Why would you want interest from a coach to drive such an important decision as where to get a college education?

You and your kid should do the work of researching great college fits and then you should use your soccer resume to pursue the school, not the other way around.

Anonymous said...

I am sure this is the way most do it

But sometimes a coach can bring to light an opportunity that IS a great fit but hasn't been considered

Anonymous said...

Unsolicited interest from a coach might be flattering and may come with some $$$$$, but if the only thing they know about a kid is that they are a great soccer player, the possibility that it is a match made in heaven seems remote.

How's that going for you?

We are good thank you very much . We finally got some players out of the team that were trouble ( goalie etc) and now we are stronger than ever . You will see at Jeff Cup . We will be champion AGAIN since we won there also last year. Only NJ team that won

Anonymous said...

I guess this qualifies as Copa wishing their former GK well

Anonymous said...

FYI all brackets are very strong at the Jefferson Cup. They reject too many teams for it to be weak. Last year copa played flight 6 and GFA flight 5 and both played some very tough highly ranked competitive teams. Look for yourself if you don't believe. Any team travelling to Jeff Cup for any flight will get good competition.

Anonymous said...

Is that what your coach is convincing you that it is worth traveling all they way to VA even if you play 5th & 6th flight competition? Next year when you are showcase age you think they will come watch teams playing in that low of flights? Also seeing how many ECNL & NPL teams are 4th flight & below shows you how much they think of all the teams in those leagues but I'm sure their coaches are telling them too how important it is to play in those leagues if they want to be seen. Keep buying what they are selling instead of educating yourselves as they are counting on that.

Still waiting 956 for you to enlighten us as to the whereabouts of these wunderkinds you have referenced who pose a threat to my child's roster spot. Could potentially spark more interesting discussion. As to 353, good luck with your gamble and enjoy watching your kid tear up the travel leagues. I hope your gamble pays off and she ultimately realizes her dreams- God

Anonymous said...

Can all posters with kids playing on travel teams please stop posting here. You may only read and learn. Don't you know that this game is about WHERE your kid plays, not HOW your kid plays?

Anonymous said...

You can post, but for a change try and post something intelligent instead of "this coach is terrible" and "this team is better than that team" and "that kid isn't really that good...

Anonymous said...

Yes. Opinion and commentary on the quality and competitiveness of coaches, players, and teams is reserved for posters involved with programs that cost a minimum of $2000 per year excluding travel and some payers must travel a minimum of 30 miles to practice.

Anonymous said...

If you find that type of conversation interesting then carry on. The more global discussions regarding youth soccer development, recruiting process for kids about to enter high school, and questions asking for direction to optimize their child's experience and opportunities are more interesting to me. Especially since this is supposed to be a region 1 forum and not a NJ travel league poke at each other forum. Maybe the moderator should separate the 2 so you can carry out discussion that interests you without being bothered by those who wish to discuss more global youth soccer issues pertaining to children of this age and gender.

Anonymous said...

No interest in bashing teams or players whatsoever. Arrogant and superior attitudes from posters in the business of high level club soccer deserve some push back.

One topic of interest in this state is how to "optimize the experience and opportunities" for talented players operating with a travel soccer budget as opposed to an expensive club budget. Play in the ECNL or go bust is useless advice for most families in this state regardless of the skill and interest level of their players.

Anonymous said...

What specifically embodies the optimal experience that you seek? Some possibilities: Fun for the player and family? Achieving her personal highest possible level of play? Admission into the best academic college possible? Matriculation to college as cheaply as possible? Play soccer in the most competitive college environment possible? Play professionally (yes I know there's no money, but it still might be the objective of some players)? USWNT? I am sure there other possibilities.

There will be different paths depending on the end each player and her family seeks. Narrow it down a bit and there is a great topic for sure.

Anonymous said...

A coach from a high level program inquires about a talented player on the opposing travel team when they have an occasion to compete. This player has been with this team for several years and has been taught to play by her travel coach (hired coach - not a parent).

If the travel team path is really so inferior , how can this player have developed enough to be desired by a high level program?

Anonymous said...

girl could have naturally talent that comes through either because of or inspire of what coach is doing and now its time to play with like players

Anonymous said...

inspite

Anonymous said...

