U12 Girls Youth Soccer in Region 1

These young women have a year of 11 v. 11 under their belts and are ready to show what they can do. Across the 12 states of U.S. Youth Soccer Region 1, there are some impressive club teams who are a lot of fun to watch.

Please get back to soccer. NJX put up another crappy performance this weekend. Who wants to talk about that?
PDA did not meet expectations either.

Losing a game...real crappy.... Maybe if there MF coach showed up they would have won.......lol

Anonymous said...

Must be frustrating for some teams to travel so far to play good competition and they don't get all quality games...Maybe now I get why there is an ECNL league...Didn't make sense to me before but I'm starting now to understand why. I don't have my daughter in an ECNL club but thinking maybe it's time I better start looking.

This is what's going on on the U13 blog. It look's like MF is making a name for themselves...NOT GOOD!

Many problems at Mf. Starting with, who is the coach or trainer. Many promises made to get this team over and committed to Mf. None of the promises have come to fruition as of yet.
Power struggle going on between Mf and old coach. Parents are not happy with all the promises and lies and little suzie not playing the position they think she should. Parents are complaining to old coach who used to do whatever the squeaky wheels would want. Problem is Mf is in charge, not the old coach.
Style of play is way to direct always forward no matter what. Ño possession. Mf plays 5 or 6 girls the entire game who try their best but can not play an entire game. Perfect example is Mf goals they let up are always in the last 5 minutes of the game. Mf better straighten things out fast or its gonna be a long season and your gonna be minus a team. Its apparent they are grooming a select few for the ecnl team and keeping stringing the rest along with promises which quickly turn to bold lies.

Pretty sure they (NJX/MFNPL) will be fine

Every team has its logistical issues. And a time when it needs to change its tactical play.

Nice squad. And a decent start to the fall campaign.

Both sides are in on it. Old coach protecting her personal interests. MF not attached to this team beyond the paycheck. Bank on this to continue as the Holmdel area kids not likely to travel to Jefferson team's training and same goes for Jefferson team.

So the old coach will continue along having parents just where she wants with few options and likely to stay put. MF happy to keep the check.

Ain't youth sports just grand!!

Expect a few players to leave at year's end if not sooner.

They are leaving sooner. Thats for sure. You get what you give. Mf not committed to team and team is not committed to getting better. Perfect match. DOC stated he was going to be the trainer and is listed as the trainer on GS. Hasnt been seen or heard from.

So, its Sunday night at 9:00 on Labor Day weekend, and all you have to do with your life is check on young girls soccer to see the results from a tournament your daughter isn't playing in? Do you realize what a loser you are? You need an intervention. I won't even break down your soccer ignorance again, you illustrate that with every post. Go spend time with your own family, I'm sure your daughter can sense you're unfulfilled with her soccer performance. Lighten up buddy, just love her for who she is and stop obsessing on what you wish she was.

Anonymous said...

Why are we reading cut/paste MF U13 posts? Is there a problem with NJX Sol?

Anonymous said...

My daughter was there pal. Thanks for the easy win and the commentary from your parents. Lots of excuses.

Anonymous said...

To The Unhappy NJX Parent,

Why is MF trying to run an already nicely developed team? That is really horrible if their main focus is just on a few select kids. I'd be mad too and also looking elsewhere. I'm not quite sure what the deal is with '2' MF Teams - 'njx sol & mf north'. 2 separate teams with girls playing interchangeably to try and see which girls playing ecnl?

Maybe the NJX parent is unhappy their coach didn't show up at Stars. That's not MF's fault. That's the coach's fault.

Or maybe the NJX parent is unhappy they had to wear MF uniforms. NJX agreed to join up with MF. If the NJX parent didn't like that matchup they were free to leave last spring and look for a new team.

Always drama with NJX,

"My daughter was there pal. Thanks for the easy win and the commentary from your parents. Lots of excuses."

Nah, your daughter isnt on SJEB. Nice try though trying to make their parents look bad. No excuses needed, SJEB is a great team. Their coach is a class act and does a great job with the team. SJEB coach even thanked us for knocking the Breakers out, who would have won the bracket. You're just a pathetic troll who was spending his weekend feverishly checking the scores for a tournament your kid wasn't at. She certainly isn't on the Barons. You keep dropping further into the abyss of stupidity and shameful arrested development. If only you were so bold in person. Alas, continue to hide behind the anonymous blog.

Anonymous said...

Who coached NJX Sunday? Heard it was a different coach than Saturday.

Anonymous said...

And who are you? "Anonymous said". Big talk. No action. Sounds like you are hiding as we'll. Yes. Our coach is a class act. Comes to all the games our girls are playing in.

Anonymous said...

SJEB showed up at Stars. Should of won with a 3-0 lead vs. OP Fire. Lost it with a few seconds left on the clock.
Probably the only regional team that was able to compete against OP or Cincy.

