Stallions have a chance to gain some ground next weekend. It would be nice to have several NJ make noise at this age bracket. It show that in this age bracket NJ has good talent to compete in the region. Hopefully top NJ teams represent the state well outside of the region too.

at 6:07 PM PSA IGFA has 7 D1 commits and going 8 D2/D3 2 other D1s on the team but they are 2018 and 2017. Top Drawer is not always the best source for info. IGFA will be alright for the college coaches

Anonymous said...

NJ Stallions has 29 college commits in the 2016 graduating class. 20 D1 schools, 4 Ivy League and 1 D3 which is the best academic school in the country and current D3 National champion. They have the most impressive list across the nation:

College commits is just that a verbal... Anyone can commit to school once they are interested and that by no means implies or suggest that you will be playing soccer ... Keep drinking the crack.... That my friends is call propaganda... People could publish what they want to sell you the bridge... Go back to u14 blog... And keep serving ECNL JUICE soon in enough DA WILL send that whole pipe dream to the garbage...

Anonymous said...

7:19 I have a question for you gurus - my daughter wants to go to Duke - she has the grades to get into any school. So because she plays soccer a club is going to say they had a Duke commit when graduates or any school for this question?

Anonymous said...

9:26 you are correct. So much of this is marketing. Many of the clubs in NJ are better at marketing than anything else. With all of the shake up of birth year and the DA the key is to find the strongest program that is appropriate for each player. That requires being objective about our own children which seems to be scarce in youth soccer. You need to find the team and coach that are best for each individual player. Everyone on here needs to realize that the right fit is different for each family. Regardless of club, the player/family needs to do work in the college search

Anonymous said...

926 and 948- some of what your saying is correct but what your implying is not. A girl can only commit to a school she has an offer to play soccer at. Clubs will use that for marketing purposes. A club will NOT use a girl that has not signed a NLOI to play soccer for marketing. So no if your daughter goes to duke and doesn't play soccer she will not be listed as a commit.

Anonymous said...

1:10 Question - I'll take this convo a little further - lets say her grades get her in and she enrolls with no NLOI. But she makes the team as a walk on - plays good enough and is already in the school so nothing for the coach to lose. What then? She made school on her own and plays soccer for the school - does the club then use her as a stat?

Anonymous said...

1:10 I am not going to stir the pot by naming names but I know of a commitment page on a club site that lists former players "commitments". No more than half of them went to play soccer. That is a fact. The club did not lie, these girls put deposits down to attend these schools. The assumption for those looking at the page is that they all went to play soccer, but it does not state that anywhere on the page. Marketing!

Anonymous said...

1:36 PM She could be listed as an alumni to the club if she ends up playing but not on their teams list of College Commitments when she grads in 2020 and not listed with their Teams Signing day feb 2020 or whenever that date is. Because there was never an athletic scholarship offer or was she considered a recruited player defined as such by the NCAA. If she does go that route Id say its more to do with the determination and will of the player than the development of the Club anyway.

2:18pm A lot of clubs also list players that have left that club years ago as their list of commits. Clubs consider it as they helped develop that player. Other clubs use players that have just came to their club this winter as part of their commit list even though they might have only played one or two games with them. your right its all a Marketing and money grab. No true development going on. But a club should be listing girls that aren't playing that sport in college as part of their commit or alumni list. If parents were smart a simple google search could go along way.

So we went to the Penn Fusion age group training today. About 50 kids. Most look to be Penn Fusion players with their practice shirts and gear on. About 15 kids appear to be from outside the club. They put them on a feild together and mix in a few Penn Fusion kids and play like 7v7. Tthere are about 6 coaches watching attentively and it looks legit. 4 are attentive to this group. One is with all Penn Fusion kids and another seems to be with kids who all stayed together on one field. They had black uniforms and i think I think maybe the west chester club travel kids.
Then the all Penn Fusion group comes over and they make teams of new kids versus Penn Fusion kids. The new kids look to hold their own and a few actually stand out. I am thinking wow the Penn Fusion parents are probablt pretty worried about their little Mias spot right now.

I was shocked when walking to the car my kid says, "Well the guy in charge says that there aren't any opennings on the ECNL team. That if you are not already Penn Fusion only NPL is open". WTF??? Why hold this event and have us travel over there, coaches spending their time and really watching too if it's a farce? DId anyone else's kid say this to them or did my kid lose something in translation? Should we even bother to call the club and ask what's up?

