seems U14 MF ECNL is much approved

Anonymous said...

Fc stars New York teams very good. Mass teams shine. Nj soccer down hill. Too many places to play. Good players are spread apart all over and they move often with grass is greener attitude. PDA did nothing st trfc tourney u13. Town teams win!!! So much for that PDA shore thing.

Anonymous said...

Seems as if everyone's grand plan is backfiring at the start of U14. The relevancy clock is ticking.
How come non-ecnl teams in NY and Mass seem to be thriving, but in NJ they seem to be losing ground quickly to WC and Match Fit?

Anonymous said...

It is called KARMA... Maybe the sins of the parents.

Does anyone know why TRFC does not have a u14 team?
I looked and to my surprise I couldn't find one.

Anonymous said...

typo should be: girls u14

Anonymous said...

Tough what you are going through - but didnt you know this was a weak team when you tried out?

Anonymous said...

Which MFA coach are you warning about? After all, there are many teams in each age bracket.

Anonymous said...

There should be a governing body to oversee club coaches and their actions and treatment of players.....there should be a player's bill of rights/acceptable treatment and when a club coach doesn't adhere to the parameters of the prescribed behavior then consequences should ensue.

Anonymous said...

That type of coach is an abusive coach. As parents it is our responsibility to remove our children from those situations immediately. There are many places to play with coaches that are positive and care about the athletes not just the wins.

Anonymous said...

Doc at match fit is one of the coach as well and he is always late at practice. Practice is mediocre and poor. Teams are not good and there is no teaching of the game. But it is ECNL and that what parents are looking at instead of focusing on getting their daughter to be a better player. The parent that complained before is the same that signed her up just for the status not for quality.

Anonymous said...

Not easy being 25-30 on an 18 player roster.

Anonymous said...

Again a parent' s choice no? Match fit do not
Care . Some will leave some more will come. They count on ignorance of player's parents . Parents need a fix for their ego and open their wallets. Than they wake up and discover that their daughter is a mediocre player

Anonymous said...

Post was deleted. It was much too penetrating and to the heart of what is wrong with this u14 team.

Parents choice though- I agree.

Find aplace that is competitive and have your daughter play all the time.

There are bad coaching at Matchfit, STA, & Crush.
even PDA has there bad coaches.

Successful older MF teams came over as a team. We're not developed by DB. He will continue to be late and treat girls negatively which is why we r looking for next option. He dropped a girl to NPL when was told she was in top 10 of ECNL and will play significantly. No trust with him.

Anonymous said...

What has happened to Brick? Thought that they would improve with a group of players from NJ Force joining the team for this season. Looks like the kick and run ball is working? It will not take long for the group to get unhappy and look to leave. Only success against a NJ Crush team that has lost most of its better players. Don't you wish you had the players that you lost back now?

Anonymous said...

I guess mf only took 18 to the stars tourney from the comments, pls confirm this as many will be looking to make the move next year at u15 and the facts should be reported so people can make factual decisions.

What's the roster size for ecnl teams

Anonymous said...

Many teams will have to adjust to playing with new players. MF just formed & at least score wise was competitive. STA struggled but they have lost players & have a new coach so we'll have to see what happens. NJ Crush also has a new coach & lost players. NJ Stallions picked up a lot of Americans players so they will need to time to gel as will Brick. Let's judge these teams after the Fall season to see where they are. MF & Brick appeared to be in every game.

Anonymous said...

ECNL teams can go up to 30 players.

Anonymous said...

mf and brick appeared to be in every game? yes they showed up and played...bad

Anonymous said...

Were you there? If you weren't hard to tell by scores decided by a goal that teams played well or not. Someone that has an agenda apparently as I'm sure they're team wasn't there. Playing the top flights & tying & losing by a goal to the flight winners doesn't sound so bad since they beat other teams worse.

Anonymous said...

I like the "lost plyers" statements

If 4-5 players are different, the team ADDED players as well as LOST, eh?

Anonymous said...

MF is a joke.... Maybe they should get more coaches if the coaches are always late...

Anonymous said...

MF is a top notch program. MF Trainers are all very good, very good.

My daughter played on a summer program for one of MF trainers, my daughter improved so much

Anonymous said...

MFA...is not PDA..they take any kid with two arms and legs and a heart beat... Honestly a 30 man roster? A lost in a top bracket by one goal is not bad neither.. So as far as judgement I think its best after the fall season too. It does take time to come together but time is running out. The next three years are critical. Goodluck to all jersey teams.

Anonymous said...

