I want a college opportunity for my son, but really don't like the way the older RB teams play. They are skilled and yet spend half the time rolling around on the ground faking injury. Top colleges will not put up with that behavior and worse still, life after soccer does not reward whining cry babies.
Any opinions on the NJSA04 Cedar Stars partnership? I wonder if the partnership will have a positive impact down here in Monmouth county.
On the NJSA/Stars partnership - glass is half full view - If you build it they will come - If the result is a soccer complex in the area which is truly a home, then all for the good. Organization of facilities has plagued both Matchfit and NJSA - importing the younger Stars teams will be good for the win/loss ratio to the extent that is important to you and the boys teams will benefit from a larger player pool - following the model of PDA, and other DA clubs (PA Classics for instance) club controlled facilities and large player pools allow a club to push forward talented players while still retaining players who need to develop further. Glass is half empty view - just a way to transition Tab away from the club without any real impact to teams or players development
I thought the same thing was going to happen with the NJSA/NJ Stallion partnership...hasn't quite worked out that way...a total of ONE player from the stallions made one of the NJSA Academy team and that was a U18...these partnerships are just another marketing tool / carrot to dangle.
Exactly, known quantity. But don't discount that few players would want to travel from the Clifton area down the shore.
Does anyone have any news on the new NJSA - Cedar Stars facilities? Will they be keeping the same NJSA trainers?
Is TSF an academy? They certainly present themselves like they are.
They are not listed on the US Soccer Development Website (USSF DA) so no they are not an academy.
ok thanks for clearing that up. I guess they're just hoping to get academy status.
Heard several Red Bulls 00 & 99's heading to Union next season. I know they lost a few last year.
All sorts of rumors out there that MF is done as an Academy after this year. Anyone hear anything definitive on this? Heard it's driven by US Soccer demands for facilities that they can't meet.
Same trainers at NJSA O4 for next year. They like what they have. Field still in the works
