"Another 4 weeks for meaningful soccer"

Nah, man- sooner than that.

Fear the Riptide!

NOT

Anonymous said...

The riptide coaches are an embarrassment to youth sports.

Anonymous said...

8:51 - what happened today? Lots of screaming as usual from the clown coaches?

Anonymous said...

How any parent puts up with that nonsense is beyond comprehension. It starts with coaches and carries over to the parents side and the players.

Complete embarrassment!

Anonymous said...

Igfa great day!!!!!

Anonymous said...

Played some fierce opponents. Haha. Give me a break. Pa rush will beat you.

Anonymous said...

10:26 relax 9:57 is not from IGFA. Go back to watch tv and leave the other teams alone. Old bridge good job today , not an easy day but you played well. Hopefully all girls are having fun and hopefully weather will be better tomorrow

12 year old troll alert hating from the side lines

Anonymous said...

Freehold coaches and parents look down on Old Bridge touchlines antics.

Anonymous said...

PA Rush are missing 6 starters this weekend. Real might take them today.

Anonymous said...

PA rush doesn't miss any starters. We have full team. Just to be clear we do not want any excuses

Anonymous said...

I'm a Real parent. PA Rush parent told me yesterday that you were missing 6 starters this weekend. Fact.

Anonymous said...

10:36. Having fun and good weather. What else can you ask for? What time is the cook out and swim party?

Anonymous said...

As predicted, GFA didn't clinch a spot in final on Saturday and couldn't win with the pressure on. Same story every time. Cannot win when it's a game that counts. Bad coaching - the girls are certainly good enough.

Anonymous said...

Whoever said ISA weren't as strong as their NY ranking was very wrong... They slapped GFA 3-0 today.

GFA what happened?

Anonymous said...

They got beat down......they need slick back

I'm rooting for igfa in the third place game. Hehe

Anonymous said...

GFA 4-0 over PA Rush.

Anonymous said...

GFA i was at the game today next to your parents if i was the head i would get rid of several of your parents as all they did was talk about the team the coach and the parents sad.

Anonymous said...

Score online says PA Rush 4-1 over GFA.

Anonymous said...

For the record: USA vs IGFA 2-0
IGFA vs pa rush 4-1. The system has it all wrong. Whoever was there from all teams can confirm. Again nothing important. Just for the record

Anonymous said...

Isa not USA sorry

Anonymous said...

Gfa results this weekend. 9:0,4:0,0:2,4:1.

Anonymous said...

Nice job beating PA Rush who were missing 6 starters in the 4th game of the weekend which meant nothing.

Anonymous said...

Of course I am aware it means nothing. Congrats to real good job. I was just stating the scoring. Was a good weekend , all the haters are happy so they can have a blast insulting another team. Who knows why but it is all good. Got a tan too!

Anonymous said...

Maybe now GFA can calm down about being a top team when they can't even make a final in a low level tournament where Real won the flight. If they are so talented then what's the problem? Looks like training & coaching to me so why would you stay?

Anonymous said...

Well done Real! Nice team, nice parents, good coaches. All good people.

Anonymous said...

Rush parent here. GFA was clearly the best team we played all weekend. Real was very formidable as well. But IMO GFA was better.

Anonymous said...

GFA screwed up the early morning game (sleeping). Unfortunately, it cost them the final.

Anonymous said...

I thought all top four teams were good, played well and parents were nice and coaches very friendly with each other . Only one gets to win but we saw some good soccer . Nice weekend.

Anonymous said...

6:31 agreed they didn't play well, hit the top bars few times and had opportunities but cannot say they play well. Isa played probably the best game this morning.
All good and congratulations to them to make the final.

Anonymous said...

Moreover, games were very clean - played fair play without injuries.

Yes, a great soccer weekend on beautiful fields. Good fields help to see some good technical games.

Anonymous said...

6:52 all four top teams play the game not just kick and run or physical dirty playing. Some here are bashing without knowing what they are talking about. It was not a top tournament but we saw teams playing soccer and it was nice.

Anonymous said...

