Calvert a top team. Quit trying to make a case otherwise.
Who cares who Calvert beat. There will be different teams at this tournament. They aren't going to roll over and give Calvert a win and Calvert isn't going to roll over either. Let them play the games. Isn't that what a tournament is about?
edp cup tourney this Saturday looks like rain. will give lesser teams advantage. of course the tanks will get stuck in the mud, the machine guns will be sloppy shooting at net with wet fields and balls. and defensive positions will falter due to slippery ball, hence keepers will be in hell. Patton beat the Panzer divisions using same advantage back in day. history does repeat itself.
I know it has been discussed here. Does your club prohibit coaches from privately training their players outside of the team in any way?
12:25 Aint no maybe about it.Look at PDA Dragons entire Gotsoccer game listThen look at Calvertand yes, equating 1-1 tie with a 1-0 loss is quite silly.
Come on, are we really on this topic again? Can we not? If your coach trains privately and you don't like it, leave. Or deal with it. Or get some training. But if your daughter isn't getting the playing time you think she deserves, it's very possibly not because of whether or not she get's private training. Please can we just move on to more tournament talk? Second flight of EDP not half bad either...someone please discuss.
MF NPL playing WC and FC Stars on Saturday. Some good competition.
1:08- Got Soccer doesn't capture a teams full resume. People have a hard time separating results from previous years. Rage was often over hyped because of success at younger age groups.Teams change, improve, and add new players. Calvert a good team, not a great team anymore. Maybe they lost players, maybe other teams are improving at a faster rate?
Look, I see no issue with coach training privately. So if I want to pay my coach to train my daughter privately on Saturday mornings or whatever, I see huge value in that if you like the coach/training. We have done privates before, what you get out of a one on one is very valuable. edp second flight interesting. but edp open cup will open eyes I feel after first round.
Very true 1:29.A team like PDA storm's biggest advantage is depth. There are so many players hurt on this roster yet they continue to roll. That's the key to success for PDA.
1:21 Yes, there is a nice collection of teams playing in the friendlies this weekend. Results won't be posted in GS, but the competition will be good.
Where is PDA Storm rolling?
And please - lets be above the "well, we have injuries......." excusemaking. All teams do.
Just curious I will compare PDA Dragons to Calvert, no problem. But why PDA Dragons and not Ajax or MF NPL - I mentioned all 3?I said these 3 teams get no love for beating up the lesser teams which Calvert can't do going by their EDP results.PS. How is a 1 goal diff game any different than a tie? besides the obvious one is worth 3 points and the other only 1? You might have seen both of these games - I didn't see either - but I will do the compare for you only u13.PS. Come on it's fun talking about a different team
PDA is the only team that gets injured because the other teams aren't playing at their level..lolThey have one player that changes the look of that team dramatically. I don't care how big the roster is.
Wildcats - LStars of Mass - LNJX - LFSA - LSachem (Atletico) - LCup Gold - L
You can't look at U-12 results to compare with U-13 results. Teams have changed too much.
1:55- Agreed 100%
I also think depth helps this year as girls adjust to 40 minute halves and no unlimited substitutions.
Hey 12:06 PM, ECNL/NPL team can't play because of scheduling issues with their leagues. NJYS makes you play the game on certain dates and that's when you have to play them, it's not like US Club where you have a certain date to play the game by. So if a team is in Connecticut or Massachusetts the weekend of a scheduled NJYS a cup game how are they supposed to play the cup game. Teams play the US Club when it works for both teams as long as it's by so and so date. These teams travel some distance and to play their games and the dates are set long before cup starts, usually 3-5 teams are scheduled to play and the games are played back to back because they all travel far for them. BTW those leagues only want teams to play one match a day. I guess your kid must play MOSA, JAGS or EDP and your not aware of how the game is played in ECNL/NPL so to speak or you just wanna stir the pot. You should really educate yourself before you make silly/ignorant statements like that.
1:52PDA does have a lot of depth- and yes they have that one player, but they have been doing just fine. And they will continue to do well throughout the years. The team has significant depth and a lot of talent on that team. The team will only get stronger as more top players in the state knock on the doors. Can you say 25 player roster!
In looking at the rosters for the PDA ECNL clubs from U14 to U18 shows between 20-23 players on each roster. Anyone have direct insights?
Rosters are from the ECNL website.
I'm pretty sure the game is played with 11 players per side, a round ball on a field in MOSA, JAGS or EDP and yes even ECNL/NPL.
