U12G / U12 Girls Youth Soccer

U12G  / U12 Girls youth soccer seems to offer the most teams and the widest diversity of talent.

Where these players will end up is anyone guess.

Welcome to the ride.

I had heard it may be a few new teams for SPRING in EDP.

Anonymous said...

Any news on who these teams will be?

Anonymous said...

Maybe the NJX players are happy in their current situation. Regardless, if your kid wants to play on a higher level, she will have a chance. It doesn't matter if it's ECNL or NE NPL. Your kid can get looks from good colleges. Just reach out to those coaches. My fear is trying to play ECNL and not playing against the best competition. Not all the ECNL programs have good teams. I rather my kid play against top teams in every match. So, alll you people who have to run to a ECNL team, have at it.

6:28 Some of the strongest teams in the region are going to be ECNL. Why would you care about other age groups. While I am a fan of NE grils NPL - this will be ECNL CLub 2nd teams, some will be good some may not be so good.

North Division:
Albertson SC (N.Y.)
Boston Breakers Academy (Mass.)
Connecticut FC (Conn.)
East Meadow SC (N.Y.)
FC Stars of Mass (Mass.)
SoccerPlus Elite (Conn.)

South Division:
FC Bucks (Pa.)
Match Fit Academy FC (N.J.)
PDA (N.J.)
Penn Fusion (WUSC) (Pa.)
World Class FC (N.Y.)

This division will have 4 teams that are not going to be very strong. FC Bucks, FC Delco or whtever they are called now, Albertson and SoccerPlus, every other game will be a battle at this age group just to get out of the region. How can anyone not be a fan of this league.

Where are the PA teams? Don't they still play 8v8 - you have such a good tournament, but yet you travel to VA - I guess Richmond has a lot more to offer than NYC at u12

Been around youth soccer for a very long time. Plenty of avenues besides ECNL and in the next few years, there will be other leagues. By the way, what College did you play for and what program are you representing now?

Anonymous said...

This is not up for debate.

You are fooling yourself-and yes of course there are other avenues.Only a fool would believe other wise.

The ECNL you see today will strengthen in next 5-10 years.

All leagues have weak teams. and even in the coming years there will be stronger and weaker teams. There will also be great teams outside the ECNL.- BUT all , and I mean all reputable clubs want a piece of the ECNL and they certainly see the business opportunity and potential for the future.

NPL is being set up as second on the pyramid to the ecnl. What will happen in next 5 years will make it clear that this is not your fathers "Super Y"

The USSF will eventually put any doubts about this league to rest.

Owners can already see the writing on the wall.

Here's my late night take on the whole Crush/Stallions situation:

A talented coach decided he was the most important element of a very successful club and figured he could move elsewhere and become the anointed King Bee.

And while I suppose only time will tell if he was right, the early recruiting wars don't bode well for his gamble.

Anonymous said...

8:31

You keep telling yourself that. ECNL no doubt is hot right now. But like I said once before, not the only league out there to get recruited from. I have been down the recruiting line before. Played D1 soccer and have many friends who are now coaches on every level of college. Most of those friends like the ECNL thing but they still recruit at ODP, HS, Disney and other Showcases. ECNL is not the end all be all. FC COPA, Wildcats, Stallions, TRE, NJSA are all good programs who get their players into D1 programs if that is why people run to ECNL. Not every kid can afford ECNL or an Academy. ECNL is a rich kids play ground. Many parents who have the most talented kids do not or cannot afford to play. Some of the best kids in the u12 age group are not playing for ECNL clubs.
Debate over: FOCKER OUT

Anonymous said...

I understand the expense issue. That is one of the many items that will be taken care of in the future.

I cant say any more except that the expense issue from a business side is recognized as being a big hindrance in collecting all talent of every economic level.

Think outside the box for a moment, what would you do to curb the expense issue for a competitive advantage and to build a solid girls academy from an infrastructure that has already been put in place The powers that be, are thinking the same way.

