(TRYOUT held @ Red Bulls Stadium)
http://www.mlssoccer.com/sueno

Calling all aspiring soccer pros! Major League Soccer is searching for the best undiscovered young talent in the U.S. Just register for one of our three upcoming Sueño MLS tryouts (listed below), and get ready to show your stuff to our professional players, coaches and scouts. But hurry! Each city has only 400 available spots.
Now celebrating its eighth year, Sueño MLS 2014 presented by Allstate is a national competition, hosted locally in coordination with three MLS Clubs, to identify the best undiscovered, amateur soccer player in the United States. The program, which is a free, open tryout, will culminate in a six-day “National Final” at The Stubhub Center, in Carson, CA. Up to 400 tryout spots will be made available in each host city on a first come, first serve basis. A waiting list will be available for those who are not able to register for the initial spots.
In each city, players will be battling for one of five outfield player invitations to a week-long trial with their respective youth development academy host Club and an invitation to the exciting “National Final”. The Finals will include training sessions, scrimmages, guest celebrity scouts, and an opportunity to meet some of the League’s biggest stars. For the fourth year, Sueño MLS will also feature an award for the best Goalkeeper in each city who will compete for the Allstate “Good Hands®” top goalkeeper award - El Portero Allstate de Sueño MLS. The ultimate champion will be crowned on live on Univision’s “República Deportiva”.
Eligibility
Eligible players must be males between the ages of 14 and 17 years old (born between dates of January 1, 1997 and April 18, 2000) with appropriate identification and retain their amateur status. As a program dedicated to identifying the best undiscovered youth talent in MLS markets, all participants must not be or ever have been a part of an MLS academy system to be eligible.

Who won the Den of Lions / SSC game today? Score?

Anonymous said...

Anybody care to share any knowledge about TSF? How they play, how they attack, etc. Thanks.

Anonymous said...

Concerning the MLS Sueno, is this competition only for players with a Latin American background? It has been in the past.

Anonymous said...

Is it legal to hold a competition geared towards one race? Seems like discrimination.

Anonymous said...

Ask Howell about TSF

Anonymous said...

6-1 result posted Marlboro over jersey Premier. Doesn't sound like it was close, a bit surprising

Anonymous said...

Congratulations Marlboro. Looking forward to the Marlton game. Pretty much as expected here. So we'll likely get SDFC and SSC in the other semis. Final should be good no matter how you slice it with those four.

Anonymous said...

Agree both really good games of soccer which will represent nj well. I'm still picking Marlton over Marlboro 3 1 and SSC over sdfc in pks. Marlton will get beat by 1 in the finals with SSC winning 3 to 2

Anonymous said...

SSC 1 - 1 Hudson, last minute goal from SSC to tie it up nice job

Anonymous said...

8:54 seems plausible across the board.

Anonymous said...

SSC playing too inconsistent to win 2 in a row vs quality. SDFC will end their run

Anonymous said...

All TSF do is defend as a unit then try and play it up to their striker.

Anonymous said...

Marlton has ended their retreat and back to their self adulatory style.

Anonymous said...

SSC tie to Hudson. Hudson back or SSC looking ahead to SDFC. Any idea what happened there?

Anonymous said...

Does anyone know where the SDFC/SSC semi final game is to be held?

Anonymous said...

Don't get ahead of yourself, it is only a quarter final match.

Anonymous said...

Do I get a refund on my SDFC vs SSC ticket? SDFC has forfeited their game vs Jersey Knights! Afraid of SSC, ineligible player or turmoil?????

Anonymous said...
This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.
Anonymous said...

I would love to know what happened there. Anyone???

Anonymous said...

SDFC, come on now, you have parents on this site all the time. No reply? No reason? I hope it isn't something horrible.

Anonymous said...

I heard SDFC is going to England...

Anonymous said...

There you go. Shows your kids how to honor a commitment. Maybe they expected to lose earlier. SSC, consider this your Christmas gift because you are now in the finals.

Anonymous said...

I am sure everyone would love the gossip to be a little more Days of Our Lives, but SDFC pulled out of the NJ Cup as they qualified for the Region 1 Premier League play-offs in Delaware that weekend.

Anonymous said...

Poor management. They should have realized this conflict was a possibility. Don't bastardize a state cup.

Anonymous said...