Anonymous said...

There's a difference I'm not all over the blog posting negative comments about girls or their teams. You are. I have nothing but compliments for SJEB, as well as Galaxy, Hamilton, Nova, etc. You're just a pathetic troll who posts negative comments about young girls playing soccer. If you don't see the difference, you're more stupid than I initially thought (is that possible?) And I know you arent any SJEB parent, they have more class and common sense than this. And they happy we beat the Breakers, so wouldnt be talking about how crappy NJX played. God you are amazingly stupid.

Anonymous said...

No need to tell me who you are. I know who you are. Talking away on the sideline to anyone who will listen. By the way. Thank you for knocking off the Breakers. Idiot. Matchfit is the ECNL club. NJX isn't. Get on board.

Anonymous said...

Once again proving your stupidity and that it isnt an SJEB parent. SJEB isn't an ECNL club, so an SJEB parent wouldn't even reference that. If they cared about ECNL they would go to PDA. Go away troll, or come over the next game and introduce yourself, since you know me and I clearly don't know you.

Cherry Hill only lost to OP 2-1 @3:51

Anonymous said...

Surprised Cherry Hill isn't also bragging about provoking the OP red card.

Anonymous said...

Which Oct. Tourney will have better competition - WAGS or EDP Cup?

Anonymous said...

I am looking to make the move to Maps or the other league Edp for my daughter. + I am researching the teams who play in it and they seem to be all over the place. What should I be looking for? Wins/loss how they rank, training or all of the above. Any suggestions on clubs to look into.

Anonymous said...

@9:34 pm - A little early aren't you did your season start yet? Should of tried out last spring for a few of the teams locally playing in EDP.

My suggestion is to find the closest team participating in the the League or an academy style program like PDA or MatchFit. See if the coach can bring your daughter out to a few session to be evaluated. At this age most of the Top EDP coaches already know who they are eye balling to join the team come U13 next year.

Rage got in the way of that.

Anonymous said...

Rage lost to a team from CT in the finals.
Wow, there's a first for everything.

Anonymous said...

@1034 thanks for the advice, very late didn't think my kid was really into soccer anymore but looks like she still is.

Anonymous said...

Rage always loses to top out of state 8v8 teams. Can't wait for them to stop ducking the nj competition and come full field. It will be an eye opener for them.

Anonymous said...

Isn't staying 8v8 for development and doesn't most other states stay 8v8 at u12? NJ is one of the states that start 11v11 early.

Anonymous said...

Eclipse in Illiois had 11v11 teams from NJ, IL, OH, MI, MN, GA, MO & NE.

Spirit in Pennsylvania had 11v11 teams from NJ, OH, PA, MA, NY & CT.

Stars in Massachusetts had 11v11 teams from NJ, MA, PA, OH, MD, VA, NY and Canada.

It doesn't seem that NJ is one of the states that starts 11v11 early.

Anonymous said...

It's a coach/trainer preference to go 8v8 or 11v11. It all depends on the players if your team does not have the depth that are developed it makes sense to stay 8v8.

But if you are like a PDA or MatchFit that can pull in kids already developed and have depth at every position then going 11v11 vs other competitive teams make sense.

Anonymous said...

I'm curious. The girls are bigger. Some are very tall. How can they develop on a smaller field? I think they may have problems at U13 when they move up to the bigger field where they have to make longer passes and run a lot more.

Anonymous said...

Being tall doesnt matter on a small field it is more on the amount of times she touches the ball vs amount of times she touches on 11v11 field is what we should be looking at not about running a lot more or kick a long pass.

Futsal is played on a small area and helps with faster decision making process and confidence. Same applies with staying 8v8.

Anonymous said...

State is moving to 8v8 at U12 for 2015/2016. There will still be some 11v11 flights in EDP/JAGS. Regional leagues most will be just 8v8.

8v8 is solely about forcing kids to operate and be more technical in smaller spaces. Ideally there would be a mid sized field for U11/U12. No smaller than 80/50 for this age.

Anonymous said...

PDA will stay 11v11. Too much $ at stake. It's not about the kids. And the other states top clubs just beat the nj teams at eclipse and FC stars bc they play small sided and get the extra touches. Lol. Full sided just for the big tournies.

Anonymous said...

Looks like Region 1 title is completely up for grabs this year. Good luck to all teams!

Anonymous said...

All PDA teams have to subsidize the cost of the older boys teams who have to offer out free scholarships to the majority of their DA players to battle with NY Red Bulls Academy (who are completely free). Why should others pay more to keep the clubs boys side from paying anything?

Anonymous said...

Do you guys think that the 11v11 teams aren't getting enough touches on the ball? That's something to laugh about. They get plenty of touches during their training sessions which are small sided then implemented during 11v11 play.

Anonymous said...

