So it's official, glad I have an 04
Most of the starters on Lyons are 03 - they will be playing with half the older team. Girls will be losing starting positions for sure.
I don’t want to give my medical school, because it might be identifying (and put me at risk for stalking) but rest assured I went and graduated, from an honors research program no less. Therefore, I do not get medical research from popular media, but rather scientific journals. I know that Dr. so and so said in the media he thinks he sees more of this is not epidemiology. I also know that primary care doctors have no expertise in specialties. In addition, the particular medical group you cite has a long history of issuing non-evidence based edicts to parents on from everything from how much screen time they should have to telling all moms to breastfeed for a year to what to do down there. https://www.sciencebasedmedicine.org/new-aap-policy-on-circumcision/Oh and I know they change their minds a lot….http://www.fearlessformulafeeder.com/2012/03/wtf-aap-the-problem-with-the-american-academy-of-pediatrics-newest-statement-on-breastfeeding/And no one does them and the kids turn out just fine anyway.http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/on-parenting/post/backlash-against-aap-guidelines-on-screen-time-for-kids/2011/10/20/gIQApPJHBM_blog.html
While overuse is a poorly defined term overuse is not the majority of soccer injuries. And as they are mostly related to running and turning, cross training would have little impact, because the kids tend to choose other sports based on running and turning.Epidemiology and traumatology of injuries in soccer Allan Buhl Nielsen, MD Accident Analysis Center, Århus County Hospital, Århus, Denmark Johannes Yde, MD Accident Analysis Center, Århus County Hospital, Århus, DenmarkGrowth spurt differences was cited. We also recommend the adoption of a common working definition of overuse injuries within injury surveillance. This definition should emphasize that overuse injuries are characterized by (1) a mechanism of gradual onset, and (2) an underlying pathogenesis of repetitive microtrauma."
Yes, so Lyons do have many more 2003 starters than 2004. They will all do very well combined with the other 2003 girls from older team next year.
Heard calendar age isn't 'mandated' until fall 2017.True or no?
"Another article from my "colleagues" at American Academy of Pediatrics, but hey, what would they know about youth sports injuries."Not much. If it is more than a minor sprain/strain, they are outside their scope of practice. And sometimes, they don't have enough experience to know. Their job is to refer.Youth sports organizations are no longer supposed to take return to practice clearances from pediatricians. They are supposed to come from ortho or neuro (concussions). Best to go to an ER and let them decide on follow-up, or go directly to an ortho.
@ 6:33 Clearly, this is a battle of wits with the unarmed.Maybe next, you can do nuclear fission by reading Popular Mechanics.
Yes, fall of 2017. All the top clubs will go early. The ecnl clubs will be first. The rest will follow when they have to.
Curiosity here;Do we actually know if someone is posting a question and answering in follow up post(s)?Don't know if I am not seeing something that others are (seeing).
What does the silence indicate following the question:"Do we actually know if someone is posting a question and answering in follow up post(s)?Don't know if I am not seeing something that others are (seeing)."The one reference to someone posting and answering their own question has been removed - hmmmmmm
We may get lucky and the Lyons posters will move up an age group next year.I have seen them play and they sure look to be more mature than all the other teams.
"We may get lucky and the Lyons posters will move up an age group next year.I have seen them play and they sure look to be more mature than all the other teams."If by mature you mean - better at soccer than all the other teams - then yes I agree.Individually there is a high level talent and yes, there happen to be some big girls. But as a team, how they play together is where "maturity" really shows itself. This week alone - 20 hours of Lyon team-with-head coach training for the entire roster. You can say they are "mature" in a negative way but I'd say its mostly really really hard work, player development, talent identification and team soccer preparation.
At PDA camp this week? Called pay to play in addition to normal fees. My daughter was at a free natl team center trainer session today. Did I see you there?
Good for your daughter. Who cares what freaking camp people go to. It all plays out on the field.
You should care, since it was all the top players in the state. Plenty of PDA players. I guess your kid wasn't invited.
Head coach could not train entire roster, the girls who went to national training weren't allowed to to train with team today.Did you miss a few girls today?
"At PDA camp this week? Called pay to play in addition to normal fees. My daughter was at a free natl team center trainer session today. Did I see you there?"You saw parents from PDA Storm, PDA Galaxy, PDA Lyon(3 or was it 4 lol?)and PDA Strikers there.
