The MF people are getting a little nasty to each other now? And the season has even started yet!!!!!!!!!

What is an ASL MVP?

Anonymous said...

The girl must have played a good game. If I am not mistaken an opposing coach or coaches voted for her during an ASL event. Maybe the girl is a good soccer player and she earned a spot on the team.

Anonymous said...

Doubtful. Head guy told the other coaches who to pick. He wasn't even at the games. It's all a bunch of bs. You have to perform to earn a spot. She didn't. She has a connection plain and simple. It will be interesting to see if she improves or sits.

Anonymous said...

She will need to improve, that is correct. Others deserve it over her, correct. That is youth sports.

Anonymous said...

The other coaches pick the winners of the ASL MVP. Clearly you don't know what good soccer is. Just because someone isn't scoring all the goals doesn't mean they aren't setting up plays, making smart moves, and strong passes. Perhaps this girl is a smart player who they see strong potential in. Maybe your daughter should take a step back and see what it is she is NOT doing.

Anonymous said...

So they chose her as an ASL MVP based on the potential they saw in her? Laughable.

Anonymous said...

No DUH! They chose her for ECNL for that... plus the smart plays, passes, and team work. You can't even understand that. You are laughable!!

Other coaches choose ASL MVP. Clearly you are hoping someone sees in your daughter what you do. BUT, clearly, no one has.

Anonymous said...

If this is who I think it is, get real. Decent player but no better then many others.

Anonymous said...

She will sit on bench at ecnl and quit next season. We all know the 14 and 15 th players always leave.

Anonymous said...

Is O'Reilly seriously considering taking new players or this just going through the motions?

MF is a train reck. Their NPL team will be their left over players that are not valued from their current teams.

Anonymous said...

O'R losing a few bench players, so looking for bench replacements for finance. Probably even expand to 24-26 roster by Spring u-15

Anonymous said...

Why would someone want to expand to 24 players? How would that do anyone any good? (take money out of it)

Anonymous said...

If there are quite a few games you dont want the same girls playing every one.

Keep the training to game ratio proper.

Anonymous said...

ok, so how many games does O'Reilly really play per week? Lets be honest, they are not playing 2 or 3x per week.

Anonymous said...

ecnl rules allow up to 30 roster players. Most have 20-26 players.
Not sure how the playing time goes.
Never can take money out of the equation because that is ecnl. Take the money out of ecnl and they are just another league.

I have seen a new European structure of more games for soccer IQ.

Personally, I like 16 players with two of them goalies(14 field players)
You will find most top level non-ecnl teams using this format to get max game development and exposure for all players.

B team is back up and some B team players will be double roster for flexibility.

Worst thing for any team are the parents of the 15,16th field players. Usually the 17,18 know their place and are happy to just hang around. Anything more then 18 players is pure revenue generating for the club/coach.

Colleges have rosters of 24-30 also because very few play through Junior/Senior year. With max 14 scholarships and the avg is 9 scholarships available, lots of walk ons and practice dummies.
Split the avg 9 scholarships into lots of creative ways to share the money as much as possible. 1 maybe two at most full scholarships on any given team.
Title IX allows for the max 14 scholarships , but most schools only fund for the avg of 9.

Have fun being a stepchild. You're kidding yourself if you think that team will be anything else.

Why are all the BEC players going to Crush, JU, MFit & PDA? Did they not just win State Cup?

Anonymous said...

TR Fusion won NJ Cup and folded.

BEC girls are good players. why not explore other options especially ECNL? some have been there since the beginning. all involved should be proud of their accomplishments.

Stallions coaches/trainers have done a nice job replacing some great players that went to crush, copa and PDA. not many teams have recovered as nicely.

and no, not a bec or stallions parent.

Anonymous said...

I agree that the team has done well. The players are talented so are going to look at programs with college showcase history. As I wrote that I realize that Crush have no history in college placement so maybe there are other reasons. No matter what, good job to all coaches involved with BEC. You were a nice team

Anonymous said...

TR Fusion did not fold. They just put on a Mfit Jersey and didn't win as many games this year. The team made minor changes. They are still one of the top teams in NJ. Sure they will be back strong next season

Anonymous said...

any team the replaces 6 players and adds 4 more....is a new team.

Anonymous said...

Funny Funny, The O'Reilly parent is now on the u-15 blog saying they could beat any u-15 team. Not sure what they drink in NJ, but O'R gets hammer by their own u-15 teams(2) and of Stallions u-15 would roll all over them as it would and should. Dynamite u-15, Princeton are laughing too. And my god the Stars up in MA are a great u-15.
Pretty soon O'R parents will be beating top college programs like Penn State and such in their own minds. lol

Anonymous said...