No one proclaimed that MF is PDA....don't you believe in a capitalistisc environment and the strength of competition?....if not then all of our daugthers should just walk away from the sport because their not on PDA and therefore, have no future in the sport.....as far as a big roster....it comes down to one thing: if you daugther is good she will be earn the right to play longer/be a starter and the Coach will have confidence in her abilities. You know there are just so many spots in these team who are competing at very high levels.....it's the start of the season and with new girls they have to learn to play and trust each other on the field.....it doesn't happen overnight....it takes a little while to develop a rythem.

Anonymous said...

What is the purpose of taking 25 players ,could some of you experts, explain that philosophy to me, justify it please.
intra squad full sided scrimmages ,maybe ! Not strength of compettion, 1-12 vs 13-25.. did you say capitalism.
pay to play in ECNL opportunity, vacancies ..apply here

Anonymous said...

What kind of team does your daughter play for.....you seem to have so much to say; but it comes across more like whining than anything substantive....

Anonymous said...

10:56 Why carry 25 players?

To keep the girls on their toes and compete for minutes.

To be prepared for Injuries?

We are talking about girls. Can a lady poster validate this. I would imagine girls will not be at their best when their time of the month comes.

To keep costs down so coaches can have travel paid for.

These are the four I can think of, I have no problem with my kid having to earn her minutes. I'm sure they will get quality training. It's up to her to fight for what she wants or you can take an easier path and have her play for a team that rosters only 16.

Anonymous said...

At least one NJ team won the stars cup. hornets won

Anonymous said...

MF Girls carry many players to pay for the boys academy teams. Boys do not pay, where does that money come from? Girls.

Anonymous said...

Question is why is MF a lot more money then PDA if they aren't even on the same level?

Anonymous said...

9:40 MF has one DA based on the website.

U.S. Soccer Development Academy 2014-2015
Match Fit Academy FC U-13/14

So you think MF has all these extra players to pay for one team?

I think everyone is paying a few extra dollars to support the DA team not just the girls.

What's with the MF hate out of the blue. Who got burned recently?

Anonymous said...

9:51, that is new this year. Up until this year boys program at MF paid but they changed that. They are now adding revenue through the girls program and will be soon adding free boys teams. That isnt MF hate, those are facts. You keep paying for my son now.

Anonymous said...

You're welcome!

Anonymous said...

This may be new for MF, but I think it is typical for any non-MLS clubs that have Boys US Soccer Academies.

Anonymous said...

The MF hate is due to them improving. With the new kids they have added they should be able to compete with the top teams in the area. This is apparent after the results they had at Bucks and Stars. The more success they have the more kids they will attract and other clubs do not want that. Lots of movement at U14 and U15. Right or wrong people want to be on an ECNL team and the local options are limited. I would expect a lot of kids will be training with MF, PDA and WC over the next 6 - 8 months. If one of the kids fits the teams needs they will be added.

Anonymous said...

Don't kid yourself they'll turn over that whole roster if they can improve. Scores don't always tell the whole story. Saw them play & wasn't impressed at all a it was long ball as stated by MF parent & they could not string 2 passes together in both games I saw them plY so far.

Anonymous said...

Turning over players doesn't mean that you are getting better players. Everyone talks about the new "stars" that are coming over. Reality is, there are lots of good players out there that are all pretty similar in terms of overall ability. A lot of girls that are actually fairly interchangeable. But someone has to rank them and choose. Very few stars out there. That isn't a slam. It is just reality.

Cluelessness at it's best. Brick was just fine other than scoring (nothing new). Saw them play the New Hyde park team, and they dominated them but missed some easy "should have been goals" and lost 1-0. And no, I'm quite sure that they don't want any past players back, especially since they went to lesser teams and are not even on the map now.

Anonymous said...

What bitter little trolls we have here. A top team loses two games 1-0 and you assume there are all kinds of problems? LOL! Ridiculous. Five new girls will take time to gel and find where they fit in. It will come together.

Anonymous said...

NJ soccer a joke 1win in 15 games this weekend at fc stars in two top brackets and that win against a NJ team LOL

Anonymous said...

Sad when MF U13 is a better team, moves ball around. Hey Coach bring up those players to play your schedule

Anonymous said...

I think GFA is a better team then Brick is right now. At least from what I watched at Spirit.

I'm sure the Brick coach with respond to this quickly as he watches this site. Probably the only coach left that would give their time, with the exception of the COPA coach that is now gone and the old bridge coach.

Anonymous said...