Can you translate that into English. My daughter was at the invite camp today, as were plenty of PDA players. You weren't there. In fact, most slots from pda players were NOT Lyon players
"Head coach could not train entire roster, the girls who went to national training weren't allowed to to train with team today.Did you miss a few girls today?"Wrong - Entire team was there at drop-off this morning. Maybe some left early. These girls play all day, everyday.
What the hell are you talking about? USSF had an invite only camp today for the top players in NJ. No one cares about your all day camp. You were asked a simple question. Was your kid there? If not, go back to your fishbowl.
"At PDA camp this week? Called pay to play in addition to normal fees. My daughter was at a free natl team center trainer session today. Did I see you there?"Girls at that camp tried out and did not make Storm, Galaxy or Lyon, Strikers. It's a list of kids made by coaches recommendations. At next season's tryouts kids on that list and won't make PDA teams and some younger PDA players on that list will not make birth year A teams at PDA for 2003, 2004, 2005 etc in future years…Good luck at next year's try-outs!
What are you talking about? The camp today had tons of PDA players. So your insinuations it was girls who couldn't make Pda makes zero sense. I know your upset to learn your daughter on Lyon isn't the dominant player you thought she was. But at least make sense in your sad retorts.
" I know your upset to learn your daughter on Lyon isn't the dominant player you thought she was. "At PDA and Lyon, they are about the dominant team, not the individual. Yes, probably a 1/2 dozen Lyon players have taken part in those sessions but no one brags about it here like you. No one says a word.Lyon is THE dominant team at this age group and your little superstar probably tried out and couldn't cut in in the coaching staff's eye's. Sorry.
Wow - lots of crazy conceit here. The coaches know about the bragging parents on this board. They don't tolerate it. The ones from the younger PDA teams especially... So be warned. Enjoy this year and good luck birth year B team because thats where parents like you will put their kids.
Do you realize how weak you are, revealed by your own responses. You didn't even know about the invite camp tonight. That's clear in your responses. You were trying to sing the praises of the Pda camp not even knowing that your daughter wasn't invited to partake in a free camp consisting of all the top players in the state. Keep singing the praise of your "team", when anyone in the know with older siblings knows that, sadly, the concept of team has died and it's all about the individual. I actually feel sad for you. This must be your oldest child. Your younger ones will fare better. And don't hate me (although the I don't care), you should be thanking me. You must feel like Charltom Heston when he saw the Statue of Liberty.
"Keep singing the praise of your "team", when anyone in the know with older siblings knows that, sadly, the concept of team has died and it's all about the individual."You are a soulless monkey. We all know about the camp at PDA South you gorilla. We just don't brag about it.
So first you say it was all players who couldn’t make PDA (“Girls at that camp tried out and did not make Storm, Galaxy or Lyon, Strikers”), then you say “At PDA and Lyon, they are about the dominant team, not the individual. Yes, probably a 1/2 dozen Lyon players have taken part in those sessions”. Is it possible to make any less sense? You can call us all the names you want, it doesn’t change the fact you have no clue what you’re talking about and your constant bragging about Lyon has opened you up to being shown the facts. You’re on here bragging about Lyon being better than all the older PDA teams, but I didn’t see your daughter there yesterday (yes we know who you are), and plenty of fall u-13 PDA players were invited. Your ’03 u-12 kid will be competing against 03 u-13 A team players that are far more advanced. “Lyon is THE dominant team at this age group and your little superstar probably tried out and couldn't cut in in the coaching staff's eye's. Sorry.” No need to be sorry. My kid is the same age as yours and plays a year up on a better team. Sorry to dump reality on your head like a cold bucket of water. Enjoy your fishbowl, guppy.
This blog is really sad. These kids are 11 & 12 years old, you may want to stop bragging until after puberty. Although you animals are probably giving your kids HGH to bulk them up sooner. You guys are a sad, sad bunch.
Does anyone have constructive feedback about the NTC session yesterday? Was it well attended? Trainer/player ratio? I assume coaches don't announce it to their team because they can only select a limited number of players.
Please stop. You kid clearly has the ability and means to play for the type of program that send kids to the training center. She got some recognition and extra training with other strong players. This incessant attention seeking on TYS is not going to serve her well.
USSF vs PDA. Who would win?
Looks like there are many people on this blog trying to shut down one PDA Lyon parent - sad for PDA.Maybe he will go away for a while - everything changes next year anyway with age group change.70 percent of Lyons will be playing 2003 next year with older team girls. lets hope all the PDA poster on here have 2003's.
