Yes PDA OR has a few new players signed. So what happens to the others?? How many can they roster, maybe 32 players.
So I was listening to a parent from an opposing team talk about my daughter's club. He said they take existing teams that are about to fold. Who would you guess my daughter plays for? Just a little experiment. LOL
Your daughter plays for a team where the parents have too much time on their hands.
8:10 Could it be MatchFit?
all the parents on this YST have too much time on their hands, including you 9:01
4:12 and you too it seems.
Congrats to both NJ ECNL teams for qualifying for National Playoffs. MF getting the tougher draw. Good luck to both teams.
Hey College coach I didn't play today or dress for the game b/c 18 other girls are better then me. Tomorrow I might get to dress but not sure if I am going to play yet. I really am interested in your program, so please, if you have a 1/2 scholarship or even a 1/4 scholarship left.
Are JU and Copa playing for the EDP NPL final spot? Doesn't even look like all the games were played during the season.
The EDP NPL is a joke. 3 games and you're in the final to see if you make nationals? Expand the league and have 7-8 games and top team goes. That's what almost every other NPL league does in the country.
AND EDP has to beg for fields.
Well it didn't matter because both teams clinched a spot in the final. Copa won 4-1
WOW - it's been a bad year for JU; but still fortunate enough to advance to the "EDP Final" with their 1 big EDP win this year. That sure says a lot about EDP NPL league. What an embarrassment.
And the lucky winner gets to go to Indiana in the middle of July!
Copa Celeste is going to N.C. for the Southeast Regional for a Chance to make the National Cup finals in Indiana? Really? And the Northwest Regional in Washington has a few open slots, I wonder if JU will pop up there for their chance.
Seems ridiculous to travel to NC when Copa is situated 10-15 minutes from PDA where they are hosting the Mid Atlantic Regionals with the winner going to Indiana.
It is ridiculous but teams do it. US Club Nationals is decent competition but the path to get there can be manipulated. Not a lot of fan fare at Nationals either. Region 1 youth soccer regional competition is a much bigger deal.
To June 18, 2015 at 3:17 PMCopa playing going to Region 1 youth soccer regional final which is in the same week with Mid Atlantic Regionals. http://tournaments.usyouthsoccer.org/events/2015-Region-I-Championships/Schedule/U16-Girls/Division+1/
SJA coach up to same s**t again...calling parents or having current players reach out to snag more players...how the heck is he still in business
We at SJA are doing well - I can't believe the coach is looking for a GK and field players- amazing!
What has gone awry with PDA blues and nj rush blue. Both appear to be struggling mightily.
How did Copa qualify for the Region 1 finals?
Blues have always been below average it's just taken this long for people to see it. NJ Rush Blue appear to be doing ok. Copa somehow got the wildcard spot for Region 1, i don't know how they determine the "wildcard" position. Does anyone else know?
Because USYS corruption.
June 19, 2015 at 7:33 pm. Is clearly an idiot! How long have the "Blues" been a team? To make a comment like "it's just taken people this long to see it. " Seals the debate, you take " the prize. "
Blues have been a team for 2 years and accomplished nothing. What am I missing?
How do we surmise that rush blue is doing OK? They've won 3 games in an EPL season where points get posted before the seasons over. Other than that, nothing. When they play at the level commensurate with their points, they are overmatched.I've seen rush do a much better job with the marlton girls. You do however need to have players who are eager to learn and respect the game.
Much better with Marlton girls? Do they even exist on that team or did they fade? One girl only sticks out of that team anyway. Both rush teams aren't very good compared to the amount of points they have. Central rush aka jbelite paid into the cash cow with false dreams because they are still average even with a rush jersey. Moving over was a waste .Talk about loyalty? The same with hamilton rush. The wildcats program was equivalent to what rush south is doing for Hamilton. why pay the cash cow for NOTHING, I don't get it. Matchfit and pda at least have top leagues to play in and licensed coaches. Central is 2nd fiddle to south rush teams who also play direct and poor soccer. Just saying
Maybe sj rush would have been served better had they held the coach tat went on to PDA south. Seems like they were at a high point when he was there. Hamilton rush ? Who are they? Are they rush blue?