Anonymous said...

There was far more than 15 outsiders, unless you are talking about 15 outsiders just in ECNL group? Was your kid with the ecnl players (far field), NPL (nearest bleachers) or WC groups (on right side of field)?

Anonymous said...

There is always a spot open for the right kid. That kid is rarely ever found at an open tryout. They aren't displacing a kid because your kids shows they may be better in a tryout. Building a team is hard work and player turnover makes it much harder.

Anonymous said...

the group of 7 Penn legacy players who were there were pulled aside and told they would not all end up together

Anonymous said...

Stallions is ver impressive, but not as impressive as MFA last year, and this year both PDA and MFA had more D1 Commits. Stallions have a great club, and this group is special. The kid who left for MFA I assume both clubs counted, which is fine.

Anonymous said...

I assume that's means they were not allseen as being at the ecnl level? NPL for some.

Anonymous said...

What age group was this? With this BYC I can't follow who's where on this blog anymore. People seem to be jumping boards already.

Anonymous said...

PL had 2 girls at the 01 event, the group of 7 were 02's. Not sure why we are talking about the 02's on this board. It's not supprising there are no spots on the current ECNL rosters. PF unlike NJ clubs carry only 18 and they are full. These ID sessions were for next years teams.

Anonymous said...

Really??? Thanks! I think everyone thought these ID events were for this year.

Anonymous said...

I'm not sure whether that was sarcasm or not. But the PF site was pretty clear about what these ID events were. They went so far as to say no one will be contacted for given an evaluation and that no spots would be offered until the official tryout process in spring. Of course we all know that's not entirely true but for the most part....

Anonymous said...

517 is probably talking about the '00s. There were more outsiders in the 01 group. My guess is that they will only take a new player if she is going to be a starter. Why replace a bench player with another bench player at u17? Its not like a high ceiling project kid will have enough time to pay off. Both the u15 and u16 teams are doing pretty well right now maybe they don't want to mess up the chemistry unless the kid is a real stud. Probably only a few of those players out there at 00 and they are well known. PF are involved in ODP so they have a pretty wide scope on the player landscape. Most are at PDA and I don't think they will leave Mecca unless there are play time issues.

Anonymous said...

That stallion team was lighting in a bottle. That team has been together since an early age and has followed the coach through good and bad and through 3 different clubs. They have showcased and won everything there was to win. Congrats to them. Don't believe for a second that the same success will be extended to this age group.

Anonymous said...

Says the bitter parent whose daughter couldn't make the team.

Anonymous said...

There are players listed on the Stallions site that have played about 3 games. And played for different clubs until this fall season. SC is good but he will never achieve the same result again. His current U16 is a yearly revolving door with couple core players that have not left yet. Each season the new players are weaker and weaker.

Anonymous said...

Commits and actually signed to play soccer are two different things. You can commit for academically reason and that is the case of most of the girls posted there. Please let's not be so stupid

Anonymous said...

@9:48 seems to have a crystal ball with their definitive outlook on SC's future. Can you also tell us the upcoming winning lottery numbers please. Salty much?

Like I said that Stallion team is something special. Before the ECNl they would go head to head with the PDA Arsenal team that won the ECNL national championship this past year.
All girls have been ID'ed and click on their indivisual bio as they are all highly decorated. The team have constantly been top 3 in the country. (yes according to GS)
Why on earth would you think this group who hasnt won anything would mature into anything similar to that team.

BTW, in terms of playing soccer and especially in D1, if you committ to a school, you are committing to play soccer to the school once you are accepted and they are committing money towards your tuition, otherwise you are just accepted not comitted.

Anonymous said...

12:12 - Nobody in this blog cares about the current U16 NJ Stallions team. Really, we don't! Please go back to the U16 blog until the fall.

Anonymous said...

12:12 we all understand that. The point of that conversation is that there are clubs taking liberties by calling college choices commitments and leading people to believe that all players listed committed for soccer and went on to play.As stated, a simple google search will tell

Anonymous said...

You must be talking about the large academy (not really) that sends all its committed players toD3 schools

Anonymous said...

No not speaking about one specific club and this may come as a shock, some girls that are capable od D1 soccer choose D3 schools. D3s are smaller schools and generally have high academics which in many cases are a better fit for some girls. So to talk about them in a derogatory way insinuating that girls that play there were not good enough to play D1 shows real ignorance. While many D3 programs are just decent, there are a number of them that could beat the smaller D1s.