"poor management" YOUR AN IDIOT!

Anonymous said...

SDFC is starting to show the many cracks they bubblegum the team together with.

Anonymous said...

There is absolutely no reason to for fit the game. Other than poor scheduling and they obviously didn't think they were going to make it to the final anyway so they bailed. Shame on you SDFC for wasting everyone's time and trying to have another excuse to why you didn't win the state cup. If you are as good as you claim you would easily win both cups and the EDP.

Anonymous said...

So much bs talking on here. Simple fact is that SSC is the undisputed double cup winner until one of our teams beat them and take the cup. I'm hoping my team is the next winner personally. Until then the heavyweight belt is theirs. So stop complaining, giving theories and concentrate I'm winning the title for your team.

Anonymous said...

What is the Region 1 Premier League? Isn't EDP the highest league a team can play in?

Anonymous said...

Marlton over SSC in NJ Cup final.

Anonymous said...

SDFC "qualified" for Region 1 Premier League play-off in Delaware and you have the audacity to blame it in poor management. Seriously? I'm sure the commissioner for the NJ Cup was notified or should at least have known the conflict beforehand. Yet the team is to blame, not the commissioner? Nevertheless, since obviously your team did not qualified, maybe now you can call the commissioner and take SDFC place.

Anonymous said...

SDFC is the only team from NJ in the semi finals of the Region 1 Premier League. Good luck to them. They are still in the running for the NJYS State Championship. There is nothing wrong if they have to pull out of the NJ Cup to be in the Region 1 tournament. Guess where college coaches will be that particular weekend? Good job to the players and coach.

Anonymous said...

5:53 Ask your coach to enlighten you about the Region 1 league. There goes Marlton again. I really wish your team scrapes out a win so you can go on your retreat again.

Anonymous said...

It is negligent to state that these comments are coming from Marlton. We know what NPL is and we wish SDFC the best. You guys really need to stop with the Marlton bashing. It is getting embarrassing for you.

Anonymous said...

SDFC had 2 weeks to play the game. Poor management

Anonymous said...

SDFC is to blame. It wasn't important enough to them and they should be banned from next years cup

Anonymous said...

FYI - SSC was also invited to play in the EDP national league but declined the offer. Just saying

Anonymous said...

It is pretty lame to go this far in a two month tournament and then stop. Could care less about them as a team, but now someone else gets to the next round incorrectly. It's not like this is the first round or two where it matters less. Poorly managed on their part. They had two weeks to get the next game in and the semi/final dates have been set for weeks.

Anonymous said...

Who else is left in this tournament.

Anonymous said...

Honestly Hudson is not a bad team they just lack something if you look at there stats they have been playing against top teams and either they have been tieing or losing by a goal it shows that they are capable at least..

Anonymous said...

I think it is unfair and disrepectful to Jersey Knights to just assume SDFC would go through. Maybe SDFC qualified through to face Stronghold (again, unfair on STA). SDFC and SSC do not need to play a 3rd time this year. Maybe the blog boys care more about this rivalry than SDFC and Stronghold, but the nj cup game won't happen and I think both teams are ok with that.

Get good training, win some games, lose some games, get good grades and maybe your kid will play in college. Not one college coach will care about any of these games tho.

Good luck to everyone

Anonymous said...

Thank you SDFC coach. Beg out of a tournament because you can't plan a schedule. Shameful.

Anonymous said...

I think SDFC should invite the winner, finalists and third spot team of this NJ Cup and create a weekend tournament with college coaches to be invited.....

Anonymous said...

The sky is orange, the earth is brown and round. Soccer and golf is like a clown.

Anonymous said...

College coaches, Hahahahahahahah. they don't have the time or budget to worry about you. It is soccer, no one cares about college soccer. Girls have more rope because schools need to give girls equal money.

Anonymous said...

How can you blame the coach when the leagues mandate when the semi final games and final games are to be played?

The teams that qualified from the NJ/PA area (SDFC, Penn Fusion & YMS) for the region1 semi finals just found out this past Sunday

Would it have been better for SDFC to play Galacticos and possible advance to the semis against the winner of SSC/Morris United and then be faced with the same decision & have to choose between NJ Cup Semis or Region 1 semi's because both are scheduled on the same day. Obviously their focus is on Region 1. Knowing that they made the decision to bowed as soon as they qualifed for Region 1 and let Galacticos continue to advance and have their run at the cup.

