This girls age bracket garners regional and national attention--Super Y, academy, club and town teams--they call this age group the "Super Gs" in several states.
Seriously, though, even if your club team is not entered in many tournaments, you still have evaluation options. College coaches will attend both Rider Cup and Region 1 tournaments, and you can always attend a camp at any college(s) of interest. It never hurts to contact coaches and invite them to watch a league game, particularly if the college is somewhat nearby and the competition is respectable (R1 Premier League, Northeast/Colonial Leagues, ECNL).
At this age teams should be playing almost as many Good Showcase tournamets as league games. Some of these top level leagues are short and squeesed into just a few weekends, so tournaments can fit. It is designed that way to encourage tournament play. Schools want to see many teams/players even at 2nd/3rd bracket or flight. Some teams sit out league play for HS, but play at least 3 and like 4 or 5 Tourneys a season. Not a year , but a season.
While is it easier (and you are not incorrect) to say what should happen, I think the OP's question concerned what happens in a less than ideal scenario. It doesn't matter how desirable tournament competition may be; if your team isn't playing, knowing that they should be doesn't move you forward. In such a circumstance, you need to take steps such as those suggested above (or join another team, but this is not the discussion for that)..
So what is an ideal scenario at u-15? Say a team that plays regional, but not a top 20. Since Spring and league play has begun, what would be a plan for Summer Fall for a u-15 team ranked around 50-100? Top flight tourneys are out, but 2nd and 3rd flights of good tournaments would be in. Remember, it would be the start of u-16 year? so share your(question out to all) thoughts/ideas. Consider H.S. sit out/ or should they play in league? Tournaments? which and how many. Consider EDP and/or Super Y?
Agree. Why sit out H.S.? Region 1 leagues not playing and National does not start until late, so why not play in the best local league possible and work on some things. But, more importantly play in lots of tournaments and be in correct flight to get to finals. Super Y ? not so sure. EDP Not. Tournaments and have coach/ and managers work the local colleges of those tourneys.
Very nice opportunity for women. These type of camps should be organised to get relax from nusy lives. Actually I also wanted to be a partner of a soccer camp so applied at Youth Soccer Camps to be a part of a soccer championship. To encourage young people as well the ones who wan to organize these camps can see this site for further details Youth Soccer Camps.
Some of the tournament issues I have encountered are due to the coach or coaches not available on certain weekends. Coaches have families and most often have another team or two. Sometimes another age bracket or different playing level.
Looks like Maryland finally got it right. Most all State Cup games at the Prestigious Maryland SoccerPlex. Last year they played on slanted polo grounds with wood chips and short fields.
Another weekend of tournament play and some league games. Spring is all about playing soccer. Lots of league games and tournaments. Even two leagues for some teams.
Top flight of Jefferson Cup; Not sure about the health of Stallions I know they were and maybe still are dealing with some injuries, but I like them or Ponte Vedra out of group A. I think Tampa will win group B. Tampa is very good.#19 and #20 for them are dangerous. I like Oakwood in the second group. I Hope the grass fields are in better shape at striker park than they were last year. Should be fun.
PWSI is the best team in Region 1 after last weekend they proved it ! After them it is the Sterling team most used to play for Samba when they were a powerhouse now they just joined forces to make Sterling that much stronger after Sterling next team is MSC our goalie from Sterling always shuts them down our goalie is one of the best on the East Coast next best goalie is from PWSI
We normally do not count va teams up here, but Freedom has always been a good challenge. Hope they stay together and keep playing, I know it is HS season down there, so maybe they are sitting out a season. The pwsi guy is getting on our nerves. Last team falls out of R1. so, see ya.
While seconds playing in Jeff, the real teams in Vegas baby! Coyotes strike jack pot and continue to roll at TOP.
Good thing with Coyotes now also winning NL Blue., Another team from R1 can side kick along with them back to Nationals.Heck , might even be their B team.
It's funny the March 17 7:25 comment was posted while the whole Coyote team was on an airplane back to Maryland. Some sad people on this site. Congratulations to the Stallions on the Jefferson Cup Title.
Likewise, the Stallions were traveling on a bus and didn't get back to NJ until hours after the posting. Both teams and parents respect each other for the top competitors they are. The only people who disrespect are those who get pleasure in stirring things up with their trash talk.
Congrats to the Coyotes! Our girls are looking forward to the next time they meet.
Congratulations to both the Stallions and the Coyotes! Two strong showings for Region 1 against excellent competition. Rather than trying to stir up trouble, people should be proud of these two teams and the way they represent the strength of our region against top sides from around the country.
By the way, does anyone know what happened in the Super Nova-Ponte Vedra bonus match? It seems to be the only result not posted.
Speaking of jeff cup, AWESOME performance by rising powerhouse BETHESDA ECNL!!! Only 2 losses letting in only 3 goals all weekend. Even scored against Empire from premiere league. Improving defense will make team a force to be reckoned with.
PWSI still adjusting to playing with the big girls. Lost to Region I finalist, tied Region III finalist and ENY state champ. Not bad when you haven't been on the big stage much. Even when two elite teams play, at least one can't win. PWSI have proven they can handle second tier teams, now just need to take next step.
Problem is that at this level if you do not put up results, things change quickly. Just ask Freedom. Appears VA now has four or five very good , but no exceptional team. Shame because their is some great talent there. Bethesda is a rapidly rising team. By Fall a top 10. Probably win State Cup in Maryland. Have two new players coming to BSC from ....
