U12G / U12 Girls Youth Soccer

U12G  / U12 Girls youth soccer seems to offer the most teams and the widest diversity of talent.

Where these players will end up is anyone guess.

Welcome to the ride.

From historical results and seeing them all play, I would rank the non PDA remaining teams as follows:

NJX
NJ Force
IGFA
JPS
TSF

There is not a whole lot of difference for sure. All are pretty tight and could beat the others on any given day.

Anonymous said...

IGFA is based out of where Metuchen ? Wayne ?

Do they have their own fields?

How many teams do they have?

Anonymous said...

Here we go... Let the bashing start

Anonymous said...

If you don't like your child and enjoying fighting with other parents you should go to the Wildcats.

Anonymous said...

1. NJX the best of the group. Second best team on the state.
2.JPS- very balanced, play well as a team
3.IGFA-have an incredible player that will beat you.
4.NJ FORCE- defensive minded, lack scoring threat
5. TSF- terrible, easiest path again. Look at their posted scores this year.

Anonymous said...

2:35 I don't understand what you mean. I am just trying to get an honest opinion on the Wildcats as I am looking to make a change for my daughter. Thanks!

Anonymous said...

Out of those 4, I would say IGFA the strongest and a true up and comer to challenge the best in the state. After that, JPS definitely next. Personally wouldn't go near NJ Force or TSF.

Anonymous said...

2:42- Which part don't you understand? Actually, you might be a good fit for them.

Anonymous said...

2:42 - Thank you!

Anonymous said...

Hey, feel like MF black or blue might win their first EDP game this weekend. They have been so busy recruiting they forgot Spring season started 2 months ago.

Anonymous said...

2:45 - you have some issues?

Anonymous said...

How was the talent at odp tryouts last night?I know there was tip training last night. So I am sure that not all the top girls attended tryouts.Anybody have any thoughts that went to the tryouts?

Anonymous said...

JPS is a better team.

IGFA will drop off when top player is gone.

Anonymous said...

3;04 you do not say anything special. I could say:

NJX will drop off when all players are gone
Nj force will drop off when best players are gone
etc...

you should comment on the quality of the teams. to say that a team will not be good if the best players are leaving is an obvious thing.

at the moment i think NJX is still the best team , IGFA probably the second best of this group even if i still like NJ force

Anonymous said...

NJX and IGFA are only two teams listed that have next level players is what that says.... IGFA really just has the one.

Anonymous said...

There were no ODP tryouts last night. Last night was the first night of practice for all girls except for the new 2002 group who are still waiting on selection announcement

Anonymous said...

Is anyone trying out for Rage? I see they have tryouts every Tuesday and Thursday. Should I waste my time? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Anonymous said...

3:35. Rage, PDA Ajax and SJEB all good options.

Anonymous said...

2:42. Try JS Boca, better team than Wildcats.

Anonymous said...

JS boca must be better than PDA Storm also

Anonymous said...

2:16 who is TSF beating? that team is a complete joke

Anonymous said...

SJEB is a great club. U12 team is not the strongest but they play the right way. they have strong teams in every other age group. if i lived down south i would go to Ajax first then SJEB

Anonymous said...

I think PDA Dragons play them this week, storm beat them by a landslide

7 PDA Storm
2 Jersey Shore BOCA Jr., F.C. 01/02

Anonymous said...

SJEB has a few talented girls.I am not sure if they are staying with the club or moving on.Seems like alot of movement between this year and next.I will also agree they play the "right" way. They pass the ball alot and it seems like when they pass it to the weaker girls its lost.If the less developed girls develop like the few they have. They could be a force to be reckoned with.Only time will tell if the two or three with the soccer skills will move on to greener pastures or stick it out.L

Anonymous said...

Hey 2:47 I can understand your disparaging remarks about MF Blue but do you really want to go there with MF Black? What's the issue? Come on. Stand up. Let us know your issue. You don't even have to be a man/women about it as you can hide behind anonymous. So let it go. It can't be the cost - no one's making you pay. It can't be the coach-no one is making your daughter play. With other teams its behavior of the parents or the coach. Is that it? If not what?

it's no use arguing with people who want to pick fights. Take for example the earlier post calling the TSF team a 'joke.' Is it really necessary to call 12 year olds a joke? How ugly and mean spirited do you have to be?

Anonymous said...