If you are just 'pretty sure' then maybe there is an issue hmmm?
@1:21pm blogger get your facts straight. MF npl is not playing those teams on saturday. They wouldn't be here posting who they're playing in a friendly since it's just that a friendly. Worry about your own team!
Hey 2:11. You're off and here's why. Several NPL and ECNL teams are playing EDP Tournament. Thems the facts. Your NJX team is just "out of it" on many, many levels.
There are no NPL games on schedule this weekend.
that was mature, you m use be from PDA
I think its NJX vs East Meadow ECNL and NJX vs Crush Pretty good tuneups for league play
With the Pre-ECNL and NPL schedules being spread out, it makes sense to have friendlies. Better than not playing or traveling to some tournament many hours away.
Just curious, what language is "you m use be from PDA"?
OK I will use my Google translator for future Kazakstani posts.
It's called Kazakh, you uncultured dolts.
She is my sister. She is number four prostitute in all of Kazakhstan.
Where dis everyone go??????
Pre ECNL and NPL teams traveling a lot for league play. Maybe they are playing friendlies and smaller local tournaments to avoid another weekend on the road.Good Luck to all NJ teams playing out of state tournaments this weekend.
8:23, great message, but you left out the more important State, so good luck to all the New York Teams playing in tournaments this weekend.
Good luck to FSA this weekend. They will be coming home with a cup.
yeah, a coffee cup...
I've seen the WAGS and Discovery Cup brackets. Could someone please post the other relevant brackets? EDP Cup?
Looks like there is a Storm brewing this weekend, and I don’t mean the lousy weather forecast. Go Atletico!
9:11- FSA fan- Why do the Conn teams start playing NPL league games so late?
Because apple-picking season got in the way!
For all parents, especially parents of goalkeepers!http://www.nbcnews.com/nightly-news/how-safe-artificial-turf-your-childs-sports-field-n221676
Just read that article.. shocking. I hate those little black things all over the house.
The list at the end of the segment is very sobering, they are all freaking GK’s, very disturbing. Parents, remind your players to avoid those little black pellets at all costs, simply not enough science available to judge either way, better safe than sorry. P.S. If your child gets a turf-burn, clean-out the area with soap, and apply anti-biotic.
Weather outlook is better for this weekend.. I think we will see a weaker Storm than expected by 2:25 PM
Storm playing local so girls 15-24 get some meaningless minutes this weekend and feel part of the club again.
that will be the excuse when they lose.
Wait, there's another team that makes excuses when they lose? I thought that was just the Wildcats.
12:46, that is harsh, even for this board, geez.
harsh but true.Part of what is needed to keep those over 18 player limit rosters viable and paying.
that is scary, my daughter is keeper since U9. plays for school and EDP. Not much turf play really, mostly grass. we bump into turf once in a while and we DO NOT train on turf fields. but thanks. The BEST post every on this blog. I cannot thank you enough, this is great reason for this blog, to potentially save a life, would make this blog all the worth while. God Bless At least be careful

Atletico kills EM which is one of the better teams if not the best team in Pre-ENCL flight. Also claims are made that Atletico is Sachem which tied and beat Storm at Regionals. Also Calvert looks like a good team, not sure they will be tested as their EDP league people took care of them and gave them a nice bracket (the other bracket has 2 pre-ecnl teams and the EM killer) , NJCSA elite is on fire but some posters say it’s the EB/Manalapan team – should be an okay team I think? TSF big question mark.
These were the only 3 events mentioned on the board so i won't go any further.PS. Thanks
Oh-no, please continue, would love to hear about the Belgian youth soccer tournament in Brussels this weekend, do tell Kreskin.
Wags wild card team:TFAEasy to knock them for their 1-3 GS record....The three losses were to #1 from Illinois, Missouri and TX (who is #1 national)Good luck to Wildcats. Tough endeavor.
Not knocking them just posting the results you make what you will. You an be like 3;15 and not care or you can take them for what they are some scores nothing more.I went with PWSI because they have the best chance to win 2 games and outscore the other team by a few goals not because I think they are the best team of the non-division winners. The other 2 brackets look a little deeper. No knock on Harford and NYSC - they just slipped a few times this fall.Harford and NYSC combined W7, T4, L6, GD -5
What are you using for GS results? Every game listed in the history? Every recent game? Games against Top 25 regional?
u13 only. Aug 2014 +1:35 I'm a little disappointed you got Brussels wrong. Didn't know you were a fan of European Soccer. (Host country: Latvia)Teams Pts1 Belgium Belgium 62 Belarus Belarus 33 Wales Wales 34 Latvia Latvia 0

Re: 3:10"TSF big question mark"This is a step up fro being considered a walkoverThey have added some nice talent and seem to have it going in the right directionCould see some defections from ECNL masses end up there in time - on their good skills teaching and their reputation.