Anonymous said...

People on here talk of what they do not know. The girls that left for MFA only left this Xmas. She used the special talent of the team and coach to get to Georgetown - then didn't want the commitment of playing as a u18 so left for an easy ride at a lesser team with HS friends. Even though she used the team to get to a top school, Stallions as a club did not even recognize her on the published list above. They also didn't use players from the very same team that graduated a year earlier that went to UNCW and Seton Hall. PDA and MFA as 2016's don't come close in this age group.

As for the u15's, you should watch them play before realizing they have every chance of becoming the same success story.

Anonymous said...

Sorry "girl" not plural.

Anonymous said...

@12:09 am - nice backhanded comments towards a bunch of kids who put in unreal amount of sacrifice to achieve something pretty amazing.

how about you could argue that he used her and other players special talents to create this team by recruiting them to join at U15. after continually losing to these players for years - makes sense. if you can't beat them - get them to join!

Anonymous said...

Go back to u16 blog,We want to talk about slick and gfa mom on this blog.

Anonymous said...

Any thoughts about the other Pa Ecnl teams. PF seems closed but want about CFC or Bucks? The last 2 seemed open to bringing new girls and seem to offer great exposure. I know little about these teams since they don't generally play an EDP team outside of a tournament. Thanks in advance for your insight.

Anonymous said...

I heard that registrations for PDA tryouts are staggering. Last few years their numbers were lower than normal with only returning players trying out sprinkled with a few new faces but with the new age mandate, this is like a blessing in disguise for them.

Anonymous said...

LOL...the only reason that PDA tryout numbers were previously low was because BB thought his team that won at NPL or region 1 at U11 was good enough to compete with clubs that had wide tryouts for the formation of their ECNL teams. He was wrong, he is no longer there and thus the increased tryout numbers.

Anonymous said...

There were 80+ girls at PDA tryouts last year for this age group.

Anonymous said...

PDA has 3 teams in this age group with roughly 23-25 girls on each roster, that roughly around 70 girls! That means only 9-10 new faces tried out! Please stop the madness! STA had 100 girls trying out for this age group with only 2 teams of 20 player rosters, those are real numbers!

Anonymous said...

I thought PDA had 4 teams in this age group!

Anonymous said...

They have 4 but only 2 really matter.

Anonymous said...

IGFA beat every PDA so none of them really matter!

Anonymous said...

Sta had over 100girls at the age group so PDA is not a big deal

Anonymous said...

We get it, back to the same old conversation. IGFA is the best in the country, STA rules and PDA is a waste of time and money. And the Wildcats and Cedar Stars cheat.

Anonymous said...

Why are they in third bracket at manhattan?

Anonymous said...

Does anyone have any insight about CFC or fc Bucks Ecnl? I hate to change the subject but the above has already been covered over the last 2 years enough.

Anonymous said...

CFC and BUCKS ECNL will get your kid exposure. To be honest though you should go watch them play and see for yourself. If you are really interested contact the coach s/he may invite to a training session.

Anonymous said...

If you have to ask at this age then your kid is where she belongs, if not there are three clubs that are tops,do your homework. ..dont play stupid!!!

Anonymous said...

She has trained and was invited to join next years 01 Ecnl team after an id day. I have only spoken to a coach but our intentions are to bring her to more trainings in the spring. Her current coach and team will change due to club mandated birth year. That's why we are looking. Ecnl teams are tough to scout online because their history is tougher to find and see common opponents. I was just asking before we could get her out this spring. Any other intelligent insight might help her and others during this crazy time.

You Can't Handle the truth said...

@7:15 for you and the rest of the idiots on here put all the money you spend on I'd camps and training in the bank and presto college will be paid for news flash 98 percent of your kids aren't going anywhere.

Anonymous said...

7:48 the funny thing is to me- it shows that they care about their kids and regardless if they have the goods or not - their kids tried and if nothing comes from it they tried. Money is obviously not an issue for them because if it was they wouldn't go - so the only real idiot is you because you think they don't know that 1% of the youth soccer players actually make it just like in any other sport.

