U11G / U11 Girls youth soccer seems to offer the most teams and the widest diversity of talent. Where these players will end up is anyone guess. Welcome to the ride.
Players who pay to train with a team, but are not on the roster for official league games. They may participate in scrimmages or guest at tournaments with the team, at coaches discretion.
These players are usually ones that show potential, but are not quite developed enough to make the team.
Not true. If a player is talented, any team will take her with open arms at u-14 or when it really matters at u-15. No need to panic right now. Let the girls play and develop and the best will rise to the top. I certainly encourage even playing two sports or activities instead of burning out in one(soccer). At u-14, and a must at u-15, the very good players will be on Region 1 Premier League teams or ecnl. That is exactly where they should be. Buying a spot now does not ensure a spot latter especially when some rosters are over 18 players. Just Crazy. Talk about development? Find the best team that player can start and play just about the whole game, preferably the entire game, with a terrific coach and trainer.Make it easy and convenient for all evolved because the travel will take it's toll on player and parents as well as $$. Play games, and more games. Soccer IQ is increased by playing games, games, games. Not training, training, training. Number one thing college coaches look for after size and speed, is soccer IQ. All be safe out there.
“Our players are naturally competitive,” Reyna said. “We don’t need to ramp that up anymore. The whistle blows, our kids want to win. That’s one of our strengths and we're proud of it. But if we’re manipulating and thinking winning-over-development, we’re making a huge mistake. We’re short-cutting the development of players. ...
“Our aim is to produce skillful, creative, confident players.”
Reyna, who made several references to Barcelona’s famed youth program, quoted star playmaker Xavi: “Some youth academies worry about winning. We worry about education.”
10:01 I disagree - for a u14/u15 player to make the roster of an established team playing in those leagues you mentioned the Player MUST BE BETTER by a bunch over any player on that roster - Coaches correct me if i'm wrong.
Would you replace any player at u14/15 that you have had since u10 for a player that shows about the same talent or slightly better.
I would think these coaches would go with their kids unless of course a PRODIGY walks through the door.
I could be wrong - this is an Anonymous board so don't be PC
I believe there's a bit of truth in both sides. Yes, you do have to be significantly better than most of the team to break into a top level team at U14 or U15. However, if you stay on another team with great training and you are developing, you can become that player.
If you go to one of these "top" level teams too early and sit on the bench, then your development will lag and you have a higher chance of being replaced by one of these "developed elsewhere" players.
If the end goal is to PLAY at the highest level, staying on a team that you get to play makes more sense to me. Otherwise isn't it just bragging rights for the parents to say "my daughter plays for so and so" otherwise?
If your daughter isn't good enough to break into one of these teams at U14 or U15, then they probably just shouldn't be there anyway.
10:21am- you hit the nail on the head! speak to any coach and they all say the same thing. At tryouts a kid has to ranked in top 3 or top 5 to be able to crack an existing team. If you think otherwise, you are missing the boat!
Always looking for a starter, or a first sub. A new player elevates the play of all in practices. Have enough 15th ,16th ,17th etc.. players that I can not play already.
Wish I could have only 14 players and play until we drop. That is futbol, or soccer here in America.
Guys 10;21 here, just remember one thing 10:01 said R1 Premier or ECNL teams. We are not talking about any teams at u14/u15 we are talking about Established teams with very talented 16, 17, 18 and sometimes even more players on a roster.
Do you really think these team are going to carry average talent?
Think about how good your kid has to be well said 10:43.
Do you really think you can challenge for a NATIONAL or REGIONAL title with only 14 players? When other teams are carrying a Full roster of talented players and some. Come oN.
We are not talking JAGS, MOSA or PAGS we are talking top Regional leagues with teams looking at Nationals who don't care about driving 2 to 3 hours for a road game.
Trust me there will be No average players on these rosters at u14/u15 and most of them will be with the same coach for years - they will not drop one of the girls they developed for a project.
Again, coach wants to win as much as players/parents. Any player that can contribute to the process is welcomed. Sometimes coaches are looking to get rid of players that they carried for seasons.
Are you the dead weight?
I would rather add a player and have them play over others and hope they get it. But I am a wimp sometimes when it comes to cutting players. It is tough the let go a player and "family member" that has been with you for sometime. I find it easier to carry the player.Always need practice bodies.
Sorry - I forgot one thing - I understand these teams are looking to add players all the time - but they will not add a player that they don't think will help them win - a project is a no no.
Some you guys say these teams carry all these players for money - How about this?
What do you do if you only have 14 players you make the national championships - oh snap - now you need all 14 players to be able to make the national championships - parents need to take vacation time and be able to afford the airline tickets. What if 3 can't make it Do you really think that team can contend for a title with 11 players?
That's why these teams carry so many players - they play all over the country and not all the players can make every tournament - That's why they need a deep roster - sure you can say it's to throw money in a coaches wallet - but I can see a coach wanting a a Deep team to play for a national title at u14/u15
It's a lot easier to field 14 girls from a roster of 20 than a roster of 14. That's why these teams are always looking to add top talent - So In my opinion to crack these types of teams your kid better be top 3 on a team full of top 3s or Start them with a club early and let the coach make them into the players he or she is looking for. I'm sure they will let you know if they are thinking about replacing your kid before they do.
11:45 I was speaking in general to posters who think the top teams at u14/u15 have average talent at spots 15, 16, 17, 18 and beyond.
It's easy to say teams are loading up players just to make a buck and to keep them from other teams.
I was just trying to say those teams are already stacked with very strong players who will play all over the country- the longer you wait the harder it will be to make a roster.