But why now? On the U11 board, they can it must be at U11. ON the U12 board, U12 or its too late. U13 is the same story.

Anonymous said...

For sure at u 14 a talented coach and a motivated, athletic player in combination can put together an ECNL or premier level kid. Even an impact player. No one said otherwise. The point was that if she stays playing for this coach her opportunities will likely decrease with time. At least in part from exposure. You said one kid. Likely this kid stuck out because the others were comparably weak. Her development though likely to continue may not at the same pace she would if she was training with and against similar kids. The travel coach should recognize the limitations of his program, be proud of what they accomplished together and encourage her to continue to challenge herself to achieve whatever is possible. That actually happens...

Looks like tsf was sent down a division by Edp. Coach got what he deserved for refusing to play GFA.

Anonymous said...

What happened to NJX?? Got moved down to 2nd division now...Should have moved under MFA and will now slowly decline especially moving into the HS years!! Are those three parent coaches still on the sideline or did they wake up and bring in someone who knows how to coach??

Anonymous said...

Will the STA girls be returning to MF practice again this week? Will more come now that they have lost their coach again?

Anonymous said...

MF will take them all , promise the world and divide them between 3 teams. STA was on the down fall and I guess this confirms it. Lots of money spent for players that now have to find a new home or stay with what will probably become just an average team. MF could def benefit, with a few nice players.

Anonymous said...

Revolving door for coaches and players. 4th coach in 12 months.

Which MF team were the STA players training with? ECNL, NPL, EDP?

Anonymous said...

The ECNL team.

Anonymous said...

I have a question. I hear of other girls leaving teams during the season. We have an opportunity to move our daughter now to a better team they will player better competiton than ours. Our coach told us that he irony release another player until the end of the season. Some girls left us in the fall. Can he make us stay until the end of the season? We want to leave our team now.

Anonymous said...

You can leave at anytime. All you have to do is talk to you new club and have them re-card you. Your new DOC should be able to walk you through the process. You are not under contract with any team. It is a bit harder if the previous club does not release you but it still can be done.

Anonymous said...

There is not such middle of the season thing. You can leave when you want following what you think is right for your daughter. Might lose some money if you are in a club that makes sure you pay in advance.

Anonymous said...

You can leave whenever you want. The only thing you can't do is go from one ECNL roster to another in midseason, or at least you cannot play in any ECNL league games or events until the following fall. You can probably play in non-ecnl events, tournaments, friendlies, etc in the spring.

Anonymous said...

Coach told us that his decision was final and he would release players at end of season. Thanks for the advice. I will talk to the DOC at our new club. Glad to get away from a coach who is afraid to play games and wastes our time.

Anonymous said...

"We want to leave our team now"

You are what is wrong with youth soccer.

Anonymous said...

Coaches can leave when it is good for them. Teams can add players as they want. Remember this is a business and they want your check.

Why would a player not be able to leave when it is good for them.

If your team is in transition or they are not providing a good environment for your kid why would you stay. Do whats best for your kid.

Anonymous said...

STA being placed in the bottom flight of Jeff Cup cant be helping them retain players after another coach has left.

Anonymous said...

STA also dropped to 2nd division in EDP with Holmdel & TSF.

Anonymous said...

STA still vying for a bid to Nationals

Anonymous said...

Can anyone tell us about the new STA coach? Is she not well liked? With players back from injuries do they not have a decent team?

Anonymous said...

The coach is probably not the problem. Probably plenty qualified. Its the uncertainty of the team, players and coach. Third coach in less then a year. Tough fall season, and top players being offered roster spots elsewhere. Im sure they will get through the spring but the top two or three players will probably be gone before that. They will probably move a few B players up and if they don't do well as a team they will probably loss more players. Teams will be all over trying to grab some of them.

Anonymous said...

MF perfect for sta kids,MF full of kids that can notmake PDA and full of castoffs from pda bteam waste of money with 30 plus kids. Good luck with that. !!!

Anonymous said...

You have said it yourself - Match Fit doesnt have to be tremendous in W-L just yet

Anonymous said...