I wonder if anyone of you actually ever sat your LITTLE GIRL down, looked her in the eyes and asked if she truly loves soccer and wants to play or is she playing it because you want her to. And beg for an honest answer. I guarantee if you did, half you jack asses would be gone from this blog because their daughters would be playing a different sport or just hanging out with her friends. Haha
" Souless Monkey said... " ^^^^ THAT is some funny sh*t right there!
My daughter attended the US training last night. She really enjoyed it. Funny thing is she said she didn't recognize anyone. I watched for a while, the drills where quick and tight. These are the best NJ has at these age groups and EVERYONE looked like they belonged there. It was like watching the very best players on your daughters team but it was an entire field of rockstars. The scrimmages for the last half hour was interesting. 13v13 on an 8v8 field! They all did well, even with that many people, passes where dead on. The keepers where tired in the end! Looking forward to the August session. FYI many dark blue Nike Bags from our friends in the North, South and Shore area! LOL
PDA RULES??? Would love to put this all to rest! Come on parents and fans..... Name the teams in NJ, NY and Pa that could put this all to sleep!
Without question, Voorhees would beat them.
Everyone looked like they belong there but they are not all the same age. Some are on the much younger side of the group and they still belong there. That is impressive.
I heard all the girls at the camp could play at PDA. They are clearly the best in the state at u 12. Give me a break. Anyone can look good playing against average talent. No one can touch the talent at PDA. We all know that. Vorhees please. Game would be 5-0. Try again.
1 more day until the new group of U11 teams hits this board. Of course the PDA haters will be out in full force...This age group, in particular, rising U11 seems a bit weaker at PDA than past years. There is a newer inexperienced(by PDA standards)coach. His tryout was very disorganized...Just a look at gotsoccer and the PDA Strikers have lost A LOT of games playing up and they have given up 69 goals in the last year! This team may want to hire a defensive coordinator!69 is an unusually large number for PDA. The Galaxy for instance have given up 14 and the Lyons have given up 14 also in the last 12 months playing up...PDA South beat TBAA in the state cup final. Who else will be the top teams for the new U11??
NJ Crush and SDFC have both added some talent to their new U11 teams. PDA South obviously had a good season - I saw the state cup final. I'd say they could be a favorite to repeat but TBAA controlled a lot of that game and they have that really big fast girl. PDA North is obviously good as always but who has ever seen them play vs their own age? 7th place in flight 5 of EDP is not very impressive.
@ My daughter attended the US training last nightImpossible to have the top girls at this age group. I am sure they were all very good, but there is no way all the top girls were there. Some are on teams without connections and some might have not accepted the invite. The landscape will change dramatically the next few years, some of the top players now, will no longer be top players. PDA and MFA will dominate the older groups since they are the only 2 that can play ECNL. Time to stop drinking the cool aid people and chill out.
The top players in this age group are not even playing u11. They are rockstars even playing up a year or two.
The rising u11 SJEB EDP squad is a strong group. At least one strong new team coming out of there.TBAA supposedly lost two of their strongest players to PDA south.Although have heard that PDA south also lost two of their own stronger players.PDA still should have come out on top if they did get a trade there.PDA will, of course, ultimately, be the best team when all is said and done. Maybe not this year, but it will happen.PDA RULES!
True. When I saw the Smurfs at the PDA Strikers tryout, i knew I would keep my daughter playing up. My daughter is a rising U11 but she has played serious competition two years up even vs PDA Lyon in a U12 game this year. She will play U13 this fall and when ECNL comes, she'll show up and be ready.
Agree. To find some of the top players in any age group you need to look to older teams or some boys teams.
Before we are overrun with rising U11s, this blog becomes the U12 blog tomorrow I believe.
At 6:59 am. First off get a life. Do you wake up and check this blog. 7th place? Look again.
@ 12:38 States 7th on this linkhttps://home.gotsoccer.com/rankings/event.aspx?EventID=43269&GroupID=410074
PDA Lyon is ranked 7th in NJ on got soccer. Who cares. My daughter plays on a team ranked above them and I can tell you, they are not as good as PDA Lyon. The rankings are nice to look at, but are meaningless.