Nothing like an average summer c level tournament. Way to waste some money

Anonymous said...

Congrats to Real!! Nice people!! Keep it in NJ!! From GFA!!

Anonymous said...

7:15 nobody asked you any money. It is ours to waste . And we liked it. You can save us from your miserable comments.

Anonymous said...

7:23. Completely agree. Some people are positive and others - miserable. Feel sorry for some people who can not enjoy their lives even if their daughters/girls have fun.

Anonymous said...

Completely agree!! Fun weeks and good soccer played by the Top 4. 7:15...I really feel bad for your entire family. You must be a real joy to be around. Did you ever see "The Great Santini"? I think it is a movie about you...LOL!!! You are creepy!!

Anonymous said...

I agree with the post from 7:17 thru 7:39 The best thing to do is just ignore their comments.
I could comment and make a mental midget out of them but....why bother!

Anonymous said...

I agree with the post from 7:17 thru 7:39 The best thing to do is just ignore their comments.

Anonymous said...

Old Bridge are a disgrace. Coaches are despicable human beings!

Anonymous said...

Why are Old Bridge comments just disappearing?

Anonymous said...

Old Bridge coaches should not be allowed near a youth soccer field. absolutely disgraceful.

Anonymous said...

I heard the same thing about them but what did they do this weekend?

Anonymous said...

They dont know what a touchline is

Anonymous said...

Screaming and cursing. Constantly berating the referees and opposing coaches. Telling their own players to play dirty.

I hope EDP bans them after 1 season. They won't get away with it there, too many clubs with power will vote them out.

Anonymous said...

Perhaps you have never played against an Old Bridge team before. This is a club issue, I have never seen an OB team NOT act this way. Strange but true.

Anonymous said...

When you don't have skill or knowledge you're forced to play this way. Why are they in EDP when they aren't a dominate team in JAGS?

Anonymous said...

9:49
You are totally wrong. This is not the norm for the Old Bride teams. Just this team. I have watched other teams from Old Bridge and have not witnessed sideline behavior anywhere close to this team. These coaches are out of control.

Anonymous said...

Then why doesn't the Club handle this if they are that bad? Reach out to tournaments & leagues they have played in to see if this is an on going issue. Sad for the players that stay on that team.

Anonymous said...

You are wrong, Old Bridge coaches have long had this reputation. The club has had these issues.

Anonymous said...

"Completely agree!! Fun weeks and good soccer played by the Top 4"

What top 4? Top of what exactly?

Anonymous said...

I think they meant top 4 teams at that tournament clearly not top 4 in State or Region etc. PA Rush are PA State Champions. Nice win for Real after a rough Summer so far.

Anonymous said...

1:25 relax , always somebody trying to pick a fight to bash . we all meant the top 4 in the tournament . God forbid .

Anonymous said...

So what did the Old Bridge coaches do at the tournament. They usually have 4 or 5 coaches on the sideline. Like an American football team.

Anonymous said...

I saw one kick a baby.

Anonymous said...

Another one was inhaling a pizza on the bench

Anonymous said...

Real parents - what did you see/hear?

Anonymous said...

I saw one with cut off jeans on, but he seemed ok.

Anonymous said...

As entertaining as some of these comments are.  It was not nearly as bad as some are implying.  My niece plays for Old Bridge-and my daughter for another club.  Only 1 Ref was assigned to the game—and the ref  did not run more than 10 yards in either direction from midfield.  The game was a little physical but nothing malicious.  Yellows were given to 2 real players—although I think it was just the refs attempt to not let the game get out of hand.  Shortly after that, a real player was dribbling in the box and the Old Bridge keeper challenged.  Both kids went down.  The real parents let out a roar and the ref awarded real with a PK.  One of the Old Bridge coaches yelled at the ref that he let the real parents call the game for him and that the ref was out of position to see the play.  The old bridge position was that the real kid kicked the ball out of the keepers hand right before the collision.  I couldn’t see it from the view I had so I won’t give an opinion either way—I would have just said play on.  The PK was the difference in the game.  No kicking babies or eating pizzas—Although points for a funny post. I did hear parents from both sides complain about the refs lack of mobility

Anonymous said...

