U16 Girls Youth Soccer

Across the 12 states of U.S. Youth Soccer Region 1, there are some impressive club teams who are a lot of fun to watch.

South shore Select vs SUSA in the npl final!

Anonymous said...

I believe SUSA applied and was denied, which is ridiculous. Their teams are very good, top to bottom. Same goes for SSS. Their U12 team last year was by far the best in region 1 and I would guess some from that team are on the team playing SUSA.

Agree with comment above, DA is going to have some lopsided score this fall and I would guess a lot of player turnover.

Anonymous said...

Did you see some of the scores lately, Region1, NCS, EDP, NPL, USYS tourneys? Lopsided scores seem to be the norm in all the leagues.
If you want your kid to play in the highest tier, go GDA. Not for everyone, but no need to besmirch it, either.

Anonymous said...

Saying GDA will have lopsided scores is not besmirching. It is just discussing the scene in girls soccer.

Anonymous said...

Where you don't see lopsided scores is the ECNL. Before DA, a tremendous and very well run organization. Will be strong for a few years, but can it be sustained? Too many top clubs left the ECNL, so it will take some missteps by US Soccer (Fairly predictable) to survive as the top league or share the top spot with the DA. In NJ at this age, ECNL and DA talent are comparable for next year.

Anonymous said...

What's a lopsided score? 3 goals or more in 9 out of 13 games?

Anonymous said...

ecnl and da equal in NJ? Assume most kids stayed on ecnl at PDA to play HS then.

Anonymous said...

i would say loopsided are a 4+ goal differential in the same game. 7-2; 5-1, etc.
sometimes you get a game where it just an all out track meet with a soccer ball and coaches that still play old school without loading up the back with speed especially at this age.
when soccer was mostly long ball, you didn't need speed in the back. that is not the game, today.

Anonymous said...

disagree with ECNL being a well run organization. better than most, but flawed. that is why US Soccer came along with the DA.

Anonymous said...

1131 am

I agree with it being flawed. But what will change with the D.A. ... nothing at least what I witnessed at 1 of the new D.A. teams.
Still same coaches, same managers in charge same D.O.C. of the girls teams.
So now the ECNL & D.A. both are flawed.
Especially since most of a D.A. at one club was was predetermined before the 1st tryout.
Now that is flawed even before they started.

Anonymous said...

i think many DA teams that had ECNL teams already had certain kids in mind prior to try-outs. probably part of the reason they were granted an emblem in the first place. i don't think that is flawed. that's how it works, in particular in the first year. keeping the same staff and DOC, that's for continuity as well. maybe some new faces in the works to assist in elevating.

now, I don't think DA will be without its hiccups, but it shouldn't be the failure some are predicting on this blog. None of the leagues is perfect from rec league to International. Always room to improve. Most times, they evolve with the game.

Anonymous said...

9:04 what are you smoking?? Did you even bother to look st the Northeast Div. ECNL scores before writing your post? For the year, in just this division alone, there were 33 lopsided scores. 33! And that's among 4-5 different clubs losing, not just Bucks and MFA. Lopsided is defined per 11:29 writer's definition of 4+ goals, with about half being much more than 4. Come on man, don't post before verifying what you say is at least somewhat truthful.

Anonymous said...

Do you have a job? Can I assume you hate the DA now?

Anonymous said...

I hear CSA is completely screwing up the 2003 DA team, bunch of players left after learning who the coach was going to be.

Anonymous said...

The 2003 DA Team is based out of Monmouth. LOTS of options!! LOTS!! Who is the coach that is causing so much stress to these parents?

Anonymous said...

He is not the DA coach.

Anonymous said...

Anyone know what happened to BRYC elite at the '03 age? They were terrible at the usys regionals.

Anonymous said...

didn't really think they would ever have a team anyway. Where are the kids coming from? Any from PDA?
They will be like the bucks in ecnl last year....

Anonymous said...

Wayne galloway is the head coach of the 2003 D.A. at cedar stars monmouth.

Martin klinger is the NPL coach for 2003.
There was a email flyer put out to announce the coaches a couple weeks ago

Imho the tryout were flawed from the start.
They missed out on some really great players while playing politics and favorites for this age group.

So sad .. there were so really great players over looked.

They will soon find out there D.A is really a NPL team at best.

Anonymous said...

Why is CSA even in conversation. They are about as relevant as crush is right now and the only thing I ever saw from crush was banter on this blog. CSA will be like the bucks in ECNL...