7:15 all the results can be found on the ECNL website that you need -other events don't mean a thing to the ECNL clubs they have their events, the ECNL events and league play - nothing more is needed if you are in that world. I agree with watch how CFC/Bucks play, if your kid is a defender/goalie they will get a lot of action if they are an attacking players good luck as both the u14 & u15 struggle and in regards to PA soccer no attacking players moving will impact these teams as the top ECNL teams can defend really well

NEFC aka Boston will probably be tops 01 followed by in no order PDA/WC/PF/Stars and CT with others that should be okay - so can CFC and Bucks be nice - yes - but it will take alot to make a playoff run

3;16 that doesn't surprise me as they have solid teams at u14 and u15

Anonymous said...

How about you worry about your own bank account, mine is quite fine but thanks for your concern!

Does anyone know with the birth year change can a team play up to stay together?

Anonymous said...

Yes...Princeton is

Anonymous said...

Is there any guidelines as far as a team playing up. % of players at that year

Anonymous said...

No there is not. Play up is open

Anonymous said...

But will Princeton new coach/owner let entire team play up? I doubt he will want to mess up multiple age groups to cater to one team. It's about building a program

One team is all Princeton has. Of course they will stay together. Good Luck next year.

Anonymous said...

4:16 we will be fine but thank you , good luck to you too.

Anonymous said...

it's not how you start but how you finish... PSA is doing respectively well in Manhattan ... It will get better overtime how many clubs does watchung have?

Anonymous said...

Congrats to region 1 00 Girls for winning the Costa Rica tournament.

Anonymous said...

Another poor showing for NJX at MSC Spring kick off

Anonymous said...

If Princeton has one team, how they could play 2 events at the same time. Manhattan tournament and regional championship game at the same time. Some people assume too much.

Anonymous said...

Why do you care so much about NJX??? Not happy where you are?

Anonymous said...

I guess NJ Elite woke up from that pipe dream they've been on the last few months. What happened to them having best midfielder in the state? Did she even play? Lost to a fake World Class team made up of rec players from Wayne! Pathetic!

Anonymous said...

Has MC stepped down as GFA U15 coach?

Anonymous said...

@1:23 yes he did he's training your mother in bdsm

Instead of being ashamed for the language used in a blog where also young kids are on , let's keep insulting people . Great example for our kids. You all should be ashamed and I beg the blog administrator to stop this disgusting behavior asap.

Same dad's who left igfa and still not happy with there new clubs and then there newer clubs and then there newest club stop by igfa say hi we have some dad's who would love to talk to you .

Anonymous said...

I love how these IGFA parents who are completely new to the team talk crap like their kid had a part in making that team number 1!

Anonymous said...

Was your kid on the team when IGFA won in Indiana. The answer is NO NO NO NO NO ! Just stop !

Anonymous said...

Figured that would keep you quiet.

Anonymous said...

Who cares!

Anonymous said...

WOW. I see the Wildcats can't even get into Jefferson Cup without using the Brick Fury name and JH's connections. What an absolute disgrace. I wonder if the Jeff Cup coordinators realize that its a counterfeit team. What a joke.

Anonymous said...

That's old news. They won't be able to donut next year after they leave.

Anonymous said...

Which ECNL team did Copa goalie go to?

Anonymous said...

a desparate one...LOL

Anonymous said...

No need for comments like that. Was just wondering what club she went to.

Anonymous said...

Copa lost both goalies at this age in the past year to ECNL teams. First one went to Splash, and now this one has gone to Match Fit.

Anonymous said...

Wow, they lost two? I assume they have 3? If not, they'll be in trouble without a goalie.

Anonymous said...

Last year goalie went to splash and sat all spring last year and is now on hornets.

Anonymous said...

Dear Club owners and coaches, please stop making parents buy new uniform kits every year! Addidas to Nike to Puma back to Addidas.....make up your goddam mind already!

So how quickly does Ecnl become irrelevant? If the top Ecnl clubs have boys Academy teams one could conclude that they will try to get girls academy? Pda, Continental etc. If that happens how quickly does Ecnl become watered down?

Anonymous said...

Ecnl is strong and will stay strong

Anonymous said...

Great answer. Are you related to Saddams information minister. Please explain answer. How can ecnl survive this and remain as relevant. I had every intention of my daughter joining her friend at PF. Emailed coach and received and invite for one of the "closed" teams you talk about. But now I see Ecnl losing relevance. Ecnl parents I know also tell me so. They say they want there daughters committed by next year then they won't care. From there stand point ecnl will be watered down competitively but still have good coaches. So there kids will get good coaching and be able to play school ball. The other question is how low will the bar go to add clubs to ecnl when clubs leave.