I think the point is being missed. Today, with a lot of good trainers around , the top teams, i.e NJX, Crush Rage, are pretty similar to ECNL. teams .They may lose but the scores are close. The Top 3 or 4 players from these teams are better than # 6-18 on any of the current ECNL teams..i.e girl from Rage or Manalapan or NJX. It's not even close. So if any of these girls walked onto the field of PDA, Match fit, of course they are going to stand out.. These are not girls coming from no name teams. Think about it when Match fit or PDA, plays one of these teams, there are always players that Match fit or PDA has to adjust to by moving their players around. These are the same players that will take the spots of some of the current players. Put it this way -if #1-4 player came down from every high level team to PDA or Match fit try-outs, Don't you think the roster would look totally different for these ecnl clubs at u12.
Absolutely right. Need 20,25 players to practice and help finance. Lots of costs to play and train at the top level, not including travel. My salary is the same weather it is 14 or 25 players. Just costs a little less for each parent when roster increases. Top 14 PARENTS want more players to help pay. The next 15th plus parents will come and go, and that is ok and expected by all. I now have 7-8 players hoping for some sort of opportunity to get playing time. My philosophy is that I am going to play and win with the best 14 that gives the team a chance to be successful. Even when we are winning by say 4 or 5 nil, I can still coach and teach my 14 on certain things. No promises here, it is what works for the players. The parents are the ones the muddy the water. This is my job/career, and I am a professional with licenses and certs. Plenty of other coaches and teams/clubs to play for.
When those clubs (PDA, WC and Match Fit) have had 2 to 3 years of training a much larger pool of players.
PDA and MatchFit each have 3 teams currently at this age Group A/B up North with another A team down south. So you can call the teams ABC or AAB or CCC it doesn't matter they will have a player pool of 54 players training the same way.
but I thought this was a board for coaches, people who love soccer and care about the future of soccer plus parents who have kids that want to play soccer at the highest of levels.
I get the lets have fun with GAK and all the trolling - some people want to have fun their own way.
I had fun chatting today - no negative talk - but the day is young, I get that as well.
You guys have no clue, wait until its to late. Just keep your u11 dreams alive and all about beating the premiere clubs. This will happen at this age, but by u13 and beyond you will be left in the dust. This only matters for your top 3 players, so no worries. I agree that many of the current girls on the premiere clubs won't be left on team as well. They will have a better chance of staying the earlier they join, can always fall back to a Crush like team. Njx will get looked at because of partnership with MF, but only the top few will get asked to move to ecnl team. If you don't believe, ask any college coach and they will tell you go ecnl at all cost if you truly have a really good player.
The real way is not to have a,b, c teams or even a set coach/trainer for a team. Mix-match every day, every week and every year. Develop skill and talent with no baring on winning at all. Can parents handle this in NJ. I think not.
encl has put a good effort out, but by adding more clubs and teams every season through the region has become just another league. Training over games.
Good thing going bad over money. Always about the money. Youth soccer is a 3.8 billion dollar business now. More leagues to come? follow the $$
Go ask any kid assistant of the assistant coach that attended the ecnl tournament. You guys are funny. Chase that 1/4 scholarship that is only good for that year. Has to be renewed every year. Ever wonder where all the Seniors on a college women's soccer roster have gone? Go ahead and look at rosters on any college team website.Do at least 10 and see the pattern. Usually only a couple Seniors and few Juniors and lots of Sophomores/Freshmen.
Next, see how long that coach is at the school? Avg, 31/2 seasons. Hmmmmmmm........
ecnl has scholarships too. two or three pda players from each team play for free. They have to put in some volunteer hours though. Not that bad, we had to field Marshall and handle parking for the tournament a couple weeks ago.
5 Seniors- 3 are Red shirt Seniors 5 Juniors 7 Sophomores 11 Freshmen
out of a possible 14 full scholarships-Rutgers offers only 11 and splits them up into 1/4's and 1/2's- only 1 player has full scholarship. two 1/4's not offered or were wasted
Rutgers D3 Newark,NJ pda coach there.
20 on roster
1 Senior 7 Juniors 5 Sophomores 7 Freshmen
out of the possible 14 scholarships Rutgers Newark offers 8(9 is avg for most colleges) No full scholarships
Not sure the point here, but wanted to put out some real facts, that NJ knows.
Went to Skyblue game on Sunday, family got to see some of top stars in professional women soccer play up close. Bleacher seats are $14 & that gets you about 25 rows up, first row on the field are $60. Just want to say that my daughters & even son had best time ever. & after the game many players didn't just sign autographs but a few came over the barrier & talked to the fans, took pictures. Anyone who has a daughter playing soccer in the area MUST consider going to this very affordable event (I think there are 11 more home games, check out the website). Skyblue should be the most successful of the pro women teams this year given the vast amount of girls playing soccer in our state. I highly encourage people to go & then tell your friends about it. You cna't beat the price & the level of play is incredible.
& let me add we saw Skyblue win 1-0 against Rochester. Watching Abby Wambach play was a real thrill for my kids. She had some real good opportunities to score but didn't including a great chance with like 10 seconds left in extra time. Many shots on goal for both teams (these goalies were incredible their agility) & a PK which Skyblue goalie made great save on.
Hint- bring your own food the lines are incredibly long & do NOT NOT NOT do will call, also too long of a line. Get tickets mailed to you, much easier.
YES . Ever good player go to match or pda , so these pda parents on this board go walking. How is that for your investment. Many top players on other teams would be starters for pda.
Som Hills plays that new 10-1 formation - they haven't completed two passes in a row in years. crush should dominate but tough to score when 10 kids in the box and 7 of them on the goal line defending

Do you guys think NYCSL and EDP will ever come up with a Regional Champions Tournament since they are both NPL?
