U14G / U14 Girls Youth Soccer

U14G  / U14 Girls youth soccer seems to offer the most teams and the widest diversity of talent.

Where these players will end up is anyone guess.

Welcome to the ride.

So MF is going to have 2 NPL teams like PDA?

Anonymous said...

so STA has accumulated 10,000 got soccer points for placing 3rd in 2 different leagues. Interesting.

Anonymous said...

and another 4000+ for winning their own event

And another 5,443 from 10 events

Yep got soccer at its finest.

Anonymous said...

Why is GS to blame? They did nothing but provide a tool - how it's used is up to the team - did they tell STA to play in 11 events plus 2 leagues?

No - STA felt that was the best approach to bring their team up to speed. So they got points for it.

9:03- I believe so. Still working on the logo, but names are set to distinguish.

Match Fleece NPL Dumb & Match Fleece NPL Dumber

Anonymous said...

Match fleece npl with no leader and no players. But don't worry you will have other sacrificial lambs soon to write more checks for you. But before anyone accepts they should ask themselves where did all the girls go that were on this team. If you ask MF they will tell you they moved up to ecnl. Or they are at UNC training for the summer with a full scholarship. Then talk to the parents that choose to remain and get the truth. No coach awful training and major politics. And more changes coming soon. Stay tuned

Anonymous said...

Sounds like someone got the short end of the stick

Anonymous said...

If not ECNL a where are the girls going?

Anonymous said...

The is I have with GS. which in my estimate is an antiquated and it encourages teams to participate in as many tournaments as possible to gather up those points. which creates and easy circumvension of the system to gather points by participating in numerous tournaments so that their club can brand their teams as number 1 in the state. This can create over play and significantly short cut development of our kids.

Clubs use this little trick to attract customers as parent mistakenly believe that the GS ranking of a team determines just how good that team is. In realty the correlation may be far from the truth.

A simple adjustment to the system- (e.i clubs may only participate in a maximum of six tournaments a year after that no GS point would be given would go along way in preventing clubs from trying to collect GS points. Their ranking would be a lot purer by making sure clubs choose wisely where they decide to participate in tournaments in order to maximize their value. This would eliminate tournament chasers and would compare like number of tournaments to like number of tournaments.

Anonymous said...

Sold it all for 3 Magic Beans.

Anonymous said...

meant teams not clubs

Anonymous said...

12:32 - I disagree - GS is a tool for tournaments to use. They came up with a point system to award teams for placing in them. To give everyone but USSF what they want a rankings system.

It doesn't encourage anyone to do anything they wouldn't already be doing.

The blame stops with the coach if they are over playing.

yeah that's a good defense GS made me do it.

Sorry just disagree - I see GS for what it is - a tool that allows to accumulate points when they win or tie so you can compare - but perfect it is not.

Anonymous said...

why not limit the number of tournaments a team can earn pts of in order to be able to compare apples to apples when evaluating points?

clubs have no incentive to stop this practice because it attracts dollars to the club.

certainly you would agree that if you don't want to limit the number of tournaments than GS could come up with a formula that divides the number of points by number of tournaments so that these teams can't just sit there and accumulate. the point is- there is a better way to determine an apple to apple comparison.

Anonymous said...

12:50 what's in it for GS? Why would they take money out of their pocket?

I would adjust their rankings to include the top 4 Events plus league play for Regional leagues and national Leagues only). It could be rolling so a team can play in 12 tournaments and then you would take their top 4 only. No one gets hurt if you play more than 4 and if play less well that's your choice. The incentive for using their software would be the bonus points.

For all the parents that believe in the Got Soccer rankings.

Get a life. It don't mean a thing, except for your gigantic EGO's.

Nobody pays attention to them except for you fools, and your neighbors that you run to and tell that little Cassie's team is ranked 2nd in NJ. LOL

Anonymous said...

Unless you strip out league play your NJ list is meaningless. There are teams that have only one league posted and some none. Waste of time.

Anonymous said...

Not to pick on STA, but an earlier poster mentioned that 10000 of their points is from league play. Strip that out from your list and they only have 5,075 points.

