This girls age bracket garners regional and national attention--Super Y, academy, club and town teams--they call this age group the "Super Gs" in several states.
I really didn't put much thought into all of these clubs jumping from one Soccer government to another. However looking at what the poster stated last night and how the NJ Stallions are just running through state cups winning by 5+ goals a games makes a good point.
I just looked up penn legacy and they won 3 of their 4 games in pae state cup 5-0/4-1 and 5-0 in the finals.
I just looked up Montgomery 7-0/4-0 and 2-0
This tells me 2 things - one that these cups dont have the same feel because alot of the talented clubs/teams/players have moved away from this. two that there are still some great teams out there but seem to be alone and I hope they find a great league to be in if not already. I hope this isn't happening in other states but I have a feeling it is.
SAD that we let these governing bodies take control of you, me and our kids. They are dictating the new flavor of the day and we fall into it like teenagers trying to fit in. Its really making youth soccer less fun in my eyes.
That's now 5-0 spankings on back to back weekends for Princeton, who have lost three straight by a combined 12-0 margin. I think we can put to rest any discussion if them as a top five or top ten team in Region 1..
Princeton is still a couple of players away, but I like how you disregard the game they won yesterday. Had to beat two of the PDA teams to get to the finals.
To be fair to Princeton. Last week vs Penn Legacy, they had to play a good NJSA fusion in a game in Mercer county and then drive straight down to Delaware and roll straight on to the field to play a fresh and ready Penn Legacy team. While we was very much under strength and tired. Yes it is an excuse, but one that should be taken in to much consideration when considering the size of the score. Maybe Penn Legacy would still have won the game, but I am positive it would not have been so convincing.
As for the Stallions, they are just on a complete different platform to any other team we have ever played. The score was 5-0 and they was fully deserving of that. Princeton gave everything they had, but just couldn't compete at that level. They stayed at 1-0 for about 50 minutes but then couldn't hold on and Stallions killed the game off. unbelievable passing but very hard working team as well.
BTW it is worth noting the Stallions coach said in the speech, it is the best game his girls played all year long, so that gives some comfort.
I think what people are trying to say is there are some great teams in this region and your team played well but be humble because your finally playing the power teams in the region. This is your first year together so your going to take your lumps. Get better, Play harder and work on that next level. I recommend you continue to play even if its a scrimmage somehow the likes of stallions/coyotes/pda arsenal/fc bucks/stars - these teams will test you and win most times but will only make your team play that much better. What these teams have right now is some of the best defenses in the region. Put that together with controlling the game and some great finishers its hard to compete.
Our team has played most of those teams this year and haven't won yet but I can see we are getting better and it pays offs against the other teams we play.
Stallions coach generally says something like that about the second place team whenever they win a tournament. Funny, when he's on the other side he's not nearly so magnanimous. The Stallions are one if the power teams, not only in the region, but nationally. You don't really appreciate what that level is like until you have to deal with it. Like a previous poster said, they only way to get to tha level is to seek out those teams, take your lumps, and grow from the experience.
Stallions and MSC Coyotes by far the best two teams in the country. pda gets another no win today with a tie and should out of top ten by now.
Regionals are set, with schedule coming out Wednesday. Coyotes will be seeded Number 1 as last years Regional Champions and also defending National Champions, Winning National League Div. and Region 1 Premier League Champion.Hopefully Stallions seeded number 2 so that these two great teams will meet in Finals of Region 1 Regional Tournament. MSC Coyotes have already qualified for Nationals in Kansas with National League Championship, and Stallions will just get by The Coyotes to meet up again in Nationals.
Watched the Coyotes play today and they didn't look great. I also noticed that they have 3-4 players injured at the moment. It might be a rough summer for them.
Who are they picking up from Freestate? I'm sure the Freestate girls would like to know which of them are joining the Coyotes, because I'm sure it will be news to them.
This year alone pda has 6 wins 2 loses and 5 ties. Now it is less then a 50 % win ratio. pda wins less then HALF their games. yeah, I guess that is pretty good for pda. Not for Stallions. Stallions win win win win.
