U12G / U12 Girls Youth Soccer

U12G  / U12 Girls youth soccer seems to offer the most teams and the widest diversity of talent.

Where these players will end up is anyone guess.

Welcome to the ride.

"If those scores and observations are accurate, then NJX came with their full team and not split up and got shut out in the first two games and then beat Stronghold 3-0 after they had previously lost 5-0 and 2-0. Isn't the indoor game about finishing? Guess this is more great shutout defense by NJX."

NJX's whole squad was there but really, they aren't built for the fast quick pass style of soccer indoors. They don't have their "long throw in advantage", and size means less compared to speed and quick ticky-tack passing style that STA employed.

PDA Ajax was split in two teams so did not have one complete squad. Both squads were competitive.

STA has a new player who nobody saw before supposedly has been playing up two age levels at a lower level club. She was dynamic, the fastest player at the tournament - to my eyes - and scored or assisted on many of their goals.

NJX best results came before long thrower joined team. Just sayin'.

"PA guy, how was the level of play at the PA indoor state cup?

Semi- Final teams
LDC ATTACK
HMMS-Eagle FC Spirit
FUSION FC STRIKERS (Champions)
LMSC Herricanes"

My daughter's team did not play in the tournament, so I can't comment on the quality of play.

I will say that the Reading/Harrisburg teams always do well at Indoor Cup (every semifinalist above except LMSC is a central PA team). Not sure why this is the case.

So NJX lost big in a setting where technical skill trumps size and speed? Hmm. Can't say I saw that coming.

Development, development, development. If you're not on a team right now that truly emphasizes and teaches technical and tactical development, move to one. I don't care if your team wins every game right now. The game will get harder and harder for you in the years to come. And you won't be able to make up for lost time.

Anonymous said...

All teams develop to some extent

Take the "lesser club" that the new STA girl was playing up with. If she is an excellent player they were obviously doing something right.

Might even be a very fine line in deciding which clubs develop "better". Might be more of a question of a comfort level in the teaching APPROACH, where similar skills are taught but one trainer is more rigid....allows less freedom and room for a player to breathe.

Anonymous said...

I would be curious to see how much of a typical NJX practice is spent on tactical approach/game situations.

Anonymous said...

9:38 I am going to disagree with you on this. Take this girl that was playing up at a lower club level. What did she actually gain by playing against lower level opposition? How many times was she open and din't get the ball? how many times did she turn over the ball because her team was lower level? was she forced to dribble the ball more because there was no support? Yes, she played against bigger older girls, but if the talent was lower level, what exactly are we talking about?

If this kid is a true talent she will pick up the premier game, but it will taker her a little time to adjust to premier level soccer, the training drills and also everyone can play the game and the speed of the game is a lot different than at the lower levels - I think we all can agree on that.

But it seems to work for this kid and her parents, so obvious other channels exist.

So is STA going to be one of the favorites to get to the NPL Champions League next year at u13 and represent the NYCSL NPL in your opinion.

well.....no.

If the groups stay the same it is clearly OAKWOOD that comes from their bracket

But its not just about that

Anonymous said...

Futsal guy maybe quiet today... just saying - BTW DYNAMO team is the disgruntled oracle from Manalapan. He basically put together an all star futsal team. 2 TR girls from Matchfit, 1 TR girl from NJX, the goalie from TR COPA and a couple others I didn't recognize. They lost in the regional semis this am. Guess you can't BUY a championship oracle... LOL

Anonymous said...

Its funny STA has a history of losing its better girls to PDA....In the end, it always weakens these strong teams.

If there is truly a talented player on this team, it is usually not long before this player moves on.

The cost of the clubs are about the same, so it makes it a no brainer for the parents of this talented player from this club to eventually move their daughter to bluer pastures., and now there's Matchfit as well.

It has to be frustrating for these organizations

Anonymous said...

NJX are the most skilled club in the universe

Anonymous said...

Did the Disgruntled Oracle take his daughter and leave Manalapan Dynamite already. If so he only lasted the fall season and is already moving on to their 4th team and still in U12 year.

Anonymous said...

Can someone confirm if he is talking about the "real" Disgruntledd Oracle(freehold native and club coach, wildcats team manager, manalapan dynamite parent, now Dynamo? If that is really him).
There are a lot of wannabe's out there but only ONE True Disgruntled Oracle.