3:50It appears he is using GS games from this season, but is including summer games
Tennessee team is the sleeper of the group.......
What summer games did I include.the 2014/2015 season starts in August.Did I mess up? It's possible had to do it on the fly.
Why are posts going up so late?
Anyone going to the EDP Cup this weekend want to meet for a blog face to face?
Sure, I will meet you there!
11:15 by the big oak tree?
I will be the one who is cheering for his kid, louder than everyone else, even you. But do not be afraid to approach me, for I am very friendly, and my kid is better than your kid, but I won't tell you that in person, I will wait until next week, so that I can hide behind my anonymous persona.
P.S. Please stop by the Calvert Crew tent on your way through, they have free drinks for everyone! They will be hard to miss, but I think they like it that way. Remember, just stop by the big black tent, and say:“Hi folks, we are with the other team, but we heard that you guys are giving out free drinks, any Scotch left?
oh, almost forgot, if you happen to see the Confederate battle flag, no need to fear, its about heritage, not hate. Toodles.
blog is so quiet today.. all the FSA parents must be making the long drive down to Hammonton already
If I see Confederate Flag I will rip it down and put an American flag up, we won the war!!!

october 6 10:08pm-"Wow Wildcats in top flight at WAGS?""They are gonna get slaughtered".Wrong again.
Thanks for the update wildcat coach. I had forgot you coun ties as wins.
Just shows how weak wags is if kitty cats tie, forgot they got force keeper who is an awesome player. Guess she kept them in the games.
Give the cats their due. They go "toe to toe" with some of the best.
Saw cats coach, looks like a broken down old guy with a team that can't beat any good teams. Nice try kitty cats..
Again, they are going toe to toe with some of the best teams around. What other team in NJ does that? And consistently enters tough tournaments. Storm can't even Say that. Give them some due.
PDA Storm is a Mediocre team. I saw them play STA and FSA.They are nothing special. NJ has an issue with either bad coaching or little concentrated talent.
When did Storm play STA?
LOL- Wildcats winless streak in big tournament continues. Look at the bright side, gas is only $3 a gallon.
Bad Coaching, not enough talent and program issues. It's all about the Cha Ching now. Anyone know the scores from the Matchfleece Friendlies?
Storm played STA today and looked like STA had better of play in the game0-0 tie
If PDA team is the best you have in NJ then you are in trouble. STA team not much better.Just a sad situation for the state of NJ.NJ monopolizes this blog like their teams are some of the best in the region, after what I saw today, its not even close.
Maybe the best team is the Wildcats? Taking on the top teams.
Didn't the Storm fire the current coach because he wasn't getting it done last year? Then they bring him back because O'Neill gets the Rutgers job. Something not right.
Its Embarrasing for top clubs.Maybe PDA played their bench?
7:38NJ Monopolizes this blog and fight with each other for the State of NJ. Outside of NJ, the top 3 teams have not won anything. All they do is come on here and argue about who is better than who.
Get off this blog. This is a NJ blog that focuses on PDA, MF, Wildcats and Boca. Please stay off.
Blog Admin is a scumbag, has my IP address on auto to wipe my posts. Scumbag asshole die motherfucker!!!!!!!!!
well 7:56They should keep quiet. This is the first time for me taking a look at these NJ teams and the quality of play was Weak..Defense on both teams did a good job keeping the other team in check but the other players were very mediocre. I saw nothing but Panic on both teams.
It's our blog and we'll cry if we want to, cry if we want to!!!!!!!!!
"Calvert is now definitely part of the conversation"- They always wereSome nitwit comparing a handful of games where C Crew either didnt score enough or lost to a local foe - decided they were fadingSounds like it was a great game. PDA continues to lose to top clubs of late (that is now 6. I named the other 5 earlier.
Ajax girl (or was it more than one?) playing for Storm might explain the 4-0 loss Ajax took to MF Black
What happened to the tsf over the weekend saw them play not good at all . Spoke to a parent not happy .
