want to pass often, keeping the ball to themselves no matter their position to try and get the goal and sometimes looked lazy not putting in the effort to run. They did look good the first 15-20 minutes then it went south. They had a girl here and there open clear as clear could be and they wouldn't pass. If you want to win you have to play as a team. And that I didn't see from Jersey Premier but I did see that with the Barons E. Job well done.

Anonymous said...

Bad loss for the Sjeb east team didn't let a goal in the whole tourny and loss on a own goal...team looked like it feel apart the last game...Sjeb had a lot of chances to score just couldn't finish...that's soccer better team can't always win...I still think Lyon is the top team after watching barons play...they let there emotions beat them...Jps u lost to barons east and barons west team face the fact Jps is not a strong team and that's the truth....wait till all the 8v8 teams go 11v11 then the comp will be even stronger

Anonymous said...

What happened to Hamilton Rush? First, why were they in the third flight of 8v8 and second, how do they not win that flight? Missing girls, injuries?

Anonymous said...

Barons East are a fanominal team. Lyon is probably the best. I can't wait till Voorhees moves up to 11v11 to play Lyon. Should make for a very interesting game.

Barons East had a great run at the tournament this past weekend but came up against a team that gave them a run for their money. Tough way to lose also.

I understand their are strong teams and their are weak teams and a team makes or breaks a win or loss. But some of these weak teams like Match Fit and Jersey Premier and Barons West have a few strong players regardless of how the rest if the team plays. It's a shame those stronger players couldn't be on a team together. Oh well, on to the next game kids.

Anonymous said...

Interesting to see what happens with World Class and NJ Crush this weekend. Off of their overall body of work WC may be the best team at 8v8.

Anonymous said...

Interesting to see what happens with World Class and NJ Crush this weekend. Off of their overall body of work WC may be the best team at 8v8.

Anonymous said...

WC wins. Top three crush girls will leave club next year - they always do. All the older teams become very average over time and fade away.

Anonymous said...

Okay, any of the top 5 teams playing U11 8v8 in NJ this fall, can beat one another. Teams have good days and bad... What it comes down to, is how they perform in the end. Top teams will tie, or loose a game here or there. Does not mean they are a bad team just had a bad day! Hence the Giants on Sunday! Bad day! The team bashing i.e: Crush will loose their top 3 girls, or World Class is just kick and run, Voorhees is the dirtiest team in the state. Let the girls who want it most prove it. I guess a lot will be settled at the EDP CUP in November.

Anonymous said...

I find it hilarious that grown adults are on a u11G soccer forum putting down teams and little girls. YES.....little girls. Big deal one can kick better than the other. Do you not get they are little girls and not seasoned professional athletes????? Leave the kids alone, shut your mouths on the sidelines, let the little girls play a sport they love and not a sport you wish you were good at.

PDA Lyon is a good team, Vorhees is a good team, NJ Crush is a good team, Middletown is a good team, there a bunch of good teams, no need to fight over who is better. Just enjoy your kids playing at a high level against good teams. Sooner rather than later, all our kids will be grown and all this will be over.It goes fast...sit back and enjoy

Going to be a great weekend for soccer!! Cannot wait for some of these showdowns. SDFC Galaxy v. Voorhees should be great to watch. Both are undefeated this season in EDP league play. Looks like SDFC puts a lot of goals on the board. Voorhees has a great defense system, but lacking on goals this season. I think this game will be close. Whoever wins this game will win the CUP. Crush should beat Hamilton, but I don't think they can beat SDFC or Voorhees, even though they tied them earlier this season.

I believe it was SDFC after 6 PKs

Anonymous said...

Middleton was the better team yesterday, too bad their parents again overshadowed the girls play by screaming for a red card every time one of their players went down. Embarrassing actually.

Anonymous said...

Sdfc played Hamilton
Middletown played pda
In case it wasn't clear

Anonymous said...

Yes. Two different sets of comments going on here.
Some about the SDFC game versus Middletown a few weeks ago (the PK reference) at the EDP tourney and some about the finals Sunday where Middletown played PDA Lyon Blue and SDFC played Hamilton.

Anonymous said...

The PDA goalie took out a Middletown player on breakaway, no attempt at the ball. A penalty kick was given and converted, however, the ref blew the call, it should have been a red card and a penalty kick, at the very least a yellow card. Please know the game if you are going to post on a blog. Thank you

Anonymous said...

Never saw a red card given in an eleven year old game. Grow up buddy. It sounds like you won the game and were awarded a pk. Just shut your mouth. I did respect Middletown not anymore.

Anonymous said...

Middletown parents are probably the worst out there...they def overshadow their kids. It's not right. Their kids have talents. Let the talent price itself...keep your mouths shut.