Anonymous said...

You Guys are too funny. Yes the Manalapan coach does have a team at the Futsol Regionals and yes they are a good team. This group of girls that are playing in the tournament are a group of friends that wanted to play together. Nothing more nothing less. You guys need to stop trying to always start things.

Anonymous said...

If they want to play together, have them attend the new 'PDA Shore' tryouts this spring :).

Anonymous said...

The other option is that STA builds around this girl and adds strong players to the existing roster.

From what I hear they will have roster spots because going from 8V8 in NPL back to full sided at U13.

Doesn't hurt they will be practicing and playing at a new turf facility that has lights someone said previously on here

Anonymous said...

The Dynamo players have played together for 4 winters in a row. Every year they have a different name. Sorry you just happened to see them this winter.

Anonymous said...

Does anyone know when the draw is for the NJ State Cup?

Anonymous said...

Well travelled coach, is that you? Coaching the team where you have to pay & pay & pay then pay some more & then the well travelled coach makes your kid feel bad & left out so your kid convinces you to pay more, as result, & more & more. But it isn't about the money or ego well travelled coach, right?

Anonymous said...

3:44pm same girls every year yet a different name... sound like something fishy going on, why hide?

Anonymous said...

Curious? Njx girl playing for Dynamo? Which one? The one with the long throw? Last I checked you weren't allowed to guest a njx but they will allow guest players to play for njx. Last player they let train with wild ats left for the wildcats. I guess only certain players are allowed to guest. Cant wait for Mf

Anonymous said...

She'll make them so much better, its scary. May not be a done deal though..

Anonymous said...

nobody has a contract. a coach would drop you in a second if better kids come so why can't players have the same option.

Anonymous said...

She will make which team much better that its scary? What team are you talking about? & what might not be a done deal? She ain't coming back that's for sure!

Anonymous said...

STA field and lights is not for STA. Anyone can have access to them. STA is selling this as their fields, this is not the case.

This STA girl if any good will be at PDA or MF tryouts. Why stay at STA?

Anonymous said...

News flash!! Soccer is played outside on a full field. You all really getting that excited about indoor??? See you OUTSIDE in the Spring....... all these teams will be different. Should at least make it interesting this Spring.....

Anonymous said...

I'm thinking about looking into STA.

I may try to avoid the craziness with the PDA and MF and still have my daughter play some good soccer.

Yes my daughter does play for one of the teams mentioned above.

Anonymous said...

"I'm thinking about looking into STA.

Translation: My daughter currently plays for MF or PDA, not going to make my current team, will go and play for STA.

Nothing wrong with this, just call it as it is

Anonymous said...

Yes, coaches will always take the better players and play who he believes are the better players and players should move on if unhappy. Coming on here and complaining while you stay with the same program is not getting you anywhere.

Anonymous said...

Why STA?

Well, that parent just explained it nicely

Play top events, minus the craziness.

Being one of the better players could benefit as well, with confidence, development of leadership skills, etc

Anonymous said...

"The cost of the clubs are about the same, so it makes it a no brainer for the parents of this talented player from this club to eventually move their daughter to bluer pastures., and now there's Matchfit as well."

The cost for that new girl at STA - who has supposedly scored a couple hundred goals playing up a few age groups last few years - is nothing, I mean $0. She is that good...She actually looked strong and faster than any NJX or AJAX payer...

Anonymous said...

Hope she stays

Good for the division

I assume she is a seventh grader.

Anonymous said...

I saw STA play this weekend and they seemed too play well together as a group.

Good on the ball and nice passing.

Better than my daughters team thats for sure.

Anonymous said...

Great, we expect big things out of STA this Spring when they play some of the top teams.

I assume she will run all over Matchfit and PDA.

Anonymous said...

Saw them play GFA today ....sta npl ... 3v3 in Teaneck ... Ok team ... They won in finals

Anonymous said...

Nobody saying they are running over anyone. They are getting better and improving and need to add to their roster still.

It's not all about trying to beat MF and PDA

Maybe that previous post about dealing with the craziness at those places is right.

Would be nice to have another strong team in the age group.

Anonymous said...

I witnessed STa teams this past weekend and they played well, however their wasn't a stellar player as stated in prior posts. All girls seemed to work well together.

Anonymous said...