Anonymous said...

Not the poster above but I agree that the ECNL will not become irrelavant as the girls DA is created. Here are my reasons.
1) You have to look at the end game for both genders.

If the top 1% of boys play for a DA they're end game could be to play professionally. Domestic or abroad, best case scenario to be brought up to the senior team for the academy they play for. (ie Red Bulls) Otherwise for the boys all other leagues and school camps will get them visibility to schools to continue on their journey.
What is the end game for the DA girls side? Is it to play in the NWSL or national team? Unless you look like Alex Morgan and can get sponsorships from other companies, you better get used to living near the poverty line and working every clinic, soccer camp you can to make ends meet. If your daughters end game is to continue to play at a top school get a degree and continue with life than all other leagues will always be a viable and successful option. The ECNL showcases, for example, are always filled with top schools and US Soccer scouts anyway so the first outcome is still always possible.

2) There has not been any confirmation that all NWSL team's will create academies. If you are looking at clubs like PDA to join, you are wrong. PDA has already declined the opportunity. From the club's point of view, the already crowded training facilities will have to fit in how many more teams for a minimuim of 4 times a week (possibly hiring more staff)?
Are they truly going to be like the boys and be free to play? Which clubs would be willing to absorb those costs? As I said the biggest and most successful club in NJ is not.

IMHO, girls that want to continue on to college but still play the beautiful game will continue playing in the current top league (ECNL) and it may be the DA that will be somewhat watered down as girls on estabilished teams will not want to mess with recruiting years to be in an unknown situation. Of course they will be some that leave and girls who currently would not make the local ECNL squad will try going to the DA. DA may be successful in the future but this age group will be long gone...just my opinion.

Anonymous said...

I would agree. Wont affect this age group to much. Pda declined? Interesting since my daughters club has the academy on the boys side and is applying for the girls. Doc said he is 70% sure they will get it. Perhaps they did offer it to a few up front before you cold apply. Just seams odd. My source is our Doc who is my daughters coach. Seams pretty reliable.

Anonymous said...

There's a new sheriff in town and they are called the NJ Stallions! IGFA dropped to #17 in the nation and are now looking up to the Stallions......let's see what happens after Jeff Cup!

Anonymous said...

SJEB right on GFA heels too. Best team in the USA was last year.

Anonymous said...

LOLOL @ the last 2 comments. GFA is still better than both. Stallions are mediocre at best and SJEB has always been a good team.

Anonymous said...

Who cares about GFA they won't even be playing with us next year. Have fun in U17. Let's see how team spirit holds up when you start losing more than winning. But wait MC said we would be just fine. LOLOLOLOLO!!!

Anonymous said...

News flash moms. Rankings mean nothing. Especially if your from NJ and your retarded coach doesent follow practice/game ratio. So to see where you really are look at your winning percentage. Then look at your games played. Remember that tournaments list pda don't give points but are much better then maps, rider cup etc. So my daughters lowly team barely has 9000 pts. But that is only in 14 games room GS. With a 85% winning percentage. They haven't lost since Jcup last year. Having played 8 tournaments including pda, casl , Bethesda etc. We will see how they do at Jcup. More likely to lose to a 7500 pt team then some 20,000 pt nye/nj team. They are mostly a joke that end 5-0 us. And we're not that awesome.

Anonymous said...

If you still think that Got Soccer points mean anything, you should play in MOSA and JAGS. You can rack them up there.

Anonymous said...

http://youthsoccerrankings.us

Recognized as the most accurate rankings although I am sure not perfect. It is updated daily and if you read up on how they assess it makes a lot more sense than GS. Also for anyone who has ever played the top teams on here seems pretty accurate!

Anonymous said...

So GS points suck now that IGFA isn't number 1, how convenient! Sounds like a lot of butt hurt parents talking smack now that the might have fallen. Stallions are the real deal and will remain number 1 and ahead of IGFA after Jeff Cup! And if Stallions suck so much, why are current active players from IGFA registering for Stallions tryouts? Hmmmmmmm........

Anonymous said...