Have heard NJSA is building a facility in Holmdel and that they will be the next ECNL club. Any truth to this rumor?

Doesn't make sense to have another club so close to MF does it? Shouldn't there be one in South Jersey? Or would they take MF's place? Don't believe the NJSA team is strong at this age. Is it?

Anonymous said...

Trolls trying to start a debate to get the focus off MF perhaps? People aren't that dumb to take the bait but good try.

Anonymous said...

No - I Seriously heard it. thought it wasn't true but someone insisted that it was. I always thought that NJSA was more of a boys club.

Anonymous said...

6pm
Thanks gfa coach

Anonymous said...

8,39 and 6 pm why you want to start trouble? Your comments are just to create a reaction as usual.
No coaches here discussing these kind of stuff.
Brick and GFA played good tough games at the tournaments they were in. NJ soccer is as good as any other state. Games were quality games and could have gone both ways. Stop provoking and enjoy the game

Anonymous said...

NJSA in this age group is just another money grab. MOSA level players playing MOSA level teams and losing.

Anonymous said...

A very hearty LOL to the "GFA is better than Brick right now" comment! Brick already beat them handily the once they played. And now, Brick got much stronger and GFA lost their little superstar. Silly troll! LMAO!

Anonymous said...

Brick won 3:2 - wow, what a decisive victory. Plus, the little super star barely played with the team last season.

Anonymous said...

You obviously weren't at the game. 3-0 at half, and would have gotten real ugly if Brick didn't play bench players and move people around. It was a joke of a game. And yes, "superstar" did play in that game. Move on to your next trolling victim.

Anonymous said...

Yes, NJCSA is building a new facility. And rumor has it that they are seeking to gain access as a member of ECNL, but I'm sure this will take sometime to happen.

What is up with the Brick vs GFA banter. I only read that one person state that based on what they watched GFA is better than Brick right now. Looks like based on one tournament.

If 8:48 statement is true, which it is not, Brick only had a couple of bench player available when they played GFA, so your statement has no credibility.

Brick has an over controlling coach, and a poor style of play. IMHO

Anonymous said...

Tab Ramos is the US National team asst coach.......will take no time to get approved for ECNL

Anonymous said...

Not sure about all the talk either. My opinion GFA won't be around for very long as they already lost players & have yet to have a win over a top team anywhere. Also as I remember Brick was down to only 12-13 players all Spring due to injuries so I'm sure they were forced to move players around as options were limited just like when they played our team. Coach is well respected & in my opinion they play very hard & move the ball well for a not very talented team which isn't a knock on the players just take f wise compared to the other top teams they have less athletes but still do very well so they must be doing something right. I don't see the need to put down teams. I think there us nothing wrong with saying I like this style over this teams style but you don't have to out a team down to build up another. I still wouldn't consider GFA a top 5 team but they do have some decent athletes so we'll see how the season & year play out. If they make major strides I'll be the 1st to say I was wrong.

Anonymous said...

NJSA is no more. Tab sold it toncedarvstars academy so he will have no influence on ECNL. Cedar stars looking to build a facility more towards the cedar stars base of operations not in Holmdel. This will take 18-24 months so don't hold your breath.

Anonymous said...

A lot of talk about teams after 1 or 2 tournaments? The educated person knows MF team will take time to see what they are & get an identity so why judge them now? FC Copa lost their coach for whatever reason & are coming off a good season but how will they fair now in the top flights? GFA lost a player that they believed to be a star so how will they move forward minus her & playing in higher flights when they didn't have success at the lower flights? Will Brick continue to stay in the top group adding the new players or will the chemistry be off? SJEB loses a prominent player so they also need to redefine themselves will they stay in the top 2? PDA will most likely keep moving along but what will happen to the other PDA teams will they? STA also lost players & has a new coach what will that mean for them, will they stay at the top? Let's let the seasons play out & root for all of them except when they play your team.

Anonymous said...

Teams that lose players also add players

The added players are so often overlooked.

Most teams aren't on a blog blabbing about personnel, which is why you are sometimes surprised when you get a lesser result in a match vs a team you thought to be inferior.

Anonymous said...

Wrong you are. Cedar Stars and NJSA merged. Cedar Stars has the money, NJSA has Tab. Together they will do just fine.

Anonymous said...

They better start because they hav been irrelevant for quit a while now.

Anonymous said...

"Tab Ramos is the US National team asst coach.......will take no time to get approved for ECNL"

he couldn't get it done when they where just njsa, that why the best girls (older girls) team left

Anonymous said...