The difference in the game was Real actually play soccer.

Anonymous said...

That's a shame a bad call from the ref cost you the game. Never mind you couldn't mount an attack or actually possess the ball. Those bad refs!

Anonymous said...

That ref attempted but failed. He did cost the game. It happens.

Anonymous said...

Yes always laughable when " the ref. cost us the game"
refs make bad or miss calls every day at all levels, just part of the game.
Hey Real parents, how did you see the call?

Anonymous said...

It doesn't matter the game is over and so is the tournament. Real won and beat two quality teams in the process. Not a tournament loaded with top teams but still had to beat two pretty good teams. They came back from 1-0 deficits against Rush and in the final against ISA.

To straighten out a few posts on here the last few days:

PA Rush did not have 5 or 8 starters missing or whatever the story is now. They did however have two of their better players missing as confirmed by one of their parents. I'm sure that had an effect on them if true. In fairness though, Real played their game against PA Rush with 12 players so that's pretty much a wash.

The way Real and IGFA beat Rush, I'm not sure it would have mattered who was there or not.

PA Rush and Viper FC had cordial fans and coaches. Old Bridge had 3 coaches that scream their heads off all game, including talking about the opposing players and trashing them. SOME of their parents are just as out of control but some are also very nice.

The pk was a no-brainer call. Real girl dribbling in, OB keeper wipes her out, easy call. Of course the Real patents are going to react, who doesn't in that situation?

In reality, Real put tons of pressure on OB with OB making an occasional counter attack. I agree with the OB parent that the fact there was only one ref played a factor in the game getting out of control. The guy was probably on his 6th or 7th game with no linesman to help. Had there been linesman, at least 1 of the OB coaches would have been tossed.

IGFA must have just had a stinker against ISA. They were no doubt a better team. We were in shock when learned we were playing ISA and not IGFA in the finals.

All of the top clubs can say whatever you want, our kids played who was on their schedule and beat them all. The "little guys" got a shot to be top dogs for a weekend and the kids loved it. From what I can tell the earth is still on it's axis and were all still breathing today. Can't be that bad can it?

Anonymous said...

6:25 - how did the OB coaches trash opposing players? Like what comments were made?

I'm interested to know the type of people these coaches are.

Anonymous said...

Not going there. I know it makes it more "juicy" for the National Enquirer readers of this blog but it's not important. What's important is the OB soccer club doing something about it.

We have heard some of our girls talk about this site so there's no way we're going there with details. If people really don't think the kids go on this site, you're sadly mistaken. Maybe you should consider what your daughter would think of you before you type and hit send, or how you act at games.

Anonymous said...

OB Coach is the VP of travel at OB soccer club. That's how he gets away with it. What a joke. Horrible human being.

Anonymous said...

Sad when there people involved in youth sports that don't set a positive example not only for themselves, their families & players but the club they represent. Sad that this allowed to continue. What does it day about a club & the parents for that matter that would allow this to be their image? Never seen them play but heard about the coach or coaches & it was never positive. There are a lot if classy coaches in this age group so at least 1 bad apple won't spoil the bunch.

Anonymous said...

real parent here; everybody around the fields from different teams were nice only with OB we had some issues. Coaches were very angry and nasty during the entire game and i think it effected the parents.
ISA was a good team , we were surprised that IGFA was not in the final as we saw them playing before and they were a better team in my opinion. Anyway their coach came over after our final and complimented the girls and our coach as well as some of us parents. i saw all coaches being very classy and friendly with each other , PA rush and ISA as well, the only ones that were really bad were OB coaches, the way they present themselves is kind of scary to be honest.i agree that with three refs one of the coaches from OB would have been red carded.
good weekend for our team and happy for our girls.

Anonymous said...

anybody knows who is participating to FC stars of Mass tournament? which one do you think is best Spirit or FC STAR? lets talk about something else than OB coaches or past tournament

Anonymous said...

depends of who is participating in Mass.

Anonymous said...