SDFC is still in the NJYS cup and will be playing SSC this Sunday.

Anonymous said...

It is unbelievable at how many uneducated individuals there are on this site that think individual team coaches can control when an youth soccer sanctioning organization schedules their tournaments or leagues semi final/final games.

Anonymous said...

SSC wishes SDFC the best of luck at the Region 1 Premier League Semi finals/Finals. Looking forward to our game this Sunday.

Anonymous said...

3:29 Why should SSC consider it a X mas gift? Do you think SDFC the only competitive out there? Furthermore, SSC won both Cups last year and SDFC was in both , so why should it be such a gift?

Anonymous said...

9:03 I highly doubt that SSC thinks of it as an Xmas Gift. These are individuals making deliberate posts to create the illusion the SSC and SDFC dislike each other. In reality, SSC and SDFC respect each other and enjoy the rivalry.

Anonymous said...

Any thoughts on the Morris / Falcons matchup? Very hard to score on Morris. They do not score much either.

Anonymous said...

Region1 league had this date and fields covered long before last week.

NJ Cup had the date set and fields set long before last week.

SDFC, choose one. You knew it was a potential conflict therefore you mismanaged it. Stupid is as stupid does.

Anonymous said...

SDFC you entered the competition, so obviously it meant something to your team. Now you downplay NJ US club cup and put more emphasis on Region I and that is fine, but fact is you had two weeks to get this game in, you simply mismanaged it. Then you trumpet how you are the only NJ team in region I. Do you honestly think you are the only team in NJ that can play in that league? Did it ever dawn on you that maybe you are the NJ team in it simply because SSC declined ? After all , wasn't it SSC who won both Cups and reached regional semi with Penn Fusion, not you?

Anonymous said...

Wonder why the NJ teams are always at one another's throat. Maybe SDFC did not think they would make it to the semis in Region 1, but they did and there is a conflict with the NJ cup games. They decide to play one and not the other. Why are some people creating a furor over it? Let those kids be, and wish them luck.
My son does not play for them.

Anonymous said...

Region1, where you travel ridiculously long distances to play 2 games and then drive home. Competition is no better then EDP so why do it?

Anonymous said...

I am an SSC dad and we had a conflict last year and had to make a decision between regionals at Rhode Island and ongoing US club competition. We opted for Rhode Island regionals. SDFC is in the same boat, and its simply their decision. I will also echo what was said earlier. There is a fierce rivalry NOT a problem between these two teams. Most on here , don't know the difference. Because of our rivalry, we wish them good luck in every game, except for when they play us!

Anonymous said...

Well said 11:17.
As for 11:03, check out most of the teams playing Region 1. Look at their games history, win %, etc? Should tell you competition is stiffer than EDP.

Anonymous said...

11:29 Region One is not worth the time spent traveling, IT JUST IS NOT. The level of comp vs travel = a losing situation.

Anonymous said...

Please don't think it is a great honor that SDFC is the only team in Region1, there are many NJ teams that could be if they chose too. It is still a great opportunity for SDFC, but they made the decision to join.

Anonymous said...

10:18 - wrong, wrong, wrong...that's not how game scheduling works. There is no opportunity to "get the game in" when you make it to the semi finals of a tournament - whether it's Regionals, NJ Cup, or State Cup. The semi finals and finals dates are set well in advance. There's no flexibility to "get the game in". You either play 2 games in one day if you're able to make the semi-finals or forfeit one and play the other.

Anonymous said...

Agreed 11:17.

Anonymous said...

9:49...same bozo comment as 10:18

Anonymous said...

11:35,11:29 here. Point is well taken.

Anonymous said...

Move past SDFC, they are not dominant and can be beaten. As a fact U15 NJ has NO dominant team. Many very good teams but none are dominant and can be beaten on any given day. Galacticos are smiling today.

SDFC beware...

Championships Finals, *******teams participating in the NL must also participate in their respective
State Cup competition*******, as well as their respective Regional Cup competition should the team
qualify, and the top regional league of each region should the team qualify.

Anonymous said...

Uh-oh. It is really getting serious here. SDFC, keep a low profile.
At this point there are no dominant teams for NJ U15 Boys.
Waiting for next season. Will see what that brings.