This weekend at World ClassTeams in attendance:World Class ECNL, World Class NPL, PDA Ajax, Match Fit ECNL, Match Fit NPL, Match Fit Black, NJ "Crush, NJ Crush White, East Meadow ECNL, FC Stars ECNL, FC Stars North, Greater Binghamton. This was a great competitive weekend.I was able to record most scores, while some I read on this blogSaturdayWC ECNL 1-0 PDA AjaxWC ECNL 3-1 NJ Crush WhiteWC NPL 0-1 NJ Crush WhiteWC NPL 0-0 MF BlackMF NPL 1-1 EM ECNLMF NPL 1-2 Stars NorthEM ECNL 1-1 MF NPLEM ECNL 1-0 Stars ECNLMF ECNL 4-0 NJ CrushMF ECNL 2-1 Stars ECNLMF Black 4-0 PDA AjaxMF Black 0-0 WC NPLStars North 2-1 MF NPLStars North 3-1 NJ CrushNJ Crush 0-4 MF ECNLNJ Crush 1-3 Stars NorthNJ Crush White 1-3 WC ECNLNJ Crush White 1-0 WC NPLStars ECNL 0-1 EM ECNLStars ECNL 1-2 MF ECNLPDA Ajax 0-1 WC ECNLPDA Ajax 0-4 MF BlackSundayWC ECNL 2-3 Stars ECNLWC ECNL 1-1 Greater BinghamtonWC NPL 0-2 NJ CrushWC NPL 2-3 Stars NorthStars North 1-1 EM ECNLStars North 3-2 WC NPLMF ECNL 2-1 Greater BinghamtonMF Black 1-1 NJ Crush WhiteNJ Crush 2-0 WC NPLGreater Binghamton 1-2 MF EcnlGreater Binghamton 1-1 WC ECNLMy point of view: Many teams had light benches, unsure why. Maybe injuries could have hurt some teams play. MF ECNL won every game, team moved ball very nicely. This team created many scoring chances. Very clever team. Fast and pose great skillEast Meadow- moved all players in and out. Performed very well, it was quite obvious team got every player in. Took out main player, which we never see during regular play.Stars North- team looked very good, had 2 very solid players. In my opinion this team is just as good as Stars ECNL teamNJ Crush- I hate to admit this, team does not belong with upper level teams. I was disappointed with our teams play. I hope our play improves as some of our players coming back from injuries.MF NPL- Played physical, fast. Biggest difference between ECNL team and NPL team is play. It was very evident this team can only play direct, this team will be in every game for now. Will have a hard time by next year or next spring unless they start to move ball and play possession. I just do not think the teams current personal can obtain this type of play unlike the ECNL team. I can see why MF chose North team as ECNL team. (did not see 2nd game)Stars ECNL- very technical team, great small ball team. Applies quick pressure. Very well coached team. PDA Ajax- first game vs WC game I would call it. Sluggish. Neither team looked great. Vs Black team OUCH. Black team took it to themMy biggest surprise: MF Black team. This team has improved since the last time I have seen them. Really moved ball around. Have to learn to finish on opportunities. Team should improve by Spring time.WC ECNL- I personally did not believe this team played at its normal level of play.At times, teams play was very sluggish. Unsure why, still able to play with every team despite overall play. I have no comment on Greater Binghamton. Was unable to see them play, heard from parents that this team plays very physical and direct similar to MF NPL team.
5:19 Who do you think was the better team????
8:08PDA almost there- Not quite yet-but almost. : )
@ 4:55Put the crack pipe and keyboard down for a few. Let us all know when this beatdown took place first though.
MF ECNL beat Crush by 3, not 4-0Did they really win all 4 games? Excellent club. I would have to favor them in spring state cup play.
I believe that poster has njsa galaxy mixed up with njsa elite team
GREAT job 8:25!!!!I'm the "nitwit" that just talks scores when comparing teams (I know a score doesn't tell you the story like actually watching a game - but it is the only way to measure teams right or wrong).Using your scores:WC ECNL (W2, T1, L1, GF7, GA5)WC NPL (W0, T1, L3, GF2, GA6)MF ECNL (W3, T0, L0, GF8, GA2)MF NPL (W0, T1, L1, GF2, GA3)MF Black (W1, T2, L0, GF5, GA1)EM ECNL (W1, T2, L0, GF3,GA2)Stars ECNL (W1, T0, L2, GF4, GA5)Stars North (W3, T1, L0, GF9, GA5)PDA Ajax (W0), T0, L2, GF0, GA5)NJ Crush (W1, T0, L2, GF3, GA7)NJ Crsuh White (W1, T1, L1, GF3,GA4)Greater Bing (W0, T1, L2, GF3, GA5)
galaxy vs elite - both njsca teams pretty equal.Neither one has showed much this season. Maybe they should combine best players on one A team.