To 5:14 PM

1. My daughter joined PDA following tryouts and the callbacks which followed, never having trained with the team before.

2. At least one girl from the B team was moved up to the A team the year my daughter joined the Club.

3. The sky is green. FACT!

See what I did there? One of the above statements (and only one) is false, but because I wrote "FACT!" after it, maybe no one will notice!

Anonymous said...

I've heard worse on this blog. Who cares.

Anonymous said...

9:21

Ok!

At least 1 girl from B team moved up to "A" team. Now that's funny. Your proud to say that? Ok, so 1 girl from B team in 3 years got pushed up to A team. Which by the way, U12 A team for PDA is the weakest U12 team PDA has had in YEARS. FACT!

See what I did there? One of the above statements (and only one) is false, but because I wrote "FACT" after it, maybe no one will notice! Or maybe its just the truth!

You have a better chance on the first team of any other club than you do being on any 2nd team. Its just the way it is.

Also, and for the most part, 99% of players that get brought to the top team of an ECNL club is already being talked about and noticed.

This guy at 9:21 is a rarity.

And yes, there are much worse things on this blog, just the truth hurts a little more!

Anonymous said...

There are four Dragons on the Storm. 4 of 19 is not too bad in my opinion and it shows you have a shot.

The Dragons started new at U10 and one player moved up in the winter of U10, then two more joined at the start of U11. A fourth joined at the start of u12. Not bad and probably better than most A?B team academy set-ups...

Anonymous said...

I'm all for promotion within the club - but if the girls aren't ready and you have new talent that is more developed - you can't turn away that talent just to promote from within. It wouldn't be a premier club if they did would it?

The WRONG thing in my opinion is to take new talent that is equal to current talent and skip their promotion for equal talent. That is another story.

I would hope that by paying these clubs a lot of money and trusting them to develop our daughters they would do the right thing. Sometimes we just have to back off and let the pros do what they get paid to do - develop our kids. I know easy to write on a board, no so easy in real life.

Anonymous said...

Okay it looks like the EDL NPL or EDP NPL what ever we call it these days might be adding some new clubs. First PDA South is NPL, PDA North is ECNL/NENPL now I find the below about the OBGC (Bethesda)

"OBGC girls Soccer–Rising U15 team tryouts for EDP National Premier League
Posted on April 8, 2014 in: U14 Girls

OBGC girls soccer forming a team for EDP National Premier League participation."

We know Quickstrike is joining the NYCSL NPL - is MatchFit also placing teams into multiple NPLs?

Any other Club rumors/facts like these?

Anonymous said...

I see someone explaining PDA's approach to A/B team. How about Match fit? Do they promote within?

Anonymous said...

Its still all about CRUSH in North Jersey. Expect a huge turnout at tryouts Tuesday.

Anonymous said...

Heading to Crush,STA,PDA tryouts

PDA Storm/Dragons
STA 01 NPL
CRUSH Tsunami NPL

Anonymous said...

crush still the best in New jersey. FACT!

Anonymous said...

Match Fit does NOT promote within!

Anonymous said...

Top 5, 10:34

All they have ever claimed to be

Anonymous said...

I don't know of any clubs that promote from within. If a player is one of those "bottom of the A team/top of the B team" types, the only way that player is going to make the A team is if a bunch of A team players leave.

The exception is the the strong player who switches to a club where they don't know her well and she gets misplaced onto the B team for a single season until the club gets to know her and realize their mistake. That's a player who gets moved up.

For the ECNL clubs, considering that the bottom half of the A team roster is at risk because of new arrivals, there is no way a B team player will move up.

Anonymous said...

Top 5 in GS because of all the tournaments you play, bound to win one that is weak.Top teams are all still in state cup. I would agree top ten.

Anonymous said...

I'd agree that 7 of the remaining 8 teams are top 10 in NJ. I'd move TSF out of the top 10, but not by a lot. Add to that list MF Falcons, Rage, and probably Wildcats, as much as I hate to say that. Despite the loss to Boca they've won enough other games to be in the conversation.

I don't care how you order them. It really doesn't matter. I'd say that's your top 10.

Anonymous said...

Nothing to do with points, 11:51

This is just off observation.

The top 5 from a while back remains unchanged. Keeping an eye on Rage and Crush, see if they bounce back well from recent SC defeats. But both are still in that group.