Tab didnt care. New business will, and just use his name and signature.
Move over MF.

Anonymous said...

Ecnl teams like PDA, Worldclass often don't lose

players. They are often asked to leave because other talent comes into program.

Teams like Crush, StA, and other medium level clubs will lose their better players year after year, unless the parents see that the coach and organization have complete and total commitment to these teams and the organization doesn't screw it up. At this age when you lose one of your better players, it is very hard to find the quality to replace such a player. Most quality players have options, and those players are looking for superior clubs that hold unto to talent and attract the best players.

So when a club like STA or Crush replace players that have left, most of the time that team will in-fact start to fall because their player pool is limited.

Anonymous said...

Nj soccer is limited, all teams kick and run,top 5 can't win outside of nj, this includes your so called ecnl teams

Anonymous said...

But PDA beat every team at Chicago eclipse cup and won every game in region in pre ecnl last year.

Anonymous said...

9:51 and 10:07, you are a typical example of talking without knowing anything about a team or a club. you do not have a clue and still you make strong statements. Ignorance is a big factor in this blog

Anonymous said...

Not sure if I agree 100%. STA looks like they were able to compete in Mass so it's possible the new players are just as good or better than those that left. Not every kid or parent is looking for ECNL only clubs. A lot has to do with cost and distance as well as relationships with team mates. My guess is over the next few years you will see a very level playing field in youth soccer.

Anonymous said...

compete with who? They did not win a game in Mass....get real

Anonymous said...

Soccer should use judges like boxing and figure skating. Wins would be based on a combination of the actual goals scored, plus a style component.

That might help satisfy all the people who feel their teams "totally dominated but gave up a late goal on a bad call by the ref." Seems to be a common problem.

They could still get the win on style points.

Anonymous said...

4:14.

If you seek the truth, just look to older StA teams. they cannot compete with the ecnl teams like gunners or Orielly's or arsenal.

The games would be 5-0 .You are dreaming about an even playing field.

Anonymous said...

is pda playing in state cup?

Anonymous said...

That's funny.

Anonymous said...

Hornets and Madrid, not Splash

Anonymous said...

then agreed

Anonymous said...

PDA lost to MF last Fall

Anonymous said...

And Argentina beat Germany today

Anonymous said...

thats right splash is so good why ?njx tric and sta thats why!!!
joke...

Anonymous said...

Putting down PDA Splash is just ridiculous. They are multiple times State Cup champs, Region Champs & dominated their pre-ECNL schedule. You look foolish & jealous by putting them down or any other team for that matter that has success. Worry about your team & it's issues.

Anonymous said...

Can't blame PDA for who they played. They beat who was in front of them & don't go by the scores as it shows you don't know soccer if you don't think a game can be totally controlled but only win 1-0.

Anonymous said...

Can't wait for the MF game.

Anonymous said...

5-0. Then PDA will call off the dogs.

Anonymous said...

That is pretty much what happened in the Spring, although it sounds like MF is a completely different roster. So who knows what will happen.

Anonymous said...

LOL. 5 goals when have you ever scored 5 goals?Oh that's right the great ecnl teams... Not the 2nd tier nj teams

Anonymous said...

"don't go by the scores as it shows you don't know soccer"

I agree - but when you are in another state and you are trying to compare 3 teams

4-0 is a better result than 2-1.

Both wins but on paper the 4-0 looks better, even though they could have been 4 own goals and the 2-1 game the team with the L could have held on to the ball for 65% of the game.

Soccer is a very simple game score more than the other team and 4 Goal Differential will trump a 1 goal Differential any day of the week.

If we are talking the best teams that can only be measured one way.

Anonymous said...

Just cause you do it, don't make it right.

You big dummy!

In math, if A>B, and B>C, then A>C.

It don't work like that in soccer.

This blog has proven over and over that grammar and spelling are lost arts that are now irrelevant in today's society.

Anonymous said...

I agree 5:13. LOL

but this is a soccer board and who cares about that stuff? If you are able to follow along follow along if not maybe they will come up with a board for only posters who have those skills to follow along.

I haven't posted in a few days, but I do have fat fingers and english is not my first language so i am very guilty of there/their or to/too.

I may not have your grammar but I know my soccer.

Anonymous said...

But 6:45, you don't want to sound like an idiot either. I hope your children can spell correctly, or that would be detrimental to their future. If you don't think it's important then they won't. We should learn to speak and write properly. Even soccer players need too also. The main reason our children aren't good at writing and reading is also the parents fault. They need these skills for college and beyond to hopefully enhance their soccer future . Maybe English should be your first language, after all you are in America where English is the first language.