This is not about altruism, this motivation is about business and it's coming in the future.

The wheels are already turning.

Anonymous said...

When you add it all up at the end of the year, those other programs will cost very close to the top academy teams.... Any program worth a damn will cost you. Academy teams hit you up front with the big number while the other programs nickel and dime you to death all year long. All are making money.

think boys academy

Anonymous said...

aren't most boys academies supported be a professional team? which is why they are free? i would imagine the women's league will want to/have to be well established prior to creating and supporting an academy program. i guess there's always the possibility of MLS teams taking an interest in the women's game. it's always happening with a few clubs. b ut even then, i would imaging the seattle's and portland's of the league will want to make sure that they have a sustainable women's league prior to investing into an academy program.

WC & Crush would be a great mix

MF has mixed with everyone

PDA now with Toms River good mix

Now like other poster said we need the next level teams to combine somewhat to strengthen the age group instead of it being so watered down with 5 teams in a 30 mile radius

What are teams that are close to each other that could combine to make stronger teams with say each teams 1-8 player?

Anonymous said...

SDFC combine with Second Tier Academy, or with Jersey United.

Anonymous said...

7:26pm-I didn't think they did a 9v9 bracket at Manhattan at the U12 level, do they??

Anonymous said...

Stop talking about MLS and NWSL as I was told - we are just idiots - this is a u12 Board - don't you guys know that.

Anonymous said...

Don't think Jersey United has a U12 team

SDFC/STA be a good mix North/Central

Who be good to combine in South Jersey?

What ever to each their own. Good luck to all the teams playing Jefferson and MSC.

@8:31

HS recruiting? HS is a joke and they never recruit there and every college coach hates it. Everyone knows this but you. They would prefer the girls didn't play HS and pick up bad habits. ECNL is rich kids play ground? I'm a teacher and my wife is a nurse and 80 percent of our team is in similiar situation. We struggle to pay, but the other choices are very similar in cost and some more, when you have to add addition programs like you described. We didn't ask for ecnl, is was delivered to us and it is the best thing going. There are other avenues to d1, but ecnl is your best bet by far. If your kid can make it, the travel to practice can work within your family, you want to be there.

Anonymous said...

Most of the top HS players are also club players

The lower divisions and weaker D1s might find something at county/state tourney games........

Part of the process.... more so for some college coaches than others

I don't know who you are behind this anonymous board. Maybe we know each other in the outside world. I understand and I know what is being talked about in the future. But there is a big BUT. I hear what they want to do with ECNL but all this is just speculation and talk right now. I am worried about now! Not the future.
FOCKER OUT.

Anonymous said...

Some of you are saying that the only place to play is ECNL. How many NJ teams played in this league in the past? Now that 2 new teams from this area are joining some of you are acting like this is the only place to play because your daughter's team is going to play pre-ECNL.
Was NPL not good in the past? All of a sudden it is second tier. What about all of the competition still coming out of this league? Just an FYI, MF/PDA/WC are not the only teams in this area that can play and teach soccer.
If the NJX players do not make the MF team and their second option is NPL, that is a damn good option

Anonymous said...

Of course it is, 11:11

And I'd bet an NJX NPL club is quite competitive in tournaments, as they are now.

Anonymous said...

I see Fall NPL points came in and CRUSH has leapfrogged RAGE into #2 NJ.

Cruh now #3 Region and #7 national

Breakers has dropped to 3rd nationally as California teams now have 4 of the top 7 spots.

Anonymous said...

All we are saying is that ecnl is the best option if your daughter is good enough to make it. Period.

Anonymous said...

Wow, congrats Crush. Great to see that you are number 7 in the nation. Please post on your website and let everyone know. I'm blown away by your success and the power house team you have built.

Anonymous said...

Its all bs to take your money. Maybe 2% of listed so called scbolarships listed are for athletic. If you dont have the grades, your not getting sh**. So sit back let them have fun and screw ecnl and npl

Anonymous said...