As before, Wildcats, Imperials, Ajax, IGFA make up four of the next 5, so numbers 6 through 9 in the division in NJ. The fifth (#10) would be debatable between a few teams.

Anonymous said...

I think the biggest misconception is that all b team players/parents are waiting for an invite to A team.

If you get it, of course you go. If you don't, you stay on the "b" team which will be a top 5 team in State( after you remove Storm and Falcons from local play)

Anonymous said...

"I think the biggest misconception is that all b team players/parents are waiting for an invite to A team.

I think that's true. But I don't think you see much of that perspective on this board because for the most part I think it is the A team parents who post the most.

Anonymous said...

Don't know about Rage. I hear a lot not happy and are looking to move. Several Rage players were seen at SJEB tryouts. Others will be trying out at other clubs during tryout season. Too bad, a lot of good players on that team, maybe other clubs can grab them.

Anonymous said...

The south is filled with solid players and many options.
Need more in the north, WCFC should be great being the only real option. Not sure why theybare not much stronger.

Anonymous said...

Considering SJEB tryouts haven't taken place yet, I'm going to guess you're just trolling. I wouldn't be surprised if some DID show up at tryouts, but you may want to wait until after that to start spreading rumors. Despite being a lesser team, SJEB should be attractive to southern NJ players for a lot of reasons, among them great training, spectacular fields, and most importantly an inclusion in EDL. Adding to what's already a strong core of players could boost SJEB significantly, and the right combination of RAGE girls would put them in a direction that's better than what RAGE is facing currently.

Anonymous said...

2:24 where would you rate WCFC compared to the top teams in NJ?

Anonymous said...

I know sje has a few strong players. If some of the rage did go over.To get trained properly. It would really be a strong team.Provided that sje dropped the bottom part of the the team.

Anonymous said...

Possible NYCSL NPL new editions 2014/2015

Quickstrike (NY)
Princeton Soccer Association (NJ)

Possible EDP NPL new editions 2014/2015
OBGC girls

PDA South to play in an NPL as well

Anonymous said...

RAGE has a daddy coach. Does that matter to anyone? Seems to be a big deal at other clubs.

Anonymous said...

My mistake, these rage girls trying out for the older SJEB, obviously you did not know because you were not there. So before you make some idiotic comment about there were no tryouts, get your facts straight. I should have been more specific, sorry. I am not trolling, I am stating facts.

Anonymous said...

Daddy coaches can be a negative. All depends on the talent of his/her daughter. If she is better she should play like the rest, but if she is a weaker player and she is taking a stronger players place, could be a problem in the long run.

Anonymous said...

Why would they be trying out for the older team?

Anonymous said...

The U12 team is not great.. The U13 team is. So is the U11 team

Anonymous said...

Everyone on this board should read this article.

Anonymous said...

I don't know why I'm getting deeper into this with some internet stranger who likes to start trouble, but the rising U14 SJEB tryouts haven't started yet either. Are they making the jump all the way up to u15 next year?

SJEB tryout schedules are available online for all to see. What in the world are you talking about? IF you no more stop speaking like this is some CIA secret and just say what you know.

Anonymous said...

Sje did not have tryouts for the older team yet.Just looked at the website.I can't imagine them taking girls to play up on that team from the Rage. The skills of the Rage girls would first need to be built up.I am sure they would bring up the two technical girls they do have. Before bringing up others from a new club.Just my two cents. But who knows.

here's the full link and some highlights

http://www.chicagonow.com/the-athletes-sports-experience-making-a-difference/2012/10/sports-the-benefits-of-competitive-athletic-sports-participation-in-todays-sports-climate/

Benefits

Mindset for Success:

This particular attribute encompasses a host of different concepts. As a competitive athlete one will need to

1. develop good time management skills,
2. create strategies for improving their skill set,
3. build a strong sense of focus and concentration,
4. develop internal skills for handling pressure,
5. learn how to take calculated risks, and when not to,
6. and take responsibility for ones success or failure.

III.Social

There are some definite and, most assuredly, positive social benefits to sports participation that are easily overlooked by many. This holds true for all athletes whether they compete in individual and/or team sports and activities. These benefits center on concepts such as

a. Cooperation:

Gaining a solid understanding of group dynamics and its role in the success and/or failure of a team is a common experience to all sports participants. Learning how to cooperate in a manner that is best for all and that enhances ones chances of accomplishment is of great value that goes way beyond the athletic field.

b. Teamwork:

Working toward a common goal is an integral part of the sports experience for athletes. It is through this experience that some grow into leaders and others into strong supporters, both of which a team will need to be successful. Finding their role on a team is a similar experience to finding ones niche in life, a definite life experience for participants.

c. Friendships:

Participating in sports gives athletes the ability to develop tight and lasting friendships with others who have common interests. This is a valuable experience that usually leaves them with lasting life long memories.