Unrelated to the NPL Championship (this year in Aurora, Colo)
Having the Lady Falcons, Crush, NJX and Hicksville in the same flight would have been great to see throw in a World Class and a PDA team plus the MA and MD team for some new blood and we could have had a really great 11v11 Flight.
Crush, crush , crush. You consume this blog and your life is consumed by u11 girls soccer. Every other blog is you, whether you mention your club or not. Pretty sure everyone on your team knows who you are based on your obsession. Do you have a crush sticker on all our cars?
They didn't win a single game last year in JAGS. They only stayed in the top flight because everyone left. They win one game against a decent team (not top 5) and already they are moved to "top 3". Really? Run the table in the MAPS group and have a good showing at Delco...then come back.

Big match up today- Oakwood (in my opinion one of best U11 teams in region) vs Match Fit. Let's see how Match Fit handles this team. I predict Oakwood 3-0.
any scores from today ? To 2:28 - I agree with you that Oakwood is a top U11 team in this region - interested to see how this game ends up. Any idea what time they kickoff (and if its in NJ) ?
GAK lost a tough game to the Outlaws 1-0, but it was a great game, both teams played awesome, can't win them all. I would like to watch that type of game every week.
Can anyone tell me about the Jackson and njsa merge? Will it be for the a and b team or will njsa being taking over the a team and calling it njsa? Also, can anyone tell me what there show has been for tryouts? Checking my options.
I love reading what the GAKSTER had to write, but now that reality has set in does the GAKSTER still feel they are a premier team. This team jumped from a very weak NAT 2 flight to a VERY VERY weak Premier flight and they still are having trouble. Losing to Millstone in Monroe Tournament must have put the GAKSTER over the edge.
We will hear from you in September GAKSTER. Dominating Nat 1 MOSA

NJSA won't hang around long. Just long enough to poach any good players at JSC and bolt. There are other clubs near Jackson. Wall & Howell are two of the better clubs in the Mon. Co.
Why do B team parents think their kids deserves a shot on the A team. Give it a rest already!!!!!! Get a life besides soccer and paying trainers with false hopes!!!!!!
"Why do B team parents think their kids deserves a shot on the A team. Give it a rest already!!!!!! Get a life besides soccer and paying trainers with false hopes!!!!!!"
This is the PDA Dragon's Kool Aid. After they won their first game in a month vs. a decent town team - they are all hyped up! Moe than likely, the main movements will be "down and out". As in a few Storm players moving down and a few dragon players moving out.
B teams tend to go away. Not many b teams at older ages. Either crash and burn, or get a total split and become their own team(change name). The sooner the better.
"This is the PDA Dragon's Kool Aid. After they won their first game in a month vs. a decent town team" As it happens to many, many teams, that town team was not even close to full strength.
With many town teams now, never know which team is going to show up. Some players play on two teams. On age and up to get the best soccer experience at affordable rates. Can't or do not want to pay so called academy fees, admin.fees, and coaching/training fees. Just play on two very good town or local teams with one on age and the other up. Usually pay for just the one team and kinda of guest play with the other or others.
"East Brunswick, you are a joke. First you are posting scrimmage scores, then claiming to be top 3 and now when you lose "you weren't at full strength"
True EB - you guys are a joke. you are a decent little town team, just like Somerset Hills. However, you are nothing more. No new girls from towns all around are at your try-outs. You have decent athletes but eventually girls want more from your team and at U13 or U14 the decent ones will be scrambling to try and make an established B team at like Jersey United, Stronghold, or Copa. By then you'll realize how silly your posts were and how delusional you were about your team's actual talent and soccer ability.
EB: lets not forget the EB parents at the games. They are so juvenile that they feel the need to try to psych out the opposing players by saying nasty things to them when they get close to the EB parents. Are you adults or children?
Except, unless I'm missing something, Rage was 0-1-1 against NJX in the fall, so I'm not sure what about that gives them an "easy path to the finals".
p.s. my daughter doesn't play for any team even under consideration for top 3, so no need to respond and speculate about who I am. I'm just someone who took 10 seconds to look up recent scores in response to your comment.
Can easily see Semis WestChester vs. Ukrainians and Nether vs, Penn Legacy
and any one of these 4 can win this year's u11 PA Championship.
WestChester, Penn Legacy and Nether all had good showings at the Jefferson while the Ukrainians skipped all 4 of the big Spring Tournaments So far (Manhattan, Jefferson, MatchFit & PDA)
I like that we have 3 of those 4 in our backyard plus throw in FC Delco, Spirit the MAPS Tournaments and Maybe these Philadelphia Union tournaments
I think the MA, CT, NY, NJ, PA, DE and MD clubs all have a huge advantage if they play their cards right in regards to top quality games for their girls to go along with the top training they are getting.
"p.s. my daughter doesn't play for any team even under consideration for top 3, so no need to respond and speculate about who I am. I'm just someone who took 10 seconds to look up recent scores in response to your commen".
No, of course your not an an NJX parent. You are simply an unbiased parent who took offense to the prediction and quickly looked up the history.
total outside observer here. My daughters team is not in super group. I have to agree, there is no easy path for any team. Rage will have a tough battle vs Holmdel NJX, and Crush will be tested vs STA and maybe Match Fit. Especially since Match Fit has just beaten them recently in 8v8. They are the wild card team since they do not play 11v11.
You have it all figured out, idiot. Certainly nobody could come here with an objective opinion.
Someone said they had an easy path. I looked up who they're playing. Then I looked up all recent history on gotsoccer for any match ups with NJX. Scores seem to indicate an outcome that contradicts what the other poster stated. Am I speaking with too much rational thought for you to follow?