I agree, what are the girls who left for PDA thinking? This is the number 7 team in the nation! ECNL should pick you guys up next week if they were smart.

It's the parents. They are nuts

Anonymous said...

Maybe ECNL booster guy on this page is the guy that went to PDA.

That would be kind of funny.

Really, though - I dont pay too much attention to what divisions teams are in at U12.

I like to follow the matchups, think it's great that NJ teams square off vs other states' best - and always root for the Jersey side.....my daughter's team or not

The games are fun for our daughter and family. The following of it is my crutch. Just something to do. As long as it's a blast - and a challenging character building endeavor, we will stay with it

Kudos to the rest of you in this boat. Not always easy, right?

Anonymous said...

11:43 you are so right. Its all about the grades in D1. The colleges never help the great athletes get in with laub standard grades. Look at all the football and basketball teams, same thing. I have always thought this too, they are all brilliant people, who just happen to be able to play a sport well. All the money comes from academic, the sports schalarships are never used, ever. Well maybe 2 %. Reality is, has zero to do with soccer skill.

Anonymous said...

Those blogs were sarcastic you dope and you fell for it and kept going. I want to go throw up now. GS is a joke, you dope.

Anonymous said...

"GS is a joke"

That right?

How many teams do you think match up well with EAGLES?

Dont go nuts over a number, a rank. Be proud, of course - but use GS as a resource - to see results - patterns......even a team's approach (are they playing high or low scoring games?)

It's there. No reason to ignore it

Anonymous said...

This is the 2nd year NPL has girl teams, this is the 1st year MF is ECNL. And just for the record NPL is 2nd tier in the US Club Pyramid. And yes MF/PDA/WC are not the only teams playing in ECNL. but for Jersey kids they are.

I'm not saying ECNL is the majors, but think of it as Baseball. MLB has A, AA and AAA before a player gets to the MLB.

In the US CLub model - ECNL is the majors, NPL is AAA, Premier is AA and Travel is A. No one is saying this is the right model or the only model. ECNL just happens to be hot and as a previous poster said once the USSF gives it's blessings and it will be on fire.

US Club soccer said they have a 10 year vision to reform youth soccer. I think we all can agree Youth soccer has many issues and at least someone is trying something - not for our kids but for the game - because our kids are stuck being the lab animals

You never responded to my response on how PDA will be deep for years to come . I agree with what some one said about PDA shore not being an elite team any time soon, but all the ECNL team needs is the best from the shore. When I originally posted, I said how they will get the best from the shore( toms river) but I also left out the fact they will also get nj forces best as well as a couple from nj X tinct .
North + South + shore + force + soon to be X tinct= A team to compete for a national title every year

Tough to argue with that formula .......

#coffee out

Anonymous said...

Compete for a national title ever year?

Guess you're drinking an Irish coffee...

Anonymous said...

Match Fit will compete with PDA every year

NJX- Parsippany- Berkeley- Montclair-Summitt- another shore club- another north club-coming , A team to compete for national title every year.

Anonymous said...

The ECNL team that will ultimately be better, will depend on those "difference makers" that come to one of these teams.

You could collect all the players you want but if Match fit, PDA or WorldClass happens to get a collection of "difference makers" that play well together then that will be the team to beat in this area .

It will not be quantity, It will be, what team is lucky enough to get a few of the HIGHEST QUALITY

That could be any one of these teams.

The question to ask is where will the few of the highest quality decide to play in the coming years?

Anonymous said...

@ Coffee Cakes
I don't see this happening that easy.

Anonymous said...

Hi #Coffee,

Sorry, I must have missed it. I agree PDA will be deep for years but so will MF and WC and your flavor of the month. I agree with the previous poster about girls that can make a difference, I think all the ECNL clubs will deep in regards to putting together a solid 1st team a very good NPL and Region1 Premier teams. But where those top 10 to 20 girls in the state go to play that can make a team great. The wild card is the flavor of the month, this will be your non-ECNL, non-NPL team that gets great training and happens to attract top players because of where they play the tournaments they pick to showcase their kids.