It is clear whom is # 1, and now looks like a new # 2 in the Stallions. I think we could do a closed circuit broad cast of the game and sell tickets. The Jeff Cup win is big. Lots of points and National recognition.
btw, last time Stallions played Bethesda it was 7-0.
State Cup rules allow for a state cup roster. FreeState Fury and Beth will have plenty of "GUEST" players. The nice part of having two teams. Mix and match, shake and bake. Pull the top 14 players from both squads. State Cup winner. Automatic bid to Regional. See you there.
GotSoccer doesn't tell you who the Top 10 in this region are. Lets be honest. Its good to see some of the results but everything on there isn't everything that could be logged.
Gotsoccer is one way to distinguish. Once updated in two weeks for all Late Winter and early Spring stuff it will be a good indicator. Not Perfect. Once Spring league play ends and State Cup stuff is done, I am sure there will be a clear group of four or five teams.
Memorial wkd should settle any disputes. Where are the top 10 teams Memorial weekend?
After reading the other posts and checking the rules, 2 teams minimum will go to Nationals from Region 1. Could be three?
How could there be three? Eight total qualifiers, of which four come from National League (all decided as of this past weekend). Four remaining spots go to four regional tournament winners. Pretty sure there will be exactly two teams from each region this year.
Mass and Empire play better soccer than East Meadow. Freestate has been there and still are, possibly the best 2 forwards in the region. NJSA04 won the Jeff Cup 2x in a row. PWSI are up and coming and will give several teams a run.
Would put Super Nova and Oakwood towards the top, 3 and 4.
Free State has two or three best players in country, but that is it.
Stallions and MSC at 1 and 2 today, 2 and 1 tomorrow. It will always be Stallions and MSC at top. Both are for real and lasting through difficult times.
Freestate has not been anywhere. Rarely do they get anywhere near a top bracket in a tournament and usually they are in the third or fourth bracket. And two best forwards in Region one? They are very good players but there are a lot of forwards in Region One impacting games for their teams on bigger stages at a similar clip.
I don't get the Free State infatuation on here. Gotta agree with 9:38 poster, as they have never shown they can win at the top level, and don't even get the chance to do so in most events. I mean, shouldn't you have to actually win something before being anointed one of the region's ten best?
You are really missing some teams. NJSA whilst okay and improved, seriously, who have they beaten? And jefferson cup winners twice in a row? Unless you are top flight, that really shouldn't be said. It's deceiving.
Top 10 has some divisions
1-3 (very similar level and in no real order) PDA Stallions MSC
Let us play PWSI 5 times and we will have 5 wins. 15 points baby!
always afraid to play Super Nova and Oakwood, because they are capable of winning occasionally against the best. We are fortunate to have 4 or 5 teams that are Nationally recognized.
Agree with the previous poster regarding Super Nova and Oakwood, who have shown what they are capable of.
Not as enthusiastic in endorsing that view of PWSI, although I would rank them below the other two.
FC Virginia should be in the discussion rather than Free State, but not above Super Nova or Oakwood. I see them as equivalent to PWSI: on the edge of the top ten, maybe in, maybe on the outside looking in.
Freedom? Right now they are 2nd in gotsoccer. Finished Jeff Cup badly and just finished National League with no wins. Not even in a league for Spring? WOW! LOL
Freestate? Really? What have they won? Since when do they have the regions best forwards? Are they national team players? There are other forwards from better teams in region 1 that are the National Team. Until Freestate wins something at a higher level, they don't count! Sounds like parents pushing them
Freedom is ranked highly largely on the strength of what they did last spring. That should be no surprise to anyone familiar with GS points. They experienced some turmoil in the fall and chose to drop out of R1 Premier League as a result. Lost eight players and so are a shadow of former team. Pretty sad, really, both for the girls' sake and for R1 losing an elite team. I always wanted them to do well enough to represent the region well, just not as well as our team! :)
For those remaining, VA plays HS soccer in spring and WAGS D1 is a joke, so only playing tournaments.
Jefferson Cup - Second flight (GS value 10000), semi-finalist Manhattan Kickoff Classic - Top flight (GS value 10000), third in pool Annandale Premier Cup - Top flight (GS value 7500), semi-finalist NEWSS - Third flight (GS value 7500), champion WAGS Tournament - Top flight (GS value 9500), semi-finalist FC Delco Tournament - Fourth flight (GS value 5000), champion New Jersey Cup - (GS value 10000), did not make semi-finals Match Fit Chelsea Invitational - only flight (GS value 750), finalist
In eight tournaments, the only times they even made the finals were in low-level flights. Yes, they have a couple of interesting wins, but overall, Princeton's resume is not that of a top ten team in the region.
It is pda tourney and the rules allow for up to 5 guest players per team/roster. playing by the rules that's all. Most tournaments allow guest players, so get over it.
Game shoudve been at least 4-1. PDA had several opportunities but just wasnt their day. ANyone watching game would tell you that. No excuses, but pda very unlucky that day. world class had two opportunites, one they finished, the other saved. PDA had several and pressured all game.CLearly couldve been 4 or 5 to one.thats soccer for you!
So many results...standings....torurnament crowns.....would not hold if it were just for the woulda/coulda/shouldas.......