You follow the rules when playing soccer. You don't get to pick and choose which ones you want to follow. If you don't want to follow the rules, don't play. Sounds like alot of people are very bitter....I hope you find what makes you happy in life and stop trying to live through your children...it's sad

Anonymous said...

PDA Lyon lost? I thought they were unbeatable. I'm surprised we havent heard the PDA talking points about how in a few years they will be better, etc. The parent bashing is usually the 1st step. Enjoy Middletown!

It was actually PDA Lyon Blue that lost to Middletown

Laughing at someone for being a caring parent when their child is hurt is sad. What is wrong with people when you ridicule humanity. This is a physical sport, injuries happen but there is still room for compassion and understanding what another parent must be feeling.

Anonymous said...

You're right about one thing 1:41, that was a PDA Lyon parent doing the parent bashing. Such a shame that people can't just be respectful to each other on this blog.

I came to the site to see if SDFC or Hamilton won the 8V8 State Cup and I see people just acting crazy. Does anyone know the score of the Hamilton-SDFC game?

Anonymous said...

Whatever happened to the trfc fire team? They played in jags last season

Anonymous said...

Fire is now PDA Shore as they bought into but are really the same team just paying more money to be on it with new uniforms. They were eliminated 1st round of State Cup.

Anonymous said...

PDA shore (I think is mostly made of trfc fire they may have dropped a few & picked up a few) lost in pk's in state cup to Middletown. I wonder how those parents feel about their choice to move/merge over to PDA????

Anonymous said...

"PDA Lyon lost? I thought they were unbeatable. I'm surprised we havent heard the PDA talking points about how in a few years they will be better, etc. The parent bashing is usually the 1st step. Enjoy Middletown!"

Lets be real. It was Lyon Blue, not Lyon. I think Lyon beat Middletown 3-0 in a 35 minute 1/2 game scrimmage earlier this season.

Anonymous said...

Lets be real...if not for one particular player, you are just a good team, not a great one..Besides you have the best team money can buy

Anonymous said...

One player does not make a team. I guess this particular player scored all 32 goals in their 4 wins. Oh and she played defense that hasn't allowed a goal yet. I know there is jealousy out there but please keep it real. Good luck to all.

Anonymous said...

You are the one taking shots at other teams, acting all high and mighty. You just can't let other teams enjoy their success. Your team didn't even play the state cup, why are you even on this board starting trouble? I am pretty sure your coach wouldn't appreciate your bad attitude towards other teams and other peoples children. I feel sorry for you, that you need to tear others down to build yourself up..... Classless.

Anonymous said...

Not sure what you are referring to? Please explain.

Anonymous said...

I don't think there is anything wrong with calling out teams with parents who are obnoxious on the sidelines during games.

Anonymous said...

Especially ones whose parents run on the field.

Anonymous said...

I just read some of these posts and have a few observations/opinions

1. One of the post that references a particular player from PDA and the PDA parent knew exactly who it was and got very defensive..I think the post kinda hit close to home.

2. The day PDA beat Middletown in a scrimmage, the PDA parent forgot to mention PDA then lost to the Marlboro Spirit, who then lost to Middletown..Juts want people to have all the facts..

3. I see why PDA parents have the rep they have, well deserved. Very sad for the kids.

The same Marlboro team they beat 6-0 in edp?

Anonymous said...

So scrimmages only count when PDA wins? BTW, you brought up the scrimmages. Just sayin

Ahh, good old youth sports....it really brings out the best in us parents!

I’m sure most would agree that there are a number of very high caliber teams in the area that have great young athletes and are consistently in the winning brackets of leagues & tournaments - some town teams, but mostly academy. Even though it’s far from official (underscore “far”), I think the current top 10 teams ranked on the Gotsoccer website pretty much covers them (rank order notwithstanding!!).

We are all into sports & competition - that's why you are reading this blog. We see each other regularly while supporting our children throughout the seasons. This bickering certainly doesn’t foster an atmosphere of sportsmanship on the field or sidelines. I love watching my daughter compete as much as the next parent, but some of you need to chill out. Focus on the development of your daughter's skills, comradery of team, and appreciation of the sport.

Team/club rivalries will naturally arise and should be fun & exciting to watch. 10 year old soccer is only a game.

PDA Lyon is always looking for a competitive team to play. Contact the team manager and specify the time and place to play. Let the results speak rather than trash talk on a forum. Lyon is a good team that has already lost to good teams. Would be good for their development to lose to more good teams vs playing keep away for half a game. EDP state cup would have been a waste of time for them at 11v11 as they have easily beaten most of these teams already.