1 PDA Dragons
0 NJ Wildcats Averbuch

If this is true - PDA Dragons have now beat NJ Wildcats, STA & PDA Ajax. They also tied MF NPL twice in NJ games. For a team that got no love they won me over even though if you played these games again the results could be flipped.

So in NJ Cup action PDA Ajax and PDA Dragons have advanced to Final 4 and also have a league game vs each other today and while in PA the UKRAINIAN NATIONALS BLASTERS BLACK are back in the NCS PA final going for back to back titles. If they had some better results in Region1 vs GB & SS and can get by PL who has beat them 3-1 in RCL, 5-1 at Discovery and 3-1 in League play. I'm ready to jump on board but they need to win the PA cup over PL or at least go to PK.

Should be lots of good games this weekend from NPL to RCL to State Cup games. Good Luck girls play a hard and have fun - because this yahoo who apparently has no life loves following this age group thanks to my kid.

Anonymous said...

The Wildcats have fallen at remarkable speed. I saw those predictions blogged last season but didn't think it would unravel that fast. I guess you will see them at the MF and PDA tryouts soon.

Anonymous said...

Dragons are looking good. Feel bad for people who turned down spots or left that team because it wasn't named Storm...

Anonymous said...

Is this the dragons first state cup semis?

Anonymous said...

Dragons were in the semis last year.

Anonymous said...

1776 and PL at 3:00 for state cup semi and right to play Urainians in final. Both teams now with multiple players out and will be using orange cones and lawn chairs and a beach umbrella in goal to cover some positions (yes it does sound that stupid). Lets agree not to use injuries as an excuse for any team that may not play well. Every team carries the number of players they feel necessary to cover injuries. It is that team's coach job to develop ALL of them in case of such injury.

Anonymous said...

Yes Last year Dragons got bounced by
NJX Celtic aka MF NPL in both state cups (US Club & USYSA). This year they have played to a 0-0 draw twice, once in NPL league play and more recently ad PDA tournament.

Looks like MF NPL is setting themselves up to make a run for Indiana by adding Pre-ECNL players to their NPL roster.

Anonymous said...

Good for them. Still have to win games.

Anonymous said...

How do you know who was added to their roster?

Anonymous said...

Wildcats are following the same road like every other team before them. The only surprise is that parents always thinks that their team-that plays a get the ball forward style -will be different in their decline than the numerous teams before them.

Time to put the wildcats to bed.

Anonymous said...

2:18 all I can tell you is that it's not hidden. I won't post the link because there are some mean people on this board.

Anonymous said...

3:11 I disagree with your post. They will continue playing NCS, NJ Cup and EDP NPL & RCL if this year is any indication on the future - That is more than enough for the kids to get great games and team exposure.

Anonymous said...

3:31- Wildcats are not getting exposure, they are getting exposed.

Can you tell me any quality WINS for the Wildcats at U13?

Anonymous said...

3:55 They are NJ NCS Champs which earned them a trip to WV with a chance to compete against other NCS champs with a chance to advance to the USYSA Championships. They obviously played well enough to advance to WV.

They are in EDP NPL and can easily advance to Indiana to play in the NPL finals this year.

The RCL & NJ Cup experience didn't go as planned - they will need to work that one out. But if they can a spot in national league and at the US Club nationals will be available.

If your team is not ECNL does your kid have these many opportunities?

Anonymous said...

PL over1776. 2-0

Anonymous said...

2:08
What's the problem if they are adding players? Its been said here that their bench is small due to players injuries and players that have left.

Anonymous said...

Congrats to PL. The better team won .

Anonymous said...

Too bad 1/4 of the team is leaving. Don't understand that.

Anonymous said...

Where are they going?

Anonymous said...

MF just added 6 to their npl team from the ecnl roster. Just go to the npl website. Better check those cards carefully for the state cup. Being hosted in Holmdel as well.

Anonymous said...

PF

Anonymous said...

What is your problem with MF Npl better yet what do you have with MF? For you to know the roster by memory and how many get added.

Anonymous said...

Don't know them by heart. But when they are listed on npl and ecnl, its not rocket science

Anonymous said...