I hope whatever team your daughter plays on loses every game forever because parents like you don't deserve the satisfaction of seeing their daughters do well.
Not everyone who comes here is a parent of PDA, NJX, etc., or even GAK for that matter, looking to trash everyone else.
If you had to rank the remaining 8, what would it be:
STA Red CRUSH Match Fit TSF PDA Ajax Holmdel NJX Rage E Brunswick
Try to do it without trashing any of the teams. At this point there is at least some recent history between most if not all with the exception of Match Fit because of their limited 11v11.
Who the hell cares if you are 8v8 or 11v11, It's the age group. Match fit rules right now and PDA and WC will be right behind them. They will be the power houses going forward. Anyone who knows nj youth soccer knows that you have to be there. My older one is as my younger one isn't, and never will be at that level. Happy to be on top 5 team now, but know what the future holds.
11 Vs and 11 and 8 vs. 8 are two different games. After match fit plays their next couple of 11 vs. 11 games, we will get a chance to see how their skills transfer on the big field. quite a few teams have some difficulty on the big field because of team balance . TSF is a nice mid level team that Match Fit should handle. They have beaten the Crush on the 8 vs. 8 and if they are indeed better than this team. Then they should them as well.
They only team that Match fit has difficulty beating in this area is World Class. They seem to lose to this team all the time.
All I'm saying is that at this age group, I believe match fit has the strongest overall team. I disagree about the 11v11 and 8v8 being so different, that is just crush wishfully thinking with first daughter to ever play compatible soccer. Going forward it will be a 3 legged race to u16 and ecnl where all these girls will get the best training, the best fields, the best competition, the best tournaments and the finally the best oops at d1 if they can stick it out. Going to tryouts, wish me luck, we will need it. Scary
Must be a soft PDA parent. The game is physical and will become more physical as they get older. Yet another reason why PDA is falling behind in this age group...... Understand the entire game my friends. There is a reason why Rage, NJX and Crush are passing you.... You need to be just as physical as skilled as we move forward.
If the real top 4 make it to the semis matchfit, njx, crush, and rage. Any of them can beat each other and win it all. Good luck to all the teams. This is from a njx parent. They've all played each other and games have gone to pk's and mostly all one goal games. You cant ask for anything better. All well coached and trained teams.
10:07 , you are not a nix parent, you are the CrusH guy. Most of the of the blog is you, can tell by the way you write. We know this cup and u11 girls soccer is everything to you and wish you the best!
"You need to be just as physical as skilled as we move forward."
I disagree.
You need to know how to play soccer, understanding the game and the situations, when and where to use the skills you have.
At these younger ages - the more physical girls can dominate even if they don't have the same skill.
For our USMNT being more physical has brought us "gots" nothing. The USWNT has enjoyed a free ride for many years - but now the rest of the world developing the girls game and we are still number 1 - but we don't dominate anymore.
I don't know what the right approach is - but I would take the more skilled girl over the more physical girl any day of the week at this age.
The more skilled girl will adopt to play a more physical game without being more physical - while the more physical girl can never play in a game that requires more technical skill.
Is the EDP league only 11v11? I thought they also had an 8v8 group, but I don't see it on the website. Any other teams, besides Matchfit, play in 8v8 leagues?
If you are talking NJ only below are the top two flights from Mid New Jersey Youth Soccer League - they don't play 11v11 at this age all the games are 8v8. NY plays 9v9 at this age and the NYCSL NPl plays 8v8
I hope this helps.
EDP is 8v8 by request I beleive - If you are an 8v8 team you play your home games 8v8 not sure about road games - ANYONE ELSE familiar with EDP?

On your side bar - I also agree that would be a super team and I can also see that being the ECNL JR team for them.
The question is what happens to the girls not selected to this super team? Do they play for the B team or move onto a different club?
If it wasn't MatchFit or PDA - I would say no B team is worth the Fees these clubs ask for.
However, these two clubs put their B teams in R1 Premier or Colonial and with the added opportunity to make the ECNL team makes it worth the Fees I think.
There will be Clubs that benefit because of this merger picking up Quality players - that the Coaches think need more time to develop by moving them to the B team and pick the wrong girls based on positional need.
Very interesting - I'm curious to see how teams look in the fall after the dust settles from tryouts across the region.
The dust will begin to settle, PDA storm should get the strongest showing in tryouts if parents were smart. They are a solid team, but In need of a few great additions and now is the best time to make the jump before it gets hard/late. After next year you will see less and less of them, mf and wc. None of the Crush girls will leave, they are all a happy little bunch in a new world. Nix girls will try when it's to late after mf rejects them. Rage is to far, one or two will leave after u14 , the top 2. Any other girl from the northern counties will go wc, if they have older siblings who have gone through the process. Let's face the facts, ECNL is the future and is getting stronger, jump now or forever hold you peace.
1) There are at least 3 MF type players that simply are not elite level players - leave it at that.
2) They only rosetted 16 or 17 this season and that gives you another couple spots.
This is a year where 4 or 5 - if talented - could actually make next season's 18 player roster. Size and speed would replace the three mentioned above in a second...
Storm may be small but skilled. Some of the big girls physical but not skilled and NO soccer iq. Can't teach that. Don't speak for coach unless you are the coach posting OR have the b..ls to sign your name.
Don't say the the big physical girls are not skilled and have no soccer IQ UNLESS YOU are the coach or have the b..ls to post your name!
The small are SO small and SO light and SO slow that they will be Dragon back-ups in time. Those with low IQ will gain it and still be big and fast!
How about a little wager: Next season's Storm team will be distinctly bigger and faster than this season's is my bet. I assume your's is they will stay tiny and slow.