Doesn't say which teams, but list of applied clubs to FC Stars is here -

http://www.starsofma.org/FCStarsTournaments/StarsCup/821999.html

Anonymous said...

FC Stars are an ECNL team therefore will draw the Breakers, PDA & other ECNL clubs so the level of teams should be high. Spirit also has a lot I too teams attending so both should be good as far as preseason tournaments.

Anonymous said...

Interesting read. Enjoy.

Predictions for NJ team flights for Spirit assuming 12 teams per flight.
Top flight:
SJEB, Brick and maybe Copa since they made NPL playoffs even if by default
Second:
REAL, maybe Holmdel and maybe GFA but I doubt it
Third:
Freehold, NJ Rush, maybe Jackson
Fourth or lower:
Wildcats, Wall, watchung and Stronghold.
Last:
PDA rec team and all the other nj entries.

Anonymous said...

Accepted at FC Stars:
http://www.starsofma.org/FCStarsTournaments/StarsCup/826759.html
Brick, Sta, Hornets, Stallions, Crush, Match Fit x 2 and TSF.
Thought TRIC would be there. Think they did last year and not at Spirit. Interesting.

Anonymous said...

By the way - Splash and Madrid probably aren't there because they are both at Eclipse next weekend. I think Madrid is way over their heads, but as a NJ supporter I genuinely wish them both the best of luck.

Anonymous said...

Has anyone seen the Spirit brackets? Are they up?

Anonymous said...

They are not posted yet

Anonymous said...

Heck the boys aren't even posted yet and they are a week earlier. Don't they usually at least post field assignments by age earlier.

Anonymous said...

No brackets yet. But there are a lot of very good teams that will be playing that weekend. It should be a very good event.

Can't wait to read the predictions that will be posted on this site.

Personally I will back the NJ teams, with the exception of a few, but I like to keep those thoughts as my own.

Thought that all U14 games will be at the same location. that is the way they ran it in past years.

For those that will be there good luck! Hope you enjoy watching your daughters compete and hopefully be successful.

Anonymous said...

There only two teams from NJ that have a shot in top bracket good luck to them

Anonymous said...

Why don't we all just be quiet and support all NJ teams in Spirit and FC Stars. It's about time we got behind our teams together rather than bash them.

Anonymous said...

Soccer Plus from Ct. gets kicked out of ECNL for being non-competitive in all age groups, replaced by FSA.

Anonymous said...

The Sixers better watch out or they're going to kicked out of the NBA.

Anonymous said...

Not exactly true only team kicked out of ECNL ever was Va Rushthis year. FSA and Soccer+ merged and FSA took the ECNL designation apparently.

Anonymous said...

I thought a NYE team was kicked out.

Anonymous said...

That might have been NPL.

Anonymous said...

Appears to be more like a hostile takeover as opposed to a merger. Either way, it's the right thing from a competitive standpoint. Soccer+ = awful, FSA = very competitive. Everybody wins.

Are there any tournaments this weekend......where?

Anonymous said...

Yes crusa in pa

Anonymous said...

MatchFit ECNL team has 31 on it's roster???

Anonymous said...

MF ECNL had a good showing at Crusa. They will be strong.

Anonymous said...

MF ECNL seems to have loaded up on a lot of quality new players. If they gel as a team they will be very competitive. Will be interesting to see how the do at Stars of Mass.

Anonymous said...

Match Fit beat NJ Stallions only 1-0? Match Fit has a long way to go & if they have 31 rostered then they will have bigger problems during the year. Wouldn't expect much @ FC Stars Cup.

Anonymous said...

Don't forget... Stallions are the next big team.

Anonymous said...

Stallions lost 5-1 to world class. Talk about a long way to go. That's embarrassing.

Anonymous said...

Stallions were out classed in that game and i am sure the Coach (S.C.) laid into them pretty good as the rest of the games were pretty close. Looks like they will heavily rely on the core of americans to a bulk of the workload until the rest of the original team gets up to speed

Anonymous said...

Now pretty close is acceptable? It about wins and losses.