Anonymous said...

12:59 if you information is correct it seams that SDFC will be disqualified and will not be elagable for the national finals. Great research and I'm sure someone will inform the NL administration to sink SDFC!

Anonymous said...

We seem to be missing the fact that SDFC could've and still can play galacticos. Why assume they would win? Why forfeit? Play the game maybe you lose and all goes away.

Anonymous said...

you can print all the info and rules that you want, but it won't change the fact that US Club cups are tournaments and those who run the tournaments want teams and CA$H.Even if they were both knocked out, SDFC and SSC would be accepted to US club regionals/ nationals based on their track record, past state cups, and most of all willingness to go and PAY!!!

Anonymous said...

Your point? You don't explain why the chose not to play. Maybe fearful if a loss?

Anonymous said...

Meaningless to who? Is it meaningless to the Galacticos who don't get to play a game. Is it meaningless to the winner or the SSC/Morris game who now play a team that didn't earn their spot. Is it meaningless to the tournament, which now has a cloud hanging over it? It is only meaningless to those that didn't care, those happen to have SDFC on their chests.

Anonymous said...

NJYS 1/4 finals this weekend

SDFC vs SSC SDFC will win (if they don't forfeit)

Marlboro vs Hudson Marlboro will win but will be close

Jersey Knights vs Holmdel Holmdel in a shootout, Jersey Knights too busy celebrating their NJ Cup victory.

Marlton over Den of Lions in a big way. Not even close here.

Anonymous said...

10:26 pretty funny, seriously made me laugh

Anonymous said...

Thank you all for supporting SDFC going on to regional finals. As a parent, we appreciate your kind words and wished to have seen more NJ teams be part of it. I too wished we could continue on with the NJ Cup, but I respect the decision made by the club management. The comment from 8:50 am is particularly rough and uncalled for. The boys, whom carry the SDFC on their chest care more then you will ever know. I'm sure you are not insulting the boys.
As for the rivalry between SSC and SDFC is great. Both team know they want to win and both leave everything on the field. I'm really looking forward to the game......by the way there are still tickets available as they opened up another section at the stadium. Lol...

Anonymous said...

Welcome back from fantasy land. The only support you got was from SDFC parents. No one else or at least very few, agree with what you did. Bottom line, it could have been handled differently and you assumed you would have won the 1/4 final game. You are correct that it isn't the boys, I am sure they wanted to play the game and would have but were told NO. Management/Coaches shame on you.

Anonymous said...

There is no way SDFC could have handled this situation perfectly once they progressed in both tournaments. Given the option between US Club or NJYS they have opted to follow the NJYS route. SDFC will not be the first team to have a conflict like this and won't be the last.

They could have not entered the tournament like they didnt last spring. This would have meant they were chickens. They could have played the game against Jersey Knights and won and this would have given SSC a bye in the semi-final of a this tournament which holds such prestige.

The only people who really should have a gripe are NJX and NJ Force as they had to play SDFC in the earlier rounds. If you want to argue that point in trying to be fair to them then you have a point. But whatever is said isn't going to change what's been decided.

Sorry if this makes too much sense. I will be sure to make sure my next comment belittles someones team, their players and their coaches dont worry.

Anonymous said...

Smart point about knocking people out in the earlier rounds and what that means to them. I guess if they lost though (as they did) it still has the same outcome as they were not the "better" or guess I should say "best" team that will eventually win the tournament. Get all sides of this but still seems like poor planning on sdfc's part no matter how you slice it.

Anonymous said...

"Sorry if it makes too much sense". Well don't you have a high opinion of yourself and your thoughts. They should NOT have applied, if they didn't there would be no conflict. They created the problem, they are the problem and you refuse to see the problem.

Anonymous said...

Who is this a problem for? NJ Cup don't have a problem, Jersey Knights don't have a problem, Stronghold/STA don't have a problem?

Anonymous said...

Maybe the commissioner would agree to have NJX and NJ Force play each other and the winner plays Hudson. I think that would be fair.....specially if the same scenario occurs in the future for any other team.

Anonymous said...

Either way, SDFC is bashed for their NJ Cup situation. They enter and cant commit or don't enter and get called chickens (like comment 4:51).

Anonymous said...

Who cares anymore what's done is done let's get back to talking about the teams that are still In the cup an have a shot!