STA parents....please stop. You had a good indoor day against teams that didn't stack their best players all together.

Anonymous said...

I kinda like the change from the constant PDA and MF talk.

Go Crush!!!!

Anonymous said...

STA - no need to worry about MF and PDA. - Worry about the NEFC, Crush and Oakwood first.

Next year (2014/2015) all you have to do is win the league and you go to a National event.

Anonymous said...

Any idea of what the STA top bracket may look like? STA, PDA, NJX, MFA?

Anonymous said...

or any idea of the PDA tournament Application Deadline of February 15, 2014 just passed

Anonymous said...

Okay guys, the MF lady falcons are 00/01 which makes them u13. They are playing in NE Girls NPL and my guess is they go up to Pre-ECNL u14 this Fall.

Which leaves a vacuum at u12 for top team Lady Jaguars or NJX?

I think we can stop talking about the MF lady falcons on the u12 board since they have 00 girls on their team (just visit their team page they call themselves 00/01 girls).

#2

Anonymous said...

Has to be NJX

Jaguar players might start seeing the writing on the wall and look to other teams.

Anonymous said...

MF Lady Falcons are in the U12 Bracket in EDP, are they in the wrong place???

Anonymous said...

I don't know maybe they don't have any 00 girls but their team page has them as 00/01 which should make them u13. Don't know just find it interesting and wonder how it plays out this fall that's all. I'm sure they are in the right place.

#2

Anonymous said...

MF Falcons are MF Black

It's a U12 team

If they play up in events I'd guess they might use a U13 ('00) to guest

Anonymous said...

MF Lady Falcons do not have any girls in 00/01 age group. They played up the past two seasons. Come fall they will probably play in their age group U13.
NJX is not going to be pre-ECNL team

Anonymous said...

When EDP starts on 3/23/2014, we will have some interesting match ups.

Division North
SDFC SAMBA vs NJ CRUSH FC TSUNAMI

WORLD CLASS FC '01 CHARLTON vs MATCH FIT ACADEMY FC BLACK

CONNECTICUT FC WEST ORANGE vs ALBERTSON FURY '01 RED

NEW YORK SC G01 vs EAST MEADOW HOTSHOTZ

Division Central
NJ FORCE ACADEMY IMPERIALS vs PLAYERS DEVELOPMENT ACADEMY STORM

MARYLAND RUSH RUSH 01G vs FC VIRGINIA UNITED 01

Anonymous said...

OMG I am not even part of MF Black team and by reading post knew even #2 guy did not have a clue. This team is playing up for league play

Anonymous said...

So much for not talking about MF

Between MF Black, NJX and Jaguars there will be a bunch of unhappy people after being promised things that won't be delivered.

Have been through it and it is not fun.

Anonymous said...

Nothing is being promised, Nothing at all. This is why I liked what I heard from DOC and coach at MF.

Unlike PDA, they are trying to say what I wanted to hear on bringing my child to PDA.

Anonymous said...

According to the EDP schedule NYSC has a 4:30 am game against MFB, wonder if MF had trouble getting a field???

Anonymous said...

Your daughter must have lots of skill, because that is their main focus.

My daughter who is big and fast and very successful on her team was turned down.

size and speed wasn't enough.

Anonymous said...

All the NYE teams have their important NY Cup games the day before 1st EDP games, that will be a rough weekend for all of them, good luck girls!

Anonymous said...

No promises have been made to NJX. I am sure promises have been made to the teams that are already MF. MF Black has been with MF for 2 years. They probably should get what they want if MF stays loyal. NJX is fully aware of their situation and if we really cared, why even bother going to MF. Really, there were 2 people who really cared about this whole MF merger. 1 left and the other parent is still here.

Anonymous said...

That is a BIG IF they stay loyal

Anonymous said...

I know from reading this board at seeing their team cal - they play NE Girls NPL (u13).

My question is - since they (MF) appear strong at this age (u12) - how are they at u13? Since they have Black (u12 1st team) playing NPL instead of their u13 team (2nd team or 1st team) and black team is listed as 00/01 on their own team page. ECNL/NPL is about the club not an age. Will this team stay playing up or at least the girls that can plus a few of the current u13 girls to go ECNL in the fall?

#2

Anonymous said...

They'll play on age.

MF will try to acquire a team at U14 for next year.....

or hope to attract at least half a strong team to tryouts and build from there

Anonymous said...