Blues have issues because the coach continues to keep players that dont deserve to be on it. I dont know why, maybe parent involvement? Good players have left and gone elsewhere while the Marlboro infusion continues to get the playtime. Always good to be the manager.
This is very specific. You just bashed a 16 year old girl. Way to go.
1:17, I don't read it that way although I see your point. I read it that the Marlboro core received the benefit of the doubt. No on field soccer issues are the players problems, they don't put themselves in the lineup.
Good Luck FC Copa Celeste representing NJ over at USYS Regional Championships this week.Make NJ Proud!!!!
And STA who actually were the State Cup Winners. Best of luck to both teams. Anyone know how Copa got the wildcard? Just curious how that works.
STA must have won the National Division
Yes they won the National Championship Series, I believe they beat Copa in the finals. So I'm wondering how Copa received the wildcard. Not all states have a wildcard there.
Looks like the governing board must have felt that Copa deserved to win, or at a minimum be there to represent NJ.Interesting, Don’t ya think.
4:17pm. I doubt very much that NJYS felt Copa "deserved to win" so they got the wildcard because of it. Opinions don't mean wildcards. A little unfair on STA who won both the NJ State Cup and US Club NJ Cup this Spring.Copa did tie 1-1 and STA won 7-0. Perhaps Copa "deserved" to win their game today so will be awarded a win?!
Copa a joke....should not be there, sure they bought there way in....very shady club...
Copa has the harder bracket, But as the STA parent points out, they won "BOTH" NJ cups.
If STA played in the group copa did then they would have lost all 3 games easily
But they were still able to beat you ? Why so hostile 6:17 ? You got to go to Regionals and now you are still an angry person. The person who said they won both state cups was only speaking the truth. Maybe you should ask the "Governing Board"for a recount. Copa is a good team but you are a nasty person.
As an outside observer, I wonder if you people realize how ridiculously childish you sound!
USNational Cup in Somerset interesting ? 2 groups ? Super group and premier group, why ?
The winner of the Super group moves to the National Cup. The Blues beat NJ Rush Blue. They must have some ECNL guest players that didn't make the trip out west...
Cheap way to go to Nationals. It is disgusting that it is even allowed.
@ 4:39 - LOL; "Cheap way to go?" as opposed to what? It's called the Mid-Atlantic Regional!!! DUMB A$$. They have them in each region and the winners go to Nationals. JU/ STA/ COPA/ RUSH/ etc. they all played it last year and continue to play it. YOU act like your team walked through fire to get your ticket to Nationals. I'm sure all you did is win a few (very few) games in what has become just another watered down tournement, ike the state cup. Just look at the team that participated.
The poster meant having O'Reilly players play with the Blues. But I don't think that is true bc OR usually takes everyone with them and splits up the days.Isn't US Club Nationals completely separate than US Youth Soccer Nationals?
yes OR, did not send any players to Blues nor did any Impact players help them. They most likely played with current team or players they added at tryouts which is legal. Parents are idiots and make any excuse to down PDA or the Blues which is sad . How about NJ RUSH is a terrible club and you joined it chasing the NAME! Both are comparable teams and PDA won today. Deal with it!Its ok to lose, its part of the game. I'm sure you thought the "RUSH WAY" was supposed to win you games or your gotsoccer points. I tried talking to the President about the model, very scary if that's the future of alternate clubs trying to market similar to PDA, MatchFit,Penn Fusion etc. .
No, I meant the US Club Regionals are a disgrace. You could go to Nationals and literally play no one in one tournament. It is possible to tie every match at regionals and qualify for Nationals. Do you think that is ok? Nationals should be reserved for National elite teams. Do you think the Blues are a National elite team? US Club State tournament is tough and there should be no loop hole to get to nationals. It is just another money making tournament.
US Club Nationals "sound" good but in reality it is just another tournament Faaaaaaaaar away. If second class teams can apply to regionals and get into nationals it loses all luster. If they want to do it right then make it so you have to qualify for regionals. Hell, they can even make more money doing it.
Blues Blues Blues sorry we didnt lose lose lose.