Anonymous said...

"If you don't think it's important then they won't. We should learn to speak and write properly. Even soccer players need too also. The main reason our children aren't good at writing and reading is also the parents fault. "

This is a bit of "the pot calling the kettle black"

Do you see anything wrong with this paragraph?

Anonymous said...

Oh, you saw that? Good for you !!! At least someone is listening ! LOL

Anonymous said...

English may be the the first language today, but you might want to brush up and your espanol or even your Mandarin Chinese for the future...

Anonymous said...

jumping in here...I admittedly come on this blog quite frequently for the humor of it all, its all someone's opinion and if you dont agree you can certainly reply to that fact. Whose team is better, my league vs your league, PDA or ECNL envy, GS ranking...what ever the case, I'm not sure anyone should take this too seriously. The few things I can't stand are the personal attacks, wether it be to a coach but especially against a player and the grammar or spelling police. Do you get the jist of the post, if you do what does it matter? I'm sure I could post a proofreaders blog where you could complain about the state of today's grammar. One of the things about this and youth soccer in general is there passionate people out there, so if there is a typo of a missing comma, just let it go, correcting it just shows you are petty, have no reply and are putting someone down just to feel superior.

Anonymous said...

I really miss Slick!!!!

Anonymous said...

proofreader's I think you meant to say

Anonymous said...

12:05

I don't think most people care about punctuation, spelling, etc.

The problem I have is when someone makes a slanderous attack on an individual or group, and butchers the language in the process.

That happens all the time on this blog, and they deserve to be called out for the jerks that they are.

Anonymous said...

Totally agree 12:05. It's just pathetic that people can not write or speak the English language properly. That's all. I believe if the adults are speaking incorrectly then the children will too. I just feel we as adults should be a model for the children, maybe I'm wrong.

Anonymous said...

could not agree more. Who cares about how most adults on here act like awful pathetic excuses for human beings. Our children will not be judged by that. They will be judged by how well they speak and write.

Anonymous said...

Anyone playing in EDP Festival this weekend?

Anonymous said...

" I just feel we as adults should be a model for the children, maybe I'm wrong. "

Do you not read this blog? How many bloggers on here, with all that they spew, would be a model for their children? Nevermind that, how many bloggers on here would even let their child read what your write about other teams/children?

Anonymous said...

re: language

Folks cant help where they are from.....

Heard an unbelievably foul mouth on a very young player last weekend. Was totally appalled. But in some areas this is normal stuff.

Anonymous said...

To all you people out there complaining about writing English correctly go stuff it!! How many of your parents or Grandparents came to the USA from Europe? Do you think they wrote English correctly ?? I think not!! But their Kids and Grand kids do. If someone is attempting to learn they should keep trying and not be ashamed. Let's get back to bashing the beautiful state of NJ soccer teams and our 13 year old Daughters who play here

Anonymous said...

Random question. My daughter made first round ODP. Is it worth the money? Or at this age should she just pass and tryout again when older?

Anonymous said...

We all have our weaknesses, stop judging others. Lets get back to trash "SOCCER" the top"talk.

For those with spelling challenges you/we are part of a pretty good list:

738, congrats to your daughter, my rule (for me) is any time my kids get any recognition (school, sports, work, community) let them enjoy the experience as long as you have the means. I'm sure it was a goal for her to achieve as this is why she tried out. It will be priceless in the end and will be a top highlight in her soccer career.

Get ready put downs from the parents of the kids which never made it.

Anonymous said...

Thanks 8:01

Another EDP score from today NJ Wildcats 6-0 over Watchung Hills Elite. I think the Cats were put in the wrong division as I know their league record was not good in the spring but a very competitive team. You can only play the teams that you are put in within your flight. Good luck to all the team this season.

Anonymous said...

Classless to run up the score like that.....6-0....really? 3-0, or even 4-0 and then stop.

Anonymous said...

So you would say Brick is classless as well winning today 6-1?? Come on people.

Anonymous said...

Any other scores.

Anonymous said...

Yes. 6-1 is a run up too!

Anonymous said...

looks like MF is top ecnl team in NJ at this age,the new girls must be playing well.

Anonymous said...

MFA ECNL went 1-1 this weekend and PDA lost both games. Does not mean or even come close that MFA is the better team than PDA. I think personally that some of these ECNL teams are not that good at all right now in this age group. EDP 1st division top teams would beat most of the ECNL teams currently.

Anonymous said...

when do they play each other?