Actually thats not what I said. Go reread.

The OR could beat and play with 90% of u15 teams.

If you dont believe that then you are mistaken.

to each their own,

Anonymous said...

I guess mistaken because as good as O'R is at u-14 they would fall as just a better then average team in u-15. Big jump to play big time when at u-15 it starts to really count.
O'R a top 5 team in the country at u-14. Just hold your horses son be happy with that. Your own two u-15 teams have fun and play with you guys at some scrimmages/practices, but it is good for them.

Anonymous said...

PDA B Team will be better than MF ECNL team. PDA has outstanding training and better connections with colleges. MF is only in it for the money. They take in tons of full teams for the money. PDA looks for solid, well-rounded players who truley love the sport. If someone was looking for a team that will be successful and give good college opertunities, go to PDA B team

Anonymous said...

Not another B team money scam team. Sounds like MF is trying to be pda with all the money teams.

B team is the B team, not the A team.

Hey coach, I am on the B team. A team has 22 roster girls and I can not make it, so I am on the Bteam with another 20 or so girls to finance the A team, but please come and see me play. at least I am not a practice dummy player(players 16-22) on A team.

Anonymous said...

Saw an O'R player walking down the street. Hey why are you not playing today? Only 18 players dress for games and I did not make it this week.

Bet pda cashed Daddy's check.

Anonymous said...

6:07 I have to disagree. I have a son at PDA and a daughter at MF. Both outstanding clubs. My middle one didn't make the ECNL team at MF and wouldn't make O'Reilly. I'm trying to decide which "B" team to go with, or keep her where she is now another year. Tough decision.

I remember O'R used to play up in Jags and win. I'm pretty sure they could beat most u15 teams.

I did also see that they tied FCBucks this weekend. That's not a usual. Starters at a camp this weekend???

Anonymous said...

Bucks out played O'R and for the first time since being beat by YMS, O'R looked scared. Bucks hit cross bar and had an OS called goal and clearly should have won instead of tied.
O'R had at least 10 girls sitting on bench so I think they were full, but ecnl teams always carry lots of players and by league rules can have up to 30 players on roster.
I suggest a B team where she will start. Hope she does not want to play at next level, because she will be just hiding when stashed on b team. Do not know many colleges looking for B team players, but there is always Community College where she could play a have fun. Daddy can even come to most games.

Anonymous said...

Most of Bucks are playing up a year, so to tie pda O'R is great for them.

pda did not look like the team I expected from comments here. The starters must have all been at the Penn State camp for top u-14 college bound players this weekend.?

Anonymous said...

Don't worry.....my daughter won't need to play at community college. She is definetly not on the B team when it comes to academics. There are plenty of D3 colleges who will love to have her. And Daddy will be at most of those games.

Is there a difference between the B teams of MF and PDA, and the A team of JU and Cops??

Anonymous said...

Once a Bteam player, and goes on to Bteam in life. Find the best A team,
and teach your daughter to compete against other A teams.
Just not an A team player and just get can't an A in school and Daddy this new boyfriend is not the best but plan B.

Anonymous said...

To answer 11:06
No difference on MF or pda B teams.

Anonymous said...

Idiots, all of you. You are suggesting that the non ecnl MF teams are B teams. Lets play that game. You are now suggesting that these players should leave those teams to play on an A team and learn how to play against A teams. If there are 200 A teams in NJ the MF B team could compete or beat 190 of them on a regular basis.

Anonymous said...

Sorry your daughter did not make the A team.

Anonymous said...

Actually, my daughter does play for an A team but I am smart enough to know that A means nothing if they cant compete with other teams. Your response only proves to me that you have no logical reply.

Anonymous said...

A team
A team A team
A team A team
A team A team
A team A team A team
A team A team
A team A team
A team A team

Anonymous said...

So you are on a losing A team?
Help make your A team better. Oh my, what a new concept?

But go ahead and jump ship and let your daughter join a new team that is a B team and when she is the new girl and does not play like you want, then soccer ends for YOU, because she just quit! nice plan

Anonymous said...

Extremely difficult to move at u-15. Girls are already together and any new player is a threat that the girls can band together against instead of each other. Remember playing time is critical at this age. Have to be a starter and impact player to move successfully.

But I like the idea of making every effort to improve your existing team.

Anonymous said...