What we need is versatility. Girls who can play up top and in the back or the middle. currently they just throw one group in middle because they give up goals in back and could never ever score a goal up top.
Storm most talented team 1 thru 16. Storm scoring avg. this season around 5 a game while giving up less than 1 goal a game. They are only going to keep improving.
"Storm most talented team 1 thru 16. Storm scoring avg. this season around 5 a game while giving up less than 1 goal a game. They are only going to keep improving."
14-16 would not be the top players on a premier MOSA, MNJ or NC soccer league team. The team is still great, they are still super fast - we're just saying...
2:57 you must be snorting some sink cleaner yourself. May 5, bring your wallet. Unless you have to be at a GAK or Rage game. You can't possibly be an NJX parent and that dumb? Or could you?
Crush hasn't ever beaten a PDA a team, ask your older premiere teams, they have played them many times over the years and they keep slipping further back in the pack, like tou will. It would be a club dream and I'm sure you would post all over your website. Maybe you will get a lucky bounce in last minute. What happened to your 2 good teams?
4:00 poster your a douche.[Are they good players or are they just town kids] How the hell do you the the top teams got so good,by recruiting or poaching town teams.Parents running to academy try outs is a shame, let your kid enjoy the game and play with their friends. If they are good people will notice no matter where they play.I can see your 11 year old in the suv doing home work on their way to practice. It's a shame You parents have drank the cool aid and your kids and family will pay the price......I love watching the good town teams play the academies and give them a scare or embarrass them.We always hear the excuses ,like ,we are all about development we don't care if we win in tournaments, they don't play the game the correct way, they are too physical....Have fun at try outs my kid will stay on her TOWN team that we are proud of,win or lose.
Congrats to Match Fit, I did not think you guys would reach Semi's only for the reason that you had no experience with 11v11. Yes you have a nice 8v8 team, therefore I was wrong. Nice job on reaching Semi's
Yes , funny how someone thinks that you could have the best 8v8 team and beat them, but because they have more experience playing 11v11, that is where they will win. I predict MF beating Crush again if they make to next round. They should win, may get another lucky bounce.
Match fit will lose to rage or NJX. Always on the weak side of bracket. Match fit should take no pride in beating second Tier teams like TSF, STA, etc...
I heard that match fit parents had to give $100 each to the director of the state cup so they could be in the "weak" bracket. Better not tell njx or PDA. They'll double it!

Don't post if you are clueless.
8:21am who are you referring to/
10:23 pm post
Training spots are practice players.
1. Development over winning.
I could be wrong - this is an Anonymous board so don't be PC
a - the landscape often changes (new clubs, etc)
b - trainers see opposing talent, so they are not really coming in sight unseen, having to have a great tryout.
c - even a great team - at an advanced age - often has a spot or 2 that could use improvement
d - talent plateaus - a great midfielder at 14 could be just mediocre at 16 - and of course vice-versa.
e - injuries
Depends on the trainer
The better ones have to PROJECT where a player could get to in time.
And will add said player if that potential is seen, rather than send them to another club.
Numbers of course do matter.
Some have eighteen already. Others are looking to fill a slot or 2/3 - or even looking to add an entire team at a given level.
Need the money. Will add any player willing to sit on bench and not cause problems. Once parent starts whining, add another player.
7:15 PM
It was an 8 v 8 league game (Match Fit v Crush)
Nothing changed.
Eventually it's an 11 player game. And I am sure Match Fit will be very good at it. Let's watch it play out.
10:59
Why would any player want to sit bench and not cause problems and just finance the team?
Is it better to start and play for a very good team, or ride the bench on a great team?
Trust me there will be No average players on these rosters at u14/u15 and most of them will be with the same coach for years - they will not drop one of the girls they developed for a project.
at least i don't think they will
Are you speaking to town team parents right now?
I understand your point - just not sure many here are in a situation to worry about your warning.
That's why these teams are always looking to add top talent -
So In my opinion to crack these types of teams your kid better be top 3 on a team full of top 3s or Start them with a club early and let the coach make them into the players he or she is looking for. I'm sure they will let you know if they are thinking about replacing your kid before they do.
Am I wrong Coaches?
11:45 I was speaking in general to posters who think the top teams at u14/u15 have average talent at spots 15, 16, 17, 18 and beyond.
It's easy to say teams are loading up players just to make a buck and to keep them from other teams.
I was just trying to say those teams are already stacked with very strong players who will play all over the country- the longer you wait the harder it will be to make a roster.
Projects go B team....
if they choose to take that.
Put it this way -if #1-4 player came down from every high level team to PDA or Match fit try-outs, Don't you think the roster would look totally different for these ecnl clubs at u12.
...and sometimes you can play B team and stay on your town team as well.......
Often a good choice.
12:01 I see your point.
But will they be at u14/u15?
When those clubs (PDA, WC and Match Fit) have had 2 to 3 years of training a much larger pool of players.
PDA and MatchFit each have 3 teams currently at this age Group A/B up North with another A team down south. So you can call the teams ABC or AAB or CCC it doesn't matter they will have a player pool of 54 players training the same way.
Just saying.
WOW ! something to look forward to at u-14, 15
Look I know this is not for everyone.
but I thought this was a board for coaches, people who love soccer and care about the future of soccer plus parents who have kids that want to play soccer at the highest of levels.
12:01
Life outside of NJ is cruel and different.
Hmmmmmmm........
hmmm...is right. Summer Computer camp anyone?
Maybe outdoor junior Ranger camp at the state park.
hmmm ... is a loser. My daughter will have a full ride scholarship. Four years all paid for by soccer, just you watch and see.