Anonymous said...

October 19th

Anonymous said...

No lay ups for the ECNL teams. They beat each other up each week. Penn Fusion looks to be top of the class right now. They were strong last spring and picked up some new kids this year. Let's go NJ ECNL teams. Represent.

Anonymous said...

Only the weak think anyone is "running up the score". Blame your coach. Maybe he shouldn't be putting the team in competitions it doesn't belong. Probably the same type of parents that think that schools having an A and B team is a great idea. Ridiculous.

Anonymous said...

MFA has a long long long way to go..top ecnl..lmfao..u13 troll alert

Anonymous said...

In leagues where your placement can be decided by goal differential I understand why the scores can be high because if they show class that can be the difference from 1st place to 3rd or 4th. Example NJ Force won the EDP South flight over SJEB & Brick who had the same record of 3-0-4 by winning their last game 6-0 over Stronghold. Tournaments run the same way. I appreciate the coach who moves players around & doesn't attack the whole time but it might bite them in the but in the end because if the system. Hate the game not the player.

Anonymous said...

MFA ECNL might still have some work to do to get to the top, but looks like they are now able to compete. I am sure they will add a few more kids this spring and continue to improve. The ECNL draw will help attract more quality players.

Anonymous said...

MF 1-1 PDA 0-2 LMFAO

Anonymous said...

Wait, hold it, excuse me; Girls;Ref's.. the score is 4 to 0 should we stop now so the other team doesn't feel bad?? Get on board it's more competitive now and the girls know the deal. That rule applied in Rec. It is only week one though so let's not gloat just yet coach cat dad.

Anonymous said...

STA over NYSC 2-1 in NY NPL.

I'm going out on a limb here... however, it seems to me that Brick, MF and PDA will be the poster kids for the bashing in the upcoming season. Looks like the sights have already been set.
Sad, very sad!

are these the only nj teams left @ the top? King of the mountain?

Anonymous said...

Don't be foolish. There are a lot of good teams in nj and many will get their chance to be bashed. There's also a number of NJ girls on Penn Fusion and CFC so they are at least partly NJ too. Bash away.
That is a nice win posted for STA by the way. NYSC has been doing well and all the rumors were saying STA was crumbling. Good for them to notch a tough win.

Anonymous said...

Hey "cats" parent. Watchung - wow that was a challenge. You didn't win a game last season in your EDP division. Why would you think you are not supposed to be in the second division? Win your division or at least finish ahead of your division NPL opponents before you try to say you deserve to be in a higher division. With galaxy and a few other cupcakes, it shouldn't be a problem - guess we will see though, won't we. Maybe the bench girls can finally get some game time anyway - that would be a nice change.

Anonymous said...

add "cats" to the list, getting back to normal

Anonymous said...

Those parents are just so obnoxious - with no justification. And the coach really treats his bench like pieces of furniture - very sad those girls are put there by those parents. My opinion obviously doesn't matter to them, but I just feel so bad for some of them. How can they experiencethe joy of the game when they only practice.

Anonymous said...

6-0 is a win and it is well within reasonable margins.

Anonymous said...

Where are all the scores from the EDP festival? How come they are not posted? 6-0,6-1,even 4-0 if you are getting pounded like that you might want to move to a lower bracket.

Anonymous said...

Being in a league called National Premier Leagues (NPL) then getting pounded by EDP team 6-1 shows the the word play to lure teams away from their correct league level just to make a buck. Maybe gotsoccer has it right with a few adjustments like ranking=(total pts/sum point available from each tourney entered). Where is that calculus guy when you need him?

There were over 80 kids at EPYSA 2000 ODP tryouts and more at the 2001 year. I guess ODP still lives in PA. Other states still popular?

Anonymous said...

80 good?

Anonymous said...

this would be the 3rd yr for the age group so many who did not make it the 1st 2x do not re-try.

Anonymous said...

The 7 regional pool players were not there because they get a bye for the first couple of tryouts.
even though, there seemed to me to be an overall drop off a little in quality. If the other states are holding steady might be a rough tournament. last year EPA put forward 2 "equal" teams. By my account it did seem they tried to make them relatively equal, but the result was that neither was competitive.

Would not expect the national pool player to be there, but many of the ECNL players from Penn Fusion'99 and FC Bucks '99 are no longer participating. Though the Penn Fusion '00 team did have a few kids trying out.

Made me wonder if in this particular age group most of the kids trying out are eighth graders and have the time and energy for ODP this year. Maybe the high schoolers are over taxed. Is this age group now weighted toward the younger players? Did the high schoolers who didn't make the regional pool decide it wasn't worth it?