Not hard to be a top team in ecnl, with half the teams having a negative goal differential(-GD). Wow, teams that have -15, -18,and -22 GD get to play again next year. Where's the e in elite or does "e" stand for everyone now.

Matchfit gets ECNL but not many players on that Riptide team that would make a top 10 in the region roster. Who will makeup that team?
Will old NJSA Blast players come back to the Howell area now that ECNL is in their back yard?
Rumors have it that Holmdel NJX & Matchfit Spurs may collapse.
Princeton, while starting out promising, showed in the end they are not yet ready for prime time. Will they attract players and get better or will they lose their better players to more established and more successful teams who can showcase their talent on a bigger stage?
PDA Spurs lost their "best player" to Penn Fusion, but may have played better without her down the stretch. Addition by subtraction? Will more players follow her out the door or will they benefit from the Princeton slide?
How about Watchung, Jersey United, SDFC, SJ Elite? I could see Watchung benefiting from some of the movement. JU, SDFC and SJ Elite seem to have declined or stagnated in the last year and won't likely benefit from any movement.
Stallions, PDA Arsenal and NJSA Fusion seem to be the best draws and may benefit from some of the movement.
Why are the Coyotes playing in the Columbia Invitational? No one is there. Giving 2nd tier teams a chance at National Champions makes no sense. Should have come to NJ.
Maybe the previous poster who suggested the Coyotes have a bunch of key injuries was correct. A smart Coach would scale back the the level of competition to match his current roster.
With the travel we have already done this spring and with two other tournaments we have to travel to this summer, it was a matter of dollars and cents. We actually have dropped out of the Columbia tournament as we have been struggling with illness and injuries over the last month. Best of luck to all of the teams playing this weekend.
How can Stallions be the best team in NJ BY FAR when in this season, having played PDA twice, could not beat PDA? PDA would have had the same results against the teams Stallions have played. They know that PDA has always been the team that gives them the best competition.
To 11:13PM, you hit the nail on the head with "has always been." Past tense, just like PDA's claims to the #1 spot. Stallions are indisputably #1 in NJ. PDA Arsenal is dropping in the power rankings to the point where #2 might be in question.
Past tense??? Didn't these two teams recently play to a draw just a few weeks ago. Also, back in early spring I believe PDA beat the Stallions in a scrimmage. I'm not sure you can say the Stallions are indisputably #1 just yet. Let's see them beat PDA a couple of times before you crown them.
NJ Stallions ( U-16g Fall )will be holding try outs for their sister team on 5/29 at FDU in Teaneck 8:00 - 9:30 and 5/30 at PCT from 8:15 - 9:45. The NJ Dynamo Red Devils will be bringing their team to the Stallions to help create this new team
My main question or concern with this team and the current nj stallions team is stability. What league will both of these teams be playing in? I think the stallions were hurt not playing in the top league this year. They are one of the best teams and should have of been in that league. Just because they have another sister team like the last few clubs what is going to sell any kid on trying out for this new team?
The Dynamite were in National League, back when they were still with NJ Crush FC. One of the unfortunate by-products of the turmoil surrounding their departure from Crush and move to Stallions was their withdrawal from NL. IMO, both the team and the league would have been better off with them in it. I think the odds they would have edged Tampa Bay for an automatic qualification for USYS Nationals are pretty good.
The Stallions will play both National League (R1PL as well) and EDP-NPL next year as a core member club. Essentially they will have the best of both worlds.
I find it laughable that you feel the Dynamite were "hurt" by not being in a league...really, how so?
This team has gotten more exposure and interest from colleges than probably any other freshman team with the schedule they have followed. Their achievements at U15 alone, are second to none as well.
Ask massapequa, pda, east meadow, oakwood what real benefit the NPL or ECNL has done for their players in comparison to the schedule that the Stallions have undertaken this year. Then ask why on earth does none of the Stallions players ever leave the team and why do they pick up better players than anybody else each year...