Wow, is all I can say. You lose a hard fought state cup game, then you go on Instagram and post how the other team cheated. Then to top it off you have to comment back to 13 year old girls who comment on you post. On this blog that would be fine, but you put it out there so the girls could see it. WHAT ACLASS ACT YOU ARE!!! By the way great comments from your sideline today." Way to go Penn Fusion" and it's good we know we have a team next year. PL has 3 girls moving on to try something new. Nobody on our team has a problem with that, but your team does. Way to be good sportsman after a loss, just showing your true colors I guess.

Isn't PL better than PF?

Anonymous said...

It's more than 3 leaving.

Anonymous said...

There was a 4 th offered a spot. They wanted to give her a huge signing bonus, and $1000.00 for each goal scored. However she turned it down.

Anonymous said...

Then someone's lying to the PF coach.

Anonymous said...

7:55. If you are a parent or coach of 1776, then you should be extremely proud of your girls and the way they played today. They are obviously well coached and never (and I mean never) stop playing hard, despite having a short bench. Unfortunately there is nothing to be proud of when it comes to a mom that yells insults to the opposing teams girls at the end of the game, goes back to her trailer and has a few beers while watching Honey Boo Boo, then decides to berate 13 year old girls from an opposing team, on instagram at that, about a choice her and her family made. We all know that this not the first, second or third time this parent has reacted this way. Its a shame because her daughters are great players and 1776 really is a solid team.

Anonymous said...

which team is better 1776 or ukranians in pa?

Anonymous said...

1776 beat them 5-0 last time they played.

Anonymous said...

New York Cup Quarter finals:

NYSC 3
Atletico FC 2

Ukranians has a couple players that are better than the ones on 1776, but 1776 has the better team and a really good defense.

Anonymous said...

1776 has a very weak offense

Anonymous said...

Ahh yes the crazy 1776 mom. Know her well, unfortunately.

Anonymous said...

psssst, hey 8:25. I've got these brand new watches I'll sell ya and no they're not stolen. Stop believing bloggers and coaches and start believing shit when it happens. PF already has a very good team and the coach isn't just going to take a PL player because they are from there. I think a the player trying out has to be an upgrade over an existing PF player, How many of those can Penn Legacy really have that want to make the commitment and be good enough?

Anonymous said...

And you should stop listening to what other parents are saying. Some current PF players won't be back and there will be several new additions. Current team members can say whatever they want now...but you'll see

Anonymous said...

6:22 Never said it was a bad thing. Just said they were adding ECNL players for their playoff push.

Did they do the same thing last year in the NorthEast NPL, since they were playing up did they use their ECNL players for the playoffs to get to the NPL finals? That would explain how a team 16 points behind the 1st place team gets hot and wins 2 games.

Nothing wrong with it -it's not breaking any rules, just curious.

Anonymous said...

After reading this blog over the past week, I am happy that my daughter is on a winning team that doesn't have the drama surrounding all the other teams mentioned here. Makes me think I made the right choice for my daughter.

Anonymous said...

Seems like you love the drama because you are on here at midnight reading about it.

Anonymous said...

4:03 thanks for the bio. Wildcats won a tournament without the top 5 teams from the State (PDA AND MF). This spring you were knocked out in the qtr finals

Please tell me the Wildcats quality wins at U13.

Anonymous said...

1:20 you are missing the point. The object is to get to West Virginia & Indiana to show case players, WV is done and Indiana is in the cards. They were all quality wins to get the prize?

Now you tell me why are they to blame for winning the state NCS? PDA & MF were not eligible to play because they didn't play in a USYSA league, they needed to do what STA and NJ Crush did for their players, the elected not so for that NJ Wildcats are to blame for winning an event?

PS. Don't say "you were" unless you know who posted. Wrong guy pal.

Anonymous said...

Looks like STA is in SC semis. Last game is MF vs Galaxy to join STA, Dragons and AJAX.

Anonymous said...

How did TSF become such a good team so fast? I mean I try to follow this blog, and they are never mentioned, until about a month ago, then bam! I don’t live in NJ, but its nice to see a new competitor show-up to play. Good for them!

Anonymous said...