" US Club State tournament is tough " sounds like someone trying to justify their state cup title. perhaps the realization that a number of quality teams in NJ did not even participate in the cup is finally registering.
Please enlighten me 2:55 what other 2 teams other than O'Reilly and Match Fit ECNL didnt participate. Everyone is so silly, we all know by now that O'Reilly is the best team in N.J. and then a bunch of good teams that can win on any given day. So just enjoy watching your daughter and stop this silly banter. Can't we be positive once in a while for these teams accomplishments. If Blues wins and goes to Nationals good for them !
OR not going to Virginia
And MF is. Highly impressed that they made it out of that group. Tough. Shocked really, but good for them.
OR only took 23 out of 28 players. 3 of those never dressed for either of the 3 games and could not even sit on the bench. 2 played with Blues today and some rushing home to play in qualifying game for Blues in morning, These are the advantages of being part of a well established club. Many chances and opportunities to play and complete. All is still good in PDA world.
COPA THE BEST AT THIS AGE,JUST PROVED IT THIS WEEKEND....
@ 10:25 - don't be such a idiot. Have you never heard of rosters? Take the time and read the rules for each event and you might get a clue some day. Since you claim to know so much, why not name the #'s of the players that "rushed home" to play for the blues? (players names not allowed of course) While your at it, tell us what happened to JU? are their best players at the National ID camp again?
10:25, you feel that is an advantage? Yes, lets travel, pay for it and have so many players that some are not rostered to play and some are not even allowed to sit on the bench with the team. That really makes a lot of sense. Now, lets rush back and help our C team, actually D now as the Magic have surpassed them, win a tournament that will allow us to pretend to the public that we are capable of playing at a national level. BTW ANY team could have added the same amount of guest players from superior teams and had the same result. No worries though, as the Blues players who normally play are sitting on the bench I am sure they dont care......LOL.
Sorry doubters, you don't have a Blues Clues.
What happened to JU? Lost all 3 games!
they did not care because they know it is a joke of a tournament.
oh so they entered in it to lose all 3 games on purpose?
No. It was a joke about the tournament being a joke and now you have become a joke for not getting it.
Felt so sorry for the 11 Blues players that sat on the bench the whole game. They were lucky the SAC goalie let in two joke goals and the ref missed the clear SAC goal at the start of the second half. They were completely outplayed but that's soccer! The final score doesn't always reflect who was the better team.
Sounds like a sore JU parent that got tired of watch their team fall apart again on the field next to the Blues and could not help but watch PDA instead of their own game - LOL. And since when is hitting the cross bar and bouncing outward away from the goal considered "a clear goal." Obvioulsy it's not, to the officials that get paid to make the calls. Enjoy chasing points at fort dix .
Blues. Enjoy not playing and watching others succeed for you
It's doubtful that Blues players enjoy anything.
YMS has guest players also, so whatever the result = tainted.
There were no O'Reilly girls there.
So if you know that you must be from PDA. Why do they use OR or Impact players anyway? How do you feel about that?
Not sure if they are truely OR players or not. It seems a few have never really been rostered/or played in any games this year. On team ? Maybe?YMS DESTROYED Blues even with guest(or GUESS)OR players. At this age, not sure the benefit of sitting and watching. YMS does have a couple players that played and developed with them for 3 years but recently moved to MD. They do return for games/tourneys and still on active roster. Anyway, be interesting if OR players travel to guest. One thing to guest in back yard in NJ, and another to pay to travel and guest.Be safe out there this weekend.
JU complete kick and run. A lot of talent going to waste
@ 5:45. This is an interesting statement to make, "Not sure if they are truely OR players or not. It seems a few have never really been rostered/or played in any games this year. ". Are you frequently watching Blues games? I doubt it. More importantly, roster is on got soccer for anyone to see. As you will see, it's a large roster. So which ones are from OR that played this week? I call BS on your whole claim. Blues do not use any impact or OR players. All blues players and they managed to perform a lot better then JU against a fast, strong and talented YMS team. YMS had to earn that one goal against the blues as opposed to the 6 against JU.