Guys 11v11, 8v8, 7v7 does it matter, touches occur at practices. Weekend games are just a added bonus. Win or Lose girls should be using the weekend games to try things they have learned in practice against stiff competition to see what works and get comfortable to continue using.

If your out for to Win games then go and player lower level teams and see how that pans out 2 years from now.

Anonymous said...

Wheres the PDA loyalty to its A-E teams? They just have BSA AB express pass to front of the line come tryout time. Lol

Anonymous said...

@Pipe down coach. Just because your team left you because they wanted more doesnt mean you have to come on here and spout garbage.

See you on the fields. oops sorry.

++++I dont think that team coach if they did they didn't do a good job replacing him or the girls that left they will b another njx. All promis e no results or is it the grass is too high or what excuse u got. coaches team finised 2 in labor day tourn where did they place 6 oops back to u++++

Anonymous said...

What team are you talking about that left the coach?

Anonymous said...

I guess it's time to bash NJX.....lol

Anonymous said...

Does anyone know if the new release of Blog 2.0 contain a translator? We sure could use one.

Anonymous said...

I dont think any true soccer person would be posting all this negative crap up here, bashing on PDA, etc. its embarassing. these are young, impressionable 11 and 12 year old kids. some who are great now will be outpaced by those who struggle now but outwork them. small become tall, slow can be come fast. you wonder why after a match real soccer players can hug and congratulate one another because its about the effort, the input, not the stupid result. what single win or loss matters at all at this level? whens the last time a college coach dished out a scholarship because a team won a XYZ cup tournament insane.

i represent a successful team from NJ found on many of those top lists and we could care less about our placement. rankings are a joke. teams chase points and miss out on the touches found in 90minutet raining sessions. a keeper stands there for 90minutes and maybe touches the ball 1/2 dozen times, maybe a half dozen saves. in a 90minute session, she might make 200 saves and have hundreds of touches.

i personally love to watch our girls play against PDA and NJX and STA and TSF and Rage and all these squads. some might be better than others, but it always is changing, but they all have soccer in them.

if parents would just stay out of it, just stay out of the negative conversations and bashing and comparisons the sport would be oh so much better. parents are enablers helping their kids, and in the case of the negativity on this board, the worst part of the sport.

all one should want is their kid to learn work ethic, be happy and respect the sport. if those things exist, they will do the work and be special. the most special? who knows, maybe but they will be special and soccer will be in their lives.

what an amazing sport and congrats to all the teams that work so hard whatever their results.

@September 12, 2014 at 3:50 PM

one of the reasons I chose to move my daughter from her top team. way to many parents thinking about rankings, parents also cruel making crude comments all the time to their kids and to other kids thinking they know it all, then the way they are shows in their kids--apple doesn't fall far.

Anonymous said...

Any Hamilton parents have some insight on their weekend EDP game?

Typically do not see a lot of PA 11v11 teams at U12 in EDP. Have to guess that going 11v11 brought in some quality kids, as the past history of West Chester is not very good before FC Delco tournament.

One or two player team? Possession? Dump and chase? Anybody see anything?

Anonymous said...

Hamilton parents are some of the worst. I'm sure they won't respond to losing.

Anonymous said...

I thought PDA parents were the worst, or maybe the Barons, nope it's NJX, don't forget about those Cherry Hill parents, or Pipeline, TSF or Rage. I just can't make up my mind!!! Sounds like somebody is a little bitter...

EDP South Division is heck of a division. Results so far.
Will be an interesting season.

NJ Rush Hamilton 1

Pipeline 2

NJ Rush Hamilton 5
PDA Nova 1

PHWM Fury 1
Cherry Hill 0

West Chester 2
FC Virginia 1

2:32 thanks. They should be using GS rankings to determine the bracketing play. Really does not make sense for 2 or 3 highly ranking teams to play each other in Quarters Finals.
Where is PDA Galaxy and Nova, and why even create a 8v8 bracket for 6clubs?

Anonymous said...

What happened to PDA Nova?
Smashed 5-1?

Anonymous said...

NJ Rush walks to the finals, reclaims their title

Anonymous said...

Does anyone know if they are still awarding points through gotsoccer for EDP games throughout the season or only to the bracket winner at the end of the season? Not a big deal but was just curious if it changed...

Anonymous said...

Is MF really that bad? Sdfc is average team and beat them 8 - 0. Why aren't they in some development division? I feel sorry for the teams that have to waste time playing them. They also got destroyed in lower bracket at stars of mass. I'm happy we don't have to play them. Maybe NJX will finally become a real MF ecnl club at this age group. Looks like they need some help too, don't see much on the win side, just a lot of playing.

Anonymous said...

Sdfc is not an average team. They will challenge the best teams in that division with ease. Don't take a great win away from them. It's unfair to the girls that played.
MFA is new. Didn't win mass. But not blown out either.
NJX is also a great team.