So just using STA as an example, is it beneficial for a player to leave a team like this where she gets tremendous playing time to join a more well-known team and play half a game or even less? Maybe even doesn't even dress at an ECNL team with 25 on the roster?

Anonymous said...

anybody still on sta should jump if they can,MF not the place to go,filled with kids that cant make pda and a bunch of pda castoffs from the b&c teams...

Anonymous said...

In order to get better as a player, your needs to play with like minded players and actually play for 75% of the game.

If your daughter is a good solid player that is what you should be looking for.

Clubs like PDA are great if you are going to play a significant amount of the game. if not - don't bother. Better to pick an ECNLor other high level team where the coaching is stable and your daughter will get significant playing time. check their recruitment history before joining any team.

Anonymous said...

If you are looking to leave you should evaluate your current team. What are they doing or have done with the older teams they have. Are they getting into the right events? Are they able to maintain rosters with little turnover? Is the current team developing and playing strong competition. It is not only about what is going now. You need to look at what will potentially take place in the very near future.

Then look at all of your options with other clubs and evaluate them the same way.

Keep in mind the majority of the information on here is wrong and based on assumptions not facts.

If I was in a situation that was not stable I would explore options because you can bet others on the team are as well. This is a year for a lot of change. Many teams will not be the same as they are today due to people coming and going.

Anonymous said...

3:14 tell your coach that his decision about release means nothing. It is your decision that counts. You can leave at any time.

Anonymous said...

As most of the players are heading to high school, can anyone comment how girls in EDP, NPL and ECNL juggle high school sports? Is it possible to play a winter high school sport? What about a spring sport like Soft Ball or Lacrosse that has daily practices and evening games? I'm sure many of your girls are gifted athletes in more than one sport.

Anonymous said...

Depends on the team. Most allow high school soccer. Largely take the fall off. maybe practice on Sundays. Winter possibly doable. I do not see a spring sport as tenable. The kid will not have time for homework as the spring is the big showcase or ECNl season and many of these teams are active 4 days/week. We realized too late with one of our kids that the pull coaches have with admissions was not as great as we had hoped. Grades limited some of her choices.

Anonymous said...

Winter sport has some conflict as the club soccer season starts after high school and you will play games in Nov, early Dec, and potentially travel over Christmas to NPL or Disney tourney in Florida. You will miss a bunch of HS sport during this time.

Spring is almost impossible to pull off. Not sure how a child has time to play HS sport 5-6 days a week and club soccer 4-5 days a week and STUDY. Not to mention the extreme wear and tear you are putting on the players body.

This is why you will see some kids step away from soccer as they would rather play high school sports, get a job, hang with friends more, etc.....

Sit out rules only apply to NJYS which no one will play games under in the spring. No sit out issue under US Club

Anonymous said...

NJYS is useless . All top teams play under us club. And if she is not happy she can leave

Anonymous said...

US club will let you leave and play, they do not care. You are not setting the right example however. That is your choice and it is just my opinion.

Anonymous said...

I can't believe people still have an issue. Leave STA for what? Why do you care? Grow up once and for all. Don't assume every kid wants what you think is right. From reading what some of you have posted over the years you are crazy. Not every kid wants to jump from team to team or be on a team with a roster of 20+ kids. Some kids are very content with the solid training and development. Let's also consider the relationships with coaches. A number of them are heading off to coach solid college programs. I've been saying it for years. I feel sorry for your daughters.

I agree, however, many of these teams have mediocre coaches and cost premium dollars. A lot of these parents are finding this out right now.

STA coaching is a crap shoot at best.

The coach who had this age group was good but a maniac.( he was a big draw for the club) Most stayed because they were loyal.

Not many places to go as most of the teams here up North have their own coaching issues.

Your only choices for high level soccer is World, Match fit , Crush, PDA.,Stallions

World and PDA are probably best options at this age group. however, in order to get the playing time, you must be a piece that the coaches are looking for

Matchfit is having all kinds of issues.

Coached by DOC but team is unstable and they do not play the prettiest soccer. Also roster is huge.

Crush has very mediocre coaching and the club let this team drop years ago. Epitome of smash mouth over the top english soccer.