Anonymous said...

PF just lost DA girls to HS and Coach is suspended

Anonymous said...

BREAKING NEWS!

***Classics lost the DA crest. US Soccer gave it to SUSA instead.***

Anonymous said...

12:42, 1:12, and 1:24 is all the same person trying to start trouble. Must be a PDA parent because that is the only DA team not called out. Nice try TROLL but we wont bite.

Anonymous said...

Give credit to NYCFC and NYSC - they also are GDA and solid teams even from last year.

Anonymous said...

So must be pda, because they weren't mentioned again.
Looks like the CSA parent hates his own club and pda
Both must have missed his daughter

Anonymous said...

Who is csa again?

Anonymous said...

If you don't know who CSA is, maybe you shouldn't be on a soccer blog.

Anonymous said...

Crappy soccer amateurs?

Anonymous said...

I believe the csa is cedar stars, the kids who have to wear really ugly stuff.

Anonymous said...

5 kids on our HS team are already injured because the dumb coach is making them sprint for two hours without stretching or water breaks.

These coaches need less credentials than a U-8 USYS coach.

CRAZY!!!!

I don't want to send my daughter because I am scared of what is next.

Anonymous said...

Sounds like he or she needs to be reported to your athletic department; in particular in this heat. Practice should just be cancelled. It's not worth any child's life.

Anonymous said...

Report coach and then your kid gets benched for next 4 years.

I thought coaches weren't allowed to start HS sports yet. Isn't there rules about this?

Anonymous said...

We are having "Captains Practices" where seniors haze the freshman under no adult supervision. HS is NOT allowed to have official practice yet so they get around the rule this way. If the coach is there, report him! If it is unsafe, report him! Safety First!!!

Anonymous said...

National Cup finals kicking off. Good luck to Reg 1 teams!

Anonymous said...

We have captain's practices too. I've heard that a select group meets with coach and discuss what they can do - so its not that bad. Officially the coach does not run full team practices.

http://www.njsiaa.org/sports/soccer
- practices start august 14th!

Anonymous said...

Wait and see . The D.A. will not be good for anyone. Its it encl players called the d.a. which equals more $$$$.
Also scouts were out last year watching the wcnl so now it is only a name changer and nothing will change.
The best report I have ssen is the scouting for NPL will be 1000% better.
Go to a good team that believes in our daughter 100%. Because if she feels good then she plays good.
Save your money and wait 1 more year .

Anonymous said...

Huh? What is wcnl?

Anonymous said...

1131 What

Anonymous said...

11:31 right on. Choose whatever is right for your kid
Team is too big - the chemistry suffers
Competition too strong - kids lose faith
Competition too weak - kids don't learn

Find a place where you can do your best and grow - scouting at U15 is not important

Anonymous said...

Is the NYSC 03 sky team the next year GDA group?

Anonymous said...

Anyone else find the NJ Copa team ,their parents, and coach to be obnoxious? Very disrespectful group .

Anonymous said...

Copa obnoxious? Imagine driving home with one of these Copa psychopaths after their loss at travel team "Nationals". Indianapolis humid must have brought the best out of them.

Anonymous said...

ECNL snobs obviously mad that an NPL team beat them.

Anonymous said...

The coach was loud and out of control and his daughter who is actually a very good player was very rude and disrespectful of the ref , and the opposing coach and players . Good thing the field marshal was called over to get them under control .

Anonymous said...

10:21 please don't be a hater and a sore loser. Plus every single word you wrote is flat out wrong, so lets add "teller of untruths" to the list. Are you the mother of the child who went around trying to level players until she unfortunately tripped herself near the end and dislocated her jaw? Everyone sincerely hopes she is Ok. But in the future please understand that that style of play runs the risk of injury, to herself and to others. The ref should have issued her a yellow card early into the game which probably would have prevented what occurred. You screaming out taunts after this incident was what caused the sideline ref (not field Marshall) to issue you a warning. Please thank your fellow parent who came over to our sideline after the game and apologized for your crass behavior.

Anonymous said...

11:01 Not sure what team, game , or tournament you were at but its clearly not the same game I'm referring to . I'm from the winning team so nothing to be sore about on my end.

Anonymous said...

Yes, that's the team that lost to FC Copa then barely squeaked by in double OT to both NYSC and Hawaii Rush (2 other NPL clubs).

Anonymous said...