HBC 2. STA 0. If you missed it

Heard wildcats had a new coach. Anyone know anything about him?

Anonymous said...

2:37pm 9:00am 8:45am 8:42am Get over it!! You are probably the same person anyway. If it's your kid being treated like furniture, leave the team. I'm sure you'll land a starting position elsewhere. If the parents are obnoxious, stay away from them. I got news for you. None of these teams have parents with best behavior Copa-Copa-Copa..

Anonymous said...

I am 2:37. Not a parent and certainly didn't post earlier. My child is not furniture on wildcats. And she isn't furniture on her team either.

Why in asking a question if there is a new coach at wildcats a bad thing? And how does that tie back to being a disgruntled wildcat parent. Just seeking information. People talk. Half of it is BS. Trying to get a fact straight that is all.

Anonymous said...

All I can assume 3:09 is that you assumed that I said the wildcats got a new Couch not a new Coach....

Anonymous said...

wildcats?do they play soccer?jags,mosa,rec?

Anonymous said...

You can't stay away from them. They move up and down the field right in front of everyone else if their little princess is too far away. Very obnoxious.

COPA COPA COPA!!!! 3-0 YESTERDAY VS TSF TOTAL DOMINATION!!!

Anonymous said...

Did TSF's better players leave for GFA? They played with them on Super Y team over the summer?

Anonymous said...

yes....they only played with 5 players

Anonymous said...

Shocked that the wildcats dad hasn't written on here yet!!! Sad but he never talks about his own kid......

How did Brick get points for fc stars?

FC Stars Tournament
Semi-Finalist
1632
Stop your baiting, That was last week!

Although, I hope no points for this last weekend. 8th place team beating a 47 place team....I don't know! Nothing to brag about.

Anonymous said...

2nd place teams in 2 bracket events where there is only a final get credit for SEMIFINALIST points

Anonymous said...

1-2 and you get semi points what joke

Anonymous said...

4:05 a little pathetic. Either a TSF parent stirring or you are actually sad enough to have gone on the Copa website to see the score, as this was not an EDP game so score not posted anywhere else.

Anonymous said...

Around midnight you're worried about what another team does? Have you no life? People have to stop obsessing about other teams as it makes you wonder how crazy you are for the team your daughter is on. You must be that crazy parent that moves up & down the field pretending you're playing yelling out all the wrong instructions to other peoples kids then complaining to ref about every call. You must be a joy to have on your team & I'm just thankful you aren't on our team. Parents set such. Poor example for their kids with this type of behavior.

Anonymous said...

6:29 you have a huge set to call someone out for posting at midnight when you post at 6AM.

Maybe that's when the parent goes to work or comes home from work and you say get a life. Gee- I hope you are not a parent on my daughter's team.

11:30 correct - 2nd place teams in a flight of 8 teams get semi-final points

Anonymous said...

Why are people so obsessed with what's going on other teams? I worry about my daughters team & respect all teams we play. There are some teams I would never root for as their behavior is embarrassing but I won't come on here & mention them as I don't need to. All of us have come across these teams as well as good teams that play well & show sportsmanship so I don't bash them either even after we lose to them. Don't make excuses because sometimes they are better or just played better that day so kudos to them.

Anonymous said...

This is from the Got Soccer webiste under Help with the topic of Point Distribution

2. Semi-Finalist points are awarded only if the a flight has eight or more teams.
If the event does not use the GotSoccer software we only award semi-finalist points when an actual semi-final match is held.
If the event does use our software and the event does not hold either a semi-final or a 3rd-place consolation match, semi-finalist points are automatically awarded to the 3rd and 4th place team based on the overall flight standings

Copa parent, since you seem ( or pretend) to be fair, I have a question for you:
Your coach was showing up in other team's games talking to parents on recruiting their daughters.
I agree you had a good season but don't you find this totally unprofessional ? I am a parent that witness it in two games

Anonymous said...

9:39-----Don't you think that he had spoken to them prior and that the coach felt it was ok to speak to them because they already knew each other? That was not the first conversation. The coach did not walk up to a parent and say Hi, I am the coach of X and I would like to have your daughter on my team.

Anonymous said...

Doesn't matter.

If the coach is trying to get the player to change teams IN SEASON, it is improper.

In season being between 9/1 and 6/1

Anonymous said...

Not a COPA parent but I have seen MANY coaches in this state at games talking to other parents. Especially at tournaments, state cup games, other good match games or a game with meaning.