Stallions club although long standing, it lacks depth.

Coach is a proven commodity but has bad "bedside" manner. He can be difficult to play for.

There is no perfect world in the north.

You may be better going South and find a team like GFA-which has there own parental issues but at least they are a tight nit group.

or venture further North to NYSC.

Good luck to your daughter,

If you can find her a home that she likes and a quality coach, you have struck Gold.

Anonymous said...

Based on the comment of the parents that wants to leave I think I know which team his daughter plays. There is only one team in NJ where the coach is afraid to play games.. If I am right leave as soon as possible and do not listen to your coach silly bs . You can leave whenever you want . Good luck

Anonymous said...

Sounds like STA and TSF are having trouble keeping players.

Anonymous said...

Surprised? Sta is finished and without proper coach. Tsf is a mediocre team with a coach that should work recreational.

Anonymous said...

STA is finished? Oh thanks for the heads up. I'll alert the club that some no life jackass is an expert on U14 soccer. Would love to show your family what you do all day. Wouldn't they be proud.

Anonymous said...

ok then tell me , at the end of last season the second team played the last few games of EDP, the coach left, half of the team is at Match Fit practices, the other half is around shopping different teams.
please tell me if all of these are no signs of a team in a hole about to fold.
before you insult people check the reality. this is my opinion based on facts that i see.

Anonymous said...

98% that visit this board know not to be swayed by you yahoos.

STA in a first place tie to get to a National in Indiana. I am sure they are working hard through the winter.

Anonymous said...

It's my experience that people only talk about other clubs because they are jealous they can't be on them. Who cares. Worry about your own kid. STA lost kids last year not this year. They had a lot of injuries in the fall but should be back to a full roster soon. Best of luck to all the teams in the spring.

Anonymous said...

It sounds like parents trying to earnestly warn other parents about the crappy coaching that a lot of these clubs try to get away with.

Anonymous said...

I guess the coaching at Brick was only great when you were there.

Anonymous said...

Nobody from Brick would make a mean spirited comment about any of their players, so don't pretend to be a Brick parent you classless idiot. You are a coward hiding behind the anonymous name tag.

Anonymous said...

Seriously…Having to experience this for the first time what is a parent supposed to do with their child who wants to get better. Play on a lower level team at U15 and hope they improve with less interested players or try and move to a higher level team and hope she improves surrounded by more interested ones. Also, when is the appropriate time to contact coaches to see if she can attend practices to try and find that team? Is it now? Or since they don’t really play in the fall can you do it over the summer? Just curious to hear from people that have experienced this and either learned by their mistakes or successes. I believe there are many parents that aren’t sure and are reaching out because they believe there is a small window of opportunity to improve their child’s situation and that makes this a silly time of year.

Anonymous said...

9:49 the time to reach out is now. Coaches are looking at kids every week. The sooner you make a move the more time your child has to adjust to the new team. If you are moving up in competition the speed of play will be something they need to adjust to. The longer you wait the harder it will be for them to break into a team and get significant playing time. Not much will happen on the fall. If you wait until then you are basically wasting another season. Keep in mind this needs to be your child's decision and not just yours. If she is not fully committed to mSking a change , leaving her friends , sacrificing playing time , changing positions and starting over than you could be setting her up for a rough time. Look at all of your options and make sure your child knows exactly what they are getting into.

Anonymous said...

Agreed. The time to reach out is now. Players schedules are usually more free now so it is easier for them to got check out a few teams and start to identify which teams you might want to play for.

Anonymous said...

There could be a major mix up with teams possibly going to birth year next year. Might be both ECNL and NPL. I think EDP has some birth year programming for boys to -no? 01's will be u14 again and 00 u15. Might want to ask some questions of the team your child is visiting to see if they expect to change their cutoffs next year. ECNL almost certainly will.

Anonymous said...

That should be a tremendous boost for some (Jan-July birth) players

Anonymous said...

Only the new girls development Academy system will use birth year for teams. This certainly dissolve ECnl. All other leagues will most likely stay in place as it is with the same August 1 to July 31 year for carding purposes

Anonymous said...