Anonymous said...

2 people, or the same person twice said that by not entering they would be called chickens.
#1 who calls anyone a chicken
#2 there are top teams that didn't apply for both SC competitions this year and I don't recall anyone calling them out on it. They had their reasons and they were respected for it. They managed their schedules properly.
#3 So SDFC, it CAN be handled properly.

Anonymous said...

I agree 100% with 8:01. Shame on you for standing your opponent up!!!

Anonymous said...

My predictions
Holmdel will beat Jersey Knights in a close match, but neither team is really that good.

Marlton will beat DOL, quite handily

SDFC will beat SSC by 2 and I don't think it will be as close a game as people think.

Hudson will beat Marlboro. I was wrong when after the Howell game I said Marlboro had a zero chance of winning another game but their magic carpet ride is about to end.

Anonymous said...

SSC knocked STA out of the state cup tonight !!!!

Anonymous said...

Score ?

Anonymous said...

Morris United controlled the entire game and was up 2-1. SSC scored late in the 2nd half to tie it at 2-2 and send it to extra time. SSC ultimately won in a pk shootout.

Anonymous said...

Morris did not control the game at all. Their first goal was on a goalie error. Their striker should have gotten a red card for blatantly knocking kids down from behind when they didn't even have the ball. They also have a fast defender that played very dirty and should have also received a red card for hurting 4 players. If you call that control then you know nothing about soccer. It's a game of skill and a boxing match. It was a very physical game.

Anonymous said...

SSC crying now. Not dominating. Bitching in a win. Barely winning games. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Anonymous said...

Ssc was the better team vs Sta they found a way to tie the game with less than 2 minutes in regulation, all their players made their penalty shots.. great teams find ways to win.. That's why they the defending champions..

Anonymous said...

SSC used to have higher standards. Now they bitch and complain.

Anonymous said...

STA used to be a team that tried to play, now all they are a kick and run Team..

Anonymous said...

was just at turf farm for friend's daughter's game and happened to see SJEB vs. IB starting up. have a son who used to play up in this age group so I know the teams a bit, but what is going on with IB? looked like they only had 10 players, and didn't see head coach or many players I've seen before on that team. it was 5-0 at half, don't know final result, but IB seemed like completely different team.

Anonymous said...

Because they are. IB is not good. Should have watched your "friends daughter"

Anonymous said...

After the state cups, how should the top ten look in nj? SSC still number 1 if they don't win either?

Anonymous said...

1. Ssc
2. Sdfc
3. Marlton
4. Marlboro
5. Sjeb
6. Morris united
7. PDA
8. Iron Bound
9. Hudson
10. Howell

Anonymous said...

Decent ranking.

Anonymous said...

Iron bound????????

Anonymous said...

Yeah that one seems off base. I did not catch that...

Anonymous said...

I did the recent top ten haven't see them play recently that's my opinion but who should replace them?

Anonymous said...

There goes your credibility.

Anonymous said...

Marlton beats DOL 5-1

Anonymous said...

SDFC 1 -0 over SSC.

Anonymous said...

Howell dad u r wrong again. Hudson goes down

Anonymous said...

ssc ain't #1

Anonymous said...

1-0 is not a great accomplishment and just sounds like SDFC barely squaked out the win. However it's a win and with all the SDFC chatter it was probably a lucky shot.

Anonymous said...

Let's not forget that SSC has to starters out for injuries that I assume impacted the result in today's game.

Anonymous said...

Really stronghold, you are going to take that route? What a sore loser Congrats SDFC

Anonymous said...

no one who watched that game would say it was a "squeak by" for sdfc. ssc was fortunate to have lost by only 1 goal. the first half was complete domination by sdfc in terms of possession and shots on goals. it could have been a bad day for ssc, but sdfc and ssc have played too many times to chalk it up to that. ssc is a very good team and it's a great rivalry and both teams highly respect each other. but "squeak by" is crap comment. sdfc did not squeak by. it was not close.

Anonymous said...

As always SSC, great game between us. It is always great futbol when these boys compete against each other.

Anonymous said...

great game indeed. 2 very good teams

Anonymous said...

5:48 u sound ridiculous on multiple levels.

Anonymous said...

Meant to add, 5:50, seriously?? Lame.

Anonymous said...