Another consideration in the A vs B team. Not every parent wants to travel around the country to play soccer. Time, travel and cost are huge considerations. I know some parents take turns traveling with the team but I would not be comfortable with that. I would feel terrible if she got injured and we weren't there.

My daughter participates in other sports and activities. She has missed some soccer practices and games. Our team has a big roster so I am not worried if we have enough players in her absence. Every player contributes to our teams success

Practices are competitive and fast paced. All the girls work hard and enjoy competing.

Cost- people say b teams pay for A teams. Maybe some does go to the A teams. Where does your cost go? Our annual cost is the same if not lower than all the other teams in the area which covers Fall, Spring and 4 to 5 quality tournaments a year.

My point is not that I think our b team is better than your daughters team. The b team works for us.

Anonymous said...

4:23- well put. Nobody can argue with PDA success.

Can anybody recommend some good summer soccer programs?

Anonymous said...

Did anyone attend Ajax tryouts tonight?Wondering the turnout.

Anonymous said...

First Ajax tryouts are 4/29

Anonymous said...

Did Crush lose 4 0 to north Rockland?

Anonymous said...

Looks that way, but they are still top 5 in state and that's all that matters.

Anonymous said...

How many of top teams girls made 2002 ODP just wondering if worth doing?

I know about $$$ and all that, but if there are some good players then I might consider and I like when the girls meet other players from other clubs and push each other to be better at training sessions.

Anonymous said...

"and push each other to be better at training sessions."

Isn't that what the ECNL clubs offer - but yet they get killed for a 3:1 ratio for practice to games.

So when you add up your kid's club team and add in the ODP you are almost at 3k if not over plus travel?
Is that so much better or cheaper that what the ECNL clubs offer?

Anonymous said...

NSR GIRLS U12 NJ STATE RANKINGS
[Last Update: 12/7/2013]

1. Match Fit Black (Bayonne, NJ)
2. PDA Storm (Zarephath, NJ)
3. NJX Celtic (Holmdel, NJ)
4. NJ Crush FC (Morris, NJ)
5. NJ Wildcats Averbuch (Upper Saddle River, NJ)

for those that don't like Gotsoccer

Anonymous said...

The positive for ODP is it is a separate group from the players regular team. It is always good to have a NEW experience. Yes the cost and travel are a lot. So is the commitment. It is a finite time frame and if a player wants to try and they make it it shouldn't matter to anyone else. Some people cannot make a commitment to 12 months of ECNL travel but want something more for their child.

In the end there is not one program that fits every high level kid.

Everyone here should have a cyber reunion in 10 years. If for no other reason but to laugh at ourselves.

Anonymous said...

2001 ODP stacked with talent. Would beat all the ECNL 01's.

Anonymous said...

The girls on OPD are paying much more, the clubs they are mostly coming from cost more than ECNL clubs.
Let's all admit what OPD was and is today. It was the avenue to take 15, 10 and maybe even 5 years ago. I understand it is a great for bragging rights and even website posting for people who need this, just like GS. This is good when bragging to your friends, that have no idea. I hear it all the time. If your child is that good and you have that kind of time and money, take the next move.

Anonymous said...

Where would Crush play N Rockland? If true, they must be a solid team that never gets discussed. I'm clueless.

Anonymous said...

@1044

Can you back up that claim with some detail, please tell us why they are so strong? Let me guess, we won't hear back from you.

EDP schedule for this weekend:

Anonymous said...

TSF beats Force? Then they can - on a given day - beat PDA Storm, Crush, Match Fit or other top teams in the division.

Anonymous said...

TSF didn't play Force. The lol was someone mocking the prediction of a TSF win tomorrow.

Anonymous said...

NYSC 5 SDFC Samba 1

Anonymous said...

Yes, Crush did lose 4 to 0 in NPL.
That is a blow out, can't keep losing this badly and often and still make claims of top 5 in state. Not to mention being taken out of state cup from a team you don't regognize as top 10.