I get a kick out of the analysis of a team that "plays 9 behind the ball", plays "kick and run".......(basically is a counterattacking defensive minded club by choice).....
that when they do this effectively, spring their lightning quick forward and convert - are not given crdit for such........
If they wanted to award victories on possession time, they would have tow referees, one with a stopwatch for each club and scores would read 47+-32+ for an 80 minute game.
Or maybe they should give half points for a clear scoring opp that is saved by the keeper or sails over the bar..... double points maybe if it was inside the area.........
The wya I do like to describe games is
a - possession time - 55/45, 60/40......
b - major scoring opps..... (be tough with this one - dont count the ball that dribbles quietly to keeper or the wayward shot from 25)
THEN give the actual score.
If it was
50-50 possession
4-3 in chances
and game was 1-0 favoring the team with just the three chances
you then could say the game was evenly played.
If chancs were 7-2 in your favor and you had clear 60-40 possession and you lost 1-0..... maybe cite it as a tough loss and praise the opponent's bend but dont break style or their keepr..........not just their "luck"
Find a way to see the good in an opponent that bested you on the scoreboard. The girls are out there working as hard as your group.
Then maybe some results you see in matches that dont involve your club wont be as surprising......
RICHMOND, VA (March 22, 2013) – The Elite Clubs National League will welcome three new clubs as ECNL Member Clubs for the 2013-2014 season. The new clubs accepted for the 2013-14 season are:
FC Nova (ID) North Carolina Fusion (NC) Match Fit Academy FC (NJ)
Matchfit has always had good players recruited in to the college ranks. The ECNL will only enhance what they have now. World Class can't throw stones since they have a team that avoids the heavy weights and plays light weight teams for wins. Don't you find it odd that World Class would enter a team in every age bracket for the PDA tourney .... except one? Hmm....
Only two teams in Maryland that have played each other the last three years for State Cup final. Coyotes seem to pull out the win over SAC every year, but always a close well played game. SAC is very strong and will be a contender in Region 1.
I would think an all star team of Free State players, SAC, Coyotes, and even a Mclean player or two that jumps the river everyday would be tough. I mean MD by the end of season will have the best ecnl team in FREE and National champion team. San Diego will be fun.
Free State Can't even beat the 7th Seed in the North East Conference - CFC. They have lost to them twice in like 2 months.
They are far from being the best ECNL Team. What happened last year when they had to play the North East teams now that moved from their conference. They lost to everyone. NorthEast Conference is by far a better conference then what FreeState is in.
@9:12 AM, there have been only two prior state cups, not three. Two years ago, MSC beat Free State in final, not SAC. SAC and MSC seem headed for finals again in what appears to be a fairly weak field.
Yes, please do share! As requested when you are invited to a training camp, they ask you to keep your mouth shut until rosters are released. What idiot (other than an idiiot so wrapped up in youth soccer that needs to gloat) would jeopardize their kids opportunity? While you are the one boasting, good luck to them as they will need it. I have seen them play plenty and they are not national quality. You will see. Hopefully you can keep your mouth shut
My guess is they were invited to ID2, where you often see three or four kids from the same club and team going to each camp held. I doubt invites will go out for the real National Camp for a month or so since they just finished up the last one. If they do get invited to the full one, just goes to show you what playing for a club where people have connections will do for you, as you are correct, there are many players that are as talented as these two roaming Region One.
Team is coached by George Mason assistant coach, who is a former player at Maryland. Don't know how good of a connection that is or isn't.
For the sake of the players mentioned, I hope the claim is true, because they are great kids and it would be cool to see them receive such an honor.
Previous posters are correct, however, in pointing out that there are probably a dozen or more better and more deserving forwards in Region 1, let alone nationally.
The Stallions players have followed their current coach from club to club to club, and you think they are going to bolt to play for a mediocre ECNL team?
You're either just trying to stir up trouble or you have absolutely no clue what you are talking about.
Probably both.
The Stallions team is an excellent team, and widely recognized to be one of the two or three best in Region 1. Neither Match Fit nor ECNL can offer those girls anything they don't already have access to.
FWIW, I'm not from NJ, but I respect the Stallions because they have pushed my daughter's team to a higher level through the competition.
We all know that PDA ECNL has over 8 players with college commitments. Stallions have 0. Colleges do not even know what website to reach with all the team name and club changes with the now Stallions or maybe The Blues etc... Whatever they are called now. I think I would worry about your own college commits because I do not see any?
This forum has become boring. Aren't team playing? If so can someone please start the my team is better then yours or something of the sort. This will living up the blah room.
Congrats to the Stallions. I for one am very impressed with the how the the Stallions not only stayed together, but have remained a contender in R1 and Nationally after what they went through last year.
FC Bucks would have to be in the top 10. Beating PDA in ECNL and winning a fairly competitive MAPS Spring showcase as well. I would say they are 4-5 in region at the moment. I would say njsa fusion should be in their at the low end.
one game doesn't earn the right to be in the top five. Really? what history did they prove to deserve top five? Win something and get back to us FC Bucks.
Bucks not only beat PDA, but dominated the game. Could have been worst. Not saying Bucks are a top 5, PDA barely breaks the top 10. I would think pda has a lot of pressure right about now on them. Pda falling, Stallions raising.