I'm poster 10:21 and I still have no idea what games you are referring to but it's definitely different from mine . I'm referring to an EDP event in NJ . No dislocated jaws or screaming mothers on the sidelines that I am aware of . Just an obnoxious NJ coach and his foul mouthed , ignorant daughter .

Anonymous said...

The coach of that team does not have any children.

Anonymous said...

There are three 2003 Copa teams in NJ according to GS. Not sure if it is accurate. My bad experiences have been with COPA Black but can't say if that is who you are talking about. I am not as involved to know who's kid is who.

COPA Black
COPA Black South
COPA Red

Anonymous said...

Moron posters are talking about 2 different games. Get a clue...

The black team is slowly getting dismantled as players are exiting for other clubs with more upside. COPA is perfect for EDP/NPL caliber players with no future.

Anonymous said...

The team I'm referring to is FC COPA academy 03 Black South . Their coach looked liked he was gonna combust . Screaming and yelling at his players like an evil dictator. Was very entertaining but felt bad for his players until they started yelling the F bomb while on the field .

Anonymous said...

Copa south if full of screaming parents.

Anonymous said...

Don't see any announcements about SUSA getting the development Academy .

Anonymous said...

Holding out for Elite Development Academy

Anonymous said...

Or the Deluxe Elite Development Academy

So MF has horrible teams at every level and now they have lost their DA status. This club is done, sad.

Not at this age group, they have the Dannys girls holding it all together.

Anonymous said...

LOL. Every MFA team next year is going to be good. This year the youngest and oldest teams were very good, and the U17s and U16s were also pretty good and nationally competitive.

Anonymous said...

That's funny.

Anonymous said...

new boss same as old boss?

surf cup GDA games from the first day? 9 GDA games with a 4 goal difference or more.. just 3 age brackets. stick a forque in ECNL people, a new blow-out league is established!

Anonymous said...

@7pm ? huh? ECNL is done because a GDA team destroyed another GDA team. That doesn't make sense.

More like now there is another blow-out league.

Anonymous said...

Everyone who understands this on all sides understands that the DA in the early days will not have the parity the ECNL had.

Anonymous said...

ECNL used to have its own brackets at surf cup. RIP

Anonymous said...

Looking forward to the showcases for DA. We have schedule and I'm sure the college coaches do too. Bring on the hate.

Anonymous said...

haha. don't worry. it's coming.

Anonymous said...

Here we go again! My kid is better than yours.

Be Jealous!! Please please please be green with envy!

Anonymous said...

1/2 the DA teams are still doing tryouts. not sure what they will be showcasing. just hope they have a showcase at fort dix for old times sake.

Anonymous said...

the hate has started. don't think Ft. Dix fits their criteria.

Anonymous said...

ft dix is 100 % love. there is no hate

Anonymous said...

So much DA posturing just shows how' insecure you DA parents really are lol

Anonymous said...

Here come all the people who will say they didn't want to play DA, but in reality they were afraid their little Rapinoe wouldn't make it.

Anonymous said...

More DA bashing than support.
It hasn't even started yet so how can you do either?

Too soon to judge, all speculation now.

Anonymous said...

Tons of talent in both the DA and ECNL for the coming year. DA and ECNL parents should be proud. Impossible for the DA to get to what took the ECNL 8 years in one year. Will be some rough patches, including lopsided scores. In NJ, Sky Blue is stacked, CSA may take a few years. On ECNL side in 2017-2018 good teams. Hard to know what that will look like.

Anonymous said...

Why is sky blue stacked? Do they have two da teams? Does anyone know anything about CSA?

Anonymous said...

not sure if "sky blue" is the right way of calling it. pda and nysc are both sky blue - but i am not sure if there is a tier or mobility between them? who would know?

Anonymous said...

Both are using the same "Sky Blue" logo. That's not a coincidence. One playing in NE conference (NYSA), one in Mid-Atlantic (PDA)

Anonymous said...

Why is Sky Blue-PDA stacked? Is that a serious question?

Anonymous said...

PDA parents have always been nice and quiet at this age group, even when some Lyon parents joined them. Hopefully the new parents don't ruin it...

Anonymous said...

Lyon or lying? hehehe

Anonymous said...

Two Jersey teams in National League!!!

Anonymous said...

NL gets the scraps from whatever is leftover after DA and ECNL

Anonymous said...

Top NL bracket is better competition than ECNL fo shizzle.