"At 6:59 am. First off get a life. Do you wake up and check this blog. 7th place? Look again."I looked again. PDA Strikers played up in flight 4 and finished in 7th place.http://events.gotsport.com/events/results.aspx?EventID=43269&GroupID=410074&Gender=Girls&Age=11As for comparisons Lyon played up in EDP and won their flight - 1st place.http://events.gotsport.com/events/results.aspx?EventID=43269&GroupID=410081&Gender=Girls&Age=12Find Galaxy in EDP - 1st place also.Storm 1st place in NPL…Not EVERY PDA team is THAT great! The U14 Splash are not and have never been great either. Every 4 or 5 years there are clunker PDA teams. The team has some great kids on it but the coach is very inexperienced and he has TOO few great kids to be great.
No dog in this fight but Lyon has beaten every team in their age group. Got soccer rankings are a joke at every age. Some teams chase points some don't. Until you beat them or any other high ranked team stop the talk. Let the girls do the talking on the field.
Lyon hasn't beaten every team in this age group...they haven't played and of the top teams in that age group...just like winning edp second flight...they r a great team but relax beat Voorhees or world class...and anyone that goes by got soccer points is stupid plain and simple...don't get me wrong Lyon is great...just don't claim something that u haven't done..
Well if WC and Vorhees graduate to the big boy fields, they'll play them this season - most likely.
Is Lyon playing u12 or up at u13
The team has not been told yet.
Lyon will probably play up at u13 so they don't have to play with the pigs in the mud lest they get the dirt and stink of lesser players on them.Vorhees and WC can come and do their laundry after they are done playing better teams. Is Vorhees and WC even going to attempt some 11x11 or could they not recruit enough talent from the rec teams around.
Vorhees is better known for Flyers hockey training. No one is going there to play soccer. Go Rangers
Lyon will probably play up at u13 so they don't have to play with the pigs in the mud lest they get the dirt and stink of lesser players on them.Wrong - nobody knows what age they'll play but the girls were told they are playing U12 at Stars of Mass, so we'll see.
Stars is a Pre-ECNL festival for U12, so they would have to play U12.
Is it possible to spell VOORHEES correctly for the new season. It's clear you are mentally challenged, but maybe you can get someone to adjust your spellcheck filter.
They don't spell too good up in the North Jersey pickle parks.
"What does the silence indicate following the question:"Do we actually know if someone is posting a question and answering in follow up post(s)?Don't know if I am not seeing something that others are (seeing)."The one reference to someone posting and answering their own question has been removed"@july 29 1:17 pmit means the computer know how around here is just as deficient as the medical. it means that kids' soccer won't make up for what is lacking in a parent's life or career.
Overzealous administrator - WC is World Class Soccer not someone's initials!

@ August 2, 2015 at 7:11 AMYou sound like a very angry person.People like to talk / write. Doesn't mean they are lacking anything in their life. They just enjoy the experience. And some just like to f*&^%$ with people.
According to Gotsoccer.com Voorhees is going to 11v11. 17 girls on the squad. They are also signed up for Spirit United and playing 11v11. I wouldn't count them out this season on the so called "big girl field" And please see I spelled VOORHEES correct! For all you Voorhees parents! Good luck to Voorhees, this fall, I did see a few of their players at US training. I wonder where they will be playing U13? If you need a club Medford Strikers would put you all under their brand! I still think it's pretty cool you are a town team!!
Stars tourney, Liverpool, Lyon, South Shore. My guess is Lyon will not play either of those teams, but the Liverpool v. South Shore game should be a good one.
Liverpool is from mass not Texas wrong team Liverpool from txt is Liverpool America elite not Liverpool FSC If you are gonna make a comment please make sure you know what your talking about.
Are the brackets out?
No just applied teams
Where can we find the applied teams list?
FCStars - Accepted Teams - Click Here
Really the PDA Strikers playing up 2 years? That is a bit much
Strikers are only playing up 1 year and they will do very well.As usual.PDA Rules!
PDA rules the Pickle Parks
PDA south ahore world class. Very competitive top bracket.
PDA Strikers can play a year up. I can see that. They almost held their own against Voorhees. And Voorhees is an awesome team. They will get a great workout and will learn more from playing more experienced players then they will from their training. Thats PDA's mantra, "play up" win or lose they will learn. Didn't work for their PDA South Milan team, they won but team broke apart the end of this season lost 6 of their best players. Time will tell, but PDA parents hate to lose. I would rather play up then clean house 6-0 every game... Not learning anything at that point but "keep away!" Still a few weeks away from any EDP schedule release.