As far 1:20AM's comments.
Best wins this year are 1-0 over maryland united red pre-ecnl
2-0 over STA
3-1 over STA
What better 3 wins does your team have this year so far?
Any why are you up posting at 1:20AM obsessing about Wildcats?
To answer 8:54AM not only are no wildcats leaving for PDA/MF but striker from PDA Storm just came over to them. She was key scorer for Storm for last 2 years until losing out to big girl from Rage for her spot. A very strong player and goal scorer who will make a huge impact for them.

Anonymous said...

That is a true Wildcat hater. Up at 1:30 in the morning thinking about the Wildcats. Must have become bored with stalking the U14 blog. All alone with his computer in the dark and posting post about the Wildcats, Hmmmmm. (creepy)

Yes, heard from parents and coaches he is on the U14 and u15 girls blogs as well lately with the same nasty crap.
Wonder who it could be that uses the blog this way and is interested in these 3 age groups?

Great NY Cup quarter-final game between Atletico FC and NYSC. Back and forth battle, that was tense and truly entertaining. In the end, the more-skilled, and technical team prevailed 3-2.

Anonymous said...

South Shore beat GB 3-0. I believe GB still qualifies for playoffs and PL is out.

Anonymous said...

Wow, that’s great about SS/GB, now how about that NY Cup game, did I mention how great it was??

Anonymous said...

11:22 MF did not add players last year, actually played with only 13 players. Reason why this team made finals is that they were healthy at end of year

Anonymous said...

What's the matter 3:27, couldn't make the Storm and a little bitter?

Anonymous said...

4:14 no not true.

Anonymous said...

Just an idiot's opinion. But overall the Champions league was a good ideal that went fairly well in its first trial. A little sad about not making the playoffs, but it was a great experience for the players. Not only having to adjust to the different styles of play from each team, but to the refs working the game in that area. Good parents from each group too, although there are always those few in every crowd that make stupid statements(ours too). Would like to see it bumped up to 8 games instead of 5 if possible, although most managers would agree it has been a scheduling nightmare at 5. And of course they should do away with the allowance of guest players (three allowed). Play your best players that you have and be true to the "development" part of what your selling. Just saying

7:11- Hey Wikipedia, what is the definition of a team that loses to a "B" team?

Anonymous said...

Not a Wildcat fan but Dragons are one of the teams just behind PDA and MF ECNL teams...... BUT Wildcats alway boast that they are better so the loss does mean a bit more....

Anonymous said...

7:24, I am not disrespecting the Dragons as they can be considered a top team in NJ. But they can never be the top team. That would mean they are better than the Storm. If they were to be better they would lose their players to the Storm. That is just the way it is. But that doesn't mean they can't be a very good team. And I guess theoretically they could be as good as the 2nd best team in NJ. You can say that about AJAX as well.

Anonymous said...

Falling apart 7:26. You don't know what you are talking about. You don't know of any injuries and you apparently do not know if MF players were asked last year to go to the NPL championships. Know your facts before you blog.

Anonymous said...

Yes, current players were asked to go to S.C last year. Unfortunately because of the unexpectant outstanding playoff run that MF pre ECNL had, players were unprepared to go to SC at a moments notice.

Anonymous said...

Just because I might be missing something here. How does an NPL team claim to be the top NJ team when they are the secondary team from an ECNL club? Isn't that what most NPL teams are, or that just not true? Little info here?

Anonymous said...

Dragons are a Non encl.Club team.

I think the b team is inappropriate.

Club teams can be extremely capable and compete with ECNL teams around the country.

If you are a club like PDA or Dallas Texans or SanDiego Surf, Stars of Mass -you can pretty much bet that some of these players are interchangeable with the their ECNL team.

The Dragons if coached correctly can go on to win a National Championship

@9:30pm that would generally be the case (that ECNL would be the academy a team and NPL the b. However, MF NPL is actually holmdel njx. They just took on the MF name. It's a matter of time until they "integrate". Most will tell you NPL is actually the stronger of the two teams. However, they will eventually strip NPL of those top players to make ECNL stronger.

Waiting to hear how bad PDA Shore ran over BOCA today. Still no result posted?

Take your time before answering.

Anonymous said...

Thanks "Soccer Nut" and 9:57. So basically the NPL league is made up of both ECNL "secondary teams" and club teams? For instance, could a club team like the Wildcats play in the same league Fusions or some other ECNL secondary team? Sorry if I seem a little dense here. But would like to know so I can explain to others who ask.