You guys know more than I do - it just looked odd that MF has three u13 Teams via GS and not one of them played NE Girls NPL. Instead they used their u12 team who happens to have 00/01 in their team name but also plays in u12 Flights.

#2

Anonymous said...

Maybe they had to have '00 in their name to qualify for the division.

The history of MF is that they take in full teams. Not unlike some other clubs....

Thus look for a full or mostly full team to fill one of the U13 slots (next year's U14). If not, they will struggle, which I guess is OK, since it isnt uncommon in ECNL to have clubs not show across the board brilliance.

Anonymous said...

The Match Fit Black (Lady Falcons) page on gotsoccer doesnt say '00/'01

Anonymous said...

you guys are MatchFreaks.. get over it. Such a crazy obsession with a soccer team. They are a bunch of 12 year old girls, just like every other team. The way you talk about these kids is sickening.

Anonymous said...

some are probably 11.

Anonymous said...

Nobody has really said anything about their team. Dont be so sensitive

One guy said the NJX long thrower would help - thats about as close as anyone came to analysis.

Remains as it has been - a top 5 NJ U12 squad.

Anonymous said...

There team web page and you tube video has Match Fit Academy FC 00/01 Girls nobody said anything about GS. Now maybe that is because of the Leagues they played in or maybe they have some 00 girls that they don't take to u12 games. I don't know.

I just asked the simple question, if NPL is club based what does that say about the MF u13 team if the u12 Team is playing in their spot or MF in general - If you are on our B team well you only play NPL at u14 - because we use u13 for our u12 A team to develop instead of you. That's not being a match Freak - if we call out PDA, STA, Wildcats and others - well this looks like MF is just another club that looks out for their top teams only and if your kid is not on it - roll the dice.

#2

Anonymous said...

Their - geeez my grammar bites.

Anonymous said...

Crush did that last spring as well

U12s played the U13 games and Tsunami played the U12 NPL slots.

Sure shows they werent chasing points.

MF 12s playing the NE NPL 13 sched had to be a very good experience for them. I see MatchFit Black played some of their best U12 soccer toward the very end of the fall season.

Anonymous said...

what does that say to your u13 team.

"You are not strong enough, go play somewhere else."

Anonymous said...

Or did not want to put the 13's in a position they were not ready for. Development takes precedent.

U12 getting challenged, U13 getting the training needed to play at NPL level next year.

Anonymous said...

8:49 That's exactly my point - I'm not saying that's not a great experience for the u12s but for the u13s and the u12B team next year when they use the u11 team to play their NPL slot.

#2

Anonymous said...

#2 is a bit confused - thinks it was about winning. Opposite was true.

Anonymous said...

"Or did not want to put the 13's in a position they were not ready for. Development takes precedent.

Matchfit has had these teams for quite a while. if they haven't developed them enough to play in the NPL, it ain't gonna happen in another season. What were they doing with this team the last 3 years.

I dont buy the rationale.

Anonymous said...

Actually the 13's were formed this year. with exception of ECNL where players played with Warriors.

Rest of 13's are new teams

Anonymous said...

"Hope she stays

Good for the division

I assume she is a seventh grader."

The new STA player is a very young 6th grader, an aberration in the U12G talent hierarchy...She was just playing up because she could.

Anonymous said...

I am new to these blogs but really enjoy reading for the most part. My son and daughter are on local teams and want to go to the academy side.We were at the fields on Monday and saw a pda south u 10 team put on a clinic against u 12 teams they had a mid and a striker out of this world they lost to match fit black by one .My question is when are tryouts for these super teams.

Cranford soccer said...

Just go to match fit or pda website!

Anonymous said...

Well I saw that PDA south u-10 team play they are nothing special not even close to being one of the best u-10 teams they must have been playing u-12 rec teams...I have seen them loose to teams that are not even that good in there own age group please get your glasses checked out next time you watch soccer

Anonymous said...

I heard the u-9 PDA team beat that u-10 team how can they be that good

Anonymous said...

The U3 and U5 teams are where its at

Heard one of the U3s will play 5 v 5 U7 this spring

What are chances of Manhattan tourney being canceled? Why have an outdoor tournament in the NE in winter time....not sure if I can send my daughter to another game that's in single digits. Not what its about at this age IMO.