Nice try fool! Stallions were in texas the whole week, people asking who is playing this weekend etc and not a word was spoken on this blog, which should prove nobody from stallions is on here causing problems. PDA are a top top team in this age group, Stallions have a good relationship with them. As do both sets of players. Thats a fact that clearly annoys people on this blog. Try and create problems with other teams because it wont work with this one!
I am a Fc Bucks parent and I like to chime in. First off we couldn't care more about any rankings. Everyone is entitled to their own say, so if you like to say we are 1,10,50 or 100 have fun. Our team is playing very good soccer and the teams main focus is to compete against the best of the best in this country so each child is prepared for the next level in a few years. The girls are working hard and having fun as a team. We only pray that it pays off for each kid when they are ready to make their final decision on college. Our team has much respect for all the teams in this region - PDA is a great team and yes we won but we didn't dominate them, we out played them. There isn't anyone going to dominate them - This isn't u10 soccer. We were the better team that day and deserved to win. To say PDA was dominated or on the decline is a bogus statement. I believe that was their first loss all year! Stallions are another great team in which our kids, parents and coach have a lot of respect for. That team has been through so much through out the years and still manage to improve and compete at the highest level. Those kids are well prepared through all the adversity they faced. There are many other great teams as well that I haven't mentioned and on any given day each team will beat the other on the scoreboard. Be proud of daughters and enjoy each day/game because club soccer will be coming to an end before you know it. We look forward to the rest of the spring and competing against all teams - maybe even yours.?!
Thank You Bucks Parent for an honest assessment -- As a PDA Parent I will say the Bucks had the better of us that day, looking forward to the rematch next month. The Stallion girls should be applauded for the mental toughness they have displayed over the years --- Between changed names and places to train and all the other off the field stuff that has been rumored. They are a really good rival for us and we love(hate) playing you for that level of competition you give us.
I don't care about who is in the top ten either -- it is just great to watch all the girls work hard and keep improving.
Stallions parent here. Thanks for the honesty from the Bucks and our friends at PDA. I'll join in the love-fest. The competition between these teams (as well as so many others) is exactly what is needed to make all of our daughters better players. Wouldn't it be great if these teams could ignore all of the league restrictions and play each other in various venues many more times over the course of the year. That was what made the Dallas trip so important for our girls. It was a great opportunity to play against teams that they usually won't get an opportunity to play. Very good for all the teams. I hope everyone has a great season and stays injury free.
How about a really bold prediction: Stallions vs PDA/Princeton winner in final; Stallions win regardless of who the opponent is. My guess is that the Stallions are absolutely focused on winning the Regional title they believe they should have won last year (and they were probably right).
No question that Stallions are the favorite. They arguably could have been favored anyway, but with PDA and NJSA not playing due to league commitments, you would have to think it's Stallions' cup to lose.
But, as we've seen with March Madness, anything can happen. "That's why we play the games," as they say.
Post 7:54 had it right... Princeton can play with most teams, but they are very inconsistent right now. Take nothing away from them, they are playing well. But, top 10 in the Region? Uh, No.
Is watching top 10? Princeton just lost 3 zip to them. If watching isn't top 10 then Princeton shouldn't be losing a game by 3 goals to a non top 10 team in region.
Princeton a top ten team in the region? Assuming there is no serious debate that PDA, Stallions, and Oakwood are all superior to Princeton, we have at least three above them.
Now, how many Premier League South sides is Princeton clearly better than? Certainly not PWSI or MSC, and most likely not Empire Syracuse or Beadling, either. Super Nova, Empire Rochester, and SAC, maybe, any of those are debatable.
How about ECNL sides like FC Bucks, East Meadow, Stars, FC Virginia, or even Free State?
I agree that Princeton may be playing well now, but I think top ten on the region is still a bit of a stretch.
To 10:31's list, I would add Watchung Hills, PDA Spurs, CFC ECNL, Massapequa and Brentwood as teams that are all at least the equal of, if not superior to, Princeton at this time. Alleycats probably also in the discussion at that level. Not sure Princeton is even the best team in the Colonial League (Penn Legacy, maybe?).
Part of the problem may be that there isn't really a clear cut top 10 in the region. Probably a top four or five, then ten to twenty teams that are just inconsistent enough to be often largely indistinguishable from each other, at least when it comes to ranking order. It's easier to identify the top twenty teams, and it does seem like Princeton fits into that mix.
All in all, not a bad problem to have, as it provides good competition for the top teams in the region (among each other) and represents the strength of th e region well.
Top 3 is easy. Then two groups, Group 1 4-10 and Group 2 11-20 or 25 the same. Group 1 is capable of playing with and occasionally upseting one of the TOP 3. Spurs and Princeton in Group 2, and doesn't really matter who wins. Spurs will have a few other players rostered on their state Cup roster. No surprises there. Some players trying to get playing time and not travel/and pay traveling costs to sit bench.
Top 3 easy? What makes the Top 3 the Top 3? Who are those teams?
Then you say Group 1 is capable of beating the top 3 and does sometimes? So if that is the case what makes the top 3 the top 3? Your statement would mean that the top 3 only lose to each other and no one else.
Who makes up your 4-10 and what is their record over the last 12 months against the top 3?
How can the Spurs roster kids for State Cup? Doesn't make sense. They have 21 on their roster. Are you saying that those who are already on the roster will not be on the state cup roster. That is awesome.