Anonymous said...

cant tell if you are trying to stir the pot or not, but usually I would agree that pretty close is not good enough and it is about wins and losses, for those that think different as we go into U14...playing to develop is over it is about wins and losses.
this 1 day tournament was nothing more than getting the girls together after summer lay off. MF had close to 25 on their bench and half the girls guesting have no intention of joining the team. Bucks, WC and Stallion all have new girls on the squad looking to see where they fit within the team.

Anonymous said...

never was W's & L's, "personal development/continuous improvement", building your resume, ODP & ID2 regional/national pools, ability to compete "successfully" with the best, have fun doing it! ask any college coach

Flights coming today. Preliminary needs adjusted as freehold shown in top flight in same bracket as Copa. SJEB and brick also top flight.
Second has real, IGFA and Holmdel in separate brackets.
Third has Jackson and wildcats in same bracket alongside Rush, riptide and Moorestown(?) split in the other 3 brackets
Fourth has Marlton, Vernon, watching and PDA rec team spread across the four with wall, rage, mercer and rush south in the fifth.

Anonymous said...

They may not be the flights just how they got dropped in by Got Soccer. Where did you see these flights?

Anonymous said...

http://www.gotsport.com/asp/directors/tournament/vieweventteamscleanb.asp?EventID=38880&Group=Girls_14

The 9 through 12's were in since last week, so doubt it was just a dump in, but I'd be surprised if freehold is left up there. They should be third flight at best.

Anonymous said...

Freehold and Copa part two at Spirit & one ECNL team per Bracket I guess they want an ECNL final.

Anonymous said...

saw match fit playing this weekend , really good team with the new players . do not know why nobody is talking about them. i was impressed!

Anonymous said...

why 10:05 comment has been removed??

Anonymous said...

No one will discuss MF ECNL because we will not see them. They will hide behind the ECNL banner and train 2x a week, play ECNL games and then split that roster of 31 into two sides and scrimmage themselves all season long.

Anonymous said...

How are freehold in top bracket but GFA aren't?

Anonymous said...

Stars of Mass Cup- some excellent national/regional competition: Breakers, FC Stars, NEFC, NYSC, PDA (hornets?-not sure which one that is?), SLSG (Mo), South Shore...

Jersey sending Crush, Brick, Stallions, TSF and STA Morris.

http://www.starsofma.org/FCStarsTournaments/StarsCup/826759.html

Anonymous said...

2:39 do not start. You just want to create trouble as usual. GFA is not in the top bracket an nobody is expecting them to be. Whatever bracket they will end up it will be ok. So if you want to start trouble pick somebody else. As for freehold , I do not care so if they put them up there , good for them . Whatever the bracket I hope that NJ teams will do well and that all the girls will be playing gods games and will go through the tournament without injuries. By the way I know that next you are going to answer to your comment with another one to start additional trouble. So I suggest you stop already

Anonymous said...

Good games not gods games lol ( or maybe they will be gods games lol)

Anonymous said...

3:05 it was actually a genuine question. GFA is the better team, and had a much better U13 year than Freehold. Just wondering how FH make it in there.

Anonymous said...

2:31 PM - ECNL sounds like a pretty good place to "hide" if you are able to play PDA, MF, World Class, FC Bucks, FC Stars, CFC, Penn Fusion, FC Delco......on a regular basis. These teams would beat most of the so called top NJ teams on a regular basis if they played them on a regular basis. Training 2X per week and playing quality opponents on a regular basis sounds like a good thing. They will continue to get stronger as the top kids migrate to the clubs in each state. Over training and playing meaningless games amounts to nothing.

Anonymous said...

They moved Freehold down and GFA up. Freehold now in 2nd, GFA in 1st.

Anonymous said...

Actual flights now on website. GFA now flight 1 & Freehold 2. Some other moves too. GFA will get slaughtered.

Anonymous said...

gfa lost to a team in 3rd bracket 3-0 two weeks ago,why put them in 1st bracket?sad

Anonymous said...

they don't do it by a single result but the whole season + standings.

Anonymous said...

1st bracket, not 3rd. And 2:0 not 3:0.