Anonymous said...

Match Fit Black did not play in any tournaments this winter. The girls that attended were from Jaguars that a Parent put together.

Anonymous said...

Only snow will cancel Manhattan tournament. Thats a brutal tournament. Too cold and a pain to get to. That will be most teams first time outside since the Fall season.
Winners will claim to be the best and losers will blame the conditions.

Soccer is played around the world in all kinds of weather, there should be no whining about it "at this age" unless you are also afraid that she might get dirty...wait, turf fields you can rest easy now.

Anonymous said...

@11:38

Thanks for that info......how would you like to be giving ur daughter away at her wedding but when the groom went to slip on the ring there were no fingers to put it on. I get it your a tough guy but we are talking child abuse at a certain point.

Anonymous said...

Child abuse???? Do you let her play in the snow? Or keep her in a terrarium until the weather breaks? What about the summer, doesn't it get "too hot" to play then too? Maybe she's best suited for a tea party, not competitive levels of soccer.

Anonymous said...

Portable propane heaters great for this venue

Just a little tip.

Anonymous said...

No, she might burn herself...

Anonymous said...

Hey tough guy go stand your daughter outside tonight for a cpl hours in shorts and a shirt and let us know how quick dyfs gets there.

We wear winter coats/hats/gloves/snow boots etc when undertaking a winter outdoor activity. Guess all those companies selling that stuff can bypass mr tough guys family

Have to believe in seeing today's 10-day forecast that a postponement/cancellation makes some sense

These 8:00 AM games (7 AM showup) may see temperatures below 20 degrees - and with winds whipping above 10 MPH.

Anonymous said...

12:51 I don't know where I stand on this cold weather debate.

As a soccer fan I want to see the games as a Parent I don't want my kid playing in sub zero weather.

Look they can dress in layers and be okay - they don't have to play in shorts. I think if they played the entire game maybe everything would be okay, but the problem is waiting to get in the game for the 1st time or to renter the game when you have to sit around a few minutes in the cold/wind. It's tough on us watching I can't imagine being a 12 year old girl and having to deal with those conditions.

If it's that cold they should cancel the event or move it to another weekend and give teams an option to play or their money back.

Just my 2 cents

Match Fit had one u-13 team - they played Pre-ECNL As a result, the U-12 Match Fit Black team played the NPL for u-13 as Match Fit did not have a second team in the U-13 age group. I would guess that they will have two teams at u-14 and Match Fit Black will play age appropriate next year. But bet it was a great experience for them. Certainly better than playing up a year in JAGs like some PDA teams do.

Anonymous said...

After having a late season game in the Fall in brutal cold conditions, I don't look forward to repeating that for an extended day at a tournament. Too cold, increased chance of injuries if the muscles aren't kept warm. Why is it so early this year? Last year it was at the end of March.

It's clear why someone would choose the MSC tournament over Jeff Cup. As one poster noted, parts of Richmond are very dangerous and there is a possibility of falling into the canal.

Manhattan Kickoff was March 2nd and 3rd last year. Not the end of March.

Not to mention the expense of traveling to Virginia.. Days off of Work and School if you leave on a Friday.

WELCOME TO VIRGINIA...

Richmond has a fairly high crime rate, but the vast majority of serious crime occurs in and around the city's public housing projects, located mostly in the northeast, eastern and southside sections of the city. Muggings and purse snatchings, however, occur throughout the city, so be careful when walking or standing around at night.
Popular night-spots around downtown, such as The Fan District, the areas around Virginia Commonwealth University and Shockoe Bottom can become dodgy at night, so it is best to avoid walking alone or on side streets. While all of the night spots are generally safe, it is also wise to avoid any confrontations inside or outside of nightclubs, especially in Shockoe Bottom, as incidents have sometimes lead to stabbings or shootings. This goes for fights between other people; just go the other way.
In addition, much of the free and cheap parking in Shockoe Bottom is located under the freeway and train overpasses and have many dark areas; be aware of your surroundings when returning to your car after dark. As always, use common sense and avoid walking or parking in any areas that seem unsafe.
Most areas of the city are also notorious for car break-ins, so it is always best to have nothing visible inside your car, including shoes, clothing or trash if you park on the street, in open lots, or in unsecured parking garages.
Avoid swimming or even wading in the James River within the city, as the currents and dropoffs are notorious for getting the best of even those most experienced with the river. In addition, if on the riverbanks, be aware of weather conditions, as some areas around the riverfront are prone to flash-flooding.