3:52 -- Maybe a way to think about it is, what makes Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea in Premier League and Barcelona, Real Madrid in La Liga the top teams? And certainly they get beat or upset occasionally and not just by each other.
Top 3 PDA/Stallions/Montgomery have consistently been winning the top brackets in most of the tournaments they play in every season over the last year or two. Like the previous poster said they will occasionally lose -- PDA just lost to Bucks -- I think Stallions lost to AlleyCats and so on. But these teams do not have many Hiccups. The next group 4-15 being generous here have shown they can give the top 3 a good game and will beat each other.
In no particular order here: FC Bucks Stars of Mass NJSA Fusion PDA South PWSI Penn Fusion Super Nova Freestate FC Virginia Alley Cats Empire Princeton(not sure haven't seen them play yet this spring they will either step up or fall off I guess)
Posters at 7:20 and 10:02 both make good points about what makes a team a "top" team. There is little question that sustained success over time--not perfection--is the critical distinguishing characteristic.
Likewise, occasional but inconsistent success against "better" teams is generally a trait of teams that may be knocking on the door of the most elite tier, but which haven't yet been granted admission to the highest level.
Unrelated point: it's curious to see Oakwood not on 10:02's list. Is that oversight or slippage on their part?
Stallions/Coyotes and PDA are certainly the top 3. Bucks get credit for beating PDA, but really haven't beaten any one else. Stallions and Coyotes are well know throughout the country and have beaten top Region 2,3,4 teams from coast to coast, North and South. The others mentioned are talented enough on any given Sunday show up and beat just about anyone. It is very nice to have such great competition right here in R1. San Diego trip $2400 for my daughter and I when all was said and done.

Consider H.S. sit out/ or should they play in league? Tournaments? which and how many. Consider EDP and/or Super Y?

Very nice opportunity for women. These type of camps should be organised to get relax from nusy lives. What do you think about EDP ?
At least you are playing games until June.
Wow.
Thanks for advancing the conversation.
What's happened to FC Revolution? They lose players?
Where did your team play this past weekend? and where are they playing next weekend? If answer is nowhere, maybe coach is doing something else?
tournament or league predictions for this weekend?
what are the highligh matchups?
Top flight of Jefferson Cup; Not sure about the health of Stallions I know they were and maybe still are dealing with some injuries, but I like them or Ponte Vedra out of group A. I think Tampa will win group B. Tampa is very good.#19 and #20 for them are dangerous. I like Oakwood in the second group. I Hope the grass fields are in better shape at striker park than they were last year. Should be fun.
Don't worry about the Stallions, they will add a few guest players.
Jefferson allows up to 4 guest players.
They don't need any guest players. They can win with the right 10 players.
PWSI is an excellent team. Just look what they have done recently.
Won PWSI showcase
Undefeated in Region 1 play
Won state cup in VA
Score at will.
They are doing so well that they upped the fees. Just $3200 now.
Not sure anyone would want to play and pay for another team in VA.
Where is the Sterling team playing?
What actually are they called now? and who is on the team? Different coach?
Also heard FreeState looking for players. Up grading defense would be a good idea. The two strikers are the best in the NATION.
See everyone at Jeff Cup and good luck to those Coyotes in National play at Vegas. Region 1 is rooting for you.
PWSI isn't even in the TOP 5 in this region.
Please give me 5 TOP teams that they have ever won against in this region?
Why do people make such obvious troll posts? Keep it positive and informative. No need for the B.S.
PWSI is an excellent team. Just look what they have done recently.
Won PWSI showcase
Undefeated in Region 1 play
Won state cup in VA
Score at will.
I guess 1 out of 4 ain't bad, huh?
The miracle of the internet:
Sterling Freedom link
It's so hard to find this stuff, ya know?
We normally do not count va teams up here, but Freedom has always been a good challenge. Hope they stay together and keep playing, I know it is HS season down there, so maybe they are sitting out a season.
The pwsi guy is getting on our nerves. Last team falls out of R1. so, see ya.
When, exactly, was Samba a powerhouse?
When exactly was PWSI a power house? Still waiting on 5 great teams that they have beat in this region.
Ill even let a PWSI parent give me their top 10 and pick 5 from there that they have beat?
Stallions can take the bracket in the morning after a come from behind tie vs Massapequa......(won their first)
Game was a half field contest all second half but Stallions couldnt net the second.
massapequa just ins't the same team. oakwood should have been in the top flight.
East Meadow and Alley Cats are the class of NY now.
Nj Stallions vs East Meadown in Finals unless Supernova does what they do best and keep 10 kids behind the ball and play for a 0-0 tie.
hear pda 1 world class 1 in ECNL game lets hear the comments
Where did you hear that from?
Any other scores you aware about?
NJ Stallions go to the Finals @ Jeff Cup
PDA ties 1-1 World Class.
Has NJ Stallion taken over the top spot in this Region?
Who are the Top 10 teams in this region?
Looks like MSC Coyotes went 2-0-1 in Las Vegas to win National League Blue Division. Now Region 1 guaranteed two spots at Nationals in July.
You know, there are some really stupid, stupid people on here.
NJ Stallions win Jeff Cup Top Flight.
Hey coyotes you need to go across region lines because their are 4-5 teams on this side that give you fits!!!!!
STALLIONS!
Hate on, folks.