Anonymous said...

Not close, sorry.

Anonymous said...

Just looking at nj NL vs ECNL (projected) based on current YSR (position - coefficient)

NL:
Pda south (2) - 34.81
Sdfc (5) - 34.07

ECNL
Pda north (6) - 33.82
MF (11) - 33.34

You could even speculate that on average NL may be better competition than DA.

Anonymous said...

@2:59 I think you are really misinformed or just don't know how to read the rankings

PDA ECNL 36.41
PDA South NPL 34.81 (this is not the NL team)
PDA Shore Freedom 34.08 (this is the NL team)
SDFC 34.08

So both the PDA ECNL and NPL team are higher ranked than both National League teams and yes a lot of teams are better than the match fit team as they finished near the bottom of the ECNL

Anonymous said...

I assumed pda south was NL - sorry - I also assumed the following, not sure if it's correct:
Last season's PDA ECNL = PDA DA
Last season's PDA North = PDA ECNL

Under these assumptions NL > ECNL

It's possible that NJ is skewed, and also possible that pda north NPL as well as MF recruited amazing talent.

Anonymous said...

That's a lot of assumptions...

Anonymous said...

Half of mf team was playing 02. I think they will be much better than last year.

Anonymous said...

The girls that joined MF have NEVER won.

Anonymous said...

Of course they will better the best players on the teams above them have left for the DA. #waterdown #halftimeshow #DGamers

Anonymous said...

Sorry to break it to you but the PDA North team is not the ECNL team now. Only a handful moved up.

Anonymous said...

The top girls at the PDA ECNL team have moved onto the DA. FACT.

Anonymous said...

So - who moved into PDA ECNL??? 10:34 and 7:26?

Anonymous said...

Girls who went and tried out. Some WC girls.

Anonymous said...

Great game on ESPN 2 Denmark vs. Netherlands. Maybe ESPN is getting the message finally. Cover women's soccer! Win back viewership.

Anonymous said...

That was a great game!

Anonymous said...

Who has any info on CSA, have not heard much at all. I don't know a single person who has gone there, or even tried out. I hope they will be competive and would be nice to see a real alternative to pda.

Anonymous said...

I know some of the kids on the DA. My guess is they will struggle this year. We'll find out in less than 4 weeks.

Anonymous said...

So they have a full team? Any idea on how many? I thought that many would leave pda if they didn't make the da and join CSA. I haven't heard of anyone moving from pda, but I'm sure there are a few. I heard Da at pda has over 20 girls and like every team, pretty sure 25% shouldn't be on the team and would be much better off on ecnl...

Anonymous said...

Why not just call CSA and ask them?

Anonymous said...

Angry person above should stay off blog, this is what blogs are about. I think csa will have some growing - building pains and not the place you want to be so soon. I know of a few ex mfa girls who went there and we know that was a good call. If you made pda da, then you are in good shape.

Anonymous said...

I am not "Angry" but confused as why someone wouldn't just ask the people involved if they wanted to know so bad. I am sick of hearing about PAC, PF, CSA, and PDA with this DA crap. They need their own page so we can get back to why ECNL is the best.

Anonymous said...

how I was the DA camp today? I heard only 6 girls invited.

Anonymous said...

Hope it wasn't local ...

Anonymous said...

PDA team is made up of kids from ECNL/NPL and other clubs including a few from MFA. The team should be pretty good. DA very top heavy IMO and next year 50% will be cut when 2002s and 2003s merge.

Anonymous said...

ECNL the best? Have you not figured out that US Soccer is behind the creation of the DA. This is where the money and funds will go. What don't you get?

Anonymous said...

I don't know of any girls from MF who left for or even made PDA DA?

Anonymous said...

Okay NOW that prior poster will be angry. they've been soccer duped

Anonymous said...

Speaking of CSA news, don't see any updates on the Bergen girls. Did that ever materialize?

Anonymous said...

I don't see anything. North jersey needs a nice program, everything decent is north and south.

Anonymous said...

unless CSA monmouth shows their ability to develop - who will trust CSA Bergen into their league?

Anonymous said...

zero info on these clubs, I think they still use a telephone only...

Anonymous said...

The top 3-4 girls for what is now known as CSA Bergen left for PDA Academy and NYCFC Academy.

Anonymous said...

From which team? I was under impression that the EDP team actually ended up being better than the NPL team (e.g. susa, copa results)

Anonymous said...