Simply because it is by far the best program out there for the player.
so 1 team is a program now? 1 team that leaps more then a frog? 1 team that comes on here and tells everyone how they have had the same 15 kids forever (but you just stated you get the best of the best each year)?
if the path you took this u15 season is the almighty path, then why change it up and enter the other leagues? Your not getting into the NPL that list came out already and you better hope you win regionals for nationals might now be on your horizon. You can go play in a horribly watered down REGION League which will even be worse come next year with so many of the other top clubs making the jump to the NPL under US CLUB SOCCER!!!!!! BOL Dynamite parent your still only 3rd in the region losing to the coyotes and pda. Come back when you actually beat either team in a real game. Its been a few years!!!! come on with your crap.
HAS is not past tense. HAD is past tense. Mary HAS a little lamb vs. Mary HAD a little lamb (past tense). PDA HAS beaten the Stallions this season and HAS tied them this season and PDA HAS not lost to them.
Stallions would rather play in a watered down state cup and win every game 5-0 so they can call themselves "The Best" When they scrimmage PDA they treat it as the World Cup because they need to prove they are better while PDA plays it as a scrimmage because they have nothing to prove to anyone.
Just for the record, Dynamite does not necessarily have to "get past" MSC to get into National League for next year. Setting aside the fact that there is no guarantee MSC even gets back to the finals(since we don't yet know the draw), play along with me for a moment.
Let's pretend that this year's R1 final is the same as last year. At that point, Dynamite will have already qualified for Nationals, regardless of the outcome. Conitinuing to pretend that the end result is also the same, there would now be AT LEAST three open slots into NL to be filled via application. Don't you think a regional finalist with their record of achievement (even before what they might do at Nationals) would be at or very near the absolute top of the applicant list.
Of course, they have it in their hands to win the R1 cup, whether against MSC or anyone else, and clinch their spot.
All this is to say that, yes, they are not yet guaranteed to play in NL next year. But you'd have to admit their chances are pretty darn good, whether they "get past the coyotes [sic]" or not.
not if your in the same bracket and cant get out OR if you match up in the semi and cant get past them.
Pretty good chance? I would say NO.
I came to that conclusion because you havent proved in years you can beat either Coyotes or PDA the last 2 year REGIONAL winners when it wasn't as watered down. Wait to you see some of the other state champs - its not remotley close to what it was in years.
You better play the lottery and avoid the coyotes!!
If selecting from an application pool, there is a grand total of zero more deserving teams across regions 1,2, and 3 combined. Stallions' only competition for an open spot (and why are so many people assuming they won't win it outright?) would come from region 4, Cal South in particular.
haha...some very bitter parents out there. Chill out. The program with the "Dynamite" has never changed, whether or not their uniform has. It is without question the best training and coaching out there. If you want to argue that point then go ahead be my guest, I guarantee you will have ZERO followers.
PDA has outright beaten the Dynamite in ZERO "competitive" games dating all the way to u11. Now you win 1 scrimmage out of a total of about 15-20 total games, back in November by a whopping 2-1 score line, straight out of HS and you non-stop pound your chest?? PDA was lucky Dynamite missed a pk in the last scrimmage, but seriously, who cares. If you want to say you are better than the Dynamite, then go ahead, you do that, whatever makes you feel better.
But ask yourself...Is the training better though? Is the opportunity/exposure your players getting better? Is the style better? Is the "togetherness" and team spirit and enjoyment for the player better? I think we all know the answer to those questions unequivocally!
It seems the only way in which Dynamite are 3rd in the region is when it comes to taking pk's...haha, maybe even lower. (Regional final lost on pk's)
3:20 I happen to agree with your points. You are inaccurate in only one instance. PDA won the Jefferson Cup last year on PK's- which to my recollection is really the only competitive game the two teams have played for years, if at all. Back before the mighty ECNL years began, the powers that be at PDA were gaming the system so they could build their rep. How many times did NJSA and Dynamite play each other in group play while PDA was on the other side with a clearer path to the finals. No one can make a judgement one way or the other on who the better team is because they just haven't played each other. I highly doubt there are any PDA or Dynamite parents involved in this discussion just trolls watching from the outside. My how the trolls make each other's blood boil. Very funny.
pda is third in their conference. Might not even qualify for Colorado.