I'm new to this blog, I have soccer playing and coaching experience. I have read many of the posts and I'm taken back about the passion you all have! Is U12 that competitive? I have looked up some of the teams... PDA Lyon is by far the most spoken about. Seems a love hate issue going on. Looked up some records for them, they look strong. Found SDFC, seems they are strong and getting stronger. Won some recent tournaments. Came across Xtreme, or as you say Vorhees but god forbid you spell it wrong Voorhees. They have their own website that looks like they have a webmaster daily updating. Is soccer that important in NJ? I'm from across the pond and I'm blown away. People seriously, your out of your minds! Soccer, is about two things..... Control and the love of the game... If you have neither, try something else. If you have one of the two, maybe hope yet. Don't miss what is important... Growth. My 2 cents... Wish you best of luck... Cheers
Go back to England!!
So you give people crap cause they have passion for there kids soccer.. But yet you post on a blog and tell people your from across the pond like your kids not even in this age group..what kind of loser goes on blogs when they are not even from this area or have a kid that plays in NJ. I am confused why you put ur "2 cents in". But thanks for ur advice buddy and yes soccer is competive at this age just like every other sport. I am confused when people make that comment they are just 11v11 its for fun. It is for fun but it is also a comapition. Every sport at this age is the same football baseball softball lacrosse hockey you name it. People take pride in the sport there kids play in.
Want to know why we are Jersey proud:7 of the Top 10 teams in Region 15 of the Top 15 teams in the nationGo find another blog. Jersey Rules baby.
PDA Strikers playing up at Stars is a joke. There is No evidence whatsoever based on their record playing up last year that says they could even win the U11 flight at Stars of Mass - never mind the U12. They will be in the 3rd or 4th flight and play a few Massachusetts town teams - the same type they played in the EDP league and finished in 7th place! This is a team of dwarfs or little people - they are the smallest ever U11 team in PDA history! Muppets! I don't even want to get into the shenanigans the coach and manger do with the roster and the kids ages.
@ August 4, 2015 at 9:12 PM I am curious; does, wherever in western Europe you come from, have enthusiastic soccer families/parents? Do some parents have their children attend countless hours of soccer practices? From what I have seen and heard, soccer is much more a religion overseas than it is in the USA. Also, kids in Europe are being signed at 8,9,10,11, etc. years old to pro teams/full time academies.I would posit that parents in Europe are more intense than the US counterparts. The large difference is perception because the US parents are more boisterous and can come across as belligerent. English folks, for instance, outwardly are more polite. Thoughts?
The poster was a coach from sdfc, they are all English immigrants.
@ August 5, 2015 at 10:50 AM How do you know it is a coach from SDFC?If you go to any of the tournaments there is an impressive display of 'English' coaches on work / student visa's...
EDP has their divisions up. If things don't switch around, head on over and see who your kids will be playing so you can come back here and brag or complain lol
EDP DIVISIONS - CLICK HERE
I have a suspicion that there will be teams upset with these divisions.
So PDA Lyon is playing u12? Where is PDA Lyon Blue playing?
PDA Lyon blue is now zuzu team or however u spell it...Voorhees can't be happy about the spot they are in place some pretty low level teams..
No way the Strikers should be in the 11 V 11 first division north with Lyon. That is just silly.
There are a few teams that shouldn't be in the first flight.wc B team is not strong.just seem like they spread the better teams out rather then having them all play each other doesn't make much sense to me but it is what it is I guess. I am sure there will be se kind of shuffle around
The divisions appear to be currently setup strictly regionally as their division names imply.I think they should create a "championship" division and have the best teams play within that division without regard to the regions. Then setup the remaining teams within regional divisions.
What's are Maps Divisions in some of the age groups? Are they ranked lower than 1st and 2nd divisions?
Maps are ranked lower.
"No way the Strikers should be in the 11 V 11 first division north with Lyon. That is just silly."7th place last season in a U11 B flight. They suck. They should not be in any of the three top flights...
Cut from Strikers? Ha - that's an oxymoron! Our coach has never cut anybody - hence why we are not a top level PDA team! He should have cut 4/5 girls and added greater talent from our lfour tryout days not to mention the Sounders who have some size and speed too. If you go to all his extra camps(like the one during PDA camp), Sunday's, Monday's with his boss - you will never ever be cut!