"By U13 you will be left in the dust"
- Ever think some here might be OK with that?
Relax, buddy boy.
8 seniors
6 juniors
9 sophomores
5 freshmen
- just a random D1 womens roster
Second random roster
27 players
9 seniors
6 juniors
Yes I agree the girl from Rage, Crush and Manalapan are talented players.
As talented as they are, WC, PDA and Match Fit already have 6-8 girls if not more on there current rosters just as talented if not better.
Reason for the topic of the day, move now. Will only get harder to make a team of this caliber.
ecnl has scholarships too. two or three pda players from each team play for free. They have to put in some volunteer hours though. Not that bad, we had to field Marshall and handle parking for the tournament a couple weeks ago.
Random College D1 Roster:
2 Seniors
4 Juniors
12 Sophomores
10 Freshmen
28 on roster. Wow ! big roster
4 goalies ?
Rutgers DI-Everyone knows Rutgers
28 on roster
5 Seniors- 3 are Red shirt Seniors
5 Juniors
7 Sophomores
11 Freshmen
out of a possible 14 full scholarships-Rutgers offers only 11 and splits them up into 1/4's and 1/2's- only 1 player has full scholarship. two 1/4's not offered or were wasted
Rutgers D3 Newark,NJ pda coach there.
20 on roster
1 Senior
7 Juniors
5 Sophomores
7 Freshmen
out of the possible 14 scholarships Rutgers Newark offers 8(9 is avg for most colleges)
No full scholarships
Not sure the point here, but wanted to put out some real facts, that NJ knows.
Have to love these scholarship parents.
Nj Stallions Dynamites u-15
Top 3 in country NATIONALLY- not ecnl, 8 college commits on team already.
well done girls
Correct Not ECNL
But do play in EDP/NPL & Super Y
What's your point for bringing in a u15 team to a u11 blog?
u12 number 5 in the Country
PDA SPLASH
u13 number 4 in the Country
NJ STALLIONS STAMPEDE
u14 number 2 in the country
PDA O'REILLY
u16 number 1 in the country
MATCH FIT CHELSEA COLCHESTERS
u17 number 2 & 3 in the Country
MATCH FIT CHELSEA LIGHTNING
MATCH FIT CHELSEA BEAT
Looks like Match Fit is the place to be in NJ. New ecnl club, not that it help the existing teams already top level.
I look forward to seeing the Match Fit teams for U12 2013-14 after what should be a competitive round of tryouts
The players that trickle down from Falcons should help Jaguars
Opinions on Crush vs. somerset hills today? Do players look to leave clubs after outcome?
Did you support SkyBlue in the WPS?
Thanks for the info.
PS. I thought I read somewhere all the games will be streamed on the NWSL website or maybe youtube or maybe it was just the first week's games.
I will Support the League just as I support anything US Soccer from Youth Soccer (R1, ECNL, NPL) to USL, NPSL, WPSL, NASL, NWSL & MLS.

What outcome of Crush v SHSC game? Leave to go to which clubs?
crush will beat hills 2-0
Top players on Crush and somerset should look to match fit and PDA. Don't wait! Should be a low scoring game. BD field and somerset will pack the box.
ignorance abounds on this blog.... but i do love the entertainment that it provides on my weekly check in... kinda like watching the Jersey Shore.
YES . Ever good player go to match or pda , so these pda parents on this board go walking. How is that for your investment. Many top players on other teams would be starters for pda.
Wrong!!! Ignorance in full bloom.
Som Hills plays that new 10-1 formation - they haven't completed two passes in a row in years. crush should dominate but tough to score when 10 kids in the box and 7 of them on the goal line defending
Manalapan got one in! lol
she must have shot high or when they weren't looking
Crush, how bad did you beat them. 5 0.
What was score of Crush vs. somerset hills?
Crush 1 Pack-in-the-Box 0
SHSC parents,
All tryout are free except yours. What's up with this? I know my kid will not be coming. I think you should all boycott the fee.
What was the score of the Manalapan v. E. Brunswick game on 4-13, Saturday?
Now Somerset Hills is being trashed?
What the heck did they ever do to irk anyone?
My Lord!

So how is STA in the top flight ahead of PDA and MF Falcons?
Finally, since ZERO PA teams showed up in NYC (I get it - VA was closer)
We have NY teams going to PA to play.
For those that care we can finally see how some of these teams compare to each other (PA vs. NY).
That 8v8 A bracket looks like 3 great games for each team with a 4th great game for the Championship.
IT does say PRELIMINARY FLIGHTS
However, I do agree - they would be better off moving up 3 of the elite flight teams into the Championship flight and leave only 5 in Elite.
The MD and MF for sure
PIPELINE SC BLACK (MD)
MATCH FIT CHELSEA LADY FALCONS (NJ)
Then 1 of the below 3 - what do you guys think? If you care.

The 11 v 11 flight is a joke, no good teams
Look at how lucky we are in NY, NJ & PA - we can drive 4 to 8 hours to play in Jefferson (mar) and WAGS (oct) if we want plus look at these high end tournaments in the Spring.
March = Manhattan (NY)
April = PDA (NJ)
May = DELCO (PA)
Do you guys think NYCSL and EDP will ever come up with a Regional Champions Tournament since they are both NPL?
Unrelated to the NPL Championship (this year in Aurora, Colo)
I think the elite is strong enough - two division winners playing for title
and championship is a fine round robin with no playoff.... best record takes it.
Rematches of Crush-NJX and Crush-Hicksville should be excellent matches..... while S Shore lies in the weeds.
12:29 Are you from NJ?
Having the Lady Falcons, Crush, NJX and Hicksville in the same flight would have been great to see throw in a World Class and a PDA team plus the MA and MD team for some new blood and we could have had a really great 11v11 Flight.