I see Holmdel talked their way back into the 1st division Central. Didn't they learn in the fall that they don't belong with the top teams?

Funny to see the same person commenting on NJX being put back in the 1st division. If I'm not mistaken your team didn't do very well there last year either. So, you did well 2nd division now your in the 1st again. only time will tell. You really should just sign your name because everyone knows who you are. It's called NO life!!

Anonymous said...

Whats the point of having division, if you cry hard enough you get put were you want?
If you do well you move up if you dont you move down and have to re earn your spot.
Doesnt that make sense?
EDP doesnt look good by moving those teams back up. Total joke!!

Anonymous said...

How did TSF move back up to 1st division? They refused to play last game of year and our team was tied with them in points and beat them head to head so we should have been moved up but were left in the 2nd division. That's not right at all.

Anonymous said...

All this talk will be moot when the birth year mandate comes out from US club soccer this spring and all the teams will either be shaken up or playing "up"

Anonymous said...

8:44 not going to happen.

Only the new Academy League would do this and it will be amazing if this actually gets off the ground anytime soon.

Doubtful anything will change over the next few years.

Anonymous said...

Where can you get a list of the teams invited to the Bethesda friendly's?

Anonymous said...

My guess would be that TSF moved up because the bridgewater team more than likely asked to be kept in the 2nd division, so they had to replace them in 1st division and TSF has a strong relationship with the league. As for NJX And Stronghold, who know's, but who cares, just look out for your own team.

This year could be tough for a lot of teams, more will fold and the consolidation will continue, it is just a fact. Hopeful that it will work out for everyone.

Anonymous said...

Maybe some teams were happy to have NJX out - now have to deal with them again

Anonymous said...

EDP Central 1st Division lost a MD & PA team therefore Stronghold moved up & NJX moved back up. Whether you agree or not they are probably the best teams that would have played in the 2nd flight which is why they were most likely moved up. NJX isn't any different then Freehold who keeps staying in despite poor results so just worry about your own team. Its very sad that there is a Mom or Dad out there that puts down other peoples children, you should all be ashamed.

here is something to think about when you make those statements and this is going to kill you.

My daughter is a better player and scholar than your daughter. hands down no doubt.

She has already been selected as a National pool player by the USSF.

And she has skipped a grade and is doing advanced mathematics in school. Its pretty easy to verify if you know the national pool players in this area. And No she will not be playing in that tournament.

I think the listing of ECNL players that signed the letter of intent is way more impressive than national team "pool"...In the end what will service your child better. soccer as a tool to get into college or trying to make it at that level, especially if you read the following quote
"National Women’s Soccer League season, league executive director Cheryl Bailey said players’ salaries will range from $6,000-$30,000."

Anonymous said...

I am more impressed with a player selected to National Team Pools within reason. (I assume there is corruption there as seems to be prevelant in soccer).

Plays ECNL now but was found by us soccer in the EDP. If your daughter trains hard ,plays hard & has the skills she will be noticed.

Is it true that the wildcats play the same girls every game? Hearing that there are girls on the bench that are better. Was thinking of moving my daughter there. Roster 21?

Wildcats play some of the girls on both the U14 & U15 teams on the same day . So you have a shot of playing twice or sitting on the bench twice.

One other plus you could double up on training days so your daughter might get lots of touches if the practices are good.

Do you like to answer yourself?

Aren't the Wildcats in MOSA or did they move on to JAGS?

Anonymous said...

I love the Wildcats, Zach Efron is the best.

Anonymous said...

What does that mean 206?

Anonymous said...

Is it true that the wildcats play the same girls every game? Hearing that there are girls on the bench that are better. Was thinking of moving my daughter there. Roster 21?

above was the post. Do you really think that someone is thinking of bringing their daughter there and believes these issues exist? NO. Someone currently on the team KNOWS this is the case (at least for their daughter) and is trying to stir the pot. Don't try to defend it, just know your game is a poor one.