We're not even going to into all the recent Strikers roster shenanigans. The manager must feel dirty by now just being associated with this guy...
Everybody in pda knows the striker comments come from 2 dad's who don't like each other now and train all over nj and talk about everybody else kids grow up you 2 go have some Spanish wine hint hint
I made one of the strikers comments about them playing with Lyon and my daughter never played for the strikers. They are a good U-11 team and an average U-12 team. There is no way they should be in the same division as Lyon. You can call me a hater or spew your nonsense, but IMO they are not a top flight team at this age group. It is just more PDA strong arming EDP.
Strikers belong in that division because they are a great team!Anyone challenging that is doing so only because they are jealous.PDA RULES!
"We're not even going to into all the recent Strikers roster shenanigans. The manager must feel dirty by now just being associated with this guy..."And what of the gotsoccer.com shenanigans - everyone is on to it. Coaches at the club, parents, tournaments, leagues...
I'm new here and don't understand why some people sound so bitter!! No matter what sport you talk about--everyone is always worried about how everyone else is doing!! Always remember that there are plenty of teams out there that can beat your childs team. You can be the best and look like a dominate team playing at a lower level or look like a mediocre team playing up. Whatever direction your team chooses is fine. So for you parents that are too worried about the "Top Tier" teams--worry about your own team and getting better!! That goes for the top teams also---- get off your high horse and remember that there is always a team out there better than yours!!! I love the competitive nature of the parents on here but cmon!! Get over it and be realistic about your child and team!!
When the bigger academies determine where their teams will play instead of the teams body of work, it's BS. PDA and WC run EDP and it is sad.
@ 10:36AMGood job falling in line. Tamp down the dreams and ambitions of the masses! Let's just face it, most likely one of your kids will be cheering for a PDA player, at a professional level, at some point. The sooner you recognize that PDA is the place to be, the better off you and your player will be.PDA RULES!
Yes..when she is a professional and her kid plays for PDA or some other soccer team. The "professional" level of woman's soccer is barely limping along. I suppose they could try to make it as DOC's or coaches.
@ 11:49She would have graduated from university with very little debt because of her academic and sport scholarship monies.Free to pursue her professional soccer career with plenty of future due to the education.PDA helped this player along the path of skill and knowledge. Empowering her to more and better things than she would have attained without such a quality club to guide her and give her an influential audience for which to perform.16 4 1 18 21 12 5 19!
@ 12:47 I hope you are being sarcastic.
They can't possibly be serious...right?
Look, they are quality soccer club but get a hold of yourself.
Speaking of your own player on line is stupid but a parent's perogative I suppose. Shame on a poster who speaks about another's player.
The PDA player described in the previous posting was / is fictional. No one is talking about a 'real' player in that post.I am sure it is/was sarcastic or at least I hope so...Some good stuff to fire up the masses. HahahahaI am not even sure it is a PDA parent...
OK Folks!!! lets here some legitimate reasons for a Central jersey u11-u12 girl (a quality player) to tryout and come to your club!! No bashing of other clubs--just your opinion on why she should join!! Coaches, Club, parents, players etc.--- lets see what you guys come up with!! and I have no ties to any team!!
Your fictitious 10 or 11 year old player should not join a club that is more than 30 minutes drive from your home at most. There are so many clubs with good coaching and training spread throughout the state.
If the fictitious 04 player is good enough, PDA is the way to go.Keeps you from having to change clubs later...
Maybe. It quickly it becomes an environment with much focus on playing in college. Probably not the best place for a family that does not value that path or see it as desirable.
I see PDA has multiple teams and locations?? are any locations better than the rest?
North is the best. All other are just feeders.
EDP flights and teams are subject to change.
How was odp today
Why are odp tryouts in early august? Seems that there would be better turn out during spring tryout season. Do they want lower numbers?
Odp ha what a joke at this age half or more than half of the trainers coach most of the girls there and all make it keep spending on false dreams of the usnwt if junior was truly good she would already be moved
Such a predictable response. Why not just answer the question. No one ever claimed any of these programs were perfect. They are what they are.
Let's talk about PDA 2003 team next year, how many Lyons will be starters? How many will stay down at 2004? I think WCFC and SDFC dominate the 2004 group next year, there teams are younger. And, vorhees will fall off the map.
Next year will be very different, just try and have fun this year before the big change.