I think it will be WC Charlton vs. NYSC in the finals,
EMHS have not done well against WC A-Team, and NYSC has the easier draw throughout. Hopefully the fields won’t still be frozen on 3/22.

Interesting EDP match-up on 3/23 NYSC vs. EMHS, but on the big field, not the ridiculous 9 v 9 format of NY Cup, either way great, and competitive soccer all around.

WCUSC Predators'01 West Chester United SC
YMS Banshees Yardley Makefield Soccer

Top four teams will be seeded. Seeding is determined by last year's tournament results, league play, and interestingly enough, coaches' rankings.

From the group above it looks like 1. WCUSC, 2. PL, 3. Nether, and 4. YMS would get the top foru seeds. If the Ukrainians apply, they would likely take the second seed and push YMS out.

FC Revolution and Fusion FC are two other teams which have both also not yet applied.

FC Europa has a fighter's chance of nabbing a seed because they made it to the semis last year.

Brackets will be out on March 12.

WCUSC, PL, BSA Rage, and Con FC all playing each other in one week at PL Academy Cup (not a Got Soccer event).

http://pennlegacy.org/cup/documents/2014ACGirls.pdf

WCUSC vs. PL should be a good one. BSA Rage and Con FC are probably overmatched.

Brackets for FC Europa Turf Cup on March 8-9:

A
UNITED FC U12G ADIDAS (NYW)
FC REVOLUTION THUNDER (PAE)
FC EUROPA LIBERTY (PAE)
UKRAINIAN NATIONALS BLASTERS RED (PAE)

B
LEHIGH VALLEY UNITED LVU 01 GIRLS GOLD (PAE)
NETHER UNITED XTREMES (PAE)
HARFORD FC UNITED THUNDER (MD)

FC Europa certainly gave themselves an easy path to finals (that is the Ukrainian B team in their bracket). Other bracket is tough.

In 11v11 action at same tourney:
CES CALVERT CREW WHITE (MD)
SOUTH JERSEY ELITE BARONS '01 WEST (NJ)
SOUTH CENTRAL PA SCPASA 01 LADY LIONS (PAE)
TBA (11V11) CHAMP (PAE)

Wow, is that true - no NEFC?

They should rework the brackets.

Anonymous said...

OK - I see they did rework the groups

Calvert Crew now in bracket where NEFC was

Nice work, Manhattan SC organizers.

Anonymous said...

Yes, they moved force up to top flight and moved calvert over to where nefc was to keep only 2 jersey teams on each side of bracket.

Thanks PA guy

So it looks like this board covers NJ, NY & PA anyone else have opinions on some other R1 states?

Question: Are many players attending clubs like PDA,MF, WC now for sessions to be seen for next year?

Anonymous said...

I haven't seen anyone new yet at our U12 trainings, but I am personally bringing my older aged daughter to training sessions with a new club that we would switch to after spring season. I see lots of this happening at the older groups.

Anonymous said...

I have attended one of those clubs above. I attended 3 sessions, and to date counted 15 total new girls during those 3 sessions. Yes I paid attention to see if my kid had a chance. I can only assume, more attended those sessions I did not attend

Anonymous said...

Those that want to join one of these teams for u13 are being seen now. They are not waiting for tryouts.

Anonymous said...

7:38 then your daughter is doing good, if she was called back for 3 sessions. My guess is that if the girl isn't a fit she would not be asked back.

#2

Anonymous said...

8:55 Just a quick question how do you know they are all new girls - how familiar are you with this team that you know all the girls on this team?

#2

Anonymous said...

#2 I wish I could say this was the case. Coach told me that he would never evaluate any player unless the player attends 3 -5 sessions. This would allow the new players to feel comfortable. At first, my opinion was my daughter would be just fine after first session, I was wrong she was so nervous. Glad coach gave her the opportunity.

Anonymous said...

Yeah, I could see how nerves can come into play with a 12 year old. No matter how tough they think they are. Sounds like a good coach - a few training sessions and then at tryouts on the same field with all the girls looking for a spot.

Good Luck 9:07 - I hope your kid makes the team

Some good reading here this evening. Thanks to all the quality contributors!