Maybe they have a relationship with the family, maybe that family contacted the coach, maybe they were passing by the game and asked someone what is the score and simply had a converstion, maybe they are playing at that location before or after, maybe they were scouting a team on their schedule, and yes maybe they were recruiting.

Coaches are looking to build their teams through development and replacing the bottom of their team with better players. It is a coaches job to improve the player and the team. There is nothing wrong with that and it is happening everywhere. Of course no one would like it if it happened to their team (including me). What I don't like is when a coach tells or encourages a player to leave their team during the season. I have no issue when a coach promites their team. If a player decides they are unhappy in their current situation then they should leave their team and take their unhappiness with them.

this blog is "too funny", i have taken #2 comment from the top of the blog , reprinted it as 939 as a joke... to show we go in around circles

Anonymous said...

Does anyone really care about Brick......That team is smoke and mirrors....When have they really won anything since U11. If they had been able to keep the better players that left the team, they would be a top 3 team in the state. Prediction: They will not get by the first round in the State Cup.

Anonymous said...

what other team in nj has been as competitive playing in mostly top brackets since U11 beside splash & sjeb?

Anonymous said...

and get no results

Anonymous said...

Interesting to put down a team that always competes against top competition rather then in low level tournaments to get pts. I would rather be a team like that then the opposite. Development is the key during these years & if these games go either wY then there is value if you're getting blown out then you're in the wrong flight. Not sure of these top players you say Brick has lost as we have played them a lot over the years & maybe the 1 talk GFA girl didn't stay but that's about it & I don't know if top player would be accurate in my opinion.

Anonymous said...

Give the points back....earn them next time

Anonymous said...

watch out for brick high school when "all these top players" that left reunite

Anonymous said...

Way too funny all you people here who know and constantly critique GotSoccer and the points that inflate the standings of teams here in NJ, and have little relevance to actual level of team, style of play or " player development". Now complaining about a team getting points . Like watching dog chase tail. Or like other writer said, going in circles. Why are you so bothered by Brick getting points.. It's a level playing field when it comes to GotSoccer..just a computer algorithms, no bias toward coaches teams parents players.

Anonymous said...

Too funny! Worried about pts or people that no longer play on a team man you need a life! I don't even know you but feel bad for your family. You warm pts by playing teams & I applaud teams that go out to play top competition not just play in 14 low level tournaments to earn pts. Earn them by testing yourself against the best you can as some of these tournaments shouldn't even offer pts. Got soccer isn't a perfect system but it's all there is since not everybody plays the same teams.

Anonymous said...

Say what you will about Brick, BUT, I promise that their trophy/medal case as a team is bigger than yours. For what they've accomplished over the years as a town team certainly has my respect and admiration. They've obviously done something right. So, keep on hating. ;-)

Anonymous said...

ok so you have Copa that collects thousands of points by playing in low flights all season. You have Stallions that used all the points earned by the Americans and the coach is using the new status to tell everybody how good he is.
you have the above and you build a case over 1000points for Brick???

I agree if you do well people look to knock you. A lot of teams have come & gone and teams have dropped off after a cup of coffee at the top of NJ soccer & the same 3 or so teams are still there so there is something to be said & I'm sure it's harder to so it in a town environment so why not just respect that some teams clearly have been doing a lot right for a long time in this age group. Way to represent NJ. I root for a team like Brick except when they play us.

Anonymous said...

"Hey brick coach, what top level event did you win?to get your points?you didn't get over yourself and win something"

Do your homework, and stop making yourself look like an idiot.

Anonymous said...

Recruiting. What makes you think he was asking her to leave this year? I know kind of a stupid comment, but it isnt all wrong. IF he was talking to you about your daughter would you still feel the same? No you wouldnt.

Anonymous said...

copa parent (or coach) stop bashing other teams and look at your performance now that you are playing on top flights . you are nobody compare to the History of Brick.
your arrogance is incredible.

Anonymous said...

Not sure why anyone would think brick has been nothing but a top team for years.

Not sure why someone thinks COPA is bashing brick. I did not read that.

Not sure why we all just can't get along.

COPA Rematch with HBC this coming weekend. COPA 2 HBC 0

Anonymous said...

Teams bash to take the heat off if their team, Freehold used to do that now that they stopped talking people have left them alone. Copa starting talking which is why they get bashed too.

How can anyone talk about a person like they know them, that's slander. I know our coach is friends with him so can't imagine he's that bad. Sounds like someone has an axe to grind.
