Another dismissal weekend for NCJCSA. When will they clean house, when there are no players left there?
Really?NJCSA U-17/18 3 Continental FC DELCO U-17/18 0.NJCSA U-15/16 2 Continental FC DELCO U-15/16 1
Beating bottom dwellers is not something to crow about
Seems like it was more of a dismal day for the Continental FC DELCO.
As long as there are the PA Classics, FC Delcos and Albertsons, NJSA will be able to win at least 4 or 5 games a year. That's enough for me to want to spend money over there!
To anyone that thinks politics doesn't exist in the academy setting, just look at PDA. Pull up the '00 U14 academy team page and notice that only two players have accomplishments put in their bio's. That isn't put in by the players, rather by the club. Looks like they only have interest in developing 2 players rather than a team of players. Recognition comes from a club promoting the player as much, if not more, then the performance on the field. Opportunities are given to a select few but not others. Maybe NJSA isn't that bad?
Don't know how PDA does it but at NJSA 04 we have to update our own bios as well as anything on GotSoccer. They never update for players. At least for our team.
Any word on those NJCSA new facilities. We were told in Fall 2013 they would ready for Spring '14. Have heard nothing as to where or when they? Any info. Sick of plying on borrowed worst fields from town in the dark. Where is out money going?
Yes, as a parent of an NJCSA player, I would also like to know about the new facilities.
There are none. If there were going to be any don't tough think they would have at least said where or when. Don't be naive
And even if the facilities are world cup standard and are ready tomorrow, you really think the local program will be much different than it is today? Worrying about the facilities is still missing the point. New facilities will be for national and regional level hosting to attract bigger market and exposure for the brand, not necessarily to support a local program. Think about it...
There are none and aren't going to be anyone.simply a ploy to keep players there and parents paying
Why are there two academies in NJ with only one academy team (cedar stars and matchfit?) Aren't all academies required to have three academy teams?
Cedar Stars will have 3 academy teams in a few years. They're a young club. Not sure about Matchfit.
The reason why Match Fit and Cedar Stars only have one team is because Match Fit lost their license/status to the U16s and U18s and Cedar Stars is because they are a new academy. The USSDA has decided that the U14s are too young to be traveling far on a weekly basis so they have decided to allow some other academies to join that age group across the country to minimize the travel. Academies with U14 teams only, Cedar Stars, Lehigh Valley, World Class, Prince William, Albion SC, Diablo FC and etc...
PDA opened up a can of woop-ass on NJSA 99's. 6-0.Now tell me again how all academies are the same after RB and Philly Union?
NJSA academy teams would loose to half the club teams in the state, that is a fact. The poor coaching and organization is the root of all its shortcomings
To 7:50 - What are you, bragging about 13/14 year old soccer results from one game? - If your perspective is that limited in time so be it - Of course all academies are not the same, But what happened at the older teams games? Nov 15 - U17/18's 1-1Nov 15 - U15/16's 0-0Schedule/Standings - http://ussda.demosphere.com/teams/68797515/47187427-68797603/TEAM.htmlBoth clubs have played very tough schedules facing 4 or 5 MLS academies during the fall. OverallPDA 18's have 6 wins, NJCSA has 4PDA 16's have 4 wins, NJSCA has 4Is PDA a better run club?, probably, but shouldn't we be happy to have very high level competition in our area?, recognizing that there are some very talented players who we will see in college or beyond all coming from here? kids on either club are getting good games and good training with players of similar skill and determination. The financing of the academy system still needs work - it is only 7 years old. It will be modified further - maybe either move to a 2 tier system - MLS division and a division with everyone else, or non-MLS clubs will partner with pro-clubs from elsewhere - ( a la Everton/WestChester, Chelsea/matchfit and others) - US Soccer is likely to continue to explore improvements - see the current NYT article - http://www.nytimes.com/2014/11/18/sports/soccer/us-soccer-plans-review-of-youth-programs-to-try-to-close-gap-with-europe.html?_r=0So really? get engaged, but pointing to one score line in one game to say 'my club is great and yours sucks' seems a but parochial
Let us look at the entire story shall we? But at NJSA, they are doing their talented players a disservice. Just read some of the posts on this board if you believe they are helping the overall academy system with their methodology towards training and preparing players for the next level.
Anyone who thinks there is good soccer being played in the area needs to get out of the area a little more. Maybe getting better, but not really close to being good. The US remains behind the world for many reasons, the level of coaching at the Academy level is definitely one of them.
Oh no, here comes those unsatisfied NJCSA or ex-NJCSA parents again. Do you really think you are preventing anyone from going there with all your stupid comments. LMAO!!!