Anonymous said...

You talk about GFA , what about PA rush that got killed by GFA and real couple of weeks ago? They are up there too. You have to look at the teams all together . Anybody in the second bracket better than the ones on top?

Anonymous said...

How are Wildcats in 3rd flight??? I agree IGFA won't get out of their bracket.

Anonymous said...

The team from ny crushed GFA ,they should be in top bracket not GFA .what did GFA win this season?tie for 5th in edp.should be in 2nd and that's because the rest very weak

Anonymous said...

MF talk?never on here, slick there one week and here we go.... Get ready MF parents

Anonymous said...

4:58 lol agreed

Anonymous said...

Slicks kid is on match fit?

Anonymous said...

4:28 - ISA beat GFA 3-0 at Maps Caps, and ISA are in THIRD bracket. Get it right.

Anonymous said...

4:28 true but not entirely, the won 2:0. If they put the wrong score and didnt fix is not important but if you want to get it right the score is 2:0. With that said ISA should be higher but if you look at single games then you'll never be able to make the brackets. One game doesn't determine the bracket .

Anonymous said...

You can see they split the states up as even as they could. There should be great competition in all flights.Lots of points to be had!

Anonymous said...

Cmon the mf team last season was never competitive with the top teams, yes this season's team maybe better time will tell. Again not from mf training but from "acquiring" top players trained elsewhere replacing players trained by mf. Make one of the top town teams part of this league and they would "acquire" the same kids and will have similar results for less $$. It would make a nice experiment. Dont worry at u16 the top players not currently in this league will move in and replace your daughters.

Anonymous said...

NJ road kill by flight:
Flight 1 GFA
Flight 2 Freehold (even in a weak bracket)
Flight 3 all but Rush (they got a gift bracket)
Flight 4 all NJ teams will have bad weekend

Could be a tough day for some NJ, but Barons, Real and Rush will look good where they were placed. Could see Barons, Real and Rush in their flight finals. Brick and Copa fall short. Stronghold and Holmdel really not a contenders but shouldn't get embarrassed. Brick is a toss up how they fare - I think they will fall short.

Anyone else have opinions?

Anonymous said...

Brick will have two ties and they think that is a win....

Anonymous said...

Win=3 pts
Tie=1 pt
Therefore 3 ties=win

Anonymous said...

How about we just root for ALL of the Jersey teams too fare well, is that so hard?

Anonymous said...

The 1st, 3rd and 4th flights should each have a NJ team in the finals.

Anonymous said...

Overall, the level of competition is not as high as expected. Where's the rest of the premier league teams? Where's breakers or nefc? Stars must be drawing teams away. No NE teams at all this year. Only challenge to Nj is developing ECNL squads who are trying to position new players. Should play out well for NJ squads especially how spread out they are - quite a few weak brackets.

Anonymous said...

glad MF added some new talent. They needed it for sure. That current crop that they trained for three years was not cutting it. Maybe some well trained new blood will help. Typical MF though. Bring in talent already trained and say you developed it.

Anonymous said...

Learned that technique from PDA. The D stands for delusional if you think they develop. That's the plan for ECNL and NPL - draw the talent to the exclusionary league to promote the business model.
They claim they are trying to make ECNL free with corporate sponsorship, but it will just be funded by the rest of US Club teams if they try it.

Anonymous said...

7:55 - Stars is the week after. Maybe some teams just wanted another week of training before stepping on the field for the new season.

This year FC Stars is the strongest its ever been.

Anonymous said...

Any match fit parents here? Curious as to what the final tally is of # of players on roster for the fall? Hearing some crazy numbers hoping for a clarification.

Anonymous said...

USYSA has Stallion listed in National league, how is this possible? Use his U17 Dynamite team as leverage? Embarrassing for that league. Stallions 5th in Colonial league last year, added Americans but nothing to support their inclusion in that league. Joke

Anonymous said...