This blog has been saying that got soccer point are not good even when Igfa was number one so nothing new , relax. Stallions are a good team . Yes all current player from Igfa are registered to stallions tryouts hoping for a chance. Lol

Anonymous said...

we beat stallions 2-0 last time we played them. And it should have been worse. So go away. Take your mucky mom loving coach with you.

Anonymous said...

Hey Sta mom relax, you beat stallions 2-0 out of a lucky day. Stallions is ten times stronger. And watch out all your current players are registered for our tryouts . Wonder why...

Anonymous said...

I saw the stallions play this past weekend and they are easily the best team in the nation at this age group. All the other teams should just fold.

-Alex Morgan

Anonymous said...

Why does IGFA coach like taking screen shots of GotSoccer and post it to his FB wall when they were number 1?

Anonymous said...

The same reason that the stallions are happy they are number 1 on gs now I guess. It for sure means you don't suck.

Anonymous said...

Stallions are #1 just because IGFA PSA did not compete in the Manhattan tournament. Both teams will measure their strengths in the upcoming NPL league.

Anonymous said...

Don't say GotSoccer points suck and then brag about how many your team has! PDA doesn't care about GotSoccer because its a joke!

Anonymous said...

Maybe they should, we kicked there butt a few months ago and if they can get though that weak side of the bracket, we will do it again next weekend

Anonymous said...

Hey gfa mom relax,i here you lost your top player since then, whete did she go?.....LOL

Anonymous said...

I don't have a dog in this fight. I think the Stallions are a good team however they racked up many of their points in weak events. 5k points for a ridiculously weak Manhattan bracket is nothing you should be bragging about. Win region 1 or the top bracket at Jeff Cup or PDA and then you can talk.

Anonymous said...

I doubt any stallions parent or player is on here bragging. You must be new to this site. Every time a team wins anything some idiot who obviously has serious social issues comes on her trolling to stir up shit. Did it to Copa, pda, gfa and now stallions. I have daughters in multiple age groups and the U15 blog is by far the most disfunctional.

Curious that Stallions are not attending PDA Showcase.

Anonymous said...

I would think you need to be accepted, maybe they applied and were denied. (see IGFA last year) Stallions could win the Jeff Cup second bracket as it is very weak. Century will be their only competition. PDA has a very weak bracket and should make the finals, however i think Bethesda, HBC, or IGFA could beat them.

Pda -u15. Taking a team from bottom bracket of bethesda who lost over team from top bracket at Bethesda who didn't lose and is also a state cup winner. To many back ally deals.

Anonymous said...

It is Crazy that Stallions were not accepted at PDA showcase. They are the best team around. They just won Manhattan, guess PDA is afraid to look bad if play them. Always political in this tournament

Anonymous said...

My daughters team not accepted for Pda. They are in top flight at jcup. There is at least 25 teams accepted at Pda that are in lesser Jcup brackets. Including Pittsburg who is in bottom bracket of Jcup.

Anonymous said...

That's PDA for you!

Anonymous said...

I agree. Stallions must be a threat for them . Let's go win Jefferson cup and they will look the fool for not having such a great team. Only weak teams are at their showcase so they can look good. PDA should be ashamed!

Anonymous said...

731 crazy parent,IGFA still the best team in country, we will win jeff cup, just hope pda can get though weak side so we can crush tham again.

Anonymous said...

Does not really matter much as PDA showcase does not mix and match ECNL and non- ECNL at this one. PDA does things on their own terms. Possible that SC has worn out his welcome for Stallions at PDA. Or as someone else said earlier, he forgot to register.

Anonymous said...

PDA Haters should be happy that they include Non-ECNL clubs to participate in an ECNL event while all of the major scouts are in town. San Diego Surf doesn't. Who cares who you play, it is a showcase not a tournament.

Anonymous said...

Exactly, but most people on here that are non-ECNL can't grasp the concept of showcase vs tournament. this goes against all that they believe in...Gotsoccer points, who's ranked what in the country...my team is better than yours.

Last I knew, there has never been a whole team recruited by any one college. In a showcase, coaches couldn't care less on who wins or losses. If they have ID'ed a player that is who they are there to see. (of course the game as a whole, but really keying in on the ID'ed player)
The sooner parents realize that, the easier they will be on their kid and on the sideline.
In the case of a showcase it really isnt if you win or lose, it's how you play the game!

Hmmm...PDA blows out Bethesda, a very strong team. I think IGFA was already on the road home without that trophy. Where's all the haters with the PDA bashing now?