You won by one goal. You squeezed out a win. Still won but not dominant. Dominant is winning by 4-5 goals

Anonymous said...

good try 5:48; lob a molotov in there to get it going; "must have been a lucky shot"; google Pirlo; nice job to ssc and sdfc

Anonymous said...

Sounds like a whole lot of SSC Sour Grapes!

Anonymous said...

Dominant is what SSC is not.

Anonymous said...

I assure you that there are no SSC parents talking smack. It's obvious that there is a instigator out there. Both teams fought very hard and the result went to SDFC. They are a very good team and won a hard fraught game today.

Anonymous said...

You can assure us how.

Anonymous said...

Jersey Knights proving they deserve to be there. Maybe SDFC forfeited for a reason

Anonymous said...

Because they beat NJX? That's funny.

Anonymous said...

Knights are a good team and have worked hard to get to this point Knights know their limitations but give them am deserved credit

Anonymous said...

Further, if my numbers are correct jersey knights, marlton and Marlboro are all in the semis of both state cups. That alone says a lot

Anonymous said...

Good luck against Marlton and SSC! If you win than you deserve to be with the big boys.

Anonymous said...

Marlton beat galacticos 3 1 and SSC bet galacticos 2 1 in extra time

Anonymous said...

What is the point of the above post?

Anonymous said...

9:11 ur point is a little off. No disrespect to the knights, but they got into that one semi given a withdraw from another team. Nothing they had control over, but let's keep it real. Good for them though getting to this point either way though.

Anonymous said...

You have a problem with SDFC NOT the knights

Anonymous said...

When and where are the NJYS finals played?

Anonymous said...

I just had a chance to read all the BS on this forum. My son plays for la Newark team. The right and honest opinion from experience is that SDFC won an tough game but did not dominate their opponent. A 1-0 win shows that a team win by better luck.

Anonymous said...

Who cares where your son plays. How does it factor into your comment?

Anonymous said...

Which Newark based team would even have the basis of information on the top teams today? There is no competitive team currently playing out of Newark.

Anonymous said...

Congratulations to the final four in each of the State cup competitions.

The following 3 teams are in the final four for BOTH state cups, job well done by all:

Marlton
Marlboro
Jersey Knights

SSC and SDFC are also in one each. Good luck to all of the teams still playing.

Anonymous said...

603 ridiculous comment ! 1 - 0 is a close as you get. As usual a great game between SDFC and SSC. Too bad it happended in quarters due to crap draw. Should have been the final!

Anonymous said...

SSC, "should have been the final" is a bit over the top. You lost, you are out, as are most all of the teams. My son's team lost on a pk........they lost. SSC has really turned to crying on here.

Anonymous said...

I don't think that was what above poster meant. I read it that the SDFC v SSC game was worthy of a final, and too bad that either team had to get knocked out this early.

Anonymous said...

It isn't too bad, why are you assuming that they would have won their match to get there? Took SSC a last minute goal and PK's.
Didn't SDFC have to go into PK's in an earlier match? You play who you are scheduled to play, don't whine when you lose.

Anonymous said...

Hopefully, when all is said and done SDFC wins NJ state cup, and SSC wins the US Club state cup. That way NJ will be represented by the top two teams at regional competition. These are the top two teams and no one else is even close!

Anonymous said...

I believe you will all be surprised by Marlton. I know they get a lot of chatter on here, but for my money Marlton is a bit above. Maybe your opinion on SSC is based on last years team. Maybe you are not aware of Marltons advancement. Either way I do believe that SSC, SDFC, Marlton or Marlboro for that matter will be a fine representation. No dog in the fight.

Anonymous said...

10:38 perfectly well said. Some folks here really need to get over themselves.

Anonymous said...

Couple of weekend scores that are interesting. SSC tied Hudson 1-1 and Howell beat Ironbound 1-0.

Howell is the real deal, proving again with a big win. SSC ties Hudson?? Surprised.

Anonymous said...

Did Howell not enter the State Cup?

Anonymous said...

NJYS State Cup, No Howell did not enter.

Anonymous said...

Marlton beats SJEB 1-0 in EDP play tonight

Anonymous said...

Marlton beats sjeb in edp 1 0 hard fought game by both teams, good game to watch very physcical.

Anonymous said...