Anonymous said...

How many players did you bring down from tsunami to play in that game? If you say none, very nice win.

Anonymous said...

A lot of these top GS point teams play too much soccer. These teams are so desperate for points the teams are over worked and very inconsistent

Anonymous said...

Anything possible in league play. Good teams more focused on developing all players in game situations.

Anonymous said...

Never seen another club do that. And then brag about too.

Anonymous said...

LOL, 5:47

It was Albertson Blue - not even sure if they are any good. Cant just slap a name on a mutt and have it win at Westminster

Anonymous said...

Breakers beat Storm today in a scrimmage 2-0

Anonymous said...

Albertson A-team loses NY Cup Quarter-final to Massapequa, 4-2, ugh!

Anonymous said...

Not surprised. Mass a pretty good group.

Anonymous said...

Yeah well Breakers are the #2 ranked team in US so…Not to mention they beat PDA a year ago in PDA tourney.

Anonymous said...

2-0 is a very respectable result against them, bravo PDA Storm!

Anonymous said...

Respectable? Joking right? If that were any other team, they would be bashed.

Anonymous said...

why would PDA come on here and post the score of a scrimmage?

Anonymous said...

pda storm parents never can admit they just got beat by a better team.
Always some type or excuse or other or something to complain about.
Team just not all that good.
One of the top teams in nj but no separation from rest of top 4 or 5 teams and not one of top 3 or 4 in region 1.

Anonymous said...

It was just a scrimmage , if it was a real game storm would have put more efforts and won the game. Let's not talk about a scrimmage please. PDA is the best development program.

Anonymous said...

They would be bashed if it was 4 or 5 to 0

Anonymous said...

"Team just not that good"

Well, results are lacking. I am not sure what else that means.

Even if they get to SC final.......

and win another shootout...

Better than losing, I guess.

Anonymous said...

11:58

Because my daughter is on it with some of the best u13 & u12 players in NJ. Almost every top team is represented. ECNL teams would not beat them. Set up a friendly if your program will let you. Probably not interested so they do not get embarrassed by all the bad talk about ODP.

Anonymous said...

pda storm last 5 games 0 wins and 1 total goal scored.
Shut out in 4 of those 5 games.

Anonymous said...

No coincidence that those are the 5 games played so far this spring since 3 new players were added and inserted into the starting lineup midyear. The chemistry of a good team is a very fragile thing and it has clearly been damaged in this team.
If it ain't broke don't fix it.
Team is struggling mightily to score goals.

Anonymous said...

PDA may need to bring in a new coach for storm. A fresh voice to come in and start over with the new mix of players.
Some of the players and their families who have contributed greatly to the teams success over the last 2 years feel slighted.
The 3 new girls walked in and were given their starting spots from day one. New players should have to earn their spots with performance and pay their dues.

Anonymous said...

Agree, struggling a bit, but all games are very close, not losing by 4 points consistently. That would worry me.

Let's see how state cup ends up, still in the fight for bragging rights.

Anonymous said...

6:57, points, really? Do you even know what sport you are talking about? You have lost all credibility with that comment, go back to the free-throw line, enjoy!

Anonymous said...

6:57 make mena sandwich

Anonymous said...

Make "me" a sandwich

Anonymous said...

Speaking of ODP - i know of at least fifteen 2002 girls that tried out... every single one made it... some of whom aren't skilled enough to start on a township team... I guess it's a big cash grab...

Anonymous said...

8:15 you're a pretty classy individual.

Anonymous said...

Anonymous said...

I am the 8:15 poster - Apologies to all.. should not have posted it. Mea Culpa. No excuses - dumb move.

Next post from 10:31 will be the disclaimer saying he just wanted the story and isn't the troll. Then his next post after anyone bites and gives score as losing team they will be bashed for losing to a team they are supposed to beat and/or making excuses, and if they give score as winning team they will be bashed for bragging and win will be ignored or devalued. Even being anonymous it takes a big man (or woman?) to admit when they've done something wrong. I don't have tolerance for the idiots who disparage the talents of 12 year old girls. But I really do appreciate that someone would come back on and say it was a mistake and they recognize it.

I was wrong. You are classy. Just flawed like the rest of us.

Anonymous said...

I like IGFA in that game, anybody else?

Wildcats too strong for IGFA

Anonymous said...