Why isn't your team playing any of them? Your teams loss I guess.

Signed. "Not a Monday morning QB"

Anonymous said...

8 0 is not a great win, it's a blowout and probably could have been worse. These games don't help anyone, especially the girls. NJX is not a great team, they are an average team and their record shows this over and over.
Great teams win and win consistently. NJX loses every tournament they play in, and they play in more than most.
Agree that the edp south has the strong division this year.

Anonymous said...

Oh Boy - somebody just woke up a sleeping bear, Njx moma bear.

Anonymous said...

They have not posted a point in last six tournaments from what i just saw on gotsoccer. We have played them and I think they are a solid team... maybe just not flighted in right brackets. We don't try and compete in top brackets at some of these elite tournaments. I didn't realize how much they actually play, twice what we do annually.

Anonymous said...

Folks, there are teams who started at U8 (PDA Galaxy), u9 (PDA crew & nova), U10 (most travel teams), and then u11 (many club teams). The teams who started at U8 and U9 better have their act together by now, otherwise time to look elsewhere. For all the clubs who just started at u11 or U12, they will be competitive in a year or two. Trust me, nobody gives a damn what a team's u12 record was, except for the obnoxious parents on this blog. Shsme on PDA for even creating blogs for this age group - it only serves as a forum for their chest thumping parents. The thumping will stop by U14 after everyone else has caught up. Lol

Anonymous said...

4:10pm: Well said, totally agree by u14 the whole landscape changes. Wish someone would save these blogs for the next 2 years. lol

Anonymous said...

Nice job agreeing with yourself, you troll. Lol.
It's not PDA fault, I blame wall street.

Anonymous said...

Well said @ 410

As to @431
Easy to just call names huh. Are we really that childish? I thought this blog mainly had parents commenting on it. Not pre-teens. Thankfully your behavior is not my problem.

Anyway I'm curious did anyone else have a good or bad game this weekend. Doesn't seem like anyone else played soccer.

Or is it just bash PDA and NJX time?

"Not a Monday-morning QB"

Anonymous said...

Most club teams start at u11, really dude? PDA is the only one who starts at u8? We have all been around since u8, where have you been hiding? MF has been starting teams a little later only because they are new to forming their own teams, not taking over a later ages like in the past.

Anonymous said...

No one should talk about any teams' parents. I think all teams have their sour apples. The best parents I've seen have been SDFC. It may be how the coaches have control on them but have no complaints. And I'm sure all teams change a bit year to year. Look at Jackson who've been together since U7...totally fell apart.

Anonymous said...

Okay , we can't talk about wins, losses , parents , teams , bad tournaments? What should we talk about, ISIS? This is a u12 NJ Girls Soccer blog, yes? Is talking bad about PDA, who never says anything on this board the only viable target? I wish they were on here, would be more fun for most of us. Folks, it's not about u14, it's about 2014 and having fun on this blog. If you can't take it, move on. Let me start by saying joe has moved on, I miss him.
SJEB is not as good as they think, but they hate NOVA and NJX. NJX needs to start winning, and not just beating SJEB one time. PDA needs to score goals and can't compete against the big Midwest teams. RAGE hides in 8v8 won't compete when they go 11v11. STA, IGFA, SDFC, CRUSH, NOVA, Cherry Hillbillies, hamilton and the rest should stay at town level. MF and WC have a long way to go and not sure they will ever get to top level for ecnl, what ever that is. Pipeline shouldn't waste their time traveling anymore, they are horrible. I need to get back to work, will check back after my shift is over.

Anonymous said...

Mar=tchfit NXj also beat barons 2-0 at SPirit, then lost at Mass.

Anonymous said...

8:51 - Is one funny Guy or Gal - Per his statement all NJ teams have issues from "not being any good", "not scoring enough", "teams hiding", and calling 1 team "hillbillies". LOL

Love how he/she stirs the blog up.

Anyone hear any rumors of another potential ECNL club in NJ?

Anonymous said...

Any teams out there who have improved from last year? Any teams who have not?

Anonymous said...

MLU 5:11pm comment: Town Travel clubs need to merge together to stay competitive at this age and older. To many parents/kids that can't afford the pay for play style clubs.

Folks, MF needs to start developing their own teams at u9, not u12. Every club in the country is doing this, wake up. Good news is that have NJX pre ecnl and MF pre encl both registered, should be interesting next year.

Anonymous said...

I'm not sure why there would be another ECNL in NJ added. It's not needed. You've got PDA who will draw the top talent from most top teams including their Shore and South teams when ECNL comes in two years. Also FC Bucks pulls in some top talent from the South as well. ECNL is for top players of top teams. That is why their level is considered higher.

Anonymous said...

10:35pm: So NJ will only have 2 ECNL teams PDA & MatchFit. Why do some regions/states have 3.
Like: NC, Mass., PA, Ohio?