Anonymous said...

It is clear after the Jeff Cupt that GFA has a good team. With full energy, it can win against very strong teams such as Dallas Kicks (like this weekend). However, the team struggles to win a high level tournaments with starters playing 90% or with a weak bench.

This is the reason why PDA is such a strong team. PDA has all players at the same level. Subbing is just a natural part of the strategy and it is a key winning factor when you need to play many games. This weekend proved that.

In other words, GFA can challenge any tough top team in a single game. However, it is very difficult to persist the same top level play in multiple games over 1/2 days. In my opinion, GFA will do well in a single day events such as state cup, NPL or Regional games. However, it will struggle in multi-day top level tournaments. It will suffer from exhaustion resulting in extreme physical or mental "dehydration".

Anonymous said...

PDA guy. Bethesda had extremely challenging group and all its games were pretty tough. I believe you probably played against completely exhausted/weak team.

It doesn't mean PDA did not deserve the win. However, if you would play Bethesda in your group in the first game, the result would be (I believe) different.

Congratulation!

Anonymous said...

Didn't PDA play the same amount of games?

Anonymous said...

Way to go NJCSA The 2016 Jeff Cup Champions. Next stop the state cup champions!!!!

Anonymous said...

I'm pretty sure Bethesda played against a pretty exhausted team as well. 4 games in 30 hours is not good for anyone. Maybe US Soccer/US Club should have a mandate against that. Just sayin. You can toss that result out the window, although it is impressive. It's meaningless for both teams as neither cares about all those points they'll get from making/winning the final. Hopefully all teams came out of the weekend healthy.

Anonymous said...

Congratulations to PDA but have to say it was great soccer weekend in general . All teams were good. Saw different games , Dallas vs Igfa , Dallas Bethesda , PDA second game yesterday. All display great soccer, good players , great environment , all professional. Unfortunately I was not part of these teams as my daughter plays in a team a flight down. The difference in level between the two flights is really big. Was surprised . Anyway congratulations again to all for a great soccer weekend

Anonymous said...

Just some observations. PDA, Bethesda, HBC, Dallas, and FC Virginia play the ball very nicely on the ground. I think Igfa is a good team with very good athletes, but at this stage of the game they should realize that these are showcases and college coaches don't want to see the forwards/wings touch the ball back to the defense and then sprint for the long ball all game. Good competitive games.

Anonymous said...

Again saw ( really saw not just the negative assumption) Dallas vs Igfa and it was a great game from both parts , passing on the ground most of the time . Great combinations .Opportunities for both teams to score more goals . Overall there was some great quality. I actually think that Igfa is more technical than athletically strong . But PDA showed this weekend to be solid and organized . Congratulations to them for a job well done . Agreed on the depth of the team.big factor. But for once can we be positive towards all these girls that played really hard . And every college coach out there will choose whoever they need . Nobody knows what they are looking for . Some girls will get scholarships and some others won't in any of those teams . Nobody can say what a college coach is looking for , sometimes we just assume things .

Anonymous said...

I attended the Igfa game against Bethesda(score doesn't matter to me as games were foolishly too close together) and I caught 3/4 of their game against HBC. They are fast aggressive and physical sometimes unnecessarily physical team but. I wouldn't classify them as technical. PDA was technical and both Bethesda and HBC were technical (BTW that was an enjoyable game to watch). I did not see Igfa play Dallas, bc I had no interest in Dallas, so maybe they played better technical soccer in that game.

Anonymous said...

3/4 of the game with HBC and you saw HBC played good soccer in that game.? They were defending with 7 players in their area the entire second half with lots of pressure from Igfa . They barely passed midfield. There were great combinations in the first half by HBC and great combinations by Igfa during the second part of the game, they surely deserved a better result but couldn't finish all the opportunities they created. Their fault of course but cannot tell me HBC showed anything more in that game, scored a goal in first minute and that was basically it. I agree that it is a very good team and very experienced. They took home a win in a difficult game . Again without being the usual troll comment but trying to be objective ( I am also looking at a team for my daughter as my ecnl team is probably the worst ecnl team out there) I spent some time on the field these past two days and I saw good soccer in general. I found Bethesda very athletic more than a technical team. The two strikers up front are very fast. But again great display of experience and intensity. Igfa probably new to this and surely less experienced than other teams. PDA showed good consistency, I was happy to see that between NJ and Ny there are such good teams . Happy Easter everybody and we should all keep constructive comments like the past few. It is good to share different point of you and how we see the same game in such different angles . None of them are necessarily wrong.