ODP in the past accepted the best of the best (for the most part); too many parents cried their star did not make it. So ECNL /NPL saw a business opportunity and made a league for these crying parents. Idea: Let’s make it exclusive.. so parents will always believe their kid is a top player. Oh yeah, they will pay big $$ for this illusion. In turned actually watering down ODP and their own ECNL /NPL leagues. So now instead of the best of the best playing & developing with each other, we have the best with some very good/players playing with each other. This will hurt USA overall development and all for a buck; not for the top kids best interest. I feel bad for all the kids who were given false promises when they get passed at u16 for the actual top players; again just to make a buck.

Anonymous said...

10:03am - gotsoccer roster comparison shows 10 Americans on updated Stallions roster - based on continuity requirement of 9 players, maybe using Americans record but Stallions name?

They would need a lot of good additions not Force players that were at the bottom of that roster to get better. They have never really played the game just rely on big athletes & play kickball most of the game.

MF ECNL in top bracket at FC Stars... Going to be a nice wake-up call.

Anonymous said...

A lot of assumptions being made about a lot of teams. Bottom line is some got stronger and some didn't. We will know more in the next few weeks.

Anonymous said...

Please hold all the bs until after the tourney.

10:17 Non ECNL Team tuitions are around 2k plus another 1.5k for ODP - I don't think ECNL/NPL tuition is at 3.5k.

Non ECNL teams travel to Jefferson, Disney, Delco, Bethesda - so there is travel and overnight stays for the Non-ECNL teams as well.

ECNL/NPL is not closed to players. If a player has the goods they will make a team. The leagues are closed to Individual Teams as It should be. Why do Individual teams want in if everything is supposed to be about development and not results?

The reason we don't have the best of the best playing each other is because we have to much hate. We have a league for ODP type players to play in all year round. All they have to do is tryout and they are in if they are good. Very simple, the best playing against each other at training and on the weekends in games. This would help US soccer as our u20's were handed a 2-0 loss to Germany yesterday.

There is no reason to be sad for the players being replaced. All they can do is tryout for a team they don't control who will be at tryouts later. If the better players come along isn't that the name of the game - no loyalty - just skills.

ECNL closed system restricting individual teams is definitely not in the best interest of the girsl it Most definitely IS in the best interest of all those whose pockets are being lined as a result. Until parents wake up and demand change this process will continue .
The pro/ rel system is the ONLY fair, system.

Most of you sound as if you and your kid are afraid of competition. If your kid really wants to or is capable of playing college soccer they will have to deal with large rosters and coaches looking for ways to add stronger players as soon as they arrive. This is reality. Small rosters and having your kid play with all her friends is a thing of the past. The top teams will / should have 18-24 kids and they will have to fight each week to dress for games. If your kid is good enough this should not be an issue. Paying your tuition and buying your kid a new pair of cleats should not amount to playing time.

Anonymous said...

2:45, you are part of the problem with youth sports. Your line of thinking for pre teens is crazy.

Anonymous said...

Brick Fury still overrated.

Added some new players from NJ Force, but they will be brought down by that coaches style of play. Team has always had athlete's but don't seem to hold unto the good soccer players. They are from NJ so will wish them well in the first two tourney's. Let's see if the new players can have the positive effect on style of play.

Anonymous said...

2;45 is spot on. Sports are a competition. Most are going into 8th or 9th grade and should understand what it means to earn something. Best kids will play going forward on top teams. This is obviously not the environment for all. Small rosters and equal playing time will not work for top teams. Injuries will happen and the competitive environment will make good players better.

Brick comment is funny as they have lost 2 players to GFA which is a backwards move & the one player has been on 4 different teams since leaving after U-10 so not sure where you get your facts. Core has been the same since U-8 & have played short handed due to injuries the past year & half & still compete so surely you' re just a hater.

Anonymous said...

And you just the coach! You are so obvious....What a shame....or sham you are

Anonymous said...

We have played Brick many times over the years & never did I think they were a team full of athletes. They have a handful of skilled players mixed in with average at best players & no goaltending to speak of so I give them tons if credit competing against the top teams with depth & being always in the game. Now with what sounds like some added better players I'm interested to see what they can do with talent.

Anonymous said...