@10:40 you win strangest post ever

Anonymous said...

NPL have separate divisions through out the country.

Some divisions are made up of only ecnl "club" teams

Some divisions are made up of non -ecnl organizations

This 2 "whole club" division must have teams at every age group starting at u12.

and then there is the EDP division which also falls under the NPL league which allows individual selective teams ( not necessarily whole clubs) to play in the NPL.

The goal is the same for all these divisions under the NPL division. To slug it out for an NPL national title( which can be pretty impressive considering the type of teams that may be under the NPL banner across the country.

If I have this wrong -please some one add to this as I do not want to give out wrong info

BOCA beats down PDA Shore. Keeper for BOCA was a machine. She stopped 30 shots diving breakaways. PDA should have won. Lol. However BOCA moves on with this keeper. I guess not a guest player but did not recognize from earlier. BOCA will play Manalspan next week. Then title on Sunday. It went into OT and 2-1 final.
PDA very strong. But that keeper and defense just figured it out. Refs were not involved fair game from two obviously well trained veteran ocean county players.

10:43 EDP has NPL division (12 Clubs not specific teams)

AND

EDP also has D1, D2 and so on. ONLY NPL approved clubs can advance to NPL finals

Anonymous said...

PDA Dragons, PDA Ajax, PDA Shore, MF NPL North, MF NPL South - are all NON-ECNL teams.

Correct all these teams are secondary teams for their clubs. What does this have to do with NON-ECNL events? Dragons the "B" team just beat STA and NJ Wildcats you know the F1 team?

To my knowledge NorthEast Girls NPL is the only NPL out of 15 that have a u13 Division with ECNL club "B" teamsthat advance to NPL finals. All other leagues either have Pre-ECNL team like portland or a random "B" team like FCV along with other CLub A teams NYSC, STA, NJ Crush, NJ Wildcats, TSF, NEFC, Oakwood and others

7:31 I don't think most think they will drop game to NJCSA.

I'm no Jimmy the Greek, but I think MF NPL holds off NJCSA Galaxy who were by passed by the club when they slapped the NPL tag on NJCSA Elite.

Anonymous said...

I believe MF gets by galaxy tonight 1-0. Then they finally lose to dragons in semis because someone has to score and the dragons have had many more scoring opportunities in their matches. MF has difficulty scoring in general. Take away the blowouts against teams that should not even be in npl. Even with adding 6 ecnl players, and by the way only 1 injury and and many more defecters coming shortly.

Anonymous said...

I don't understand adding 6 ECNL players. Are they players on ECNL team that werennot playing at Pre-ECNL or are they shuttling better players to make sure they win games? If it's the former so what?

Anonymous said...

NJSCA is good enough defensively to hold regulation to a 0-0 score. Anything can happen in PKs.

Anonymous said...

Bunch of quitters and kids that don't want to play but mommy and daddy drag them them to soccer. That made the numbers dwindle.

Anonymous said...

7:56 They want to go to Indiana and play at the NPL Finals. Since the Pre-ECNL flight doesn't send a team - It looks like they are using I believe the term is called "ringers". There is nothing wrong with it, it's within the rules you are correct. But for u13 soccer that's a major turnoff for me.

But I do agree with you nothing wrong with it and so what. Just gave my opinion since that's what this board is for.

Anonymous said...

Love people who know nothing that comment on here. Comical! Please tell me how you know of 6 ECNL players that are also playing on NPL team for MF...

Anonymous said...

8:28 very simple - I'll try to type so you can follow along.

I try to help out on this board by posting scores and comparing teams. So when you go to the NPL site MF did a great service for their NPL players by listing them and allowing them to update their player profiles.

The first thing you notice about MF NPL is that they had something like 13 players listed previously and now they have 20. Guess what if they are on both rosters both teams are listed.

You are correct I know nothing about MF and honestly with the way this looks I don't want to know nothing about them. I know they don't care and I don't care.