Joining a new team is always a difficult situation. You need to earn your playtime, but if you are a good player it will work out.

Anonymous said...

Does anyone know about NJX Milan? A decent team? Coach?

Anonymous said...

Coach is very good and technically based. Team is decent and can play with most teams in NJ. Like most lower cost teams, has a good core and drops of quickly. These teams could add a player or two and be for real, or lose a player or two and fall off the map.

Anonymous said...

Actualy that sounds le 99% of All teams, regardless of cost. Are they still NJX or Matchfit?

Anonymous said...

Any opinions on SJ Elite U14 vs NJ Rush U14 ... my daughter has tried out for both teams and we are wondering about the coaches. No parents willing to talk at practice.

Anonymous said...

Where did the NJX players end up? Did any of them make ECNL? Pre ECNL? Stayed on Milan? Just curious.

Anonymous said...

i was told milan was staying intact.

they are part of MF in the fall.

Anonymous said...

To the poster who was asking about NJ Rush vs. SJ Elite....Both teams are good. I would give the edge to NJ Rush as they have beaten them every time they have played the past 12 months according to Got Soccer. The coach is very very good for NJ Rush and the record speaks volumes as to what he has done to develop this team. 20 Wins, 9 draws, and 7 defeats per got soccer info. This team is legit. SJ Elite is good as well so I have nothing negative to say about them.

Anonymous said...

Nj Rush coach is very good. They are very close to being an elite team. Much higher ceiling than SJ Elite. Recent games have not been very close as Rush controlled or dominated the play.

Anonymous said...

Both SJ Elite and NJ Rush are good teams. NJ Rush is very good. Not taking anything away from SJE, but Rush coach has these girls playing very intelligent, attrative attacking soccer. You see more sophisticated soccer movement off the ball with the Rush girls than a lot of other teams this age. Kudos to the coach who has taken this stable of big, fast and powerful girls and appears to be turning them into soccer players, albeit still a over-the-top brutish at times. Nonetheless a quality team.

Anonymous said...

So, did anyone make the O'Reilly team?

Anonymous said...

O'R needs money so they added two players. One might get some playing time, the other will sit and sit and sit, and leave at end of year. Normal stuff.

Anonymous said...

I hope you are not correct. Look, players do sit it happens, but if YOU know already that they took 2 players then you must be on the team. You are already bashing them? Didn't tryouts end last night?

Anonymous said...

Did PDA say when then would make their offers for the new North team and for O'Reilly ?

Anonymous said...

Offers are out and done. Only one of those girls accepted. The sitter will sit and sit and the one that may play some decided to go else to start. Over.

Anonymous said...

2:48. Thanks.

It seems you are answering about O'R when you talk about sitters.

I am also, and actually more, interested in the new PDA North team. Have the offers gone out for that team as well ?

Anonymous said...

Oh, you mean the B team in the North.

Really?

Anonymous said...

Yes, the B team in the north that is the B team to one of the best teams in the country. How bad would that really be? Will they get training? Do you really think they wont get exposure? I live in Ocean county and I just cant make that drive, but I wish I could.

Anonymous said...

Lets not go through the B team thing again. Be happy and play B team and pay higher taxes(I mean fees). OPPS !
the IRS might question me.
Can't make the 24-26 player roster on A team and do not start on B team.
Try girls lax, or fencing. or get straight C's and be an IRS agent. OPPS there I go again.

Why work?
Welfare , food stamps, free Obamacare
and free phones and transportation allowance, can bring in about 50,000 without working. Add a child credit at 11,000 per kid and BINGO. or is it LOTTO! and didn't have to buy a ticket. Even Newark downtown residences are getting SANDY money.

Anonymous said...

9:31 - you are on the wrong blog

Anonymous said...

Are you suggesting that the PDA Oreilly team is picked already? What about the tryout they had?

Anonymous said...

All top PDA teams are picked prior to tryouts. If they want you on a top team then they would already be pursuing you.

Anonymous said...

Post is true. No one out of the prior eyesight of the coaches had a chance. That's just not how it is done. I don't know when you will find out about the second team but if you have not heard by now I would suggest starting to look elsewhere.

Anonymous said...

PDA emails are out.

Anonymous said...

Is MF still holding tryouts?

Anonymous said...

PDA tryout is over. Only for the players select to the team will meet again next week.

Anonymous said...

3:02pm. Was that sentence in English?

Anonymous said...

MF is always taking on players. Especially now since none of the NJX players took spots on the second team. They all felt entitled to the ECNL team and when that didn't happen they all headed for the hills.