I'll use Crush for my example, maybe it's bad example because I thought I read that they were expensive. But anyway parents will bring their kids to showcase their talent on these types of teams that play the Big Tournament play Region1 Premier. Think about it, If a parent see's their kid as a top talent - but they are not being used the way the parent thinks they should be used - the parent will pull the kid and go somewhere else. There are a bunch of parents that do this, all it takes is a few of them landing on the same team and that's my fear about these types of teams the team is good, but what happens if players start to leave and you don't replace them with the same quality - then either you stay or you leave as well. Also, for me the thing that scares me about ECNL - I believe in earning playing time, not important if it's with the 1st team or the 2nd team that's for my daughter to figure out, but she will need to play - I am not a fan of not dressing kids on game day, this young. I don't see how that builds confidence in a 12 or 13 year old.

That's why I like this forum. I like what I read from some people, makes me think and I'm okay with being called an idiot and other things, because in many ways I am.

Truth is I want the best for my kid (like everyone else), I know soccer which maybe is a bad thing. Just want to make sure she is in the right place to follow her soccer dreams and that's what scares me doing the wrong thing from doing nothing to picking the wrong club.

#2

Anonymous said...

9:32 you are correct in making the building of confidence and overall mentality a pillar of your daughter's development.
And you are right the big drawback of ecnl is the large roster of 22-25 or more and the fact that the players won't always dress for an event. ecnl has many good point but is not the be all end all.See the big picture for yourself and don't let the hucksters fool you. More than one way to get there as wel have seen.

Anonymous said...

NO its is not the only choice for sure.

If you child has a chance to make an ECNL team and compete week in and week out for a spot. I find it hard to see many of us will pass this up.

Can you go play for GFA, Crush, etc and play many minutes or play for an ECNL club. I would lean towards ECNL. GFA have to history with Colleges, neither does Crush. just naming a few

Anonymous said...

How can a new club have a college history?

I assume you mean a list of girls that have been recruited.

Anonymous said...

No I understand there's no history, I am looking at the DOC's for both that have ties with college coaches. Most clubs do not, I understand that a very good team will be seen and college will reach to those teams individually. Just not sure if I am willing to take a chance

They need to decide what they want... a soccer player or a book worm...right?

Anonymous said...

That is why it is called "Student-Athlete".
Soccer doesn't bring $ into these schools.

Anonymous said...

Its a shame, double standard between men and woman. You have bumbling illiterate morons on the mens side being handed everything. Then you have these girls taking honors classes and at and doing hours of homework. Throw in 3 practices per week and traveling all over gods creation for tournaments on saturday sunday and now MONDAYS!!!!!!. Good luck if your daughter plays multiple sports. Its nutz

Anonymous said...

7:55... I totally agree with you but if we want to change this then we have to support womens soccer. I went to many Sky Blue games and the support was poor at best. Great tailgating and great seats. Best product in the market for your buck. So this year take your daughters and sons to see a great game played right here in NJ

Anonymous said...

I have been to quite a few. Great bang for the buck and great soccer. But they need to bring the beer garden back

Anonymous said...

Those men who you call morons are the ones who give the schools and all it's other athletes the opportunity, you moron. One sports pays the bills for all the rest. The girls get great opportunity, are able to get into the best schools that they normally would not be able to get into and get nice scholarships too. Yes, they work hard and it pays off for them if they are the chosen few.....

By the way, those men worked hard too and deserve it, you moron.

Anonymous said...

PDA is always a target and a bad place.
ECNL is always a target and a bad place.
Now all the schools are the target and the men's football program? Really?

By the way, why do they practice three days a week? Been doing this for 12 years at the highest level and never heard of that. Who does that? sounds like child abuse.

Anonymous said...

Don't take it personal, I was speaking of the majority of illiterate male morons that are given the scholarship regardless of grades and are pushed through school. Obviously your are not illiterate but the moron part is a toss up.