They have more to play for this weekend than anyone. One lost and the bottom falls out this weekend. Good Luck. Stallions will be in Nationals after R1, because rumor down South is that since the Coyotes have already qualified they may not come to R1 or bring a limping/coughing 13 players. My daughter knows a Coyote very well from National Pool and they are having college coaches at practices? Stallions are having a camp at Princeton. College coaches will be in Colorado but pda might not be there. And if they do will take a roster of 22 players. Playing time????
This is good stuff: "Stallions will be in Nationals after R1, because rumor down South is that since the Coyotes have already qualified they may not come to R1 or bring a limping/coughing 13 players. My daughter knows a Coyote very well from National Pool and they are having college coaches at practices? Stallions are having a camp at Princeton."
1. MSC cared enough to show up at Premier League playoffs and state cup final, both of which qualified them for regionals, and you suggest they might not bother to attend? Really? 2. Since there are no Coyotes in National pool, I have no idea how your daughter could know one from there. I'm guessing your daughter isn't in the National pool, either. 3. "Stallions are having a camp at Princeton." And what does this have to do with your previous points? What is this, stream of consciousness day? 4. As for PDA, it looks like earning even a single point this weekend keeps them in the top 32 for Colorado.
The evidence is fairly compelling that you know nothing significant about PDA, Stallions, or MSC.
The prior poster said "outright" won meaning won without pk's. And later goes on to say Stallions are way behind in pk taking.
Head to head with PDA - Stallions to my knowledge:
May 2013 1-1 Scrimmage Nov 2012 2-1 PDA win June 2012 1-1 Scrimmage Mar 2012 0-0 PDA win pk's @ Jefferson Jan 2012 2-1 Stallions win (scrimmage) Oct 2011 2-2 scrimmage Aug 2011 2-2 PDA win pk's @ Eclipse Aug 2011 2-1 Stallions win @ FC Bucks invitational May 2011 1-0 Stallions win (JAGS)
Stallions have 3 outright wins PDA 1 outright win PDA have 2 pk shootout wins 3 ties (5 overall)
That is all I can find and what I know. How sad! Either way, very close games. Never more than 1 goal in them. Nothing more to be said. Both excellent teams on the same level - top 3 in region.
PDA is nowhere near top 3 in the region right now. You can't consider the record and performance since U11. Teams change and power rankings change every year. Just because a team has been considered a certain rank in the past doesn't mean they hold the same ranking position today. PDA is the 3rd best ECNL team in the Region right now. That is a fact. Now, add in the non-ECNL teams and PDA is maybe 6th or 7th in Region 1. I'm not so sure that PDA would even be considered #2 in NJ right now.
How can they not be? They lost 2games all year last year. Once to stars and one in semis of national event. This year they lost 2games to one team. When was the last time any non Ecnl team in this region beat pda? when was the last time any nj team beat pda period? Look until pda loses games or someone knocks then off you dont take them out of a top spot. They proved and beat the national champ 2zip. Ties aren't losses people. Everyone has them. Nj stallions lost 2zip to some team that's like 15th in ny named alley something. It happens. If you want to be ahead of them dont lose or tie them. Beat them. To be the best you have to beat the best. Side note pda in 3rd. Keep in mind stars didn't play Penn fusion bucks or pda twice in conferense but did play soccer plus. It would have been different if they didn't split the conference into 2 separate divisions.
7:30 "Ties aren't losses people?" So to take an extreme example, you're saying a team with 1 win, 0 losses, 6 ties (1-0-6) is better than a team with that's 4-3-0, 5-2-0, 6-1-0? What is the objective? Not to lose or to score the most points? To me, it's just a ridiculous argument...and one most wouldn't even attempt to make.
pda last 12 games-all this year. 5 wins 2 loses 5 ties. pda is the tie team. win ratio is less then 50%. Which means they will probably lose or tie. When pda learns to win, we can talk about them agian. Only third in the ecnl conference. Third. Might qualify this wkd for 30th ,31st or 32 nd spot in playoffs. pda is BOTTOM SEED in ecnl tournament.
Go back to school you fool. Pda is 10wins 2ls and 5ties in the Ecnl. Add in their 4wins from newws and 3 at pwsi that makes them 17w 2ls 5ties. Your record is what? That a top teamcin this region. Come back to me when your team beats us.