2:33--Howell vs. IB game was a "big win" for Howell? The 1-0 result against a IB team currently on the downside who has not won an EDP game was a "big win"? The only thing big about the win was the amount of classless play that Howell brought to the pitch. Dirty tackling, constant whining, and stalling by (among other tactics, kicking the balls away after the whistle)--all "big" for Howell in the 1-0 victory over a suffering IB team. Great job Howell!

Anonymous said...

Agreed. Both teams were solid. Nice soccer here across the board. This is what it's all about.

Anonymous said...

Howell vs IB, you recapped the game but said IB is on the downside and suffering. You also said that Howell was classless. Which team are you with?

Anonymous said...

I don't know much about Ironbound anymore but Howell is competitive. They are rugby players on a soccer field but they have passion and try hard. Not sure if they have more than 1 or maybe 2 kids that have soccer skills, but they will run through the ball, and you if they have too. Keeper is good.

Marlton, who has played in both state cup competitions has a 24-3 advantage in goals for vs against in both combined. 24-3, that is a good ratio.

Anonymous said...

That is an impressive number. Good research done, but how does that compare to some other team?

US Club State Cup Predictions
Marlton over Marlboro
SSC over Galacticos

Marlton over SSC in the Finals

NJYS Sate Cup
SDFC over Marlboro
Marlton over Galacticos

SDFC over Marlton in theFinals

Anonymous said...

Marlton will win both. Marlton will beat Marlboro and then SSC in NJ Cup.

Marlton will beat Galacticos ad then Marlboro in the NJYS finals.

All will be good games with the exception of each of the Galacticos games.

I don't have a team in this, is it usual or unusual to go and just watch.

3:23 you are obviously a liar and have a connection to pick a second rate team as the cup winner. Nice try and I hope your team loses because of you!!!

Anonymous said...

Marlton is talking to Marlton. One Marlton parent types how they cant win and they are no good, another Marlton parent types about what they have done and who they have beaten. No Marlton isn't on this blog at 1:30 in the morning?

Marlton, you are a VERY good team. Anyone who has played you recently would attest to that. Let the boys play, they don't need you.

Hats off to Marlton for recent good runs in both cups, but don't overhype yourselves as top tiern just yet! SDFC, SSC , STA are top dogs cause they developed some good talent, loose good players to MLS academies, yet still bounce back with highly competetive teams. That is what sets them apart from the pack.

Anonymous said...

7:35 thank you for the advice. Seriously.

Anonymous said...

How is Marlton "b" rated please explain? Haha

Anonymous said...

Of course Marlton isn't a B rated team, don't listen to that idiot. No one knows who the top team is yet but Marlton certainly has a stake to that claim. They didn't say they were the top club, did they? SSC, you lost players, we all get it but this conversation is about today I believe. I am sure that SSC/SDFC/Marlton/Marlboro/STA and some others have academy level players (multiple). Not everyone wants that you know.

Anonymous said...

You asked for it, you got it. NJ top 10

1) SDFC
2) Marlton
3) SSC
4) Marlboro
5) STA
6) SJEB
7) NJ Force
8) PDA
9) Howell
10) TSF

I believe there are only 3 town teams in there. Marlton, Marlboro and Howell. Don't Marlboro and Howell butt up against one another? They should make a super team.

I can not wait for SDFC and SSC to crush Marlton! My sons team is already out of the tournament and was beat by both teams above. It's the way the ball bounces and we will try again next season.

I'm tired of the Marlton parents hyping up their average team. At this age all town teams have players from other towns and have profesional trainers. You are not special. What I do know is that if SDFC or SSC approached your top players and they were in driving range the players would leave you in a heart beat. With that being said don't throw stones when you live in a glass house. No one outside of Marlton cares or worries about your self promoting team.

Anonymous said...

Actually they wouldnt leave because they all feel that they are the number one team in the state(not saying they are but thats what they think) so hey bud shut your mouth and let the kids play.. Wait how is your team doing in the state cup? O wait i forgot your out. No need to be talking crap on here when your team will not be playing in championship weekend.

12:30, Thank you TSF for checking in. Why so angry?

Anonymous said...

I believe there is no U16 Boys site on this blog. So enjoy the next three months and everybody then can just shut up. Try to focus all this energy towards your sons education, that will pay off. Soccer will not.

1:04 this is a soccer blog, you may want to go to www.edu.ydidigotothesoccersite.org website.