I am 8:25, I typed in wrong score. yes it was 3-0 MF over Crush. I apologize!
4:55You were completely wrong. The team the Calvert beat 6-0 was the NJCSA Elite team and has nothing to do with The Galaxy. The Elite team are girls from Manalapan and East Brunswick.
Here WC ECNL was the U14 team? Any confirmation?
Poster 8:25. 5:19 here. That depends how you look at it.PDA had significant possession. Calvert Crew Chased a lot but made the most of their chances.PDA pretty dynamic but is missing final punch.Since this is u13, it would appear PDA has the brighter future.Good showing for NJ
NJCSA (Galaxy, I guess) got off nicely over the summer. Shouldnt be discounted right now, especially if the team has a good number of NJ Force playersThey'd actually be a key player in SC if they didnt err on their application.(Yeah, I know the field is "weak", blah, blahhhhhhhh)
9:12 what are you referring to?I do not see 8:25 commenting on any teams future
Gotta luv the MF ECNL posting about their results and then ripping on MF NPL and their styleWonder why they didn't play each other since these were friendlies hmmm
Why are people always pitting NPL vs ECNL team from Match Fit?Parents are happy at both locations, teams are working together not against each other. Both teams are aware of these circumstancesAll the outsiders would love to see a problem between NPL vs ECNL. Sorry guys both teams are in great places
Wildcats another bad tournament. You were the highest ranked team in the weakest bracket.Don't win a single game and your bracket winner can't make finals?Wildcats are all talk! Have not won a tournament game at U13.
Really 10:22? You could also say they have not lost a game in these tournaments. Sounds like a comment from the NJSCA guy.
Working together???? Laughable. That's not what I am hearing. A lot of slickness going on over at Match Fit.
yes 9:03 njsca elite are girls from manalapan and EB, but it is ex wildcat manager from freehold pulling the strings from behind the scenes with NJSCA Elite Team.He is also the increasingly disturbed person posting inane comments claiming wildcats should be disappointed after not losing a game in toughest bracket at WAGS Cup playing top teams in states of Va and Illinois to ties. 18 months after leaving wildcats team he still can't let go. Calvert 6 Elite 0- Hows your new latest team doing?
BOCA! Not just one. Saw them twice today. good team.
Actually our team had a meeting just recently, this meeting provided all of us a lot of insight about the future. There will always be people on this blog pitting our teams vs each other, can't stop that. While every other team parents are knocking us as well.I truly do not believe the post was from a MF north parent. If people knew schedule, this poster would not be able to provide views that this individual provided.
Impossible for someone to see that many games and be there for all those teams. Sounds Slicky and Shady to me.
Wildcats can hang with anybody, because they are fit, play hard, have some strong players on the backline, and a very good keeper. But they don't pose any real offensive threat at the higher levels because they lack diversity. Relatively easy to defend for the better teams. Struggle with ball distribution in front six. Strong defensively and subpar offensively resulting in a bunch of 0-0, 1-1 games. Watch them play another good team and form your own opinion.

7:56 nothing shadyI posted scores, I asked the question how did you do vs insert team name for games I was not around for or around at end of game. I provided insight on games I saw. Showing up hour early allows you to watch earlier games, sticking around between games allows you to watch additional games. I did not provide game by game break down as I did not sit to watch every game in its entirely. Reason for brief descriptions.
Got Soccer guy, who gets points this weekend?
Looks like STA had a good showing at EDP Cup.
9:28pm….5:19 herei was trying to be careful not to take a way a well deserved victory for Calvert Crew. Both teams did a great Job.PDA a lot more dynamic in movement of the Ball. They were the better team. But you have to put it in the back of the net.Calvert's speed of play was too slow as the NJ team would close in -take the ball and start to pass the ball around the field. switching the field back and forth as to keep Calvert on their heels.