I am a Wildcats parent and my daughter plays on the U14G team. Whoever is posting that players are benched or don't see the field is strongly mistaken...All girls play in every game and we have the bonus of being rostered and playing up as well with the U15G each weekend. This most be postings from a parent who either got cut from the team or not playing with us anymore, or our friends at NJX that just love to pour more salt and cry the blues as a few of their players left and came to the Wildcats program. Sorry people!! We are very happy with the Wildcats program and the coaching and player development. If you are hearing things and want to come check it out for yourself, get in touch with our DOC and come for a few training sessions. Worse thing to do is listen to anybody on this site and come see for yourself. We don't roster 25-30 players either. Most rosters are 17-18 players tops. Good luck to all team this spring/summer...Cheers!

Wildcats program is very good people. My daughters has flourished there as a player and now a young mature adult. The Wildcats are an NPL club and play in both leagues NPL/EDP U13-18 at a very HIGH level. In the summer for the older teams they have the opportunity to play on the women's "W" team or U23 with college players. Funny whoever posted JAGS or MOSA...You people don't have a clue so keep hating the Academy teams and see what happens to most of the town teams come U15-18..There will be very few town teams left at the older age groups as the better players will be looking to leave to play for the higher level Academy teams to prepare to play in college if they want to go in that direction...

First of all, I am not a parent from NJX I was looking to move my daughter towards the south. From reading this I will stay away apparently there are issue from the previous post. Must be a former NJX parent. Thank You!

Anonymous said...

So the Wildcats wont exist is what you are saying as they are NOT an academy team.

Anonymous said...

Can't take anymore drama! Good luck Wildcats. And no they are not academy.

Anonymous said...

I am in the wildcats program and all I'm saying is be careful, I just found out recently that there are a bunch of girls that joined my daughters team recently and pay half of what I pay. Not happy!

Anonymous said...

They are only playing half a year

Anonymous said...

That seems like a logical answer but KM has a history of making up prices.

Anonymous said...

DOC known for making up different rules for different families based on ability. This is one of just many reasons not be happy there.

Going back to Manhattan tournament. Any of our daughters, that play EDP/Regional and play on those fields for 80 minutes each match, tournaments in 30 degree weather, in pouring teeming rain, God bless them and keep them. They are all champions in my eyes, no matter if KOC, STA, even local tournaments. Each of them need to be strong minded, strong willed, play physical and be physically prepared. And heck yes I tell my daughter that every day.

Regarding the WC payment system. I have heard, many, many clubs/coaches will do this to entice or keep players. honestly if you have a great striker or full back or even keeper, why not discount them to play with you. If it benefits the team, the club, the player, then it certainly benefits the other players who may be paying more. thoughts on that thinking, trying to see both sides of course. I do spend thousands per year with two kids in maps/edp. lol

Anonymous said...

@10:07 does my last statement make sense? I have certainly not been beneficiary of this with my kids, but kind of makes sense. It is like a way to "pay" a player to play with you. When coaches do private training, does that kid play more because of that? Is that fair? Some will say that is not fair, but what if the kid is listening to the coach and in the coaches eyes they are better. Then you find out they are paying $90 per week for private training. Yes, I have been there and done that one.

Anonymous said...

No it does not make sense.

Anonymous said...

You also have players that train for free with other groups, so if coach is holding a U11 session at 6-7, he would invite his u13 to the 6-7 because U13 is training from 7-8 - that is very common, and really not fair to the U11 group. it goes on and on, politics are thick and deep within clubs

Anonymous said...

Horrible example. You can justify all you want, you are wrong.

Anonymous said...

KM is all about the money. He has been for years. He will bring in girls at a discount then if they don't live up to their talent either cuts them or charges them full boat next season. Be aware

Anonymous said...

worst business person alive. His success, if you want to call it that, is based on the fact that players and families age out and he always has new families to prey upon.

Anonymous said...

why all of the talk about Wildcats -

Who cares -

Why do you find the need to defend your choice of where your daughter plays. It is not necessary, just let it go.

Manhattan tournament cancelled?

Anonymous said...

Manhattan tournament definately in jeopardy of cancellation.

Anonymous said...

Let's hope

Anonymous said...

Why cancelled. Fields are clear

Anonymous said...

How could the fields possibly be cleared from the last snowfall? If they do manage to clean some turf fields up then they will likely only play the older college showcase brackets.