A Marlboro/Howell Super team. Great idea since they both play the same get the ball up to the fast forward type of game.

The only thing Marlton has is a lucky draw in both state cups. I would say they maybe in the top five if they are lucky in both cups. They would have been gone long ago if they played TSF, SDFC, SSC or STA is the simple fact. The best teams had to play each other early in the tournament which left a large gap for a couple of town teams to advance further than they would have. It's going to be funny when SSC crushes them in one tournament and SDFC destroys them in the other. Based on records and excluding the academy's STA, SDC and SDFC are light years ahead of the rest if the teams in the state.

Sorry but the truth hurts and I'm sorry you got your panties in a bunch wishing and praying for a cup win.

You live in the past my friend. Marlton may or may not win a cup or two in the next couple of weeks but that alone will not prove your point. I am pretty certain that the lowly town teams you disparage have much respect for SSC and SDFC, I would think that SSC and SDFC have the same respect for Marlton and Marlboro. It seems that the only people with issues are the same people that wont know what side of the parent sideline to sit on at the semi and finals. That is because they don't have a team in the game but care enough to be there to watch.

Anonymous said...

To all the Marlton haters. Sorry if we knocked you out better luck next year. To the teams still in it, we wish you beat if luck and look forward to a great weekend and can't wait for both semifinals and finals.

2:25 I know what this is forum is all about. What has your sons coach been telling you? If he is not your little Messi, log onto his PowerSchool occassionally. If you do not know what that is go to www.educateme.org.

Anonymous said...

4:06 Can you explain why TSF enters the discussion about big boys in soccer?

Anonymous said...

What do you guys think the results will be for this weekend? Give scores and who you think will come out on top.

Anonymous said...

12: 36 Of course your players would NEVER leave Marlton! Then explain why several guest ( the first step before leaving ) and why some play summer and Futsal with other clubs ( also a predecessor to leaving ).

Anonymous said...

Marlton has an advantage in player retention that other teams don't have, and good for them. Name another team in their area that is half as good, you cant. There really is nowhere else for them to go even if they cared to. Teams in the northern and Central Nj regions have more player movement because there are more competitive choices.

Semis are both on grass and finals are on turf

Anonymous said...

Unbelievable that the fields are crappy with all of the great turf fields in the state.

Anonymous said...

Are the two semis this weekend played at the same time?

Anonymous said...

Soccer should not be played on turf, unless it is the thick, new stuff that plays like grass. Hard, short bladed turf is a terrible surface to play soccer on. You may as well find a mall parking lot. That said there are tons of great grass fields available. anyone know anything about the Manalapan fields for the following weekend's NJYS state cup semis/finals?

Anyone hear any rumors about tourneys at the Tuckahoe Turf Farms being cancelled from this point forward due to some agreement with the Pinelands Commission? That could really throw a monkey wrench into the works for the EDP Cup and MAPS Cup, which are so highly ranked. Back to Ft. Dix???

Good luck to the teams playing in the Semi's.

Parents, behave
Coaches, behave
Players, enjoy

I agree. Parents enjoy the moment with your kids, kids enjoy the time as well. Win or loose it doesn't matter. Futbol is life, enjoy it!

Anonymous said...

I'm sure galacticos Marlton SSC and Marlboro have worked very hard to be where they are right now and I look forward to hearing about two great games on Saturday and a fabulous game on Sunday good luck to all 4 teams, like above poster enjoy the moment and what it brings win or lose. And if your team is too lose don't be upset and come on this site and trash the team that bet you please.

Anonymous said...

What happened in the semis? C'mon Marlton, you waste no time on posting your wins.

Anonymous said...

SSC wins in a fairly easy one. No offense to the galacticos but really not in the same league.

Anonymous said...

2:27 suppose you don't know, that's right....your little boy wasn't playing today.

Anonymous said...

What was the score? Any info on the other one?

Anonymous said...

2:58 On your response to 2:27, why so grumpy?

Anonymous said...

Good game. 1-1, then Marlboro won in PKs.

Anonymous said...

Wonder if Marlboro has enough in the tank to take down SSC? Anyone have predictions?

Anonymous said...

I say SSC wins 2-0

Anonymous said...

Wow i am surprised.. Marlton lost???? Congrats to marlboro, big win for them