July 2 9:02pm. New poster here but i know after speaking to Blues parents that PDA as a club is expanding their roster to 26 and including some of the current ECNL players within that number to get them more game time. Many parents are unhappy about it but what can you do when it's your Junior season and it's July when most other teams are set roster wise? Rather their daughter than mine.
PDA has 4 U16 teams. Blues is a disaster due to coaching issues. Coach is never there. They will have 26 on roster next year. Why people would pay to be on that team is beyond me. The team has not developed and probably never will. If the shore team continues to get better Blues will truly be the D team.
My daughter had that coach for ODP. I expected a lot from him but I ended up disappointed. He clearly had favorites. And he disrespected the other girls. Overall it was a bad experience.
9:02That claim is stupid. And not true. Expanding to 26 players!? Really, you sound dumb! If anything select players from North ,shore, south may get rostered with ECNL, like the Keeper from impact; she is already on OR roster. The stuff you people make up is so funny, let players develop.
The question is not who is rostered on PDA but who actually has substantial playing time. Doesn't make a difference whether or not you are rostered. Do you actually play or do you pay to sit on the bench. That has everything to do with development.
July 2, 2015 at 5:45 PM3 YMS players moved to MD? As in Maryland? ???????
The name Alleycats is a joke. Get a real name.
Anyone know the result of the Copa-NEFC final in Indiana?
Copa lost 2-1.
^ in overtime
Thank you 4:16.
^ Thank you too1:48
It was the coaches fault
YMS not attending US Club Nationals? Probably because the other Nationals is the same week. Do they send someone in their place? Blues?
Blues in nationals? Joke. Play a lame tournament, lose and go to nationals?
Wonder if the coach will even be able to make it?
Why can't he develop Blues? They have a huge roster. What's his excuse?
What happened to PDA impact - ranked Some of those players would have been better off on the crew
I don't think PDA Impact cares about their rank on Got Soccer. They did well in the Northeast NPL and have several girls committed to D1 schools. They are just fine.
July 15, 2015 at 11:49 AMGo to the CREW for what purpose? what advantage? You must be joking.I've see both coaches, coach and train haven explored different teams after my daughter left MFA.NO question the players on Impact are in a way better situation. Glad they are getting looks and not worried about gotsoccer points.Has any CREW players committed, if so where?
The University of Wilmington and Arkansas St. University 10:45
LIke they say, there is soccer in college for anybody.
Pompous comment , you better hope that blue hen pipe dream works out
Was I wrong? I don't think so.
D 1 Coaches attending O'R practices to see bench players play and train since they can't see them in games. Offering FULL sCholarships to some. NOT
Hey Copa Parent, why would you blame the coach? Because he didn't play your kid? Hat's off to Copa for getting to the finals after qualifying by winning the very weak EDP NPL league, but they were outplayed most of the game by NEFC while they relied on kick and run soccer with a few individual players trying to dribble through the defense. Copa was lucky to get the early goal and hold on for overtime. NEFC missed many of close shots and Copa struggled to hold onto the ball. NEFC scored early in 1st OT, but there is no golden goal. The end.
8:52 Blue Hens? Seriously? I think my kid can do much better academically than UDel. Maybe you should set your sights a bit higher too.
You would be so lucky to get into UDel and play soccer. That would be a great achievement.
Sorry. Not even a safety school, my friend.
July 16, 2015 at 5:19 PM ----->>> u of wilmington?you mean Wilmington University? new castle DE?independent from U of DE. you know WU is a commuter school right? tuition is 10k because does not include room n board. there is no traditional campus life. might want to get these things right if your kid is going there.
word on the block is that JU is breaking up.. is it true?
July 18, 2015 at 6:32You don't know that for sure. College coaches have also been seen at PDA South training facility, so does that mean, they are coming to see players that don't play much in games for them also. NO!!!Maybe its just the club in general, has a good reputation and college coaches want to see players in a more closer setting. Does your club training sessions have college's attending them?
Yes, all of the JU players have quit and gone elsewhere. The grass appears to greener somewhere else.
where are the JU players going?
That is the million dollar question.
Most of the girls went to PDA. They could use more players apparently.
Anyone know if the goalkeeper for copa is any good
Why do you need to know that?