Going there is the operative phrase. Are we to assume you actually are at NJSA, trying to throw everyone off and really haven't a clue of what your into or you are elsewhere and again, have no clue about what's going on at NJSA. Let's hear it so we can all LOAO!
Anyone know if Matchfit is on the market to be sold?
I hope there is more to attaining academy status than simply buying afloundering academy.
Any word on NJSCSa facilities?
If you ever want to learn about a club preying on crazy and gullible parents, look into LSTS FC. "Life Skills Through Soccer."
So what's everyone doing for winter training?
15 months and no news on "new facilities" at NJSA?
There were probably plans for new facilities at some point, but that changed with the new ownership. There are no new facilities in the near future.
They actually announced the new facilities on both websites when the merger was announced. So the new owner was aware.Another lie for the parents to choke down. Wonder what great pie in the sky promise they'll make next year to keep the hopefuls on board.
Of course they haven't told any of us there are no plans for new facilities. Why should they...there is no accountability.
And if you ask about them, you'll be kicked out. It's an embarrassing topic for them.
Again with this NJCSA crap. Give it up, no one cares!!!
spoken like a true njcsa management personnel
Heard new njcsa facilities being announced Friday. 12.12.14
Right, they are moving from borrowed cramped sjv to the local dump site....dont worry all is well though
9:31 so where are those njcsa facilities again?
USSF just dropped 15/16 and 13/14 academy for NJCSA. Cedar Stars now has 15/16 and 13/14.
Are Cedar Stars' mew teams made up of ex- NJCSA players?
Why would they do that when they beat PA Classics, tied with PDA, with teams below them on the table?
NJCSA doesnt say anything about any teams being dropped?
probably because it does not take effect until next fall
Is there somewhere we can read about this?
My kid plays for CSA and there has been no mention of that. Also the oldest team for CSA at the moment is the U14 Academy.
CSA is growing pretty fast. They'll have more age groups soon. They have a Newark Division now.
And they are now affiliated with St. Benedicts. Why do you think that is.. so they can fill 13,14 and 15/16 academy teams. Wake up people
10:47How is St. Benedicts going to fill out those roster if the school is playing high school in the fall. What is your answer for that???
Has anyone heard of FSA Academy? I’ve never seen this group before. My son is a goalkeeper and I was forwarded an email regarding a trip to Italy to showcase players. I’ve been told that several NY, NJ & PA academies are being represented on the team including 7 Red Bulls players from the U14 & U16 team. They hold practice sessions throughout the winter for additional training. Just was looking to know if anyone knew anything about this academy. Thanks in advance.
October 15, 2013 NJSA04/CSA Merger:"We have committed to working on a soccer complex that will enable us to continue to grow and attract players to our state of the art facility. The planning stages have begun and we hope to have this completed within 12-18 month’s" 3 more months to the opening of the new state of the art facility!Hope the snow holds off. Groundbreaking will be tough.
That would be nice but let's not get our hopes up NJCSA people!!
Wow...from no property or even location to state of art in less than three months. Talk is cheap.
That's alright there is still "casino night" for them pilfer from parents for "facility"
lol!Do not forget the $100 mandatory ad per player for casino night and another $100 per player to help fill the baskets for raffles.I love this place!
I have a question about Cedar Stars Newark division. Will teams out of Newark play in academy league or will they be club?

1:29Newark CSA will play EDP.1. Alot of the Newark CSA players play for ST. Benedicts.2. CSA does not have an academy license for U15/U16 or U17/U18.
My son is looking to leave his club team to try out for next years 2015-16 U16 RB , Philly Union or PDA Academy teams. I've noticed both RB and Union currently don't have a U15 team. How would a player get a tryout out at one of these clubs and where are all of next years players coming from?
The u16 academy team is a mix of u15/u16 players. Red Bulls and Union don't usually have open tryouts. You should look up the u16 coaches online and contact them.
The academy uses birth year so next year's u16 academy team would be 99's and 00's
Anyone know when RB typically offers roster spots to potential pre academy and academy kids? May, June? I heard nycfc contacted some RB parents of upcoming U14 players already, but wondered in particular do RB wait for spring season to finish before making offer. I'm going to just ask Simon ( and he likely won't tell me!) but wondered anyone's experience firsthand. Thanks for any info, Soccer Mom, kid at Met Oval, RB showcase team, 03 skills challenge winner. PS We need to move near family in either NJ or CT next year and driving myself nuts trying to be prepared since they (RB)seem interested in my U11... I have no idea if they really are but want to be prepared as there is the little bro U 9 and where he'll train to consider IF the long shot occurs. Such first world problems I'm almost embarrassed to ask but figure I'd stop lurking. Thanks all.