Anonymous said...

You are a girl. Listen to yourself. Today the nfl plays, but you wouldn't know. You are waiting for sky blue season, you girl.

Anonymous said...

Obviously not the highest level if you arent practicing 3 times per week

Anonymous said...

TBH; I am looking forward to Man City against Chelsea tomorrow, way more than this stupid football game, I mean really, who gives a shit about Broncos and the Seahawks, you?

Anonymous said...

Agreed, only the top clubs practice that much, and their teams show it on the pitch, so please continue to not practice as much, and when your daughter asks you in the car, why didn't we win Daddy, you can say, not sure honey, we practice twice a week....

Anonymous said...

You are right, not high level at all. Someday I wish my daughter could make crush. Put is this way, would be lowering ourselves by 5 levels. Keep practicing 3 days a week, that's what it takes I guess.

Anonymous said...

I like the broncos, I got 500 on them. Can you bet on sky blue?

Anonymous said...

Not a good bet, but hey its your money, as far as Sky Blue goes, would never know, have never been, but I have been to your house, and you could spend that money on some new drapes, just saying...

Anonymous said...

I would take that bet. Seahawks D all the way.

Anonymous said...

NO FOOTBALL TALK HERE, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, FOOTBALL TALK.

Anonymous said...

Crush practices three times a week, it has really helped us and I think all the other teams will start doing the same.
We also committ to two leagues and try for 8 tournaments a year.

Anonymous said...

8 tournaments a year, really? I think your time and money would be better spent on more training, and less driving. Its the training that they need most between 10-14, not the stupid tournaments.

Anonymous said...

I like elway and the broncos, that's how much I know about real football. My whole life is devoted to u12 girls soccer and I'm consumed with it. My daughter will get burned out soon, the way I'm pushing her and obsessed with her team and club. I want them to play 12 tournaments a year so they all get hurt.

Anonymous said...

I have been analyzing next year or my daughter.

On this blog, all I read is that ECNL is very expensive. I have checked out many other 2nd tier clubs. What I have found out is these academy's will charge the same amount about.

What I have factored in, which I am very surprised no one has posted this.

ECNL\NPL will have College Showcase's part of league. these players will have many opportunities to be seen. Additional cost to attend for these clubs. Got soccer points will not matter for these clubs.

If I take my kids to (lets use GFA\CRUSH). These teams will go and play region 1. Very good league to be a part of. (not knocking this) what is my concern will be. In order to be accepted to many Showcases our team will have to have a great season every year, accumulate Got soccer points. Here is my problem, to earn got soccer points, this team needs to attend many tournaments. Have to place or win to earn decent points. By attending all these tournaments will increase my cost. I can tell you it will cost me much more to attend a 2nd tier academy than play for ECNL or NPL team for an ECNL Club.

I have to lean towards ECNL club route (1st, 2nd or 3rd team) personally.

Anonymous said...

Makes sense, good post.

Anonymous said...

Just wandered down to U10. Very familiar poster and this will shock you all, only 20 some post and majority are about Crush. I think someone is board and playing in others sandboxes. The only problem is, they played PDA already and doesn't look good early on.

Wrong, I agreed. Stay put please. You know all.

Who said anything about aspiring to be on 3rd team?
Why so angry? What are you a girl?
I just agreed with someone.
Maybe you just woke up on the wrong club this morning. I understand.

That is definitely the crush guy down at u10, very sad...for him. You better hope he doesn't follow all the others to PDA, NJX is to far for him.

Anonymous said...

Wasn't this already posted last week?

Anonymous said...

12:32pm I posted 11:42am. I wanted to provide parents the research I did over the last 2 months.

Anonymous said...

11:42 this is same discussion I just had with my wife and our coach. There is alot of weight playing for ECNL club, even if 3rd team. Name of club will get you into tournaments alone. Prime example, Jefferson Cup has Ajax in top flight. Name pulls weight

Anonymous said...