Why you say Voorhees falls off the map that teams is almost all 04...I think that means they will be pretty good if they are a top team now and the core of the team stays together while other teams loose there best players they will still be strong..I meant loose best players as in 03 older girls..
I have a dumb question since I'm new to all this......Are they allowing 04's to play up with 03's when this change takes place or will everyone on the team strictly be made to play with their birth year?
At PDA, thet will be strict with birth year. Very very few kids play up anyway at PDA. 1 on Galaxy, 0 Lyon, 2 or 3 Strikers. They will be strict on age no matter the talent - especially at first. The truth is PDA will be the best at 03, 04,05 etc. the best players are there already and will continue to be...
None of you chumps out there know PDA's multiple team rosters vs SDFC or WC. None of you!!!At PDA North alone 6 teams factor into 03's & 04's for 2016-17!!! Current U13 A & B, U12 A & B, U11 A & B all have kids that will be part of those two A teams for ECNL/Pre-ECNL. Lyon is just a small part of it...
Why is everyone concerned about PDA and why they are doing. Worry about your own kid and team. PDA will be just fine. As the girls get older the team will be that much better. Stop trying to compete with them.
so if they do switch to this birth year thing - what happens to the girls who are currently playing up a year or two? Will they have to play with the appropriate age or still be allowed to play at there skill level? Does anyone know?
"Will they have to play with the appropriate age or still be allowed to play at there skill level? Does anyone know?"Their skill level can be debated. They will all be placed in proper age groups. Maybe, they can then PROVE their skill level and maybe things will change from there. Ex. Player playing up on the new U14's may not be SOO amazing on the 2002 team and will just stay there or Like the girl playing up on the Galaxy may not just go to Lyon tomorrow and be dominant, So she'll go to her age and figure it out. Lyon has no one up so nothing there. The Strikers have a few but they are for sure not going to ever play up so…Get ready to prove yourselves all over again!
PDA.......Parents Disgustingly Annoying
95% of the comments made about PDA are from people from different clubs. If they stop posting crap about PDA then all this nonsense would stop. Problem is they're all fixated on what PDA does.
IF the change to birth year is made for next fall in the upper leagues (edp, npl, ecnl, pre-ecnl) then I am sure the Aug-Dec '03's playing at u12 currently will be able to find other teams to play with. What I have seen in regards to those '03 players on more elite teams is that combining them with the other '03's hasn't really caused them to appear less affective on the pitch. Maybe a bit smaller in stature than the older 03's but they are still very good players.I am sure some other highly regarded teams will be more than willing to take them on as those teams will have to shed their Aug-Dec '02's thus creating roster space.Don't sweat it folks, it will all be okay.

What will be really funny is the Lyon posters who think their team and club is the almighty, changes their tune next year and starts ripping on the club when little Susie doesn't make the 2003 ecnl team and they end up at MF.
Dear pda parents if your club is so elite why are all of kids trained at other clubs always looking for training? ?????
Voorhees off the map? Where are they going?? Can we bid on their players? To comment on ODP, one of the first statements at National Training two weeks ago in Westhampton, NJ was National Training trumps ODP and other training programs and takes precedent over anything ODP does. Oh and its FREE!! Some could say ODP is B team.
Birth year or school year cut off is irrelevant. A one year age grouping is too small anyway. The age groupings should be two year spans to allow for proper placement of players based on ability, skill, motivation, interest, maturity etc.
totally agree with the last post!!
Did Voorhees break apart? I saw they are playing at Spirit United. What happened?
Voorhees did not break apart. They are business as usual.
When you look at the ecnl member clubs rosters and they post some birth years and not others, is that because they are 04 's and to young to list? Thanks
Its irrelevant information and no one's business other than the ref to be sure no player is overage.
It becomes relevant when looking to join a new team/club to see how your odds are with changes happening next year. I would be looking at my older and younger teams to see how new teams will stack up next year. It also effects who gets invited to natl team camps, they only take a select few from each calendar year.
Re: Calendar yearDo you think there is any chance that the leagues may run spring to fall as opposed to the current fall to spring cycle?I am thinking it may have to go that way.Main tryout cycles would occur in the fall as opposed to the current spring. Some clubs already have the twice a year tryouts anyway.
Seriously, national teams???Anyone trying to game that system by looking at various player's birth dates is bound to be disappointed when that does not work out. Not saying the system is devoid of game playing by any means. Connections and $$$$$$$$ will probably work better.