Agree -- the facts don't support the bluster. Stop talking and just play the games, make a run in Colorado, continue on to Richmond, have success there, etc. I'm sure that's what the players are focused on, and trying to ignore their parents to the extent possible. And if it doesn't happen, work your rear off to get back on track. In the meantime, give the other teams their credit due.

add in next 5
Oakwood/NJSA/Free State/FC Virginia/Penn Legacy

It's a random draw for regionals, so anything is possible.
Coyotes have only 13 healthy players. Two are goalies. 4 injured that may be back later, and 2 others out until FALL.
Might pick-up some players from FreeState.
Wow. Which two are out until fall? Which others may be back later?

They should of been in the national league
http://tournaments.usyouthsoccer.org/events/2012-2013-National-League/
or at least REGION 1
The Dynamite were in National League, back when they were still with NJ Crush FC. One of the unfortunate by-products of the turmoil surrounding their departure from Crush and move to Stallions was their withdrawal from NL.
IMO, both the team and the league would have been better off with them in it.
I think the odds they would have edged Tampa Bay for an automatic qualification for USYS Nationals are pretty good.
Thank you. that was my point.
So again what does trying out for either team offer at this point?
Do they have any idea where they are playing next year? Is the hopes that the stallions get past coyotes and whoever else to get to nationals?
You better play the lottery and avoid the coyotes!!
so no NPL and hopes they dont draw the coyotes to make it to the finals to play in the NL.
sounds like a plan.
where do I sign my kid up for tryouts?
stop blowing smoke - You better be in some league that has NL in it.
ECNL or NL or NPL!
Quick, make a list of teams who
a) will apply to National League for next year, and
b) would definitely be selected ahead of Stallions
Even if nothing changes between now and then, there are 2 open spots in NL. Depending on the Regional cup results, there could be as many as six.
I am not affiliated with Stallions in any way, shape, or form, but I like their chances.
Very funny.
3:54 Thanks. I was wondering what had happened to all the love between PDA and Stallions from earlier posts.
pda is third in their conference.
This is good stuff:
"Stallions will be in Nationals after R1, because rumor down South is that since the Coyotes have already qualified they may not come to R1 or bring a limping/coughing 13 players. My daughter knows a Coyote very well from National Pool and they are having college coaches at practices?
5:54pm - Nice job. Call that troll out!
PDA is making the playoffs. They would have to lose almost every game this weekend at home.
Not going to happen.
They will shut down the almighty free state offense.
The prior poster said "outright" won meaning won without pk's. And later goes on to say Stallions are way behind in pk taking.
Head to head with PDA - Stallions to my knowledge:
May 2013 1-1 Scrimmage
Nov 2012 2-1 PDA win
June 2012 1-1 Scrimmage
Mar 2012 0-0 PDA win pk's @ Jefferson
Jan 2012 2-1 Stallions win (scrimmage)
Oct 2011 2-2 scrimmage
Aug 2011 2-2 PDA win pk's @ Eclipse
Aug 2011 2-1 Stallions win @ FC Bucks invitational
May 2011 1-0 Stallions win (JAGS)
Stallions have 3 outright wins
PDA 1 outright win
PDA have 2 pk shootout wins
3 ties (5 overall)
That is all I can find and what I know. How sad! Either way, very close games. Never more than 1 goal in them. Nothing more to be said. Both excellent teams on the same level - top 3 in region.
At this point I would say the following because of the league wins.
1. MSC Coyotes
2. FC Bucks
3. PDA
4. NJ Stallions
I would love to see a scrimmage between the coyotes vs fc bucks
stallions vs fc bucks
I would bet they would be 0-0 or 1-1 ties.
tell these coaches to talk and set this up.
maybe a summer invitational like they did at PWSI a few months ago?
It would have been different if they didn't split the conference into 2 separate divisions.
all eyes on pda this weekend. Will they or won't they?
Top teams are not trying to survive to get to playoffs. How sad trying to get a spot in the top 32 and coming down to the last weekend.
But Stallions are willing to loan you a few players to secure your last spot in playoffs for ecnl.
Fact is, PDA is dropping like a rock in the rankings and their parents don't want to come to grips.