Random Brick comment clearly smells of teams with an agenda who always gets mentioned on here as not a very good team. Comment listing Brick as athletes smells like Freehold comment. You connect the dots. Why we feel the need to bash due to jealousy us actually embarrassing to yourself & the team you represent. I too riot for all the NJ teams except when they play our team. I too would compliment Brick & name our team but then that would lead to attacks on our team even though we don't discuss anyone else.

Anonymous said...

Why is Brick on the defensive, they always compete, the comment seemed to be about the style of play and that they had athletes. Who cares if someone has this opinion? Unless it struck a cord with you.....................

I'm sure all of the coaches connections will help them as they look to be seen by college coaches.....................

Anonymous said...

Well said teams that have had success shouldn't care about what others who are most likely jealous day. Nobody gets attacked more then PDA & do you think it maters to them? People will always attack so let them just be miserable as everyone knows who does well & who doesn't do a good job.

You have freehold as possible winner. I'm not sure they will get by Ldc or Dc Stoddert.

Anonymous said...

How big is Bricks roster if they only lost 3 players since u8?

Anonymous said...

I think the point was 3 players left since U-8 that we're not cut. Clearly had room to add as when we played them they had only 12 players.

I think it's bs if Stallions are in region 1 because they have 10 girls from the Americans. Someone should look into that, the Americans folded the team did not go to Stallions just some. If they allow that it's wrong. Stallions should not be allowed tp take that spot.

MF is now the team to beat, with the new addition of the past two weeks now they are very strong, player makes a huge difference bringing top quality. Go MF!

Anonymous said...

If one player makes such a difference, you must be a very weak team. Literally, team to beat.

Anonymous said...

Prediction MF won't win a game @ FC Stars remember you heard it here 1st. Too many cast offs & people who believe their daughter is the next coming & with 30 players rostered parents who will cause problems when their kid isn't rostered. Let the in fighting begin.

Anonymous said...

9:42pm -- It is BS ... BUT as a strategy for completing the National League application and selling the team's resume, it's not a bad tactic. And, if that's what it is, it was successful compared to whatever other applications they reviewed. U14 is the only division with so many "open" spots selected from applications, so they'll have to earn their way back in for future years.

Anonymous said...

where is region 1 accepted teams list?

Anonymous said...

USYS National League teams
http://www.usyouthsoccer.org/national_league/201415_national_league_teams/#U14G

Anonymous said...

Stallions not Region 1 league but the National league. What a shame for some teams who really deserve the spot. Let's see how long the Americans deal with the screaming of SC. Expect turnover by mid year.

Anonymous said...

The Americans were Premier League not National League so why do you say they took Americans spot?

Anonymous said...

Fully doubt MF has 30 rostered can someone confirm this? If so feel bad for 18-30. And their parents wallet. Ouch.

Anonymous said...

multiple names are on the list double. NOT 30

Anonymous said...

Confirmed 30 players to bounce back & forth between ECNL & NPL teams.

Anonymous said...

What other team from NJ applied for a National league spot and was denied

Anonymous said...

MF ECNL GotSoccer page - https://home.gotsoccer.com/rankings/team.aspx?TeamID=713901

31 players on roster.

Anonymous said...

Omfg l just followed the link to the MF page., I can't stop laughing. Are people really that stupid? Someone explain how this is good for girls soccer?

Anonymous said...

Good for the wallets but not the players which no one cares about. Very sad the direction of youth sports these days.

Anonymous said...

Stallions are looking at burning out those kids. If they do the USYS national league, EDP, NPL,are headed to FC Stars tourney, WAGS tourney, propbably have state cup also.

This team will be a nightmare to schedule games with or worse reschedule and make up a game.

Anonymous said...

Can someone form Match fit explain how this bill of goods was sold to you?

Anonymous said...

Does anyone know who is playing at the STA tournament?

Anonymous said...

Why would anyone care about the STA tournament. No decent team will go there.

Anonymous said...

Funny thing about Stallions is last years team thought they were going to have SC coaching them. He was to busy with his older girls. He is a good salesman lets see if he steps up this year and shows up to any of the games.