PS. This is no knock on TR, MU and EB
You can't force an 8 v 8 team to play 11 v 11
Wouldn't be fair to Westchester and World Class
Crush, crush , crush. You consume this blog and your life is consumed by u11 girls soccer. Every other blog is you, whether you mention your club or not. Pretty sure everyone on your team knows who you are based on your obsession.
Do you have a crush sticker on all our cars?
"What was the score of the Manalapan v. E. Brunswick game on 4-13, Saturday?"
EB 1 Manalapan 0
puts EB in top 3.
Top 3 of what? Flight 4 MOSA? Please don't tell me you don't mean top 3 in all of U11!
DONOVAN: “WE ALL HAVE TO DO A BETTER JOB.” "it's everybody who's involved in soccer in this country.”
"puts EB in top 3."
They didn't win a single game last year in JAGS. They only stayed in the top flight because everyone left. They win one game against a decent team (not top 5) and already they are moved to "top 3". Really? Run the table in the MAPS group and have a good showing at Delco...then come back.
"puts EB in top 3."
"Top 3 of what?"
Middlesex County?
East Brunswick would never claim to be in the Top 3. Go throw rocks at another team.
any scores from todays cup games?
PDA tryouts were light on numbers and talent in my opinion. Approximately only 25 new girls. Lots of town quality teamers but...
Maybe, realistically, 3-4 possible new Storm players - Tops.
EDP scores/standings updated it looks like
I would say 2 tops. Dragons 2-1 against EB this morning
Dragons get a huge win over EB. Dragons really needed a win over anybody, would help.
Coach stuck around today for the game.
Hey Dragon Parent leave the coach alone after the game! Your team won! No need to talk to him give him 24 hours to enjoy the win! Looser!

3-1 match fit
Match Fit 3-1 Oakwood
PDA Storm 7-0
Who was the 0? This must make Storm top 3 :)
Knightmares, which it was.
Need some help with Match Fit. Are there 2 Match Fit teams in this age group? If so, where do they play?
Two U11G Match Fit teams (Falcons and Jaguars) play out of Morris Catholic in Denville. There is another U11G team that plays out of South Jersey.
where in south jersey & who is it ?
7-0 PDA STORM vs WHO?
Match fit 3-1 over Oakwood? Is that the Oakwood from Connecticut? That is a hell-of-a-win! 2 excellent teams! Good job!
How about some more scores!
7-0 over the knightmares . Which it was.
Enough of this state cup and tournament talk. How did the GAK make out today?
GAK lost a tough game to the Outlaws 1-0, but it was a great game, both teams played awesome, can't win them all. I would like to watch that type of game every week.
PDA beat a U12 team (Mainland), Match Fit beat Crush and Oakwood back to back. Very impressive. Good job to top 2 teams in NJ
Too bad for the gak. That loss knocks them out of the top 3!
Can anyone tell me about the Jackson and njsa merge? Will it be for the a and b team or will njsa being taking over the a team and calling it njsa?
Also, can anyone tell me what there show has been for tryouts?
Checking my options.
GAK also lost to Colts Neck in the Monroe Tournament. Not a good weekend for GAK

Co.
"I love reading what the GAKSTER had to write, but now that reality has set in does the GAKSTER still feel they are a premier team."
3-7, maybe 4-6 this season.
I must admit, their stopper and goalie will keep them in a lot of games. Two very solid players.

After they won their first game in a month vs. a decent town team"
As it happens to many, many teams, that town team was not even close to full strength.
"As it happens to many, many teams, that town team was not even close to full strength."
East Brunswick, you are a joke. First you are posting scrimmage scores, then claiming to be top 3 and now when you lose "you weren't at full strength"
Looks like Crush and Rage have an easy path to the finals. Rage 3 Crush 1 Final
If we get the envisioned Final 4......
it's wide open
But I do think 3 of these 4 quarter finals will be competitive (Rage game being the exception)
STA Red vs CRUSH*
Match Fit* vs TSF
PDA Ajax vs Holmdel NJX*
Rage* vs E Brunswick
* favored team
- dont expect an upset in any......but would not be a shocker
and over in PA
WCUSC Predators vs. HMMS-EAGLE
BSA Rage SC vs. Ukrainian Blasters
TEYSA Liberty vs. Nether United Xtremes
Penn Legacy bye straight to Semi-finals
Can easily see Semis
WestChester vs. Ukrainians and
Nether vs, Penn Legacy
and any one of these 4 can win this year's u11 PA Championship.
You are simply an unbiased parent who took offense to the prediction and quickly looked up the history.
hahaha, yeah right!
total outside observer here.
To April 23, 2013 at 1:17 PM
STA Red
CRUSH
Match Fit
TSF
PDA Ajax
Holmdel NJX
Rage
E Brunswick
Try to do it without trashing any of the teams. At this point there is at least some recent history between most if not all with the exception of Match Fit because of their limited 11v11.
Here is my stab (this is without seeing MF play 11v11).
1. Rage
2. Match Fit
3. CRUSH
4. Holmdel NJX
5. PDA Ajax
6. STA Red
7. E Brunswick
8. TSF
Who the hell cares if you are 8v8 or 11v11,
It's the age group.
It's the age group. Match fit rules right now and PDA and WC will be right behind them."
Why is PDA and World class right behind them?
Has n't match fit lost World class every time they have played them?
Where is the Quack from the GAK?
Awful quiet in GAKville...almost too quiet. Do we need to keep him away from any ledge or sharp objects?