Anonymous said...

9:34am: If you look at the ECNL club map, you can see that there are plenty of ECNL options for NJ players between PA/NJ/NY. Like 10:35pm said, these are elite teams. The more you add, the more watered down they get. If you want your child to play at that level, you should be willing to do the drive. NC has 3 - it's a larger state geographically, as is OH. MA only has 2. PA could probably use one in the western half of the state.

Anonymous said...

It all comes down to whether or not the ECNL even wants to expand the Northeast Conference's "New England" and "Metro" divisions to 8 teams from the 6 they have currently have in each. If they do go to 8 like some ECNL divisions have, I could see them adding a club south of 195 in NJ like SJEB and one in Western PA like Beadling to the "Metro" division. As for the "New England" division maybe they would consider clubs like Empire, Syracuse or Alliance but the travel for those could be an issue.

Anonymous said...

@11:37am - Understood so the Southern NJ, Delaware areas have pretty much no options for local ECNL teams unless parents are willing to drive nearly 1 1/2 to 2 hours.

Doesn't seem right but completely understand about watering down the top league for girls if they just keep accepting clubs into it.

Anonymous said...

12:55pm Continental and Penn Fusion are about a hour/1:15 from much of southern NJ and Delaware. FC Bucks is similar for those south of 195 in NJ. Maryland United looks to be not bad from northern Delaware. Look at the rest of the country. We are lucky to have this many ECNL clubs in the area (I guess. Still not convinced being in an ECNL club is the end all be all. But for those that care. . . )

Anonymous said...

2:14pm Agreed ECNL is not the "end all be all". I wonder if someone out there can provide statistics on how many U14/U15 national US pool players have gone through an ECNL club? Curiousity

Anonymous said...

I think there are players that have done just ODP or ECNL and ODP together. I think ECNL is great and the better option to go if you think your daughter wants to play at a TOP 25 D1 college. They will have more of a chance of getting a roster spot.

Anonymous said...

@2:27
Really depends on the high school that your child would be attending. Not everyone has the option to play on a team that might be competing for high school state championships. As such, their best option is club soccer, or ECNL club soccer, if you can get it. ECNL is more about college showcases than actual wins/losses.

72 players, 3 from PDA, 3 from FC Stars, 2 from Penn Fusion, 1 from Aztec, and 1 from FC Bucks. That was it from the northeast. Aztec had the only non-ECNL player from the northeast, and that player was a goalie, so perhaps a grain of salt?

16 players from California.
8 from Texas.
8 from Washington.
7 from Coloardo.
4 from Massachusetts.
3 from Pennsylvania.
3 from New Jersey.

Good luck.

Anonymous said...

@7:41AM - Thanks so much looks like someone is doing there homework and understanding.

Amzing how California has the most nominations and doesn't even equal the amount of nominations from the Northeast MA/NJ/PA.

Wonder if the year round weather helps with specific girls sticking to one sport.

Anonymous said...

CA is a small country.

Anonymous said...

So is NY, but no girls from NY?

Anonymous said...

Thus the reason why other countries are cathcing up on the girls side. MLS needs to adopt something for the girls side similar to the boys. Boys are playing and getting trained for free at MLS academies but parents of girls that love the sport will need to continue paying top dollar to be recognize at PDA, Matchfit etc.

I bet there are too many girls being overlooked becuase parents cannot afford the pay to play clubs. Even if they stay town and go through ODP that cost isn't cheap either.

TSF is out of the State Cup, our coach could not get the cards to the field, Jersey United waited for a half hour and then the Ref called the game and TSF was forced to forfeit, very bad situation, Jersey United only brought 9 girls to the game, apparently TSF will appeal, but I would suspect Jersey United would fight is as we beat them badly last year twice I think 6-0 and 5-0.
Very bad day for TSF.

Anonymous said...

That's a damm shame

Sta is a better team than nix, but most teams are.

Anonymous said...

Somebody's jealous that they lost!!

I think nj rush is good but not good enough to dominate over teams like sjeb or pda galaxy.

To the tsf parent : sorry that happened but what was the reason?? Traffic? Misplaced cards ??

Dear TSF parent,

How does the roster size of your opponent have anything to do with the fact your obnoxious condescending Brit coach couldn't fulfill the barest of minimum rules? How does the scores of last year matter? There are rules. You didn't follow them. If you played Galaxy in the finals and the situation was the same, I'm sure you would overlook the infraction of the rules. TSF is widely regarded as the most obnoxious parents with the second rate dirty players. Let's face reality.

Will TSF offer a refund for incompetence? Stop airing your dirty laundry here and figure out why you pay academy fees for treatment like this? You're coach has all the answers in sure.

Anonymous said...

@10:12 and 10:28 who are the same poster

Agree about airing dirty laundry and this is unaceptable f up. but what's your beef with tsf? Fees in line with other clubs. So is Parents 'behavior. That's not the issue.