Anonymous said...

9:07 I agree with you, I heard the same thing from MF coach. He will not provide any feedback on any kid until he sees my kid or any kid in action for at least 3-5 sessions. I thought the same exact thing, really, what my kid?

You should be able to see her ability right away!

I too was wrong, I was appreciated that he stated this to me, cause I left thinking man my kid did not play like she can. After speaking to her she said she felt uncomfortable and did not know anyone. Even though he did a great job having the girls make her feel welcomed. I drove home thinking, thank god this was not a one time and done situation

Anonymous said...

Holy crap this MF coach loves himself. We get it dude, you're awesome..

Anonymous said...

Your wrong on the cup review. I think SJEB can beat Ajax

Anonymous said...

Probably going to be another 5-1 game

Anonymous said...

Getting a little ahead of things. SJEB must first get the result against Wall. Take care of that first.

Anonymous said...

11:14am I am one who wrote this. My kid attended a PDA session of yours and your coach was no where as professional.

Anonymous said...

Ajax wins will depend on coach subbing correctly now that the roster is full....$$$

Anonymous said...

What's next, 1:09? Crush tryout?

Anonymous said...

Looks like another set of friendlies have been scheduled at World Class: WC, EM, MF, and West Chester United (PA) all participating. March 8-9.

Anonymous said...

No PDA ?

Anonymous said...

Why invite a team you know will decline the invitation?

Anonymous said...

I would be salty too if my child was cut!

Anonymous said...

March 8-9 is not at WC. It is being hosted by MF.

Anonymous said...

Hmmm. My sources still say WC, not MF. But I will dig deeper.

Anonymous said...

MF hosting friendlies weekends March 8-9,15-16

Anonymous said...

Hope everyone enjoys the temps. next week at Randall's Island. High temp of 31 low 16. With wind I would say it will feel like 10. Enjoy!!

Anonymous said...

what teams are playing those weekends?

Anonymous said...

11:17, please refrain from being a jerk, and don’t you think we ALL want a nice sunny day @ 60 degrees?

If the team/club says we play, then we play, if you have the option to not attend, then you are on the wrong blog. This is for competitive girls, and yes, there is a difference, and if you don’t know by now, you never will, and it has nothing to do with money, its all about commitment, so, are you with us, or against us?

Anonymous said...

The best teams are playing, some of the best in the region, not all, but enough to make it extremely competitive, and if your kids team is not playing, you should put on a coat, a hat, gloves, and boots, and join us, we are Soccer Strong, and you better believe it...

Anonymous said...

What teams are playing at STA?

Thanks

We'll manage

Anonymous said...

You might manage in your fur coat...sitting in your range rover.

I agree it's to cold to be playing soccer in the 20 degree weather, especially at this young age.

Anonymous said...

Manhattan already cancelled numerous age groups.

Anonymous said...

which ones

Anonymous said...

Range Rover, eh?

Thanks for the upgrade.

Anonymous said...

We are ready for the 8AM game next weekend. kickoff weather forecasted to be in mid-twenties on the Island.

Anonymous said...

How many college and pro games are played in inclement weather? Your kid could probably care less about playing in cold or snow. Quit being a whiny, narcissistic baby. Maybe go find an indoor sport for your kid to compete in like basketball? Or would you still complain about the weather? Can't drive - there is a 1/2 inch of snow on the ground. You signed your kid up to play during winter months. Be an adult and deal with it.

Or have someone else take your kid and you stay home. No one wants to listen to your selfish moaning.

Anonymous said...

My kids play basketball and many other sports, unlike some. Most real athletes can compete in multiple sports at highest level and its healthy for them. soccer is not a winter sport you moron and nobody signs up for that. Indoor training and playing is fine. Read the guidelines on playing safe soccer, you can find it on MSC tournament website. It's dangerous and very un-healthy to play soccer in polar temps. These are 11 year old girls, just because you are obsessed, doesn't mean they are.

Anonymous said...

http://www.msckickoffclassic.org/Cold/index_E.html

Read it, you might learn something. I'm sure your ten year old will appreciate.

Anonymous said...

If you feel that way then why agree to let your team's coach sign up for the tournament? I guess that makes you the moron.

Anonymous said...

Simple solution: pull your kid. Do not allow her to play. Instead of whining on this board, be a parent, and tell the coach you are being a parent and do not think it is beneficial for your kid to play in cold temperatures.