The PDA Lyon post is interesting. It says don't talk trash and goes on to talk trash. Another option would have been to split your team and play 8v8 this year. Instead you bucked the trend of playing 8v8 at U11 and find a shortage of competition. That's your fault. I don't accept the we would have won if we entered position, regardless of past results. Part of sports is the underdog sometimes wins. My take is SDFC and Middleton are state champs. They entered the tournament and won.

For better or worse, PDA Lyon has reached a level of play where very few teams are able to compete with them. I personally think that's impressive. I'm not a PDA parent, but I could easily see why those girls are favored going into their vast majority of matches based on past game results. Should they have split to play 8v8? Play up an age level? Well, I guess that's up to their coaches/trainers to decide what's best for them to grow.

On the other hand, I also find it impressive that a few town-based teams are able to be spoken about in the same sentence as top state academies. Kudos to Middletown, Vorhees, and Marlboro!

Anonymous said...

Marlboro?!?! Bwahahahaha

Are you serious???

Anonymous said...

They beat Barons East Bwahahaha…......seriously. Don't hate......appreciate!

Anonymous said...

One fluke tournament when you load up on guest players means nothing. Your 2-2 league record with 6 goals for and 12 against says more about who Marlboro is.

Anonymous said...

LOL. Keep living in ignorance. Play the best teams before boasting about being the best. Agree with 3:08....shouldn't boast when you have to rely on ringers....

Anonymous said...

I guess yesterday was a fluke also? Guess Marlboro had a bunch of guest players again huh? Let's face it, it's anybody's game on any give day. Why? Because they are 9-11 years old. Because they are all still learning new things.

Anonymous said...

"My take is SDFC and Middleton are state champs. They entered the tournament and won."

PDA Lyon has beat many state champs even state champs in the age above their own! Fact is PDA LYON has challenged every single team at U11 & U12 and they are playing better than ever right now.

EVERY single result this year has involved taking players off the field down to 10 or 9 and taking the goalie out to let her run around.

To bad you can't buy yourself some class

Anonymous said...

Looks like tons of EDP games this weekend in 8v8 top flight . First place is locked but should be race to finish from 2nd through 4th.....

Anonymous said...

EDP league will come down to the final games. World Class score vs Voorhees was not as close as it looks. Reports from the game state that Voorhees was over run. Voorhees luster has fallen recently, should be interesting to see what happens with that team in the future. Come Monday we will all see who fought and who gave up.

Anonymous said...

We all know Pda is on a different level. But please let's not be so arrogant.

Anonymous said...

Best team money can buy

Anonymous said...

They should consider entering the Woman's World Cup next year. They might actually have a chance against Cameroon or the Ivory Coast.

Anonymous said...

They don't have to enter any tournaments, it is a waste of their time. They should just quit playing soccer since there is no chance they can ever lose.

Anonymous said...

How about PDA north continue to play a year up like they always have. I know if I was spending 3800 for my kid to play soccer I sure as heck would not drive 2 hours here and there to be bored winning 8,9,10 to notta.

Anonymous said...

3800 please. Do some homework. Stop the jealousy.

Anonymous said...

The funny thing is that in 3-4 years, 1/2 of the girls on the PDA team won't be on the team anymore. The good players that are playing on town teams or for other teams will come over to PDA and the ones that were kept on the team for financial reasons will be cast aside.

Anonymous said...

They can't be that good. They're not even a top five team in the got soccer rankings.

Anonymous said...

Well if got soccer isnt ranking PDA, they aren't even worth discussing. seems like a lot of money to be paying to be on a team that isn't even ranked and not playing the champion teams like Middletown or Voohees. They must be playing all B teams in order to keep their winning streak alive.

Anonymous said...

FYI The Lyon team does not Chase points and gotsoccer as you no is
Not real. The team reaches out on a
Weekly to teams to play with no response the team will play anyone
Willing to play.
Have a good day
Ps most teams spend good money
to play ask copa $$

Anonymous said...

PDA is not 3800 really why is money
Always an issue. All clubs if you do
The math pay their fair share so please let the money issue go boring
To hear the issue All the time.

Are the last two posts some kind if weird lyrical poetry with oddly placed capital letters?

Anonymous said...

I'm done professor you figure it out?

Anonymous said...

PDA needs their own blog. With big tournaments coming who is playing in Bethesda next weekend?

Anonymous said...

People need to stop worrying about PDA. I'm sure they don't care about you.

Anonymous said...

I agree PDA does need their own blog... Just looked up the Bethesda Adidas Tourney, looks like only team at U11 playing from NJ is Voorhees. Lower Merion is there as well. Two great teams...

Anonymous said...

Bethesda @ U11 11v11 or still 8v8?

Anonymous said...

I'm guessing it's 8v8. Besides Voorhees and Lower Merion, there are also HMMS Eagles (PA) and Horsham Dynamite (PA) so you have the top 3 ranked PA East teams playing in the same tourney. Each of the 4 teams above are in different brackets of the top flight so it should make for an interesting final.