This clearly wasn't written by a TSF person. If it had been, the line would have said "apparently WE will appeal," not "apparently TSF will appeal."

Also, TSF wouldn't point out that they beat Jersey United "badly" twice.

The Question is: Who posted this and why are you a drama king/queen?

Can't be Jersey United. They wouldn't point out they had 9 girls at the game.

Sounds like Jersey United showed some class and waited for the cards to show up. They could have accepted the forfeit immediately. Kudos to them.

For TSF, stuff happens. Can't help it.

For the true poster of this trashy Jerry Springer gossip, why not focus on your own team instead of gloating in the misery and mistakes of others?

Looks like NJX only beat MF by two goals - everyone else killing them. What happened here - was it really a close game?

Maybe Match Fit FC team will stay and be the real pre-ecnl team going forward and just take a few of the top NJX girls next year?

For the comment that there are no good teams in NJ, Barons beat West Chester 4-0 and NJ Rush beat Pipeline 2-0. good work out of nj teams this weekend

SDFC is on a roll, they blanked another team yesterday and scored 8 goals, They are very good.

@1029 2 goals are not alot, against a new team. It doesn't look like that team is getting "killed"

wonder how it played out

Anonymous said...

If folks are concerned about W-L, I can think of worse teams to be on that MF. They have an excuse: a new team. How about some of the older, established teams who can't win?

Anonymous said...

speaking of wins and losses, did IGFA and JU play yesterday, or did someone forget cards again!

(just kidding, but they do not have a score posted)

Anonymous said...

GFA WON 2/0 over JU

Anonymous said...

JU is awful!

Anonymous said...

No they are not!

Anonymous said...

There are no awful teams at this age, they are 11-12 year old girls who keep changing. Wins-Losses are not the goal yet, but I agree they do make the parents feel better. The girls roll just fine with the ups and downs.

But to call an 11 year old who is playing her heart out awful, well, I guess that just shows what type of person/parent you are.

Anonymous said...

Yes there are awful teams at this age and every other age. My daughters team is awful and all the parents know it - not this age group. We laugh about it every week. Why are you on his blog?

Anonymous said...

what's JU/GFA?

Anonymous said...

@746 I am glad we are not related. Why are you on the blog? to complain about your daughter?

Anonymous said...

Does anyone have their daughter playing middle school soccer? Good/Bad? Any thoughts on it regarding level of play?

Anonymous said...

@149
Middle school soccer teams depends on coach and teammates. My daughter plays up on an older team with a team and coach who are committed so the games are challenging and it looks like soccer. The team at her age never practices and is never coordinated. However, they always win because it is all kick and run.

Anonymous said...

Middle School Soccer is more of girl's social activity / after school recess. LOL

It's good for quality time with school friends away from competitve enviroment.

Anonymous said...

NJ Stallions is right there.. Clifton/Wayne
Great club!

Anonymous said...

The only "big" state cup game this weekend looks like SJEB away at SDFC

Anonymous said...

NJ Stallions coach is a nutcase on the sidelines during games.

Anonymous said...

I'll agree to the Stallions coach being a nutcase haha! But they seem to field a couple teams and place the best players together as they get older plus they'll drop their weaker players if needed. They also belong to the SYL league through the summer which is an added benefit. They have Class A and B licensed coaches as they get older which is what you need to look for. They produce some real quality teams at older ages and I'm sure the nutcase will be dropped.

Anonymous said...

The 3 good teams they have would be the 2 U17 teams (1 was formerly NJ Crush who the coach brought over, the other was formally NJ Dynamo who again got brought over last year). The other team is the U15s who got brought over by the same NJ Crush coach. So to say NJ Stallions has developed teams is inaccurate. All other age groups on the girls side are weak.

Anonymous said...

Sdfc over PDA galaxy today

Anonymous said...

Really? What was the score

Anonymous said...

Any state cup scores??????

Anonymous said...

See...my point exactly. Great teams/talent are obviously going to Stallions for a reason. It's just a great option is all I'm saying for the person living in Wayne. Players are still even developing at 15, 16, 17 years old. A player's peak of development isn't until age 28. Don't think so much about this age and 'weaker teams'...Just think about your own child's individual development. Just have your daughter attend a training at each good club around you and see where your daughter feels comfortable.

Anonymous said...

Good weekend for SDFC, 2-1 win over SJEB in state cup today.

Anonymous said...

Well said @ 4:00. Remember these are 11 year old little women. It is about 60% soccer and 40% socialization if not more. If she is enjoying herself and the training is adaquate she will thrive. No need to stress placement just yet. Too much will change over the next 2/3 years.

SDFC looks like the team to beat

yeah sdfc definitely best in nj

Who are the state cup champs?