Will be a lot of booting in wildcats v gfa game. Not saying right or wrong, just the facts.

Anonymous said...

Let me say it for you, its wrong.

At this level the girls should be looking for passing lanes between defenders, keeping the ball on the ground, putting it in front of the attacking player.

You’re welcome NJ.

3:15 you are such a loser. All games in this division are tough

3:15 can't let go. Just a sad, sick, evil, bitter person. Wildcats are doing just fine without you thank you though for for thinking about us every day of your life. You should put as much thought and effort into your own family and team as you do trying to bash and undermine Wildcats. You are obviously wasting your time.

Great bounce back performance form Rage today.
After tough 1-0 loss to Ajax last week in state cup many on this blog were throwing dirt on Rage as a high level team in nj.
This is soccer, youth soccer with 11 and 12 year old girls, and ANY good team can lose a game by 1 goal or tie on any given day.
Strong teams often lose by a goal or tie these games in spite of having the better of play overall.
All it takes is 1 early goal from the underdog to inspire them and a tough day of failing to finish their chances from the favorite.
Sometimes it can be a great performance from the underdogs keeper. In soccer you need to let the whole season play out and judge a team based on a full season of games.far too much is made of 1 close loss or tie over the course of a long season.
In edp central except for games involving tsf every game between the remaniing 7 teams has been very competitive, either a tie or a 1 or at most 2 goal spread.
There is a lot of soccer to be played yet and when the season ends whoever is left standing as the top 2 or 3 teams will have proved themselves by negotiating a veritable group of death league schedule.. I predict EVERY team in EDP Central will lose at least 1 game when it is all said and done.
Enjoy your girls playing in this great league and against great comp every week. This is the very best thing for their development win or lose.

Thanks Ragerette! Good post.

Yes 5:13 we need to give more respect to these talented young ladies who play their hearts out and leave it all on the field in these extremely competitive games. Try and remember how lucky we are to have daughters who are talented enough to compete at this elite level. And to the coaches and trainers who give so much of themselves and their knowledge to prepare them. Try and enjoy it as I also have an older daughter who played at this level and I can tell you first hand it goes by quickly.
If your daughter doesn't make a team or is beat out for a starting spot by another player encourage her to use it as fuel to work harder on her game and persevere and next time she can earn what she desires.
Isn't that the life lesson we want them to take with them when youth sports is over and they go out into the real world.
What message does it send if you tell them it was all fixed or political or somebody messed them over. All that teaches them is to rationalize their failures and deflect responsibility and encourage them to quit when things don't go their way.

Nice to hear from a parent who has been there. Very good advice I think.
Wonder how many on this blog will take it to heart.
5:46 will probably will get bashed by the Knuckleheads for making too much sense.

5:13 here and I'm not from Rage.
Just used what happened to them after Ajax loss as an example.

To 5:13 & 5:46 ---

Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord; He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored; He hath loosed the fateful lightning of His terrible swift sword: His truth is marching on.

Glory, glory, hallelujah! Glory, glory, hallelujah! Glory, glory, hallelujah! His truth is marching on.

I have seen Him in the watch-fires of a hundred circling camps, They have builded Him an altar in the evening dews and damps; I can read His righteous sentence by the dim and flaring lamps: His day is marching on.

Glory, glory, hallelujah! Glory, glory, hallelujah! Glory, glory, hallelujah! His day is marching on.

Here come the knuckleheads. Shooting the messenger.
Wave your ignorance proudly like a flag. Feel sorry for your poor daughters.

I bet the troll had to copy the words to the song out of a book.

Wonder if his lips were moving as he tried to read the words to the song.
More likely he traced it.

Anyone attend sje tryouts?Wondering if there was any truth in Rage girls attending?

Anonymous said...

Someone said they haven't had their tryouts yet.

Anonymous said...

any score yet from tsf and force game?

Anonymous said...

Sometime practices used as tryouts, not opened to public. If they want your daughter enough they will be invited to the team practice.

Anonymous said...

EDP Central
Force 1 TSF 1

Anonymous said...

Needed result for TSF to get off the blank.
Force really falls out of it at 0-1-2.

Anonymous said...

Maybe but let's see how the rest of the season pans out. There are a lot of unplayed games. NJX hasn't even played 1st game yet

Anonymous said...

Can anybody guess why we are getting so many EDP results and standings this season? I don't remember this many last season, hmmmm.