Hahaha @ national teams. Hey, I hope your DD is good enough for the nat'l team but I agree with $$ and connection angle more than how they group the players. You hear anyone changing to fall tryout for spring teams?
The good teams at this age are all very heavily weighted with 2003 birth dates. This starts to even itself out now, and by U15/U16 it will be largely gone. Obviously with the change to calendar year it doesn't go away, teams will just be more heavily weighted with Jan-June birth dates at the younger ages.
Any early spirit united predictions?
Spirit United will be Voorhees vs south shore final with south shore taking the win...
South shore is not even in the same bracket as voorhees in spirit tournament so that predication is impossible.
I would think the top teams in each bracket would face off.
South Shore could play Voorhees since there should be a playoff between bracket winners and then finalists. (at spirit united)South Shore makes sense as an opponent but given that it sounds as if Voorhees lost some key players, they may not make it to the final.Town teams have a really hard time staying on top from year to year.
So you're sayiing the mighty voorhees run is over at u-12. Shocking
What are u talking about.same bracket they would meet in the finals...Voorhees didn't loose any key players they picked up 4 really good players for the year so they have not fallen off. I guess people will see at spirit if they r better or worse.
Don't know for sure that Voorhees lost players that will make that much of a difference. Hence the "if" statement.Usually, if there is smoke, there is fire.Who knows if they were able to recruit much talent to build out the roster. You would figure that South Shore was more than able to maintain or improve that roster.Just have to say you're lucky that Lyon decided to stay home for this one.
In 12 team divisions they tend to run semi's and finals. The semi's would be bracket a 1 vs bracket b 2bracket a 2 vs bracket b1bracket c1 vs bracket d2bracket c2 vs bracket d1Final would be winners of semis. Voorhees in bracket a could meet South Shore out of bracket d.Then consolation matches.
There you go. God forbid someone doesn't talk about Lyon. You have to go throw there name out there. Give Lyon a break we don't care about them.your team is good but not great. Keep bragging about 11 years old girls wait to see in 3/4 years who are the top players.
Correction: bracket a 1 vs bracket b1 and bracket c 1 vs bracket d 1Then finals.No quarters in a 12 team.
The voorhees guy can't spell, but gives everyone else $hit when they spell the town wrong.
Thanks for all the concern regarding Voorhees. All good here. Lots of great talent down here in Slower Lower SJ. We will be just fine. See you on the fields.
Brackets are up for the Stars of Mass tourney!!
Love how everyone downplays Voorhees. Funny thing is, if Voorhees does not go Club for U13 every major Club will be banging down those parents doors to recruit those girls!

Looks like the Lyons have to play the team that always beats them.
It's their only competition in the region
It is 8/11 any idea on location and date of the next U.S. Training for NJ? Only three more Monday's left.
my girl isnt good enuff so i dont knowhow do you even get recomended for one of those
1248 - they need to play the rest of the teams to know that and not hide in older lower brackets.Let's see how you do against WCFC - they are solid team.

I think part of what hold Voorhees back is the difficulty in spelling their name.
Funny! If only they were Vorhees - nothing would stop them!
Lyons are 95% 2003 as starters - should really be playing in u13 group to see how good the girls are. they will be playing there next anyway.
Assuming the age change goes into effect, for next fall (2016), are the 2003s going to be considered u13 or u14? My daughter is 2004 and currently playing u12- so either she continues with her team and plays up starting next fall, or she plays age appropriate. If the 2003's are playing u13, she could likely play up with them, but not if they jump to u14. It's all very confusing to me.
Lyons are 95% 2003 as starters - should really be playing in u13 group to see how good the girls are. they will be playing there next anyway. Absolutely not true. You don't know the roster or the starters. Many 04's will be starting, have started and will start all season.
My daughter is in the same situation. However they technically label the new age group, these are the girls she is best suited to play. I just call it the 03 team.I am guessing that some of the other strong 04s on the current team will stay together with the 03s and also gain a few 03s that are playing U13 this year. Some of the weaker 04s will probably join the stronger 05s to form the 04 team.It will be interesting!
More Likely Fall of 2017, not 2016. Which for the 03s in this group makes them the most interesting when the change happens. Watch the bigger clubs use this as nudge to go full year and not have their kids play HS in the fall. Personally that would disappoint me. Some High Schools have great tradition and getting away from the club for 3+ months is not a horrible idea.
High school is rec.