Njx sol is nj state cup champ and PDA galaxy is nj cup champ but sdfc much better than both

What happened to the barons

Anonymous said...

Settle down. SDSC is a NEW decent team. They just started playing 11v11. Only time will tell if they are "the team to beat". NJX, Galaxy, and several others can and will win, any given Sunday.

Anonymous said...

Maximus not to shabby either. NJ indoor state champs and lost in final Spring state Cup...

Anonymous said...

Looks as if SDFC got a new Goalie or the Goalie has improved.

At this age it's any given Sunday or Saturday one team can outplay another team.

This is still a development age next year at U13 will be the critical year.

Anonymous said...

"Maximus not to shabby either. NJ indoor state champs and lost in final Spring state Cup..."

Unfortunately it appears the team administrator must have left TSF for a new club and took the player cards with them. ba-dum-bum-CHING!

Anonymous said...

9:42am. And what exactly is so "critical" about the U13 year?

Anonymous said...

SDFC had field players playing as GK this weekend as the regular GK broke her hand, which makes the wins against PDA and SJEB even more impressive.

Anonymous said...

Great job SDFC. Let the girls be happy with their hard fought wins and stop trying to figure it out. It's soccer.

Anonymous said...

Don't know why most of you hate to admit a team is playing well, but SDFC is playing well. This season they are the team to beat. ranking change all the time, that is why the Yankees did not make the layoffs this year.

WOW (about TSF)...embarrassing

Give credit where credit is due. SDFC is the team to recognize this Fall, beating PDA Galaxy then SJEB is a huge accomplishment to the team. I hope they take State Cup this Fall.

As for the FC Maximus vs Rage yes that should be a good match as well.

What are everyone’s thoughts about NJ doing a 8v8 state cup bracket this fall that goes directly to quarter final games. I think NJ should have a minimum number of teams registered before creating a state cup brackets like that for any age group.

Anonymous said...

its funny really - the same teams have been playing each other all fall - there is no 8v8 competition at this age in NJ. Maybe next year there will be - but not this U12.

Anonymous said...

How many maximus girls play for more than 1 club at the same time? They seem to be a regional outfit with teams at a few ages where they pilfered plsyers, not a stand alone club.

Anonymous said...

Anyone have experience with the Young Olympians Program, the precursor to ODP?

Anonymous said...

I think most are dedicated to their one team at Maximus. Not sure where you heard they play on Multiple teams. I think the U12G team is really the only team (boys and girls) that are real solid at that Club.

Anonymous said...

you can check for yourself, but Maximus has a top preecnl player on their roster. and they aren't ecnl

Anonymous said...

11:28. What a laugh Maximus has the top "Pre-ECNL" player. How do you know that when you haven't seen the all the players at 11v11 yet.

ECNL is 2 years away buddy many things can change and the top 2 clubs up here PDA & Match Fit have multiple teams at U12 to pull from and form there ECNL teams so how can you even make a statement like that.

Anonymous said...

Seriously? what a way to misread a comment. I meant that Maximus has a player who plays on another top team.

But yes I agree the tope players will not be know until then

Anonymous said...

Maybe learn how to write.

Anonymous said...

maybe I am trying not to post names, the inference was too difficult for you I guess.

Anyway, I propose that the top ECNL players are not even in ECNL clubs yet. there are quite a number of players that have not touched academy level yet, and can out play a great number of those girls.

Anonymous said...

And I hear this player is only 10

Anonymous said...

I agree with 1:48 learn how to write then maybe people on this blog will understand you.

Anonymous said...

"you can check for yourself, but Maximus has a top preecnl player on their roster. and they aren't ecnl"

I'm honestly confused. Someone on Maximus also plays on a pre-ECNL team? I'm not starting an argument I just don't understand what you're saying. Aren't PDA and MF the only "pre-ECNL teams"?

Anonymous said...

Yes and yes. You are not confused at all

Anonymous said...

I believe the blogger is referring to World Class Pre ECNL as that's closer to Maximus than PDA or MF. I could be wrong though

Anonymous said...

A Maximus player also plays for PDA Galaxy. Can't get any more clear than that.

Anonymous said...

So zero ole are saying that Macimus' roster us made up of World Class and PDA players? How does that work.

Anonymous said...

Players go in and out at Max. There are only 3 players there now, that were there 2 years ago..

Anonymous said...

I thought Maximus was a "supplemental" team. ?

Anonymous said...

Sdfc is alive and well on this blog, a lot of talk....
Who is maximus? Looking back, looks like they kicked your ass last year...Why didn't you post that game score ????????

Anonymous said...

Maximus will show SDFC in State Cup! Oh wait...

Anonymous said...

11:48-seriously? You're making fun of a team who has chosen to stay 8v8 because they want to continue to develop their players?

And don't retort with the tired line of "they probably couldn't get enough good players to field a 11v11 team".

Anonymous said...