Take a Wild.... guess. The Cats out of the bag.

Sounds like comments from coaches on this board making their teams look good when they really aren't. It's not always about winning and losing when people make comments about teams. Their daughters just have had enough from their coaches and trainers on the team and that's why they are moving on. Daddy coaches playing their daughters in prime positions every game leaving good players to play in positions to cover their daughters butts when she screws up, hoping his daughter will score. Those same coaches making comments about "no child should have one position" but their daughter never changes position. This is why daddy coaches need to go. The daddy coach needs to focus on every girl's development not just a few on the team. This IS a TEAM sport, not geared toward a few on the team. Every girl should have the opportunity to show their full talent, not just a few who complain the most . Your team going down because you have weak players , time to clean house.

6:58 could be rage or matchfit black. Whether accurate or not , this is the perception that exists on teams with daddy or mommy coaches.
And often it is accurate, even sometimes when the daddy coach doesn't necessarily see he is favoring his child. Just a natural tendency to see our own child as a stronger player than she actually is.

Anonymous said...

Hey poster 5:13 you stated " sometimes it takes a great performance from underdogs keeper" maybe you might be her daddy. Nice comment, but your daughter needs to learn to stop the balls rolling to her on the ground before talking about "great performances" . The team is good without her. I hear you're a big kiss asser. I saw you lining the field before the game, trying to get some brownie points? Where you gonna go if this team folds since you can't be rostered to the u11 team since they're capped? Even the coach knows she's not that good, since he was heard many times making comments about her ability.

Let's talk about more important stuff like state cup. What games do we have coming up?

Anonymous said...

8:07: at our club, issues like this are dealt with face-to-face. Nice work going after another family and 12 year-old anonymously. Your parents must be proud!

njx vs force this weekend. a good chance for force to get back on track with a huge upset win.
also ajax and storm will be an interesting game.

Anonymous said...

Looks like the Nasty Troll has a relative on the blog now. Maybe they can both get on the same team.
McFilthy and McNasty.

Anonymous said...

Let's talk about why you play the game. State cup! Any confirmed games that we know about?

Anonymous said...

State Cup

Ajax vs JPS Saturday

NJX vs NJ Force Sunday

Anonymous said...

8:30, you are absolutely right, lets discuss Sate cup:

Atletico will play the winner of the game between WC Charlton and East Meadow Hotshotz, that will be a great game. In the other bracket NYSC will face Massapequa who beat Albertson Fury Red.

The final is 6/8 at the HBC Complex, hope to see everyone there!

Anonymous said...

Thanks for bringing the topic back to the point, SC! here are my PREDICTIONS

Ajax vs JPS- Great game. JPS a very good team that doesn't come out here bragging about their wins. They play good soccer and are balanced on offense and defense. Ajax very similar to JPS. Win games, divisions and Tournaments but don't come out here boasting. They are tough to score against but I think they're used to tough opponents and win Ajax 2-1.

Storm vs TSF- Storm going to run them off the field. TSF a good team, but can't play with the better teams. Storm 4-0

NJX vs Force. 2 teams very familiar with each other. Force will load up the box to keep it close but can't score against good teams. NJX has to be careful not to look ahead to Storm in finals. NJX 2-0

IGFA vs Dragons. IGFA big, fast and physical. Will have a nice warm up game vs NJX this week to prepare. Dragons smart, fast and control the ball but IGFA will overpower them 3-1.

9:37, very good notes.

P.S. Who do you like in the game between WC and Hotshotz?

Anonymous said...

9:37- I agree with your picks. If you had to seed the the Elite Eight, what would you do? Heres my guess:

1. Storm- Haven't lost in this format in 2 years?
2. NJX- Play big games all the time.
3. Ajax- Same as NJX, always playing good teams.
4. IGFA- Have a dynamic player that is always a threat.
5. Dragons- Big win at Crush, beat Force last Fall in this environment
6. JPS- To be fair, haven't seen them play in a while. Going by GS listed games. They beat Ajax before, but can't find any other good wins.
7. Force- Agreed they are tough on D, play tough teams but have not won a game against top teams.
8. TSF- Good team, probably would rank the in the 12 to 15 range.

All 8 teams deserve to be here. Don't be offended by a guy killing time at work trying to rank you.

Good luck and enjoy it, not easy to get there.

Anonymous said...

9:56- To be honest, not that familiar with both. Who would be considered the favorite and why?