Great job, girls. You too, coach.
It's funny the March 17 7:25 comment was posted while the whole Coyote team was on an airplane back to Maryland. Some sad people on this site. Congratulations to the Stallions on the Jefferson Cup Title.
PWSI ? What happened ?
Score now posted. Ponte Vedra, 1-0
"Who are the Top 10 teams in this region?"
Start here, eliminate the folded teams, factor in player movements, emphasize more recent results, and make your case.
What ever you come up with, you're probably wrong (at least on this forum)! :)
I believe you have to actually play in state cup before you can win it.
"Lots of points and National recognition."
Well, that's certainly a good thing. Because the Stallions apparently had neither of those before last weekend.
I guess Bethesda's defense is pretty good, holding the Stallions to only one touchdown.
NJSA FUSION TOP TEAM IN NJ
If you don't include Stallions and PDA, maybe.
But only maybe.
Top 10 teams in Region 1
MSC
NJ Stallions
PDA
NJSA04
Oakwood
Massapequa
Empire
Super Nova
PWSI
Freestate
Massapequa and Empire are not in the top 10, East Meadow maybe.
Neither is FreeState or PWSI and since when is NJSA?
Mass and Empire play better soccer than East Meadow. Freestate has been there and still are, possibly the best 2 forwards in the region. NJSA04 won the Jeff Cup 2x in a row. PWSI are up and coming and will give several teams a run.
Would put Super Nova and Oakwood towards the top, 3 and 4.
Free State has two or three best players in country, but that is it.
Stallions and MSC at 1 and 2 today, 2 and 1 tomorrow. It will always be Stallions and MSC at top. Both are for real and lasting through difficult times.
March 18, 7:40 has it about right. I would move PWSI and Super Nova up:
MSC
NJ Stallions
PDA
NJSA04
Oakwood
Massapequa
PWSI
Super Nova
Empire
Freestate
You have to put Connecticut FC ECNL ahead of Freestate, they beat them twice in the last 2 1/2 months. Freestate hasn't beat anyone.
1-3 (very similar level and in no real order)
PDA
Stallions
MSC
4-7
FC Stars Of Mass
PWSI
East Meadow
FC Bucks
8-10
Oakwood
NJSA
Supernova
Last comment is the most accurate in terms of rankings.
Freestate is not in top 10 -- I also think FC Virginia is there instead of Super Nova.
Let us play PWSI 5 times and we will have 5 wins. 15 points baby!
always afraid to play Super Nova and Oakwood, because they are capable of winning occasionally against the best.
We are fortunate to have 4 or 5 teams that are Nationally recognized.
What about Penn Fusion? They are a solid team.
WOW! LOL
not a pwsi parent
Freestate? Really? What have they won? Since when do they have the regions best forwards? Are they national team players? There are other forwards from better teams in region 1 that are the National Team. Until Freestate wins something at a higher level, they don't count! Sounds like parents pushing them
Free State constantly improving. Picking up a couple Coyotes and SAC
players that have committed after Spring.
We'll see how that works out. From SAC, maybe; from Coyotes, unlikely, unless from White team.
Not gaining impact players, however.
Either way, Free State still not near top ten in region.
Keep overlooking Penn Fusion. They have and can play with anyone here.
Is this the same Penn Fusion team that lost to Herndon 5-0 and Bucks 4-0 last spring? Sorry, not a chance they can hang with the top 10 in the Region.
Princeton should get more ink.
Recent events (in last year):
Jefferson Cup - Second flight (GS value 10000), semi-finalist
Manhattan Kickoff Classic - Top flight (GS value 10000), third in pool
Annandale Premier Cup - Top flight (GS value 7500), semi-finalist
NEWSS - Third flight (GS value 7500), champion
WAGS Tournament - Top flight (GS value 9500), semi-finalist
FC Delco Tournament - Fourth flight (GS value 5000), champion
New Jersey Cup - (GS value 10000), did not make semi-finals
Match Fit Chelsea Invitational - only flight (GS value 750), finalist
In eight tournaments, the only times they even made the finals were in low-level flights. Yes, they have a couple of interesting wins, but overall, Princeton's resume is not that of a top ten team in the region.
Seems to be similar to other teams being bandied about......
Pretty sure that the team is a little different from Last Spring's team.

Arsenal players guesting for other pda teams. Need some points! and a few victories.
They are in the ECNL Division.
Where is the ECNL division?
Like to know who they are playing vs the non ecnl team to compare the levels.
http://www.pdasoccer.org/tournaments/pdagirlscollegeshowcase/704255.html
Arsenal guesting? yes ,absolutely.
It is pda tourney and the rules allow for up to 5 guest players per team/roster. playing by the rules that's all. Most tournaments allow guest players, so get over it.
Nothing new here folks, so move along
you have no idea what you are talking about -- Arsenal players will not be guesting.
If posters were required to know what they were talking about, this forum would probably shut down for inactivity. :)
Arsenal players will be busy enough playing their own matches during the weekend.
PDA Arsenal please talk about your 1-1 tie to world class and be honest.
Thanks
Cheers, all
RICHMOND, VA (March 22, 2013) – The Elite Clubs National League will welcome three new clubs as ECNL Member Clubs for the 2013-2014 season. The new clubs accepted for the 2013-14 season are:
FC Nova (ID)
North Carolina Fusion (NC)
Match Fit Academy FC (NJ)
Seems like PDA has alot more to worry about that World Class.