Believe it or not,Rutgers D1 Temple D1 Monmouth D1 and a couple other coaches from D1 schools all came to multiple practices of a small township team called Winslow. So having coaches come to your practices means your an elite club right? lol
Last time i looked most of the PDA teams have rosters of 25.... Good chance to get seen by colleges then
7:23 BOTH goal keepers are great and for the record, even if they weren't you have no business calling out a particular player on this forum. It's against the rules. It's such a specific position.
6:45 - One of the JU players went to GFP.
Did PDA start a D team with all the JU players then?!
What happened to JU? Why did they fold?
They (Spartans) didn't show up at MSSL Summer College Showcase this past weekend. Screwed up teams that arrived to play them and the college coaches that came to watch players from both teams.
JU forfeited after the first game in the U15 division also.
It took longer than i thought but it finally looks like that organization is falling apart.
Anybody else watch the U16s National Championship between YMS Xplosion and JFC? I'm curious to hear the feedback from the soccer minds on here.JFC beat YMS 3-0 and the game was not even that close. (YMS got a red card after the 2nd goal, but the game was over by then anyways)I wouldn't go as far to say that JFC put on a clinic because YMS has a couple good players, but JFC dominated every facet of the game from start to finish. Their passing, movement, and creativity was of a high level and not surprising that they consistently beat a disorganized back 4 for YMS. One bright spot for YMS was a MF player that appeared to be head & shoulders above her teammates technically, athletically and with fitness. You could argue that she may have been the best player for either team as well for most of the game. One surprising thing was that in a National Final, the YMS coaches did not change their tactics once it became obvious to anyone watching that they were consistently getting broken down by JFC. Maybe I missed it on the video feed. JFC was relentless and it was only a matter of time before they netted a couple of their opportunities. Counting the number of quality chances both teams created, JFC could have easily won 5-1 on the day.Congrats to JFC on winning back to back championships, not an easy task.
YMS Xplosion are now officially the Buffalo Bills of girls soccer.
Even if JU as an organization does not fold completely, the club should be banned (All ages) for at least 3 years from participating in any tournament or showcase for what they did in the U15 and U16 girls groups. Not sure if they did the same in others. It was unfair not to inform the tournaments much earlier that they would not be fielding teams, especially when college coaches were potentially coming to the games. Not only did they did their own players get screwed, they screwed players on the other teams and wasted potential college coaches time.I find it hard to believe that they could speak to their players a week or two in advance to get an idea that they were in trouble with players to give the tournament a chance to replace them.
I agree 11:37. Not sure how far ahead they told the other U16 teams, but in the U15 age group, JU still hadn't officially forfeited the whole tournament. The first team they were to play Sunday morning actually checked out of their hotel early to get to the field to play and were warmed up and waiting on the bench when they found out JU wasn't coming. They did the same thing to the second team they were supposed to play on Saturday. All the JU girls were in their cars on the way home after losing their first game while the team they were to play second waited around after their first game until the game was officially called before the start.Inconsiderate to all the players, families and team/college coaches to say the least.
I don't know how anyone could try and bash YMS? They have made it to the national finals for the last three years without a big roster(14-15)field players. This is amazing in today's day and age when they compete with all the large clubs around the country. Whomever posted this nonsense really does not understand the game and that they actually develop players which is a lost trait in youth soccer today or someone who is just jealous.
My daughter has played with and against YMS players since she was 11. Much credit goes to the team. However, I was shocked when I saw them play Blues last month. Not the same team. Perhaps they were missing some players. I know a few have left for ECNL teams, but not many. The MF you are referring to is National ODP and is committed to Harvard. The only other player that stood out was a very fast winger. Although they may not be as strong as they once were, still a great team.
If you really watched YMS play Blues you might have noticed the girls laughing and having fun on the field. That game was used as practice for Nationals. YMS declined going to Indiana for Nationals. Have you ever watched YMS beat O'Reilly? 3 times. If YMS played at 50% they would have killed Blues.
I did not see any laughing but it certainly looked like they were playing at 50%. So thank you for clearing that up. I knew something was not right.