Anonymous said...

fair evaluations of the remaining teams. I would put AJAX vs JPS at a coin flip, IGFA 2-1 over Dragons.

I have a conspiracy theory, I call the "NJX B team".

I think the Wildcats (NJX B team) are a team made up by NJX. Think about it:
1. Wildcats extremely obnoxious.
2. Describe each win in great detail and hide after bad losses or blame conditions.
3. Get all their GS points by playing the most games.
4. Brag about regular season games.
5. Try to kick the ball out of the back up to the forwards.

NJX has stayed off this board and now people are starting to respect their team more. I think they created the Wildcats, with the their crazy parents, to divert all negative attention way from themselves. It's brilliant!

Anonymous said...

Jesus.. leave the Wildcats alone already. Are you that stupid that you can't see trolls posing as Wildcats parents to make them look bad? The team is greatly improved from last year and well coached. Not the style of play I enjoy watching, but they win and have 2 forwards that would start on most teams in this age group.

I will agree that the coach is very annoying, as are a couple of the parents (yeah I'm talking to you fanny pack guy)

But I was standing among some of the Wildcat parents at the PDA tournament and they were nice guys and complimentary of their competition.

They were yelling out to the opposing keeper nice save, and nice ball, to field players. Not at all the way the team/parents as a whole is portrayed on this board.

Anonymous said...

I had a very long weekend, I am very upset as many other parents on our team. I can't fathom the idea of 2 new players starting right away as they just joined our team mid season. Many unhappy parents regarding this topic. My question is why?

I have asked my coach, his reasoning that I am being provided. "Need to see if these kids will fit on this team". I personally find this as a BS answer. You don't start kids to see if they will fit, they come off the bench and earn their spot. To drive up to MA this weekend and lose both our games convincingly is a bit disturbing.

Yes our club won State Cup, good chance to win NJ Cup. Does this really matter? Our team can't beat the other ECNL clubs

10:50 Your a joke, nice try.

Anonymous said...

11:07 "You're" Nice try.

Anonymous said...

LOL, lets pretend that was really a Storm parent:

1. Regular season games and scrimmages are exactly where you try players out. You think a starting spot or position is a birth right?

2. All these "upset parents" will be pinning tryout numbers on their daughters next month.

3. Your daughters play is probably affected by your long conversations in the car about who's playing over who.

You'll be standing on that hill next month watching tryouts hoping more good players don't come.

Anonymous said...

10:06 I think I like the Charlton team, they are tough, and have played the Hothotz well in the past, plus its a home game for them, but either one will have a tough game against Atletico in the semi-finals, they have played the Hotshotz to a 0-0 result in NYSCL, and are very scrappy, and within the format of 9 v 9 on a smaller pitch, well you know, anything can happen. NYSC lucked-out by having an easier draw, but they will be challenged by Massapequa, who are also physical, and playing at home.

Anonymous said...

sounds to have problems at PDA

Anonymous said...

11;14, very funny, bravo!

Anonymous said...

Any parent or coach, concerned about the scores in scrimmages and league play at this age is a dope!

Games and scrimmages is your daughters "tryout". A good coach, will move players around to see them play the game from different perspectives.

By the time your team is having tryouts your coach knows your daughters strengths and weakness. All coaches will be looking at new players.

Anonymous said...

Yes, lots of problems at PDA. If your daughter is any good do not send her here, I mean there, for tryouts.

Signed,
Parents who's daughter is on the bubble.

Anonymous said...

Can someone with experience, please tell me when will the games matter?

Anonymous said...

only when PDA wins.

Anonymous said...

12:15- I think you can start putting more emphasis on games during the Spring of U14. By then more players are dedicating themselves to soccer, there won't be such differences in physical maturity, and the players will begin to understand and read the game better.

If a coach or club is telling you about scrimmage and game scores then RUN! They are selling you, not developing you.

Anonymous said...

Now why would the games matter at u14?

Anonymous said...

Of Course Results matter. Maybe not to us parents. But if your kid is busting their horns to play in a State Cup game that sends them to a Regional Event or a League Game that sends the Flight's champion to a National event. Of Course the results matter to the kids, the coaches (who are also trying to develop) and the Club (build up their brand). Who are we kidding?

Let's get off this development high horse and call it what it is.
If my kid cares then I care and yes I will find boards that talk about them.