You will still be a top club but not as deep.
Welcome Matchfit to the ECNL PDA!!
The haters never go away.
Where will Match Fit be located? Montclair? Holmdel?
Could make a difference which players they will be getting.
World Class to the North
Match Fit to the South
PDA = the big slap of meat in between.
Matchfit = Putting a Dent in the Area
Matchfit has always had good players recruited in to the college ranks. The ECNL will only enhance what they have now. World Class can't throw stones since they have a team that avoids the heavy weights and plays light weight teams for wins. Don't you find it odd that World Class would enter a team in every age bracket for the PDA tourney .... except one? Hmm....
they have a team u15-u17 so what age/team are you referencing?
Is this right?
Pda parent can you talk about this result like you did the world class game last week?
15300 12:00 pm PDA ECNL U15 1-2 FC Bucks ECNL U15 PDA Soccer Complex #4
wow ...speechless.
Did you lose girls to matchfit already?
Two girls conspicuously absent from the game today. Heard from a parent that they were guesting with MF.
it was a good game by both teams. all team lose so stop that aren't superman.
Lets talk about Matchfit
They have 2 teams for almost age group and most solid.
Where will their home field be?
WC doesn't have a team in PDA tournament at U10. Kind of odd since they have teams entered in all of the other age brackets.
They are going to the delco tournament
Still odd. I guess they really want to hit North Rockland pretty badly! ha ha
PDA how did you do today against FC Delco?
PDA 2-0
PDA Blasted by FC BUCKS?
PDA falls out of top 5 and barely holds on to 9 or 10
It was a BLAST of a reunion!
First Herndon starts falling , now pda. Stallions look very tough, and Princeton on the raise. PWSI showed up and shipped out, 15 minutes of fame.
Go Bucks ! Go Penn ! Go Rage !
GO FC Continental!!!!!!
Go Insane!
Some State Cup scores and upsets?
In what state? No upsets this weekend in MD U15 Girls.
Only two teams in Maryland that have played each other the last three years for State Cup final.
Coyotes seem to pull out the win over SAC every year, but always a close well played game.
SAC is very strong and will be a contender in Region 1.
NJ,NY,PA MA > MD
Sorry CFC is sitting in 9th right now in NE Conference.
FreeState ha sbeat up on the whipping teams in their conference.
They still need to beat FC Vir/Carmel/Ohio Premier after that their isn't a threat in that conference.
If you look even deeper 4 of thier wins were 1-0 against the bottom of the barrel teams in their conference.
Dont pound your chest yet. You could still end up 4th and not even make the playoffs since your non conference games you did bad in already as well.
Free State's two forwards just invited to National camp. With a college coach coaching them at Free State, they are set.
Free State's coach is the coach at George Mason. D1
@9:12 AM, there have been only two prior state cups, not three. Two years ago, MSC beat Free State in final, not SAC. SAC and MSC seem headed for finals again in what appears to be a fairly weak field.
When will the Freestate players be attending Camp? I know the U-15 and U-17 teams just finished camp. Please share.
Where are the stallions playing this weekend.
What is the connection ? Club or Coach? Maybe someone else inside the club like the DOT ?
Is this the team coached by a college coach ? I guess that would be a good connection
Rumors out there already that NJ Stallions will be trying to get into Match Fit ECNL.
That should be a great tryout this spring, how do you think the girls from Middletown or Roxbury will feel about this??
That's just silly.
Coyote Mommy,
ECNL can do what you do not have now. A whole new pitch at u-15, u-16.
There are also rumors that PDA and the Stallions will join forces and make a super team that will have global dominance in the U15 age bracket.
See?.. I can do it too
Mommy,
We all know that PDA ECNL has over 8 players with college commitments. Stallions have 0. Colleges do not even know what website to reach with all the team name and club changes with the now Stallions or maybe The Blues etc... Whatever they are called now.
I think I would worry about your own college commits because I do not see any?
"We all know that PDA ECNL has over 8 players with college commitments"
Total BS, 2015 National Players are just starting to commit and the 2016's are the weakest age group of the PDA ECNL teams.
https://sites.google.com/site/soccerrecruits/
some people are so gullible...and some people need to type something to prove it.
big wkd. NJ the place to be.
For who For what?
NJ is rarely the place to be.
Florida, Hawaii, the Caribbean, all yes; NJ, not so much.
Of course NJ is the place to be....
BOYZ 2 MEN is playing at the State Theatre tomorrow!!
I love that song End of the Road!
This forum has become boring. Aren't team playing? If so can someone please start the my team is better then yours or something of the sort. This will living up the blah room.
My team is better than yours.
Is there any good matchups coming up? I see the Stallions did well in Texas. Nice Job!
How is PDA doing?
How are the Coyotes doing?
Anyone else matter in this Region?
Congrats to the Stallions. I for one am very impressed with the how the the Stallions not only stayed together, but have remained a contender in R1 and Nationally after what they went through last year.
Keep up the good work
End of March TOP 10 - Region 1 Teams.
***This is subject to change on a monthly bases***
1. NJ Stallions
2. PDA
3. Montogmery Coyotes
4. Stars of Mass
5. Oakwood
6. NJSA Fusion
7. East Meadow
8. Penn Fusion
9. PWSI
10. Supernova
Thoughts?