9:33 To many variables. Basically anyone that played in a GS event this weekend and placed. Let's see how much rankings change over the next few days and how it compares to Top Drawer rankings I posted. And for those of you that like the NSR Rankings. I think they are a little behind. Watched boca as well this weekend. After all the talk on this blog thought it was worth it. Completly dominated finals and could have easily been a 6-0 game from what I saw. Showed some nice field play and may be an upcoming team to watch. Not sure what the actual score was but see it was posted as a 2-0 loss at the tournament. Anyone know what happened? Did they get disqualed after play?
I did see BOCA score first blood, not sure how they lost, it was a disqualify? Calvert looked good, girls great center of gravity, but PDA has to bring it and win this home turf tournament, but close enough I gather. NJCSA Galaxy working on it, GFA makes finals against Brick and loses to Brick Fury U14 - good program at Brick, GFA team coming back at U14, newer players from up north. Doug Miller played some good matches out of NY, they played rough. Referees some good some bad, couple of ambulances on fields yesterday, concussions at EDP. Disaster on Saturday getting in and out, many complaints, kids missing matches on Saturday. EDP Cup seems place to be again, WAGS was good, but EDP Cup drew the best from all over, hard to say.
@10:11 BOCA had to win. Score must be an error, we saw them with their medals (they were wearing pink for awareness so sure it was them)
8:56 thanks for posting but those Top Drawer rankings have braddock road as #3 in nation.they were weakest team in WAGS Cup flight.
8:12 you left out very organized on D.They hustle and cover for each other all over the field. And their defenders really "bring it" when they tackle and go up for head balls.Agree they need to create more chances and they need to develop a player who is a dependable finisher up top vs top teams. Very dangerous team on restarts.

Calvert, they are too good for this tournament, make sense? They ran through the platinum at EDP Cup. Lets be honest, PDA was only team to give them headache in finals.
I saw most every team play in the WAGS Cup flight. Bracket 3 was clearly the weakest bracket. PWSI and NYSC were weakest teams in Cup flight, with TFA and Penn Fusion next. Bracket 2 was the most even flight, with FCV best all-around - good depth and balance - in the bracket. From what I saw, Wildcats looked like a very solid team. Crew Juniors not as dominant as I expected; needed goal with two minutes left to edge by BRYC.
PDA had help to get to finalThe divisions were not even. PDA much tougher games to get to final.FSA ECNL have to be upset they didnt get to finals in this one.
Looks like FSA NPL team did better than the ECNL team. Sounds like Match Fit and PDA.
EDP CUP top brackets PDA STORMSTAFSA ECNLATLETICOCALVERTFSA NPLNJCSATSFYou decide which bracket was tougherCalvert had easier road but they deserved the title, congrats to themThe other bracket had some very close gamesThing that stands out is STA allowing 1 goal all weekend, just need to score more
11:59 agreed- WAGS Cup extremely balanced, many outstanding teams and great games. I thought Top Hat and FC Virginia best 2 teams, crew juniors a small step behind them along with many others.
Nitwit here, I agree with Calvert comments easy flight or not they still had to play the games and get the result to make it to the finals and at the finals they took care of business putting any doubts anyone might have to bed. The beat a strong team in PDA Storm. I don't care who played and who didn't - They are all on that team and share the rewards equally. They all contribute to that team's success regardless if they dress or not.Didn't look to much into it, but I have to agree giving up 1 goal all weekend and shocking WC ECNL earlier in the year should tell us all that this team is also very solid let's see if they can carry it over to NPL? FSA NPL did well and ConnFC should do well as well in NE Girls NPL action putting pressure on the current top 4 in the league, it's going to get interesting in the Spring.NYSC had some good results in the top flight of a top tournament to give their girls some confidence after the Stars meltdown. NYCSL NPL should be great down the stretch run with NYSC, STA, ISA and NJ Crush fighting all season long - every game is important as they don't have a post season - no second chances in this NPL - how it should be.NJ Wildcats no wins but who cares - they played well and were in every game of the top flight of a top tournament - nothing more you can ask for (yes results) the played well. I was a little surprised of PennFusion play. expected a little more from them I guess (unfair).10:53 - wow, did they not move the ball around?11:59 Thanks for the Post!!!