Look at the PDA older girls, you have ecnl, then the second team north and PDA south teams. They are all doing very well and better than most 1st teams. So yes, one would aspire to be on 2nd and 3rd teams of some clubs, just not yours. Your teams are a money grab and a waste of time. No need for name calling.

Anonymous said...

Finally, some writing room!

Ok, let’s get back to the soccer-banter. I think its impressive that there are 3 NJ teams in the Top flight of MSC tourney, although that flight is not finalized, pretty sure its going to stay the same.

Where is MF, PDA, or WC, none in the Top Flight!

Anonymous said...

Are there any teams playing in the USFF Northeast Futsal Regionals next weekend in Wildwood NJ. Would love to see some of the top clubs in the Garden State there, is anyone going???

Anonymous said...

MSC better hope the weather pattern starts to change or they will be giving back lots of refunds.

Anonymous said...

Why? All they need is an orange ball, your girls not tough enough to play in snow?

Anonymous said...

This is madness...

Madness, THIS. IS. SPARTA!!!

Anonymous said...

Not about kids wanting to play the fields won't be open. Da!!!

Anonymous said...

Many turf fields. I wouldnt worry too much about mud.

Will it melt?

We'll see.

Anonymous said...

Is this now a weather blog?

Not sure how the elements will affect play, but I am pretty sure the Crush will need some divine intervention to win this flight....

Anonymous said...

Wont be easy

Certainly wasnt last year

Anonymous said...

I think crush has a good chance, easy flight from what I see. The MA teams are weak.

Anybody know the break down of new EDP brackets?

Anonymous said...

Who left, who joined EDP?

Heard ECNL clubs left JAGS to play EDP as well as other clubs.

Nothing yet on the EDP site

Anyone from PDA or had played for PDA, can you provide some insight.

I brought my daughter to PDA, MF and a few other clubs these past few weeks. I spoke to another PDA parent, or former PDA parent. The news provided to me was a bit disturbing. All the players on Storm, besides attending practices with team. these players have to pay for additional training with coach weekly. Isn't this a conflict? Basically paying coach on side to keep a spot, this is how I took the news. I have no issues with a child paying for additional training, just not with current coach.

Anonymous said...

7:54 if you only knew what transpires at PDA. To answer your question: Yes you better show up and pay for the non mandatory sessions otherwise your daughter is on the outside looking in

Anonymous said...

7:54, that sounds ridiculous, not even believable.

I guess it could be true, but I highly doubt it, and the PDA parents will never admit as such, they would look like fools.

Anonymous said...

What, not happy in your own leagues?

Now you have have to come to EDP, and bother us with your higher than thou BS, go back to JAGS, especially the Hotshotz, who needs you....

Anonymous said...

Shut up. Your daughter can't make the team or got cut. People can read right through you. You dope.

Anonymous said...

Sour Patch Grapes, yum.

Anonymous said...

According to BOTN, the EDP brackets and schedules are going to be posted next week, looks like the place to be this spring, good, bad or ugly.

Anonymous said...

This is the way of PDA, you have to pay to play for top team. FACT

Anonymous said...

matchfit DOC trains on saturday- xtra training with his u13 team. You have to pay for it. oops

means nothing..always optional, everywhere.

Anonymous said...

does DOC from MF charge players weekely during season?

Anonymous said...

Why do you care what other people pay? Move on, you sound like a loser.

Anonymous said...

I just heard that Harvard cost a ton of money, a lot more than most. Stay away if your daughter gets accepted. The nerve of them charging so much. You can get a great education at Montclair state too for much less.

Anonymous said...

My post was to see if this was the case or not, i was disturb by what I heard.

Anonymous said...

Yes, I believe you , when you say you are disturbed.

Anonymous said...

A lot of the coaches at PDA and most other clubs offer additional training at a cost. This includes mike oneal, DOC at PDA who has many offerings. And they are all optional. Stay where you are, nobody wants to disturb you.

Anonymous said...

Crush offers additional training as well.

Unfortunately , we do a lot of running.