For development, ok. They were playing up in an 11v11 league at U10, lol.

Anonymous said...

10:03-i was unaware of that!

Anonymous said...

8v8 is for development if you do not have enough quality girls to play 11v11.

Isn't Region 1 @ U12 still 8v8?

Anonymous said...

Playing 11v11 does not guarantee development. Playing 8v8 does not guarantee development either. Copa went from 11v11 to 8v8 and still can't win a game. Anyone say development?

Anonymous said...

Good coaching guarantees development. Couple that with 8v8 with more touches in smaller spaces against good competition promotes the best development possible at the younger ages.

Anonymous said...

8v8 vs. 11v11 is not really the issue. As has been said on this board before, the real development takes place at practice - with good coaches and players there to learn and that want to get better. Practice with small sided games and activities that give you lots of touches - you'll get way more in a practice, if its done right, then any game no matter if its 8v8 or 11v11. Sure, maybe you get more touches in 8v8 as compared to 11v11 games - but the difference per game isn't going to be so significant as to impact development greatly - unless you playing many multiple games per week - and thats not good or recommended for development either. It all should happen in practice - then the difference between 8v8 and 11v11 will be negligible.

Anonymous said...

Playing 8v8 or 11v11 games is not development they are just ways to show and perform what has been done at practices. Practices/Training and girls doing things on their own at home is true development.

Anonymous said...

Any chance a new ECNL team gets created in NJ soon? Maybe Cedar Stars Academy?

Is MF continuing to have ECNL in the future? I heard this is the last year for the 1 boys academy team they have left.

Anonymous said...

To answer the question above-

NJ Stallions will have the next ECNL status through NJ. Why? Let me explain-

To even come close to gaining ECNL status, you must own your own facility. Which right now, no club (even current ECNL clubs) own their own facility. PDA, Matchfit, WorldClass, etc- they rent their facilities- not own them.

For those who don't know know- Nj Stallions have purchased land in Fairfield NJ (Wayne/Montclair) area and will have two turf full sided fields ready by fall 2015.

Another way to gain ECNL status is to have successful teams under all ages through the club.

For those who don't know- NJ Stallions a was and still is a successful boy program for many many years- before youth soccer- nj stallions was a professional soccer team. In under 2 years- NJ Stallions went from having "0" girl teams to now 13. Out of those 13 teams, you have the following:

Girl Rankings on got soccer:

U17-Dynamite- top 5 in country
U17-B team- top 50 in country
U16-BEC- top 50 in country
U15- Stampede- top 10 in country
U14- Freedom- top 10 in country

Don't believe? Look for yourself. Strange how 2 years ago they didn't have a girls program to now ranking one of the highest programs in girls soccer in the state of NJ. No, these teams were not formed but they were brought over by two coaches who have committed to the Stalkions girls side which explains the reason behind these top teams committing to NJ Stallions.

Sdfc? You tell me other than rage, what older teams are ranked within the top 10 teams in state from their club.

Soutj Jersey Barron's? You tell me one girls teams ranked top 50 in country other than their 12s.

Maximus? Don't they have only one team in their club?

Njx/Matchfit? 90% of the players currently on the team now- wont be there when it matters.

TSF- boys club only and will always be that way.

Two kinds of ppl will come to this blog- ppl who live for the "NOW" and ppl who live for the "FUTURE" - hopefully the future is what you are aiming for regarding your child. Other than PDA- name one girls progr who has a higher ranking/success program than the NJ Stallions.

Say what you want and bad mouth anyone you wish- they obviously have it right.

Don't get caught up in the success your team is enjoying now- look for future.

NJ Stallions will have the next part of ECNL.

If we are going by rankings then others in NJ have successful records as clubs, the ones below haven't brought in teams like Stallions and have instead developed them from the ground up

SJ Elite 14s-15s and 17s are all in top 50 in Country and have their own facility.

SDFC have 12s-15s-17s in top 75 in country

STA have 12s-13s-14s-15s-16s in top 75 in country

TSF have 12s-13s-19s in top 75 in country

Obiviously PDA has the best all around girls program. MF is shaky all over with their most successful girls teams being ones who got brought over.

Anonymous said...

The coaches who have the teams from stallions have built these teams from the ground up- both coaches have had these teams since they were u9-u10. Which makes it even better/

TSF? Successful girl teams? None- what age? Only boy teams are successful. $3000 a year? 4 tournaments, twice a week training? Stallions are 2,300 = 8 tournaments, 3 sessions a week- 2 winter indoor sessions, edp- npl- and now region 1.

Sdfc? No way Jose. Liberty? Panthera? Rage is a great team- nothing else nothing. No longer an established girls program like they were years ago.

South Jersey Baroons- ill give you that one as they are a club on the rise. Very good club and well run.

Matchfit? A disaster club, you only find that out once you become part of their horrible program.