Anonymous said...

Manhattan schedule out, finally!

Anonymous said...

What a joke they are! !!!!

Anonymous said...

Why are they a joke?

Anonymous said...

Why? Because it's obvious some teams are in over their heads. It's blatantly obvious to all that know the age group. It's going to be back to reality for a lot of coaches/parents right off the bat.

Anonymous said...

Splash will win easy their group, Manhattan and COPA the two favorite in the other group.

Anonymous said...

it will more than likely be cancelled, more storms are on their way!

Anonymous said...

GFA the favorite in the other flight, not Copa.

Anonymous said...

You have to kidding that Brick is in the THIRD flight. They are better than any of the teams in the second flight. That's insane

Anonymous said...

Brick will win every game.

Anonymous said...

brick in third flight at jeff cup also, seems to be where they belong, cant win outside of nj

Anonymous said...

I think these flights are subject to change

Anonymous said...

Who won nj indoor state cup?

Anonymous said...

Why storm so high?

Anonymous said...

Don't understand Manhattan flights? Same teams at Jeff Cup that are in top flights in Manhattan are Stallions(3rd), Lower Merion & Copa(4th), Crush(5th) & Manhattan(7th) yet these are top flight teams in Manhattan??? Whoever does these flights has no idea about this age group.

Anonymous said...

Better teams at Jeff Cup and Manhattan always gets to pick their spot in their tournament. Brick should be higher, they have beaten every team above them.

Anonymous said...

Manhattan flights need to be fixed

Suggest swapping nj crush out of top bracket with brick in 3rd bracket

Humeville does not belong in 2nd bracket

Why does one of the second brackets have three teams from Edp north division. These teams play in same division. So much for tournaments trying to he you new competition.

Holmdel needs to go down

Old bridge should be in bottom fligjt

World class npl team is to low

:brick in third flight at jeff cup also, seems to be where they belong, cant win outside of nj"

Brick is the ONLY team that is consistently in top flights out of state. The teams above them don't win anything out of state either, and certainly not anything in top flight. They've defeated (sometimes easily) teams above them. Manhattan coordinators are clueless.

Opinions of NJ Indoor State Cup today?

Anonymous said...

No one cares about indoor state cup.

Anonymous said...

When was the state cup, did any significant teams even play in it?

Anonymous said...

brick looked good

Anonymous said...

Brick was not there, there is not much to talk about . It is just a good training in an indoor format

Anonymous said...

Why do they even have this tournament?? Might as well play on concrete. No concern for safety..

Anonymous said...

Why do you care so much? Maybe kids just want to play.

Anonymous said...

The only indoor soccer worth talking about would be the Futsal Regionals in Wildwood. SJEB and Copa seem to be the only NJ teams that are smart enough to play. Premier strikers and Md united as well.

Anonymous said...

Futsal is absolutely the best form of training you can do in the winter months. Playing 7v7 on turf is not as fast or as technical.

Anonymous said...

Copa and Sjeb are lucky that the reigning state champs are not there. The real fundal champs. Until then keep the hate coming it fuels the fire.

Anonymous said...

"The only indoor soccer worth talking about would be the Futsal Regionals in Wildwood. SJEB and Copa seem to be the only NJ teams that are smart enough to play."

I wonder who wrote this? Little self promotion huh?

So how did SJEB and Copa do? Being they were the only ones in NJ smart enough to play.

Anonymous said...

It doesn't matter how they did. They competed in a very competitive bracket against some of the top players in the region. My post wasn't meant to promote either club, it was meant to express how much better futsal is compared to indoor soccer. I know these 2 clubs could never be as good as the club you write your check to, but at least they have the foresight to give their girls the best type of indoor training and competition.

Anonymous said...

COPA did great at futsal. Best futsal team in Nj . It will reflect on big field too. You hear it here first. Copa fall will be top notch.

Anonymous said...

Problem is, when you make comments like SJEB and Copa are the ONLY NJ teams smart enough to play, you open yourself up to criticism because you sound like an arrogant a$$.

People can look for themselves and see why the "results don't matter". Looks like only two or three good futsal teams entered and none of them were from NJ.