Last ten posts, who the hell cares get a life!

Anonymous said...

My kid tried out for one of the top NPL teams and never got a call back - settled for a decent EDP team and was able to progress nicely into a leader on the field - and hopefullt will be able to play varsity. Not sure if she would have survived the crazy trainer, I've heard a bunch of kids left disappointed over the years.

Anonymous said...

Does anyone important look at team rosters on gotsoccer or a clubs website?

some teams have rosters complete with current picture and recruiting links, some teams show no roster. Saw one roster that had 20+ names some with photos, some with numbers.

Anonymous said...

Team managers usually get this moving along.

Anonymous said...

8:59 - I was talking to a college coach during one of the end of season tournaments for my older daughter. They will look at players on gotsoccer once they decide to see a game (based on an invite/bracket). Obviously one of the research tools for non DA/ECNL recruiting paths. A team brochure is a better and more accurate tool - as long as it tells you number, position, graduation, GPA.

Anonymous said...

It is only a box to click yes and not hard to do. The coaches that keep the roster hidden are scared that poachers will steal their kids because they are insecure in their own abilities. The only other reason is that some of the bigger clubs move around kids from team to team so much that they can't keep up.

Anonymous said...

Or maybe they don't wa t creepy people looking up kids names and numbers.

Anonymous said...

safety is a concern in everything.
however if you wish to participate, you create an e-mail address specifically for contact and complete only what you want in the profile (the personal info is only available to coaches). but if others want it and you don't, you don't complete it/opt out. not everyone needs to participate in it. however if you want to, you should have the opportunity of doing so.

Anonymous said...

that's weird about rosters - i understand at younger age groups. ecnl and da will publish their rosters (i think ecnl already did?) . as will any us youth soccer competition.

god forbid teams would get scouted by college coaches.

Anonymous said...

@2:11pm - Wrong. The NPL team won the state cup in the fall and then 6 players left so there was no real team in the Spring.

Anonymous said...

Funny, crush still fighting and they are all scattered. Only one made pda da. So the big talk about CSA rescue, ecnl and da coming soon was all BS.

Anonymous said...

Practice practice like iverson said are we talking practice here is a tip any parent on this blog open your stove especially if it's gas close your head in and light it you are truly pathetic we are actually talking about college at 13 get a freaking life man I guess u should have stayed in school leave your kids alone da ecnl pda Odp pdp OCD ov iv lol why arenu guys this bad didn't sanys bring u candy as kid or maybe too much now your fat diabetic with stories of the past or you are thin mom team manager or a balding dad or a team dad I hope the da is your ticket to getting a life or npl or edp or ecnl or opp as naughty said or psa or map or elite or national or I'd or scout or d1 send your money in I will take it and say nice things too u and your wife or husband or wife and wife or hubby and hubby hell ill even train your kid with a Brazilian accent to feel better as I'm playing with your number two good luck losers and god bless let your kids enjoy ps all good kids at this age aren't on this website they are in ca traing nice try

stop worrying about soccer and start worrying about the opioid epidemic!

I think there are more pressing issues of world safety and ramifications, but this is a soccer blog. None of that other stuff allowed.
Plenty of other places on the net to rant about those subjects. So back to soccer...

Anonymous said...

how is HS soccer? DA is boring.

Anonymous said...

My daughter is so good she will skip the U15 and go straight into U16! Bam!

Anonymous said...

Funny. LOL

Anonymous said...

Anonymous said...

This is 2003 , but not much happening unless you play for pda. They have a very nice tournament this weekend.

Anonymous said...

I'm still laughing at the "Bam" part of 5:25 lol

Anonymous said...

Laughing at your own post?

Anonymous said...

What are the girls doing who play don't play DA, but are 2003 and still in 8th grade? Is the DA the only one playing now, or am I just clueless? My daughter is 8/03 - so playing HS and just running a lot.

Anonymous said...

just clueless

Anonymous said...

The DA kicked off this weekend and this blog is quiet?!?!?

Anonymous said...

Doesn't look very promising, just see how CSA did. Says a lot about how bad the competition is. Very sad .

Anonymous said...

DA crowd likely switched to the college msg board since that's where their kid will be playing. your kid will be stuck playing HS & EDP until she gets knocked up by her live-in bf.

Anonymous said...

This forum is more or less decommissioned - this would have been a u15 or 2003 - and a new forum was created elsewhere on this blog