All I'm saying is that at this age group, I believe match fit has the strongest overall team. I disagree about the 11v11 and 8v8 being so different, that is just crush wishfully thinking with first daughter to ever play compatible soccer.
Going forward it will be a 3 legged race to u16 and ecnl where all these girls will get the best training, the best fields, the best competition, the best tournaments and the finally the best oops at d1 if they can stick it out.
Going to tryouts, wish me luck, we will need it. Scary
Actually they have not as Match Fit, looking at results from NC teams have beaten each other in close games. Regardless those 3 teams are legit
NJX tryouts this Saturday. PDA parents do you have your car pooling in place?
Ajax is going to get flushed! Another PDA team that thinks they are good. Some of those parents should be flogged!
Why does njx even have tryouts, a step up from rec
Just saw a copy of the NJX tryout schedule:
- 40yd dash
- Bench Press
- squats
Bring water and towel only. No need to bring a soccer ball.
Ajax 3 NJX 1. Just saying
Hey 4/23 5:11 your mother should be flogged for having you!)
To the 9:13 poster: Was the Ajax 3 Njx 1 score a prediction or did they play their cup game?
It's a prediction.
Any good new players at the PDA Tryouts?
10:07 , you are not a nix parent, you are the CrusH guy. Most of the of the blog is you, can tell by the way you write. We know this cup and u11 girls soccer is everything to you and wish you the best!
"Any good new players at the PDA Tryouts/"
Not really - a very few Storm worthy players there.
if your daughter is good, bring her and tell coach you are trying out for "Storm only" and you'll get a great look!
I read that 20 + new girls went to the tryouts. Will any of these new girls replace players/ or make either of the two PDA teams?
The more skilled girl will adopt to play a more physical game without being more physical - while the more physical girl can never play in a game that requires more technical skill.
just my two cents.
I heard this past weekend, the old #23 from PDA is heading back to PDA next year!
Is the EDP league only 11v11? I thought they also had an 8v8 group, but I don't see it on the website. Any other teams, besides Matchfit, play in 8v8 leagues?
17 girls at tryouts.
Stronghold SC Fury
Westfield Blue Samurai
Bridgewater SA Inc. Strikers

Hopewell Valley Hurricanes
Watchung Hills Starz

Westfield Super Eagles

Vision Training SA Pumas
NJ Dynamo NJD Academy 01 Girls
Parsippany SC Genesis
Summit Soccer Club Benfica
Aberdeen-Matawan United
I also believe a few of these teams actually play 11v11 in JAGS as well.
That's a nice formula for their girls.
two leagues
One 11v11
and the other 8v8
plus mixing up your tournaments.
4/24 9:41am
Starting a rumor? First I don't see her leaving Crush.
I will entertain:
I believe young lady lives in Bergen county. Stay with Crush or go to World Class
Re: physicality
NJX is a handful in part because they are physical.
I dont expect that to change, even as girls on other teams mature, though there are ways (that can be learned) of better handling those tactics...
As NJX adds elements..... again.... they will be a handful any time you face them.
On another note: Is there truth to a possible superteam, where 8 of Match Fit's best join 8 of NJX (of current U11s from Holmdel and Lady Falcons)?
Of course others may also try out. I'd expect that to be quite a team.
12:12 Agreed
NJX 3-SINK SCRUBERS 0
(SINK SCRUBBERS=AJAX)
Cant wait till NJX kicks the crap outta Ajax and their typical PDA parents.
GO NJX!
PDA Sorm coach is very open to new players!
Are there kids at the tryouts that are talented enough for the storm? Or are these kids coming from town teams?
In other words, 3 MF players attended tryouts but are not from top team. That's how I am reading between the lines.
No I think they mean three MF (midfielders) that are not up to snuff.
3 midfield players probably going to Dragons, therefore 3 potential openings.
Storm are far from slow. They have some of the fastest girls around.
"Storm scoring avg. this season around 5 a game"
Based on PDA Tournament and JAGS you're closer to 3 goals a game. Maybe you played another Tournament I didn't see.
PDA Storm v Crush Tsunami would be a great game, if ever played
High powered offense, I guess... vs a team that is quite stingy when playing 11 v 11.
Any score in Cup game tonight? (Match Fit vs TSF)
Posted on NJ Cup site.
Match Fit 3-0 TSF
Looks like Match Fit has not yielded a goal to date. Any feedback on game?
This is an ecnl promoting blog. ecnl the best. When something is so good, people just know, do not have to promote it, unless... ?
If I remember correctly PDA beat TSF 7-0. But their small and slow.
PDA's a non issue.
They are sitting.
6,7,8,9 - 0 during a tournament does not mean anything. Who was missing players, who has guest players. A win is a win.
Congrats to Match Fit, I did not think you guys would reach Semi's only for the reason that you had no experience with 11v11. Yes you have a nice 8v8 team, therefore I was wrong. Nice job on reaching Semi's
Match Fit, smatch fit! Your an 8 vs. 8 team. You have no 11 vs. 11 skill. You dont play New Jersey Teams. Hmmm what else did I miss?
Score goals and havn't given one up on full sided? That's horrible soccer!
I'm a fan, you lousy 8 vs. 8 team!
Yes , funny how someone thinks that you could have the best 8v8 team and beat them, but because they have more experience playing 11v11, that is where they will win. I predict MF beating Crush again if they make to next round.
They should win, may get another lucky bounce.
Yeah, maybe 2 more corners hitting rocks -
Match fit will lose to rage or NJX. Always on the weak side of bracket. Match fit should take no pride in beating second Tier teams like TSF, STA, etc...
I heard that match fit parents had to give $100 each to the director of the state cup so they could be in the "weak" bracket. Better not tell njx or PDA. They'll double it!