I come on here a rip EDP for not showing love to their websites after all the money they collect from team league fees. It show they don't care. I also come on here and raved about MF, CFC Delco, FSA, FC Stars and PennFusion about how much they care about their NPL players then I see this. It looks like they are using "ringers" for u13 soccer. CFC from CT gave up the right to go to Indiana to make sure they get it right. If this team kept a small roster because you are only as strong as your weakest player - then you get what you deserve if you can't field a team.

I love talking about results when teams play with what they have - and seeing a team go from board punching bag to actually in the conversation.

But you ARE CORRECT I know nothing about MF but I know everything about what the internet has and we all know if it's on the net it must be true :)

PS. I didn't say anything wrong about MF just posted what it looks like. Someone it the know can set it straight or try to cover it up.

I have actually defended them many times on the board (both teams)

Anonymous said...

I actually hope MF sends 6 players or whatever they need to play. Excited to see so many talented players on one team. Hell, PDA has been doing this for many years. A bunch of babies here complaining because they are not in a true Academy setting where they can interchange players.

Anonymous said...

8:47 gets it....
The rosters will ALWAYS be changing from here on out. What you don't know is the roster changes will for the most part be for next year. They will do some blended friendlies and games but they will not have 6 new kids this season playing. Called figuring out the best fit for your teams for when it really starts to count next year. Being a part of that is what top level soccer is all about. Not for everyone but that is reality at the top...

Anonymous said...

8:47 Shouldn't these clubs give a chance to their B team players - you know playing with the A team not the other way around.

Yeah a true Academy setting where it's about development and teaching with no games played right, like in Europe? Oh you mean win at all costs. I get it.

I guess it looks like I am complaining because I keep replying. My bad :(

This is why YOU DON'T HAVE PLAYOFFS. You don't give a club a chance to load a roster when every game counts the same.

Anonymous said...

At all top academies you blend up and down. It is about competition and finding the right fit. Nothing wrong with that.

Anonymous said...

I understand your concern, however, the best time to make these type of player moves are in friendlies, tournaments and playoffs. Sometimes it's done in the regular season. ie Ajax & Dragons.
Don't know if MF has made any moves like this during the regular season. I think with their shorter rosters, it would be hard, no? Just my opinion.

Anonymous said...

Sorry that some of you do not like it but these were plans that were discussed a year ago. This has been the plan all along for MF. But I get it, most of the area programs can not accomplish something like this. Their player pools are too small. I do hear some player pools are about to get a boost in the next few weeks.

Anonymous said...

The PDA and Match Fit teams listed under the ECNL teams in the clubs' directories are NOT "non-ECNL" if they use players that are rostered with the ECNL club

Match Fit actually used ECNL players in the Premier (lower) Division of State Cup, which to me is ridiculous.

Anonymous said...

First the MF Black team does not use ECNL players. There are players that get moved up to help the ECNL team out due to injuries.

MF Black team is turning out to be a very good team.

PDA did this for years and continue to do so, able to use players within club for games. This is difference with large clubs. Have players available all the time

Anonymous said...

It was MF BLUE

Anonymous said...

So let me ask a question, is it OK for MF to bring the NT invitee down from ecnl to npl. She plays u13 npl ecnl and u14. You have a lot of people paying top dollar for what? Its definitely not the training or the coach. Npl doesn't even know who their coach is. Someone different every game a practice. Sign of thing to come?????

Anonymous said...

How do you think it looks for MF to have a npl roster for everyone to see with only 11 or 12 players. If I were looking to change teams and everyone does their homework and you see a roster of 12 players and the season isn't over, would you run there? Its not like you have 4 or 5 sitting on the bench in crutches or braces

Anonymous said...

OMG guys

I have not knowledge of MF as well.

Take a step back, look at this from a different point of view.

MF NPL currently has 13 players? There are tryouts going on at all clubs over these next few weeks.

Players will either say with current club or move. If a player decide to move, more than likely this player will not travel in July to play for a team they will no longer be a part of

or

A player does not make a certain team, therefore upset over this. This players decides not to play for a team that makes it to finals.

I see Match Fit adding to players to a small roster to ensure they have players just in case their team makes it to finals

Anonymous said...

Why does everyone care what MF does, or how it looks? Anyone who has been around the sport at this level knows how that club and teams at this age level operate.
I don't know if it's within the rules or not, but you definitely see the same players playing games for multiple teams.
It is simply undeniable. You see stand out players from the ECNL or NPl teams playing with black, blue whatever..
That's the way the club operates.