Good review of HBC vs IGFA game. How about the Bethesda vs IGFA synopsis? Guess you missed that one.

We were tired!!!

Forget the troll. Bethesda vs Igfa , I saw some of it and at the beginning was kind of an even game but then some individual mistakes and maybe some tiredness of some key player effect Igfa game and Bethesda that is a very good team ,capitalized on every shot they took. It was 1-1 then 2-1 at first half. The part I saw in second half was showing Bethesda in control of the game after the 3-1. In that game I agree with other comments earlier about short bench when top players are tired. And I might add some lack of experience in certain moments.
Personally I liked a lot Dallas team. But as you said before too far from us to be a team to be interested in for my daughter. ( she might not even be good for any of the teams mentioned here anyway).
PDA was the best team this weekend . I am surprise about fc Virginia. Thought they were better. PA team probably the weakest. Surely one bracket was stronger than the other but the outcome is right by what was displayed in the field .

all this from a guy who doesn't have a kid playing....lol

Yes , from a guy that loves to be at the field and watch games all day and enjoying so much. My daughter was at the same locations and lots of time in between her games and gave me lots of time to see some good games. Anything wrong with that? I love this beautiful game .and I have my kid playing , not in those teams but I have .

I agree. Stallions must be a threat for them . Let's go win Jefferson cup and they will look the fool for not having such a great team. Only weak teams are at their showcase so they can look good. PDA should be ashamed!

just like a mom posting how good they played, after losing 2 out of 3,your 15 minutes are up.

Apparently if your a parent of a child who's team plays in the bottom bracket and they win their half of the tournament you shouldn't be proud! As a matter of fact, you are not allowed to express joy and your kid should be ashamed of themselves for playing so low. Why bother? @9:34 you must be a Donald Trump supporter!

Go Trump!

NJCSA is going to be the place to play starting 2017. They are getting new coaches, building new turf fields and becoming a development academy for girls. They are the ONLY option for 2001 or younger. If you have a 2001 or younger daughter you would be crazy not to go to tryouts and check out what’s coming. This will be the end of any academy program in central jersey. I’m registering my daughter and leaving the shore experiment. Feel the Bern....

I don't know about NJCSA being the place to be, but an educated guess would say they have an inside track to getting a spot for an academy, based upon TAB RAMOS involvement within USA soccer. If the women's side will follow suit of the men's side the coaching will have to change, they have to meet certain standards. So current coach would have to move on will not be involved at academy level.

Why would anyone bash the success of any team at any level? Based on posts the NJCSA team won their bracket at the Jeff Cup tourney, good for them, they were the best that weekend against teams of same or similar level. No they are not PDA Splash or PRinceton, NJ Stallions. They did a good job and represented NJ well. Perhaps they will have the same level of success at their level in the state cup, yes it is the lower division but so what? They will be playing teams of similar level and will have to perform to win it.

This blog is very cruel at times and that saddens me, every player is different, every team is different, every club is different. What I personally find is that NJ has a lot to offer for soccer players at every level. So enjoy , your daughter will or has found her level, she may or may not want more if she does let her pursue it! If not, let her be. But just sit back and enjoy. There aren't many games left for a lot of you. Do you remember when they were playing U9? Seems like yesterday, doesn't it!

Cheers

Actually if your from NJ we prefer you don't talk at all. Funny that someone from NJ would be anti-trump. He personifies what people expect from jersians. Arrogant, hollow, loud and brash. If Hilary and Trump are in his helicopter and it crashes who survives? AMERICA!!

Who cares about politics? We are insane youth soccer parents on this site, we only care about our kid

Just read that Woman's National team is suing FIFA again for its unfair treatment of female players. FIFA has to be the most corrupt governing body of any sport.

Good thing US Soccer is creating a girls DA, the boys model has been so successful!! (Wink Wink)

All the politics should be taken to another blog ! This is a SOCCER blog....!

Anonymous said...

I here nj rush and sjeb merged so they will be named the DA club?

Anonymous said...

NJ will have 3 or 4 DA clubs when it starts.

Anonymous said...

Why would the girls side have more then boys. Boys have 2 DA I believe?