Anonymous said...

MSC already cancelled age grouos and more on the way.

Anonymous said...

Did you go to school?

Anonymous said...

Why does the commen sense have to be at the parental level? Club/tournament first objective should be safety of the players first last and everywhere in between. Would you tough guys let your daughter play hurt if it meant a spot on their squad? I didn't think so......

Anonymous said...

Every parent should read manhattan weather guidelines. Just pure common sense to most of us. But there are those macho parents who obvious don't have common sense so tournament must post guidelines. A MUST READ,,

Anonymous said...

I am sure teams will drop out b/c of weather. We all hope one is yours.

Anonymous said...

@ 7:07

Why? Because they value the health of their squad over a perception of toughness? Point being whoever is running the "show" should do what's right and follow their own posted guidelines.

Anonymous said...

Maybe everyone should stop speculating about a weather FORCAST and wait to see what the conditions actually are on game day. Seems folks think they can predict the future here, if so I need some lottery numbers...

Anonymous said...

Well.....Friday, Saturday, Sunday this week were exactly as forecast on weather.com

Anonymous said...

Tempature forecasting is very accurate within 10 days.

Anonymous said...

What brackets at MSC were already cancelled?

Fire wood for sale. Look for my truck. Also leg warmers, hand earners, hats, uggs, you need warm weather clothing it will be ony truck,

I thought this was a dumb conversation until I just watched the news. It's going to be brutal, playing in the teens some games.

If Manhattan SC adheres to the Weather Guidelines that they have posted on the Kickoff Classic Website, the tournament will likely be cancelled.
cold weather guidelines

Anonymous said...

Not sure I follow all this Cancel event postings. I'm sure they will handle it the best way they can in their opinion.

PS. Is this because we know their admins visit this site? We have a push by some parents that might want to see the event cancelled? or is this by a rival club looking to start some trouble?

Either way I get the posts - it might be super cold - but every team that applied knew this could happen, why else would you apply for a tournament at the end of February early March in the North east?

Anonymous said...

The comments about canceling the MSC tournament because of good weather are laughable, and I am pretty sure its from the parents of clubs that are not participating, what is your agenda? If we play, we play. If we don’t, we don’t.

What is the big deal junior weather man, jealous?

Anonymous said...

I just was checking their site to see what the weather policy was and came across that guideline, so I thought I would share it. No conspiracy Dick Tracey

Anonymous said...

So you think we are morons, and don’t know about that link? Are you just trying to help? I doubt it, no reason for you to post that unless you have a vested interest in the event not being played, or you are a dope, so which is it?

Anonymous said...

You got me, I'm jelious that we are not playing in 20 degree weather at 8am.

Anonymous said...

I would be jelious, too, but since that is not a word I don't know how to proceed, is that some kind of jellyfish thingy?

Anonymous said...

How about tipping your hat to all the players that will be there at 8am to represent their team, their club, and who will lead by example, for all the premier girls to follow. These are not robots, they will not have fun playing in those conditions, but if their club says they play, well then...they play.

Anonymous said...

12:55 no agenda, it is what I said it was. If you think ever person who posts on this site is some U12 soccer obsessed douche bag who thinks they can influence the outcome of an event by posting on an anonymous blog, well then yes, I think you're a moron.

Anonymous said...

No, you!

Anonymous said...

Let's all agree, we are just scared that CRUSH will win this event...

Just bought my daughter brand new Nike cleats, you guys are all dead!

I take crush 4 to 1 to win.

Crush is not even going to win their bracket, much less the flight, stick to making corny self-promo videos.

Newsflash

WE live in the Northeast part of the country. It is cold. It can snow until April.

Also in case you do not know, Companies like Underarmor make very nice clothing for people in the NORTHEAST to wear on cold days.

I hope this helps those who are new to our area.

Return to your normal team bashing.
Thank you

Refuse to buy underarmor

All money tied up in team fees and gas

Crush should be wary of New York SC -and Imperials are never a walkover.

But smart money is on winner of South Shore and Crush going to final.

So early....anything can happen.

Anonymous said...

New York SC, never heard of them, are they from Manhattan?

Anonymous said...

It's nice that you are trying to your bracket look tough, but it's a walk in the park. All 4 teams are average at best.