Anonymous said...

Storm coach has a drop in training it is not mandatory. Its far for most parents so only a handful attend. From what i hear a group also trains with coach on another evening but you need to be invited. This is for the special players i assume. Seems like a conflict in that I"m sure those players will receive the benefit of the doubt in games. Lots of grumblings at PDA.

Anonymous said...

Who Cares if these coaches offer additional training? Know your girl - Is the training good? and does you girl need it? If she doesn't don't go - if she does well then that's up to you and her.

Think conspiracy all you want, the fact is these guys are good at what they do(or they wouldn't be doing this) and it's an opportunity for kids to get better and for them to make an extra buck, why else would you bring your kid? I hope not because you think it has something to do with playing time. If you think your coach is not fair - run for the hills.

#2

Anonymous said...

Playing time is key. More $$$$ in coach's pocket more mistakes you can make without being pulled off the pitch. DOC of PDA sends out email to all players u8-u18 this is ok. When coach is only training his own teams on the side this causes favoritism and makes parents talk. If your own business becomes your number one priority this causes parents to talk. When certain kids aren't pulled for mistakes this causes parents to talk.

Anonymous said...

I don’t see anything wrong with paying for extra training, but not with your team coach. Our club offers extra classes for GK’s and forwards at a cost, its a business, and believe it , or not, some girls really need the extra work. Its a win-win in my opinion.

I have also noticed that some of our girls have not improved much since November, mostly because they chose to play basketball, instead of Futsal, but that’s another topic.

Anonymous said...

No coach should be charging their players during season. During winter if a coach hold open winter sessions and a player wishes to attend with out side players I have no problem with this. I do have a problem if this extra sessions are only players from his team and not from 2nd teams.

yes PDA does this at all levels, basically I feel no coach should charge any player during season. Go to another coach if you are looking for additional training.

You don't think the coach will favor these kids that he is training extra and getting paid to do so?

Anonymous said...

Unwritten rule at PDA

You do not attend this non mandatory sessions with coach, YOUR CHILD will not be considered this team

This is why so many of us are upset on how PDA is run. Don't have to deal with it any longer, we have options. PDA will have to change their ways. Lost many kids to Match Fit, many left during winter months already.

Anonymous said...

Kids left because of playing time issues. They know match fit is inferior and will get more minutes,

Anonymous said...

Okay, thanks for the feedback. I will pack the kids up and get out of PDA.

Anonymous said...

So who is leaving Storm players that are not playing? What about Dragon players are they going to other places?

Guess depends where kids are from and if they go somewhere where they can play and get game experience than ok for them

Anonymous said...

You state that PDA coaches who do private training favor those players. No different than parent coaches who hire trainers to coach the games with a "deal" that has the parent's kid starting and playing most minutes. Correct?

Anonymous said...

Why would anyone leave Storm? 2 time defending NJ USYSA Champ - future ECNL team - They have top notch training, no? Top quality girls, no? What else do you want? - only 11 girls can start - that doesn't make them better than the 7 on the bench. As long as they play and get their minutes does it really matter - If a soccer scout is watching and your kid can play it will be very visable - starter or not.

#2

Anonymous said...

#2, after all these many postings, and every other source, what is your opinion of PDA, we play out of NYE, so our experiences are not similar, just want your view.

Thanks

Anonymous said...

Did Storm players leave before or after new girls were added?

Was the number low, say 15 or so...where the 2 additions would have had them at a still manageable 17 players?

What is the number at now?

15 is probably a good number - leave room in case a player appears out of the blue (moves in, etc....) or a B teamer proves worthy.

Anonymous said...

No Storm player has left the team.

Don't believe everything you read. They will be a tough team to deal with

Anonymous said...

OK, thanks, 12:22

Anonymous said...

we will deal with them just fine, don’t worry yourself.

Anonymous said...

Good luck! :)

Anonymous said...

PDA had 51 girls sign letters of commitment today.pretty good representation. Go to website to see list.