Anonymous said...

Crush did this as well this past weekend. brought 6 players from A team to play vs MF Black. How did that end up?

Anonymous said...

Why does everyone care? If you are about to buy something wouldn't you want to know what you were buying into? The club/coach will tell you what you need to to know at that's all.

Anonymous said...

The Crush "A" team doesn't have 6 good players.

Anonymous said...

It is typical and useful for clubs to move players from team to team. Typically you reward good players on "B" team to play with A team occasionally

Then you let your weaker "A" team players get some opportunities to get more minutes with the B team.

That's not what MF is doing. They bring "down" their best A team players, to B and C teams in order to win. They also use guest players which is a real slap in the face.

MF has about 70 kids in the U13 age group. There is no need to bring in guest players with that kind of depth.

I think people should be aware of this before tryouts.

Anonymous said...

No disrespect to the parents of the kids that's playing all over the place. I would be happy as well if my kid was playing that much.

I just want to make sure I understand how this all works. If my kid makes NPL team and is an NPL quality player - are you telling me that ECNL (A team) player will come down and take minutes away from her and this is the norm? I thought it would be the other way around my B team player helps out the A team is she's good enough. I get the A team player being replaced and relegated to the B team - but I don't get A team players stealing minutes from B team players because it's the NORM and it comes with the territory. Is this what happens at MF and PDA?

Anonymous said...

MF has not brought players down to the NPL roster to win. MF NPL has been winning games without them. Apparently they added those players to the roster since girls are injured on the team (don't have to be in a brace or cast to be injured) and players that have left the team for reasons unknown.

Anonymous said...

yes 11:02.
ECNL players will be brought down when needed and play the whole game. They can deny it all they want, it happens

Anonymous said...

MF Black team never had a ECNL play for this team as well. Nice try

MF Black getting stronger and stronger. Watch out!

No bad for a team that was ridiculed last year. Similar to Dragons.

Anonymous said...

11:02 yes sir.
It;'s really not about development except for the top few players.
Otherwise it is win at all costs.
that's is the only reason for the a players to play down with b team and take time away from those b team players who are being told they will be developed better by staying on b team than moving to another strong team.
yet how will they develop if they don't play in b teams games or lose time to a players who are moved down to win an event?

Anonymous said...

they only want to keep them for the $$ b team players dues brings into clubs coffers!

Anonymous said...

Wait, the only thing Match Fit Black and the Dragons have in common is that they are often ridiculed on this blog. Soccer wise there is no comparison. We have played both.

I can tell you from experience that MF black had a bunch of the ECNL players in the Fall EDP league games.

These girls completely dominated play. They are great players and I understand why they would want to play. My issue is with the club using these players to inflate lower teams standings.

It was not a one time thing. We have friends on another EDP team who also played against them.

Anonymous said...

ECNL players play with MF Blue also

Anonymous said...

I forgot to include FACT:

Anonymous said...

Didn't realize there was a Match Fit Black and Blue (kind of funny names when you think about it)
Do all 4 teams train and play in same area? Do they pay the same as MF NPL and pre ECNL?

Think most would agree with following NJ U13 Top ten
1. PDA Storm
2. MF pre ECNL
3. PDA Dragons
4. MF NPL
5 PDA AJAX

That is very impressive work by PDA and MF

Anonymous said...

Just a question? Why wouldn't MF use players from Black or Blue to get a shot at NPL if it truly is about injuries? I know because if you use the ECNL players you have a better chance to advance, correct? So am i to understand that MF doesn't give players an opportunity to advance their game? they would rather use ECNL players to play down instead of taking players from black or Blue to play up?

Anonymous said...

I wouldn't put Dragons ahead of MF NPL jus yet. Also, Wildcats and STA have a say in top 5.

you can say what you want, Truth of the matter is. There are no ECNL players on the Black team. There are Black players that assist in ECNL games. It is the other way around.

Anonymous said...

I agree about Dragons and MF NPL - I guess they still need to meet 2 or 3 more times this year? This question will be answered.