Anonymous said...

I would not call vorhees a top team. They are in fourth place in their division. Numbers don't lie.

Anonymous said...

How did Vorhees v SDFC pan out. Still looks like 2nd place on down not finalized in the 8v8 1st EDP division.
Good competition this fall in this division for sure!

Anonymous said...

Voorhees v SDFC was not played due to weather.

Anonymous said...

11/6, 10:29...

Are you stupid, ignorant or both?

You say that about Voorhees when they had only played 4 games. What's your opinion now? They're in second with one game still to play.

And no, I'm not a Voorhees parent

Anonymous said...

@8:35. Totally agree. Must be a PDA parent. Surprised they aren't on here boasting about their win over U12 NJX.

Anonymous said...

Voorhees v SDFC was cancelled due to the weather? Was there too much sun?

Anonymous said...

10 goals in 6 games against average teams. That's nothing to brag about. Beat world class then we'll talk.

Anonymous said...

Ok, you just answered my question...you're definitely stupid.

World Class, SDFC and NJ Crush are "average teams"? Ok pal

Btw, they lost 2-1 at World Class and tied NJ Crush 1-1. Those scores are sooooooo lopsided, I can see how you made your unintelligent statement. They still have a game left against SDFC.

Anonymous said...

I hope your children don't see you act this way. They are children. 10-11. That's what's average. Geez these kids are developing at this age. Anyone can beat anyone at any given time. You all act like your kids are going to the Olympics someday. Chill out. Sad part is I hear this crap on the sidelines allllllll the time. It's disgusting how parents talk about other people's kids and those kids hear it. Grow up folks. This is why kids quit or in your words are "average" because they hear it and think they will never succeed. How about everyone throw some positive comments out there instead of putting little kids down. Pathetic.......

Anonymous said...

Like I said beat world class.

Anonymous said...

This forum is a bad reality show. You know it is garbage but it can be hard to look away.

Anonymous said...

Regardless of the perceived level of competition 50 goals+ scored and 0 allowed is ridiculous for PDA Lyon.

You have to remember teams like Vorhees and SDFC will only dilute their concentration of talent when they get to 11 v 11 but PDA seems to accelerated their concentration of talent - so to say - by just pulverizing teams on huge fields.

Anonymous said...

Stop it, there is literally no competition in that division. That is such a joke

Anonymous said...

There is no competition in this age group period.

Anonymous said...

There might not be enough competition for you, but if you're a 10/11 year old girl, there's plenty. The problem is the 8v8/11v11 transition. In EDP, only a small percentage of teams have decided to move to the big field in U11, most have decided to stay 8v8. With such few teams in the two 11v11 divisions, it might have benefitted to have only 1 division consisting of 9 teams. This way a team gets rolled by PDA only once and the rest of the division can benefit from the different competition.

It will be interesting to see which 8v8 teams decide to go big field next year - or maybe even next season.

Anonymous said...

PDA Lyon is very very deep. The absolute last best forward/midfielder on the roster could be the best goal scorer on Vorhees for instance. Not one single player on SDFC will come to tryouts and then start for Lyon at U12.

Anonymous said...

I really hope this is not a real PDA parent. If it is, I have a good feeling for who it is. I am a real PDA parent and think we are good, but so are many other teams. Crush, sdfc, and vorthees are all very strong too. Vorhees for being a real town team is awesome. We were beat last year by breakers and have not played many very strong teams yet from other regions. The Midwest teams are usually very big and strong and I'm sure we will see that soon. There are several girls on sdfc that could come and take starting positions on PDA - some people don't understand the game.

Anonymous said...

Also a PDA parent here. I was in bed by 10 so it wasn't me. No way would a PDA parent post that. We know our team is good but also know it's a long journey. Please understand that we do not go on here and brag. It's being done by a bunch of trolls.

Anonymous said...

Does pda take many outside players, or do they
pull from their b teams?

Anonymous said...

Yes. Tryouts in the spring. Last year they had about 50. All are welcome.

Anonymous said...

IThe transition from 8v8 ( small sided) to 11v11 larger field is huge adjustment. This a a huge reason there is not much competition at 11v11. They are in transition they are 10/11 yr old girls learning new positions on a bigger field some w new coaches & new teammates. My daughter plays for a PDA team (not Lyon). Lyon is a top notch team but reality is....they have a year under their belt of playing 11v11. They played up last year. Honestly, I give their coach credit. He got them ready early.

Anonymous said...

7:25 & 8:10 is the same PDA parent that has been on here for a while & we know who he/she is because you are always talking about this website../

Anonymous said...

Whoever it is they seem to know a lot about other teams in the age group. Get a life.