Anonymous said...

Cant say I didn't see that one coming, but where did the NJX girls wind up?

Anonymous said...

3:05, i was told 2 months ago that Milan wanted to stay intact so that makes your infomation incorrect.

Anonymous said...

8:42
Dear NJX parent: I know for a fact that I'm NOT incorrect. Your head woman said that she expected Milan to be accepted to ENCL. When that didn't happen (big surprise) they all split up and headed for other teams. Too bad. :(

Anonymous said...

Can anyone tell me anything about real shore Lakewood soccer and especially anything about the coach. I think his last name is Lyons? Thanks for any info.

Anonymous said...

So their coach thought the whole team was entitled to ECNL? That seems very unlikely. I actually know 3 NJX girls who didn't even try out for the ECNL team. If the above poster is indeed a parent, wouldn't they know if the team is still intact???

Lakewood is not a top team, so there is not much talk about them here. That doesn't mean they aren't a commendable club though. I don't know anything about them.

Anonymous said...

10:12, you are way smarter than 5:13.

as usual, the future will tell which information posted here was correct.

Anonymous said...

Why would girls head for the hills if they didn't make the ECNL team? T

he Northeast Girls NPL starts up in the fall for all the Northeast ECNL teams. Kind of like a reserve league. The winner advances to play for a national title at the Champion Cup for all the NPL winners.

Anonymous said...

10:12 and 9:31: Smart? How about knowledgeable. No one "tried out for the ECNL team" per se. The entire tryout process was to place players on the appropriate level team. So the "3 NJX girls who didn't tryout for the ECNL team" isn't correct. If they were at the tryout they were evaluated for all the teams. (If they didn't show up, different story).

Now of course in hindsight, we all know that the political machine was in full force and it didn't really matter if they were qualified for ECNL or not. They picked who they wanted based on relationships and promises and the rest fell where they did. Thats the sucky part of youth soccer in America.

Anonymous said...

Who you know is everywhere. ODP, club, Academy, HS, it is everywhere.

Anonymous said...

smarter---> If the above poster is indeed a parent, wouldn't they know if the team is still intact???
If the above poster is indeed a parent, wouldn't they know if the team is still intact???

I was told that Milan wanted to stay together as did the NJX U15 team also moving to MF for the fall. If this is the case than the ECNL tryouts are irrelevant for them.

I find it hard to believe that ANY coach could expect their entire team to fill the ENCL roster. Totally unrealistic.

Anonymous said...

My daughter as at PDA tryouts last week. Did they already make their decisions on PDA north team?

Anonymous said...

If your daughter was really there (I suspect she was not) you would know the answer.

Anonymous said...

Call back for final roster is for tomorrow. Only 27 girls are call back for 24 spot and top 3 will go to O'R.

Anonymous said...

how would the njx coach even know what is going on? never there. missed the tryout, manhattan tournament and missing delco.

Anonymous said...

How would you know that there are 27 girls for call backs? How would you know that the top 3 will go to O'R? Keeping 24? Just more made up information.

Anonymous said...

Oooh. It sounds like everything isn't so ROSIE in happy INTACT NJX Mlan land, now is it. This must be from a current unhappy intact Milan parent. lol

Anonymous said...

Why would a teams issues be funny to you?

Anonymous said...

24 players on roster is too many. ecnl allows up to 30 but most at 24,25. How's the playing time compared to $$$ thing working out for you.

Anonymous said...

24 is stupid, no matter how you look at it. With that being said, PDA will not have 24.

Anonymous said...

I hope not. Love to hear what promises are made to the 19th,20th,21st,22nd,23rd, and 24th players. Once your check is cashed you can practice with us.

Anonymous said...

Players who take spots on teams with a roster above 17-18 kids are just wasting their time. It just means you belong on a lower level team but are willing to pay for saying I am on the A team. ECNL is unreal with allowing the roster size they do but again its not their fault if parents pay to not even play. The only way you get better is playing against the best teams and that will never happen if you are a roster player only. The other fact is you will not even be seen!! Save the money for your kid because they will need it..

Anonymous said...

If you want to use MF ECNL team as an example. If they carry 24 players, do you really think that any player or parent thinks their daughter is #18 or below? They wont know for sure until 3-6 months go by. If they stay the 2nd year, well that would be an issue.

Anonymous said...

My point was that if the roster is over 18 players the team is not about developing players but rather using the roster spots as funding needs. I have coached and its very hard to use more than 18 players in an postive way and win.