Free State needs to be in the top 10.
So does FC Virgina
Both have been playing very well and would deserve to be in top 10.
Horrible TOP 10!!!!
Fusion beat Oakwood twice within 5 months
FC Bucks would have to be in the top 10. Beating PDA in ECNL and winning a fairly competitive MAPS Spring showcase as well. I would say they are 4-5 in region at the moment. I would say njsa fusion should be in their at the low end.
one game doesn't earn the right to be in the top five. Really? what history did they prove to deserve top five? Win something and get back to us FC Bucks.
Fusion beat Oakwood twice?
Nice.
But who did Fusion then lose to? And hwo did Oakwood beat?
Likely they are listed correctly
Bucks not only beat PDA, but dominated the game. Could have been worst. Not saying Bucks are a top 5,
PDA barely breaks the top 10.
Region 1 is great. We have 4 or 5 teams that are very respected Nationally. Keep up the good work and make us proud.
Any GOOD news this weekend? Since we are trying to stay positive. What good happened?
PWSI in Region 1 CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES
in Kirkwood May 11th.
what happened to supernova in region 1?
anyone know the draw for the new jersey championship series state cup draw?

Thanks but I am looking for the other State Championship that leads to Regionals and Nationals.

Here is your link
Where is NJSA?
https://events.gotsport.com/(S(1uxzib55mqvigxn2bm4fwi55))/events/resultsgrid.aspx?EventID=30710&GroupID=282646
The winner of 2nd round princeton vs pda will be in the finals.
The winner of watchung vs nj stallions will be in the finals.
NJSA is in the NPL.
Why do assume that Watchung will get past NJ Dynamo in the second round like its a foregone conclusion?
How about a really bold prediction: Stallions vs PDA/Princeton winner in final; Stallions win regardless of who the opponent is.
My guess is that the Stallions are absolutely focused on winning the Regional title they believe they should have won last year (and they were probably right).
No question that Stallions are the favorite. They arguably could have been favored anyway, but with PDA and NJSA not playing due to league commitments, you would have to think it's Stallions' cup to lose.
But, as we've seen with March Madness, anything can happen. "That's why we play the games," as they say.
What about Winslow? They won't be an easy out. They have been playing up and doing well.
They might not win but won't be a push over as they are a well coached team.
There is still alot of talented teams in NJ even without PDA in the cup.
Favorites are
NJ Stallions
PDA Spurs
Watchung
Princenton
Winslow
Any predictions of PDA/Princeton
PDA plays a more enjoyable controlled passing style.
Princeton is more physically and direct.
Not sure which princeton team you will get. Sometimes they look like they can beat anyone but then they throw in a clonker.
My guess is 2-1 PDA.
Princeton playing well. Should be consider in top 10 of Region along with the other surprise team from VA, PWSI. Times are changing.
Here are a few more that can be mentioned maybe 10-20
Penn Fusion
FC Bucks Non ECNL team (OLD PSC COPPA)
Penn Legacy
NJSA Fusion
NEFC
Mass Premier
Princeton has already beaten Penn Legacy at Jeff Cup
Top 3 is easy. Then two groups, Group 1 4-10 and Group 2 11-20 or 25 the same.
Group 1 is capable of playing with and occasionally upseting one of the TOP 3.
Spurs and Princeton in Group 2, and doesn't really matter who wins. Spurs will have a few other players rostered on their state Cup roster. No surprises there. Some players trying to get playing time and not travel/and pay traveling costs to sit bench.
3:37pm your comment doenst make much sense.
Top 3 easy? What makes the Top 3 the Top 3? Who are those teams?
Then you say Group 1 is capable of beating the top 3 and does sometimes? So if that is the case what makes the top 3 the top 3? Your statement would mean that the top 3 only lose to each other and no one else.
Who makes up your 4-10 and what is their record over the last 12 months against the top 3?
please provide more details
thanks in advance.
In no particular order here:
FC Bucks
Stars of Mass
NJSA Fusion
PDA South
PWSI
Penn Fusion
Super Nova
Freestate
FC Virginia
Alley Cats
Empire
Princeton(not sure haven't seen them play yet this spring they will either step up or fall off I guess)
I am sure I left some body off by mistake sorry.
Thanks
Good list
I agree with putting a grouping of trams below a certain level, rather than try to figure who is seventh, who is ninth, etc.....
"It is very nice to have such great competition right here in R1."
And in an ideal world, these teams wouldn't be separated by the various leagues (R1 Premier, ECNL, etc). It would make everybody better, faster.
3:34 Agree
Count me in as well.
But given the apparently restrictive aspects of ECNL, how do we hope to bring that about? Or has that ship already sailed?
Whoever said Supernova has been riding their state championship you could be right.
PAE state champ just got knocked out in the first round.

Anyones cup now to lose. I think its Penn Legacy going to be sitting on top in PA.
Nova had too many injuries to overcome. No starting keeper or 00.
Those are their whole team.
Are they injured? I thought they picked up a new handful of girls.
That might explain their lackluster showing in Premier League as well.
yea but if your whole team is based off of double 00 then they have a problem.
Agreed. Which is why some folks haven't been sold on them all along.
they always been a pack it in style with over the top hit you with 00 and win a 1-0 type of game.
fc bucks 97 red vs penn legacy in the finals.
