And then you woke up to find it was only a dream.

And then you woke up and found out that Acadamies are better than clubs

Anonymous said...

Yes, Match Fit come on in and play. NJSA, you are welcome too. PDA, well I believe you already know the answer. RB, not sure but I will give you a pass.

Anonymous said...

And then you woke up in 2014 and found Marlboro is an Academy.

Anonymous said...

Marlboro/CTR

Anonymous said...

Really Marlboro, come on even you cant be that dumb.

Anonymous said...

If Marlboro is an acadamy, why don't we just add den of lions and cougar soccer club as academies

Anonymous said...

Because they are not. Everyone knows that, it is just a play on words.

Anonymous said...

Marlboro/ Campioni Tab Ramos.

Its legit, they announced last month. Look at the roster.

Anonymous said...

It is NOT an academy team. It is NOT. It is a training company.

Anonymous said...

Poor Tab having to always support his friend at Campioni. How much blood can that mosquito suck out of him?

Anonymous said...

Even if it was an acadamy teAm they would get killed by every other acadamy they play, look who they lose to eb, Roma so many teams

Anonymous said...

You are right, Tab is raking in the bucks at NJSA....NOT

Anonymous said...

That mosquito is going to pull TR down with him. Oh well..Tabs a big boy.

Anonymous said...

Still better than Marlboro

Anonymous said...

Poor Tab?

Foolish MSA having to always support Campioni. How much blood can that mosquito suck out of them?! Club deserves better than that. EB, Roma all have the advantage.

Ironbound Tourney this weekend- Not great teams but maybe the gunners will get back into top 10 of state http://events.gotsport.com/events/results.aspx?EventID=36231&Gender=Boys&Age=14

Mt. Laurel is the best in the state and will beat any academy team

Anonymous said...

Yeah and cougar soccer club in maplewood just beat Roma and has 3 kids on the national team

Anonymous said...

I don't get why everyone loves roma. THey have a couple kids who are good and a bunch of average players. Nothing special and they are overrated

Anonymous said...

Talk about a joke- the gunners lost 4-0 to sfl today and it wasn't even close, it was their second game after a 3-1 loss to ironbiund but they had 3 or 4 players who shouldn't even be on an arguable top team in the state and the 3 or 4 players started, I hear that the good kids went to another super y team but a joke on the coach and players

Anonymous said...

PDA, MF & NJSA will always be 2nd place to RB

Anonymous said...

But your kid is still riding the RB bench. Worth it for him in the longer run? Time will tell, won't it?

Anonymous said...

Come on, do you really think that was written by a RB parent? That was a jab by someone whose kid didn't make one of those academies.

Gunners got their first win of the season over west Hester flames 4-3, flames may just replace NJSA 04

There is certainly a lot of interesting stuff happening this year in youth soccer in NJ....

1) MF is out
2) Cedar stars (up to U14) is in
3) NJSA (U15 and up) and PDA will absorb MF players and RBNY players who get cut
4) RBNY is and will stay the dominant team in the 2000 age group

The strong U13/14 club teams (1999/2000) will most likely significantly weaken as all the top players from those teams are catching the last train to get into academy soccer......

In terms of all DA going free, ... yes I can see people coming to that conclusion, but let's wait and see for another 2 to 3 years, because we may just find out that the way that US soccer is set up, youth soccer can only sustain itself in the current PDA/NJSA model...

Hopefully the model the NYRB and Pilly Union are promoting will succeed but I am still 50/50 on the long term financial sustainability of that model on a larger scale....

Anonymous said...

MF combined with Philly union so best players will go there. RB cut 7 players for space from incoming players

Anonymous said...

only so many player at MFC that are strong enough for PU... At least 80%+ or more are going to be looking elsewhere...

Anonymous said...

3 players from gotschee commited to rb for next season u15. 1 matchfit so far.

Anonymous said...

MF out? Please explain

Anonymous said...

Gottschee NJ and Parsippany at the Dallas Cup?

Good luck boys!

Anonymous said...

MF announced that they have "voluntarily" decided to discontinue the U15/16 and U17/18 DA teams and will keep the U13/14 team. That's the official version. The speculation is that US Soccer told MF they wouldn't be renewing license for older age group. It unknown what if the keeping of U13/14 is done to give them a year to transition or is it to give them a 2nd chance to meet requirements for all age groups. Again, this is speculations, but the "signal" is that they are "out".

Anonymous said...

Why would MF do that? What happens to all of those players?

Anonymous said...

Stallions 99/00 have certainly looked good thus far. Two commanding 5-0 wins. If they beat East Brunswick this weekend I sense that there will be some new competition amongst the big boys in NJ!

Anonymous said...

The speculation is that MF has consistently been unable to meet some of the US Soccer requriements.

All this talk about academies. Only good academy team at U14 is RB end of story.

Anonymous said...

I agree, town teams are the teams still standing academy teams are dropping like flies

region 1 teams in Dallas Cup... Gottschee and Parsippany

Anonymous said...

Anybody know the location of Princeton Black vs. PDA game being played today?

Anonymous said...

I guess that commanding win could not be repeated against a real quality team like EBSC. Better luck next time!

Anonymous said...

How much did EBSC beat Stallions by?

Anonymous said...

EBSC beat Stallions 3-1!

EBSC advances to State Cup Quarterfinals with a win over Parsipanny Crewe in PKs.

"region 1 teams in Dallas Cup... Gottschee and Parsippany"

Funny thing about this to me is that I think there are at least 5 former Galacticos players included on these two rosters.

Anonymous said...

Both NJ teams in Dallas won their opening matches but then lost their second games. So there's little chance either of them will get out of their groups.

But it looks like the tournament organizes friendlies for the teams that don't advance so they'll both end up with about 4 or 5 games down there.

Pretty cool tourney for U14s! Congrats to both teams!

What's funny about this?

Anonymous said...

Well, I didn't mean "Funny - HA HA."

My meaning was more along the "Funny - Ironic" line.

Anonymous said...

"Funny-ironic" in what sort of way? Please illuminate. "funny" in that the Galacticos were blessed with a depth of incredible talent coming out of the U8 Montclair system, then taken over by the coach who manged to charm the players for a few years only to have all or most of the quality players bail type of funny? My count has virtually none of the original players still on the Gunners. I suppose the vale was finally lifted and the tap dancing coach was left to coach little girls teams. That type of "funny-ha ha"? If so I agree. Obviously, That type of funny.

Anonymous said...

Now that was really funny!

Anonymous said...

"Now that was really funny!"

Yeah, that was the type of funny I originally intended. I was just a bit to kind to expand on the thought quite so specifically.

Anyway, both Parsippany and Gottschee lost their final Group matches yesterday and each finished 3rd in their group. So they'll both get a couple of friendlies in against other teams that didn't advance over the next few day (if they request this).

It would be "funny" if these two NJ teams ended up playing each other 1,600 miles from home!

" I suppose the vale was finally lifted and the tap dancing coach was left to coach little girls teams. "

I think you meant "veil" and I also think your comment is harsh.

No doubt that there was a lot of talent in that U8 Montclair pool years back. And no doubt that the Galacticos/Gunners team they became is now effectively done.

But I also think that your "tap dancer" was/is a very good trainer (even if not the best in-game manager) and that most of the development many of these players have accomplished over the years is due to his efforts.

And I also think your effort to belittle girls soccer is unfortunate.