WAGs much deeper. No offense but NJSCA and TSF didn't belong in that bracket. Solid teams but bearly top 10 in NJ.After this weekend new top 10 in NJ:WildcatsPDA ECNL StormMF ECNL JaguarsPDA South NPL AJAX STAPDA North NPL DragonsMF NPL NJXCrushTSFNJCSA
11:59 again - one other thought, for what it's worth - from talking to parents, it seems that the DC area teams have played less 11v11 than those for other areas and they're still learning how to play 11v11. The results bear that out in all of the flights, as no team from the DC area made any finals (except maybe MUFC White?). FC Virginia made an effort to play a lot of 11v11 last year and you can see the difference.
Discovery Cup had some good teams, from Florida and the like. So in the end why choose Discovery, EDP and/or WAGS. All had great competition, few flights to choose from, maybe proximity more than anything these days? If going for points you can perhaps calculate best options, but I am sure PDA did not go to EDP Cup to lose. I am sure FSA, Wildcats did not go to their tourneys to Lose/Tie. So all the blogging, what is the best and why really, am I correct it is proximity at this point?
1:14 I don't have an issue with your post if you are saying that the 1. Nj Wildcats2. PDA Pre-ECNL3. MF ECNL4. PDA South5. STA6. PDA North7. MF NPLare your top 7 - I don't think many people would have an issue with this - yes some might shift the order around but these 7 are solid and should be in the top 10.8. NJ Crush9. TSF10. NJCSA GalaxyDid you also want to add the MF Black Jaguars team to your list? I think Crush is still very much a player 9 & 10 you can probably name another 10 teams that can make a claim to those spots. What is interesting about your list is that all the teams are either ECNL or NPL clubs but one.
Cedars all over the place, NJCSA all over the place, PDA all over the place, Fredericks Cup etc. Calvert, DC, VA teams mostly in Discovery/WAGS. I saw mostly at EDP Cup, CT, NY, MA, NJ, MD. Not much else of course PA sorry. Next year we should all go to the Wall fall Classic in Wall, NJ. lol. have a ball in Wall. I think big mistake to have so many tournaments in one weekend? Am I wrong? Cant they spread it out better.?
1:35 - I would agree with your comment - teams go to these tournaments for different reasons but they all go to WIN
But did WC and TSF really prove that this weekend at U13? @139

Did I miss something? Have Wildcats beaten the other top 7 teams more than they have lost to them? Win, not tied. Again, sorry if I missed it.

The original list at 1:14 was based on Fall play to date. I have seen most of these teams play
ATTENTION Wildcats: If you apply for the Got Soccer credit card they will convert all your gas, dining and hotel reward points into GS points. Not winning any tournaments games at U13 is not good for business.
Team MemoConfidentialTo: Wildcat ParentsFrom: CoachDear all,Thank you all for your participation and efforts toward rehabilitating our image on various blogs. Operation Smokescreen (our new tactic of over-complimenting our opponents so we can claim to be in the toughest brackets of tournaments) is starting to gain traction. Keep up the good work!
1:55pm in answer to your question -yes wildcats are 500 or better record vs all teams on your top 10 list at U12/U13 so far.Only top team they have yet to play is matchfit pre-ecnl.Maybe at bethesda as they are both in top flight next month there.
wildcats results over last year of playvs top 10. w l tstorm 1 1 omf npl 0 0 2Dragons 1 0 0Ajax 2 1 2STA 2 0 0TSF 2 0 0Rage 1 1 2so answer is yes same or more wins than losses vs all top 10 teams
The list included MF Pre-ECNL, the original MF Black. The current MF Black does not crack the top 10. I would love to hear what other teams should get consideration.
I know blaming injuries for loses, or not advancing, is lame to this audience, but at this level, for us anyway, we cannot replace some top players, and still compete with teams like TopHat. The gave it their best, and came up short, but they have improved, and I for one am happy with my daughters performance this past weekend, she played every minute, of every game, and gave everything she had, its enough for me.P.S. The various bruises and welts she wears with pride, as she does her club kit every time.
LOL- Wildcats trying to use U12 results still.U13 Lost to PDA South 3-1According to Wildcat logic: If we play top tournaments, we are top team. Disregard the fact they have not won ANY tournament games at U13.Therefore: If you jump off your roof, does that mean you were flying before you hit the ground?
The fact is that the top 7 teams match up better against certain teams (size, physicality, speed) and under certain conditions (turf, grass, wind). That is why top ten lists don't always look to make complete sense. Better to say these are the top teams in no particular order.
3:21 Please share what teams your daughters team played this weekend and your results and then we will talk.Who did you play? What tournament ? What flight? What are the scores?Enlighten us on what your team has that makes them successful and not others?