But as of today Dragons have to be ahead of MF ECNL they played twice at u13 both to a 0-0 draw. They are in the same league Dragons top spot, they played in PDA tournament same bracket of the same flight. Dragons won Tournament.

Leave out PDA Storm and MF ECNL we all know in NJ that's your top 2.

The next 5 has to start with Dragons as they beat Ajax, STA & NJ Wildcats in head 2 head action. That can all change if they play again but as of now the results don't lie.

3. Dragons
4. MF NPL (beat Ajax twice)
5. Ajax (beat NJ Wildcats 3-1)
6. NJ Wildcats (beat STA twice)
7. STA

Sorry typo MF NPL not MF ECNL

Dragons and MF Npl may be equal with past 2 times ending in 0-0 ties, but MF Npl has beat Dragons all other times prior. Dragons have not beaten them ever.

Anonymous said...

How about for state cup? MF have any NPL players playing with black?

Anonymous said...

The problem with match fit that none of you are getting is that NPL and ECNL didn't really start integrating until recently. NPL was its own good, quality team before match it even came into the picture. That roster hasn't improved much, if any because of match fit. There are 4-6 NPL players (at least) that would start for ECNL over current ECNL players. ECNL would be stronger with those NPL girls on roster full time. So likely the ECNL players playing "down"are the weaker ones that are looking to be replaced once those NPL players officially move up.

As far as ECNL playing down to the black or blue, that is absolutely ridiculous. I truly hope that's not happening but MF wants to beef up all their teams points. Blue team is , just a money maker for MF. so of course they want to increase their standings and make them look good

Anonymous said...

Did STA play MF NPL? By not posting games to GS for the PDA tourney and State Cup it's hard to see the complete picture very easily.

12:52. Exactly right.

Was hoping for a Wildcat vs Dragon game recap? Not looking for trolls. 1-0 final. Sounds like a close game but was curious. Wildcats reputation is physical and aggressive. Dragons reputation is smaller and technical

If Wildcats won that game, I would put them at the 3 and slide everybody down 1 spot.

12:58. Not sure about state cup. I do know MF ECNL team entered into EDP Open Cup is a mixed bag of girls that usually play ECNL, NPL, and U14. Although called ECNL in the brackets, it's a completely different team, much stronger. I would assume they did the same for the MF Black team that is entered, using the other NPL girls not used for the ECNL team.

Anonymous said...

RAGE was never a top team. Unless by top team you mean the team who can kick it the most yards. I wish we could go back in time on this blog to U11 and talk about how that style of play wouldn't work for them or crush as the girls got older.

Anonymous said...

Actually I thought Wildcats moved the ball very well and were very organized against us.
Can't agree with 1:02 at all.

Anonymous said...

NJ Wildcats have locked up EDP South with it's LVU beat down 5-0 and combined with it's 2 wins vs Rush teams MD & NJ by a combined 8-0. As predicted they would walk through the South and they did. TSF and NJCSA Elite will battle for the top spot in the North - with TSF looking to be much improved only dropping the NJ Cup to STA 3-2 can they hold their own and win a trip to Indiana vs NJCSA and NJ Wildcats?

Anonymous said...

Do South and North play each other before going to Indiana for the NPL Finals?

Anonymous said...

12:20

Match Fit ZBlack and Match Fit Blue players cannot play "up" in State Cup for Match Fit NPL.

This is because MF Black and MF Blue are State Cup participants

At issue here is what is being done with the ECNL players. The ECNL team was NOT a State Cup participant, thus those players, I suppose, by rule can pop up on rosters of the other three MF teams that ARE in State Cup

ECNL player helping a team in Premier SC division advance is what is being called out as foul play, legal by rule or not

Anonymous said...

Aren't former RAGE players staring on PDA Storm?

Anonymous said...

And NJ Rush

Team would have been strong had it stayed together

Anonymous said...

This is what gets me about certain teams blowing up with this NPL national tournament. They come on here blogging they are BETTER than ECNL teams yet are pumping their chest for going to basically a "B" level national tournament. They knock the academy B teams yet they will be playing these B teams themselves in this tourney. Does not make much sense? Great stuff for their girls but the parents need to check themselves a bit..... Embrace your level. There is an entire level above them competing for another title.