@ 5:08, YMS used the mid-Atlantic regionals as a practice for regionals ... OK.... But then proceeds to play at 50%? Really, that makes sense to you? How is that preparing? Come on you can't be that dumb, after all you managed to turn your PC on. Besides, they destroyed JU in that event, I assume playing at 50% as well?
Moral of the story, next time take your practice games seriously and play at 100% to be ready for Nationals!
Long time reader, first time poster.@1:50pm - Bashing YMS? Seems like you are referring to the cliff notes version someone posted about the Finals at Nationals between JFC and YMS. Haven't watched the match and doesn't seem like anyone is bashing YMS on here, but rather sharing insights to a game.Yes I agree with you, what they have been able to accomplish with a smaller roster is not common. With the DOC as their Head Coach I'm sure it doesn't hurt either that the team probably receives preferential treatment with training times, allocated practice space and access to resources. They only have 1 Premier team, so why wouldn't they put all their support behind this team? Anything less than making it back to the Finals probably would be considered a failure. Making it to the National Finals, 3 years in a row is not on accident and I applaud YMS on accomplishing that. Although they didn't win State Cup, Regionals or Nationals, they are still back in the National League which everyone should consider a success.
Imagine if they could win something!!!!
Well, JFC is in the ECNL now, so won't have to worry about them.
Anybody know anything about the Match Fit North NPL Team ? Quality etc.?
I wouldn't ask that question on here... do the research yourself. You are only going to get negetaitve feedback from opposing clubs and teams. There are two NPL North teams. One plays in the NY league and the other in the Northeast NPL. The Northeast team appears to be pretty solid... raising in the ranks quite a bit. They have a strong coach.
Neither are top 15 in the State. The NE NPL team is better than the NY NPL team but the NE one plays very direct soccer.
NJSA appears to have taken over the Linden Diamonds and another team, plus Sting... 3 u17 teams. I'm surprised they would be so agressive at this age.
Never too late to earn a buck. The ultimate driving force in youth soccer. Cynical .... Yes. True .... Largely. And now Linden and the other team have a found letter acronym to pretend to their team name hoping to look more credible to college coaches.
What's going to happen in the Fall to the U17 girls that are late 1998 birthday and current Juniors? Who will they play for with the birth date changes going into affect? How many U19/20 good club teams will be available? My daughter will be a senior without a team. Even if she commits to a college this year, who will she train with and play tournaments with and how many college coaches come to see U20 games?! I feel like she has been cheated out of a year of recruiting, as she will have a very hard time being seen her senior year. For the kids looking to play D3, Senior year is where the final commitments are made. We are so upset about this change and don't understand why the oldest teams were not grandfathered in for the upcoming year.
The age group changes will affect the ECNL, as well. I counted 7 or 8 players on the PDA O'Reilly team that are late 1998 birthdays but 2017 grads. They will not be able to play on an U18 ECNL team next year, their senior year of high school. What is the plan for these kids? The ECNL national championship finalist, Star Mass ECNL has 11 girls under this scenario. Surely, the ECNL has a plan to address this?!
I don't think that's technically true 5:11am. Right now in the 2015-16 year everyone is U17 and i doubt any club will be making the changeover to birth year mid season like US Soccer has proposed (ludicrous idea by the way). The switch technically begins Jan 1 2016 but most teams in NJ will put it into effect by Sep 2016. Looking at the link below that means that everyone in a team formed in 2016 should be in U18? Or do the age groups switch over every single year on Jan 1st? So Dec 31st teams are playing U17 and Jan 1st all tournaments etc. get switched to U18? Despite all the information for it online it's still not entirely clear to me!http://usclubsoccer.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/USSF-calendar-year-competition-age-chart-2016-18.png
This is the US Club Soccer link with the exact wording of the changes to come:http://www.usyouthsoccer.org/changes_coming_to_youth_soccer_in_2016/If you scroll down to Calendar Year, you will see it says "Effective August 2017, the grouping of players will also change nationwide, with encouraged adoption of best practices in August of 2016. U.S. Soccer will go back to calendar birth years to align with international standards and Youth National Team programs."Encouraged adoption by Aug 2016 but EFFECTIVE August 2017.
I really think the high school aged girls will play up for a few years. The colleges will be aware of the changes and will come to the u19 games.