Wildcats- You simply are not a top 4 team. But if you say it enough It might make it true.Keep going to ball hard and banging bodies.Physical Physical Physical.Your coach teaches technical skills in practice but your team is so bad at execution that they have no choice but to play BULLY ball.Any body who is athletic with real technical would be crazy to stay on This team.Top team in NJ... My a$$
3:33- My daughters team did not play this weekend and we still won as many games as you!
3:56 Wildcats lost to PDA South 3-1 at U13. .
"Keep going to ball hard and banging bodies.Physical Physical Physical."Having not ever seen Wildcats play, this explains a lot for me.Not just the run of low-scoring ties (indicative of a team that packs it in and hopes for a long ball to a fast player to score), but also the emphasis on results and the need to be included in all "top team" conversations. And to probably starting most of the "top team" conversations as well.Packing it in does not lend itself to long term success. Which means it is a team built to win now. Which means that it is a team looking for accolades now. They have already slipped from being a team that wins to being a team that ties. And shortly they will become a team loses a lot of one-goal games.
4:11 your explanation not even close.Wildcats have never played anything but 3 high forwards and pressed up the field. They also regularly send their outside backs forward on overlaps and their right back often crosses from opponents end line. They earn many corner kicks. So since you have "never seen Wildcats play" it explains how you can be so far off in your evaluation.try watching a team play before you spout off next time.Nice try though.
4:11- Exactly right. This year State Cup is the right fit for them.
I apologize, 4:22. I had no idea that sometimes the outside backs come forward. Clearly, Wildcats do not pack it in.
You are forgiven. As you know, I would hope, "packing it in" means you do not send numbers forward as that leaves your team at risk of a counterattack and getting caught numbers down. Also teams that "pack it in" do not play 3 forwards and press high.Teams that"pack it in" play low pressure by definition and keep numbers behind the ball. But hey, lacking an understanding of the game and it's terms does not preclude you from spouting off on this blog.
Short sighted team looking to pack up some points and claim they play an ECNL level of play. This will all be over soon when U14 ECNL and NE NPL teams are formed.... Gets tiring listening to it. Good team now. That is it. Move on.
Dont worryECNL is safe from Wildcats(As you see, PDA entered the OTHER event this past weekend)Well........til spring SC, at least
5:03- this is also why they have won or tied a few good single games but never really won anything of substance. Like a state cup or a good tourney......
And if they do not win this SC with this field, it will really be telling.
Couple of tough game remain........You did see what STA did this weekend, right?Good one to look ahead to on the 25th
One observation from the weekend: The rising level of keeper play. It wasn't that long ago that breakaways were are guaranteed goal for a striker and rebounds were an automatic tap in. Watching this weekend GK's were consistently aggressive, blowing up strikers on breakaways and standing on their head making amazing saves. Nice work..
I created the list and my daughter does not play for the Wildcats (nor am I the coach). I have seen them play and they are at least 1 ,2 or 3. The key going forward is not to be better than the ECNL teams (possible but not probable over time) it is to be the best of the rest. Right now I think they are with AJAX, NJX, STA and maybe Dragons slightly behind. It all depends on what talent stays and what talent goes.
Wildcats- Good luck to you. i am sure your team will go the way of your older teams in the club.Let me guess. They are all terrible but not you guys. you will be different.Look up wildcats, All your teams play the same way.
I don't agree with the wildcat criticism. I took a minute to look at the standings of Wags Cup Flight and out of 36 games in top flight there were 10 wins 16 divides and 10 loses. So why all the criticism when that is what the majority did. Even if you subtract the wildcat games it is still 10w-13 d-10 loses. So I don't get the direct attacks?
To beat the ECNL teams all you have to do is keep hammering them wildcats. That is until they begin to punch back. Its it right around the corner.Skill and aggression means bye bye Wildcats. Please don't cry when your little suzie starts to get hit back. Its just a matter of time.
Its the physicality of the team without any substance.have you seen their technical skills. Please give us all a break. This team was made fot u9 -u14 at the most.
Sounds like the NJSCA guy is back.
3:59That's hysterical!! Your daughters team didn't even play this weekend!!! That speaks volumes!
One post says they are not physical (obviously you haven't seen them play). The next one says they are not technical (obviously you haven't seen them play). They have a couple of girls that are among the best in the state. You better hope they stay with the wildcats or they will be taking your daughters spots on ECNL teams. No doubt.