Anonymous said...

No need for such venom, guys

I was just going off the post that said some Storm went to MF....which would make some sense, since it might be a bit crowded now at Storm

None of this is critical of either organization

Anonymous said...

Never stated kids at U12 left for MF, just older kids are leaving for MF.

Anonymous said...

Storm has had 16 kids past two years. Now this spring 18. How is that too many?

Anonymous said...

What team 12 28?
Like the confidence

Anonymous said...

MF will always get PDA girls and same the other way.
Most go from PDA second teams , or for better playing time. Everyone knows this.

Anonymous said...

51 is a nice number, hard to argue about that number.

Anonymous said...

1.5 Not much to say.

#1 Girls Program last 2 years in the COuntry.

The current u12 team (Storm) 2 time defending Champions and future ECNL team. Dragons I think is number 2 and the NPL team plus they have Ajax down South - my guess is R1 premier for them plus the new PDA Shore.

The brand has a lot of pull.

In general I would be happy if my girl played for them - but with that comes a lot of pressure I would imagine - always have to be on your game or you get moved down or out - but you know that up front.

Thye are not the only game in town. But if your daughter can play the game - I would think they would have to be option 1

But that's just my opinion.

So in NY if you are from Brookly/Queens do you go out east on the Island to EM and Albertson or do you go to WC if you wanted your kid to play ECNL?

#2

Anonymous said...

Good question, and I am not sure, probably stay on LI, so Albertson or EM, although the EM ECNL team will probably be all the Hotshotz girls, who knows?

World class would be my choice. Beautiful facility and very good team.

PS. I'm not saying ECNL is all that counts - just asking the question - if ECNL was your flavor of the month?

I like the board and I like posting on the board.

I just think keeping things general and Anonymous is the best way. You never know you might say something that gets taken out of context and throws your kid's team/club/coach under a bus.

Not about that.

Who will be the Future NPL team?

Dragons = JAGS
Toms River FC COPA 01 = JAGS
Ajax = EDP

Anonymous said...

I agree with posts above, no coach should do any private training with players on his\her team.

Storm added 3 new players that will help this team out. Playing time will be an issue for those being affecting with add on's. No question.

Either way PDA, MF and WC place to be

Anonymous said...

Question

With new players, would you say Storm closed gap on World Class and Match Fit.

Yes Storm state champs, does not carry much weight in soccer world. Most of top teams did not attend.

Anonymous said...

Because you didn't want to play because of the other 12 tournaments you were in? Remember when you bragged about your indoor state cup win against a town team?

Anonymous said...

There was never any gap to close.

All teams win and lose, depending on the day.

Anonymous said...

Storm going from 16 to 18 will not be easy for coach to manage playing time and expectations of parent and players. also will have players who had larger roles receiving less playing time and players who started moving to sub role.
Will not be an easy transition, never is when you go to full roster at such a young age as U12.
Works fine at U16-U18 because more players are out due to injuries, etc.Dragons and Ajaxd parents must be wondering if they will ever move up as promised as new players all came from outside PDA as always is the case. Those B and C teams players and parents used by PDA as a money grab to use their dues to scholarship players they want to recruit from outside club to play of A teams for free and pay for their plane trips to Chicago, California, Arizona, etc.
PDA a pyramid scheme that Bernie Madoff would be proud of.

Anonymous said...

Not sure if you can read, but 51 signed today. Please tell us why this is a joke. And all 51 were from one team, right?

Anonymous said...

What club does your daughter play on? I want to make a change and sounds like you have the answers. Let me guess, you won't respond.

At U12, WCUSC/PF is way better than Con FC.

Haven't seen them in a few years, but the team that feeds into FC Bucks, CRUSA, was not very impressive back in 2011-2012.

If FC Bucks can grab some talent from YMS, then they'd probably be number 2 on your list. But WCUSC/PF at U12 is better than the other two. But next year the rosters get bigger and the players at non-ECNL clubs may make a move. We'll see how they all fare next year.
